قَالُواْ
Q̣aaloo
They said
يَٰمُوسَىٰٓ
yaa-Moosaaa
O Musa
إِمَّآ
ʹimmaaa
Either
أَن
ʹañ
[that]
تُلۡقِيَ
tulq̣iya
you throw
وَإِمَّآ
wa-ʹimmaaa
or
أَن
ʹan
[that]
نَّكُونَ
nakoona
we will be
أَوَّلَ
ʹawwala
the first
مَنۡ
man
who
أَلۡقَىٰ
ʹalq̣aa?
throws
٦٥
20:66
قَالَ
Q̣aala
He said
بَلۡ
bal
Nay
أَلۡقُواْۖ
ʹalq̣oo!
you throw
فَإِذَا
Faʹiẓaa
Then behold
حِبَالُهُمۡ
ḥibaaluhum
Their ropes
وَعِصِيُّهُمۡ
wa-ʻiṣiyyuhum
and their staffs
يُخَيَّلُ
yukhayyalu
seemed
إِلَيۡهِ
ʹilayhi
to him
مِن
miñ
by
سِحۡرِهِمۡ
siḥrihim
their magic
أَنَّهَا
ʹannahaa
that they
تَسۡعَىٰ
tasʻaa!
(were) moving
٦٦
20:67
فَأَوۡجَسَ
Faʹawjasa
So sensed
فِي
fee
in
نَفۡسِهِۦ
nafsihee
himself
خِيفَةٗ
kheefatam
a fear
مُّوسَىٰ
Moosaa.
Musa
٦٧
20:68
قُلۡنَا
Q̣ulnaa
We said
لَا
laa-
(Do) not
تَخَفۡ
takhaf
fear
إِنَّكَ
ʹinnaka
Indeed you
أَنتَ
ʹantal
you
ٱلۡأَعۡلَىٰ
ʹaʻlaa:
(will be) superior
٦٨
20:69
وَأَلۡقِ
Waʹalq̣i
And throw
مَا
maa-
what
فِي
fee
(is) in
يَمِينِكَ
yameenika
your right hand
تَلۡقَفۡ
talq̣af
it will swallow up
مَا
maa-
what
صَنَعُوٓاْۖ
ṣanaʻoo.
they have made
إِنَّمَا
ʹInnamaa
Only
صَنَعُواْ
ṣanaʻoo
they (have) made
كَيۡدُ
kaydu
a trick
سَٰحِرٖۖ
saaḥir:
(of) a magician
وَلَا
wa-laa
and not
يُفۡلِحُ
yufliḥus
will be successful
ٱلسَّاحِرُ
saaḥiru
the magician
حَيۡثُ
ḥays̤u
wherever
أَتَىٰ
ʹataa.
he comes
٦٩
20:70
فَأُلۡقِيَ
Faʹulq̣iyas
So were thrown down
ٱلسَّحَرَةُ
saharatu
the magicians
سُجَّدٗا
sujjadañ
prostrating
قَالُوٓاْ
q̣aalooo
They said
ءَامَنَّا
ʹaamannaa
We believe
بِرَبِّ
bi-Rabbi
in (the) Lord
هَٰرُونَ
Haaroona
(of) Harun
وَمُوسَىٰ
wa-Moosaa.
and Musa
٧٠
20:71
قَالَ
Q̣aala
He said
ءَامَنتُمۡ
ʹaamañtum
You believe
لَهُۥ
lahoo
[to] him
قَبۡلَ
q̣abla
before
أَنۡ
ʹan
[that]
ءَاذَنَ
ʹaaẓana
I gave permission
لَكُمۡۖ
lakum?
to you
إِنَّهُۥ
ʹInnahoo
Indeed he
لَكَبِيرُكُمُ
lakabeerukumul
(is) your chief
ٱلَّذِي
laẓee
the one who
عَلَّمَكُمُ
ʻallamakumus
taught you
ٱلسِّحۡرَۖ
siḥr!
the magic
فَلَأُقَطِّعَنَّ
Falaʹuq̣aṭṭiʻanna
So surely I will cut off
أَيۡدِيَكُمۡ
ʹaydiyakum
your hands
وَأَرۡجُلَكُم
wa-ʹarjulakum
and your feet
مِّنۡ
min
of
خِلَٰفٖ
khilaafiñw
opposite sides
وَلَأُصَلِّبَنَّكُمۡ
walaʹuṣallibannakum
and surely I will crucify you
فِي
fee
on
جُذُوعِ
juẓooʻin
(the) trunks
ٱلنَّخۡلِ
nakhl:
(of) date-palms
وَلَتَعۡلَمُنَّ
wa-lataʻlamunna
and surely you will know
أَيُّنَآ
ʹayyunaaa
which of us
أَشَدُّ
ʹashaddu
(is) more severe
عَذَابٗا
ʻaẓaabañw
(in) punishment
وَأَبۡقَىٰ
Waʹabq̣aa!
and more lasting
٧١
20:72
قَالُواْ
Q̣aaloo
They said
لَن
lan
Never
نُّؤۡثِرَكَ
nuʹs̤iraka
we will prefer you
عَلَىٰ
ʻalaa
over
مَا
maa-
what
جَآءَنَا
jaaaʹanaa
has come to us
مِنَ
minal
of
ٱلۡبَيِّنَٰتِ
Bayyinaati
the clear proofs
وَٱلَّذِي
wallaẓee
and the One Who
فَطَرَنَاۖ
faṭaranaa
created us
فَٱقۡضِ
faq̣ḍi
So decree
مَآ
maaa
whatever
أَنتَ
ʹañta
you
قَاضٍۖ
q̣aaḍ.
(are) decreeing
إِنَّمَا
ʹInnamaa
Only
تَقۡضِي
taq̣ḍee
you can decree
هَٰذِهِ
haaẓihil
(for) this
ٱلۡحَيَوٰةَ
ḥayaatad
life
ٱلدُّنۡيَآ
dunyaa.
(of) the world
٧٢
20:73
إِنَّآ
ʹInnaaa
Indeed [we]
ءَامَنَّا
ʹaamannaa
we believe
بِرَبِّنَا
bi-Rabbinaa
in our Lord
لِيَغۡفِرَ
liyag̣fira
that He may forgive
لَنَا
lanaa
for us
خَطَٰيَٰنَا
khaṭaayaanaa
our sins
وَمَآ
wa-maaa
and what
أَكۡرَهۡتَنَا
ʹakrahtanaa
you compelled us
عَلَيۡهِ
ʻalayhi
on it
مِنَ
minas
of
ٱلسِّحۡرِۗ
siḥr:
the magic
وَٱللَّهُ
wallaahu
And Allah
خَيۡرٞ
Khayruñw
(is) Best
وَأَبۡقَىٰٓ
WaʹAbq̣aa.
and Ever Lasting
٧٣
20:74
إِنَّهُۥ
ʹInnahoo
Indeed he
مَن
mañy
who
يَأۡتِ
yaʹti
comes
رَبَّهُۥ
Rabbahoo
(to) his Lord
مُجۡرِمٗا
mujrimañ
(as) a criminal
فَإِنَّ
faʹinna
then indeed
لَهُۥ
lahoo
for him
جَهَنَّمَ
Jahannam:
(is) Hell
لَا
laa-
Not
يَمُوتُ
yamootu
he will die
فِيهَا
feehaa
in it
وَلَا
wa-laa
and not
يَحۡيَىٰ
yaḥyaa.
live
٧٤
20:75
وَمَن
Wa-mañy
But whoever
يَأۡتِهِۦ
yaʹtihee
comes to Him
مُؤۡمِنٗا
Muʹminañ
(as) a believer
قَدۡ
q̣ad
verily
عَمِلَ
ʻamilaṣ
he has done
ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ
ṣaaliḥaati
the righteous deeds
فَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ
faʹulaaaʹika
then those
لَهُمُ
lahumud
for them
ٱلدَّرَجَٰتُ
darajaatul
(will be) the ranks
ٱلۡعُلَىٰ
ʻulaa,
[the] high
٧٥
20:76
جَنَّٰتُ
Jannaatu
Gardens
عَدۡنٖ
ʻAdniñ
(of) Eden
تَجۡرِي
tajree
flows
مِن
miñ
from
تَحۡتِهَا
taḥtihal
underneath them
ٱلۡأَنۡهَٰرُ
ʹanhaaru
the rivers
خَٰلِدِينَ
khaalideena
abiding forever
فِيهَاۚ
feehaa:
in it
وَذَٰلِكَ
waẓaalika
And that
جَزَآءُ
jazaaaʹu
(is) the reward
مَن
mañ
(for him) who
تَزَكَّىٰ
tazakkaa.
purifies himself
٧٦
