Certainly
لَقِينَا

we have suffered

سَفَرِنَا

our journey
هَٰذَا
hadha
this
نَصَبٗا
nasaban
fatigue
٦٢
18:63
قَالَ
qala
He said
أَرَءَيۡتَ
ara-ayta
Did you see
إِذۡ
idh
when
أَوَيۡنَآ
awayna
we retired
إِلَى
ila
to
ٱلصَّخۡرَةِ
al-sakhrati
the rock
فَإِنِّي
fa-inni
Then indeed I
نَسِيتُ
nasitu
[I] forgot
ٱلۡحُوتَ
al-huta
the fish
وَمَآ
wama
And not
أَنسَىٰنِيهُ
ansanihu
made me forget it
إِلَّا
illa
except
ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنُ
al-shaytanu
the Shaitaan
أَنۡ
an
that
أَذۡكُرَهُۥۚ
adhkurahu
I mention it
وَٱتَّخَذَ
wa-ittakhadha
And it took
سَبِيلَهُۥ
sabilahu
its way
فِي
fi
into
ٱلۡبَحۡرِ
al-bahri
the sea
عَجَبٗا
ajaban
amazingly
٦٣
18:64
قَالَ
qala
He said
ذَٰلِكَ
dhalika
That
مَا
ma
(is) what
كُنَّا
kunna
we were
نَبۡغِۚ
nabghi
seeking
فَٱرۡتَدَّا
fa-ir'tadda
So they returned
عَلَىٰٓ
ala
on
ءَاثَارِهِمَا
atharihima
their footprints
قَصَصٗا
qasasan
retracing
٦٤
18:65
فَوَجَدَا
fawajada
Then they found
عَبۡدٗا
abdan
a servant
مِّنۡ
min
from
عِبَادِنَآ
ibadina
Our servants
ءَاتَيۡنَٰهُ
ataynahu
whom We had given
رَحۡمَةٗ
rahmatan
mercy
مِّنۡ
min
from
عِندِنَا
indina
Us
وَعَلَّمۡنَٰهُ
wa'allamnahu
and We had taught him
مِن
min
from
لَّدُنَّا
ladunna
Us
عِلۡمٗا
il'man
a knowledge
٦٥
18:66
قَالَ
qala
Said
لَهُۥ
lahu
to him
مُوسَىٰ
musa
Musa
هَلۡ
hal
May
أَتَّبِعُكَ
attabi'uka
I follow you
عَلَىٰٓ
ala
on
أَن
an
that
تُعَلِّمَنِ
tu'allimani
you teach me
مِمَّا
mimma
of what
عُلِّمۡتَ
ullim'ta
you have been taught
رُشۡدٗا
rush'dan
(of) right guidance
٦٦
18:67
قَالَ
qala
He said
إِنَّكَ
innaka
Indeed you
لَن
lan
never
تَسۡتَطِيعَ
tastati'a
will be able
مَعِيَ
ma'iya
with me
صَبۡرٗا
sabran
(to have) patience
٦٧
18:68
وَكَيۡفَ
wakayfa
And how can
تَصۡبِرُ
tasbiru
you have patience
عَلَىٰ
ala
for
مَا
ma
what
لَمۡ
lam
not
تُحِطۡ
tuhit
you encompass
بِهِۦ
bihi
of it
خُبۡرٗا
khub'ran
any knowledge
٦٨
18:69
قَالَ
qala
He said
سَتَجِدُنِيٓ
satajiduni
You will find me
إِن
in
if
شَآءَ
shaa
Allah wills
ٱللَّهُ
al-lahu
Allah wills
صَابِرٗا
sabiran
patient
وَلَآ
wala
and not
أَعۡصِي
a'si
I will disobey
لَكَ
laka
your
أَمۡرٗا
amran
order
٦٩
18:70
قَالَ
qala
He said
فَإِنِ
fa-ini
Then if
ٱتَّبَعۡتَنِي
ittaba'tani
you follow me
فَلَا
fala
(do) not
تَسۡـَٔلۡنِي
tasalni
ask me
عَن
an
about
شَيۡءٍ
shayin
anything
حَتَّىٰٓ
hatta
until
أُحۡدِثَ
uh'ditha
I present
لَكَ
laka
to you
مِنۡهُ
min'hu
of it
ذِكۡرٗا
dhik'ran
a mention
٧٠
18:71
فَٱنطَلَقَا
fa-intalaqa
So they both set out
حَتَّىٰٓ
hatta
until
إِذَا
idha
when
رَكِبَا
rakiba
they had embarked
فِي
fi
on
ٱلسَّفِينَةِ
al-safinati
the ship
خَرَقَهَاۖ
kharaqaha
he made a hole in it
قَالَ
qala
He said
أَخَرَقۡتَهَا
akharaqtaha
Have you made a hole in it
لِتُغۡرِقَ
litugh'riqa
to drown
أَهۡلَهَا
ahlaha
its people
لَقَدۡ
laqad
Certainly
جِئۡتَ
ji'ta
you have done
شَيۡـًٔا
shayan
a thing
إِمۡرٗا
im'ran
grave
٧١
18:72
قَالَ
qala
He said
أَلَمۡ
alam
Did not
أَقُلۡ
aqul
I say
إِنَّكَ
innaka
indeed you
لَن
lan
never
تَسۡتَطِيعَ
tastati'a
will be able
مَعِيَ
ma'iya
with me
صَبۡرٗا
sabran
(to have) patience
٧٢
18:73
قَالَ
qala
He said
لَا
la
(Do) not
تُؤَاخِذۡنِي
tuakhidh'ni
blame me
بِمَا
bima
for what
نَسِيتُ
nasitu
I forgot
وَلَا
wala
and (do) not
تُرۡهِقۡنِي
tur'hiq'ni
be hard (upon) me
مِنۡ
min
in
أَمۡرِي
amri
my affair
عُسۡرٗا
us'ran
(raising) difficulty
٧٣
18:74
فَٱنطَلَقَا
fa-intalaqa
Then they both set out
حَتَّىٰٓ
hatta
until
إِذَا
idha
when
لَقِيَا
laqiya
they met
غُلَٰمٗا
ghulaman
a boy
فَقَتَلَهُۥ
faqatalahu
then he killed him
قَالَ
qala
He said
أَقَتَلۡتَ
aqatalta
Have you killed
نَفۡسٗا
nafsan
a soul
زَكِيَّةَۢ
zakiyyatan
pure
بِغَيۡرِ
bighayri
for other than
نَفۡسٖ
nafsin
a soul
لَّقَدۡ
laqad
Certainly
جِئۡتَ
ji'ta
you have done
شَيۡـٔٗا
shayan
a thing
نُّكۡرٗا
nuk'ran
evil
