وَمَا
Wa-maa
And not
تَنقِمُ
tañq̣imu
you take revenge
مِنَّآ
minnaaa
from us
إِلَّآ
ʹillaaa
except
أَنۡ
ʹan

ءَامَنَّا
ʹaamannaa
we believed
بِـَٔايَٰتِ
biʹAayaati
in (the) Signs
رَبِّنَا
Rabbinaa
(of) our Lord
لَمَّا
lammaa
when
جَآءَتۡنَاۚ
jaaaʹatnaa!
they came to us
رَبَّنَآ
Rabbanaaa
Our Lord
أَفۡرِغۡ
ʹafrig̣
Pour
عَلَيۡنَا
ʻalaynaa
upon us
صَبۡرٗا
ṣabrañw
patience
وَتَوَفَّنَا
watawaffanaa
and cause us to die
مُسۡلِمِينَ
Muslimeen!
(as) Muslims
١٢٦
7:127
وَقَالَ
Wa-q̣aalal
And said
ٱلۡمَلَأُ
malaʹu
the chiefs
مِن
miñ
of
قَوۡمِ
q̣awmi
(the) people
فِرۡعَوۡنَ
Firʻawna
(of) Firaun
أَتَذَرُ
ʹataẓaru
Will you leave
مُوسَىٰ
Moosaa
Musa
وَقَوۡمَهُۥ
wa-q̣awmahoo
and his people
لِيُفۡسِدُواْ
liyufsidoo
so that they cause corruption
فِي
fil
in
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ
ʹarḍi
the earth
وَيَذَرَكَ
wa-yaẓaraka
and forsake you
وَءَالِهَتَكَۚ
wa-ʹaalihatak?
and your gods
قَالَ
Q̣aala
He said
سَنُقَتِّلُ
sanuq̣attilu
We will kill
أَبۡنَآءَهُمۡ
ʹabnaaaʹahum
their sons
وَنَسۡتَحۡيِۦ
wa-nastaḥyee
and we will let live
نِسَآءَهُمۡ
nisaaaʹahum;
their women
وَإِنَّا
wa-ʹinnaa
and indeed we
فَوۡقَهُمۡ
fawq̣ahum
over them
قَٰهِرُونَ
q̣aahiroon.
(are) subjugators
١٢٧
7:128
قَالَ
Q̣aala
Said
مُوسَىٰ
Moosaa
Musa
لِقَوۡمِهِ
liq̣awmihis
to his people
ٱسۡتَعِينُواْ
taʻeenoo
Seek help
بِٱللَّهِ
billaahi
from Allah
وَٱصۡبِرُوٓاْۖ
waṣbiroo.
and be patient
إِنَّ
ʹInnal
Indeed
ٱلۡأَرۡضَ
ʹarḍa
the earth
لِلَّهِ
lillaahi
(belongs) to Allah
يُورِثُهَا
yooris̤uhaa
He causes to inherit it
مَن
mañy
whom
يَشَآءُ
yashaaaʹu
He wills
مِنۡ
min
of
عِبَادِهِۦۖ
ʻibaadih;
His servants
وَٱلۡعَٰقِبَةُ
wal-ʻaaq̣ibatu
And the end
لِلۡمُتَّقِينَ
lil-Muttaq̣een.
(is) for the righteous
١٢٨
7:129
قَالُوٓاْ
Q̣aalooo
They said
أُوذِينَا
ʹooẓeenaa
We have been harmed
مِن
miñ
from
قَبۡلِ
q̣abli
before
أَن
ʹañ
[that]
تَأۡتِيَنَا
taʹtiyanaa
you came to us
وَمِنۢ
wa-mim
from
بَعۡدِ
baʻdi
and after
مَا
maa-
[what]
جِئۡتَنَاۚ
jiʹtanaa.
you have come to us
قَالَ
Q̣aala
He said
عَسَىٰ
ʻasaa
Perhaps
رَبُّكُمۡ
Rabbukum
your Lord
أَن
ʹañy
[that]
يُهۡلِكَ
yuhlika
will destroy
عَدُوَّكُمۡ
ʻaduwwakum
your enemy
وَيَسۡتَخۡلِفَكُمۡ
wa-yastakhlifakum
and make you successors
فِي
fil
in
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ
ʹarḍi
the earth
فَيَنظُرَ
fayañz̤̣ura
then see
كَيۡفَ
kayfa
how
تَعۡمَلُونَ
taʻmaloon.
you will do
١٢٩
7:130
وَلَقَدۡ
Wa-laq̣ad
And certainly
أَخَذۡنَآ
ʹakhaẓnaaa
We seized
ءَالَ
ʹaala
(the) people
فِرۡعَوۡنَ
Firʻawna
(of) Firaun
بِٱلسِّنِينَ
bis-sineena
with years (of famine)
وَنَقۡصٖ
wa-naq̣ṣim
and a deficit
مِّنَ
minas̤
of
ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ
s̤amaraati
[the] fruits
لَعَلَّهُمۡ
laʻallahum
so that they may
يَذَّكَّرُونَ
yaẓẓakkaroon.
receive admonition
١٣٠
Page 166
7:131
فَإِذَا
Faʹiẓaa
But when
جَآءَتۡهُمُ
jaaaʹathumul
came to them
ٱلۡحَسَنَةُ
ḥasanatu
the good
قَالُواْ
q̣aaloo
they said
لَنَا
lanaa
For us
هَٰذِهِۦۖ
ḥaazih:
(is) this
وَإِن
wa-ʹiñ
And if
تُصِبۡهُمۡ
tuṣibhum
afflicts them
سَيِّئَةٞ
sayyiʹatuñy
bad
يَطَّيَّرُواْ
yaṭṭayyaroo
they ascribe evil omens
بِمُوسَىٰ
bi-Moosaa
to Musa
وَمَن
wa-mam
and who
مَّعَهُۥٓۗ
maʻah.
(were) with him
أَلَآ
ʹAlaaa
Behold
إِنَّمَا
ʹinnamaa
Only
طَٰٓئِرُهُمۡ
ṭaaaʹiruhum
their evil omens
عِندَ
ʻiñdal
(are) with
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
Allah
وَلَٰكِنَّ
wa-laakinna
but
أَكۡثَرَهُمۡ
ʹaks̤arahum
most of them
لَا
laa-
(do) not
يَعۡلَمُونَ
yaʻlamoon!
know
١٣١
7:132
وَقَالُواْ
Wa-q̣aaloo
And they said
مَهۡمَا
mahmaa
Whatever
تَأۡتِنَا
taʹtinaa
you bring us
بِهِۦ
bihee
therewith
مِنۡ
min
of
ءَايَةٖ
ʹAayatil
(the) sign
لِّتَسۡحَرَنَا
litasḥaranaa
so that you bewitch us
بِهَا
bihaa
with it
فَمَا
famaa
then not
نَحۡنُ
naḥnu
we
لَكَ
laka
(will be) in you
بِمُؤۡمِنِينَ
bi-Muʹmineen.
believers
١٣٢
7:133
فَأَرۡسَلۡنَا
Faʹarsalnaa
So We sent
عَلَيۡهِمُ
ʻalayhimuṭ
on them
ٱلطُّوفَانَ
Ṭoofaana
the flood
وَٱلۡجَرَادَ
wal-Jaraada
and the locusts
وَٱلۡقُمَّلَ
wal-Q̣ummala
and the lice
وَٱلضَّفَادِعَ
waḍ-Ḍafaadiʻa
and the frogs
وَٱلدَّمَ
wad-Dama
and the blood
ءَايَٰتٖ
ʹaayaatim
(as) signs
مُّفَصَّلَٰتٖ
mufaṣṣalaat.
manifest
فَٱسۡتَكۡبَرُواْ
Fastakbaroo
but they showed arrogance
وَكَانُواْ
wa-kaanoo
and they were
قَوۡمٗا
q̣awmam
a people
مُّجۡرِمِينَ
mujrimeen.
criminal
١٣٣
7:134
وَلَمَّا
Wa-lammaa
And when
وَقَعَ
waq̣aʻa
fell
عَلَيۡهِمُ
ʻalayhimur
on them
ٱلرِّجۡزُ
rijzu
the punishment
قَالُواْ
q̣aaloo
they said
يَٰمُوسَى
yaa-Moosad
O Musa
ٱدۡعُ
ʻu
Invoke
لَنَا
lanaa
for us
رَبَّكَ
Rabbaka
your Lord
بِمَا
bimaa
by what
عَهِدَ
ʻahida
He has promised
عِندَكَۖ
ʻiñdaka
to you
لَئِن
laʹiñ
If
كَشَفۡتَ
kashafta
you remove
عَنَّا
ʻannar
from us
ٱلرِّجۡزَ
rijza
the punishment
لَنُؤۡمِنَنَّ
lanuʹminanna
surely we will believe
لَكَ
laka
[for] you
وَلَنُرۡسِلَنَّ
wa-lanursilanna
and surely we will send
مَعَكَ
maʻaka
with you
بَنِيٓ
Baneee
(the) Children
إِسۡرَٰٓءِيلَ
ʹIsraaaʹeel.
(of) Israel
١٣٤
7:135
فَلَمَّا
Falammaa
But when
كَشَفۡنَا
kashafnaa
We removed
عَنۡهُمُ
ʻanhumur
from them
ٱلرِّجۡزَ
rijza
the punishment
إِلَىٰٓ
ʹilaaa
till
أَجَلٍ
ʹajalin
a (fixed) term
هُم
hum̃
(which) they
بَٰلِغُوهُ
baalig̣oohu
were to reach [it]
إِذَا
ʹiẓaa
then
هُمۡ
hum
they
يَنكُثُونَ
yañkus̤oon!
broke (the word)
١٣٥
7:136
فَٱنتَقَمۡنَا
Fañtaq̣amnaa
So We took retribution
مِنۡهُمۡ
minhum
from them
فَأَغۡرَقۡنَٰهُمۡ
faʹag̣raq̣naahum
and We drowned them
فِي
fil
in
ٱلۡيَمِّ
yammi
the sea
بِأَنَّهُمۡ
biʹannahum
because they
كَذَّبُواْ
kaẓẓaboo
denied
بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا
biʹAayaatinaa
Our Signs
وَكَانُواْ
wa-kaanoo
and they were
عَنۡهَا
ʻanhaa
to them
غَٰفِلِينَ
g̣aafileen.
heedless
١٣٦
7:137
وَأَوۡرَثۡنَا
Wa-ʹawras̤nal
And We made inheritors
ٱلۡقَوۡمَ
q̣awmal
the people
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those who
كَانُواْ
kaanoo
were
يُسۡتَضۡعَفُونَ
yustaḍʻafoona
considered weak
مَشَٰرِقَ
mashaariq̣al
(the) eastern (parts)
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ
ʹarḍi
(of) the land
وَمَغَٰرِبَهَا
wa-mag̣aari-bahal
and the western (parts) of it
ٱلَّتِي
latee
which
بَٰرَكۡنَا
baaraknaa
We blessed
فِيهَاۖ
feehaa.
[in it]
وَتَمَّتۡ
Watammat
And was fulfilled
كَلِمَتُ
Kalimatu
(the) word
رَبِّكَ
Rabbikal
(of) your Lord
ٱلۡحُسۡنَىٰ
ḥusnaa
the best
عَلَىٰ
ʻalaa
for
بَنِيٓ
Baneee
(the) Children
إِسۡرَٰٓءِيلَ
ʹIsraaaʹeela
(of) Israel
بِمَا
bimaa
because
صَبَرُواْۖ
ṣabaroo;
they were patient
وَدَمَّرۡنَا
wadammarnaa
And We destroyed
مَا
maa-
what
كَانَ
kaana
used to
يَصۡنَعُ
yaṣnaʻu
make
فِرۡعَوۡنُ
Firʻawnu
Firaun
وَقَوۡمُهُۥ
wa-q̣awmuhoo
and his people
وَمَا
wa-maa
and what
كَانُواْ
kaanoo
they used to
يَعۡرِشُونَ
yaʻrishoon.
erect
١٣٧

7:138
وَجَٰوَزۡنَا
Wa-jaawaznaa
And We led across
بِبَنِيٓ
bi-Baneee
(the) Children
إِسۡرَٰٓءِيلَ
ʹIsraaaʹeelal
(of) Israel
ٱلۡبَحۡرَ
baḥra
the sea
فَأَتَوۡاْ
faʹataw
Then they came
عَلَىٰ
ʻalaa
upon
قَوۡمٖ
q̣awmiñy
a people
يَعۡكُفُونَ
yaʻkufoona
devoted
عَلَىٰٓ
ʻalaaa
to
أَصۡنَامٖ
ʹaṣnaamil
idols
لَّهُمۡۚ
lahum.
of theirs
قَالُواْ
Q̣aaloo
They said
يَٰمُوسَى
yaa-Moosaj
O Musa
ٱجۡعَل
ʻal
Make
لَّنَآ
lanaaa
for us
إِلَٰهٗا
ʹilaahañ
a god
كَمَا
kamaa
like what
لَهُمۡ
lahum
they have
ءَالِهَةٞۚ
ʹaalihah.
gods
قَالَ
Q̣aala
He said
إِنَّكُمۡ
ʹinnakum
Indeed you
قَوۡمٞ
q̣awmuñ
(are) a people
تَجۡهَلُونَ
tajhaloon.
ignorant
١٣٨
7:139
إِنَّ
ʹInna
Indeed
هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ
haaaʹulaaaʹi
these
مُتَبَّرٞ
mutabbarum
destroyed
مَّا
maa
(is) what
هُمۡ
hum
they
فِيهِ
feehi
(are) in it
وَبَٰطِلٞ
wa-baaṭilum
and vain
مَّا
maa
(is) what
كَانُواْ
kaanoo
they used to
يَعۡمَلُونَ
yaʻmaloon.
do
١٣٩
7:140
قَالَ
Q̣aala
He said
أَغَيۡرَ
ʹa-g̣ayral
Should other than
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
Allah
أَبۡغِيكُمۡ
ʹabg̣eekum
I seek for you
إِلَٰهٗا
ʹilaahañw
a god
وَهُوَ
Wa-Huwa
while He
فَضَّلَكُمۡ
faḍḍalakum
has preferred you
عَلَى
ʻalal
over
ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
ʻaalameen?
the worlds
١٤٠
7:141
وَإِذۡ
Wa-ʹiẓ
And when
أَنجَيۡنَٰكُم
ʹañjaynaakum
We saved you
مِّنۡ
min
from
ءَالِ
ʹAali
(the) people
فِرۡعَوۡنَ
Firʻawna
(of) Firaun
يَسُومُونَكُمۡ
yasoomoonakum
who were afflicting you
سُوٓءَ
soooʹal
(with) worst
ٱلۡعَذَابِ
ʻaẓaabi,
(of) torment
يُقَتِّلُونَ
yuq̣attiloona
they were killing
أَبۡنَآءَكُمۡ
ʹabnaaaʹakum
your sons
وَيَسۡتَحۡيُونَ
wa-yastaḥyoona
and letting live
نِسَآءَكُمۡۚ
nisaaaʹakum:
your women
وَفِي
wa-fee
And in
ذَٰلِكُم
ẓaalikum
that
بَلَآءٞ
balaaaʹum
(was) a trial
مِّن
mir
from
رَّبِّكُمۡ
Rabbikum
your Lord
عَظِيمٞ
ʻaz̤̣eem.
great
١٤١
7:142
۞وَوَٰعَدۡنَا
Wa-waaʻadnaa
And We appointed
مُوسَىٰ
Moosaa
(for) Musa
ثَلَٰثِينَ
s̤alaas̤eena
thirty
لَيۡلَةٗ
laylatañw
nights
وَأَتۡمَمۡنَٰهَا
waʹatmamnaahaa
and We completed them
بِعَشۡرٖ
biʻashriñ
with ten (more)
فَتَمَّ
fatamma
so was completed
مِيقَٰتُ
meeq̣aatu
(the) set term
رَبِّهِۦٓ
Rabbiheee
(of) his Lord
أَرۡبَعِينَ
ʹarbaʻeena
(of) forty
لَيۡلَةٗۚ
laylah.
night(s)
وَقَالَ
Wa-q̣aala
And said
مُوسَىٰ
Moosaa
Musa
لِأَخِيهِ
liʹakheehi
to his brother
هَٰرُونَ
Haaroonakh
Harun
ٱخۡلُفۡنِي
lufnee
Take my place
فِي
fee
in
قَوۡمِي
q̣awmee
my people
وَأَصۡلِحۡ
wa-ʹaṣliḥ
and do right
وَلَا
wa-laa
and (do) not
تَتَّبِعۡ
tattabiʻ
follow
سَبِيلَ
sabeelal
(the) way
ٱلۡمُفۡسِدِينَ
mufsideen.
(of) the corrupters
١٤٢
7:143
وَلَمَّا
Wa-lammaa
And when
جَآءَ
jaaaʹa
came
مُوسَىٰ
Moosaa
Musa
لِمِيقَٰتِنَا
limeeq̣aatinaa
to Our appointed place
وَكَلَّمَهُۥ
wa-kallamahoo
and spoke to him
رَبُّهُۥ
Rabbuhoo
his Lord
قَالَ
q̣aala
he said
رَبِّ
Rabbi
O my Lord
أَرِنِيٓ
ʹarineee
Show me
أَنظُرۡ
ʹañz̤̣ur
(that) I may look
إِلَيۡكَۚ
ʹilayk.
at You
قَالَ
Q̣aala
He said
لَن
lañ
Never
تَرَىٰنِي
taraanee
you (can) see Me
وَلَٰكِنِ
wa-laakiniñ
but
ٱنظُرۡ
z̤̣ur
look
إِلَى
ʹilal
at
ٱلۡجَبَلِ
jabali
the mountain
فَإِنِ
faʹinis
[then] if
ٱسۡتَقَرَّ
taq̣arra
it remains
مَكَانَهُۥ
makaanahoo
in its place
فَسَوۡفَ
fasawfa
then
تَرَىٰنِيۚ
taraanee.
you (will) see Me
فَلَمَّا
Falammaa
But when
تَجَلَّىٰ
tajallaa
revealed (His) Glory
رَبُّهُۥ
Rabbuhoo
his Lord
لِلۡجَبَلِ
lil-Jabali
to the mountain
جَعَلَهُۥ
jaʻalahoo
He made it
دَكّٗا
dakkañw
crumbled to dust
وَخَرَّ
wakharra
and fell down
مُوسَىٰ
Moosaa
Musa
صَعِقٗاۚ
ṣaʻiq̣aa.
unconscious
فَلَمَّآ
Falammaaa
And when
أَفَاقَ
ʹafaaq̣a
he recovered
قَالَ
q̣aala
he said
سُبۡحَٰنَكَ
Subḥaanaka
Glory be to You
تُبۡتُ
tubtu
I turn (in repentance)
إِلَيۡكَ
ʹilayka
to you
وَأَنَا۠
wa-ʹana
and I am
أَوَّلُ
ʹawwalul
(the) first
ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
Muʹmineen.
(of) the believers
١٤٣
Page 168
7:144
قَالَ
Q̣aala
He said
يَٰمُوسَىٰٓ
yaa-Moosaaa
O Musa
إِنِّي
ʹinniṣ
Indeed I
ٱصۡطَفَيۡتُكَ
ṭafaytuka
have chosen you
عَلَى
ʻalan
over
ٱلنَّاسِ
naasi
the people
بِرِسَٰلَٰتِي
bi-Risaalaatee
with My Messages
وَبِكَلَٰمِي
wa-bi-Kalaamee
and with My words
فَخُذۡ
fakhuẓ
So take
مَآ
maaa
what
ءَاتَيۡتُكَ
ʹaataytuka
I have given you
وَكُن
wa-kum
and be
مِّنَ
minash
among
ٱلشَّٰكِرِينَ
shaakireen.
the grateful
١٤٤
7:145
وَكَتَبۡنَا
Wa-katabnaa
And We ordained (laws)
لَهُۥ
lahoo
for him
فِي
fil
in
ٱلۡأَلۡوَاحِ
ʹAlwaaḥi
the tablets
مِن
miñ
of
كُلِّ
kulli
every
شَيۡءٖ
shayʹim
thing
مَّوۡعِظَةٗ
mawʻiz̤̣a
an instruction
وَتَفۡصِيلٗا
watafṣeelal
and explanation
لِّكُلِّ
likulli
for every
شَيۡءٖ
shayʹ:
thing
فَخُذۡهَا
fakhuzhaa
So take them
بِقُوَّةٖ
biq̣uwwatiñw
with firmness
وَأۡمُرۡ
waʹmur
and order
قَوۡمَكَ
q̣awmaka
your people
يَأۡخُذُواْ
yaʹkhuẓoo
(to) take
بِأَحۡسَنِهَاۚ
biʹaḥsanihaa:
(the) best of it
سَأُوْرِيكُمۡ
saʹureekum,
I will show you
دَارَ
daaral
(the) home
ٱلۡفَٰسِقِينَ
faasiq̣een.
(of) the defiantly disobedient
١٤٥
7:146
سَأَصۡرِفُ
Saʹaṣrifu
I will turn away
عَنۡ
ʻan
from
ءَايَٰتِيَ
ʹAayaatiyal
My Signs
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those who
يَتَكَبَّرُونَ
yatakabbaroona
are arrogant
فِي
fil
in
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ
ʹarḍi
the earth
بِغَيۡرِ
big̣ayril
without
ٱلۡحَقِّ
ḥaq̣q̣:
[the] right
وَإِن
wa-ʹiñy
and if
يَرَوۡاْ
yaraw
they see
كُلَّ
kulla
every
ءَايَةٖ
ʹAayatil
sign
لَّا
laa
not
يُؤۡمِنُواْ
yuʹminoo
(will) they believe
بِهَا
bihaa;
in it
وَإِن
wa-ʹiñy
And if
يَرَوۡاْ
yaraw
they see
سَبِيلَ
sabeelar
(the) way
ٱلرُّشۡدِ
rushdi
(of) the righteousness
لَا
laa-
not
يَتَّخِذُوهُ
yattakhiẓoohu
(will) they take it
سَبِيلٗا
Sabeelaa:
(as) a way
وَإِن
wa-ʹiñy
but if
يَرَوۡاْ
yaraw
they see
سَبِيلَ
sabeelal
(the) way
ٱلۡغَيِّ
g̣ayyi
(of) [the] error
يَتَّخِذُوهُ
yattakhiẓoohu
they will take it
سَبِيلٗاۚ
Sabeelaa.
(as) a way
ذَٰلِكَ
Ẓaalika
That
بِأَنَّهُمۡ
biʹannahum
(is) because they
كَذَّبُواْ
kaẓẓaboo
denied
بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا
biʹAayaatinaa
Our Signs
وَكَانُواْ
wa-kaanoo
and they were
عَنۡهَا
ʻanhaa
of them
غَٰفِلِينَ
g̣aafileen.
heedless
١٤٦
7:147
وَٱلَّذِينَ
Wallaẓeena
And those who
كَذَّبُواْ
kaẓẓaboo
denied
بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا
biʹAayaatinaa
Our Signs
وَلِقَآءِ
wa-Liq̣aaaʹil
and (the) meeting
ٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ
ʹAakhirati
(of) the Hereafter
حَبِطَتۡ
ḥabiṭat
worthless
أَعۡمَٰلُهُمۡۚ
ʹaʻmaaluhum.
(are) their deeds
هَلۡ
Hal
Will
يُجۡزَوۡنَ
yujzawna
they be recompensed
إِلَّا
ʹillaa
except
مَا
maa-
(for) what
كَانُواْ
kaanoo
they used to
يَعۡمَلُونَ
yaʻmaloon?
do
١٤٧
7:148
وَٱتَّخَذَ
Wattakhaẓa
And took
قَوۡمُ
q̣awmu
(the) people
مُوسَىٰ
Moosaa
(of) Musa
مِنۢ
mim
from
بَعۡدِهِۦ
baʻdihee
after him
مِنۡ
min
from
حُلِيِّهِمۡ
ḥuliyyihim
their ornaments
عِجۡلٗا
ʻijlañ
a calf
جَسَدٗا
jasadal
an image
لَّهُۥ
lahoo
[for] it
خُوَارٌۚ
khuwaar.
(had) a lowing sound
أَلَمۡ
ʹAlam

أَنَّهُۥ
ʹannahoo

لَا

(could) not
يُكَلِّمُهُمۡ
yukallimuhum
speak to them
وَلَا
wa-laa
and not
يَهۡدِيهِمۡ
yahdeehim
guide them
سَبِيلًاۘ
Sabeelaa?
(to) a way
ٱتَّخَذُوهُ
ʹItta-Khaẓoohu
They took it (for worship)
وَكَانُواْ
wa-kaanoo
and they were
ظَٰلِمِينَ
z̤̣aalimeen.
wrongdoers

7:149
وَلَمَّا
Wa-lammaa
And when
سُقِطَ
suq̣iṭa
(it was made to) fall
فِيٓ
feee
into
أَيۡدِيهِمۡ
ʹaydeehim
their hands
وَرَأَوۡاْ
wa-ra
and they saw
أَنَّهُمۡ
ʹawʹannahum
that they
قَدۡ
q̣ad
(had) indeed
ضَلُّواْ
ḍalloo
gone astray
قَالُواْ
q̣aaloo
they said
لَئِن
laʹil
If
لَّمۡ
lam
not
يَرۡحَمۡنَا
yarḥamnaa
has Mercy on us
رَبُّنَا
Rabbunaa
Our Lord
وَيَغۡفِرۡ
wa-yag̣fir
and forgive
لَنَا
lanaa
[for] us
لَنَكُونَنَّ
lanakoonanna
we will surely be
مِنَ
minal
among
ٱلۡخَٰسِرِينَ
khaasireen.
the losers

وَلَمَّا
Wa-lammaa
And when
رَجَعَ
rajaʻa
returned
مُوسَىٰٓ
Moosaaa
Musa
إِلَىٰ
ʹilaa
to
قَوۡمِهِۦ
q̣awmihee
his people
غَضۡبَٰنَ
g̣aḍbaana
angry
أَسِفٗا
ʹasifañ
and grieved
قَالَ
q̣aala
he said
بِئۡسَمَا
biʹsamaa
Evil is what
خَلَفۡتُمُونِي
khalaftumoonee
you have done in my place
مِنۢ
mim
from
بَعۡدِيٓۖ
baʻdee.
after me
أَعَجِلۡتُمۡ
ʹA-ʻajiltum
Were you impatient
أَمۡرَ
ʹamra
(over the) matter
رَبِّكُمۡۖ
rabbikum?
(of) your Lord
وَأَلۡقَى
Wa-ʹalq̣al
And he cast down
ٱلۡأَلۡوَاحَ
ʹAlwaaḥa
the tablets
وَأَخَذَ
wa-ʹakhaẓa
and seized
بِرَأۡسِ
biraʹsi
by head
أَخِيهِ
akheehi
his brother
يَجُرُّهُۥٓ
yajurruhooo
dragging him
إِلَيۡهِۚ
ʹilayh.
to himself
قَالَ
Q̣aalab
He said
ٱبۡنَ
na
O son
أُمَّ
umma
(of) my mother
إِنَّ
ʹinnal
Indeed
ٱلۡقَوۡمَ
q̣awmas
the people
ٱسۡتَضۡعَفُونِي
taḍʻafoonee
considered me weak
وَكَادُواْ
wa-kaadoo
and were about to
يَقۡتُلُونَنِي
yaq̣tuloonanee.
kill me
فَلَا
Falaa
So (let) not
تُشۡمِتۡ
tushmit
rejoice
بِيَ
biyal
over me
ٱلۡأَعۡدَآءَ
ʹaʻdaaaʹa
the enemies
وَلَا
wa-laa
and (do) not
تَجۡعَلۡنِي
tajʻalnee
place me
مَعَ
maʻal
with
ٱلۡقَوۡمِ
q̣awmiz̤̣
the people
ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
z̤̣aalimeen.
(who are) wrongdoing
