عَلَيۡنَا

and cause us to die
مُسۡلِمِينَ
mus'limina
(as) Muslims
١٢٦
7:127
وَقَالَ
waqala
And said
ٱلۡمَلَأُ
al-mala-u
the chiefs
مِن
min
of
قَوۡمِ
qawmi
(the) people
فِرۡعَوۡنَ
fir'awna
(of) Firaun
أَتَذَرُ
atadharu
Will you leave
مُوسَىٰ
musa
Musa
وَقَوۡمَهُۥ
waqawmahu
and his people
لِيُفۡسِدُواْ
liyuf'sidu
so that they cause corruption
فِي
fi
in
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ
al-ardi
the earth
وَيَذَرَكَ
wayadharaka
and forsake you
وَءَالِهَتَكَۚ
waalihataka
and your gods
قَالَ
qala
He said
سَنُقَتِّلُ
sanuqattilu
We will kill
أَبۡنَآءَهُمۡ
abnaahum
their sons
وَنَسۡتَحۡيِۦ
wanastahyi
and we will let live
نِسَآءَهُمۡ
nisaahum
their women
وَإِنَّا
wa-inna
and indeed we
فَوۡقَهُمۡ
fawqahum
over them
قَٰهِرُونَ
qahiruna
(are) subjugators
١٢٧
7:128
قَالَ
qala
Said
مُوسَىٰ
musa
Musa
لِقَوۡمِهِ
liqawmihi
to his people
ٱسۡتَعِينُواْ
is'ta'inu
Seek help
بِٱللَّهِ
bil-lahi
from Allah
وَٱصۡبِرُوٓاْۖ
wa-is'biru
and be patient
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
ٱلۡأَرۡضَ
al-arda
the earth
لِلَّهِ
lillahi
(belongs) to Allah
يُورِثُهَا
yurithuha
He causes to inherit it
مَن
man
whom
يَشَآءُ
yashau
He wills
مِنۡ
min
of
عِبَادِهِۦۖ
ibadihi
His servants
وَٱلۡعَٰقِبَةُ
wal-'aqibatu
And the end
لِلۡمُتَّقِينَ
lil'muttaqina
(is) for the righteous
١٢٨
7:129
قَالُوٓاْ
qalu
They said
أُوذِينَا
udhina
We have been harmed
مِن
min
from
قَبۡلِ
qabli
before
أَن
an
[that]
تَأۡتِيَنَا
tatiyana
you came to us
وَمِنۢ
wamin
from
بَعۡدِ
ba'di
and after
مَا
ma
[what]
جِئۡتَنَاۚ
ji'tana
you have come to us
قَالَ
qala
He said
عَسَىٰ
asa
Perhaps
رَبُّكُمۡ
rabbukum
your Lord
أَن
an
[that]
يُهۡلِكَ
yuh'lika
will destroy
عَدُوَّكُمۡ
aduwwakum
your enemy
وَيَسۡتَخۡلِفَكُمۡ
wayastakhlifakum
and make you successors
فِي
fi
in
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ
al-ardi
the earth
فَيَنظُرَ
fayanzura
then see
كَيۡفَ
kayfa
how
تَعۡمَلُونَ
ta'maluna
you will do
١٢٩
7:130
وَلَقَدۡ
walaqad
And certainly
أَخَذۡنَآ
akhadhna
We seized
ءَالَ
ala
(the) people
فِرۡعَوۡنَ
fir'awna
(of) Firaun
بِٱلسِّنِينَ
bil-sinina
with years (of famine)
وَنَقۡصٖ
wanaqsin
and a deficit
مِّنَ
mina
of
ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ
al-thamarati
[the] fruits
لَعَلَّهُمۡ
la'allahum
so that they may
يَذَّكَّرُونَ
yadhakkaruna
receive admonition
١٣٠
Page 166
7:131
فَإِذَا
fa-idha
But when
جَآءَتۡهُمُ
jaathumu
came to them
ٱلۡحَسَنَةُ
al-hasanatu
the good
قَالُواْ
qalu
they said
لَنَا
lana
For us
هَٰذِهِۦۖ
hadhihi
(is) this
وَإِن
wa-in
And if
تُصِبۡهُمۡ
tusib'hum
afflicts them
سَيِّئَةٞ
sayyi-atun
bad
يَطَّيَّرُواْ
yattayyaru
they ascribe evil omens
بِمُوسَىٰ
bimusa
to Musa
وَمَن
waman
and who
مَّعَهُۥٓۗ
ma'ahu
(were) with him
أَلَآ
ala
Behold
إِنَّمَا
innama
Only
طَٰٓئِرُهُمۡ
tairuhum
their evil omens
عِندَ
inda
(are) with
ٱللَّهِ
al-lahi
Allah
وَلَٰكِنَّ
walakinna
but
أَكۡثَرَهُمۡ
aktharahum
most of them
لَا
la
(do) not
يَعۡلَمُونَ
ya'lamuna
know
١٣١
7:132
وَقَالُواْ
waqalu
And they said
مَهۡمَا
mahma
Whatever
تَأۡتِنَا
tatina
you bring us
بِهِۦ
bihi
therewith
مِنۡ
min
of
ءَايَةٖ
ayatin
(the) sign
لِّتَسۡحَرَنَا
litasharana
so that you bewitch us
بِهَا
biha
with it
فَمَا
fama
then not
نَحۡنُ
nahnu
we
لَكَ
laka
(will be) in you
بِمُؤۡمِنِينَ
bimu'minina
believers
١٣٢
7:133
فَأَرۡسَلۡنَا
fa-arsalna
So We sent
عَلَيۡهِمُ
alayhimu
on them
ٱلطُّوفَانَ
al-tufana
the flood
وَٱلۡجَرَادَ
wal-jarada
and the locusts
وَٱلۡقُمَّلَ
wal-qumala
and the lice
وَٱلضَّفَادِعَ
wal-dafadi'a
and the frogs
وَٱلدَّمَ
wal-dama
and the blood
ءَايَٰتٖ
ayatin
(as) signs
مُّفَصَّلَٰتٖ
mufassalatin
manifest
فَٱسۡتَكۡبَرُواْ
fa-is'takbaru
but they showed arrogance
وَكَانُواْ
wakanu
and they were
قَوۡمٗا
qawman
a people
مُّجۡرِمِينَ
muj'rimina
criminal
١٣٣
7:134
وَلَمَّا
walamma
And when
وَقَعَ
waqa'a
fell
عَلَيۡهِمُ
alayhimu
on them
ٱلرِّجۡزُ
al-rij'zu
the punishment
قَالُواْ
qalu
they said
يَٰمُوسَى
yamusa
O Musa
ٱدۡعُ
ud'u
Invoke
لَنَا
lana
for us
رَبَّكَ
rabbaka
your Lord
بِمَا
bima
by what
عَهِدَ
ahida
He has promised
عِندَكَۖ
indaka
to you
لَئِن
la-in
If
كَشَفۡتَ
kashafta
you remove
عَنَّا
anna
from us
ٱلرِّجۡزَ
al-rij'za
the punishment
لَنُؤۡمِنَنَّ
lanu'minanna
surely we will believe
لَكَ
laka
[for] you
وَلَنُرۡسِلَنَّ
walanur'silanna
and surely we will send
مَعَكَ
ma'aka
with you
بَنِيٓ
bani
(the) Children
إِسۡرَٰٓءِيلَ
is'raila
(of) Israel
١٣٤
7:135
فَلَمَّا
falamma
But when
كَشَفۡنَا
kashafna
We removed
عَنۡهُمُ
anhumu
from them
ٱلرِّجۡزَ
al-rij'za
the punishment
إِلَىٰٓ
ila
till
أَجَلٍ
ajalin
a (fixed) term
هُم
hum
(which) they
بَٰلِغُوهُ
balighuhu
were to reach [it]
إِذَا
idha
then
هُمۡ
hum
they
يَنكُثُونَ
yankuthuna
broke (the word)
١٣٥
7:136
فَٱنتَقَمۡنَا
fa-intaqamna
So We took retribution
مِنۡهُمۡ
min'hum
from them
فَأَغۡرَقۡنَٰهُمۡ
fa-aghraqnahum
and We drowned them
فِي
fi
in
ٱلۡيَمِّ
al-yami
the sea
بِأَنَّهُمۡ
bi-annahum
because they
كَذَّبُواْ
kadhabu
denied
بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا
biayatina
Our Signs
وَكَانُواْ
wakanu
and they were
عَنۡهَا
anha
to them
غَٰفِلِينَ
ghafilina
heedless
١٣٦
7:137
وَأَوۡرَثۡنَا
wa-awrathna
And We made inheritors
ٱلۡقَوۡمَ
al-qawma
the people
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhina
those who
كَانُواْ
kanu
were
يُسۡتَضۡعَفُونَ
yus'tad'afuna
considered weak
مَشَٰرِقَ
mashariqa
(the) eastern (parts)
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ
al-ardi
(of) the land
وَمَغَٰرِبَهَا
wamagharibaha
and the western (parts) of it
ٱلَّتِي
allati
which
بَٰرَكۡنَا
barakna
We blessed
فِيهَاۖ
fiha
[in it]
وَتَمَّتۡ
watammat
And was fulfilled
كَلِمَتُ
kalimatu
(the) word
رَبِّكَ
rabbika
(of) your Lord
ٱلۡحُسۡنَىٰ
al-hus'na
the best
عَلَىٰ
ala
for
بَنِيٓ
bani
(the) Children
إِسۡرَٰٓءِيلَ
is'raila
(of) Israel
بِمَا
bima
because
صَبَرُواْۖ
sabaru
they were patient
وَدَمَّرۡنَا
wadammarna
And We destroyed
مَا
ma
what
كَانَ
kana
used to
يَصۡنَعُ
yasna'u
make
فِرۡعَوۡنُ
fir'awnu
Firaun
وَقَوۡمُهُۥ
waqawmuhu
and his people
وَمَا
wama
and what
كَانُواْ
kanu
they used to
يَعۡرِشُونَ
ya'rishuna
erect
١٣٧

7:138
وَجَٰوَزۡنَا
wajawazna
And We led across
بِبَنِيٓ
bibani
(the) Children
إِسۡرَٰٓءِيلَ
is'raila
(of) Israel
ٱلۡبَحۡرَ
al-bahra
the sea
فَأَتَوۡاْ
fa-ataw
Then they came
عَلَىٰ
ala
upon
قَوۡمٖ
qawmin
a people
يَعۡكُفُونَ
ya'kufuna
devoted
عَلَىٰٓ
ala
to
أَصۡنَامٖ
asnamin
idols
لَّهُمۡۚ
lahum
of theirs
قَالُواْ
qalu
They said
يَٰمُوسَى
yamusa
O Musa
ٱجۡعَل
ij'al
Make
لَّنَآ
lana
for us
إِلَٰهٗا
ilahan
a god
كَمَا
kama
like what
لَهُمۡ
lahum
they have
ءَالِهَةٞۚ
alihatun
gods
قَالَ
qala
He said
إِنَّكُمۡ
innakum
Indeed you
قَوۡمٞ
qawmun
(are) a people
تَجۡهَلُونَ
tajhaluna
ignorant
١٣٨
7:139
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ
haulai
these
مُتَبَّرٞ
mutabbarun
destroyed
مَّا
ma
(is) what
هُمۡ
hum
they
فِيهِ
fihi
(are) in it
وَبَٰطِلٞ
wabatilun
and vain
مَّا
ma
(is) what
كَانُواْ
kanu
they used to
يَعۡمَلُونَ
ya'maluna
do
١٣٩
7:140
قَالَ
qala
He said
أَغَيۡرَ
aghayra
Should other than
ٱللَّهِ
al-lahi
Allah
أَبۡغِيكُمۡ
abghikum
I seek for you
إِلَٰهٗا
ilahan
a god
وَهُوَ
wahuwa
while He
فَضَّلَكُمۡ
faddalakum
has preferred you
عَلَى
ala
over
ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
al-'alamina
the worlds
١٤٠
7:141
وَإِذۡ
wa-idh
And when
أَنجَيۡنَٰكُم
anjaynakum
We saved you
مِّنۡ
min
from
ءَالِ
ali
(the) people
فِرۡعَوۡنَ
fir'awna
(of) Firaun
يَسُومُونَكُمۡ
yasumunakum
who were afflicting you
سُوٓءَ
sua
(with) worst
ٱلۡعَذَابِ
al-'adhabi
(of) torment
يُقَتِّلُونَ
yuqattiluna
they were killing
أَبۡنَآءَكُمۡ
abnaakum
your sons
وَيَسۡتَحۡيُونَ
wayastahyuna
and letting live
نِسَآءَكُمۡۚ
nisaakum
your women
وَفِي
wafi
And in
ذَٰلِكُم
dhalikum
that
بَلَآءٞ
balaon
(was) a trial
مِّن
min
from
رَّبِّكُمۡ
rabbikum
your Lord
عَظِيمٞ
azimun
great
١٤١
7:142
۞وَوَٰعَدۡنَا
wawa'adna
And We appointed
مُوسَىٰ
musa
(for) Musa
ثَلَٰثِينَ
thalathina
thirty
لَيۡلَةٗ
laylatan
nights
وَأَتۡمَمۡنَٰهَا
wa-atmamnaha
and We completed them
بِعَشۡرٖ
bi'ashrin
with ten (more)
فَتَمَّ
fatamma
so was completed
مِيقَٰتُ
miqatu
(the) set term
رَبِّهِۦٓ
rabbihi
(of) his Lord
أَرۡبَعِينَ
arba'ina
(of) forty
لَيۡلَةٗۚ
laylatan
night(s)
وَقَالَ
waqala
And said
مُوسَىٰ
musa
Musa
لِأَخِيهِ
li-akhihi
to his brother
هَٰرُونَ
haruna
Harun
ٱخۡلُفۡنِي
ukh'luf'ni
Take my place
فِي
fi
in
قَوۡمِي
qawmi
my people
وَأَصۡلِحۡ
wa-aslih
and do right
وَلَا
wala
and (do) not
تَتَّبِعۡ
tattabi'
follow
سَبِيلَ
sabila
(the) way
ٱلۡمُفۡسِدِينَ
al-muf'sidina
(of) the corrupters
١٤٢
7:143
وَلَمَّا
walamma
And when
جَآءَ
jaa
came
مُوسَىٰ
musa
Musa
لِمِيقَٰتِنَا
limiqatina
to Our appointed place
وَكَلَّمَهُۥ
wakallamahu
and spoke to him
رَبُّهُۥ
rabbuhu
his Lord
قَالَ
qala
he said
رَبِّ
rabbi
O my Lord
أَرِنِيٓ
arini
Show me
أَنظُرۡ
anzur
(that) I may look
إِلَيۡكَۚ
ilayka
at You
قَالَ
qala
He said
لَن
lan
Never
تَرَىٰنِي
tarani
you (can) see Me
وَلَٰكِنِ
walakini
but
ٱنظُرۡ
unzur
look
إِلَى
ila
at
ٱلۡجَبَلِ
al-jabali
the mountain
فَإِنِ
fa-ini
[then] if
ٱسۡتَقَرَّ
is'taqarra
it remains
مَكَانَهُۥ
makanahu
in its place
فَسَوۡفَ
fasawfa
then
تَرَىٰنِيۚ
tarani
you (will) see Me
فَلَمَّا
falamma
But when
تَجَلَّىٰ
tajalla
revealed (His) Glory
رَبُّهُۥ
rabbuhu
his Lord
لِلۡجَبَلِ
lil'jabali
to the mountain
جَعَلَهُۥ
ja'alahu
He made it
دَكّٗا
dakkan
crumbled to dust
وَخَرَّ
wakharra
and fell down
مُوسَىٰ
musa
Musa
صَعِقٗاۚ
sa'iqan
unconscious
فَلَمَّآ
falamma
And when
أَفَاقَ
afaqa
he recovered
قَالَ
qala
he said
سُبۡحَٰنَكَ
sub'hanaka
Glory be to You
تُبۡتُ
tub'tu
I turn (in repentance)
إِلَيۡكَ
ilayka
to you
وَأَنَا۠
wa-ana
and I am
أَوَّلُ
awwalu
(the) first
ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
al-mu'minina
(of) the believers
١٤٣

7:144
قَالَ
qala
He said
يَٰمُوسَىٰٓ
yamusa
O Musa
إِنِّي
inni
Indeed I
ٱصۡطَفَيۡتُكَ
is'tafaytuka
have chosen you
عَلَى
ala
over
ٱلنَّاسِ
al-nasi
the people
بِرِسَٰلَٰتِي
birisalati
with My Messages
وَبِكَلَٰمِي
wabikalami
and with My words
فَخُذۡ
fakhudh
So take
مَآ
ma
what
ءَاتَيۡتُكَ
ataytuka
I have given you
وَكُن
wakun
and be
مِّنَ
mina
among
ٱلشَّٰكِرِينَ
al-shakirina
the grateful
١٤٤
7:145
وَكَتَبۡنَا
wakatabna
And We ordained (laws)
لَهُۥ
lahu
for him
فِي
fi
in
ٱلۡأَلۡوَاحِ
al-alwahi
the tablets
مِن
min
of
كُلِّ
kulli
every
شَيۡءٖ
shayin
thing
مَّوۡعِظَةٗ
maw'izatan
an instruction
وَتَفۡصِيلٗا
watafsilan
and explanation
لِّكُلِّ
likulli
for every
شَيۡءٖ
shayin
thing
فَخُذۡهَا
fakhudh'ha
So take them
بِقُوَّةٖ
biquwwatin
with firmness
وَأۡمُرۡ
wamur
and order
قَوۡمَكَ
qawmaka
your people
يَأۡخُذُواْ
yakhudhu
(to) take
بِأَحۡسَنِهَاۚ
bi-ahsaniha
(the) best of it
سَأُوْرِيكُمۡ
sa-urikum
I will show you
دَارَ
dara
(the) home
ٱلۡفَٰسِقِينَ
al-fasiqina
(of) the defiantly disobedient
١٤٥
7:146
سَأَصۡرِفُ
sa-asrifu
I will turn away
عَنۡ
an
from
ءَايَٰتِيَ
ayatiya
My Signs
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhina
those who
يَتَكَبَّرُونَ
yatakabbaruna
are arrogant
فِي
fi
in
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ
al-ardi
the earth
بِغَيۡرِ
bighayri
without
ٱلۡحَقِّ
al-haqi
[the] right
وَإِن
wa-in
and if
يَرَوۡاْ
yaraw
they see
كُلَّ
kulla
every
ءَايَةٖ
ayatin
sign
لَّا
la
not
يُؤۡمِنُواْ
yu'minu
(will) they believe
بِهَا
biha
in it
وَإِن
wa-in
And if
يَرَوۡاْ
yaraw
they see
سَبِيلَ
sabila
(the) way
ٱلرُّشۡدِ
al-rush'di
(of) the righteousness
لَا
la
not
يَتَّخِذُوهُ
yattakhidhuhu
(will) they take it
سَبِيلٗا
sabilan
(as) a way
وَإِن
wa-in
but if
يَرَوۡاْ
yaraw
they see
سَبِيلَ
sabila
(the) way
ٱلۡغَيِّ
al-ghayi
(of) [the] error
يَتَّخِذُوهُ
yattakhidhuhu
they will take it
سَبِيلٗاۚ
sabilan
(as) a way
ذَٰلِكَ
dhalika
That
بِأَنَّهُمۡ
bi-annahum
(is) because they
كَذَّبُواْ
kadhabu
denied
بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا
biayatina
Our Signs
وَكَانُواْ
wakanu
and they were
عَنۡهَا
anha
of them
غَٰفِلِينَ
ghafilina
heedless
١٤٦
7:147
وَٱلَّذِينَ
wa-alladhina
And those who
كَذَّبُواْ
kadhabu
denied
بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا
biayatina
Our Signs
وَلِقَآءِ
waliqai
and (the) meeting
ٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ
al-akhirati
(of) the Hereafter
حَبِطَتۡ
habitat
worthless
أَعۡمَٰلُهُمۡۚ
a'maluhum
(are) their deeds
هَلۡ
hal
Will
يُجۡزَوۡنَ
yuj'zawna
they be recompensed
إِلَّا
illa
except
مَا
ma
(for) what
كَانُواْ
kanu
they used to
يَعۡمَلُونَ
ya'maluna
do
١٤٧
7:148
وَٱتَّخَذَ
wa-ittakhadha
And took
قَوۡمُ
qawmu
(the) people
مُوسَىٰ
musa
(of) Musa
مِنۢ
min
from
بَعۡدِهِۦ
ba'dihi
after him
مِنۡ
min
from
حُلِيِّهِمۡ
huliyyihim
their ornaments
عِجۡلٗا
ij'lan
a calf
جَسَدٗا
jasadan
an image
لَّهُۥ
lahu
[for] it
خُوَارٌۚ
khuwarun
(had) a lowing sound
أَلَمۡ
alam
Did not
يَرَوۡاْ
yaraw
they see
أَنَّهُۥ
annahu
that it
لَا
la
(could) not
يُكَلِّمُهُمۡ
yukallimuhum
speak to them
وَلَا
wala
and not
يَهۡدِيهِمۡ
yahdihim
guide them
سَبِيلًاۘ
sabilan
(to) a way
ٱتَّخَذُوهُ
ittakhadhuhu
They took it (for worship)
وَكَانُواْ
wakanu
and they were
ظَٰلِمِينَ
zalimina
wrongdoers
١٤٨
7:149
وَلَمَّا
walamma
And when
سُقِطَ
suqita
(it was made to) fall
فِيٓ
fi
into
أَيۡدِيهِمۡ
aydihim
their hands
وَرَأَوۡاْ
wara-aw
and they saw
أَنَّهُمۡ
annahum
that they
قَدۡ
qad
(had) indeed
ضَلُّواْ
dallu
gone astray
قَالُواْ
qalu
they said
لَئِن
la-in
If
لَّمۡ
lam
not
يَرۡحَمۡنَا
yarhamna
has Mercy on us
رَبُّنَا
rabbuna
Our Lord
وَيَغۡفِرۡ
wayaghfir
and forgive
لَنَا
lana
[for] us
لَنَكُونَنَّ
lanakunanna
we will surely be
مِنَ
mina
among
ٱلۡخَٰسِرِينَ
al-khasirina
the losers
١٤٩

7:150
وَلَمَّا
walamma
And when
رَجَعَ
raja'a
returned
مُوسَىٰٓ
musa
Musa
إِلَىٰ
ila
to
قَوۡمِهِۦ
qawmihi
his people
غَضۡبَٰنَ
ghadbana
angry
أَسِفٗا
asifan
and grieved
قَالَ
qala
he said
بِئۡسَمَا
bi'sama
Evil is what
خَلَفۡتُمُونِي
khalaftumuni
you have done in my place
مِنۢ
min
from
بَعۡدِيٓۖ
ba'di
after me
أَعَجِلۡتُمۡ
a'ajil'tum
Were you impatient
أَمۡرَ
amra
(over the) matter
رَبِّكُمۡۖ
rabbikum
(of) your Lord
وَأَلۡقَى
wa-alqa
And he cast down
ٱلۡأَلۡوَاحَ
al-alwaha
the tablets
وَأَخَذَ
wa-akhadha
and seized
بِرَأۡسِ
birasi
by head
أَخِيهِ
akhihi
his brother
يَجُرُّهُۥٓ
yajurruhu
dragging him
إِلَيۡهِۚ
ilayhi
to himself
قَالَ
qala
He said
ٱبۡنَ
ib'na
O son
أُمَّ
umma
(of) my mother
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed

al-qawma
the people
ٱسۡتَضۡعَفُونِي
is'tad'afuni
considered me weak
وَكَادُواْ
wakadu
and were about to
يَقۡتُلُونَنِي
yaqtulunani
kill me
فَلَا
fala
So (let) not
تُشۡمِتۡ
tush'mit
rejoice
بِيَ
biya
over me
ٱلۡأَعۡدَآءَ
al-a'daa
the enemies
وَلَا
wala
and (do) not
تَجۡعَلۡنِي
taj'alni
place me
مَعَ
ma'a
with
ٱلۡقَوۡمِ
al-qawmi
the people
ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
al-zalimina
(who are) wrongdoing
