15:1الٓرۚalif-lam-raAlif Laam Raتِلۡكَtil'kaTheseءَايَٰتُayatu(are) the Versesٱلۡكِتَٰبِal-kitabi(of) the Bookوَقُرۡءَانٖwaqur'aninand Quranمُّبِينٖmubininclear١
15:2رُّبَمَاrubamaPerhapsيَوَدُّyawadduwill wishٱلَّذِينَalladhinathose whoكَفَرُواْkafarudisbelievedلَوۡlawifكَانُواْkanuthey had beenمُسۡلِمِينَmus'liminaMuslims٢
15:3ذَرۡهُمۡdharhumLeave themيَأۡكُلُواْyakulu(to) eatوَيَتَمَتَّعُواْwayatamatta'uand enjoyوَيُلۡهِهِمُwayul'hihimuand diverted themٱلۡأَمَلُۖal-amaluthe hopeفَسَوۡفَfasawfathen soonيَعۡلَمُونَya'lamunathey will come to know٣
15:4وَمَآwamaAnd notأَهۡلَكۡنَاahlaknaWe destroyedمِنminanyقَرۡيَةٍqaryatintownإِلَّاillabutوَلَهَاwalaha(there was) for itكِتَابٞkitabuna decreeمَّعۡلُومٞma'lumunknown٤
15:5مَّاmaNotتَسۡبِقُtasbiqu(can) advanceمِنۡminanyأُمَّةٍummatinnationأَجَلَهَاajalahaits termوَمَاwamaand notيَسۡتَـٔۡخِرُونَyastakhiruna(can) delay it٥
15:6وَقَالُواْwaqaluAnd they sayيَٰٓأَيُّهَاyaayyuhaO youٱلَّذِيalladhi(to) whomنُزِّلَnuzzilahas been sent downعَلَيۡهِalayhi[on him]ٱلذِّكۡرُal-dhik'ruthe Reminderإِنَّكَinnakaindeed youلَمَجۡنُونٞlamajnunun(are) surely mad٦
15:7لَّوۡlawWhyمَاmanotتَأۡتِينَاtatinayou bring to usبِٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةِbil-malaikatithe Angelsإِنinifكُنتَkuntayou areمِنَminaofٱلصَّٰدِقِينَal-sadiqinathe truthful٧
15:8مَاmaNotنُنَزِّلُnunazziluWe send downٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةَal-malaikatathe Angelsإِلَّاillaexceptبِٱلۡحَقِّbil-haqiwith the truthوَمَاwamaand notكَانُوٓاْkanuthey would beإِذٗاidhanthenمُّنظَرِينَmunzarinagiven respite٨
15:9إِنَّاinnaIndeed WeنَحۡنُnahnuWeنَزَّلۡنَاnazzalnahave sent downٱلذِّكۡرَal-dhik'rathe Reminderوَإِنَّاwa-innaand indeed Weلَهُۥlahuof itلَحَٰفِظُونَlahafizuna(are) surely Guardians٩
15:10وَلَقَدۡwalaqadAnd certainlyأَرۡسَلۡنَاarsalnaWe (had) sentمِنminbefore youقَبۡلِكَqablikabefore youفِيfiinشِيَعِshiya'ithe sectsٱلۡأَوَّلِينَal-awalina(of) the former (people)١٠
15:11وَمَاwamaAnd notيَأۡتِيهِمyatihimcame to themمِّنminanyرَّسُولٍrasulinMessengerإِلَّاillabutكَانُواْkanuthey didبِهِۦbihiat himيَسۡتَهۡزِءُونَyastahziunamock١١
15:12كَذَٰلِكَkadhalikaThusنَسۡلُكُهُۥnaslukuhuWe let it enterفِيfiinقُلُوبِqulubi(the) heartsٱلۡمُجۡرِمِينَal-muj'rimina(of) the criminals١٢
15:13لَاlaNotيُؤۡمِنُونَyu'minunathey believeبِهِۦbihiin itوَقَدۡwaqadand verilyخَلَتۡkhalathave passedسُنَّةُsunnatuthe way(s)ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَal-awalina(of) the former (people)١٣
15:14وَلَوۡwalawAnd (even) ifفَتَحۡنَاfatahnaWe openedعَلَيۡهِمalayhimto themبَابٗاbabana gateمِّنَminafromٱلسَّمَآءِal-samaithe heavenفَظَلُّواْfazalluand they were to continueفِيهِfihithereinيَعۡرُجُونَya'rujuna(to) ascend١٤
15:15لَقَالُوٓاْlaqaluThey would surely sayإِنَّمَاinnamaOnlyسُكِّرَتۡsukkirathave been dazzledأَبۡصَٰرُنَاabsarunaour eyesبَلۡbalNayنَحۡنُnahnuweقَوۡمٞqawmun(are) a peopleمَّسۡحُورُونَmashurunabewitched١٥
