7:76قَالَqalaSaidٱلَّذِينَalladhinathose whoٱسۡتَكۡبَرُوٓاْis'takbaruwere arrogantإِنَّاinnaIndeed weبِٱلَّذِيٓbi-alladhiin that whichءَامَنتُمamantumyou believeبِهِۦbihiin itكَٰفِرُونَkafiruna(are) disbelievers٧٦
7:77فَعَقَرُواْfa'aqaruThen they hamstrungٱلنَّاقَةَal-naqatathe she-camelوَعَتَوۡاْwa'atawand (were) insolentعَنۡantowardsأَمۡرِamri(the) commandرَبِّهِمۡrabbihim(of) their Lordوَقَالُواْwaqaluand they saidيَٰصَٰلِحُyasalihuO Salihٱئۡتِنَاi'tinaBring usبِمَاbimawhatتَعِدُنَآta'idunayou promise usإِنinifكُنتَkuntayou areمِنَminaofٱلۡمُرۡسَلِينَal-mur'salinathe Messengers٧٧
7:78فَأَخَذَتۡهُمُfa-akhadhathumuSo seized themٱلرَّجۡفَةُal-rajfatuthe earthquakeفَأَصۡبَحُواْfa-asbahuthen they becameفِيfiinدَارِهِمۡdarihimtheir homesجَٰثِمِينَjathiminafallen prone٧٨
7:79فَتَوَلَّىٰfatawallaSo he turned awayعَنۡهُمۡanhumfrom themوَقَالَwaqalaand he saidيَٰقَوۡمِyaqawmiO my peopleلَقَدۡlaqadVerilyأَبۡلَغۡتُكُمۡablaghtukumI have conveyed to youرِسَالَةَrisalata(the) Messageرَبِّيrabbi(of) my Lordوَنَصَحۡتُwanasahtuand [I] advisedلَكُمۡlakum[to] youوَلَٰكِنwalakinbutلَّاlanotتُحِبُّونَtuhibbunayou likeٱلنَّٰصِحِينَal-nasihinathe advisers٧٩
7:80وَلُوطًاwalutanAnd Lutإِذۡidhwhenقَالَqalahe saidلِقَوۡمِهِۦٓliqawmihito his peopleأَتَأۡتُونَatatunaDo you commitٱلۡفَٰحِشَةَal-fahishata(such) immoralityمَاmanotسَبَقَكُمsabaqakumhas preceded youبِهَاbihathereinمِنۡminanyأَحَدٖahadinoneمِّنَminaofٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَal-'alaminathe worlds٨٠
7:81إِنَّكُمۡinnakumIndeed youلَتَأۡتُونَlatatunayou approachٱلرِّجَالَal-rijalathe menشَهۡوَةٗshahwatanlustfullyمِّنminfromدُونِduniinstead ofٱلنِّسَآءِۚal-nisaithe womenبَلۡbalNayأَنتُمۡantumyouقَوۡمٞqawmun(are) a peopleمُّسۡرِفُونَmus'rifuna(who) commit excesses٨١
7:82وَمَاwamaAnd notكَانَkanawasجَوَابَjawaba(the) answerقَوۡمِهِۦٓqawmihi(of) his peopleإِلَّآillaexceptأَنanthatقَالُوٓاْqaluthey saidأَخۡرِجُوهُمakhrijuhumDrive them outمِّنminofقَرۡيَتِكُمۡۖqaryatikumyour townإِنَّهُمۡinnahumIndeed theyأُنَاسٞunasun(are) peopleيَتَطَهَّرُونَyatatahharunawho keep themselves pure٨٢
7:83فَأَنجَيۡنَٰهُfa-anjaynahuSo We saved himوَأَهۡلَهُۥٓwa-ahlahuand his familyإِلَّاillaexceptٱمۡرَأَتَهُۥim'ra-atahuhis wifeكَانَتۡkanatshe wasمِنَminaofٱلۡغَٰبِرِينَal-ghabirinathose who stayed behind٨٣
7:84وَأَمۡطَرۡنَاwa-amtarnaAnd We showeredعَلَيۡهِمalayhimupon themمَّطَرٗاۖmatarana rainفَٱنظُرۡfa-unzurSo seeكَيۡفَkayfahowكَانَkanawasعَٰقِبَةُaqibatu(the) endٱلۡمُجۡرِمِينَal-muj'rimina(of) the criminals٨٤
7:85وَإِلَىٰwa-ilaAnd toمَدۡيَنَmadyanaMadyanأَخَاهُمۡakhahumtheir brotherشُعَيۡبٗاۚshu'aybanShuaibقَالَqalaHe saidيَٰقَوۡمِyaqawmiO my peopleٱعۡبُدُواْu'buduWorshipٱللَّهَal-lahaAllahمَاmanotلَكُمlakumfor youمِّنۡminanyإِلَٰهٍilahingodغَيۡرُهُۥۖghayruhuother than HimقَدۡqadVerilyجَآءَتۡكُمjaatkumhas came to youبَيِّنَةٞbayyinatuna clear proofمِّنminfromرَّبِّكُمۡۖrabbikumyour Lordفَأَوۡفُواْfa-awfuSo give fullٱلۡكَيۡلَal-kayla[the] measureوَٱلۡمِيزَانَwal-mizanaand the weightوَلَاwalaand (do) notتَبۡخَسُواْtabkhasudepriveٱلنَّاسَal-nasa[the] peopleأَشۡيَآءَهُمۡashyaahumin their thingsوَلَاwalaand (do) notتُفۡسِدُواْtuf'siducause corruptionفِيfiinٱلۡأَرۡضِal-ardithe earthبَعۡدَba'daafterإِصۡلَٰحِهَاۚis'lahihaits reformationذَٰلِكُمۡdhalikumThatخَيۡرٞkhayrun(is) betterلَّكُمۡlakumfor youإِنinifكُنتُمkuntumyou areمُّؤۡمِنِينَmu'mininabelievers٨٥
7:86وَلَاwalaAnd (do) notتَقۡعُدُواْtaq'udusitبِكُلِّbikullion everyصِرَٰطٖsiratinpathتُوعِدُونَtu'idunathreateningوَتَصُدُّونَwatasuddunaand hinderingعَنanfromسَبِيلِsabili(the) wayٱللَّهِal-lahi(of) Allahمَنۡman(those) whoءَامَنَamanabelieveبِهِۦbihiin Himوَتَبۡغُونَهَاwatabghunahaand seeking (to make) itعِوَجٗاۚiwajancrookedوَٱذۡكُرُوٓاْwa-udh'kuruAnd rememberإِذۡidhwhenكُنتُمۡkuntumyou wereقَلِيلٗاqalilanfewفَكَثَّرَكُمۡۖfakatharakumand He increased youوَٱنظُرُواْwa-unzuruAnd seeكَيۡفَkayfahowكَانَkanawasعَٰقِبَةُaqibatu(the) endٱلۡمُفۡسِدِينَal-muf'sidina(of) the corrupters٨٦
7:87وَإِنwa-inAnd ifكَانَkana(there) isطَآئِفَةٞtaifatuna groupمِّنكُمۡminkumamong youءَامَنُواْamanu(who has) believedبِٱلَّذِيٓbi-alladhiin that whichأُرۡسِلۡتُur'sil'tuI have been sentبِهِۦbihiwith [it]وَطَآئِفَةٞwataifatunand a groupلَّمۡlamnotيُؤۡمِنُواْyu'minuthey believeفَٱصۡبِرُواْfa-is'biruthen be patientحَتَّىٰhattauntilيَحۡكُمَyahkumajudgesٱللَّهُal-lahuAllahبَيۡنَنَاۚbaynanabetween usوَهُوَwahuwaAnd Heخَيۡرُkhayru(is the) Bestٱلۡحَٰكِمِينَal-hakimina(of) [the] Judges٨٧
7:88۞قَالَqalaSaidٱلۡمَلَأُal-mala-uthe chiefsٱلَّذِينَalladhina(of) those whoٱسۡتَكۡبَرُواْis'takbaruwere arrogantمِنminamongقَوۡمِهِۦqawmihihis peopleلَنُخۡرِجَنَّكَlanukh'rijannakaWe will surely drive you outيَٰشُعَيۡبُyashu'aybuO Shuaibوَٱلَّذِينَwa-alladhinaAnd those whoءَامَنُواْamanu(have) believedمَعَكَma'akawith youمِنminfromقَرۡيَتِنَآqaryatinaour cityأَوۡaworلَتَعُودُنَّlata'udunnayou must returnفِيfitoمِلَّتِنَاۚmillatinaour religionقَالَqalaHe saidأَوَلَوۡawalawEven ifكُنَّاkunnawe areكَٰرِهِينَkarihina(the) ones who hate (it)٨٨
7:89قَدِqadiVerilyٱفۡتَرَيۡنَاif'taraynawe would have fabricatedعَلَىalaagainstٱللَّهِal-lahiAllahكَذِبًاkadhibana lieإِنۡinifعُدۡنَاud'nawe returnedفِيfiinمِلَّتِكُمmillatikumyour religionبَعۡدَba'daafterإِذۡidh[when]نَجَّىٰنَاnajjanasaved usٱللَّهُal-lahuAllahمِنۡهَاۚmin'hafrom itوَمَاwamaAnd notيَكُونُyakunuit isلَنَآlanafor usأَنanthatنَّعُودَna'udawe returnفِيهَآfihain itإِلَّآillaexceptأَنanthatيَشَآءَyashaawillsٱللَّهُal-lahuAllah رَبُّنَاۚrabbunaour Lordوَسِعَwasi'aEncompassesرَبُّنَاrabbuna(by) Our Lordكُلَّkullaeveryشَيۡءٍshayinthingعِلۡمًاۚil'man(in) knowledgeعَلَىalaUponٱللَّهِal-lahiAllahتَوَكَّلۡنَاۚtawakkalnawe put our trustرَبَّنَاrabbanaOur Lordٱفۡتَحۡif'tahDecideبَيۡنَنَاbaynanabetween usوَبَيۡنَwabaynaand betweenقَوۡمِنَاqawminaour peopleبِٱلۡحَقِّbil-haqiin truthوَأَنتَwa-antaand Youخَيۡرُkhayru(are the) Bestٱلۡفَٰتِحِينَal-fatihina(of) those who Decide٨٩
7:90وَقَالَwaqalaAnd saidٱلۡمَلَأُal-mala-uthe chiefsٱلَّذِينَalladhina(of) those whoكَفَرُواْkafarudisbelievedمِنminamongقَوۡمِهِۦqawmihihis peopleلَئِنِla-iniIfٱتَّبَعۡتُمۡittaba'tumyou followشُعَيۡبًاshu'aybanShuaibإِنَّكُمۡinnakumindeed youإِذٗاidhanthenلَّخَٰسِرُونَlakhasiruna(will be) certainly losers٩٠
7:91فَأَخَذَتۡهُمُfa-akhadhathumuThen seized themٱلرَّجۡفَةُal-rajfatuthe earthquakeفَأَصۡبَحُواْfa-asbahuthen they becameفِيfiinدَارِهِمۡdarihimtheir home(s)جَٰثِمِينَjathiminafallen prone٩١
7:92ٱلَّذِينَalladhinaThose whoكَذَّبُواْkadhabudeniedشُعَيۡبٗاshu'aybanShuaibكَأَنka-an(became) as ifلَّمۡlamnotيَغۡنَوۡاْyaghnawthey (had) livedفِيهَاۚfihathereinٱلَّذِينَalladhinaThose whoكَذَّبُواْkadhabudeniedشُعَيۡبٗاshu'aybanShuaibكَانُواْkanuthey wereهُمُhumuthemٱلۡخَٰسِرِينَal-khasirinathe losers٩٢
7:93فَتَوَلَّىٰfatawallaSo he turned awayعَنۡهُمۡanhumfrom themوَقَالَwaqalaand saidيَٰقَوۡمِyaqawmiO my peopleلَقَدۡlaqadVerilyأَبۡلَغۡتُكُمۡablaghtukumI (have) conveyed to youرِسَٰلَٰتِrisalati(the) Messagesرَبِّيrabbi(of) my Lordوَنَصَحۡتُwanasahtuand advisedلَكُمۡۖlakum[to] youفَكَيۡفَfakayfaSo how couldءَاسَىٰasaI grieveعَلَىٰalaforقَوۡمٖqawmina peopleكَٰفِرِينَkafirina(who are) disbelievers٩٣
7:94وَمَآwamaAnd notأَرۡسَلۡنَاarsalnaWe sentفِيfiinقَرۡيَةٖqaryatina cityمِّنminanyنَّبِيٍّnabiyyinProphetإِلَّآillaexceptأَخَذۡنَآakhadhnaWe seizedأَهۡلَهَاahlahaits peopleبِٱلۡبَأۡسَآءِbil-basaiwith adversityوَٱلضَّرَّآءِwal-daraiand hardshipلَعَلَّهُمۡla'allahumso that they mayيَضَّرَّعُونَyaddarra'una(become) humble٩٤
7:95ثُمَّthummaThenبَدَّلۡنَاbaddalnaWe changedمَكَانَmakana(in) placeٱلسَّيِّئَةِal-sayi-ati(of) the badٱلۡحَسَنَةَal-hasanatathe goodحَتَّىٰhattauntilعَفَواْafawthey increasedوَّقَالُواْwaqaluand saidقَدۡqadVerilyمَسَّmassa(had) touchedءَابَآءَنَاabaanaour forefathersٱلضَّرَّآءُal-darauthe adversityوَٱلسَّرَّآءُwal-sarauand the easeفَأَخَذۡنَٰهُمfa-akhadhnahumSo We seized themبَغۡتَةٗbaghtatansuddenlyوَهُمۡwahumwhile theyلَاla(did) notيَشۡعُرُونَyash'urunaperceive٩٥
7:96وَلَوۡwalawAnd ifأَنَّanna[that]أَهۡلَahlapeopleٱلۡقُرَىٰٓal-qura(of) the citiesءَامَنُواْamanu(had) believedوَٱتَّقَوۡاْwa-ittaqawand feared Allahلَفَتَحۡنَاlafatahnasurely We (would have) openedعَلَيۡهِمalayhimupon themبَرَكَٰتٖbarakatinblessingsمِّنَminafromٱلسَّمَآءِal-samaithe heavenوَٱلۡأَرۡضِwal-ardiand the earthوَلَٰكِنwalakinbutكَذَّبُواْkadhabuthey deniedفَأَخَذۡنَٰهُمfa-akhadhnahumSo We seized themبِمَاbimafor whatكَانُواْkanuthey used toيَكۡسِبُونَyaksibunaearn٩٦
7:97أَفَأَمِنَafa-aminaThen did feel secureأَهۡلُahlu(the) peopleٱلۡقُرَىٰٓal-qura(of) the citiesأَنanthatيَأۡتِيَهُمyatiyahumcomes to themبَأۡسُنَاbasunaOur punishmentبَيَٰتٗاbayatan(at) nightوَهُمۡwahumwhile theyنَآئِمُونَnaimuna(were) asleep٩٧
7:98أَوَأَمِنَawa-aminaOr felt secureأَهۡلُahlu(the) peopleٱلۡقُرَىٰٓal-qura(of) the citiesأَنanthatيَأۡتِيَهُمyatiyahumcomes to themبَأۡسُنَاbasunaOur punishmentضُحٗىduhan(in) daylightوَهُمۡwahumwhile theyيَلۡعَبُونَyal'abuna(were) playing٩٨
7:99أَفَأَمِنُواْafa-aminuThen did they feel secureمَكۡرَmakra(from the) planٱللَّهِۚal-lahi(of) AllahفَلَاfalaBut notيَأۡمَنُyamanufeel secureمَكۡرَmakra(from the) planٱللَّهِal-lahi(of) Allahإِلَّاillaexceptٱلۡقَوۡمُal-qawmuthe peopleٱلۡخَٰسِرُونَal-khasiruna(who are) the losers٩٩
7:100أَوَلَمۡawalamWould it notيَهۡدِyahdiguideلِلَّذِينَlilladhina[for] those whoيَرِثُونَyarithunainheritٱلۡأَرۡضَal-ardathe landمِنۢminfromبَعۡدِba'diafterأَهۡلِهَآahlihaits peopleأَنanthatلَّوۡlawifنَشَآءُnashauWe willedأَصَبۡنَٰهُمasabnahumWe (could) afflict themبِذُنُوبِهِمۡۚbidhunubihimfor their sinsوَنَطۡبَعُwanatba'uand We put a sealعَلَىٰalaoverقُلُوبِهِمۡqulubihimtheir heartsفَهُمۡfahumso theyلَاla(do) notيَسۡمَعُونَyasma'unahear١٠٠
