عَسَىٰ
asa
(It) may be
رَبُّكُمۡ
rabbukum
that your Lord
أَن
an
that your Lord
يَرۡحَمَكُمۡۚ
yarhamakum
(may) have mercy upon you
وَإِنۡ
wa-in
But if
عُدتُّمۡ
udttum
you return
عُدۡنَاۚ
ud'na
We will return
وَجَعَلۡنَا
waja'alna
And We have made
جَهَنَّمَ
jahannama
Hell
لِلۡكَٰفِرِينَ
lil'kafirina
for the disbelievers
حَصِيرًا
hasiran
a prison-bed
٨
17:9
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
هَٰذَا
hadha
this
ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ
al-qur'ana
the Quran
يَهۡدِي
yahdi
guides
لِلَّتِي
lillati
to that
هِيَ
hiya
which
أَقۡوَمُ
aqwamu
(is) most straight
وَيُبَشِّرُ
wayubashiru
and gives glad tidings
ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
al-mu'minina
to the believers
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhina
those who
يَعۡمَلُونَ
ya'maluna
do
ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ
al-salihati
the righteous deeds
أَنَّ
anna
that
لَهُمۡ
lahum
for them
أَجۡرٗا
ajran
(is) a reward
كَبِيرٗا
kabiran
great
٩
17:10
وَأَنَّ
wa-anna
And that
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhina
those who
لَا
la
(do) not
يُؤۡمِنُونَ
yu'minuna
believe
بِٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ
bil-akhirati
in the Hereafter
أَعۡتَدۡنَا
a'tadna
We have prepared
لَهُمۡ
lahum
for them
عَذَابًا
adhaban
a punishment
أَلِيمٗا
aliman
painful
١٠
17:11
وَيَدۡعُ
wayad'u
And prays
ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ
al-insanu
the man
بِٱلشَّرِّ
bil-shari
for evil
دُعَآءَهُۥ
du'aahu
(as) he prays
بِٱلۡخَيۡرِۖ
bil-khayri
for the good
وَكَانَ
wakana
And is
ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ
al-insanu
the man
عَجُولٗا
ajulan
ever hasty
١١
17:12
وَجَعَلۡنَا
waja'alna
And We have made
ٱلَّيۡلَ
al-layla
the night
وَٱلنَّهَارَ
wal-nahara
and the day
ءَايَتَيۡنِۖ
ayatayni
(as) two signs
فَمَحَوۡنَآ
famahawna
Then We erased
ءَايَةَ
ayata
(the) sign
ٱلَّيۡلِ
al-layli
(of) the night
وَجَعَلۡنَآ
waja'alna
and We made
ءَايَةَ
ayata
(the) sign
ٱلنَّهَارِ
al-nahari
(of) the day
مُبۡصِرَةٗ
mub'siratan
visible
لِّتَبۡتَغُواْ
litabtaghu
that you may seek
فَضۡلٗا
fadlan
bounty
مِّن
min
from
رَّبِّكُمۡ
rabbikum
your Lord
وَلِتَعۡلَمُواْ
walita'lamu
and that you may know
عَدَدَ
adada
(the) number
ٱلسِّنِينَ
al-sinina
(of) the years
وَٱلۡحِسَابَۚ
wal-hisaba
and the account
وَكُلَّ
wakulla
And every
شَيۡءٖ
shayin
thing
فَصَّلۡنَٰهُ
fassalnahu
We have explained it
تَفۡصِيلٗا
tafsilan
(in) detail
١٢
17:13
وَكُلَّ
wakulla
And (for) every
إِنسَٰنٍ
insanin
man
أَلۡزَمۡنَٰهُ
alzamnahu
We have fastened to him
طَٰٓئِرَهُۥ
tairahu
his fate
فِي
fi
in
عُنُقِهِۦۖ
unuqihi
his neck
وَنُخۡرِجُ
wanukh'riju
and We will bring forth
لَهُۥ
lahu
for him
يَوۡمَ
yawma
(on the) Day
ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِ
al-qiyamati
(of) the Resurrection
كِتَٰبٗا
kitaban
a record
يَلۡقَىٰهُ
yalqahu
which he will find
مَنشُورًا
manshuran
wide open
١٣
17:14
ٱقۡرَأۡ
iq'ra
Read
كِتَٰبَكَ
kitabaka
your record
كَفَىٰ
kafa
Sufficient
بِنَفۡسِكَ
binafsika
(is) yourself
ٱلۡيَوۡمَ
al-yawma
today
عَلَيۡكَ
alayka
against you
حَسِيبٗا
hasiban
(as) accountant
١٤
17:15
مَّنِ
mani
Whoever
ٱهۡتَدَىٰ
ih'tada
(is) guided
فَإِنَّمَا
fa-innama
then only
يَهۡتَدِي
yahtadi
he is guided
لِنَفۡسِهِۦۖ
linafsihi
for his soul
وَمَن
waman
And whoever
ضَلَّ
dalla
goes astray
فَإِنَّمَا
fa-innama
then only
يَضِلُّ
yadillu
he goes astray
عَلَيۡهَاۚ
alayha
against it
وَلَا
wala
And not
تَزِرُ
taziru
will bear
وَازِرَةٞ
waziratun
a bearer of burden
وِزۡرَ
wiz'ra
burden
أُخۡرَىٰۗ
ukh'ra
(of) another
وَمَا
wama
And not
كُنَّا
kunna
We
مُعَذِّبِينَ
mu'adhibina
are to punish
حَتَّىٰ
hatta
until
نَبۡعَثَ
nab'atha
We have sent
رَسُولٗا
rasulan
a Messenger
١٥
17:16
وَإِذَآ
wa-idha
And when
أَرَدۡنَآ
aradna
We intend
أَن
an
that
نُّهۡلِكَ
nuh'lika
We destroy
قَرۡيَةً
qaryatan
a town
أَمَرۡنَا
amarna
We order
مُتۡرَفِيهَا
mut'rafiha
its wealthy people
فَفَسَقُواْ
fafasaqu
but they defiantly disobey
فِيهَا
fiha
therein
فَحَقَّ
fahaqqa
so (is) proved true
عَلَيۡهَا
alayha
against it
ٱلۡقَوۡلُ
al-qawlu
the word
فَدَمَّرۡنَٰهَا
fadammarnaha
and We destroy it
تَدۡمِيرٗا
tadmiran
(with) destruction
١٦
17:17
وَكَمۡ
wakam
And how many
أَهۡلَكۡنَا
ahlakna
We destroyed
مِنَ
mina
from
ٱلۡقُرُونِ
al-quruni
the generations
مِنۢ
min
after
بَعۡدِ
ba'di
after
نُوحٖۗ
nuhin
Nuh
وَكَفَىٰ
wakafa
And sufficient
بِرَبِّكَ
birabbika
(is) your Lord
بِذُنُوبِ
bidhunubi
concerning the sins
عِبَادِهِۦ
ibadihi
(of) His servants
خَبِيرَۢا
khabiran
All-Aware
بَصِيرٗا
basiran
All-Seer
