46:2تَنزِيلُTañzeelul(The) revelationٱلۡكِتَٰبِKitaabi(of) the Bookمِنَminal(is) fromٱللَّهِlaahilAllahٱلۡعَزِيزِʻAzeezilthe All-MightyٱلۡحَكِيمِḤakeem.the All-Wise٢
46:3مَاMaa-Notخَلَقۡنَاkhalaq̣nasWe createdٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِsamaawaatithe heavensوَٱلۡأَرۡضَwal-ʹarḍaand the earthوَمَاwa-maaand whatبَيۡنَهُمَآbaynahumaaa(is) between both of themإِلَّاʹillaaexceptبِٱلۡحَقِّbilḥaq̣q̣iin truthوَأَجَلٖwa-ʹajalimand (for) a termمُّسَمّٗىۚmusammaa:appointedوَٱلَّذِينَwallaẓeenaBut those whoكَفَرُواْkafaroodisbelieveعَمَّآʻammaaafrom whatأُنذِرُواْʹuñẓiroothey are warnedمُعۡرِضُونَmuʻriḍoon.(are) turning away٣
46:4قُلۡQ̣ulSayأَرَءَيۡتُمʹaraʹaytumDo you seeمَّاmaawhatتَدۡعُونَtadʻoonayou callمِنmiñbesidesدُونِdoonilbesidesٱللَّهِlaahiAllahأَرُونِيʹarooneeShow meمَاذَاmaaẓaawhatخَلَقُواْkhalaq̣oothey have createdمِنَminalofٱلۡأَرۡضِʹarḍithe earthأَمۡʹamorلَهُمۡlahumfor themشِرۡكٞshirkuñ(is) any shareفِيfisinٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِۖsamaawaat?the heavensٱئۡتُونِيʹEetooneeBring meبِكِتَٰبٖbi-Kitaabima bookمِّنmiñfromقَبۡلِq̣ablibeforeهَٰذَآhaaẓaaathisأَوۡʹaworأَثَٰرَةٖʹas̤aaratima traceمِّنۡminofعِلۡمٍʻilminknowledgeإِنʹiñifكُنتُمۡkuñtumyou areصَٰدِقِينَṣaadiq̣een!truthful٤
46:5وَمَنۡWa-manAnd whoأَضَلُّʹaḍallu(is) more astrayمِمَّنmimmañythan (he) whoيَدۡعُواْyadʻoocallsمِنmiñbesidesدُونِdoonilbesidesٱللَّهِlaahiAllahمَنmalwhoلَّاlaawill not respondيَسۡتَجِيبُyastajeebuwill not respondلَهُۥٓlahoooto himإِلَىٰʹilaauntilيَوۡمِYawmil(the) DayٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِQ̣iyaamati(of) Resurrectionوَهُمۡwa-humand theyعَنʻañofدُعَآئِهِمۡduʻaaaʹihimtheir callsغَٰفِلُونَg̣aafiloon?(are) unaware٥
46:6وَإِذَاWa-ʹiẓaaAnd whenحُشِرَḥushiranare gatheredٱلنَّاسُnaasuthe peopleكَانُواْkaanoothey will beلَهُمۡlahumfor themأَعۡدَآءٗʹaʻdaaaʹañwenemiesوَكَانُواْWakaanooand they will beبِعِبَادَتِهِمۡbiʻibaadatihimof their worshipكَٰفِرِينَkaafireen!deniers٦
46:7وَإِذَاWa-ʹiẓaaAnd whenتُتۡلَىٰtutlaaare recitedعَلَيۡهِمۡʻalayhimto themءَايَٰتُنَاʹAayaatunaaOur VersesبَيِّنَٰتٖBayyinaatiñclearقَالَq̣aalalsayٱلَّذِينَlaẓeenathose whoكَفَرُواْkafaroodisbelieveلِلۡحَقِّlil-Ḥaq̣q̣iof the truthلَمَّاlammaawhenجَآءَهُمۡjaaaʹahumit comes to themهَٰذَاhaaẓaaThisسِحۡرٞsiḥrum(is) a magicمُّبِينٌmubeen!clear٧
46:8أَمۡʹAmOrيَقُولُونَyaq̣ooloonafthey sayٱفۡتَرَىٰهُۖtaraah?He has invented itقُلۡQ̣ulSayإِنِʹinifIfٱفۡتَرَيۡتُهُۥtaraytuhooI have invented itفَلَاfalaathen notتَمۡلِكُونَtamlikoonayou have powerلِيleefor meمِنَminalagainstٱللَّهِlaahiAllahشَيۡـًٔاۖshayʹaa.anythingهُوَHuwaHeأَعۡلَمُʹaʻlamuknows bestبِمَاbimaaof whatتُفِيضُونَtufeeḍoonayou utterفِيهِۚfeeh!concerning itكَفَىٰKafaaSufficient is HeبِهِۦbiheeSufficient is HeشَهِيدَۢاShaheedam(as) a Witnessبَيۡنِيbayneebetween meوَبَيۡنَكُمۡۖwa-baynakum!and between youوَهُوَWa-Huwaland HeٱلۡغَفُورُG̣afoorur(is) the Oft-ForgivingٱلرَّحِيمُRaḥeem.the Most Merciful٨
46:9قُلۡQ̣ulSayمَاmaa-NotكُنتُkuñtuI amبِدۡعٗاbidʻama new (one)مِّنَminaramongٱلرُّسُلِrusulithe Messengersوَمَآwa-maaaand notأَدۡرِيʹadreeI knowمَاmaa-whatيُفۡعَلُyufʻaluwill be doneبِيbeewith meوَلَاwa-laaand notبِكُمۡۖbikum.with youإِنۡʹInNotأَتَّبِعُʹattabiʻuI followإِلَّاʹillaabutمَاmaa-whatيُوحَىٰٓyooḥaaais revealedإِلَيَّʹilayyato meوَمَآwa-maaaand notأَنَا۠ʹanaI amإِلَّاʹillaabutنَذِيرٞNaẓeeruma warnerمُّبِينٞmubeen.clear٩
46:10قُلۡQ̣ulSayأَرَءَيۡتُمۡʹaraaytumDo you seeإِنʹiñifكَانَkaanait isمِنۡminfrom Allahعِندِʻiñdilfrom Allahٱللَّهِlaahifrom Allahوَكَفَرۡتُمwa-kafartum̃and you disbelieveبِهِۦbiheein itوَشَهِدَwa-shahidaand testifiesشَاهِدٞshaahiduma witnessمِّنۢmimfromبَنِيٓBaneee(the) Children of IsraelإِسۡرَٰٓءِيلَʹIsraaaʹeela(the) Children of Israelعَلَىٰʻalaatoمِثۡلِهِۦmis̤lihee(the) like thereofفَـَٔامَنَfaʹaamanathen he believedوَٱسۡتَكۡبَرۡتُمۡۚwastakbartum?while you are arrogantإِنَّʹInnalIndeedٱللَّهَlaahaAllahلَاlaa-(does) notيَهۡدِيyahdilguideٱلۡقَوۡمَq̣awmaz̤̣the peopleٱلظَّٰلِمِينَz̤̣aalimeen.the wrongdoers١٠
46:11وَقَالَWa-q̣aalalAnd sayٱلَّذِينَlaẓeenathose whoكَفَرُواْkafaroodisbelieveلِلَّذِينَlillaẓeenaof those whoءَامَنُواْʹaamanoobelieveلَوۡlawIfكَانَkaanait had beenخَيۡرٗاkhayramgoodمَّاmaanotسَبَقُونَآsabaq̣oonaaathey (would) have preceded usإِلَيۡهِۚʹilayh!to itوَإِذۡWa-ʹiẓAnd whenلَمۡlamnotيَهۡتَدُواْyahtadoothey (are) guidedبِهِۦbiheeby itفَسَيَقُولُونَfasayaq̣ooloonathey sayهَٰذَآhaaẓaaaThisإِفۡكٞʹifkuñ(is) a lieقَدِيمٞq̣adeem!ancient١١
46:12وَمِنWa-miñAnd before itقَبۡلِهِۦq̣abliheeAnd before itكِتَٰبُKitaabu(was the) ScriptureمُوسَىٰٓMoosaaa(of) Musaإِمَامٗاʹimaamañw(as) a guideوَرَحۡمَةٗۚWaraḥmah:and a mercyوَهَٰذَاwa-haaẓaaAnd thisكِتَٰبٞKitaabum(is) a Bookمُّصَدِّقٞmuṣaddiq̣ulconfirmingلِّسَانًاlisaanan(in) languageعَرَبِيّٗاʻArabiyyalArabicلِّيُنذِرَliyuñẓiralto warnٱلَّذِينَlaẓeenathose whoظَلَمُواْz̤̣alamoodo wrongوَبُشۡرَىٰwa-Bushraaand (as) glad tidingsلِلۡمُحۡسِنِينَlil-Muḥsineen.for the good-doers١٢
46:13إِنَّʹInnalIndeedٱلَّذِينَlaẓeenathose whoقَالُواْq̣aaloosayرَبُّنَاRabbunalOur Lordٱللَّهُlaahu(is) Allahثُمَّs̤ummasthenٱسۡتَقَٰمُواْtaq̣aamooremain firmفَلَاfalaathen noخَوۡفٌkhawfunfearعَلَيۡهِمۡʻalayhimon themوَلَاwa-laaand notهُمۡhumtheyيَحۡزَنُونَyaḥzanoon.will grieve١٣
46:14أُوْلَٰٓئِكَʹUlaaaʹikaThoseأَصۡحَٰبُʹAṣḥaabul(are the) companionsٱلۡجَنَّةِJannati(of) Paradiseخَٰلِدِينَkhaalideenaabiding foreverفِيهَاfeehaa:thereinجَزَآءَۢjazaaaʹama rewardبِمَاbimaafor whatكَانُواْkaanoothey used toيَعۡمَلُونَyaʻmaloon.do١٤
46:15وَوَصَّيۡنَاWa-waṣṣaynalAnd We have enjoinedٱلۡإِنسَٰنَʹiñsaana(on) manبِوَٰلِدَيۡهِbiwaalidayhito his parentsإِحۡسَٰنًاۖʹiḥsaanaa:kindnessحَمَلَتۡهُḥamalathuCarried himأُمُّهُۥʹummuhoohis motherكُرۡهٗاkurhañw(with) hardshipوَوَضَعَتۡهُwawaḍaʻathuand gave birth to himكُرۡهٗاۖkurhaa.(with) hardshipوَحَمۡلُهُۥWa-ḥamluhooAnd (the) bearing of himوَفِصَٰلُهُۥwa-fiṣaaluhooand (the) weaning of himثَلَٰثُونَs̤alaas̤oona(is) thirtyشَهۡرًاۚshahraa.month(s)حَتَّىٰٓḤattaaauntilإِذَاʹiẓaawhenبَلَغَbalag̣ahe reachesأَشُدَّهُۥʹashuddahoohis maturityوَبَلَغَwa-balag̣aand reachesأَرۡبَعِينَʹarbaʻeenafortyسَنَةٗsanatañyear(s)قَالَq̣aalahe saysرَبِّRabbiMy Lordأَوۡزِعۡنِيٓʹawziʻneeegrant me (the) powerأَنۡʹanthatأَشۡكُرَʹashkuraI may be gratefulنِعۡمَتَكَniʻmatakal(for) Your favorٱلَّتِيٓlateeewhichأَنۡعَمۡتَʹanʻamtaYou have bestowedعَلَيَّʻalayyaupon meوَعَلَىٰwa-ʻalaaand uponوَٰلِدَيَّwaalidayyamy parentsوَأَنۡwa-ʹanand thatأَعۡمَلَʹaʻmalaI doصَٰلِحٗاṣaaliḥañrighteous (deeds)تَرۡضَىٰهُtarḍaahuwhich please Youوَأَصۡلِحۡwa-ʹaṣliḥand make righteousلِيleefor meفِيfeeamongذُرِّيَّتِيٓۖẓurriyyatee.my offspringإِنِّيʹInneeindeedتُبۡتُtubtuI turnإِلَيۡكَʹilaykato Youوَإِنِّيwa-ʹinneeand indeed I amمِنَminalofٱلۡمُسۡلِمِينَMuslimeen.those who submit١٥
46:16أُوْلَٰٓئِكَʹUlaaaʹikalThoseٱلَّذِينَlaẓeena(are) the onesنَتَقَبَّلُnataq̣abbaluWe will acceptعَنۡهُمۡʻanhumfrom themأَحۡسَنَʹaḥsana(the) bestمَاmaa-(of) whatعَمِلُواْʻamiloothey didوَنَتَجَاوَزُwa-natajaawazuand We will overlookعَنʻañ[from]سَيِّـَٔاتِهِمۡsayyiʹaatihimtheir evil deedsفِيٓfeeeamongأَصۡحَٰبِʹaṣḥaabil(the) companionsٱلۡجَنَّةِۖJannah:(of) ParadiseوَعۡدَwaʻdaṣA promiseٱلصِّدۡقِṣidq̣iltrueٱلَّذِيlaẓeewhichكَانُواْkaanoothey wereيُوعَدُونَyooʻadoon.promised١٦
46:17وَٱلَّذِيWallaẓeeBut the one whoقَالَq̣aalasaysلِوَٰلِدَيۡهِliwaalidayhito his parentsأُفّٖʹuffilUffلَّكُمَآlakumaaato both of youأَتَعِدَانِنِيٓʹataʻidaanineeeDo you promise meأَنۡʹanthatأُخۡرَجَʹukhrajaI will be brought forthوَقَدۡwa-q̣adand have already passed awayخَلَتِkhalatiland have already passed awayٱلۡقُرُونُq̣uroonuthe generationsمِنmiñbefore meقَبۡلِيq̣ablee?before meوَهُمَاWa-humaaAnd they bothيَسۡتَغِيثَانِyastag̣ees̤aanilseek helpٱللَّهَlaaha(of) AllahوَيۡلَكَwaylakaWoe to youءَامِنۡʹaamin!BelieveإِنَّʹInnaIndeedوَعۡدَwaʻdal(the) Promiseٱللَّهِlaahi(of) Allahحَقّٞḥaq̣q̣.(is) trueفَيَقُولُFayaq̣ooluBut he saysمَاmaa-Notهَٰذَآhaaẓaaa(is) thisإِلَّآʹillaaabutأَسَٰطِيرُʹasaaṭeerul(the) storiesٱلۡأَوَّلِينَʹawwaleen!(of) the former (people)١٧
46:18أُوْلَٰٓئِكَʹUlaaaʹikalThose ٱلَّذِينَlaẓeena(are) the onesحَقَّḥaq̣q̣a(has) proved trueعَلَيۡهِمُʻalayhimulagainst themٱلۡقَوۡلُQ̣awluthe wordفِيٓfeeeamongأُمَمٖʹumamiñnationsقَدۡq̣ad(that) already passed awayخَلَتۡkhalat(that) already passed awayمِنmiñbefore themقَبۡلِهِمq̣ablihimbefore themمِّنَminalofٱلۡجِنِّjinni(the) jinnوَٱلۡإِنسِۖwal-ʹiñs:and the menإِنَّهُمۡʹinnahumIndeed theyكَانُواْkaanooareخَٰسِرِينَkhaasireen.(the) losers١٨
46:19وَلِكُلّٖWa-likulliñAnd for allدَرَجَٰتٞdarajaatum(are) degreesمِّمَّاmimmaafor whatعَمِلُواْۖʻamiloo,they didوَلِيُوَفِّيَهُمۡwa-liyuwaf-fiyahumand that He may fully compensate themأَعۡمَٰلَهُمۡʹaʻmaalahum(for) their deedsوَهُمۡWahumand theyلَاlaa-will not be wrongedيُظۡلَمُونَyuz̤̣lamoon.will not be wronged١٩
46:20وَيَوۡمَWa-YawmaAnd (the) Dayيُعۡرَضُyuʻraḍulwill be exposedٱلَّذِينَlaẓeenathose whoكَفَرُواْkafaroodisbelievedعَلَىʻalantoٱلنَّارِNaar.the FireأَذۡهَبۡتُمۡʹAẓhabtumYou exhaustedطَيِّبَٰتِكُمۡṭayyibaatikumyour good thingsفِيfeeinحَيَاتِكُمُḥayaatikumudyour lifeٱلدُّنۡيَاdunyaa(of) the worldوَٱسۡتَمۡتَعۡتُمwastamtaʻtum̃and you took your pleasuresبِهَاbihaa:thereinفَٱلۡيَوۡمَfal-YawmaSo todayتُجۡزَوۡنَtujzawnayou will be recompensedعَذَابَʻaẓaabal(with) a punishmentٱلۡهُونِhoonihumiliatingبِمَاbimaabecauseكُنتُمۡkuñtumyou wereتَسۡتَكۡبِرُونَtastakbiroonaarrogantفِيfilinٱلۡأَرۡضِʹarḍithe earthبِغَيۡرِbig̣ayrilwithoutٱلۡحَقِّḥaq̣q̣i[the] rightوَبِمَاwa-bimaaand becauseكُنتُمۡkuñtumyou wereتَفۡسُقُونَtafsuq̣oon.defiantly disobedient٢٠
46:21۞وَٱذۡكُرۡWaẓkurAnd mentionأَخَاʹAkhaa(the) brotherعَادٍʻAad:(of) AadإِذۡʹIẓwhenأَنذَرَʹañẓarahe warnedقَوۡمَهُۥq̣awmahoohis peopleبِٱلۡأَحۡقَافِbil-ʹAḤQ̣AAFIin the Al-Ahqaf وَقَدۡwa-q̣adand had already passed awayخَلَتِkhalatinand had already passed awayٱلنُّذُرُnuẓuru[the] warnersمِنۢmimbefore himبَيۡنِbaynibefore himيَدَيۡهِyadayhibefore himوَمِنۡwa-minand after himخَلۡفِهِۦٓkhalfiheeeand after himأَلَّاʹallaaThat notتَعۡبُدُوٓاْtaʻbudoooyou worshipإِلَّاʹillalexceptٱللَّهَlaah:AllahإِنِّيٓʹinneeeIndeed Iأَخَافُʹakhaafu[I] fearعَلَيۡكُمۡʻalaykumfor youعَذَابَʻaẓaabaa punishmentيَوۡمٍYawmin(of) a Dayعَظِيمٖʻaz̤̣eem.Great٢١
46:22قَالُوٓاْQ̣aaloooThey saidأَجِئۡتَنَاʹajiʹtanaaHave you come to usلِتَأۡفِكَنَاlitaʹfikanaato turn us awayعَنۡʻanfromءَالِهَتِنَاʹaalihatinaa?our godsفَأۡتِنَاFaʹtinaaThen bring usبِمَاbimaawhatتَعِدُنَآtaʻidunaaayou threaten usإِنʹiñifكُنتَkuñtayou areمِنَminaṣofٱلصَّٰدِقِينَṣaadiq̣een!the truthful٢٢
46:23قَالَQ̣aalaHe saidإِنَّمَاʹinnamalOnlyٱلۡعِلۡمُʻilmuthe knowledgeعِندَʻiñdal(is) with Allahٱللَّهِlaah:(is) with Allahوَأُبَلِّغُكُمwa-ʹuballig̣ukumand I convey to youمَّآmaaawhatأُرۡسِلۡتُʹursiltuI am sentبِهِۦbiheewith itوَلَٰكِنِّيٓwa-laakinneeebutأَرَىٰكُمۡʹaraakumI see youقَوۡمٗاq̣awmaña peopleتَجۡهَلُونَtajhaloon!ignorant٢٣
46:24فَلَمَّاfalammaaThen whenرَأَوۡهُraʹawhuthey saw itعَارِضٗاʻaariḍam(as) a cloudمُّسۡتَقۡبِلَmustaq̣bilaapproachingأَوۡدِيَتِهِمۡʹawdiyatihimtheir valleysقَالُواْq̣aaloothey saidهَٰذَاhaaẓaaThisعَارِضٞʻaariḍum(is) a cloudمُّمۡطِرُنَاۚmumṭirunaa!bringing us rainبَلۡBalNayهُوَhuwaitمَاmas(is) whatٱسۡتَعۡجَلۡتُمtaʻjaltum̃you were asking it to be hastenedبِهِۦۖbih!you were asking it to be hastenedرِيحٞreeḥuña windفِيهَاfeehaain itعَذَابٌʻAẓaabun(is) a punishmentأَلِيمٞʹaleem!painful٢٤
46:25تُدَمِّرُTudammiruDestroyingكُلَّkullaeveryشَيۡءِۭshayʹimthingبِأَمۡرِbiʹamriby (the) commandرَبِّهَاRabbihaa(of) its LordفَأَصۡبَحُواْfaʹaṣbaḥooThen they became (such)لَاlaa-notيُرَىٰٓyuraaais seenإِلَّاʹillaaexceptمَسَٰكِنُهُمۡۚmasaakinuhum!their dwellingsكَذَٰلِكَKaẓaalikaThusنَجۡزِيnajzilWe recompenseٱلۡقَوۡمَq̣awmalthe peopleٱلۡمُجۡرِمِينَmujrimeen![the] criminals٢٥
