وَقَفَّيۡنَا

And We sent
عَلَىٰٓ
ala
on
ءَاثَٰرِهِم
atharihim
their footsteps
بِعِيسَى
bi'isa
Isa
ٱبۡنِ
ib'ni
son
مَرۡيَمَ
maryama
(of) Maryam
مُصَدِّقٗا
musaddiqan
confirming
لِّمَا
lima
what
بَيۡنَ
bayna
(was) between
يَدَيۡهِ
yadayhi
his hands
مِنَ
mina
of
ٱلتَّوۡرَىٰةِۖ
al-tawrati
the Taurat
وَءَاتَيۡنَٰهُ
waataynahu
and We gave him
ٱلۡإِنجِيلَ
al-injila
the Injeel
فِيهِ
fihi
in it
هُدٗى
hudan
(was) Guidance
وَنُورٞ
wanurun
and light
وَمُصَدِّقٗا
wamusaddiqan
and confirming
لِّمَا
lima
what
بَيۡنَ
bayna
(was) between
يَدَيۡهِ
yadayhi
his hands
مِنَ
mina
of
ٱلتَّوۡرَىٰةِ
al-tawrati
the Taurat
وَهُدٗى
wahudan
and a Guidance
وَمَوۡعِظَةٗ
wamaw'izatan
and an admonition
لِّلۡمُتَّقِينَ
lil'muttaqina
for the God conscious
٤٦
5:47
وَلۡيَحۡكُمۡ
walyahkum
And let judge
أَهۡلُ
ahlu
(the) People
ٱلۡإِنجِيلِ
al-injili
(of) the Injeel
بِمَآ
bima
by what
أَنزَلَ
anzala
has revealed
ٱللَّهُ
al-lahu
Allah
فِيهِۚ
fihi
in it
وَمَن
waman
And whoever
لَّمۡ
lam
(does) not
يَحۡكُم
yahkum
judge
بِمَآ
bima
by what
أَنزَلَ
anzala
has revealed
ٱللَّهُ
al-lahu
Allah
فَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ
fa-ulaika
then those
هُمُ
humu
[they] (are)
ٱلۡفَٰسِقُونَ
al-fasiquna
the defiantly disobedient
٤٧
5:48
وَأَنزَلۡنَآ
wa-anzalna
And We revealed
إِلَيۡكَ
ilayka
to you
ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ
al-kitaba
the Book
بِٱلۡحَقِّ
bil-haqi
in [the] truth
مُصَدِّقٗا
musaddiqan
confirming
لِّمَا
lima
what
بَيۡنَ
bayna
(was) before
يَدَيۡهِ
yadayhi
his hands
مِنَ
mina
of
ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ
al-kitabi
the Book
وَمُهَيۡمِنًا
wamuhayminan
and a guardian
عَلَيۡهِۖ
alayhi
over it
فَٱحۡكُم
fa-uh'kum
So judge
بَيۡنَهُم
baynahum
between them
بِمَآ
bima
by what
أَنزَلَ
anzala
has revealed
ٱللَّهُۖ
al-lahu
Allah
وَلَا
wala
and (do) not
تَتَّبِعۡ
tattabi'
follow
أَهۡوَآءَهُمۡ
ahwaahum
their vain desires
عَمَّا
amma
when
جَآءَكَ
jaaka
has come to you
مِنَ
mina
of
ٱلۡحَقِّۚ
al-haqi
the truth
لِكُلّٖ
likullin
For each
جَعَلۡنَا
ja'alna
We have made
مِنكُمۡ
minkum
for you
شِرۡعَةٗ
shir'atan
a law
وَمِنۡهَاجٗاۚ
wamin'hajan
and a clear way
وَلَوۡ
walaw
And if
شَآءَ
shaa
(had) willed
ٱللَّهُ
al-lahu
Allah
لَجَعَلَكُمۡ
laja'alakum
He (would have) made you
أُمَّةٗ
ummatan
a community
وَٰحِدَةٗ
wahidatan
one
وَلَٰكِن
walakin
[and] but
لِّيَبۡلُوَكُمۡ
liyabluwakum
to test you
فِي
fi
in
مَآ
ma
what
ءَاتَىٰكُمۡۖ
atakum
He (has) given you
فَٱسۡتَبِقُواْ
fa-is'tabiqu
so race
ٱلۡخَيۡرَٰتِۚ
al-khayrati
(to) the good
إِلَى
ila
To
ٱللَّهِ
al-lahi
Allah
مَرۡجِعُكُمۡ
marji'ukum
you will return
جَمِيعٗا
jami'an
all
فَيُنَبِّئُكُم
fayunabbi-ukum
then He will inform you
بِمَا
bima
of what
كُنتُمۡ
kuntum
you were
فِيهِ
fihi
concerning it
تَخۡتَلِفُونَ
takhtalifuna
differing
٤٨
5:49
وَأَنِ
wa-ani
And that
ٱحۡكُم
uh'kum
you judge
بَيۡنَهُم
baynahum
between them
بِمَآ
bima
by what
أَنزَلَ
anzala
(has) revealed
ٱللَّهُ
al-lahu
Allah
وَلَا
wala
and (do) not
تَتَّبِعۡ
tattabi'
follow
أَهۡوَآءَهُمۡ
ahwaahum
their vain desires
وَٱحۡذَرۡهُمۡ
wa-ih'dharhum
and beware of them
أَن
an
lest
يَفۡتِنُوكَ
yaftinuka
they tempt you away
عَنۢ
an
from
بَعۡضِ
ba'di
some
مَآ
ma
(of) what
أَنزَلَ
anzala
has revealed
ٱللَّهُ
al-lahu
Allah
إِلَيۡكَۖ
ilayka
to you
فَإِن
fa-in
And if
تَوَلَّوۡاْ
tawallaw
they turn away
فَٱعۡلَمۡ
fa-i'lam
then know that
أَنَّمَا
annama
only
يُرِيدُ
yuridu
intends
ٱللَّهُ
al-lahu
Allah
أَن
an
to
يُصِيبَهُم
yusibahum
afflict them
بِبَعۡضِ
biba'di
for some
ذُنُوبِهِمۡۗ
dhunubihim
(of) their sins
وَإِنَّ
wa-inna
And indeed
كَثِيرٗا
kathiran
many
مِّنَ
mina
of
ٱلنَّاسِ
al-nasi
the people
لَفَٰسِقُونَ
lafasiquna
(are) defiantly disobedient
٤٩
5:50
أَفَحُكۡمَ
afahuk'ma
Is it then the judgment
ٱلۡجَٰهِلِيَّةِ
al-jahiliyati
(of the time of) ignorance
يَبۡغُونَۚ
yabghuna
they seek
وَمَنۡ
waman
And who (is)
أَحۡسَنُ
ahsanu
better
مِنَ
mina
than
ٱللَّهِ
al-lahi
Allah
حُكۡمٗا
huk'man
(in) judgment
لِّقَوۡمٖ
liqawmin
for a people
يُوقِنُونَ
yuqinuna
(who) firmly believe
