تَتَّبِعُوٓاْ
tattabiʻooo
follow
أَهۡوَآءَ
ʹahwaaaʹa
(vain) desires
قَوۡمٖ
q̣awmiñ
(of) a people
قَدۡ
q̣ad
certainly
ضَلُّواْ
ḍalloo
who went astray
مِن
miñ
from
قَبۡلُ
q̣ablu
before
وَأَضَلُّواْ
wa-ʹaḍalloo
and they misled
كَثِيرٗا
kaseerañw
many
وَضَلُّواْ
waḍalloo
and they have strayed
عَن
ʻañ
from
سَوَآءِ
sawaaaʹis
(the) right
ٱلسَّبِيلِ
sabeel.
[the] way
٧٧
5:78
لُعِنَ
Luʻinal
Were cursed
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those who
كَفَرُواْ
kafaroo
disbelieved
مِنۢ
mim
from
بَنِيٓ
baneee
(the) Children
إِسۡرَٰٓءِيلَ
ʹIsraaaʹeela
(of) Israel
عَلَىٰ
ʻalaa
by
لِسَانِ
lisaani
(the) tongue
دَاوُۥدَ
Daawooda
(of) Dawood
وَعِيسَى
wa-ʻEesab
and Isa
ٱبۡنِ
ni
son
مَرۡيَمَۚ
Maryam:
(of) Maryam
ذَٰلِكَ
ẓaalika
that (was)
بِمَا
bimaa
because
عَصَواْ
ʻaṣaw
they disobeyed
وَّكَانُواْ
Wakaanoo
and they were
يَعۡتَدُونَ
yaʻtadoon.
transgressing
٧٨
5:79
كَانُواْ
Kaanoo
They had been
لَا
laa-
not
يَتَنَاهَوۡنَ
yatanaahawna
forbidding each other
عَن
ʻam
from
مُّنكَرٖ
muñkariñ
wrongdoing
فَعَلُوهُۚ
faʻalooh:
they did [it]
لَبِئۡسَ
Labiʹsa
Surely evil
مَا
maa-
(was) what
كَانُواْ
kaanoo
they were
يَفۡعَلُونَ
yafʻaloon!
doing
٧٩
5:80
تَرَىٰ
Taraa
You see
كَثِيرٗا
kas̤eeram
many
مِّنۡهُمۡ
minhum
of them
يَتَوَلَّوۡنَ
yatawallawnal
taking as allies
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those who
كَفَرُواْۚ
kafaroo.
disbelieved
لَبِئۡسَ
Labiʹsa
Surely evil
مَا
maa-
(is) what
قَدَّمَتۡ
q̣addamat
sent forth
لَهُمۡ
lahum
for them
أَنفُسُهُمۡ
ʹañfusuhum
their souls
أَن
ʹañ
that
سَخِطَ
sakhiṭal
became angry
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah
عَلَيۡهِمۡ
ʻalayhim
with them
وَفِي
wa-fil
and in
ٱلۡعَذَابِ
ʻaẓaabi
the punishment
هُمۡ
hum
they
خَٰلِدُونَ
khaalidoon.
(will) abide forever
٨٠
5:81
وَلَوۡ
Wa-law
And if
كَانُواْ
kaanoo
they had
يُؤۡمِنُونَ
yuʹminoona
believed
بِٱللَّهِ
billaahi
in Allah
وَٱلنَّبِيِّ
wan-nabiyyi
and the Prophet
وَمَآ
wa-maaa
and what
أُنزِلَ
ʹuñzila
has been revealed
إِلَيۡهِ
ʹilayhi
to him
مَا
mat
not
ٱتَّخَذُوهُمۡ
takhaẓoohum
they (would have) taken them
أَوۡلِيَآءَ
ʹawliyaaaʹa
(as) allies
وَلَٰكِنَّ
wa-laakinna
[and] but
كَثِيرٗا
kas̤eeram
many
مِّنۡهُمۡ
minhum
of them
فَٰسِقُونَ
faasiq̣oon.
(are) defiantly disobedient
٨١
5:82
۞لَتَجِدَنَّ
Latajidanna
Surely you will find
أَشَدَّ
ʹashaddan
strongest
ٱلنَّاسِ
naasi
(of) the people
عَدَٰوَةٗ
ʻadaawatal
(in) enmity
لِّلَّذِينَ
lillaẓeena
to those who
ءَامَنُواْ
ʹaamanul
believe
ٱلۡيَهُودَ
Yahooda
the Jews
وَٱلَّذِينَ
wallaẓeena
and those who
أَشۡرَكُواْۖ
ʹashrakoo:
(are) polytheists
وَلَتَجِدَنَّ
wa-latajidanna
and surely you will find
أَقۡرَبَهُم
ʹaq̣rabahum
nearest of them
مَّوَدَّةٗ
mawaddatal
(in) affection
لِّلَّذِينَ
lil-laẓeena
to those who
ءَامَنُواْ
ʹaamanul
believe
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those who
قَالُوٓاْ
q̣aalooo
say
إِنَّا
innaa
We
نَصَٰرَىٰۚ
Naṣaaraa:
(are) Christians
ذَٰلِكَ
ẓaalika
That (is)
بِأَنَّ
biʹanna
because
مِنۡهُمۡ
minhum
among them
قِسِّيسِينَ
Q̣isseeseena
(are) priests
وَرُهۡبَانٗا
Wa-Ruhbaanañw
and monks
وَأَنَّهُمۡ
Waʹannahum
and that they
لَا
laa-
(are) not
يَسۡتَكۡبِرُونَ
yastakbiroon.
arrogant
٨٢
