we (would) have worshipped

other than Him
دُونِهِۦ

شَيۡءٖ

thing
نَّحۡنُ
nahnu
we
وَلَآ
wala
and not
ءَابَآؤُنَا
abauna
our forefathers
وَلَا
wala
and not
حَرَّمۡنَا
harramna
we (would) have forbidden
مِن
min
other than Him
دُونِهِۦ
dunihi
other than Him
مِن
min
anything
شَيۡءٖۚ
shayin
anything
كَذَٰلِكَ
kadhalika
Thus
فَعَلَ
fa'ala
did
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhina
those who
مِن
min
(were) before them
قَبۡلِهِمۡۚ
qablihim
(were) before them
فَهَلۡ
fahal
Then is (there)
عَلَى
ala
on
ٱلرُّسُلِ
al-rusuli
the messengers
إِلَّا
illa
except
ٱلۡبَلَٰغُ
al-balaghu
the conveyance
ٱلۡمُبِينُ
al-mubinu
clear
٣٥
16:36
وَلَقَدۡ
walaqad
And certainly
بَعَثۡنَا
ba'athna
We sent
فِي
fi
into
كُلِّ
kulli
every
أُمَّةٖ
ummatin
nation
رَّسُولًا
rasulan
a Messenger
أَنِ
ani
that
ٱعۡبُدُواْ
u'budu
Worship
ٱللَّهَ
al-laha
Allah
وَٱجۡتَنِبُواْ
wa-ij'tanibu
and avoid
ٱلطَّٰغُوتَۖ
al-taghuta
the false deities
فَمِنۡهُم
famin'hum
Then among them
مَّنۡ
man
(were some) whom
هَدَى
hada
Allah guided
ٱللَّهُ
al-lahu
Allah guided
وَمِنۡهُم
wamin'hum
and among them
مَّنۡ
man
(were) some
حَقَّتۡ
haqqat
was justified
عَلَيۡهِ
alayhi
on them
ٱلضَّلَٰلَةُۚ
al-dalalatu
the straying
فَسِيرُواْ
fasiru
So travel
فِي
fi
in
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ
al-ardi
the earth
فَٱنظُرُواْ
fa-unzuru
and see
كَيۡفَ
kayfa
how
كَانَ
kana
was
عَٰقِبَةُ
aqibatu
the end
ٱلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ
al-mukadhibina
(of) the deniers
٣٦
16:37
إِن
in
If
تَحۡرِصۡ
tahris
you desire
عَلَىٰ
ala
[for]
هُدَىٰهُمۡ
hudahum
their guidance
فَإِنَّ
fa-inna
then indeed
ٱللَّهَ
al-laha
Allah
لَا
la
(will) not
يَهۡدِي
yahdi
guide
مَن
man
whom
يُضِلُّۖ
yudillu
He lets go astray
وَمَا
wama
and not (are)
لَهُم
lahum
for them
مِّن
min
any
نَّٰصِرِينَ
nasirina
helpers
٣٧
16:38
وَأَقۡسَمُواْ
wa-aqsamu
And they swear
بِٱللَّهِ
bil-lahi
by Allah
جَهۡدَ
jahda
strongest
أَيۡمَٰنِهِمۡ
aymanihim
(of) their oaths
لَا
la
Allah will not resurrect
يَبۡعَثُ
yab'athu
Allah will not resurrect
ٱللَّهُ
al-lahu
Allah will not resurrect
مَن
man
(one) who
يَمُوتُۚ
yamutu
dies
بَلَىٰ
bala
Nay
وَعۡدًا
wa'dan
(it is) a promise
عَلَيۡهِ
alayhi
upon Him
حَقّٗا
haqqan
(in) truth
وَلَٰكِنَّ
walakinna
but
أَكۡثَرَ
akthara
most
ٱلنَّاسِ
al-nasi
(of) the mankind
لَا
la
(do) not
يَعۡلَمُونَ
ya'lamuna
know
٣٨
16:39
لِيُبَيِّنَ
liyubayyina
That He will make clear
لَهُمُ
lahumu
to them
ٱلَّذِي
alladhi
that
يَخۡتَلِفُونَ
yakhtalifuna
they differ
فِيهِ
fihi
wherein
وَلِيَعۡلَمَ
waliya'lama
and that may know
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhina
those who
كَفَرُوٓاْ
kafaru
disbelieved
أَنَّهُمۡ
annahum
that they
كَانُواْ
kanu
were
كَٰذِبِينَ
kadhibina
liars
٣٩
16:40
إِنَّمَا
innama
Only
قَوۡلُنَا
qawluna
Our Word
لِشَيۡءٍ
lishayin
to a thing
إِذَآ
idha
when
أَرَدۡنَٰهُ
aradnahu
We intend it
أَن
an
(is) that
نَّقُولَ
naqula
We say
لَهُۥ
lahu
to it
كُن
kun
Be
فَيَكُونُ
fayakunu
and it is
٤٠
16:41
وَٱلَّذِينَ
wa-alladhina
And those who
هَاجَرُواْ
hajaru
emigrated
فِي
fi
in (the way)
ٱللَّهِ
al-lahi
(of) Allah
مِنۢ
min
after
بَعۡدِ
ba'di
after
مَا
ma
[what]
ظُلِمُواْ
zulimu
they were wronged
لَنُبَوِّئَنَّهُمۡ
lanubawwi-annahum
surely We will give them position
فِي
fi
in
ٱلدُّنۡيَا
al-dun'ya
the world
حَسَنَةٗۖ
hasanatan
good
وَلَأَجۡرُ
wala-ajru
but surely the reward
ٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ
al-akhirati
(of) the Hereafter
أَكۡبَرُۚ
akbaru
(is) greater
لَوۡ
law
if
كَانُواْ
kanu
they
يَعۡلَمُونَ
ya'lamuna
know
٤١
16:42
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhina
Those who
صَبَرُواْ
sabaru
(are) patient
وَعَلَىٰ
wa'ala
and on
رَبِّهِمۡ
rabbihim
their Lord
يَتَوَكَّلُونَ
yatawakkaluna
they put their trust
