فَلَمَّا
Falammaa
So when
جَآءَ
jaaaʹa
came
سُلَيۡمَٰنَ
Sulaymaana
(to) Sulaiman
قَالَ
q̣aala
he said
أَتُمِدُّونَنِ
ʹatumiddoonani
Will you provide me
بِمَالٖ
bimaal?
with wealth
فَمَآ
Famaaa
But what
ءَاتَىٰنِۦَ
ʹaataaniyal
Allah has given me
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah has given me
خَيۡرٞ
khayrum
(is) better
مِّمَّآ
mimmaaa
than what
ءَاتَىٰكُمۚ
ʹaataakum!
He has given you
بَلۡ
Bal
Nay
أَنتُم
ʹañtum̃
you
بِهَدِيَّتِكُمۡ
bihadiyyatikum
in your gift
تَفۡرَحُونَ
tafraḥoon!
rejoice
٣٦
27:37
ٱرۡجِعۡ
ʹIrjiʻ
Return
إِلَيۡهِمۡ
ʹilayhim
to them
فَلَنَأۡتِيَنَّهُم
falanaʹtiyannahum̃
surely we will come to them
بِجُنُودٖ
bijunoodil
with hosts
لَّا
laa
not
قِبَلَ
q̣ibala
(is) resistance
لَهُم
lahum̃
for them
بِهَا
bihaa
of it
وَلَنُخۡرِجَنَّهُم
wa-lanukhrijannahum
and surely we will drive them out
مِّنۡهَآ
minhaaa
from there
أَذِلَّةٗ
ʹaẓillatañw
(in) humiliation
وَهُمۡ
Wahum
and they
صَٰغِرُونَ
ṣaag̣iroon.
(will be) abased
٣٧
27:38
قَالَ
Q̣aala
He said
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
yaaaʹayyuhal
O
ٱلۡمَلَؤُاْ
malaʹu
chiefs
أَيُّكُمۡ
ʹayyukum
Which of you
يَأۡتِينِي
yaʹteenee
will bring me
بِعَرۡشِهَا
biʻarshihaa
her throne
قَبۡلَ
q̣abla
before
أَن
ʹañy
that
يَأۡتُونِي
yaʹtoonee
they come to me
مُسۡلِمِينَ
muslimeen?
(in) submission
٣٨
27:39
قَالَ
Q̣aala
Said
عِفۡرِيتٞ
ʻIfreetum
a strong one
مِّنَ
minal
of
ٱلۡجِنِّ
jinni
the jinn
أَنَا۠
ʹana
I
ءَاتِيكَ
ʹaateeka
will bring it to you
بِهِۦ
bihee
will bring it to you
قَبۡلَ
q̣abla
before
أَن
ʹañ
[that]
تَقُومَ
taq̣ooma
you rise
مِن
mim
from
مَّقَامِكَۖ
maq̣aamik:
your place
وَإِنِّي
wa-ʹinnee
And indeed I am
عَلَيۡهِ
ʻalayhi
for it
لَقَوِيٌّ
laq̣awiyyun
surely strong
أَمِينٞ
ʹameen.
trustworthy
٣٩
27:40
قَالَ
Q̣aalal
Said
ٱلَّذِي
laẓee
one who
عِندَهُۥ
ʻiñdahoo
with him
عِلۡمٞ
ʻilmum
(was) knowledge
مِّنَ
minal
of
ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ
Kitaabi
the Scripture
أَنَا۠
ʹana
I
ءَاتِيكَ
ʹaateeka
will bring it to you
بِهِۦ
bihee
will bring it to you
قَبۡلَ
q̣abla
before
أَن
ʹañy
[that]
يَرۡتَدَّ
yartadda
returns
إِلَيۡكَ
ʹilayka
to you
طَرۡفُكَۚ
ṭarfuk!
your glance
فَلَمَّا
Falammaa
Then when
رَءَاهُ
raʹaahu
he saw it
مُسۡتَقِرًّا
mustaq̣irran
placed
عِندَهُۥ
ʻiñdahoo
before him
قَالَ
q̣aala
he said
هَٰذَا
haaẓaa
This
مِن
miñ
(is) from
فَضۡلِ
faḍli
(the) Favor
رَبِّي
Rabbee
(of) my Lord
لِيَبۡلُوَنِيٓ
liyabluwaneee
to test me
ءَأَشۡكُرُ
ʹaʹashkuru
whether I am grateful
أَمۡ
ʹam
or
أَكۡفُرُۖ
ʹakfur!
I am ungrateful
وَمَن
Wa-mañ
And whoever
شَكَرَ
shakara
(is) grateful
فَإِنَّمَا
faʹinnamaa
then only
يَشۡكُرُ
yashkuru
he is grateful
لِنَفۡسِهِۦۖ
linafsih;
for his own soul
وَمَن
wa-mañ
And whoever
كَفَرَ
kafara
(is) ungrateful
فَإِنَّ
faʹinna
then indeed
رَبِّي
Rabbee
my Lord
غَنِيّٞ
G̣aniyyuñ
(is) Self-sufficient
كَرِيمٞ
Kareem!...
Noble
٤٠
27:41
قَالَ
Q̣aala
He said
نَكِّرُواْ
nakkiroo
Disguise
لَهَا
lahaa
for her
عَرۡشَهَا
ʻarshahaa
her throne
نَنظُرۡ
nañz̤̣ur
we will see
أَتَهۡتَدِيٓ
ʹatahtadeee
whether she will be guided
أَمۡ
ʹam
or
تَكُونُ
takoonu
will be
مِنَ
minal
of
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those who
لَا
laa-
are not guided
يَهۡتَدُونَ
yahtadoon.
are not guided
٤١
27:42
فَلَمَّا
Falammaa
So when
جَآءَتۡ
jaaaʹat
she came
قِيلَ
q̣eela
it was said
أَهَٰكَذَا
ʹahaakaẓaa
Is like this
عَرۡشُكِۖ
ʻarshuk?
your throne
قَالَتۡ
Q̣aalat
She said
كَأَنَّهُۥ
kaʹannahoo
It is like
هُوَۚ
hoo;
it
وَأُوتِينَا
wa-ʹooteenal
And we were given
ٱلۡعِلۡمَ
ʻilma
the knowledge
مِن
miñ
before her
قَبۡلِهَا
q̣ablihaa
before her
وَكُنَّا
wa-kunnaa
and we have been
مُسۡلِمِينَ
Muslimeen.
Muslims
٤٢
27:43
وَصَدَّهَا
Waṣaddahaa
And has averted her
مَا
maa-
what
كَانَت
kaanat
she used (to)
تَّعۡبُدُ
taʻbudu
worship
مِن
miñ
besides
دُونِ
doonil
besides
ٱللَّهِۖ
laah:
Allah
إِنَّهَا
ʹinnahaa
Indeed she
كَانَتۡ
kaanat
was
مِن
miñ
from
قَوۡمٖ
q̣awmiñ
a people
كَٰفِرِينَ
kaafireen.
who disbelieve
٤٣
27:44
قِيلَ
Q̣eela
It was said
لَهَا
lahad
to her
ٱدۡخُلِي
khuliṣ
Enter
ٱلصَّرۡحَۖ
ṣarḥ:
the palace
فَلَمَّا
falammaaنَ
Then when
رَأَتۡهُ
raʹathu
she saw it
حَسِبَتۡهُ
ḥasibathu
she thought it
لُجَّةٗ
lujjatañw
(was) a pool
وَكَشَفَتۡ
wakashafat
and she uncovered
عَن
ʻañ
[on]
سَاقَيۡهَاۚ
saaq̣ayhaa.
her shins
قَالَ
Q̣aala
He said
إِنَّهُۥ
ʹinnahoo
Indeed it
صَرۡحٞ
ṣarḥum
(is) a palace
مُّمَرَّدٞ
mumarradum
made smooth
مِّن
miñ
of
قَوَارِيرَۗ
q̣awaareer.
glass
قَالَتۡ
Q̣aalat
She said
رَبِّ
Rabbi
My Lord
إِنِّي
ʹinnee
indeed I
ظَلَمۡتُ
z̤̣alamtu
[I] have wronged
نَفۡسِي
nafsee
myself
وَأَسۡلَمۡتُ
wa-ʹaslamtu
and I submit
مَعَ
maʻa
with
سُلَيۡمَٰنَ
Sulaymaana
Sulaiman
لِلَّهِ
lillaahi
to Allah
رَبِّ
Rabbil
(the) Lord
ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
ʻAalameen.
(of) the worlds
٤٤
