28:51۞وَلَقَدۡWa-laq̣adAnd indeedوَصَّلۡنَاwaṣṣalnaaWe have conveyedلَهُمُlahumulto themٱلۡقَوۡلَQ̣awlathe Wordلَعَلَّهُمۡlaʻallahumso that they mayيَتَذَكَّرُونَyataẓakkaroon.remember٥١
28:52ٱلَّذِينَʹAllaẓeenaThose whoءَاتَيۡنَٰهُمُʹaataynaahumulWe gave themٱلۡكِتَٰبَKitaabathe Scriptureمِنmiñbefore itقَبۡلِهِۦq̣abliheebefore itهُمhum̃theyبِهِۦbiheein itيُؤۡمِنُونَyuʹminoon;believe٥٢
28:53وَإِذَاWa-ʹiẓaaAnd whenيُتۡلَىٰyutlaait is recitedعَلَيۡهِمۡʻalayhimto themقَالُوٓاْq̣aalooothey sayءَامَنَّاʹaamannaaWe believeبِهِۦٓbiheeein itإِنَّهُʹinnahulIndeed itٱلۡحَقُّḤaq̣q̣u(is) the truthمِنmirfromرَّبِّنَآRabbinaaaour LordإِنَّاʹinnaaIndeed weكُنَّاkunnaa[we] wereمِنmiñbefore itقَبۡلِهِۦq̣abliheebefore itمُسۡلِمِينَMuslimeen.Muslims٥٣
28:54أُوْلَٰٓئِكَʹUlaaaʹikaThoseيُؤۡتَوۡنَyuʹtawnawill be givenأَجۡرَهُمʹajrahumtheir rewardمَّرَّتَيۡنِmarrataynitwiceبِمَاbimaabecauseصَبَرُواْṣabaroothey are patientوَيَدۡرَءُونَwa-yadraʹoonaand they repelبِٱلۡحَسَنَةِbil-ḥasanatiswith good ٱلسَّيِّئَةَsayyiʹatathe evilوَمِمَّاwa-mimmaaand from whatرَزَقۡنَٰهُمۡrazaq̣naahumWe have provided themيُنفِقُونَyuñfiq̣oon.they spend٥٤
28:55وَإِذَاWa-ʹiẓaaAnd whenسَمِعُواْsamiʻulthey hearٱللَّغۡوَlag̣wavain talkأَعۡرَضُواْʹaʻraḍoothey turn awayعَنۡهُʻanhufrom itوَقَالُواْwa-q̣aalooand sayلَنَآlanaaaFor usأَعۡمَٰلُنَاʹaʻmaalunaaour deedsوَلَكُمۡwa-lakumand for youأَعۡمَٰلُكُمۡʹaʻmaalukum;your deedsسَلَٰمٌSalaamunPeace (be)عَلَيۡكُمۡʻalaykum:on youلَاlaa-notنَبۡتَغِيnabtag̣ilwe seekٱلۡجَٰهِلِينَjaahileen.the ignorant٥٥
28:56إِنَّكَʹInnakaIndeed youلَاlaa-(can) notتَهۡدِيtahdeeguideمَنۡmanwhomأَحۡبَبۡتَʹaḥbabtayou loveوَلَٰكِنَّwa-laakinnalbutٱللَّهَlaahaAllahيَهۡدِيyahdeeguidesمَنmañywhomيَشَآءُۚyashaaaʹ:He willsوَهُوَwa-HuwaAnd Heأَعۡلَمُʹaʻlamu(is) most knowingبِٱلۡمُهۡتَدِينَbil-muhtadeen.(of) the guided ones٥٦
28:57وَقَالُوٓاْWa-q̣aaloooAnd they sayإِنʹinIfنَّتَّبِعِnattabiʻilwe followٱلۡهُدَىٰhudaathe guidanceمَعَكَmaʻakawith youنُتَخَطَّفۡnutakhaṭṭafwe would be sweptمِنۡminfromأَرۡضِنَآۚʹarḍinaa.our landأَوَلَمۡʹAwalamHave notنُمَكِّنnumakkilWe establishedلَّهُمۡlahumfor themحَرَمًاḤaramana sanctuaryءَامِنٗاʹaaminañysecureيُجۡبَىٰٓyujbaaaare broughtإِلَيۡهِʹilayhito itثَمَرَٰتُs̤amaraatufruitsكُلِّkulli(of) allشَيۡءٖshayʹirthingsرِّزۡقٗاrizq̣ama provisionمِّنmilfromلَّدُنَّاladunnaaUsوَلَٰكِنَّwa-laakinnaButأَكۡثَرَهُمۡʹaks̤arahummost of themلَاlaa-(do) notيَعۡلَمُونَyaʻlamoon.know٥٧
28:58وَكَمۡWa-kamAnd how manyأَهۡلَكۡنَاʹahlaknaaWe have destroyedمِنmiñofقَرۡيَةِۭq̣aryatima townبَطِرَتۡbaṭiratwhich exultedمَعِيشَتَهَاۖmaʻeeshatahaa!(in) its means of livelihoodفَتِلۡكَFatilkaAnd theseمَسَٰكِنُهُمۡmasaakinuhum(are) their dwellingsلَمۡlamnotتُسۡكَنtuskamhave been inhabitedمِّنۢmimafter themبَعۡدِهِمۡbaʻdihimafter themإِلَّاʹillaaexceptقَلِيلٗاۖq̣aleelaa!a littleوَكُنَّاWa-kunnaaAnd indeed [We]نَحۡنُNaḥnulWeٱلۡوَٰرِثِينَwaaris̤een!(are) the inheritors٥٨
28:59وَمَاWa-maaAnd notكَانَkaanawasرَبُّكَRabbukayour Lordمُهۡلِكَmuhlikal(the) one to destroyٱلۡقُرَىٰq̣uraathe townsحَتَّىٰḥattaauntilيَبۡعَثَyabʻas̤aHe (had) sentفِيٓfeeeinأُمِّهَاʹummihaatheir mother (town)رَسُولٗاrasoolañya Messengerيَتۡلُواْyatloorecitingعَلَيۡهِمۡʻalayhimto themءَايَٰتِنَاۚʹAayaatinaa;Our Versesوَمَاwa-maaAnd notكُنَّاkunnaaWe would beمُهۡلِكِيmuhlikil(the) one to destroyٱلۡقُرَىٰٓq̣uraaathe townsإِلَّاʹillaaexceptوَأَهۡلُهَاwa-ʹahluhaawhile their peopleظَٰلِمُونَz̤̣aalimoon.(were) wrongdoers٥٩
