One of the 60 subdivisions of the Quran (half a Juz)

37:145

۞فَنَبَذۡنَٰهُ

fanabadhnahu

But We cast him

بِٱلۡعَرَآءِ

bil-'arai

onto the open shore

وَهُوَ

wahuwa

while he

سَقِيمٞ

saqimun

(was) ill

١٤٥

37:146

وَأَنۢبَتۡنَا

wa-anbatna

And We caused to grow

عَلَيۡهِ

alayhi

over him

شَجَرَةٗ

shajaratan

a plant

مِّن

min

يَقۡطِينٖ

yaqtinin

gourd

١٤٦

37:147

وَأَرۡسَلۡنَٰهُ

wa-arsalnahu

And We sent him

إِلَىٰ

ila

مِاْئَةِ

mi-ati

a hundred

أَلۡفٍ

alfin

thousand

أَوۡ

يَزِيدُونَ

yaziduna

١٤٧

37:148

فَـَٔامَنُواْ

faamanu

And they believed

فَمَتَّعۡنَٰهُمۡ

famatta'nahum

so We gave them enjoyment

إِلَىٰ

ila

for

حِينٖ

hinin

a while

١٤٨

37:149

فَٱسۡتَفۡتِهِمۡ

fa-is'taftihim

Then ask them

أَلِرَبِّكَ

alirabbika

Does your Lord

ٱلۡبَنَاتُ

al-banatu

(have) daughters

وَلَهُمُ

walahumu

while for them

ٱلۡبَنُونَ

al-banuna

(are) sons

١٤٩

37:150

أَمۡ

خَلَقۡنَا

khalaqna

did We create

ٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةَ

al-malaikata

the Angels

إِنَٰثٗا

inathan

females

وَهُمۡ

wahum

while they

شَٰهِدُونَ

shahiduna

(were) witnesses

١٥٠

37:151

أَلَآ

ala

No doubt

إِنَّهُم

innahum

indeed they

مِّنۡ

min

إِفۡكِهِمۡ

if'kihim

their falsehood

لَيَقُولُونَ

layaquluna

[they] say

١٥١

37:152

وَلَدَ

walada

Allah has begotten

ٱللَّهُ

al-lahu

Allah has begotten

وَإِنَّهُمۡ

wa-innahum

and indeed they

لَكَٰذِبُونَ

lakadhibuna

surely (are) liars

١٥٢

37:153

أَصۡطَفَى

astafa

Has He chosen

ٱلۡبَنَاتِ

al-banati

[the] daughters

عَلَى

ala

over

ٱلۡبَنِينَ

al-banina

sons

مَا

What is with you

لَكُمۡ

lakum

What is with you

كَيۡفَ

kayfa

How

تَحۡكُمُونَ

tahkumuna

you judge

١٥٤

37:155

أَفَلَا

afala

Then will not

تَذَكَّرُونَ

tadhakkaruna

you pay heed

١٥٥

37:156

أَمۡ

لَكُمۡ

lakum

(is) for you

سُلۡطَٰنٞ

sul'tanun

an authority

مُّبِينٞ

mubinun

clear

١٥٦

37:157

فَأۡتُواْ

fatu

Then bring

بِكِتَٰبِكُمۡ

bikitabikum

your book

إِن

كُنتُمۡ

kuntum

you are

صَٰدِقِينَ

sadiqina

truthful

١٥٧

37:158

وَجَعَلُواْ

waja'alu

And they have made

بَيۡنَهُۥ

baynahu

between Him

وَبَيۡنَ

wabayna

and between

ٱلۡجِنَّةِ

al-jinati

the jinn

نَسَبٗاۚ

nasaban

a relationship

وَلَقَدۡ

walaqad

but certainly

عَلِمَتِ

alimati

know

ٱلۡجِنَّةُ

al-jinatu

the jinn

إِنَّهُمۡ

innahum

that they

لَمُحۡضَرُونَ

lamuh'daruna

(will) surely be brought

١٥٨

37:159

سُبۡحَٰنَ

sub'hana

Glory be

ٱللَّهِ

al-lahi

(to) Allah

عَمَّا

amma

above what

يَصِفُونَ

yasifuna

they attribute

١٥٩

37:160

إِلَّا

illa

Except

عِبَادَ

ibada

(the) slaves

ٱللَّهِ

al-lahi

(of) Allah

ٱلۡمُخۡلَصِينَ

al-mukh'lasina

the chosen

١٦٠

37:161

فَإِنَّكُمۡ

fa-innakum

So indeed you

وَمَا

wama

and what

تَعۡبُدُونَ

ta'buduna

you worship

١٦١

37:162

مَآ

Not

أَنتُمۡ

antum

you

عَلَيۡهِ

alayhi

from Him

بِفَٰتِنِينَ

bifatinina

can tempt away (anyone)

١٦٢

37:163

إِلَّا

illa

Except

مَنۡ

man

who

هُوَ

huwa

صَالِ

sali

(is) to burn

ٱلۡجَحِيمِ

al-jahimi

(in) the Hellfire

١٦٣

37:164

وَمَا

wama

And not

مِنَّآ

minna

among us

إِلَّا

illa

except

لَهُۥ

lahu

for him

مَقَامٞ

maqamun

(is) a position

مَّعۡلُومٞ

ma'lumun

known

١٦٤

37:165

وَإِنَّا

wa-inna

And indeed we

لَنَحۡنُ

lanahnu

surely [we]

ٱلصَّآفُّونَ

al-safuna

stand in rows

١٦٥

37:166

وَإِنَّا

wa-inna

And indeed we

لَنَحۡنُ

lanahnu

surely [we]

ٱلۡمُسَبِّحُونَ

al-musabihuna

glorify (Allah)

١٦٦

37:167

وَإِن

wa-in

And indeed

كَانُواْ

kanu

they used to

لَيَقُولُونَ

layaquluna

say

١٦٧

37:168

لَوۡ

law

أَنَّ

anna

that

عِندَنَا

indana

we had

ذِكۡرٗا

dhik'ran

a reminder

مِّنَ

mina

from

ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ

al-awalina

the former (people)

١٦٨

37:169

لَكُنَّا

lakunna

Certainly we (would) have been

عِبَادَ

ibada

slaves

ٱللَّهِ

al-lahi

(of) Allah

ٱلۡمُخۡلَصِينَ

al-mukh'lasina

the chosen

١٦٩

37:170

فَكَفَرُواْ

fakafaru

But they disbelieved

بِهِۦۖ

bihi

in it

فَسَوۡفَ

fasawfa

so soon

يَعۡلَمُونَ

ya'lamuna

they will know

١٧٠

37:171

وَلَقَدۡ

walaqad

And verily

سَبَقَتۡ

sabaqat

has preceded

كَلِمَتُنَا

kalimatuna

Our Word

لِعِبَادِنَا

li'ibadina

for Our slaves

ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِينَ

al-mur'salina

the Messengers

١٧١

37:172

إِنَّهُمۡ

innahum

Indeed they

لَهُمُ

lahumu

surely they

ٱلۡمَنصُورُونَ

al-mansuruna

(would be) the victorious

١٧٢

37:173

وَإِنَّ

wa-inna

And indeed

جُندَنَا

jundana

Our host

لَهُمُ

lahumu

surely they

ٱلۡغَٰلِبُونَ

al-ghalibuna

(will be) those who overcome

١٧٣

37:174

فَتَوَلَّ

fatawalla

So turn away

عَنۡهُمۡ

anhum

from them

حَتَّىٰ

hatta

until

حِينٖ

hinin

a time

١٧٤

37:175

وَأَبۡصِرۡهُمۡ

wa-absir'hum

And see them

فَسَوۡفَ

fasawfa

so soon

يُبۡصِرُونَ

yub'siruna

they will see

١٧٥

37:176

أَفَبِعَذَابِنَا

afabi'adhabina

Then is (it) for Our punishment

يَسۡتَعۡجِلُونَ

yasta'jiluna

they hasten

١٧٦

37:177

فَإِذَا

fa-idha

But when

نَزَلَ

nazala

it descends

بِسَاحَتِهِمۡ

bisahatihim

in their territory

فَسَآءَ

fasaa

then evil (will be)

صَبَاحُ

sabahu

(the) morning

ٱلۡمُنذَرِينَ

al-mundharina

(for) those who were warned

١٧٧

37:178

وَتَوَلَّ

watawalla

So turn away

عَنۡهُمۡ

anhum

from them

حَتَّىٰ

hatta

for

حِينٖ

hinin

a time

١٧٨

37:179

وَأَبۡصِرۡ

wa-absir

And see

فَسَوۡفَ

fasawfa

so soon

يُبۡصِرُونَ

yub'siruna

they will see

١٧٩

37:180

سُبۡحَٰنَ

sub'hana

Glory

رَبِّكَ

rabbika

(be to) your Lord

رَبِّ

rabbi

(the) Lord

ٱلۡعِزَّةِ

al-'izati

(of) Honor

عَمَّا

amma

above what

يَصِفُونَ

yasifuna

they attribute

١٨٠

37:181

وَسَلَٰمٌ

wasalamun

And peace be

عَلَى

ala

upon

ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِينَ

al-mur'salina

the Messengers

١٨١

37:182

وَٱلۡحَمۡدُ

wal-hamdu

And all praise

لِلَّهِ

lillahi

(be) to Allah

رَبِّ

rabbi

(the) Lord

ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ

al-'alamina

(of) the worlds

صٓۚ

sad

Saad

وَٱلۡقُرۡءَانِ

wal-qur'ani

By the Quran

ذِي

dhi

full (of) reminder

ٱلذِّكۡرِ

al-dhik'ri

full (of) reminder

38:2

بَلِ

bali

Nay

ٱلَّذِينَ

alladhina

those who

كَفَرُواْ

kafaru

disbelieve

فِي

(are) in

عِزَّةٖ

izzatin

self-glory

وَشِقَاقٖ

washiqaqin

and opposition

38:3

كَمۡ

kam

How many

أَهۡلَكۡنَا

ahlakna

We destroyed

مِن

min

before them

قَبۡلِهِم

qablihim

before them

مِّن

min

قَرۡنٖ

qarnin

a generation

فَنَادَواْ

fanadaw

then they called out

وَّلَاتَ

walata

when there (was) no longer

حِينَ

hina

time

مَنَاصٖ

manasin

(for) escape

38:4

وَعَجِبُوٓاْ

wa'ajibu

And they wonder

أَن

that

جَآءَهُم

jaahum

has come to them

مُّنذِرٞ

mundhirun

a warner

مِّنۡهُمۡۖ

min'hum

from themselves

وَقَالَ

waqala

And said

ٱلۡكَٰفِرُونَ

al-kafiruna

the disbelievers

هَٰذَا

hadha

This

سَٰحِرٞ

sahirun

(is) a magician

كَذَّابٌ

kadhabun

a liar

38:5

أَجَعَلَ

aja'ala

Has he made

ٱلۡأٓلِهَةَ

al-alihata

the gods

إِلَٰهٗا

ilahan

(into) one god

وَٰحِدًاۖ

wahidan

(into) one god

إِنَّ

inna

Indeed

هَٰذَا

hadha

this

لَشَيۡءٌ

lashayon

(is) certainly a thing

عُجَابٞ

ujabun

curious

38:6

وَٱنطَلَقَ

wa-intalaqa

And went forth

ٱلۡمَلَأُ

al-mala-u

the chiefs

مِنۡهُمۡ

min'hum

among them

أَنِ

ani

that

ٱمۡشُواْ

im'shu

Continue

وَٱصۡبِرُواْ

wa-is'biru

and be patient

عَلَىٰٓ

ala

over

ءَالِهَتِكُمۡۖ

alihatikum

your gods

إِنَّ

inna

Indeed

هَٰذَا

hadha

this

لَشَيۡءٞ

lashayon

(is) certainly a thing

يُرَادُ

yuradu

intended

38:7

مَا

Not

سَمِعۡنَا

sami'na

we heard

بِهَٰذَا

bihadha

of this

فِي

ٱلۡمِلَّةِ

al-milati

the religion

ٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ

al-akhirati

the last

إِنۡ

Not

هَٰذَآ

hadha

(is) this

إِلَّا

illa

but

ٱخۡتِلَٰقٌ

ikh'tilaqun

a fabrication

38:8

أَءُنزِلَ

a-unzila

Has been revealed

عَلَيۡهِ

alayhi

to him

ٱلذِّكۡرُ

al-dhik'ru

the Message

مِنۢ

min

from

بَيۡنِنَاۚ

baynina

among us

بَلۡ

bal

Nay

هُمۡ

hum

They

فِي

(are) in

شَكّٖ

shakkin

doubt

مِّن

min

about

ذِكۡرِيۚ

dhik'ri

My Message

بَل

bal

Nay

لَّمَّا

lamma

not yet

يَذُوقُواْ

yadhuqu

they have tasted

عَذَابِ

adhabi

My punishment

38:9

أَمۡ

عِندَهُمۡ

indahum

have they

خَزَآئِنُ

khazainu

(the) treasures

رَحۡمَةِ

rahmati

(of the) Mercy

رَبِّكَ

rabbika

(of) your Lord

ٱلۡعَزِيزِ

al-'azizi

the All-Mighty

ٱلۡوَهَّابِ

al-wahabi

the Bestower

38:10

أَمۡ

لَهُم

lahum

for them

مُّلۡكُ

mul'ku

(is the) dominion

ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ

al-samawati

(of) the heavens

وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ

wal-ardi

and the earth

وَمَا

wama

and whatever

بَيۡنَهُمَاۖ

baynahuma

(is) between them

فَلۡيَرۡتَقُواْ

falyartaqu

Then let them ascend

فِي

ٱلۡأَسۡبَٰبِ

al-asbabi

the means

١٠

38:11

جُندٞ

jundun

Soldiers

مَّا

there

هُنَالِكَ

hunalika

there

مَهۡزُومٞ

mahzumun

(they will be) defeated

مِّنَ

mina

among

ٱلۡأَحۡزَابِ

al-ahzabi

the companies

١١

38:12

كَذَّبَتۡ

kadhabat

Denied

قَبۡلَهُمۡ

qablahum

before them

قَوۡمُ

qawmu

(the) people

نُوحٖ

nuhin

(of) Nuh

وَعَادٞ

wa'adun

and Aad

وَفِرۡعَوۡنُ

wafir'awnu

and Firaun

ذُو

dhu

(the) owner

ٱلۡأَوۡتَادِ

al-awtadi

(of) the stakes
