78:27إِنَّهُمۡʹInnahumIndeed theyكَانُواْkaanoowereلَاlaa-notيَرۡجُونَyarjoonaexpectingحِسَابٗاḥisaabaa,an account٢٧
78:28وَكَذَّبُواْWa-kaẓẓabooAnd they deniedبِـَٔايَٰتِنَاbiʹAayaatinaaOur Signsكِذَّابٗاkiẓẓaabaa.(with) denial٢٨
78:29وَكُلَّWa-kullaAnd everyشَيۡءٍshayʹinthingأَحۡصَيۡنَٰهُʹaḥṣaynaahuWe have enumerated itكِتَٰبٗاKitaabaa,(in) a Book٢٩
78:30فَذُوقُواْFaẓooq̣ooSo tasteفَلَنfalanand neverنَّزِيدَكُمۡnazeedakumWe will increase youإِلَّاʹil-laaexceptعَذَابًاʻaẓaabaa.(in) punishment٣٠
78:35لَّاLaa-Notيَسۡمَعُونَyasmaʻoonathey will hearفِيهَاfeehaathereinلَغۡوٗاlag̣wañwany vain talkوَلَاwalaa-and notكِذَّٰبٗاkiẓẓaabaa;any falsehood٣٥
78:36جَزَآءٗJazaaaʹam(As) a rewardمِّنmirfromرَّبِّكَRabbikayour Lordعَطَآءًʻaṭaaaʹana giftحِسَابٗاḥisaabaa,―(according to) account٣٦
78:37رَّبِّRabbisLordٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِsamaawaati(of) the heavensوَٱلۡأَرۡضِwal-ʹarḍiand the earthوَمَاwa-maaand whateverبَيۡنَهُمَاbaynahumar(is) between both of themٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِۖRaḥmaanithe Most Graciousلَاlaa-notيَمۡلِكُونَyam-likoonathey have powerمِنۡهُminhufrom Himخِطَابٗاkhiṭaabaa.(to) address٣٧
78:38يَوۡمَYawma(The) Dayيَقُومُyaq̣oomurwill standٱلرُّوحُRooḥuthe Spiritوَٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةُwal-malaaaʹikatuand the Angelsصَفّٗاۖṣaf-faa,(in) rowsلَّاlaa-notيَتَكَلَّمُونَyatakallamoonathey will speakإِلَّاʹil-laaexceptمَنۡman(one) who أَذِنَʹaẓinapermitsلَهُlahur[for] himٱلرَّحۡمَٰنُRaḥmaanuthe Most Graciousوَقَالَwa-q̣aalaand he (will) sayصَوَابٗاṣawaabaa.(what is) correct٣٨
78:39ذَٰلِكَẒaalikalThatٱلۡيَوۡمُYawmul(is) the DayٱلۡحَقُّۖḤaq̣q̣:the TrueفَمَنfamañSo whoeverشَآءَshaaaʹatwillsٱتَّخَذَtakhaẓalet him takeإِلَىٰʹi-laatowardsرَبِّهِۦRabbiheehis Lordمَـَٔابًاmaʹaabaa!a return٣٩
78:40إِنَّآʹInnaaaIndeed Weأَنذَرۡنَٰكُمۡʹañẓarnaakum[We] have warned youعَذَابٗاʻAẓaabañ(of) a punishmentقَرِيبٗاq̣areebaa,―nearيَوۡمَYawma(the) Dayيَنظُرُyañ-z̤̣urulwill seeٱلۡمَرۡءُmarʹuthe manمَاmaa-whatقَدَّمَتۡq̣addamathave sent forthيَدَاهُyadaahuhis handsوَيَقُولُwa-yaq̣ooluland will sayٱلۡكَافِرُkaafiruthe disbelieverيَٰلَيۡتَنِيyaa-laytaneeO I wishكُنتُkuñtuI wereتُرَٰبَۢاturaabaa!dust٤٠
