وَٱضۡرِبۡ
Waḍrib
And set forth
لَهُم
lahum
to them
مَّثَلًا
mas̤alan
an example
أَصۡحَٰبَ
ʹAṣḥaabal
(of the) companions
ٱلۡقَرۡيَةِ
Q̣aryah.
(of) the city
إِذۡ
ʹIẓ
when
جَآءَهَا
jaaaʹahal
came to it
ٱلۡمُرۡسَلُونَ
mursaloon.
the Messengers
١٣
36:14
إِذۡ
ʹIẓ
When
أَرۡسَلۡنَآ
ʹarsalnaaa
We sent
إِلَيۡهِمُ
ʹilayhimus̤
to them
ٱثۡنَيۡنِ
nayni
two (Messengers)
فَكَذَّبُوهُمَا
fakaẓẓaboohumaa
but they denied both of them
فَعَزَّزۡنَا
faʻazzaznaa
so We strengthened them
بِثَالِثٖ
bis̤aalis̤iñ
with a third
فَقَالُوٓاْ
faq̣aalooo
and they said
إِنَّآ
ʹinnaaa
Indeed We
إِلَيۡكُم
ʹilaykum
to you
مُّرۡسَلُونَ
mursaloon.
(are) Messengers
١٤
36:15
قَالُواْ
Q̣aaloo
They said
مَآ
maaa
Not
أَنتُمۡ
ʹañtum
you
إِلَّا
ʹillaa
(are) but
بَشَرٞ
basharum
human beings
مِّثۡلُنَا
mis̤lunaa
like us
وَمَآ
wa-maaa
and not
أَنزَلَ
ʹañzalar
has revealed
ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنُ
Raḥmaanu
the Most Gracious
مِن
miñ
any
شَيۡءٍ
shayʹin
thing
إِنۡ
ʹin
Not
أَنتُمۡ
ʹañtum
you
إِلَّا
ʹillaa
(are) but
تَكۡذِبُونَ
takẓiboon.
lying
١٥
36:16
قَالُواْ
Q̣aaloo
They said
رَبُّنَا
Rabbunaa
Our Lord
يَعۡلَمُ
yaʻlamu
knows
إِنَّآ
ʹinnaaa
that we
إِلَيۡكُمۡ
ʹilaykum
to you
لَمُرۡسَلُونَ
lamursaloon:
(are) surely Messengers
١٦
36:17
وَمَا
Wa-maa
And not
عَلَيۡنَآ
ʻalaynaaa
(is) on us
إِلَّا
ʹillal
except
ٱلۡبَلَٰغُ
Balaag̣ul
the conveyance
ٱلۡمُبِينُ
mubeen.

36:18
قَالُوٓاْ
Q̣aalooo
They said
إِنَّا
ʹinnaa
Indeed we
تَطَيَّرۡنَا
taṭayyarnaa
[we] see an evil omen
بِكُمۡۖ
bikum:
from you
لَئِن
laʹil
If
لَّمۡ
lam
not
تَنتَهُواْ
tañtahoo
you desist
لَنَرۡجُمَنَّكُمۡ
lanarjumannakum
surely we will stone you
وَلَيَمَسَّنَّكُم
wa-la-yamassan-nakum
and surely will touch you
مِّنَّا
minnaa
from us
عَذَابٌ
ʻaẓaabun
a punishment
أَلِيمٞ
ʹaleem.
painful
١٨
36:19
قَالُواْ
Q̣aaloo
They said
طَٰٓئِرُكُم
ṭaaaʹirukum
Your evil omen
مَّعَكُمۡ
maʻakum:
(be) with you
أَئِن
ʹaʹiñ
Is it because
ذُكِّرۡتُمۚ
ẓukkirtum?
you are admonished
بَلۡ
Bal
Nay
أَنتُمۡ
ʹañtum
you
قَوۡمٞ
q̣awmum
(are) a people
مُّسۡرِفُونَ
musrifoon!
transgressing
١٩
36:20
وَجَآءَ
Wa-jaaaʹa
And came
مِنۡ
min
from
أَقۡصَا
ʹaq̣ṣal
(the) farthest end
ٱلۡمَدِينَةِ
Madeenati
(of) the city
رَجُلٞ
rajuluñy
a man
يَسۡعَىٰ
yasʻaa
running
قَالَ
q̣aala
He said
يَٰقَوۡمِ
yaa-q̣awmit
O my People
ٱتَّبِعُواْ
tabiʻul
Follow
ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِينَ
mursaleen:
the Messengers
٢٠
36:21
ٱتَّبِعُواْ
ʹIttabiʻoo
Follow
مَن
mal
(those) who
لَّا
laa
(do) not
يَسۡـَٔلُكُمۡ
yasʹalukum
ask (of) you
أَجۡرٗا
ʹajrañw
any payment
وَهُم
Wahum
and they
مُّهۡتَدُونَ
muhtadoon.
(are) rightly guided
٢١
36:22
وَمَا
Wa-maa
And what
لِيَ
liya
(is) for me
لَآ
laaa
(that) not
أَعۡبُدُ
ʹaʻbudul
I worship
ٱلَّذِي
laẓee
the One Who
فَطَرَنِي
faṭaranee
created me
وَإِلَيۡهِ
wa-ʹilayhi
and to Whom
تُرۡجَعُونَ
turjaʻoon.
you will be returned
٢٢
36:23
ءَأَتَّخِذُ
ʹA-ʹattakhiẓu
Should I take
مِن
miñ
besides Him
دُونِهِۦٓ
dooniheee
besides Him
ءَالِهَةً
ʹaalihatan
gods
إِن
ʹiñy
If
يُرِدۡنِ
yuridnir
intends for me
ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنُ
Raḥmaanu
the Most Gracious
بِضُرّٖ
biḍurril
any harm
لَّا
laa
not
تُغۡنِ
tug̣ni
will avail
عَنِّي
ʻannee
[from] me
شَفَٰعَتُهُمۡ
shafaaʻatuhum
their intercession
شَيۡـٔٗا
shayʹañw
(in) anything
وَلَا
walaa
and not
يُنقِذُونِ
yuñq̣iẓoon.
they (can) save me
٢٣
36:24
إِنِّيٓ
ʹInneee
Indeed I
إِذٗا
ʹiẓal
then
لَّفِي
lafee
surely would be in
ضَلَٰلٖ
Ḍalaalim
an error
مُّبِينٍ
mubeen.

٢٤
36:25
إِنِّيٓ
ʹInneee
Indeed I
ءَامَنتُ
ʹaamañtu
[I] have believed
بِرَبِّكُمۡ
bi-Rabbikum
in your Lord
فَٱسۡمَعُونِ
fasmaʻoon!
so listen to me
٢٥
36:26
قِيلَ
Q̣eelad
It was said
ٱدۡخُلِ
khulil
Enter
ٱلۡجَنَّةَۖ
Jannah.
Paradise
قَالَ
Q̣aala
He said
يَٰلَيۡتَ
yaa-layta
I wish
قَوۡمِي
Q̣awmee
my people
يَعۡلَمُونَ
yaʻlamoon,
knew
٢٦
36:27
بِمَا
Bimaa
Of how
غَفَرَ
g̣afara
has forgiven
لِي
lee
me
رَبِّي
Rabbee
my Lord
وَجَعَلَنِي
wa-jaʻalanee
and placed me
مِنَ
minal
among
ٱلۡمُكۡرَمِينَ
mukrameen!
the honored ones
