۞وَإِذۡ
Wa-ʹiẓ
And when
نَتَقۡنَا
nataq̣nal
We raised
ٱلۡجَبَلَ
Jabala
the mountain
فَوۡقَهُمۡ
fawq̣ahum
above them
كَأَنَّهُۥ
kaʹannahoo
as if it was
ظُلَّةٞ
z̤̣ullatuñw
a canopy
وَظَنُّوٓاْ
waz̤̣annooo
and they thought
أَنَّهُۥ
ʹannahoo
that it
وَاقِعُۢ
waaq̣iʻum
(would) fall
بِهِمۡ
bihim:
upon them
خُذُواْ
khuẓoo
(We said) Take
مَآ
maaa
what
ءَاتَيۡنَٰكُم
ʹaataynaakum̃
We have given you
بِقُوَّةٖ
biq̣uwwatiñw
with strength
وَٱذۡكُرُواْ
waẓkuroo
and remember
مَا
maa-
what
فِيهِ
feehi
(is) in it
لَعَلَّكُمۡ
laʻallakum
so that you may
تَتَّقُونَ
tattaq̣oon.
fear Allah
١٧١
7:172
وَإِذۡ
Wa-ʹiẓ
And when
أَخَذَ
akhaẓa
(was) taken
رَبُّكَ
Rabbuka
(by) your Lord
مِنۢ
mim
from
بَنِيٓ
Baneee
(the) Children
ءَادَمَ
ʹaadama
(of) Adam
مِن
miñ
from
ظُهُورِهِمۡ
z̤̣uhoorihim
their loins
ذُرِّيَّتَهُمۡ
ẓurriyyatahum
their descendants
وَأَشۡهَدَهُمۡ
wa-ʹashhadahum
and made them testify
عَلَىٰٓ
ʻalaaa
over
أَنفُسِهِمۡ
ʹañfusihim:
themselves
أَلَسۡتُ
ʹAlastu
Am I not
بِرَبِّكُمۡۖ
bi-Rabbikum?
your Lord
قَالُواْ
Q̣aaloo
They said
بَلَىٰ
Balaa
Yes
شَهِدۡنَآۚ
shahidnaa!
we have testified
أَن
ʹAñ
Lest
تَقُولُواْ
taq̣ooloo
you say
يَوۡمَ
Yawmal
(on the) Day
ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِ
Q̣iyaamati
(of) the Resurrection
إِنَّا
ʹinnaa
Indeed
كُنَّا
kunnaa
we were
عَنۡ
ʻan
about
هَٰذَا
haaẓaa
this
غَٰفِلِينَ
g̣aafileen:
unaware
١٧٢
7:173
أَوۡ
ʹAw
Or
تَقُولُوٓاْ
taq̣oolooo
you say
إِنَّمَآ
ʹinnamaaa
Only
أَشۡرَكَ
ʹashraka
partners (were) associated (with Allah)
ءَابَآؤُنَا
ʹaabaaaʹunaa
(by) our forefathers
مِن
miñ
from
قَبۡلُ
q̣ablu
before (us)
وَكُنَّا
wa-kunnaa
and we are
ذُرِّيَّةٗ
ẓurriyyatam
descendants
مِّنۢ
mim
from
بَعۡدِهِمۡۖ
baʻdihim:
after them
أَفَتُهۡلِكُنَا
ʹa-fa-tuhlikunaa
So will You destroy us
بِمَا
bimaa
for what
فَعَلَ
faʻalal
did
ٱلۡمُبۡطِلُونَ
mubṭiloon.
the falsifiers
١٧٣
7:174
وَكَذَٰلِكَ
Wa-kaẓaalika
And thus
نُفَصِّلُ
nufaṣṣilul
We explain
ٱلۡأٓيَٰتِ
ʹAayaati
the Verses
وَلَعَلَّهُمۡ
wa-laʻallahum
so that they may
يَرۡجِعُونَ
yarjiʻoon.

١٧٤
7:175
وَٱتۡلُ
Watlu
And recite
عَلَيۡهِمۡ
ʻalayhim
to them
نَبَأَ
naba
(the) story
ٱلَّذِيٓ
ʹallaẓeee
(of the) one whom
ءَاتَيۡنَٰهُ
ʹaataynaahu
We gave [him]
ءَايَٰتِنَا
ʹaayaatinaa
Our Verses
فَٱنسَلَخَ
fañsalakha
but he detached
مِنۡهَا
minhaa
[from] them
فَأَتۡبَعَهُ
faʹatbaʻahush
so followed him
ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنُ
Shayṭaanu
the Shaitaan
فَكَانَ
fakaana
and he became
مِنَ
minal
of
ٱلۡغَاوِينَ
g̣aaween.
those gone astray
١٧٥
7:176
وَلَوۡ
Wa-law
And if
شِئۡنَا
shiʹnaa
We willed
لَرَفَعۡنَٰهُ
larafaʻnaahu
surely We (could) have raised him
بِهَا
bihaa
with these
وَلَٰكِنَّهُۥٓ
walaakinnahooo
[and] but he
أَخۡلَدَ
ʹakhlada
adhered
إِلَى
ʹilal
to
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ
ʹarḍi
the earth
وَٱتَّبَعَ
wattabaʻa
and followed
هَوَىٰهُۚ
hawaah.
his (vain) desires
فَمَثَلُهُۥ
Famas̤aluhoo
So his example
كَمَثَلِ
kamas̤alil
(is) like (the) example
ٱلۡكَلۡبِ
kalb:
(of) the dog
إِن
ʹiñ
if
تَحۡمِلۡ
taḥmil
you attack
عَلَيۡهِ
ʻalayhi
[on] him
يَلۡهَثۡ
yalhas̤
he lolls out his tongue
أَوۡ
ʹaw
or
تَتۡرُكۡهُ
tatrukhu
if you leave him
يَلۡهَثۚ
yalhas̤.
he lolls out his tongue
ذَّٰلِكَ
Ẓaalika
That
مَثَلُ
mas̤alul
(is the) example
ٱلۡقَوۡمِ
q̣awmil
(of) the people
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
who
كَذَّبُواْ
kaẓẓaboo
denied
بِـَٔايَٰتِنَاۚ
biʹAayaatinaa.
[in] Our Signs
فَٱقۡصُصِ
Faq̣ṣuṣil
So relate
ٱلۡقَصَصَ
q̣aṣaṣa
the story
لَعَلَّهُمۡ
laʻallahum
so that they may
يَتَفَكَّرُونَ
yatafakkaroon.

7:177
سَآءَ
Saaaʹa
Evil
مَثَلًا
mas̤alanil
(as) an example
ٱلۡقَوۡمُ
q̣awmul
(are) the people
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those who
كَذَّبُواْ
kaẓẓaboo
denied
بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا
biʹAayaatinaa
Our Signs
وَأَنفُسَهُمۡ
wa-ʹañfusahum
and themselves
كَانُواْ
kaanoo
they used to
يَظۡلِمُونَ
yaz̤̣limoon.
wrong
١٧٧
7:178
مَن
Mañy
Whoever
يَهۡدِ
yahdil
(is) guided
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
(by) Allah
فَهُوَ
fahuwal
then he
ٱلۡمُهۡتَدِيۖ
muhtadee:
(is) the guided one
وَمَن
wa-mañy
while whoever
يُضۡلِلۡ
yuḍlil
He lets go astray
فَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ
faʹulaaaʹika
then those
هُمُ
humul
[they]
ٱلۡخَٰسِرُونَ
khaasiroon.
(are) the losers
