وَلَا
Wa-laa
And (do) not
تَقُولُواْ
taq̣ooloo
say
لِمَن
limañy
for (the ones) who
يُقۡتَلُ
yuq̣talu
are slain
فِي
fee
in
سَبِيلِ
Sabeelil
(the) way
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
(of) Allah
أَمۡوَٰتُۢۚ
ʹamwaat.
(They are) dead
بَلۡ
Bal
Nay
أَحۡيَآءٞ
ʹaḥyaaaʹuñw
(they are) alive
وَلَٰكِن
Wa laakil
[and] but
لَّا
laa
you (do) not
تَشۡعُرُونَ
tashʻuroon
perceive
١٥٤
2:155
وَلَنَبۡلُوَنَّكُم
Wa-lanablu-wannakum̃
And surely We will test you
بِشَيۡءٖ
bishayʹim
with something
مِّنَ
minal
of
ٱلۡخَوۡفِ
khawfi
[the] fear
وَٱلۡجُوعِ
waljooʻi
and [the] hunger
وَنَقۡصٖ
wa-naq̣ṣim
and loss
مِّنَ
minal
of
ٱلۡأَمۡوَٰلِ
ʹamwaali
[the] wealth
وَٱلۡأَنفُسِ
wal-ʹañfusi
and [the] lives
وَٱلثَّمَرَٰتِۗ
was̤-s̤amaraat:
and [the] fruits
وَبَشِّرِ
wa-bashshiris̤
but give good news
ٱلصَّٰبِرِينَ
S̤aabireen,
(to) the patient ones
١٥٥
2:156
ٱلَّذِينَ
ʹAllaẓeena
Those who
إِذَآ
ʹiẓaaa
when
أَصَٰبَتۡهُم
ʹaṣaabathum
strikes them
مُّصِيبَةٞ
muṣeebatuñ
a misfortune
قَالُوٓاْ
q̣alooo
they say
إِنَّا
ʹinnaa
Indeed we
لِلَّهِ
lillaahi
belong to Allah
وَإِنَّآ
wa-ʹinnaaa
and indeed we
إِلَيۡهِ
ʹilayhi
towards Him
رَٰجِعُونَ
raajiʻoon.
will return
١٥٦
2:157
أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ
ʹUlaaaʻika
Those
عَلَيۡهِمۡ
ʻalayhim
on them
صَلَوَٰتٞ
ṣalawaatum
(are) blessings
مِّن
mir
from
رَّبِّهِمۡ
Rabbihim
their Lord
وَرَحۡمَةٞۖ
wa-raḥmah:
and Mercy
وَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ
wa-ʹulaaaʹika
And those
هُمُ
humul
[they]
ٱلۡمُهۡتَدُونَ
Muhtadoon.
(are) the guided ones
١٥٧
2:158
۞إِنَّ
ʹInnaṣ
Indeed
ٱلصَّفَا
S̤afaa
the Safa
وَٱلۡمَرۡوَةَ
wal-Marwata
and the Marwah
مِن
miñ
(are) from
شَعَآئِرِ
Shaʻaaʹiril
(the) symbols
ٱللَّهِۖ
laah.
(of) Allah
فَمَنۡ
Faman
So whoever
حَجَّ
ḥajjal
performs Hajj
ٱلۡبَيۡتَ
Bayta
(of) the House
أَوِ
ʹawiʻ
or
ٱعۡتَمَرَ
tamara
performs Umrah
فَلَا
falaa
so no
جُنَاحَ
Junaaḥa
blame
عَلَيۡهِ
ʻalayhi
on him
أَن
ʻany
that
يَطَّوَّفَ
yaṭṭawwafa
he walks
بِهِمَاۚ
bihimaa.
between [both of] them
وَمَن
Wa-mañ
And whoever
تَطَوَّعَ
taṭawwaʻa
voluntarily does
خَيۡرٗا
khayrañ
good
فَإِنَّ
faʹinnal
then indeed
ٱللَّهَ
laha
Allah
شَاكِرٌ
Shaakirun
(is) All-Appreciative
عَلِيمٌ
ʻAleem.
All-Knowing
١٥٨
2:159
إِنَّ
ʹInnal
Indeed
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those who
يَكۡتُمُونَ
yaktumoona
conceal
مَآ
maaa
what
أَنزَلۡنَا
ʹañzalnaa
We revealed
مِنَ
minal
of
ٱلۡبَيِّنَٰتِ
bayyinaati
the clear proofs
وَٱلۡهُدَىٰ
walhudaa
and the Guidance
مِنۢ
mim
from
بَعۡدِ
baʻdi
after
مَا
maa-
[what]
بَيَّنَّٰهُ
bayyannaahu
We made clear
لِلنَّاسِ
linnaasi
to the people
فِي
fil
in
ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ
Kitaabi
the Book
أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ
ʹulaaaʹika
those
يَلۡعَنُهُمُ
yalʻanuhumul
curses them
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah
وَيَلۡعَنُهُمُ
wa-yalʻanuhumul
and curse them
ٱللَّٰعِنُونَ
laa-ʻinoon,
the ones who curse
١٥٩
2:160
إِلَّا
ʹIllal
Except
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those
تَابُواْ
taaboo
who repent[ed]
وَأَصۡلَحُواْ
wa-ʹaṣlaḥoo
and reform[ed]
وَبَيَّنُواْ
wa-bayyanoo
and openly declar[ed]
فَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ
faʹulaaaʹika
Then those
أَتُوبُ
ʹatoobu
I will accept repentance
عَلَيۡهِمۡ
ʻalayhim;
from them
وَأَنَا
wa-ʹAnat
and I (am)
ٱلتَّوَّابُ
Tawwaabur
the Acceptor of Repentance
ٱلرَّحِيمُ
Raḥeem.
the Most Merciful
١٦٠
2:161
إِنَّ
ʹInnal
Indeed
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those who
كَفَرُواْ
kafaroo
disbelieve[d]
وَمَاتُواْ
wa-maatoo
and die[d]
وَهُمۡ
wa-hum
while they
كُفَّارٌ
kuffaarun
(were) disbelievers
أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ
ʹulaaaʹika
those
عَلَيۡهِمۡ
ʻalayhim
on them
لَعۡنَةُ
laʻnatul
(is the) curse
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
(of) Allah
وَٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ
walmalaaaʹikati
and the Angels
وَٱلنَّاسِ
wannaasi
and the mankind
أَجۡمَعِينَ
ʹajmaʻeen,
all together
١٦١
2:162
خَٰلِدِينَ
Khaalideena
(Will) abide forever
فِيهَا
feehaa:
in it
لَا
laa-
Not
يُخَفَّفُ
yukhaffafu
will be lightened
عَنۡهُمُ
ʻanhumul
for them
ٱلۡعَذَابُ
ʻaẓaabu
the punishment
وَلَا
wa-laa
and not
هُمۡ
hum
they
يُنظَرُونَ
yuñz̤̣aroon.
will be reprieved
١٦٢
2:163
وَإِلَٰهُكُمۡ
Wa-ʹIlaahukum
And your God
إِلَٰهٞ
Ilaahuñw
(is) God
وَٰحِدٞۖ
Waaḥid:
one (only)
لَّآ
Laaa
(there is) no
إِلَٰهَ
ʹilaaha
god
إِلَّا
ʹillaa
except
هُوَ
Huwar
Him
ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنُ
Raḥmaanur
the Most Gracious
ٱلرَّحِيمُ
Raḥeem.
the Most Merciful
١٦٣
