وَلَمَّا
Wa-lammaa
And when
جَآءَتۡ
jaaaʹat
came
رُسُلُنَآ
Rusulunaaa
Our messengers
إِبۡرَٰهِيمَ
ʹIbraaheema
(to) Ibrahim
بِٱلۡبُشۡرَىٰ
bil-bushraa
with the glad tidings
قَالُوٓاْ
q̣aalooo
they said
إِنَّا
ʹinnaa
Indeed we
مُهۡلِكُوٓاْ
muhlikooo
(are) going to destroy
أَهۡلِ
ʹahli
(the) people
هَٰذِهِ
haaẓihil
(of) this
ٱلۡقَرۡيَةِۖ
q̣aryah:
town
إِنَّ
ʹinna
Indeed
أَهۡلَهَا
ʹahlahaa
its people
كَانُواْ
kaanoo
are
ظَٰلِمِينَ
z̤̣aalimeen.
wrongdoers
٣١
29:32
قَالَ
Q̣aala
He said
إِنَّ
ʹinna
Indeed
فِيهَا
feeha
in it
لُوطٗاۚ
Looṭaa.
(is) Lut
قَالُواْ
Q̣aaloo
They said
نَحۡنُ
naḥnu
We
أَعۡلَمُ
ʹaʻlamu
know better
بِمَن
bimañ
who
فِيهَاۖ
feehaa.
(is) in it
لَنُنَجِّيَنَّهُۥ
Lanunajjiyannahoo
We will surely save him
وَأَهۡلَهُۥٓ
wa-ʹahlahooo
and his family
إِلَّا
ʹillam
except
ٱمۡرَأَتَهُۥ
raʹatahoo
his wife
كَانَتۡ
kaanat
She
مِنَ
minal
(is) of
ٱلۡغَٰبِرِينَ
g̣aabireen!
those who remain behind
٣٢
29:33
وَلَمَّآ
Wa-lammaaa
And when
أَن
ʹañ
[that]
جَآءَتۡ
jaaaʹat
came
رُسُلُنَا
Rusulunaa
Our messengers
لُوطٗا
Looṭañ
(to) Lut
سِيٓءَ
seeeʹa
he was distressed
بِهِمۡ
bihim
for them
وَضَاقَ
wa-ḍaaq̣a
and felt straitened
بِهِمۡ
bihim
for them
ذَرۡعٗاۖ
ẓarʻañw
(and) uneasy
وَقَالُواْ
waq̣aaloo
And they said
لَا
laa-
(Do) not
تَخَفۡ
takhaf
fear
وَلَا
wa-laa
and (do) not
تَحۡزَنۡ
taḥzan:
grieve
إِنَّا
ʹinnaa
Indeed we
مُنَجُّوكَ
munajjooka
(will) save you
وَأَهۡلَكَ
wa-ʹahlaka
and your family
إِلَّا
ʹillam
except
ٱمۡرَأَتَكَ
raʹataka
your wife
كَانَتۡ
kaanat
She
مِنَ
minal
(is) of
ٱلۡغَٰبِرِينَ
g̣aabireen.
those who remain behind
٣٣
29:34
إِنَّا
ʹInnaa
Indeed we
مُنزِلُونَ
muñziloona
(will) bring down
عَلَىٰٓ
ʻalaaa
on
أَهۡلِ
ʹahli
(the) people
هَٰذِهِ
Haaẓihil
(of) this
ٱلۡقَرۡيَةِ
q̣aryati
town
رِجۡزٗا
Rijzam
a punishment
مِّنَ
minas
from
ٱلسَّمَآءِ
samaaaʹi
(the) sky
بِمَا
bimaa
because
كَانُواْ
kaanoo
they have been
يَفۡسُقُونَ
yafsuq̣oon.
defiantly disobedient
٣٤
29:35
وَلَقَد
Wa-laq̣at
And verily
تَّرَكۡنَا
taraknaa
We have left
مِنۡهَآ
min-haaa
about it
ءَايَةَۢ
ʹAayatam
a sign
بَيِّنَةٗ
bayyinatal
(as) evidence
لِّقَوۡمٖ
liq̣awmiñy
for a people
يَعۡقِلُونَ
yaʻq̣iloon.
who use reason
٣٥
29:36
وَإِلَىٰ
Wa-ʹilaa
And to
مَدۡيَنَ
Madyana
Madyan
أَخَاهُمۡ
ʹakhaahum
their brother
شُعَيۡبٗا
shuʻaybañ
Shuaib
فَقَالَ
faq̣aala
And he said
يَٰقَوۡمِ
yaa-q̣awmiʻ
O my people
ٱعۡبُدُواْ
budul
Worship
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
وَٱرۡجُواْ
warjul
and expect
ٱلۡيَوۡمَ
Yawmal
the Day
ٱلۡأٓخِرَ
ʹAakhira
the Last
وَلَا
wa-laa
and (do) not
تَعۡثَوۡاْ
taʻs̤aw
commit evil
فِي
fil
in
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ
ʹarḍi
the earth
مُفۡسِدِينَ
mufsideen.
(as) corrupters
٣٦
29:37
فَكَذَّبُوهُ
Fakaẓẓaboohu
But they denied him
فَأَخَذَتۡهُمُ
faʹakhaẓathumur
so seized them
ٱلرَّجۡفَةُ
rajfatu
the earthquake
فَأَصۡبَحُواْ
faʹaṣbaḥoo
and they became
فِي
fee
in
دَارِهِمۡ
daarihim
their home
جَٰثِمِينَ
jaas̤imeen.
fallen prone
٣٧
29:38
وَعَادٗا
Wa-ʻAadañw
And Aad
وَثَمُودَاْ
Wa-S̤amooda
and Thamud
وَقَد
waq̣at
and verily
تَّبَيَّنَ
tabayyana
(has) become clear
لَكُم
lakum
to you
مِّن
mim
from
مَّسَٰكِنِهِمۡۖ
masaakinihim.
their dwellings
وَزَيَّنَ
Wa-zayyana
And made fair-seeming
لَهُمُ
lahumush
to them
ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنُ
Shayṭaanu
the Shaitaan
أَعۡمَٰلَهُمۡ
ʹaʻmaalahum
their deeds
فَصَدَّهُمۡ
faṣaddahum
and averted them
عَنِ
ʻanis
from
ٱلسَّبِيلِ
Sabeeli
the Way
وَكَانُواْ
wa-kaanoo
though they were
مُسۡتَبۡصِرِينَ
Mustabṣireen.
endowed with insight
