By the pen
وَمَا
wama
and what
يَسۡطُرُونَ
yasturuna
they write

68:2
مَآ
ma
Not
أَنتَ
anta
you (are)
بِنِعۡمَةِ
bini'mati
by (the) Grace
رَبِّكَ
rabbika
(of) your Lord
بِمَجۡنُونٖ
bimajnunin
a madman
٢
68:3
وَإِنَّ
wa-inna
And indeed
لَكَ
laka
for you
لَأَجۡرًا
la-ajran
surely (is) a reward
غَيۡرَ
ghayra
without
مَمۡنُونٖ
mamnunin
end
٣
68:4
وَإِنَّكَ
wa-innaka
And indeed you
لَعَلَىٰ
la'ala
surely (are)
خُلُقٍ
khuluqin
(of) a moral character
عَظِيمٖ
azimin
great
٤
68:5
فَسَتُبۡصِرُ
fasatub'siru
So you will see
وَيُبۡصِرُونَ
wayub'siruna
and they will see
٥
68:6
بِأَييِّكُمُ
bi-ayyikumu
Which of you
ٱلۡمَفۡتُونُ
al-maftunu
(is) the afflicted one
٦
68:7
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
رَبَّكَ
rabbaka
your Lord
هُوَ
huwa
He
أَعۡلَمُ
a'lamu
(is) most knowing
بِمَن
biman
of (he) who
ضَلَّ
dalla
has strayed
عَن
an
from
سَبِيلِهِۦ
sabilihi
His way
وَهُوَ
wahuwa
and He
أَعۡلَمُ
a'lamu
(is) most knowing
بِٱلۡمُهۡتَدِينَ
bil-muh'tadina
of the guided ones
٧
68:8
فَلَا
fala
So (do) not
تُطِعِ
tuti'i
obey
ٱلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ
al-mukadhibina
the deniers
٨
68:9
وَدُّواْ
waddu
They wish
لَوۡ
law
that
تُدۡهِنُ
tud'hinu
you should compromise
فَيُدۡهِنُونَ
fayud'hinuna
so they would compromise
٩
68:10
وَلَا
wala
And (do) not
تُطِعۡ
tuti'
obey
كُلَّ
kulla
every
حَلَّافٖ
hallafin
habitual swearer
مَّهِينٍ
mahinin
worthless
١٠
68:11
هَمَّازٖ
hammazin
Defamer
مَّشَّآءِۭ
mashain
going about
بِنَمِيمٖ
binamimin
with malicious gossip

68:12
مَّنَّاعٖ
manna'in
A preventer
لِّلۡخَيۡرِ
lil'khayri
of (the) good
مُعۡتَدٍ
mu'tadin
transgressor
أَثِيمٍ
athimin
sinful
١٢
68:13
عُتُلِّۭ
utullin
Cruel
بَعۡدَ
ba'da
after
ذَٰلِكَ
dhalika
(all) that
زَنِيمٍ
zanimin
utterly useless
١٣
68:14
أَن
an
Because
كَانَ
kana
(he) is
ذَا
dha
a possessor
مَالٖ
malin
(of) wealth
وَبَنِينَ
wabanina
and children
١٤
68:15
إِذَا
idha
When
تُتۡلَىٰ
tut'la
are recited
عَلَيۡهِ
alayhi
to him
ءَايَٰتُنَا
ayatuna
Our Verses
قَالَ
qala
he says
أَسَٰطِيرُ
asatiru
Stories
ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ
al-awalina
(of) the former (people)

سَنَسِمُهُۥ
sanasimuhu
We will brand him
عَلَى
ala
on
ٱلۡخُرۡطُومِ
al-khur'tumi
the snout
١٦
68:17
إِنَّا
inna
Indeed We
بَلَوۡنَٰهُمۡ
balawnahum
have tried them
كَمَا
kama
as
بَلَوۡنَآ
balawna
We tried
أَصۡحَٰبَ
ashaba
(the) companions
ٱلۡجَنَّةِ
al-janati
(of) the garden
إِذۡ
idh
when
أَقۡسَمُواْ
aqsamu
they swore
لَيَصۡرِمُنَّهَا
layasrimunnaha
to pluck its fruit
مُصۡبِحِينَ
mus'bihina
(in the) morning

68:18
وَلَا
wala
And not
يَسۡتَثۡنُونَ
yastathnuna
making exception
١٨
68:19
فَطَافَ
fatafa
So there came
عَلَيۡهَا
alayha
upon it
طَآئِفٞ
taifun
a visitation
مِّن
min
from
رَّبِّكَ
rabbika
your Lord
وَهُمۡ
wahum
while they
نَآئِمُونَ
naimuna
were asleep
١٩
68:20
فَأَصۡبَحَتۡ
fa-asbahat
So it became
كَٱلصَّرِيمِ
kal-sarimi
as if reaped
٢٠
68:21
فَتَنَادَوۡاْ
fatanadaw
And they called one another
مُصۡبِحِينَ
mus'bihina
(at) morning
٢١
68:22
أَنِ
ani
That
ٱغۡدُواْ
igh'du
Go early
عَلَىٰ
ala
to
حَرۡثِكُمۡ
harthikum
your crop
إِن
in
if
كُنتُمۡ
kuntum
you would
صَٰرِمِينَ
sarimina
pluck (the) fruit
٢٢
68:23
فَٱنطَلَقُواْ
fa-intalaqu
So they went
وَهُمۡ
wahum
while they
يَتَخَٰفَتُونَ
yatakhafatuna
lowered (their) voices
٢٣
68:24
أَن
an
That
لَّا
la
Not
يَدۡخُلَنَّهَا
yadkhulannaha
will enter it
ٱلۡيَوۡمَ
al-yawma
today
عَلَيۡكُم
alaykum
upon you
مِّسۡكِينٞ
mis'kinun
any poor person
٢٤
68:25
وَغَدَوۡاْ
waghadaw
And they went early
عَلَىٰ
ala
with
حَرۡدٖ
hardin
determination
قَٰدِرِينَ
qadirina
able
٢٥
68:26
فَلَمَّا
falamma
But when
رَأَوۡهَا
ra-awha
they saw it
قَالُوٓاْ
qalu
they said
إِنَّا
inna
Indeed we
لَضَآلُّونَ
ladalluna
(are) surely lost
٢٦
68:27
بَلۡ
bal
Nay
نَحۡنُ
nahnu
We
مَحۡرُومُونَ
mahrumuna
(are) deprived
٢٧
68:28
قَالَ
qala
Said
أَوۡسَطُهُمۡ
awsatuhum
(the) most moderate of them
أَلَمۡ
alam
Did not
أَقُل
aqul
I tell
لَّكُمۡ
lakum
you
لَوۡلَا
lawla
Why not
تُسَبِّحُونَ
tusabbihuna
you glorify (Allah)?
٢٨
68:29
قَالُواْ
qalu
They said
سُبۡحَٰنَ
sub'hana
Glory be
رَبِّنَآ
rabbina
(to) our Lord
إِنَّا
inna
Indeed we
كُنَّا
kunna
[we] were
ظَٰلِمِينَ
zalimina
wrongdoers
٢٩
68:30
فَأَقۡبَلَ
fa-aqbala
Then approached
بَعۡضُهُمۡ
ba'duhum
some of them
عَلَىٰ
ala
to
بَعۡضٖ
ba'din
others
يَتَلَٰوَمُونَ
yatalawamuna
blaming each other
٣٠
68:31
قَالُواْ
qalu
They said
يَٰوَيۡلَنَآ
yawaylana
O woe to us
إِنَّا
inna
Indeed we
كُنَّا
kunna
[we] were
طَٰغِينَ
taghina
transgressors
٣١
68:32
عَسَىٰ
asa
Perhaps
رَبُّنَآ
rabbuna
our Lord
أَن
an
[that]
يُبۡدِلَنَا
yub'dilana
will substitute for us
خَيۡرٗا
khayran
a better
مِّنۡهَآ
min'ha
than it
إِنَّآ
inna
Indeed we
إِلَىٰ
ila
to
رَبِّنَا
rabbina
our Lord
رَٰغِبُونَ
raghibuna
turn devoutly
٣٢
68:33
كَذَٰلِكَ
kadhalika
Such
ٱلۡعَذَابُۖ
al-'adhabu
(is) the punishment
وَلَعَذَابُ
wala'adhabu
And surely the punishment
ٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ
al-akhirati
(of) the Hereafter
أَكۡبَرُۚ
akbaru
(is) greater
لَوۡ
law
if
كَانُواْ
kanu
they
يَعۡلَمُونَ
ya'lamuna
know
٣٣
68:34
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
لِلۡمُتَّقِينَ
lil'muttaqina
for the righteous
عِندَ
inda
with
رَبِّهِمۡ
rabbihim
their Lord
جَنَّٰتِ
jannati
(are) Gardens
ٱلنَّعِيمِ
al-na'imi
(of) Delight
٣٤
68:35
أَفَنَجۡعَلُ
afanaj'alu
Then will We treat
ٱلۡمُسۡلِمِينَ
al-mus'limina
the Muslims
كَٱلۡمُجۡرِمِينَ
kal-muj'rimina
like the criminals
٣٥
68:36
مَا
ma
What
لَكُمۡ
lakum
(is) for you
كَيۡفَ
kayfa
How
تَحۡكُمُونَ
tahkumuna
(do) you judge
٣٦
68:37
أَمۡ
am
Or
لَكُمۡ
lakum
(is) for you
كِتَٰبٞ
kitabun
a book
فِيهِ
fihi
wherein
تَدۡرُسُونَ
tadrusuna
you learn
٣٧
68:38
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
لَكُمۡ
lakum
for you
فِيهِ
fihi
in it
لَمَا
lama
what
تَخَيَّرُونَ
takhayyaruna
you choose
٣٨
68:39
أَمۡ
am
Or
لَكُمۡ
lakum
for you
أَيۡمَٰنٌ
aymanun
oaths
عَلَيۡنَا
alayna
from us
بَٰلِغَةٌ
balighatun
reaching
إِلَىٰ
ila
to
يَوۡمِ
yawmi
(the) Day
ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِ
al-qiyamati
(of) the Resurrection
إِنَّ
inna
indeed
لَكُمۡ
lakum
for you
لَمَا
lama
(is) what
تَحۡكُمُونَ
tahkumuna
you judge
٣٩
68:40
سَلۡهُمۡ
salhum
Ask them
أَيُّهُم
ayyuhum
which of them
بِذَٰلِكَ
bidhalika
for that
زَعِيمٌ
za'imun
(is) responsible
٤٠
68:41
أَمۡ
am
Or
لَهُمۡ
lahum
(are) for them
شُرَكَآءُ
shurakau
partners
فَلۡيَأۡتُواْ
falyatu
Then let them bring
بِشُرَكَآئِهِمۡ
bishurakaihim
their partners
إِن
in
if
كَانُواْ
kanu
they are
صَٰدِقِينَ
sadiqina
truthful
٤١
68:42
يَوۡمَ
yawma
(The) Day
يُكۡشَفُ
yuk'shafu
will be uncovered
عَن
an
from
سَاقٖ
saqin
the shin
وَيُدۡعَوۡنَ
wayud'awna
and they will be called
إِلَى
ila
to
ٱلسُّجُودِ
al-sujudi
prostrate
فَلَا
fala
but not
يَسۡتَطِيعُونَ
yastati'una
they will be able

خَٰشِعَةً
khashi'atan
Humbled
أَبۡصَٰرُهُمۡ
absaruhum
their eyes
تَرۡهَقُهُمۡ
tarhaquhum
will cover them
ذِلَّةٞۖ
dhillatun
humiliation
وَقَدۡ
waqad
And indeed
كَانُواْ
kanu
they were
يُدۡعَوۡنَ
yud'awna
called
إِلَى
ila
to
ٱلسُّجُودِ
al-sujudi
prostrate
وَهُمۡ
wahum
while they
سَٰلِمُونَ
salimuna
(were) sound
٤٣
68:44
فَذَرۡنِي
fadharni
So leave Me
وَمَن
waman
and whoever
يُكَذِّبُ
yukadhibu
denies
بِهَٰذَا
bihadha
this
ٱلۡحَدِيثِۖ
al-hadithi
Statement
سَنَسۡتَدۡرِجُهُم
sanastadrijuhum
We will progressively lead them
مِّنۡ
min
from
حَيۡثُ
haythu
where
لَا
la
not
يَعۡلَمُونَ
ya'lamuna
they know
٤٤
68:45
وَأُمۡلِي
wa-um'li
And I will give respite
لَهُمۡۚ
lahum
to them
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
كَيۡدِي
kaydi
My plan
مَتِينٌ
matinun
(is) firm
٤٥
68:46
أَمۡ
am
Or
تَسۡـَٔلُهُمۡ
tasaluhum
you ask them
أَجۡرٗا
ajran
a payment
فَهُم
fahum
so they
مِّن
min
from
مَّغۡرَمٖ
maghramin
(the) debt
مُّثۡقَلُونَ
muth'qaluna
(are) burdened
٤٦
68:47
أَمۡ
am
Or
عِندَهُمُ
indahumu
(is) with them
ٱلۡغَيۡبُ
al-ghaybu
the unseen
فَهُمۡ
fahum
so they
يَكۡتُبُونَ
yaktubuna
write it
٤٧
68:48
فَٱصۡبِرۡ
fa-is'bir
So be patient
لِحُكۡمِ
lihuk'mi
for (the) decision
رَبِّكَ
rabbika
(of) your Lord
وَلَا
wala
and (do) not
تَكُن
takun
be
كَصَاحِبِ
kasahibi
like (the) companion
ٱلۡحُوتِ
al-huti
(of) the fish
إِذۡ
idh
when
نَادَىٰ
nada
he called out
وَهُوَ
wahuwa
while he
مَكۡظُومٞ
makzumun
(was) distressed
٤٨
68:49
لَّوۡلَآ
lawla
If not
أَن
an
that
تَدَٰرَكَهُۥ
tadarakahu
overtook him
نِعۡمَةٞ
ni'matun
a Favor
مِّن
min
from
رَّبِّهِۦ
rabbihi
his Lord
لَنُبِذَ
lanubidha
surely he would have been thrown
بِٱلۡعَرَآءِ
bil-'arai
onto (the) naked shore
وَهُوَ
wahuwa
while he
مَذۡمُومٞ
madhmumun
(was) blamed
٤٩
68:50
فَٱجۡتَبَٰهُ
fa-ij'tabahu
But chose him
رَبُّهُۥ
rabbuhu
his Lord
فَجَعَلَهُۥ
faja'alahu
and made him
مِنَ
mina
of
ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ
al-salihina
the righteous
٥٠
