تَقۡتُلُوهُمۡ
taqtuluhum
you kill them
وَلَٰكِنَّ
walakinna
but
ٱللَّهَ
al-laha
Allah
قَتَلَهُمۡۚ
qatalahum
killed them
وَمَا
wama
And not
رَمَيۡتَ
ramayta
you threw
إِذۡ
idh
when
رَمَيۡتَ
ramayta
you threw
وَلَٰكِنَّ
walakinna
but
ٱللَّهَ
al-laha
Allah
رَمَىٰ
rama
threw
وَلِيُبۡلِيَ
waliyub'liya
and that He may test
ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
al-mu'minina
the believers
مِنۡهُ
min'hu
from Him
بَلَآءً
balaan
(with) a trial
حَسَنًاۚ
hasanan
good
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
al-laha
Allah
سَمِيعٌ
sami'un
(is) All-Hearing
عَلِيمٞ
alimun
All-Knowing
١٧
8:18
ذَٰلِكُمۡ
dhalikum
That (is the case)
وَأَنَّ
wa-anna
and that
ٱللَّهَ
al-laha
Allah (is)
مُوهِنُ
muhinu
one who makes weak
كَيۡدِ
kaydi
(the) plan
ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ
al-kafirina
(of) the disbelievers
١٨
8:19
إِن
in
If
تَسۡتَفۡتِحُواْ
tastaftihu
you ask for victory
فَقَدۡ
faqad
then certainly
جَآءَكُمُ
jaakumu
has come to you
ٱلۡفَتۡحُۖ
al-fathu
the victory
وَإِن
wa-in
And if
تَنتَهُواْ
tantahu
you desist
فَهُوَ
fahuwa
then it (is)
خَيۡرٞ
khayrun
good
لَّكُمۡۖ
lakum
for you
وَإِن
wa-in
but if
تَعُودُواْ
ta'udu
you return
نَعُدۡ
na'ud
We will return (too)
وَلَن
walan
And never
تُغۡنِيَ
tugh'niya
will avail
عَنكُمۡ
ankum
you
فِئَتُكُمۡ
fi-atukum
your forces
شَيۡـٔٗا
shayan
anything
وَلَوۡ
walaw
even if
كَثُرَتۡ
kathurat
(they are) numerous
وَأَنَّ
wa-anna
And that
ٱللَّهَ
al-laha
Allah
مَعَ
ma'a
(is) with
ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
al-mu'minina
the believers
١٩
8:20
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
yaayyuha
O you
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhina
who
ءَامَنُوٓاْ
amanu
believe
أَطِيعُواْ
ati'u
Obey
ٱللَّهَ
al-laha
Allah
وَرَسُولَهُۥ
warasulahu
and His Messenger
وَلَا
wala
And (do) not
تَوَلَّوۡاْ
tawallaw
turn away
عَنۡهُ
anhu
from him
وَأَنتُمۡ
wa-antum
while you
تَسۡمَعُونَ
tasma'una
hear
٢٠
8:21
وَلَا
wala
And (do) not
تَكُونُواْ
takunu
be
كَٱلَّذِينَ
ka-alladhina
like those who
قَالُواْ
qalu
say
سَمِعۡنَا
sami'na
We heard
وَهُمۡ
wahum
while they
لَا
la
(do) not
يَسۡمَعُونَ
yasma'una
hear
٢١
8:22
۞إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
شَرَّ
sharra
worst
ٱلدَّوَآبِّ
al-dawabi
(of) the living creatures
عِندَ
inda
near
ٱللَّهِ
al-lahi
Allah
ٱلصُّمُّ
al-sumu
(are) the deaf
ٱلۡبُكۡمُ
al-buk'mu
the dumb
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhina
those who
لَا
la
(do) not
يَعۡقِلُونَ
ya'qiluna
use (their) intellect
٢٢
8:23
وَلَوۡ
walaw
And if
عَلِمَ
alima
(had) known
ٱللَّهُ
al-lahu
Allah
فِيهِمۡ
fihim
in them
خَيۡرٗا
khayran
any good
لَّأَسۡمَعَهُمۡۖ
la-asma'ahum
surely He (would) have made them hear
وَلَوۡ
walaw
And if
أَسۡمَعَهُمۡ
asma'ahum
He had made them hear
لَتَوَلَّواْ
latawallaw
surely they would have turned away
وَّهُم
wahum
while they
مُّعۡرِضُونَ
mu'riduna
(were) averse
٢٣
8:24
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
yaayyuha
O you
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhina
who
ءَامَنُواْ
amanu
believe
ٱسۡتَجِيبُواْ
is'tajibu
Respond
لِلَّهِ
lillahi
to Allah
وَلِلرَّسُولِ
walilrrasuli
and His Messenger
إِذَا
idha
when
دَعَاكُمۡ
da'akum
he calls you
لِمَا
lima
to what
يُحۡيِيكُمۡۖ
yuh'yikum
gives you life
وَٱعۡلَمُوٓاْ
wa-i'lamu
And know
أَنَّ
anna
that
ٱللَّهَ
al-laha
Allah
يَحُولُ
yahulu
comes
بَيۡنَ
bayna
(in) between
ٱلۡمَرۡءِ
al-mari
a man
وَقَلۡبِهِۦ
waqalbihi
and his heart
وَأَنَّهُۥٓ
wa-annahu
and that
إِلَيۡهِ
ilayhi
to Him
تُحۡشَرُونَ
tuh'sharuna
you will be gathered
٢٤
8:25
وَٱتَّقُواْ
wa-ittaqu
And fear
فِتۡنَةٗ
fit'natan
a trial
لَّا
la
not
تُصِيبَنَّ
tusibanna
which will afflict
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhina
those who
ظَلَمُواْ
zalamu
do wrong
مِنكُمۡ
minkum
among you
خَآصَّةٗۖ
khassatan
exclusively
وَٱعۡلَمُوٓاْ
wa-i'lamu
And know
أَنَّ
anna
that
ٱللَّهَ
al-laha
Allah
شَدِيدُ
shadidu
(is) severe
ٱلۡعِقَابِ
al-'iqabi
(in) the penalty
٢٥
