21:1ٱقۡتَرَبَʹIq̣taraba(Has) approachedلِلنَّاسِlinnaasifor [the] mankindحِسَابُهُمۡḤisaabuhumtheir accountوَهُمۡwa-humwhile theyفِيfee(are) inغَفۡلَةٖg̣aflatimheedlessnessمُّعۡرِضُونَmuʻriḍoon.turning away١
21:2مَاMaa-Notيَأۡتِيهِمyaʹteehimcomes to themمِّنmiñofذِكۡرٖẒikrima ReminderمِّنmirfromرَّبِّهِمRabbihimtheir Lordمُّحۡدَثٍmuḥdas̤inanewإِلَّاʹillasexceptٱسۡتَمَعُوهُtamaʻoohuthey listen to itوَهُمۡwa-humwhile theyيَلۡعَبُونَyalʻaboon,(are at) play٢
21:3لَاهِيَةٗLaahiyatañDistractedقُلُوبُهُمۡۗq̣uloobuhum.their heartsوَأَسَرُّواْWa-ʹasarrunAnd they concealٱلنَّجۡوَىnajwalthe private conversationٱلَّذِينَlaẓeenathose whoظَلَمُواْz̤̣alamoo[they] wrongedهَلۡhalIsهَٰذَآhaaẓaaathisإِلَّاʹillaaexceptبَشَرٞbasharuma human beingمِّثۡلُكُمۡۖmis̤lukum?like youأَفَتَأۡتُونَʹAfataʹtoonasSo would you approachٱلسِّحۡرَsiḥrathe magicوَأَنتُمۡwa-ʹañtumwhile youتُبۡصِرُونَtubṣiroon?see (it)٣
21:4قَالَQ̣aalaHe saidرَبِّيRabbeeMy LordيَعۡلَمُyaʻlamulknowsٱلۡقَوۡلَQ̣awlathe wordفِيfisinٱلسَّمَآءِsamaaaʹithe heavensوَٱلۡأَرۡضِۖwal-ʹarḍ:and the earthوَهُوَwa-HuwasAnd HeٱلسَّمِيعُSameeʻul(is) the All-HearerٱلۡعَلِيمُʻAleem.the All-Knower٤
21:5بَلۡBalNayقَالُوٓاْq̣aalooothey sayأَضۡغَٰثُʹaḍg̣aas̤uMuddledأَحۡلَٰمِۭʹaḥlaamimdreamsبَلِbalnayٱفۡتَرَىٰهُiftaraahuhe (has) invented itبَلۡbalnayهُوَhuwaheشَاعِرٞshaaʻir!(is) a poetفَلۡيَأۡتِنَاfal-yaʹtinaaSo let him bring usبِـَٔايَةٖbiʹAayatiña signكَمَآkamaaalike whatأُرۡسِلَʹursilalwas sentٱلۡأَوَّلُونَʹawwaloon!(to) the former٥
21:6مَآMaaaNotءَامَنَتۡʹaamanatbelievedقَبۡلَهُمq̣ablahumbefore themمِّنmiñanyقَرۡيَةٍq̣aryatintownأَهۡلَكۡنَٰهَآۖʹahlaknaahaa:which We destroyedأَفَهُمۡʹa-fahumso will theyيُؤۡمِنُونَyuʹminoon?believe٦
21:7وَمَآWa-maaaAnd notأَرۡسَلۡنَاʹarsalnaaWe sentقَبۡلَكَq̣ablakabefore youإِلَّاʹillaaexceptرِجَالٗاrijaalanmenنُّوحِيٓnooḥeeeWe revealedإِلَيۡهِمۡۖʹilayhimto themفَسۡـَٔلُوٓاْfasʹaloooSo askأَهۡلَʹAhlaẓ(the) peopleٱلذِّكۡرِẒikri(of) the Reminderإِنʹiñifكُنتُمۡkuñtumyouلَاlaa-(do) notتَعۡلَمُونَtaʻlamoon.know٧
21:8وَمَاWa-maaAnd notجَعَلۡنَٰهُمۡjaʻalnaahumWe made themجَسَدٗاjasadalbodiesلَّاlaanotيَأۡكُلُونَyaʹkuloonaṭeatingٱلطَّعَامَṭaʻaamathe foodوَمَاwa-maaand notكَانُواْkaanoothey wereخَٰلِدِينَkhaalideen.immortals٨
21:9ثُمَّS̤ummaThenصَدَقۡنَٰهُمُṣadaq̣naahumulWe fulfilled (for) themٱلۡوَعۡدَwaʻdathe promiseفَأَنجَيۡنَٰهُمۡfaʹañjaynaahumand We saved themوَمَنwa-manand whomنَّشَآءُnashaaaʹuWe willedوَأَهۡلَكۡنَاwa-ʹahlaknaland We destroyedٱلۡمُسۡرِفِينَmusrifeen.the transgressors٩
21:10لَقَدۡLaq̣adIndeedأَنزَلۡنَآʹañzalnaaaWe (have) sent downإِلَيۡكُمۡʹilaykumto youكِتَٰبٗاKitaabaña Bookفِيهِfeehiin itذِكۡرُكُمۡۚẒikrukum:(is) your mentionأَفَلَاʹafalaaThen will notتَعۡقِلُونَtaʻq̣iloon?you use reason١٠
