قَالُواْ

يَٰمُوسَىٰٓ

O Musa
إِمَّآ
imma
Either
أَن
an
[that]
تُلۡقِيَ
tul'qiya
you throw
وَإِمَّآ
wa-imma
or
أَن
an
[that]
نَّكُونَ
nakuna
we will be
أَوَّلَ
awwala
the first
مَنۡ
man
who
أَلۡقَىٰ
alqa
throws
٦٥
20:66
قَالَ
qala
He said
بَلۡ
bal
Nay
أَلۡقُواْۖ
alqu
you throw
فَإِذَا
fa-idha
Then behold
حِبَالُهُمۡ
hibaluhum
Their ropes
وَعِصِيُّهُمۡ
wa'isiyyuhum
and their staffs
يُخَيَّلُ
yukhayyalu
seemed
إِلَيۡهِ
ilayhi
to him
مِن
min
by
سِحۡرِهِمۡ
sih'rihim
their magic
أَنَّهَا
annaha
that they
تَسۡعَىٰ
tas'a
(were) moving
٦٦
20:67
فَأَوۡجَسَ
fa-awjasa
So sensed
فِي
fi
in
نَفۡسِهِۦ
nafsihi
himself
خِيفَةٗ
khifatan
a fear
مُّوسَىٰ
musa
Musa
٦٧
20:68
قُلۡنَا
qul'na
We said
لَا
la
(Do) not
تَخَفۡ
takhaf
fear
إِنَّكَ
innaka
Indeed you
أَنتَ
anta
you
ٱلۡأَعۡلَىٰ
al-a'la
(will be) superior
٦٨
20:69
وَأَلۡقِ
wa-alqi
And throw
مَا
ma
what
فِي
fi
(is) in
يَمِينِكَ
yaminika
your right hand
تَلۡقَفۡ
talqaf
it will swallow up
مَا
ma
what
صَنَعُوٓاْۖ
sana'u
they have made
إِنَّمَا
innama
Only
صَنَعُواْ
sana'u
they (have) made
كَيۡدُ
kaydu
a trick
سَٰحِرٖۖ
sahirin
(of) a magician
وَلَا
wala
and not
يُفۡلِحُ
yuf'lihu
will be successful
ٱلسَّاحِرُ
al-sahiru
the magician
حَيۡثُ
haythu
wherever
أَتَىٰ
ata
he comes
٦٩
20:70
فَأُلۡقِيَ
fa-ul'qiya
So were thrown down
ٱلسَّحَرَةُ
al-saharatu
the magicians
سُجَّدٗا
sujjadan
prostrating
قَالُوٓاْ
qalu
They said
ءَامَنَّا
amanna
We believe
بِرَبِّ
birabbi
in (the) Lord
هَٰرُونَ
haruna
(of) Harun
وَمُوسَىٰ
wamusa
and Musa
٧٠
20:71
قَالَ
qala
He said
ءَامَنتُمۡ
amantum
You believe
لَهُۥ
lahu
[to] him
قَبۡلَ
qabla
before
أَنۡ
an
[that]
ءَاذَنَ
adhana
I gave permission
لَكُمۡۖ
lakum
to you
إِنَّهُۥ
innahu
Indeed he
لَكَبِيرُكُمُ
lakabirukumu
(is) your chief
ٱلَّذِي
alladhi
the one who
عَلَّمَكُمُ
allamakumu
taught you
ٱلسِّحۡرَۖ
al-sih'ra
the magic
فَلَأُقَطِّعَنَّ
fala-uqatti'anna
So surely I will cut off
أَيۡدِيَكُمۡ
aydiyakum
your hands
وَأَرۡجُلَكُم
wa-arjulakum
and your feet
مِّنۡ
min
of
خِلَٰفٖ
khilafin
opposite sides
وَلَأُصَلِّبَنَّكُمۡ
wala-usallibannakum
and surely I will crucify you
فِي
fi
on
جُذُوعِ
judhu'i
(the) trunks
ٱلنَّخۡلِ
al-nakhli
(of) date-palms
وَلَتَعۡلَمُنَّ
walata'lamunna
and surely you will know
أَيُّنَآ
ayyuna
which of us
أَشَدُّ
ashaddu
(is) more severe
عَذَابٗا
adhaban
(in) punishment
وَأَبۡقَىٰ
wa-abqa
and more lasting
٧١
20:72
قَالُواْ
qalu
They said
لَن
lan
Never
نُّؤۡثِرَكَ
nu'thiraka
we will prefer you
عَلَىٰ
ala
over
مَا
ma
what
جَآءَنَا
jaana
has come to us
مِنَ
mina
of
ٱلۡبَيِّنَٰتِ
al-bayinati
the clear proofs
وَٱلَّذِي
wa-alladhi
and the One Who
فَطَرَنَاۖ
fatarana
created us
فَٱقۡضِ
fa-iq'di
So decree
مَآ
ma
whatever
أَنتَ
anta
you
قَاضٍۖ
qadin
(are) decreeing
إِنَّمَا
innama
Only
تَقۡضِي
taqdi
you can decree
هَٰذِهِ
hadhihi
(for) this
ٱلۡحَيَوٰةَ
al-hayata
life
ٱلدُّنۡيَآ
al-dun'ya
(of) the world
٧٢
20:73
إِنَّآ
inna
Indeed [we]
ءَامَنَّا
amanna
we believe
بِرَبِّنَا
birabbina
in our Lord
لِيَغۡفِرَ
liyaghfira
that He may forgive
لَنَا
lana
for us
خَطَٰيَٰنَا
khatayana
our sins
وَمَآ
wama
and what
أَكۡرَهۡتَنَا
akrahtana
you compelled us
عَلَيۡهِ
alayhi
on it
مِنَ
mina
of
ٱلسِّحۡرِۗ
al-sih'ri
the magic
وَٱللَّهُ
wal-lahu
And Allah
خَيۡرٞ
khayrun
(is) Best
وَأَبۡقَىٰٓ
wa-abqa
and Ever Lasting
٧٣
20:74
إِنَّهُۥ
innahu
Indeed he
مَن
man
who
يَأۡتِ
yati
comes
رَبَّهُۥ
rabbahu
(to) his Lord
مُجۡرِمٗا
muj'riman
(as) a criminal
فَإِنَّ
fa-inna
then indeed
لَهُۥ
lahu
for him
جَهَنَّمَ
jahannama
(is) Hell
لَا
la
Not
يَمُوتُ
yamutu
he will die
فِيهَا
fiha
in it
وَلَا
wala
and not
يَحۡيَىٰ
yahya
live
٧٤
20:75
وَمَن
waman
But whoever
يَأۡتِهِۦ
yatihi
comes to Him
مُؤۡمِنٗا
mu'minan
(as) a believer
قَدۡ
qad
verily
عَمِلَ
amila
he has done
ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ
al-salihati
the righteous deeds
فَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ
fa-ulaika
then those
لَهُمُ
lahumu
for them
ٱلدَّرَجَٰتُ
al-darajatu
(will be) the ranks
ٱلۡعُلَىٰ
al-'ula
[the] high
٧٥
20:76
جَنَّٰتُ
jannatu
Gardens
عَدۡنٖ
adnin
(of) Eden
تَجۡرِي
tajri
flows
مِن
min
from
تَحۡتِهَا
tahtiha
underneath them
ٱلۡأَنۡهَٰرُ
al-anharu
the rivers
خَٰلِدِينَ
khalidina
abiding forever
فِيهَاۚ
fiha
in it
وَذَٰلِكَ
wadhalika
And that
جَزَآءُ
jazau
(is) the reward
مَن
man
(for him) who
تَزَكَّىٰ
tazakka
purifies himself
٧٦
