We decreed
إِلَىٰ

مُوسَى

Musa
ٱلۡأَمۡرَ
al-amra
the Commandment
وَمَا
wama
and not
كُنتَ
kunta
you were
مِنَ
mina
among
ٱلشَّٰهِدِينَ
al-shahidina
the witnesses
٤٤
28:45
وَلَٰكِنَّآ
walakinna
But We
أَنشَأۡنَا
anshana
[We] produced
قُرُونٗا
qurunan
generations
فَتَطَاوَلَ
fatatawala
and prolonged
عَلَيۡهِمُ
alayhimu
for them
ٱلۡعُمُرُۚ
al-'umuru
the life
وَمَا
wama
And not
كُنتَ
kunta
you were
ثَاوِيٗا
thawiyan
a dweller
فِيٓ
fi
among
أَهۡلِ
ahli
(the) people
مَدۡيَنَ
madyana
(of) Madyan
تَتۡلُواْ
tatlu
reciting
عَلَيۡهِمۡ
alayhim
to them
ءَايَٰتِنَا
ayatina
Our Verses
وَلَٰكِنَّا
walakinna
but We
كُنَّا
kunna
[We] were
مُرۡسِلِينَ
mur'silina
the Senders
٤٥
28:46
وَمَا
wama
And not
كُنتَ
kunta
you were
بِجَانِبِ
bijanibi
at (the) side
ٱلطُّورِ
al-turi
(of) the Tur
إِذۡ
idh
when
نَادَيۡنَا
nadayna
We called
وَلَٰكِن
walakin
But
رَّحۡمَةٗ
rahmatan
(as) a mercy
مِّن
min
from
رَّبِّكَ
rabbika
your Lord
لِتُنذِرَ
litundhira
so that you warn
قَوۡمٗا
qawman
a people
مَّآ
ma
not
أَتَىٰهُم
atahum
(had) come to them
مِّن
min
any
نَّذِيرٖ
nadhirin
warner
مِّن
min
before you
قَبۡلِكَ
qablika
before you
لَعَلَّهُمۡ
la'allahum
so that they may
يَتَذَكَّرُونَ
yatadhakkaruna
remember
٤٦
28:47
وَلَوۡلَآ
walawla
And if not
أَن
an
[that]
تُصِيبَهُم
tusibahum
struck them
مُّصِيبَةُۢ
musibatun
a disaster
بِمَا
bima
for what
قَدَّمَتۡ
qaddamat
had sent forth
أَيۡدِيهِمۡ
aydihim
their hands
فَيَقُولُواْ
fayaqulu
and they would say
رَبَّنَا
rabbana
Our Lord
لَوۡلَآ
lawla
Why not
أَرۡسَلۡتَ
arsalta
You sent
إِلَيۡنَا
ilayna
to us
رَسُولٗا
rasulan
a Messenger
فَنَتَّبِعَ
fanattabi'a
so we (could have) followed
ءَايَٰتِكَ
ayatika
Your Verses
وَنَكُونَ
wanakuna
and we (would) have been
مِنَ
mina
of
ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
al-mu'minina
the believers
٤٧
28:48
فَلَمَّا
falamma
But when
جَآءَهُمُ
jaahumu
came to them
ٱلۡحَقُّ
al-haqu
the truth
مِنۡ
min
from Us
عِندِنَا
indina
from Us
قَالُواْ
qalu
they said
لَوۡلَآ
lawla
Why not
أُوتِيَ
utiya
he was given
مِثۡلَ
mith'la
(the) like
مَآ
ma
(of) what
أُوتِيَ
utiya
was given
مُوسَىٰٓۚ
musa
(to) Musa
أَوَلَمۡ
awalam
Did not
يَكۡفُرُواْ
yakfuru
they disbelieve
بِمَآ
bima
in what
أُوتِيَ
utiya
was given
مُوسَىٰ
musa
(to) Musa
مِن
min
before
قَبۡلُۖ
qablu
before
قَالُواْ
qalu
They said
سِحۡرَانِ
sih'rani
Two magic (works)
تَظَٰهَرَا
tazahara
supporting each other
وَقَالُوٓاْ
waqalu
And they said
إِنَّا
inna
Indeed we
بِكُلّٖ
bikullin
in all
كَٰفِرُونَ
kafiruna
(are) disbelievers
٤٨
28:49
قُلۡ
qul
Say
فَأۡتُواْ
fatu
Then bring
بِكِتَٰبٖ
bikitabin
a Book
مِّنۡ
min
from Allah
عِندِ
indi
from Allah
ٱللَّهِ
al-lahi
from Allah
هُوَ
huwa
which
أَهۡدَىٰ
ahda
(is) a better guide
مِنۡهُمَآ
min'huma
than both of them
أَتَّبِعۡهُ
attabi'hu
that I may follow it
إِن
in
if
كُنتُمۡ
kuntum
you are
صَٰدِقِينَ
sadiqina
truthful
٤٩
28:50
فَإِن
fa-in
But if
لَّمۡ
lam
not
يَسۡتَجِيبُواْ
yastajibu
they respond
لَكَ
laka
to you
فَٱعۡلَمۡ
fa-i'lam
then know
أَنَّمَا
annama
that only
يَتَّبِعُونَ
yattabi'una
they follow
أَهۡوَآءَهُمۡۚ
ahwaahum
their desires
وَمَنۡ
waman
And who
أَضَلُّ
adallu
(is) more astray
مِمَّنِ
mimmani
than (one) who
ٱتَّبَعَ
ittaba'a
follows
هَوَىٰهُ
hawahu
his own desire
بِغَيۡرِ
bighayri
without
هُدٗى
hudan
guidance
مِّنَ
mina
from
ٱللَّهِۚ
al-lahi
Allah
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
al-laha
Allah
لَا
la
(does) not
يَهۡدِي
yahdi
guide
ٱلۡقَوۡمَ
al-qawma
the people
ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
al-zalimina
the wrongdoers
