Q̣aala
(Allah) said
مَا

What
مَنَعَكَ
manaʻaka
prevented you
أَلَّا
ʹallaa
that not
تَسۡجُدَ
tasjuda
you prostrate
إِذۡ
ʹiẓ
when
أَمَرۡتُكَۖ
ʹamartuk?
I commanded you
قَالَ
Q̣aala
(Shaitaan) said
أَنَا۠
ʹana
I am
خَيۡرٞ
khayrum
better
مِّنۡهُ
minh.
than him
خَلَقۡتَنِي
Khalaq̣tanee
You created me
مِن
miñ
from
نَّارٖ
naariñw
fire
وَخَلَقۡتَهُۥ
wakhalaq̣tahoo
and You created him
مِن
miñ
from
طِينٖ
ṭeen.
clay
١٢
7:13
قَالَ
Q̣aala
(Allah) said
فَٱهۡبِطۡ
fahbiṭ
Then go down
مِنۡهَا
minhaa
from it
فَمَا
famaa
for not
يَكُونُ
yakoonu
it is
لَكَ
laka
for you
أَن
ʹañ
that
تَتَكَبَّرَ
tatakabbara
you be arrogant
فِيهَا
feehaa
in it
فَٱخۡرُجۡ
fakhruj
So get out
إِنَّكَ
ʹinnaka
indeed you
مِنَ
minaṣ
(are) of
ٱلصَّٰغِرِينَ
ṣaag̣ireen.
the disgraced ones
١٣
7:14
قَالَ
Q̣aala
(Shaitaan) said
أَنظِرۡنِيٓ
ʹañz̤̣irneee
Give me respite
إِلَىٰ
ʹilaa
till
يَوۡمِ
yawmi
(the) Day
يُبۡعَثُونَ
yubʻas̤oon.
they are raised up
١٤
7:15
قَالَ
Q̣aala
(Allah) said
إِنَّكَ
ʹinnaka
Indeed you
مِنَ
minal
(are) of
ٱلۡمُنظَرِينَ
muñz̤̣areen.
the ones given respite
١٥
7:16
قَالَ
Q̣aala
(Shaitaan) said
فَبِمَآ
fabimaaa
Because
أَغۡوَيۡتَنِي
ʹag̣waytanee
You have sent me astray
لَأَقۡعُدَنَّ
laʹaq̣ʻudanna
surely I will sit
لَهُمۡ
lahum
for them
صِرَٰطَكَ
Ṣiraaṭakal
(on) Your path
ٱلۡمُسۡتَقِيمَ
Mustaq̣eem:
the straight
١٦
7:17
ثُمَّ
S̤umma
Then
لَأٓتِيَنَّهُم
laʹaatiyannahum
surely I will come to them
مِّنۢ
mim
from
بَيۡنِ
bayni
before
أَيۡدِيهِمۡ
ʹaydeehim
them
وَمِنۡ
wa-min
and from
خَلۡفِهِمۡ
khalfihim
behind them
وَعَنۡ
wa-ʻan
and from
أَيۡمَٰنِهِمۡ
ʹaymaanihim
their right
وَعَن
wa-ʻañ
and from
شَمَآئِلِهِمۡۖ
shamaaaʹilihim:
their left
وَلَا
wa-laa
and not
تَجِدُ
tajidu
You (will) find
أَكۡثَرَهُمۡ
ʹaks̤arahum
most of them
شَٰكِرِينَ
shaakireen.
grateful
١٧
7:18
قَالَ
Q̣aala
(Allah) said
ٱخۡرُجۡ
khruj
Get out
مِنۡهَا
minhaa
of it
مَذۡءُومٗا
maẓʹoomam
disgraced
مَّدۡحُورٗاۖ
madḥooraa.
and expelled
لَّمَن
Lamañ
Certainly whoever
تَبِعَكَ
tabiʻaka
follows you
مِنۡهُمۡ
minhum
among them
لَأَمۡلَأَنَّ
laʹamlaʹanna
surely I will fill
جَهَنَّمَ
Jahannama
Hell
مِنكُمۡ
miñkum
with you
أَجۡمَعِينَ
ʹajmaʻeen.
all
١٨
7:19
وَيَٰٓـَٔادَمُ
Wa-yaaaʹAadamus
And O Adam
ٱسۡكُنۡ
kun
Dwell
أَنتَ
ʹañta
you
وَزَوۡجُكَ
wa-zawjukal
and your wife
ٱلۡجَنَّةَ
jannata
(in) the Garden
فَكُلَا
fakulaa
and you both eat
مِنۡ
min
from
حَيۡثُ
ḥays̤u
wherever
شِئۡتُمَا
shiʹtumaa
you both wish
وَلَا
wa-laa
but (do) not
تَقۡرَبَا
taq̣rabaa
approach [both of you]
هَٰذِهِ
haaẓihish
this
ٱلشَّجَرَةَ
shajarata
[the] tree
فَتَكُونَا
fatakoona
lest you both be
مِنَ
minaz̤̣
among
ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
z̤̣aalimeen.
the wrongdoers
١٩
7:20
فَوَسۡوَسَ
Fawaswasa
Then whispered
لَهُمَا
lahumash
to both of them
ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنُ
Shayṭaanu
the Shaitaan
لِيُبۡدِيَ
liyubdiya
to make apparent
لَهُمَا
lahumaa
to both of them
مَا
maa-
what
وُۥرِيَ
wooriya
was concealed
عَنۡهُمَا
ʻanhumaa
from both of them
مِن
miñ
of
سَوۡءَٰتِهِمَا
saw-ʹaatihimaa
their shame
وَقَالَ
waq̣aala
And he said
مَا
maa-
(Did) not
نَهَىٰكُمَا
nahaakumaa
forbid you both
رَبُّكُمَا
Rabbukumaa
your Lord
عَنۡ
ʻan
from
هَٰذِهِ
haaẓihish
this
ٱلشَّجَرَةِ
shajarati
[the] tree
إِلَّآ
ʹillaaa
except
أَن
ʹañ
that
تَكُونَا
takoonaa
you two become
مَلَكَيۡنِ
malakayni
Angels
أَوۡ
ʹaw
or
تَكُونَا
takoonaa
you two become
مِنَ
minal
of
ٱلۡخَٰلِدِينَ
khaalideen.
the immortals
٢٠
7:21
وَقَاسَمَهُمَآ
Wa-q̣aasamahumaaa
And he swore (to) both of them
إِنِّي
ʹinnee
Indeed I am
لَكُمَا
lakumaa
to both of you
لَمِنَ
laminan
among
ٱلنَّٰصِحِينَ
naaṣiḥeen.
the sincere advisors
٢١
7:22
فَدَلَّىٰهُمَا
Fadal-laahumaa
So he made both of them fall
بِغُرُورٖۚ
big̣uroor.
by deception
فَلَمَّا
Falammaa
Then when
ذَاقَا
ẓaaq̣ash
they both tasted
ٱلشَّجَرَةَ
shajarata
the tree
بَدَتۡ
badat
became apparent
لَهُمَا
lahumaa
to both of them
سَوۡءَٰتُهُمَا
saw-ʹaatuhumaa
their shame
وَطَفِقَا
waṭafiq̣aa
and they began
يَخۡصِفَانِ
yakhṣifaani
(to) fasten
عَلَيۡهِمَا
ʻalayhimaa
over themselves
مِن
miñw
from
وَرَقِ
waraq̣il
(the) leaves
ٱلۡجَنَّةِۖ
Jannah.
(of) the Garden
وَنَادَىٰهُمَا
Wa-naadaa-humaa
And called them both
رَبُّهُمَآ
Rabbuhumaaa
their Lord
أَلَمۡ
ʹalam
Did not
أَنۡهَكُمَا
ʹanhakumaa
I forbid you both
عَن
ʻañ
from
تِلۡكُمَا
til-kumash
this
ٱلشَّجَرَةِ
shajarati
[the] tree
وَأَقُل
wa-ʹaq̣ul
and [I] say
لَّكُمَآ
lakumaaa
to both of you
إِنَّ
ʹinnash
that
ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنَ
Shayṭaana
[the] Shaitaan
لَكُمَا
lakumaa
to both of you
عَدُوّٞ
ʻaduwwum
(is) an enemy
مُّبِينٞ
mubeen?
