يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
Yaaaʹayyuhal
O
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
you (who)
ءَامَنُوٓاْ
ʹaamanooo
believe
أَوۡفُواْ
ʹawfoo
Fulfil
بِٱلۡعُقُودِۚ
bilʻuq̣ood.
the contracts
أُحِلَّتۡ
ʹUḥillat
Are made lawful
لَكُم
lakum̃
for you
بَهِيمَةُ
baheematul
the quadruped
ٱلۡأَنۡعَٰمِ
ʹanʻaami
(of) the grazing livestock
إِلَّا
ʹillaa
except
مَا
maa-
what
يُتۡلَىٰ
yutlaa
is recited
عَلَيۡكُمۡ
ʻalaykum
on you
غَيۡرَ
g̣ayra
not
مُحِلِّي
muḥilliṣ
being permitted
ٱلصَّيۡدِ
ṣaydi
(to) hunt
وَأَنتُمۡ
wa-ʹañtum
while you
حُرُمٌۗ
ḥurum:
(are in) Ihram
إِنَّ
ʹinnal
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
يَحۡكُمُ
yaḥkumu
decrees
مَا
maa-
what
يُرِيدُ
yureed.
He wills
١
5:2
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
Yaaaʹayyuhal
O
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
you (who)
ءَامَنُواْ
ʹaamanoo
believe
لَا
laa-
(Do) not
تُحِلُّواْ
tuḥilloo
violate
شَعَٰٓئِرَ
Shaʻaaaʹiral
(the) rites
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
(of) Allah
وَلَا
wa-lash
and not
ٱلشَّهۡرَ
Shahral
the month
ٱلۡحَرَامَ
Ḥaraama
the sacred
وَلَا
wa-lal
and not
ٱلۡهَدۡيَ
hadya
the sacrificial animals
وَلَا
wa-lal
and not
ٱلۡقَلَٰٓئِدَ
q̣alaaʹida
the garlanded
وَلَآ
wa-laaa
and not
ءَآمِّينَ
ʹaaammeenal
(those) coming
ٱلۡبَيۡتَ
Baytal
(to) the House
ٱلۡحَرَامَ
Ḥaraama
the Sacred
يَبۡتَغُونَ
yabtag̣oona
seeking
فَضۡلٗا
faḍlam
Bounty
مِّن
mir
of
رَّبِّهِمۡ
Rabbihim
their Lord
وَرِضۡوَٰنٗاۚ
wa-riḍwaanaa.
and good pleasure
وَإِذَا
Wa-ʹiẓaa
And when
حَلَلۡتُمۡ
ḥalaltum
you come out of Ihram
فَٱصۡطَادُواْۚ
faṣṭaadoo.
then (you may) hunt
وَلَا
Wa-laa
And let not
يَجۡرِمَنَّكُمۡ
yajrimannakum
incite you
شَنَـَٔانُ
shanaʹaanu
(the) hatred
قَوۡمٍ
q̣awmin
(for) a people
أَن
ʹañ
as
صَدُّوكُمۡ
ṣaddookum
they stopped you
عَنِ
ʻanil
from
ٱلۡمَسۡجِدِ
Masjidil
Al-Masjid
ٱلۡحَرَامِ
Ḥaraami
Al-Haraam
أَن
ʹañ
that
تَعۡتَدُواْۘ
taʻtadoo.
you commit transgression
وَتَعَاوَنُواْ
Wa-taʻaawanoo
And help one another
عَلَى
ʻalal
in
ٱلۡبِرِّ
birri
[the] righteousness
وَٱلتَّقۡوَىٰۖ
wattaq̣waa,
and [the] piety
وَلَا
wa-laa
but (do) not
تَعَاوَنُواْ
taʻaawanoo
help one another
عَلَى
ʻalal
in
ٱلۡإِثۡمِ
ʹis̤mi
[the] sin
وَٱلۡعُدۡوَٰنِۚ
walʻudwaan:
and [the] transgression
وَٱتَّقُواْ
wattaq̣ul
And fear
ٱللَّهَۖ
laah:
Allah
إِنَّ
ʹinnal
indeed
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
شَدِيدُ
Shadeedul
(is) severe
ٱلۡعِقَابِ
ʻiq̣aab.
(in) [the] punishment

5:3
حُرِّمَتۡ
Ḥurrimat
Are made unlawful
عَلَيۡكُمُ
ʻalaykumul
on you
ٱلۡمَيۡتَةُ
may-tatu
the dead animals
وَٱلدَّمُ
waddamu
and the blood
وَلَحۡمُ
wa-laḥmul
and flesh
ٱلۡخِنزِيرِ
khiñzeeri
(of) the swine
وَمَآ
wa-maaa
and what
أُهِلَّ
ʹuhilla
has been dedicated
لِغَيۡرِ
lig̣ayril
to other than
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
Allah
بِهِۦ
bihee
[on it]
وَٱلۡمُنۡخَنِقَةُ
walmunkhaniq̣atu
and that which is strangled (to death)
وَٱلۡمَوۡقُوذَةُ
wal-mawq̣ooẓatu
and that which is hit fatally
وَٱلۡمُتَرَدِّيَةُ
wal-mutarad-diyatu
and that which has a fatal fall
وَٱلنَّطِيحَةُ
wan-naṭeeḥatu
and that which is gored by horns
وَمَآ
wa-maaa
and that which
أَكَلَ
ʹakalas
ate (it)
ٱلسَّبُعُ
sabuʻu
the wild animal
إِلَّا
ʹillaa
except
مَا
maa-
what
ذَكَّيۡتُمۡ
ẓakkaytum;
you slaughtered
وَمَا
wa-maa
and what
ذُبِحَ
ẓubiḥa
is sacrificed
عَلَى
ʻalan
on
ٱلنُّصُبِ
nuṣubi
the stone altars
وَأَن
wa-ʹañ
and that
تَسۡتَقۡسِمُواْ
tastaq̣simoo
you seek division
بِٱلۡأَزۡلَٰمِۚ
bil-ʹazlaam:
by divining arrows
ذَٰلِكُمۡ
ẓaalikum
that
فِسۡقٌۗ
fisq̣.
(is) grave disobedience
ٱلۡيَوۡمَ
ʹAlyawma
This day
يَئِسَ
yaʹisal
(have) despaired
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those who
كَفَرُواْ
kafaroo
disbelieved
مِن
miñ
of
دِينِكُمۡ
deenikum
your religion
فَلَا
falaa
so (do) not
تَخۡشَوۡهُمۡ
takhshawhum
fear them
وَٱخۡشَوۡنِۚ
wakhshawn.
but fear Me
ٱلۡيَوۡمَ
ʹAlyawma
This day
أَكۡمَلۡتُ
ʹakmaltu
I have perfected
لَكُمۡ
lakum
for you
دِينَكُمۡ
Deenakum
your religion
وَأَتۡمَمۡتُ
wa-ʹatmamtu
and I have completed
عَلَيۡكُمۡ
ʹalaykum
upon you
نِعۡمَتِي
niʻmatee
My Favor
وَرَضِيتُ
wa-raḍeetu
and I have approved
لَكُمُ
lakumul
for you
ٱلۡإِسۡلَٰمَ
ʹISLAAMA
[the] Islam
دِينٗاۚ
Deenaa.
(as) a religion
فَمَنِ
Famaniḍ
But whoever
ٱضۡطُرَّ
ṭurra
(is) forced
فِي
fee
by
مَخۡمَصَةٍ
makhmaṣatin
hunger
غَيۡرَ
g̣ayra
(and) not
مُتَجَانِفٖ
mutajaanifil
inclining
لِّإِثۡمٖ
liʹis̤miñ
to sin
فَإِنَّ
faʹinnal
then indeed
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
غَفُورٞ
G̣afoorur
(is) Oft-Forgiving
رَّحِيمٞ
Raḥeem.
Most Merciful
٣
5:4
يَسۡـَٔلُونَكَ
Yas-ʹaloonaka
They ask you
مَاذَآ
maaẓaaa
what
أُحِلَّ
ʹuḥilla
(is) made lawful
لَهُمۡۖ
lahum.
for them
قُلۡ
Q̣ul
Say
أُحِلَّ
ʹuḥilla
Are made lawful
لَكُمُ
lakumuṭ
for you
ٱلطَّيِّبَٰتُ
ṭayyibaatu
the good things
وَمَا
wa-maa
and what
عَلَّمۡتُم
ʻallamtum
you have taught
مِّنَ
minal
of
ٱلۡجَوَارِحِ
jawaariḥi
(your) hunting animals
مُكَلِّبِينَ
mukal-libeena
ones who train animals to hunt
تُعَلِّمُونَهُنَّ
tuʻallimoonahunna
you teach them
مِمَّا
mimmaa
of what
عَلَّمَكُمُ
ʻallamakumul
has taught you
ٱللَّهُۖ
laah:
Allah
فَكُلُواْ
fakuloo
So eat
مِمَّآ
mimmaaa
of what
أَمۡسَكۡنَ
ʹamsakna
they catch
عَلَيۡكُمۡ
ʻalaykum
for you
وَٱذۡكُرُواْ
waẓkurus
but mention
ٱسۡمَ
mal
(the) name
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
(of) Allah
عَلَيۡهِۖ
ʻalayh:
on it
وَٱتَّقُواْ
wattaq̣ul
and fear
ٱللَّهَۚ
laah;
Allah
إِنَّ
ʹinnal
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
سَرِيعُ
Sareeʻul
is swift
ٱلۡحِسَابِ
Ḥisaab.
(in taking) account
٤
5:5
ٱلۡيَوۡمَ
ʹAlyawma
This day
أُحِلَّ
ʹuḥhilla
are made lawful
لَكُمُ
lakumuṭ
for you
ٱلطَّيِّبَٰتُۖ
ṭayyibaat.
the good things
وَطَعَامُ
Wa-ṭaʻaamul
and (the) food
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
(of) those who
أُوتُواْ
ʹootul
were given
ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ
Kitaaba
the Book
حِلّٞ
ḥillul
(is) lawful
لَّكُمۡ
lakum,
for you
وَطَعَامُكُمۡ
wa-ṭaʻaamukum
and your food
حِلّٞ
ḥillul
(is) lawful
لَّهُمۡۖ
lahum.
for them
وَٱلۡمُحۡصَنَٰتُ
Wal-muḥṣanaatu
And the chaste women
مِنَ
minal
from
ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنَٰتِ
muʹminaati
the believers
وَٱلۡمُحۡصَنَٰتُ
wal-muḥṣanaatu
and the chaste women
مِنَ
minal
from
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those who
أُوتُواْ
ʹootul
were given
ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ
Kitaaba
the Book
مِن
miñ
from
قَبۡلِكُمۡ
q̣ablikum
before you
إِذَآ
ʹiẓaaa
when
ءَاتَيۡتُمُوهُنَّ
ʹaataytumoohunna
you have given them
أُجُورَهُنَّ
ʹujoorahunna
their bridal due
مُحۡصِنِينَ
muḥṣineena
being chaste
غَيۡرَ
g̣ayra
not
مُسَٰفِحِينَ
musaafiḥeena
being lewd
وَلَا
wa-laa
and not
مُتَّخِذِيٓ
muttakhiẓeee
ones (who are) taking
أَخۡدَانٖۗ
ʹakhdaan.
secret lovers
وَمَن
Wa-mañy
And whoever
يَكۡفُرۡ
yakfur
denies
بِٱلۡإِيمَٰنِ
bil-ʹeemaani
the faith
فَقَدۡ
faq̣ad
then surely
حَبِطَ
ḥabiṭa
(are) wasted
عَمَلُهُۥ
ʻamaluhoo
his deeds
وَهُوَ
wa-huwa
and he
فِي
fil
in
ٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ
ʹAakhirati
the Hereafter
مِنَ
minal
(will be) among
ٱلۡخَٰسِرِينَ
khaasireen.
the losers

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
Yaaaʹayyuhal
O you
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
who
ءَامَنُوٓاْ
ʹaamanooo
believe
إِذَا
ʹiẓaa
When
قُمۡتُمۡ
q̣umtum
you stand up
إِلَى
ʹilaṣ
for
ٱلصَّلَوٰةِ
Ṣalaati
the prayer
فَٱغۡسِلُواْ
fag̣siloo
then wash
وُجُوهَكُمۡ
wujoohakum
your faces
وَأَيۡدِيَكُمۡ
wa-ʹaydiyakum
and your hands
إِلَى
ʹilal
till
ٱلۡمَرَافِقِ
maraafiq̣i
the elbows
وَٱمۡسَحُواْ
wam-saḥoo
and wipe
بِرُءُوسِكُمۡ
biruʹoosikum
your heads
وَأَرۡجُلَكُمۡ
wa-ʹarjulakum
and your feet
إِلَى
ʹilal
till
ٱلۡكَعۡبَيۡنِۚ
kaʻbayn.
the ankles
وَإِن
Wa-ʹiñ
But if
كُنتُمۡ
kuñtum
you are
جُنُبٗا
junubañ
(in) a state of ceremonial impurity
فَٱطَّهَّرُواْۚ
faṭṭahharoo.
then purify yourselves
وَإِن
Wa-ʹiñ
But if
كُنتُم
kuñtum
you are
مَّرۡضَىٰٓ
marḍaaa
ill
أَوۡ
ʹaw
or
عَلَىٰ
ʻalaa
on
سَفَرٍ
safarin
a journey
أَوۡ
ʹaw
or
جَآءَ
jaaaʹa
has come
أَحَدٞ
ʹaḥadum
anyone
مِّنكُم
miñkum
of you
مِّنَ
minal
from
ٱلۡغَآئِطِ
g̣aaaʹiṭi
the toilet
أَوۡ
ʹaw
or
لَٰمَسۡتُمُ
laamastumun
has (had) contact
ٱلنِّسَآءَ
Nisaaaʹa
(with) the women
فَلَمۡ
falam
and not
تَجِدُواْ
tajidoo
you find
مَآءٗ
maaaʹañ
water
فَتَيَمَّمُواْ
fatayammamoo
then do tayyammum
صَعِيدٗا
ṣaʻeedañ
(with) earth
طَيِّبٗا
tayyibañ
clean
فَٱمۡسَحُواْ
famsaḥoo
then wipe
بِوُجُوهِكُمۡ
biwujoohikum
your faces
وَأَيۡدِيكُم
waʹaydeekum
and your hands
مِّنۡهُۚ
minh.
with it
مَا
Maa-
Does not
يُرِيدُ
yureedul
intend
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah
لِيَجۡعَلَ
liyajʻala
to make
عَلَيۡكُم
ʻalaykum
for you
مِّنۡ
min
any
حَرَجٖ
ḥarajiñw
difficulty
وَلَٰكِن
walaakiñy
but
يُرِيدُ
yureedu
He intends
لِيُطَهِّرَكُمۡ
liyuṭahhirakum
to purify you
وَلِيُتِمَّ
wa-liyutimma
and to complete
نِعۡمَتَهُۥ
niʻmatahoo
His Favor
عَلَيۡكُمۡ
ʻa
upon you
لَعَلَّكُمۡ
laʻallakum
so that you may
تَشۡكُرُونَ
tashkuroon.
(be) grateful
٦
5:7
وَٱذۡكُرُواْ
Waẓkuroo
And remember
نِعۡمَةَ
niʻmatal
(the) Favor
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
(of) Allah
عَلَيۡكُمۡ
ʻalaykum
upon you
وَمِيثَٰقَهُ
wa-Mees̤aaq̣ahul
and His covenant
ٱلَّذِي
laẓee
which
وَاثَقَكُم
waas̤aq̣akum̃
He bound you
بِهِۦٓ
biheee
with [it]
إِذۡ
ʹiẓ
when
قُلۡتُمۡ
q̣ultum
you said
سَمِعۡنَا
samiʻnaa
We heard
وَأَطَعۡنَاۖ
wa-ʹaṭaʻ
and we obeyed
وَٱتَّقُواْ
wattaq̣ul
and fear
ٱللَّهَۚ
laah:
Allah
إِنَّ
ʹinnal
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
عَلِيمُۢ
ʻAleemum
(is) All-Knower
بِذَاتِ
biẓaaṭiṣ
of what
ٱلصُّدُورِ
ṣudoor.
(is in) the breasts
٧
5:8
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
Yaaaʹayyuhal
O you
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
who
ءَامَنُواْ
ʹaamanoo
believe
كُونُواْ
koonoo
Be
قَوَّٰمِينَ
q̣awwaameena
steadfast
لِلَّهِ
lillaahi
for Allah
شُهَدَآءَ
shuhadaaaʹa
(as) witnesses
بِٱلۡقِسۡطِۖ
bilq̣isṭi
in justice
وَلَا
wa-laa
and let not
يَجۡرِمَنَّكُمۡ
yajrimannakum
prevent you
شَنَـَٔانُ
shanaʹaanu
hatred
قَوۡمٍ
q̣awmin
(of) a people
عَلَىٰٓ
ʻalaaa
[upon]
أَلَّا
ʹallaa
that not
تَعۡدِلُواْۚ
taʻdiloo.
you do justice
ٱعۡدِلُواْ
ʹIʻdiloo:
Be just
هُوَ
huwa
it
أَقۡرَبُ
ʹaq̣rabu
(is) nearer
لِلتَّقۡوَىٰۖ
littaq̣waa:
to [the] piety
وَٱتَّقُواْ
wattaq̣ul
And fear
ٱللَّهَۚ
laah.
Allah
إِنَّ
ʹInnal
indeed
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
خَبِيرُۢ
khabeerum
(is) All-Aware
بِمَا
bimaa
of what
تَعۡمَلُونَ
taʻmaloon.
you do
٨
5:9
وَعَدَ
Wa-ʻadal
Has promised
ٱللَّهُ
laahul
Allah
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those who
ءَامَنُواْ
ʹaamanoo
believe
وَعَمِلُواْ
wa-ʻamiluṣ
and do
ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ
Ṣaaliḥaati
the righteous deeds
لَهُم
lahum
for them
مَّغۡفِرَةٞ
mag̣firatuñw
(is) forgiveness
وَأَجۡرٌ
waʹajrun
and a reward
عَظِيمٞ
ʻaz̤̣eem.

5:10
وَٱلَّذِينَ
Wallaẓeena
And those who
كَفَرُواْ
kafaroo
disbelieve
وَكَذَّبُواْ
wa-kaẓẓaboo
and deny
بِـَٔايَٰتِنَآ
biʹAayaatinaaa
Our Signs
أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ
ʹulaaaʹika
those
أَصۡحَٰبُ
ʹAṣḥaabul
(are the) companions
ٱلۡجَحِيمِ
Jaḥeem.
(of) the Hellfire
١٠
5:11
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
Yaaa-ʹayyuhal
O you
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
who
ءَامَنُواْ
ʹaamanuẓ
believe
ٱذۡكُرُواْ
kuroo
Remember
نِعۡمَتَ
niʻmatal
(the) Favor
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
(of) Allah
عَلَيۡكُمۡ
ʻalaykum
upon you
إِذۡ
ʹiẓ
when
هَمَّ
hamma
determined
قَوۡمٌ
q̣awmun
a people
أَن
ʹañy
that
يَبۡسُطُوٓاْ
yabsuṭooo
they stretch
إِلَيۡكُمۡ
ʹilaykum
towards you
أَيۡدِيَهُمۡ
ʹaydiyahum
their hands
فَكَفَّ
fakaffa
but He restrained
أَيۡدِيَهُمۡ
ʹaydiyahum
their hands
عَنكُمۡۖ
ʻañkum:
from you
وَٱتَّقُواْ
wattaq̣ul
And fear
ٱللَّهَۚ
laah.
Allah
وَعَلَى
Wa-ʻalal
And upon
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
Allah
فَلۡيَتَوَكَّلِ
fal-yatawakkalil
so let put the trust
ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنُونَ
Muʹminoon.
the believers
١١
5:12
۞وَلَقَدۡ
Wa-laq̣ad
And certainly
أَخَذَ
ʹakhaẓal
took
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah
مِيثَٰقَ
Mees̤aaq̣a
a Covenant
بَنِيٓ
Baneee
(from the) Children
إِسۡرَٰٓءِيلَ
ʹIsraaaʹeela
(of) Israel
وَبَعَثۡنَا
wa-baʻas̤naa
and We appointed
مِنۡهُمُ
minhumus̤
among them
ٱثۡنَيۡ
na
two
عَشَرَ
ʻashara
(and) ten
نَقِيبٗاۖ
Naq̣eebaa.
leaders
وَقَالَ
Wa-q̣aalal
And said
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah
إِنِّي
ʹinnee
Indeed I (am)
مَعَكُمۡۖ
maʻakum:
with you
لَئِنۡ
laʹin
if
أَقَمۡتُمُ
ʹaq̣amtumuṣ
you establish
ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ
Ṣalaata
the prayer
وَءَاتَيۡتُمُ
wa-ʹaataytumuz
and give
ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ
Zakaata
the zakah
وَءَامَنتُم
wa-ʹaamañtum̃
and you believe
بِرُسُلِي
birusulee
in My Messengers
وَعَزَّرۡتُمُوهُمۡ
wa-ʻazzartumoohum
and you assist them
وَأَقۡرَضۡتُمُ
wa-ʹaq̣raḍtumul
and you loan
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
(to) Allah
قَرۡضًا
Q̣arḍan
a loan
حَسَنٗا
Ḥasanal
goodly
لَّأُكَفِّرَنَّ
laʹukaffiranna
surely I will remove
عَنكُمۡ
ʻañkum
from you
سَيِّـَٔاتِكُمۡ
sayyiʹaatikum
your evil deeds
وَلَأُدۡخِلَنَّكُمۡ
wa-laʹudkhilan-nakum
and I will surely admit you
جَنَّٰتٖ
Jannaatiñ
(to) gardens
تَجۡرِي
tajree
flow
مِن
miñ
from
تَحۡتِهَا
taḥ-tihal
underneath them
ٱلۡأَنۡهَٰرُۚ
ʹanhaar;
the rivers
فَمَن
famañ
But whoever
كَفَرَ
kafara
disbelieved
بَعۡدَ
baʻda
after
ذَٰلِكَ
ẓaalika
that
مِنكُمۡ
miñkum
among you
فَقَدۡ
faq̣ad
then certainly
ضَلَّ
ḍalla
he strayed
سَوَآءَ
sawaaa
(from) the way
ٱلسَّبِيلِ
ʹassabeel.
the right
١٢
5:13
فَبِمَا
Fabimaa
So for
نَقۡضِهِم
naq̣-ḍihim
their breaking
مِّيثَٰقَهُمۡ
Mees̤aaq̣ahum
(of) their covenant
لَعَنَّٰهُمۡ
laʻannaahum
We cursed them
وَجَعَلۡنَا
wa-jaʻalnaa
and We made
قُلُوبَهُمۡ
q̣uloobahum
their hearts
قَٰسِيَةٗۖ
q̣aasiyah.
hard
يُحَرِّفُونَ
Yuḥarrifoonal
They distort
ٱلۡكَلِمَ
kalima
the words
عَن
ʻamma
from
مَّوَاضِعِهِۦ
waaḍiʻihee
their places
وَنَسُواْ
wa-nasoo
and forgot
حَظّٗا
ḥaz̤̣z̤̣am
a part
مِّمَّا
mimmaa
of what
ذُكِّرُواْ

عَلَىٰ
ʻalaa

خَآئِنَةٖ
khaaaʹinatim
treachery
مِّنۡهُمۡ
minhum
from them
إِلَّا
ʹillaa
except
قَلِيلٗا
q̣aleelam
a few
مِّنۡهُمۡۖ
minhum
of them
فَٱعۡفُ
faʻfu
But forgive
عَنۡهُمۡ
ʻanhum
them
وَٱصۡفَحۡۚ
waṣfaḥ;
and overlook
إِنَّ
ʹinnal
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
يُحِبُّ
yuḥibbul
loves
ٱلۡمُحۡسِنِينَ
Muḥsineen.
the good-doers

5:14
وَمِنَ
Wa-minal
And from
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those who
قَالُوٓاْ
q̣aalooo
said
إِنَّا
ʹinnaa
Indeed we
نَصَٰرَىٰٓ
Naṣaaraaa
(are) Christians
أَخَذۡنَا
ʹakhaẓnaa
We took
مِيثَٰقَهُمۡ
Mee-s̤aaq̣ahum
their covenant
فَنَسُواْ
fanasoo
but they forgot
حَظّٗا
ḥaz̤̣z̤̣am
a part
مِّمَّا
mimmaa
of what
ذُكِّرُواْ
ẓukkiroo
they were reminded
بِهِۦ
bih:
of [it]
فَأَغۡرَيۡنَا
faʹag̣raynaa
So We aroused
بَيۡنَهُمُ
baynahumul
between them
ٱلۡعَدَاوَةَ
ʻadaawata
[the] enmity
وَٱلۡبَغۡضَآءَ
wal-bag̣ḍaaaʹa
and [the] hatred
إِلَىٰ
ilaa
till
يَوۡمِ
Yawmil
(the) Day
ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِۚ
Q̣iyaamah.
(of) the Resurrection
وَسَوۡفَ
Wa-sawfa
And soon
يُنَبِّئُهُمُ
yunabbiʹuhumul
will inform them
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah
بِمَا
bimaa
of what
كَانُواْ
kaanoo
they used to
يَصۡنَعُونَ
yaṣnaʻoon.

١٤
5:15
يَٰٓأَهۡلَ
YaaaʹAhlal
O People
ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ
kitaabi
(of) the Book
قَدۡ
q̣ad
Surely
جَآءَكُمۡ
jaaaʹakum
has come to you
رَسُولُنَا
Rasoolunaa
Our Messenger
يُبَيِّنُ
yubayyinu
making clear
لَكُمۡ
lakum
to you
كَثِيرٗا
kas̤eeram
much
مِّمَّا
mimmaa
of what
كُنتُمۡ
kuñtum
you used to
تُخۡفُونَ
tukhfoona
conceal
مِنَ
minal
of
ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ
Kitaabi
the Scripture
وَيَعۡفُواْ
wa-yaʻfoo
and overlooking
عَن
ʻañ
of
كَثِيرٖۚ
kas̤eer.
much
قَدۡ
Q̣ad
Surely
جَآءَكُم
jaaaʹakum
has come to you
مِّنَ
minal
from
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
Allah
نُورٞ
Nooruñw
a light
وَكِتَٰبٞ
Wa-Kitaabum
and a Book
مُّبِينٞ
Mubeen,
clear
١٥
5:16
يَهۡدِي
Yahdee
Guides
بِهِ
bihil
with it
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah
مَنِ
manit
(those) who
ٱتَّبَعَ
tabaʻa
seek
رِضۡوَٰنَهُۥ
Riḍwaanahoo
His pleasure
سُبُلَ
subulas
(to the) ways
ٱلسَّلَٰمِ
salaami
(of) the peace
وَيُخۡرِجُهُم
Wa-yukhrijuhum
and brings them out
مِّنَ
minaz̤̣
from
ٱلظُّلُمَٰتِ
z̤̣ulumaati
the darknessess
إِلَى
ʹilan
to
ٱلنُّورِ
noori
the light
بِإِذۡنِهِۦ
biʹiẓnihee
by His permission
وَيَهۡدِيهِمۡ
wa-yahdeehim
and guides them
إِلَىٰ
ʹilaa
to
صِرَٰطٖ
Ṣiraaṭim
(the) way
مُّسۡتَقِيمٖ
Mustaq̣eem.
(the) straight
١٦
5:17
لَّقَدۡ
Laq̣ad
Certainly
كَفَرَ
kafaral
disbelieved
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those who
قَالُوٓاْ
q̣aalooo
said
إِنَّ
ʹinnal
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
هُوَ
Huwal
He
ٱلۡمَسِيحُ
Maseeḥub
(is) the Messiah
ٱبۡنُ
nu
son
مَرۡيَمَۚ
Maryam.
(of) Maryam
قُلۡ
Q̣ul
Say
فَمَن
famañy
Then who
يَمۡلِكُ
yamliku
has power
مِنَ
minal
against
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
Allah
شَيۡـًٔا
sahyʹan
(in) anything
إِنۡ
ʹin
if
أَرَادَ
ʹaraada
He intends
أَن
ʹañy
to
يُهۡلِكَ
yuhlikal
destroy
ٱلۡمَسِيحَ
Maseeḥab
the Messiah
ٱبۡنَ
na
son
مَرۡيَمَ
Maryama
(of) Maryam
وَأُمَّهُۥ
wa-ʹummahoo
and his mother
وَمَن
wa-mañ
and whoever
فِي
fil
(is) in
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ
ʹarḍi
the earth
جَمِيعٗاۗ
jameeʻaa?
all
وَلِلَّهِ
Wa-lillaahi
And for Allah
مُلۡكُ
mulkus
(is the) dominion
ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ
samaawaati
(of) the heavens
وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ
wal-ʹarḍi
and the earth
وَمَا
wa-maa
and what
بَيۡنَهُمَاۚ
baynahumaa.
(is) between both of them
يَخۡلُقُ
Yakhluq̣u
He creates
مَا
maa-
what
يَشَآءُۚ
yashaaaʹ.
He wills
وَٱللَّهُ
Wallaahu
and Allah
عَلَىٰ
ʻalaa
(is) on
كُلِّ
kulli
every
شَيۡءٖ
shayʹiñ
thing
قَدِيرٞ
Q̣adeer.
All-Powerful
١٧

5:18
وَقَالَتِ
Wa-q̣aalatil
And said
ٱلۡيَهُودُ
Yahoodu
the Jews
وَٱلنَّصَٰرَىٰ
wan-Naṣaaraa
and the Christians
نَحۡنُ
naḥnu
We (are)
أَبۡنَٰٓؤُاْ
ʹabnaaaʹul
(the) children
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
(of) Allah
وَأَحِبَّٰٓؤُهُۥۚ
wa-ʹaḥibbaaaʹuh.
and His beloved
قُلۡ
Q̣ul
Say
فَلِمَ
falima
Then why
يُعَذِّبُكُم
yuʻaẓẓibukum̃
(does He) punish you
بِذُنُوبِكُمۖ
biẓunoobikum?
for your sins
بَلۡ
Bal
Nay
أَنتُم
ʹañtum̃
you (are)
بَشَرٞ
basharum
human beings
مِّمَّنۡ
mimman
from among (those)
خَلَقَۚ
khalaq̣:
He created
يَغۡفِرُ
yag̣firu
He forgives
لِمَن
limañy
[for] whom
يَشَآءُ
yashaaaʹu
He wills
وَيُعَذِّبُ
wa-yuʻaẓẓibu
and punishes
مَن
mañy
whom
يَشَآءُۚ
yashaaaʹ.
He wills
وَلِلَّهِ
Wa-lillaahi
And for Allah
مُلۡكُ
mulkus
(is the) dominion
ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ
samaawaati
(of) the heavens
وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ
wal-ʹarḍi
and the earth
وَمَا
wa-maa
and whatever
بَيۡنَهُمَاۖ
baynahumaa
(is) between them
وَإِلَيۡهِ
wa-ʹilayhil
and to Him
ٱلۡمَصِيرُ
maṣeer.
(is) the final return
١٨
5:19
يَٰٓأَهۡلَ
YaaaʹAhlal
O People
ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ
Kitaabi
(of) the Book
قَدۡ
q̣ad
Surely
جَآءَكُمۡ
jaaaʹakum
has come to you
رَسُولُنَا
Rasoolunaa
Our Messenger
يُبَيِّنُ
yubayyinu
he makes clear
لَكُمۡ
lakum
to you
عَلَىٰ
ʻalaa
[on]
فَتۡرَةٖ
fatratim
(after) an interval (of cessation)
مِّنَ
minar
of
ٱلرُّسُلِ
rusuli
the Messengers
أَن
ʹañ
lest
تَقُولُواْ
taq̣ooloo
you say
مَا
maa-
Not
جَآءَنَا
jaaaʹanaa
(has) come to us
مِنۢ
mim
any
بَشِيرٖ
basheeriñw
bearer of glad tidings
وَلَا
walaa
and not
نَذِيرٖۖ
naẓeer:
a warner
فَقَدۡ
faq̣ad
But surely
جَآءَكُم
jaaaʹakum̃
has come to you
بَشِيرٞ
Basheeruñw
a bearer of glad tidings
وَنَذِيرٞۗ
Wa-Naẓeer.
and a warner
وَٱللَّهُ
Wallaahu
And Allah
عَلَىٰ
ʻalaa
(is) on
كُلِّ
kulli
every
شَيۡءٖ
shayʹiñ
thing
قَدِيرٞ
Q̣adeer.
All-Powerful
١٩
5:20
وَإِذۡ
Wa-ʹiẓ
And when
قَالَ
q̣aala
said
مُوسَىٰ
Moosaa
Musa
لِقَوۡمِهِۦ
liq̣awmihee
to his people
يَٰقَوۡمِ
yaa-q̣awmiẓ
O my people
ٱذۡكُرُواْ
kuroo
remember
نِعۡمَةَ
niʻmatal
(the) Favor
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
(of) Allah
عَلَيۡكُمۡ
ʻalaykum
upon you
إِذۡ
ʹiẓ
when
جَعَلَ
jaʻala
He placed
فِيكُمۡ
feekum
among you
أَنۢبِيَآءَ
ʹambiyaaaʹa
Prophets
وَجَعَلَكُم
wajaʻalakum
and made you
مُّلُوكٗا
mulookañw
kings
وَءَاتَىٰكُم
wa-ʹaataakum
and He gave you
مَّا
maa
what
لَمۡ
lam
not
يُؤۡتِ
yuʹti
He (had) given
أَحَدٗا
ʹaḥadam
(to) anyone
مِّنَ
minal
from
ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
ʻaalameen.
the worlds
٢٠
5:21
يَٰقَوۡمِ
Yaa-q̣awmid
O my people
ٱدۡخُلُواْ
khulul
Enter
ٱلۡأَرۡضَ
ʹArḍal
the land
ٱلۡمُقَدَّسَةَ
Muq̣addasatal
the Holy
ٱلَّتِي
latee
which
كَتَبَ
katabal
(has been) ordained
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
(by) Allah
لَكُمۡ
lakum
for you
وَلَا
wa-laa
and (do) not
تَرۡتَدُّواْ
tartaddoo
turn
عَلَىٰٓ
ʻalaaa
on
أَدۡبَارِكُمۡ
ʹadbaarikum
your backs
فَتَنقَلِبُواْ
fatañq̣aliboo
then you will turn back
خَٰسِرِينَ
khaasireen.
(as) losers
٢١
5:22
قَالُواْ
Q̣aaloo
They said
يَٰمُوسَىٰٓ
yaa-Moosaaa
O Musa
إِنَّ
ʹinna
Indeed
فِيهَا
feehaa
in it
قَوۡمٗا
q̣awmañ
(are) people
جَبَّارِينَ
jabbaareena
(of) tyrannical strength
وَإِنَّا
wa-ʹinnaa
and indeed we
لَن
lan
never
نَّدۡخُلَهَا
nad-khulahaa
will enter it
حَتَّىٰ
ḥattaa
until
يَخۡرُجُواْ
yakhrujoo
they leave
مِنۡهَا
minhaa:
from it
فَإِن
faʹiñy
and if
يَخۡرُجُواْ
yakhrujoo
they leave
مِنۡهَا
minhaa
[from] it
فَإِنَّا
faʹinnaa
then certainly we (will)
دَٰخِلُونَ
daa-khiloon.
enter (it)
٢٢
5:23
قَالَ
Q̣aala
Said
رَجُلَانِ
rajulaani
two men
مِنَ
minal
from
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those who
يَخَافُونَ
yakhaafoona
feared (Allah)
أَنۡعَمَ
ʹanʻamal
(had) favored
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah
عَلَيۡهِمَا
ʻalayhimad
[on] both of them
ٱدۡخُلُواْ
khuloo
Enter
عَلَيۡهِمُ
ʻalayhimul
upon them
ٱلۡبَابَ
Baab:
(through) the gate
فَإِذَا
faʹiẓaa
then when
دَخَلۡتُمُوهُ
dakhal-tumoohu
you have entered it
فَإِنَّكُمۡ
faʹinnakum
then indeed you (will be)
غَٰلِبُونَۚ
g̣aaliboon.
victorious
وَعَلَى
Wa-ʻalal
And upon
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
Allah
فَتَوَكَّلُوٓاْ
fatawakkalooo
then put your trust
إِن
ʻiñ
if
كُنتُم
kuñtum
you are
مُّؤۡمِنِينَ
Muʹmineen.
believers
٢٣

5:24
قَالُواْ
Q̣aaloo
They said
يَٰمُوسَىٰٓ
yaa-Moosaaa
O Musa
إِنَّا
ʹinnaa
Indeed we
لَن
lan
never
نَّدۡخُلَهَآ
nad-khulahaaa
will enter it
أَبَدٗا
ʹa-badam
ever
مَّا
maa
for
دَامُواْ
daamoo
as long as they are
فِيهَا
feehaa
in it
فَٱذۡهَبۡ
faẓhab
So go
أَنتَ
ʹañta
you
وَرَبُّكَ
wa-Rabbuka
and your Lord
فَقَٰتِلَآ
faq̣aatilaaa
and you both fight
إِنَّا
ʹinnaa
Indeed we
هَٰهُنَا
haa-hunaa
are [here]
قَٰعِدُونَ
q̣aaʻidoon.
sitting
٢٤
5:25
قَالَ
Q̣aala
He said
رَبِّ
Rabbi
O my Lord
إِنِّي
ʹinnee
Indeed I
لَآ
laaa
(do) not
أَمۡلِكُ
ʹamliku
(have) power
إِلَّا
ʹillaa
except
نَفۡسِي
nafsee
(over) myself
وَأَخِيۖ
wa-ʹakhee
and my brother
فَٱفۡرُقۡ
fafruq̣
so (make a) separation
بَيۡنَنَا
baynanaa
between us
وَبَيۡنَ
wa-baynal
and between
ٱلۡقَوۡمِ
q̣awmil
the people
ٱلۡفَٰسِقِينَ
faasiq̣een.
(the) defiantly disobedient
٢٥
