17:8
عَسَىٰ
ʻAsaa
(It) may be
رَبُّكُمۡ
Rabbukum
that your Lord
أَن
ʹañy
that your Lord
يَرۡحَمَكُمۡۚ
yarḥamakum;
(may) have mercy upon you
وَإِنۡ
wa-ʹin
But if
عُدتُّمۡ
ʻuttum
you return
عُدۡنَاۚ
ʻudnaa.
We will return
وَجَعَلۡنَا
Wa-jaʻalnaa
And We have made
جَهَنَّمَ
Jahannama
Hell
لِلۡكَٰفِرِينَ
lilkaafireena
for the disbelievers
حَصِيرًا
ḥaṣeeraa.
a prison-bed
٨
17:9
إِنَّ
ʹInna
Indeed
هَٰذَا
haaẓal
this
ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ
Q̣urʹaana
the Quran
يَهۡدِي
yahdee
guides
لِلَّتِي
lillatee
to that
هِيَ
hiya
which
أَقۡوَمُ
ʹaq̣wamu
(is) most straight
وَيُبَشِّرُ
wa-yubashshirul
and gives glad tidings
ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
Muʹmineenal
to the believers
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those who
يَعۡمَلُونَ
yaʻmaloonaṣ
do
ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ
ṣaaliḥaati
the righteous deeds
أَنَّ
ʹanna
that
لَهُمۡ
lahum
for them
أَجۡرٗا
ʹajrañ
(is) a reward
كَبِيرٗا
kabeeraa;
great
٩
17:10
وَأَنَّ
Waʹannal
And that
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those who
لَا
laa-
(do) not
يُؤۡمِنُونَ
yuʹminoona
believe
بِٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ
bil-ʹAakhirati
in the Hereafter
أَعۡتَدۡنَا
ʹaʻtadnaa
We have prepared
لَهُمۡ
lahum
for them
عَذَابًا
ʻAẓaaban
a punishment
أَلِيمٗا
ʹaleemaa.
painful
١٠
17:11
وَيَدۡعُ
Wa-yadʻul
And prays
ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ
ʹiñsaanu
the man
بِٱلشَّرِّ
bishsharri
for evil
دُعَآءَهُۥ
duʻaaʹahoo
(as) he prays
بِٱلۡخَيۡرِۖ
bilkhayr;
for the good
وَكَانَ
wa-kaanal
And is
ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ
ʹiñsaanu
the man
عَجُولٗا
ʻajoolaa.
ever hasty
١١
17:12
وَجَعَلۡنَا
Wa-jaʻalnal
And We have made
ٱلَّيۡلَ
Layla
the night
وَٱلنَّهَارَ
wan-Nahaara
and the day
ءَايَتَيۡنِۖ
ʹAayatayni
(as) two signs
فَمَحَوۡنَآ
famaḥawnaaa
Then We erased
ءَايَةَ
ʹAayatal
(the) sign
ٱلَّيۡلِ
Layli
(of) the night
وَجَعَلۡنَآ
wa-jaʻalnaaa
and We made
ءَايَةَ
ʹAayatan
(the) sign
ٱلنَّهَارِ
Nahaari
(of) the day
مُبۡصِرَةٗ
mubṣiratal
visible
لِّتَبۡتَغُواْ
litabtag̣oo
that you may seek
فَضۡلٗا
faḍlam
bounty
مِّن
mir
from
رَّبِّكُمۡ
rabbikum
your Lord
وَلِتَعۡلَمُواْ
wa-litaʻlamoo
and that you may know
عَدَدَ
ʻadadas
(the) number
ٱلسِّنِينَ
sineena
(of) the years
وَٱلۡحِسَابَۚ
walḥisaab:
and the account
وَكُلَّ
wa-kulla
And every
شَيۡءٖ
shayʹiñ
thing
فَصَّلۡنَٰهُ
faṣṣalnaahu
We have explained it
تَفۡصِيلٗا
tafṣeelaa.
(in) detail
١٢
17:13
وَكُلَّ
Wa-kulla
And (for) every
إِنسَٰنٍ
ʹiñsaanin
man
أَلۡزَمۡنَٰهُ
ʹalzamnaahu
We have fastened to him
طَٰٓئِرَهُۥ
ṭaaaʹirahoo
his fate
فِي
fee
in
عُنُقِهِۦۖ
ʻunuq̣ih:
his neck
وَنُخۡرِجُ
wa-nukhriju
and We will bring forth
لَهُۥ
lahoo
for him
يَوۡمَ
Yawmal
(on the) Day
ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِ
Q̣iyaamati
(of) the Resurrection
كِتَٰبٗا
kitaabañy
a record
يَلۡقَىٰهُ
yalq̣aahu
which he will find
مَنشُورًا
mañshooraa.
wide open
١٣
17:14
ٱقۡرَأۡ
ʹIq̣raʹ
Read
كِتَٰبَكَ
kitaabaka
your record
كَفَىٰ
kafaa
Sufficient
بِنَفۡسِكَ
binafsikal
(is) yourself
ٱلۡيَوۡمَ
yawma
today
عَلَيۡكَ
ʻalayka
against you
حَسِيبٗا
ḥaseebaa.
(as) accountant
١٤
17:15
مَّنِ
Manih
Whoever
ٱهۡتَدَىٰ
tadaa
(is) guided
فَإِنَّمَا
faʹinnamaa
then only
يَهۡتَدِي
yahtadee
he is guided
لِنَفۡسِهِۦۖ
linafsih:
for his soul
وَمَن
Wa-mañ
And whoever
ضَلَّ
ḍalla
goes astray
فَإِنَّمَا
faʹinnamaa
then only
يَضِلُّ
yaḍillu
he goes astray
عَلَيۡهَاۚ
ʻalayhaa:
against it
وَلَا
wa-laa
And not
تَزِرُ
taziru
will bear
وَازِرَةٞ
waaziratuñw
a bearer of burden
وِزۡرَ
wizra
burden
أُخۡرَىٰۗ
ʹukhraa:
(of) another
وَمَا
wa-maa
And not
كُنَّا
kunnaa
We
مُعَذِّبِينَ
muʻaẓẓibeena
are to punish
حَتَّىٰ
ḥattaa
until
نَبۡعَثَ
nabʻas̤a
We have sent
رَسُولٗا
rasoolaa.
a Messenger
١٥
17:16
وَإِذَآ
Wa-ʹiẓaaa
And when
أَرَدۡنَآ
ʹaradnaaa
We intend
أَن
ʹan
that
نُّهۡلِكَ
nuhlika
We destroy
قَرۡيَةً
q̣aryatan
a town
أَمَرۡنَا
ʹamarnaa
We order
مُتۡرَفِيهَا
mutrafeehaa
its wealthy people
فَفَسَقُواْ
fafasaq̣oo
but they defiantly disobey
فِيهَا
feehaa
therein
فَحَقَّ
faḥaq̣q̣a
so (is) proved true
عَلَيۡهَا
ʻalayhal
against it
ٱلۡقَوۡلُ
q̣awlu
the word
فَدَمَّرۡنَٰهَا
fadammarnaahaa
and We destroy it
تَدۡمِيرٗا
tadmeeraa.
(with) destruction
١٦
17:17
وَكَمۡ
Wa-kam
And how many
أَهۡلَكۡنَا
ʹahlaknaa
We destroyed
مِنَ
minal
from
ٱلۡقُرُونِ
q̣urooni
the generations
مِنۢ
mim
after
بَعۡدِ
baʻdi
after
نُوحٖۗ
Nooḥ?
Nuh
وَكَفَىٰ
Wa-kafaa
And sufficient
بِرَبِّكَ
bi-Rabbika
(is) your Lord
بِذُنُوبِ
biẓunoobi
concerning the sins
عِبَادِهِۦ
ʻibaadihee
(of) His servants
خَبِيرَۢا
Khabeeram
All-Aware
بَصِيرٗا
Baṣeeraa.
All-Seer
