You give life
ٱلۡمَوۡتَىٰۖ
al-mawta
(to) the dead
قَالَ

He said
أَوَلَمۡ
awalam
Have not
تُؤۡمِنۖ
tu'min
you believed
قَالَ
qala
He said
بَلَىٰ
bala
Yes
وَلَٰكِن
walakin
[and] but
لِّيَطۡمَئِنَّ
liyatma-inna
to satisfy
قَلۡبِيۖ
qalbi
my heart
قَالَ
qala
He said
فَخُذۡ
fakhudh
Then take
أَرۡبَعَةٗ
arba'atan
four
مِّنَ
mina
of
ٱلطَّيۡرِ
al-tayri
the birds
فَصُرۡهُنَّ
fasur'hunna
and incline them
إِلَيۡكَ
ilayka
towards you
ثُمَّ
thumma
then
ٱجۡعَلۡ
ij'al
put
عَلَىٰ
ala
on
كُلِّ
kulli
each
جَبَلٖ
jabalin
hill
مِّنۡهُنَّ
min'hunna
of them
جُزۡءٗا
juz'an
a portion
ثُمَّ
thumma
then
ٱدۡعُهُنَّ
ud'uhunna
call them
يَأۡتِينَكَ
yatinaka
they will come to you
سَعۡيٗاۚ
sa'yan
(in) haste
وَٱعۡلَمۡ
wa-i'lam
And know
أَنَّ
anna
that
ٱللَّهَ
al-laha
Allah
عَزِيزٌ
azizun
(is) All-Mighty
حَكِيمٞ
hakimun
All-Wise
٢٦٠
2:261
مَّثَلُ
mathalu
Example
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhina
(of) those who
يُنفِقُونَ
yunfiquna
spend
أَمۡوَٰلَهُمۡ
amwalahum
their wealth
فِي
fi
in
سَبِيلِ
sabili
(the) way
ٱللَّهِ
al-lahi
(of) Allah
كَمَثَلِ
kamathali
(is) like
حَبَّةٍ
habbatin
a grain
أَنۢبَتَتۡ
anbatat
which grows
سَبۡعَ
sab'a
seven
سَنَابِلَ
sanabila
ears
فِي
fi
in
كُلِّ
kulli
each
سُنۢبُلَةٖ
sunbulatin
ear
مِّاْئَةُ
mi-atu
hundred
حَبَّةٖۗ
habbatin
grain(s)
وَٱللَّهُ
wal-lahu
And Allah
يُضَٰعِفُ
yuda'ifu
gives manifold
لِمَن
liman
to whom
يَشَآءُۚ
yashau
He wills
وَٱللَّهُ
wal-lahu
And Allah
وَٰسِعٌ
wasi'un
(is) All-Encompassing
عَلِيمٌ
alimun
All-Knowing
٢٦١
2:262
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhina
Those who
يُنفِقُونَ
yunfiquna
spend
أَمۡوَٰلَهُمۡ
amwalahum
their wealth
فِي
fi
in
سَبِيلِ
sabili
(the) way
ٱللَّهِ
al-lahi
(of) Allah
ثُمَّ
thumma
then
لَا
la
not
يُتۡبِعُونَ
yut'bi'una
they follow
مَآ
ma
what
أَنفَقُواْ
anfaqu
they spend
مَنّٗا
mannan
(with) reminders of generosity
وَلَآ
wala
and not
أَذٗى
adhan
hurt
لَّهُمۡ
lahum
for them
أَجۡرُهُمۡ
ajruhum
their reward
عِندَ
inda
(is) with
رَبِّهِمۡ
rabbihim
their Lord
وَلَا
wala
and (there will be) no
خَوۡفٌ
khawfun
fear
عَلَيۡهِمۡ
alayhim
on them
وَلَا
wala
and not
هُمۡ
hum
they
يَحۡزَنُونَ
yahzanuna
will grieve
٢٦٢
2:263
۞قَوۡلٞ
qawlun
A word
مَّعۡرُوفٞ
ma'rufun
kind
وَمَغۡفِرَةٌ
wamaghfiratun
and (seeking) forgiveness
خَيۡرٞ
khayrun
(are) better
مِّن
min
than
صَدَقَةٖ
sadaqatin
a charity
يَتۡبَعُهَآ
yatba'uha
followed [it]
أَذٗىۗ
adhan
(by) hurt
وَٱللَّهُ
wal-lahu
And Allah
غَنِيٌّ
ghaniyyun
(is) All-Sufficient
حَلِيمٞ
halimun
All-Forbearing
٢٦٣
2:264
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
yaayyuha
O you
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhina
who
ءَامَنُواْ
amanu
believe[d]
لَا
la
(Do) not
تُبۡطِلُواْ
tub'tilu
render in vain
صَدَقَٰتِكُم
sadaqatikum
your charities
بِٱلۡمَنِّ
bil-mani
with reminders (of it)
وَٱلۡأَذَىٰ
wal-adha
or [the] hurt
كَٱلَّذِي
ka-alladhi
like the one who
يُنفِقُ
yunfiqu
spends
مَالَهُۥ
malahu
his wealth
رِئَآءَ
riaa
(to) be seen
ٱلنَّاسِ
al-nasi
(by) the people
وَلَا
wala
and (does) not
يُؤۡمِنُ
yu'minu
believe
بِٱللَّهِ
bil-lahi
in Allah
وَٱلۡيَوۡمِ
wal-yawmi
and the Day
ٱلۡأٓخِرِۖ
al-akhiri
[the] Last
فَمَثَلُهُۥ
famathaluhu
Then his example
كَمَثَلِ
kamathali
(is) like
صَفۡوَانٍ
safwanin
(that of a) smooth rock
عَلَيۡهِ
alayhi
upon it
تُرَابٞ
turabun
(is) dust
فَأَصَابَهُۥ
fa-asabahu
then fell on it
وَابِلٞ
wabilun
heavy rain
فَتَرَكَهُۥ
fatarakahu
then left it
صَلۡدٗاۖ
saldan
bare
لَّا
la
Not
يَقۡدِرُونَ
yaqdiruna
they have control
عَلَىٰ
ala
on
شَيۡءٖ
shayin
anything
مِّمَّا
mimma
of what
كَسَبُواْۗ
kasabu
they (have) earned
وَٱللَّهُ
wal-lahu
And Allah
لَا
la
(does) not
يَهۡدِي
yahdi
guide
ٱلۡقَوۡمَ
al-qawma
the people
ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ
al-kafirina
[the] disbelieving
٢٦٤
