19:12يَٰيَحۡيَىٰyayahyaO YahyaخُذِkhudhiHoldٱلۡكِتَٰبَal-kitabathe Scriptureبِقُوَّةٖۖbiquwwatinwith strengthوَءَاتَيۡنَٰهُwaataynahuAnd We gave himٱلۡحُكۡمَal-huk'ma[the] wisdomصَبِيّٗاsabiyyan(when he was) a child١٢
19:13وَحَنَانٗاwahanananAnd affectionمِّنminfromلَّدُنَّاladunnaUsوَزَكَوٰةٗۖwazakatanand purityوَكَانَwakanaand he wasتَقِيّٗاtaqiyyanrighteous١٣
19:14وَبَرَّۢاwabarranAnd dutifulبِوَٰلِدَيۡهِbiwalidayhito his parentsوَلَمۡwalamand notيَكُنyakunhe wasجَبَّارًاjabbarana tyrantعَصِيّٗاasiyyandisobedient١٤
19:15وَسَلَٰمٌwasalamunAnd peace beعَلَيۡهِalayhiupon himيَوۡمَyawma(the) dayوُلِدَwulidahe was bornوَيَوۡمَwayawmaand (the) dayيَمُوتُyamutuhe diesوَيَوۡمَwayawmaand (the) dayيُبۡعَثُyub'athuhe will be raisedحَيّٗاhayyanalive١٥
19:16وَٱذۡكُرۡwa-udh'kurAnd mentionفِيfiinٱلۡكِتَٰبِal-kitabithe BookمَرۡيَمَmaryamaMaryamإِذِidhiwhenٱنتَبَذَتۡintabadhatshe withdrewمِنۡminfromأَهۡلِهَاahlihaher familyمَكَانٗاmakanan(to) a placeشَرۡقِيّٗاsharqiyyaneastern١٦
19:17فَٱتَّخَذَتۡfa-ittakhadhatThen she tookمِنminfrom themدُونِهِمۡdunihimfrom themحِجَابٗاhijabana screenفَأَرۡسَلۡنَآfa-arsalnaThen We sentإِلَيۡهَاilayhato herرُوحَنَاruhanaOur Spiritفَتَمَثَّلَfatamathalathen he assumed for her the likenessلَهَاlahathen he assumed for her the likenessبَشَرٗاbasharan(of) a manسَوِيّٗاsawiyyanwell-proportioned١٧
19:18قَالَتۡqalatShe saidإِنِّيٓinniIndeed Iأَعُوذُa'udhu[I] seek refugeبِٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِbil-rahmaniwith the Most Graciousمِنكَminkafrom youإِنinifكُنتَkuntayou areتَقِيّٗاtaqiyyanGod fearing١٨
19:19قَالَqalaHe saidإِنَّمَآinnamaOnlyأَنَا۠anaI amرَسُولُrasulua Messengerرَبِّكِrabbiki(from) your Lordلِأَهَبَli-ahabathat I (may) bestowلَكِlakion youغُلَٰمٗاghulamana sonزَكِيّٗاzakiyyanpure١٩
19:20قَالَتۡqalatShe saidأَنَّىٰannaHowيَكُونُyakunucan beلِيlifor meغُلَٰمٞghulamuna sonوَلَمۡwalamwhen notيَمۡسَسۡنِيyamsasnihas touched meبَشَرٞbasharuna manوَلَمۡwalamand notأَكُakuI amبَغِيّٗاbaghiyyanunchaste٢٠
19:21قَالَqalaHe saidكَذَٰلِكِkadhalikiThusقَالَqalasaidرَبُّكِrabbukiyour LordهُوَhuwaItعَلَيَّalayya(is) for Meهَيِّنٞۖhayyinuneasyوَلِنَجۡعَلَهُۥٓwalinaj'alahuand so that We will make himءَايَةٗayatana signلِّلنَّاسِlilnnasifor the mankindوَرَحۡمَةٗwarahmatanand a Mercyمِّنَّاۚminnafrom UsوَكَانَwakanaAnd (it) isأَمۡرٗاamrana matterمَّقۡضِيّٗاmaqdiyyandecreed٢١
19:22۞فَحَمَلَتۡهُfahamalathuSo she conceived himفَٱنتَبَذَتۡfa-intabadhatand she withdrewبِهِۦbihiwith himمَكَانٗاmakanan(to) a placeقَصِيّٗاqasiyyanremote٢٢
19:23فَأَجَآءَهَاfa-ajaahaThen drove herٱلۡمَخَاضُal-makhaduthe pains of childbirthإِلَىٰilatoجِذۡعِjidh'i(the) trunkٱلنَّخۡلَةِal-nakhlati(of) the date-palmقَالَتۡqalatShe saidيَٰلَيۡتَنِيyalaytaniO! I wishمِتُّmittuI (had) diedقَبۡلَqablabeforeهَٰذَاhadhathisوَكُنتُwakuntuand I wasنَسۡيٗاnasyan(in) oblivionمَّنسِيّٗاmansiyyanforgotten٢٣
19:24فَنَادَىٰهَاfanadahaSo cried to herمِنminfromتَحۡتِهَآtahtihabeneath herأَلَّاallaThat (do) notتَحۡزَنِيtahzanigrieveقَدۡqadverilyجَعَلَja'ala(has) placedرَبُّكِrabbukiyour Lordتَحۡتَكِtahtakibeneath youسَرِيّٗاsariyyana stream٢٤
19:25وَهُزِّيٓwahuzziAnd shakeإِلَيۡكِilaykitowards youبِجِذۡعِbijidh'i(the) trunkٱلنَّخۡلَةِal-nakhlati(of) the date-palmتُسَٰقِطۡtusaqitit will dropعَلَيۡكِalaykiupon youرُطَبٗاrutabanfresh datesجَنِيّٗاjaniyyanripe٢٥
