مِّنَ

ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ
Kitaabi
the Book
يُؤۡمِنُونَ
yuʹminoona
They believe
بِٱلۡجِبۡتِ
bil-Jibti
in the superstition
وَٱلطَّٰغُوتِ
waṭ-Ṭaag̣ooti
and the false deities
وَيَقُولُونَ
wa-yaq̣ooloona
and they say
لِلَّذِينَ
lillaẓeena
for those who
كَفَرُواْ
kafaroo
disbelieve[d]
هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ
haaaʹulaaaʹi
These
أَهۡدَىٰ
ʹahdaa
(are) better guided
مِنَ
minal
than
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those who
ءَامَنُواْ
ʹaamanoo
believe[d]
سَبِيلًا
sabeelaa?
(as to the) way

Page 87
4:52
أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ
ʹUlaaaʹikal
Those
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
(are) the ones
لَعَنَهُمُ
laʻanahumul
(who have been) cursed
ٱللَّهُۖ
laah:
(by) Allah
وَمَن
wa-mañy
and whoever
يَلۡعَنِ
yalʻanil
(is) cursed
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
(by) Allah
فَلَن
falañ
then never
تَجِدَ
tajida
will you find
لَهُۥ
lahoo
for him
نَصِيرًا
naṣeeraa.
(any) helper
٥٢
4:53
أَمۡ
ʹAm
Or
لَهُمۡ
lahum
for them
نَصِيبٞ
naṣeebum
(is) a share
مِّنَ
minal
of
ٱلۡمُلۡكِ
mulki
the Kingdom
فَإِذٗا
faʹiẓal
Then
لَّا
laa
not would
يُؤۡتُونَ
yuʹtoonan
they give
ٱلنَّاسَ
naasa
the people
نَقِيرًا
naq̣eeraa?
(even as much as the) speck on a date seed
٥٣
4:54
أَمۡ
ʹAm
Or
يَحۡسُدُونَ
yaḥsudoonan
are they jealous
ٱلنَّاسَ
naasa
(of) the people
عَلَىٰ
ʻalaa
for
مَآ
maaa
what
ءَاتَىٰهُمُ
ʹaataahumul
gave them
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah
مِن
miñ
from
فَضۡلِهِۦۖ
faḍlih?
His Bounty
فَقَدۡ
Faq̣ad
But surely
ءَاتَيۡنَآ
ʹaataynaaa
We gave
ءَالَ
ʹAala
(the) family
إِبۡرَٰهِيمَ
ʹIbraaheemal
(of) Ibrahim
ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ
Kitaaba
the Book
وَٱلۡحِكۡمَةَ
wal-Ḥikmata
and [the] wisdom
وَءَاتَيۡنَٰهُم
wa-ʹaataynaahum
and [We] gave them
مُّلۡكًا
mulkan
a kingdom
عَظِيمٗا
ʻa-Z̤̣eemaa.
great
٥٤
4:55
فَمِنۡهُم
Faminhum
Then of them
مَّنۡ
man
(are some) who
ءَامَنَ
ʹaamana
believed
بِهِۦ
bihee
in him
وَمِنۡهُم
wa-minhum
and of them
مَّن
mañ
(are some) who
صَدَّ
ṣadda
turned away
عَنۡهُۚ
ʻanh:
from him
وَكَفَىٰ
wa-kafaa
and sufficient
بِجَهَنَّمَ
bi-Jahannama
(is) Hell
سَعِيرًا
saʻeeraa.
(as a) Blazing Fire
٥٥
4:56
إِنَّ
ʹInnal
Indeed
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those who
كَفَرُواْ
kafaroo
disbelieved
بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا
biʹAayaatinaa
in Our Signs
سَوۡفَ
sawfa
soon
نُصۡلِيهِمۡ
nuṣleehim
We will burn them
نَارٗا
Naaraa.
(in) a Fire
كُلَّمَا
kullamaa
Every time
نَضِجَتۡ
naḍijat
are roasted
جُلُودُهُم
julooduhum
their skins
بَدَّلۡنَٰهُمۡ
baddalnaahum
We will change their
جُلُودًا
juloodan
skins
غَيۡرَهَا
g̣ayrahaa
for other (than) that
لِيَذُوقُواْ
liyaẓooq̣ul
so that they may taste
ٱلۡعَذَابَۗ
ʻaẓaab:
the punishment
إِنَّ
ʹinnal
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
laha
Allah
كَانَ
kaana
is
عَزِيزًا
ʻAzeezan
All-Mighty
حَكِيمٗا
Ḥakeemaa.
All-Wise
٥٦
4:57
وَٱلَّذِينَ
Wallaẓeena
And those who
ءَامَنُواْ
ʹaamanoo
believe[d]
وَعَمِلُواْ
wa-ʻamiluṣ
and did
ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ
ṣaaliḥaati
the good deeds
سَنُدۡخِلُهُمۡ
sanudkhiluhum
We will admit them
جَنَّٰتٖ
Jannaatiñ
(in) Gardens
تَجۡرِي
tajree
flows
مِن
miñ
from
تَحۡتِهَا
taḥtihal
underneath it
ٱلۡأَنۡهَٰرُ
ʹanhaaru
the rivers
خَٰلِدِينَ
khaalideena
will abide
فِيهَآ
feehaaa
in it
أَبَدٗاۖ
ʹabadaa:
forever
لَّهُمۡ
lahum
For them
فِيهَآ
feehaaa
in it
أَزۡوَٰجٞ
ʹazwaajum
(are) spouses
مُّطَهَّرَةٞۖ
muṭahharah:
pure
وَنُدۡخِلُهُمۡ
wa-nudkhiluhum
and We will admit them
ظِلّٗا
z̤̣illañ
(in the) shade
ظَلِيلًا
z̤̣aleelaa.

4:58
۞إِنَّ
ʹInnal
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
يَأۡمُرُكُمۡ
yaʹmurukum
orders you
أَن
ʹañ
to
تُؤَدُّواْ
tuʹaddul
render
ٱلۡأَمَٰنَٰتِ
ʹamaanaati
the trusts
إِلَىٰٓ
ʹilaaa
to
أَهۡلِهَا
ʹahlihaa
their owners
وَإِذَا
wa-ʹiẓaa
and when
حَكَمۡتُم
ḥakamtum̃
you judge
بَيۡنَ
baynan
between
ٱلنَّاسِ
naasi
the people
أَن
ʹañ
to
تَحۡكُمُواْ
taḥkumoo
judge
بِٱلۡعَدۡلِۚ
bil-ʻadl!
with justice
إِنَّ
ʹInnal
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
نِعِمَّا
niʻimmaa
excellently
يَعِظُكُم
yaʻiz̤̣ukum̃
advises you
بِهِۦٓۗ
bih!
with it
إِنَّ
ʹInnal
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
كَانَ
kaana
is
سَمِيعَۢا
Sameeʻam
All-Hearing
بَصِيرٗا
Baṣeeraa.
All-Seeing
٥٨
4:59
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
Yaaaʹayyuhal
O you
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
who
ءَامَنُوٓاْ
ʹaamanooo
believe[d]
أَطِيعُواْ
ʹaṭeeʻul
Obey
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
وَأَطِيعُواْ
wa-ʹaṭeeʻur
and obey
ٱلرَّسُولَ
Rasoola
the Messenger
وَأُوْلِي
wa-ʹulil
and those
ٱلۡأَمۡرِ
ʹamri
(having) authority
مِنكُمۡۖ
miñkum.
among you
فَإِن
Faʹiñ
Then if
تَنَٰزَعۡتُمۡ
tanaazaʻtum
you disagree
فِي
fee
in
شَيۡءٖ
shayʹiñ
anything
فَرُدُّوهُ
faruddoohu
refer it
إِلَى
ʹilal
to
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
Allah
وَٱلرَّسُولِ
war-Rasooli
and the Messenger
إِن
ʹiñ
if
كُنتُمۡ
kuntum
you
تُؤۡمِنُونَ
tuʹminoona
believe
بِٱللَّهِ
billaahi
in Allah
وَٱلۡيَوۡمِ
wal-Yawmil
and the Day
ٱلۡأٓخِرِۚ
ʹAakhir.
[the] Last
ذَٰلِكَ
Ẓaalika
That
خَيۡرٞ
khayruñw
(is) best
وَأَحۡسَنُ
waʹaḥsanu
and more suitable
تَأۡوِيلًا
taʹweelaa.
(for final) determination

4:60
أَلَمۡ
ʹAlam
Do not
تَرَ
tara
you see
إِلَى
ʹilal
[towards]
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those who
يَزۡعُمُونَ
yazʻumoona
claim
أَنَّهُمۡ
ʹannahum
that they
ءَامَنُواْ
aamanoo
believe
بِمَآ
bimaaa
in what
أُنزِلَ
ʹuñzila
(is) revealed
إِلَيۡكَ
ʹilayka
to you
وَمَآ
wa-maaa
and what
أُنزِلَ
ʹuñzila
was revealed
مِن
miñ
from
قَبۡلِكَ
q̣ablika
before you
يُرِيدُونَ
yureedoona
They wish
أَن
ʹañy
to
يَتَحَاكَمُوٓاْ
yataḥaakamooo
go for judgment
إِلَى
ʹilaṭ
to
ٱلطَّٰغُوتِ
Ṭaag̣ooti
the false deities
وَقَدۡ
wa-q̣ad
and surely
أُمِرُوٓاْ
ʹumirooo
they were ordered
أَن
ʹañy
to
يَكۡفُرُواْ
yakfuroo
reject
بِهِۦۖ
bih.
[with] it
وَيُرِيدُ
Wayureedush
And wishes
ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنُ
Shayṭaanu
the Shaitaan
أَن
ʹañy
to
يُضِلَّهُمۡ
yuḍillahum
mislead them
ضَلَٰلَۢا
ḍalaalam
astray
بَعِيدٗا
baʻeedaa.
far away
٦٠
4:61
وَإِذَا
Wa-ʹiẓaa
And when
قِيلَ
q̣eela
it is said
لَهُمۡ
lahum
to them
تَعَالَوۡاْ
taʻaalaw
Come
إِلَىٰ
ʹilaa
to
مَآ
maaa
what
أَنزَلَ
ʹañzalal
(has) revealed
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah
وَإِلَى
wa-ʹilar
and to
ٱلرَّسُولِ
Rasooli
the Messenger
رَأَيۡتَ
raʹaytal
you see
ٱلۡمُنَٰفِقِينَ
Munaafiq̣eena
the hypocrites
يَصُدُّونَ
yaṣuddoona
turning away
عَنكَ
ʻañka
from you
صُدُودٗا
ṣudoodaa.
(in) aversion
٦١
4:62
فَكَيۡفَ
Fakayfa
So how
إِذَآ
ʹiẓaaa
when
أَصَٰبَتۡهُم
ʹaṣaabathum
befalls them
مُّصِيبَةُۢ
muṣeebatum
disaster
بِمَا
bimaa
for what
قَدَّمَتۡ
q̣addamat
sent forth
أَيۡدِيهِمۡ
ʹaydeehim
their hands
ثُمَّ
s̤umma
then
جَآءُوكَ
jaaaʹooka
they come to you
يَحۡلِفُونَ
yaḥlifoona
swearing
بِٱللَّهِ
billaahi
by Allah
إِنۡ
ʹin
Not
أَرَدۡنَآ
ʹaradnaaa
we intended
إِلَّآ
ʹillaaa
except
إِحۡسَٰنٗا
iḥsaanañw
good
وَتَوۡفِيقًا
watawfeeq̣aa!
and reconciliation
٦٢
4:63
أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ
ʹUlaaaʹikal
Those
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
(are) the ones who
يَعۡلَمُ
yaʻla
knows
ٱللَّهُ
mullaahu
Allah
مَا
maa-
what
فِي
fee
(is) in
قُلُوبِهِمۡ
q̣uloobihim
their hearts
فَأَعۡرِضۡ
faʹaʻriḍ
so turn away
عَنۡهُمۡ
ʻanhum
from them
وَعِظۡهُمۡ
wa-ʻiẓhum
and admonish them
وَقُل
wa-q̣ul
and say
لَّهُمۡ
lahum
to them
فِيٓ
feee
concerning
أَنفُسِهِمۡ
ʹañfusihim
their souls
قَوۡلَۢا
q̣awlam
a word
بَلِيغٗا
baleeg̣aa.
penetrating
٦٣
4:64
وَمَآ
Wa-maaa
And not
أَرۡسَلۡنَا
ʹarsalnaa
We sent
مِن
mir
any
رَّسُولٍ
Rasoolin
Messenger
إِلَّا
ʹillaa
except
لِيُطَاعَ
liyuṭaaʻa
to be obeyed
بِإِذۡنِ
biʹIẓnil
by (the) permission
ٱللَّهِۚ
laah.
(of) Allah
وَلَوۡ
Wa-law
And if
أَنَّهُمۡ
ʹannahum
[that] they
إِذ
ʹiz̤̣
when
ظَّلَمُوٓاْ
z̤̣alamooo
they wronged
أَنفُسَهُمۡ
ʹañfusahum
themselves
جَآءُوكَ
jaaaʹooka
(had) come to you
فَٱسۡتَغۡفَرُواْ
fastag̣farul
and asked forgiveness
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
(of) Allah
وَٱسۡتَغۡفَرَ
wastag̣fara
and asked forgiveness
لَهُمُ
lahumur
for them
ٱلرَّسُولُ
Rasoolu
the Messenger
لَوَجَدُواْ
lawajadul
surely they would have found
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
تَوَّابٗا
Tawwaabar
Oft-Forgiving
رَّحِيمٗا
Raḥeemaa.
Most Merciful
٦٤
4:65
فَلَا
Falaa
But no
وَرَبِّكَ
Wa-Rabbika
by your Lord
لَا
laa-
not
يُؤۡمِنُونَ
yuʹminoona
will they believe
حَتَّىٰ
ḥattaa
until
يُحَكِّمُوكَ
yuḥakkimooka
they make you judge
فِيمَا
fee-ma
about what
شَجَرَ
shajara
arises
بَيۡنَهُمۡ
baynahum
between them
ثُمَّ
s̤umma
then
لَا
laa-
not
يَجِدُواْ
yajidoo
they find
فِيٓ
feee
in
أَنفُسِهِمۡ
ʹañfusihim
themselves
حَرَجٗا
ḥarajam
any discomfort
مِّمَّا
mimmaa
about what
قَضَيۡتَ
q̣aḍayta
you (have) decided
وَيُسَلِّمُواْ
wa-yusal-limoo
and submit
تَسۡلِيمٗا
tasleemaa.
(in full) submission

وَلَوۡ
Wa-law
And if
أَنَّا
ʹannaa
[that] We
كَتَبۡنَا
katabnaa
(had) decreed
عَلَيۡهِمۡ
ʻalayhim
on them
أَنِ
ʹaniq̣
that
ٱقۡتُلُوٓاْ
tulooo
Kill
أَنفُسَكُمۡ
ʹanfusakum
yourselves
أَوِ
ʹawikh
or
ٱخۡرُجُواْ
rujoo
Go forth
مِن
miñ
from
دِيَٰرِكُم
diyarikum
your homes
مَّا
maa
not
فَعَلُوهُ
faʻaloohu
they would have done it
إِلَّا
ʹillaa
except
قَلِيلٞ
q̣aleelum
a few
مِّنۡهُمۡۖ
minhum:
of them
وَلَوۡ
wa-law
But if
أَنَّهُمۡ
ʹannahum
[that] they
فَعَلُواْ
faʻaloo
had done
مَا
maa-
what
يُوعَظُونَ
yooʻaz̤̣oona
they were advised
بِهِۦ
bihee
with [it]
لَكَانَ
lakaana
surely (it) would have been
خَيۡرٗا
khayral
better
لَّهُمۡ
lahum
for them
وَأَشَدَّ
wa-ʹashadda
and stronger
تَثۡبِيتٗا
tas̤beetaa;
strengthen(ing)
٦٦
4:67
وَإِذٗا
Wa-ʹiẓal
And then
لَّأٓتَيۡنَٰهُم
laʹaataynaahum
We would (have) given them
مِّن
mil
from
لَّدُنَّآ
ladunnaaa
Ourselves
أَجۡرًا
ʹajran
a reward
عَظِيمٗا
ʻaz̤̣eemaa;
great
٦٧
4:68
وَلَهَدَيۡنَٰهُمۡ
Wa-la-hadynaahum
And We would have guided them
صِرَٰطٗا
Ṣiraaṭam
(to the) way
مُّسۡتَقِيمٗا
Mustaq̣eema.
(the) straight
٦٨
4:69
وَمَن
Wa-mañy
And whoever
يُطِعِ
yuṭiʻil
obeys
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
وَٱلرَّسُولَ
war-Rasoola
and the Messenger
فَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ
faʹulaaaʹika
then those
مَعَ
maʻal
(will be) with
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those whom
أَنۡعَمَ
ʹanʻamal
has bestowed (His) Favor
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah
عَلَيۡهِم
ʻalayhim
upon them
مِّنَ
minan
of
ٱلنَّبِيِّـۧنَ
Nabiyeena
the Prophets
وَٱلصِّدِّيقِينَ
waṣ-Ṣiddeeq̣eena
and the truthful
وَٱلشُّهَدَآءِ
wash-Shuhadaaaʹi
and the martyrs
وَٱلصَّٰلِحِينَۚ
waṣ-Ṣaaliḥeen:
and the righteous
وَحَسُنَ
waḥasuna
And excellent
أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ
ʹulaaʹika
(are) those
رَفِيقٗا
Rafeeq̣aa.
companion(s)
٦٩
4:70
ذَٰلِكَ
Ẓaalikal
That
ٱلۡفَضۡلُ
Faḍlu
(is) the Bounty
مِنَ
minal
of
ٱللَّهِۚ
laah:
Allah
وَكَفَىٰ
wa-kafaa
and sufficient
بِٱللَّهِ
billaahi
Allah
عَلِيمٗا
ʻAleemaa.
(as) All-Knower
٧٠
4:71
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
Yaaaʹayyuhal
O you
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
who
ءَامَنُواْ
ʹaamanoo
believe[d]
خُذُواْ
khuẓoo
Take
حِذۡرَكُمۡ
ḥiẓrakum
your precautions
فَٱنفِرُواْ
fañfiroo
and advance
ثُبَاتٍ
s̤ubaatin
(in) groups
أَوِ
ʹawiñ
or
ٱنفِرُواْ
firoo
advance
جَمِيعٗا
jameeʻaa.
all together
٧١
4:72
وَإِنَّ
Wa-ʹinna
And indeed
مِنكُمۡ
miñkum
among you
لَمَن
lamal
(is he) who
لَّيُبَطِّئَنَّ
layubaṭṭiʹann:
lags behind
فَإِنۡ
faʹin
then if
أَصَٰبَتۡكُم
ʹaṣaabatkum
befalls you
مُّصِيبَةٞ
muṣeebatuñ
a disaster
قَالَ
q̣aala
he said
قَدۡ
q̣ad
Verily
أَنۡعَمَ
ʹanʻamal
(has) favored
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah
عَلَيَّ
ʻalayya
[on] me
إِذۡ
ʹiẓ
[when]
لَمۡ
lam
(that) not
أَكُن
ʹakum
I was
مَّعَهُمۡ
maʻahum
with them
شَهِيدٗا
shaheedaa.
present
٧٢
4:73
وَلَئِنۡ
Wa-laʹin
And if
أَصَٰبَكُمۡ
ʹaṣaabakum
befalls you
فَضۡلٞ
faḍlum
bounty
مِّنَ
minal
from
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
Allah
لَيَقُولَنَّ
layaq̣oolanna
he would surely say
كَأَن
kaʹal
as if
لَّمۡ
lam
(had) not
تَكُنۢ
takum
there been
بَيۡنَكُمۡ
baynakum
between you
وَبَيۡنَهُۥ
wabaynahoo
and between him
مَوَدَّةٞ
mawaddatuñy
any affection
يَٰلَيۡتَنِي
yaa-laytanee
Oh! I wish
كُنتُ
kuñtu
I had been
مَعَهُمۡ
maʻahum
with them
فَأَفُوزَ
faʹafooza
then I would have attained
فَوۡزًا
fawzan
a success
عَظِيمٗا
ʻa-Z̤̣eemaa!
great
٧٣
4:74
۞فَلۡيُقَٰتِلۡ
Falyuq̣aatil
So let fight
فِي
fee
in
سَبِيلِ
Sabeelil
(the) way
ٱللَّهِ
laahil
(of) Allah
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those who
يَشۡرُونَ
yashroonal
sell
ٱلۡحَيَوٰةَ
ḥayaatad
the life
ٱلدُّنۡيَا
dunyaa
(of) the world
بِٱلۡأٓخِرَةِۚ
bil-ʹAakhirah.
for the Hereafter
وَمَن
Wa-mañy
And whoever
يُقَٰتِلۡ
yuq̣aatil
fights
فِي
fee
in
سَبِيلِ
Sabeelil
(the) way
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
(of) Allah
فَيُقۡتَلۡ
fayuq̣tal
then he is killed
أَوۡ
ʹaw
or
يَغۡلِبۡ
yag̣lib
achieves victory
فَسَوۡفَ
fasawfa
then soon
نُؤۡتِيهِ
nuʹteehi
We will grant him
أَجۡرًا
ʹajran
a reward
عَظِيمٗا
ʻaz̤̣eemaa.
a great
٧٤

4:75
وَمَا
Wa-maa
And what
لَكُمۡ
lakum
for you
لَا
laa-
(that) not
تُقَٰتِلُونَ
tuq̣aatiloona
you fight
فِي
fee
in
سَبِيلِ
Sabeelil
(the) way
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
(of) Allah
وَٱلۡمُسۡتَضۡعَفِينَ
walmustaḍʻafeena
and (for) those who are weak
مِنَ
minar
among
ٱلرِّجَالِ
rijaali
the men
وَٱلنِّسَآءِ
wan-Nisaaaʹi
and the women
وَٱلۡوِلۡدَٰنِ
walwildaanil
and the children
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those who
يَقُولُونَ
yaq̣ooloona
say
رَبَّنَآ
Rabbanaaa
Our Lord
أَخۡرِجۡنَا
ʹakhrijnaa
take us out
مِنۡ
min
of
هَٰذِهِ
haaẓihil
this
ٱلۡقَرۡيَةِ
q̣aryatiz̤̣
[the] town
ٱلظَّالِمِ
z̤̣aalimi
[the] oppressor(s)
أَهۡلُهَا
ʹahluhaa;
(are) its people
وَٱجۡعَل
wajʻal
and appoint
لَّنَا
lanaa
for us
مِن
mil
from
لَّدُنكَ
laduñka
Yourself
وَلِيّٗا
waliyyañw
a protector
وَٱجۡعَل
wajʻal
and appoint
لَّنَا
lanaa
for us
مِن
mil
from
لَّدُنكَ
laduñka
Yourself
نَصِيرًا
naṣeeraa!
a helper
٧٥
4:76
ٱلَّذِينَ
Allaẓeena
Those who

ʹaamanoo
believe
يُقَٰتِلُونَ
yuq̣aatiloona
they fight
فِي
fee
in
سَبِيلِ
Sabeelil
(the) way
ٱللَّهِۖ
laahi
(of) Allah
وَٱلَّذِينَ
wallaẓeena
and those
كَفَرُواْ
kafaroo
who disbelieve
يُقَٰتِلُونَ
yuq̣aatiloona
they fight
فِي
fee
in
سَبِيلِ
Sabeeliṭ
(the) way
ٱلطَّٰغُوتِ
Ṭaag̣ooti
(of) the false deities
فَقَٰتِلُوٓاْ
faq̣aatilooo
So fight (against)
أَوۡلِيَآءَ
ʹawliyaaʹash
(the) friends
ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنِۖ
Shayṭaan:
(of) the Shaitaan
إِنَّ
ʹinna
Indeed
كَيۡدَ
kaydash
(the) strategy
ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنِ
Shayṭaani
(of) the Shaitaan
كَانَ
kaana
is
ضَعِيفًا
ḍaʻeefaa.
weak
٧٦
4:77
أَلَمۡ
ʹAlam
Have not
تَرَ
tara
you seen
إِلَى
ʹilal
[towards]
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those who
قِيلَ
q̣eela
(when) it was said
لَهُمۡ
lahum
to them
كُفُّوٓاْ
kuffooo
Restrain
أَيۡدِيَكُمۡ
ʻaydiyakum
your hands
وَأَقِيمُواْ
wa-ʹaq̣eemuṣ
and establish
ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ
Ṣalaata
the prayer
وَءَاتُواْ
wa-ʹaatuz
and give
ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ
Zakaah?
the zakah
فَلَمَّا
Falammaa
Then when
كُتِبَ
kutiba
was ordained
عَلَيۡهِمُ
ʻalayhimul
on them
ٱلۡقِتَالُ
q̣italu
the fighting
إِذَا
ʹiẓaa
then
فَرِيقٞ
fareeq̣um
a group
مِّنۡهُمۡ
minhum
of them
يَخۡشَوۡنَ
yakhshawnan
[they] fear
ٱلنَّاسَ
naasa
the people
كَخَشۡيَةِ
kakhashyatil
as (they) fear
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
Allah
أَوۡ
ʹaw
or
أَشَدَّ
ʹashadda
more intense
خَشۡيَةٗۚ
khashyah:
fear
وَقَالُواْ
wa-q̣aaloo
and they said
رَبَّنَا
Rabbana
Our Lord
لِمَ
lima
why
كَتَبۡتَ
katabta
have You ordained
عَلَيۡنَا
ʻalaynal
upon us
ٱلۡقِتَالَ
q̣itaal?
[the] fighting
لَوۡلَآ
Law- laaa
Why not
أَخَّرۡتَنَآ
ʹakhkhartanaaa
You postpone (it for) us
إِلَىٰٓ
ʹilaaa
to
أَجَلٖ
ʹajaliñ
a term
قَرِيبٖۗ
q̣areeb?
near
قُلۡ
Q̣ul
Say
مَتَٰعُ
mataaʻud
Enjoyment
ٱلدُّنۡيَا
dunyaa
(of) the world
قَلِيلٞ
q̣aleel:
(is) little
وَٱلۡأٓخِرَةُ
wal-ʹAakhiratu
and the Hereafter
خَيۡرٞ
khayrul
(is) better
لِّمَنِ
limanit
for whoever
ٱتَّقَىٰ
taq̣aa:
fears (Allah)
وَلَا
wa-laa
and not
تُظۡلَمُونَ
tuz̤̣lamoona
you will be wronged
فَتِيلًا
fateelaa.
(even as much as) a hair on a date-seed
٧٧
4:78
أَيۡنَمَا
ʹAynamaa
Wherever
تَكُونُواْ
takoonoo
you be
يُدۡرِككُّمُ
yudrikkumul
will overtake you
ٱلۡمَوۡتُ
mawtu
[the] death
وَلَوۡ
walaw
even if
كُنتُمۡ
kuñtum
you are
فِي
fee
in
بُرُوجٖ
buroojim
towers
مُّشَيَّدَةٖۗ
mushayyadah.
lofty
وَإِن
Wa-ʹiñ
And if
تُصِبۡهُمۡ
tuṣibhum
befalls them
حَسَنَةٞ
ḥasanatuñy
any good
يَقُولُواْ
yaq̣ooloo
they say
هَٰذِهِۦ
haaẓihee
This
مِنۡ
min
(is)
عِندِ
ʻiñdil
from
ٱللَّهِۖ
laah;
Allah
وَإِن
wa-ʹiñ
And if
تُصِبۡهُمۡ
tuṣibhum
befalls them
سَيِّئَةٞ
sayyiʹatuñy
any evil
يَقُولُواْ
yaq̣ooloo
they say
هَٰذِهِۦ
haaẓihee
This
مِنۡ
min
(is)
عِندِكَۚ
ʻiñdik.
(from) you
قُلۡ
Q̣ul
Say
كُلّٞ
kullum
All
مِّنۡ
min
(is)
عِندِ
ʻiñdil
from
ٱللَّهِۖ
laah.
Allah
فَمَالِ
Famaali
So what (is wrong)
هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ
haaaʹulaaaʹil
(with) these
ٱلۡقَوۡمِ
q̣awmi
[the] people
لَا
laa-
not
يَكَادُونَ
yakaadoona
do they seem
يَفۡقَهُونَ
yafq̣ahoona
(to) understand
حَدِيثٗا
ḥadees̤aa?
any statement
٧٨
4:79
مَّآ
Maaa
What(ever)
أَصَابَكَ
ʹaṣaabaka
befalls you
مِنۡ
min
of
حَسَنَةٖ
ḥasanatiñ
(the) good
فَمِنَ
faminal
(is) from
ٱللَّهِۖ
laah;
Allah
وَمَآ
wa-maaa
and whatever
أَصَابَكَ
ʹaṣaabaka
befalls you
مِن
miñ
of
سَيِّئَةٖ
sayyiʹatiñ
(the) evil
فَمِن
famin
(is) from
نَّفۡسِكَۚ
nafsik
yourself
وَأَرۡسَلۡنَٰكَ
Wa-ʹarsalnaaka
And We have sent you
لِلنَّاسِ
linnaasi
for the people
رَسُولٗاۚ
Rasoolaa.
(as) a Messenger
وَكَفَىٰ
Wa-kafaa
and is sufficient
بِٱللَّهِ
billaahi
Allah
شَهِيدٗا
Shaheedaa.
(as) a Witness

4:80
مَّن
Mañy
(He) who
يُطِعِ
yuṭiʻir
obeys
ٱلرَّسُولَ
Rasoola
the Messenger
فَقَدۡ
faq̣ad
then surely
أَطَاعَ
ʹaṭaaʻal
he obeyed
ٱللَّهَۖ
laah:
Allah
وَمَن
wa-mañ
and whoever
تَوَلَّىٰ
tawallaa
turns away
فَمَآ
famaaa
then not
أَرۡسَلۡنَٰكَ
ʹarsalnaaka
We (have) sent you
عَلَيۡهِمۡ
ʻalayhim
over them
حَفِيظٗا
ḥafeez̤̣aa.
(as) a guardian
٨٠
4:81
وَيَقُولُونَ
Wa-yaq̣ooloona
And they say
طَاعَةٞ
Ṭaaʻatun
(We pledge) obedience
فَإِذَا
faʹiẓaa
Then when
بَرَزُواْ
barazoo
they leave
مِنۡ
min
from
عِندِكَ
ʻiñdika
you
بَيَّتَ
bayyata
plan by night
طَآئِفَةٞ
ṭaaaʹifatum
a group
مِّنۡهُمۡ
minhum
of them
غَيۡرَ
g̣ayral
other than
ٱلَّذِي
laẓee
that which
تَقُولُۖ
taq̣ool.
you say
وَٱللَّهُ
Wallaahu
But Allah
يَكۡتُبُ
yaktubu
records
مَا
maa-
what
يُبَيِّتُونَۖ
yubayyitoon;
they plan by night
فَأَعۡرِضۡ
faʹaʻriḍ
So turn (away)
عَنۡهُمۡ
ʻanhum
from them
وَتَوَكَّلۡ
wa-tawakkal
and put (your) trust
عَلَى
ʻalal
in
ٱللَّهِۚ
lah:
Allah
وَكَفَىٰ
wa-kafaa
And sufficient
بِٱللَّهِ
billaahi
is Allah
وَكِيلًا
Wakeelaa.
(as) a Trustee
٨١
4:82
أَفَلَا
ʹAfalaa
Then (do) not
يَتَدَبَّرُونَ
yatadabbaroonal
they ponder
ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَۚ
Q̣urʹaan?
(on) the Quran
وَلَوۡ
Wa-law
And if
كَانَ
kaana
it had (been)
مِنۡ
min
(of)
عِندِ
ʻiñdi
from
غَيۡرِ
g̣ayril
other than
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
Allah
لَوَجَدُواْ
lawajadoo
surely they (would have) found
فِيهِ
fee-hikh
in it
ٱخۡتِلَٰفٗا
tilaafañ
contradiction
كَثِيرٗا
kas̤eeraa
much
٨٢
4:83
وَإِذَا
Wa-ʹiẓaa
And when
جَآءَهُمۡ
jaaaʹahum
comes to them
أَمۡرٞ
ʹamrum
a matter
مِّنَ
minal
of
ٱلۡأَمۡنِ
ʹamni
the security
أَوِ
ʹawil
or
ٱلۡخَوۡفِ
khawfi
[the] fear
أَذَاعُواْ
ʹaẓaaʻoo
they spread
بِهِۦۖ
bih.
[with] it
وَلَوۡ
Wa-law
But if
رَدُّوهُ
raddoohu
they (had) referred it
إِلَى
ʹilar
to
ٱلرَّسُولِ
rasooli
the Messenger
وَإِلَىٰٓ
wa-ʹilaaa
and to
أُوْلِي
ʹulil
those
ٱلۡأَمۡرِ
ʹamri
(having) authority
مِنۡهُمۡ
minhum
among them
لَعَلِمَهُ
laʻalimahul
surely would have known it
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those who
يَسۡتَنۢبِطُونَهُۥ
yastambiṭoonahoo
draw correct conclusion (from) it
مِنۡهُمۡۗ
minhum.
among them
وَلَوۡلَا
Wa-lawlaa
And if not
فَضۡلُ
Faḍlul
(had been the) bounty
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
(of) Allah
عَلَيۡكُمۡ
ʻalaykum
on you
وَرَحۡمَتُهُۥ
wa-Raḥmatuhoo
and His Mercy
لَٱتَّبَعۡتُمُ
lattabaʻtumush
surely you (would have) followed
ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنَ
Shayṭaana
the Shaitaan
إِلَّا
ʹillaa
except
قَلِيلٗا
q̣aleelaa.
a few
٨٣
4:84
فَقَٰتِلۡ
Faq̣aatil
So fight
فِي
fee
in
سَبِيلِ
Sabeelil
(the) way
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
(of) Allah
لَا
laa-
not
تُكَلَّفُ
tukallafu
are you responsible
إِلَّا
ʹillaa
except
نَفۡسَكَۚ
nafsaka
(for) yourself
وَحَرِّضِ
waḥarriḍil
And encourage
ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَۖ
Muʹmineen.
the believers
عَسَى
ʻAsal
perhaps
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah
أَن
ʹañy
will
يَكُفَّ
yakuffa
restrain
بَأۡسَ
baʹsal
(the) might
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
(of) those who
كَفَرُواْۚ
kafaroo:
disbelieved
وَٱللَّهُ
wallaahu
And Allah
أَشَدُّ
ʹashaddu
(is) Stronger
بَأۡسٗا
baʹsañw
(in) Might
وَأَشَدُّ
waʹashaddu
and Stronger
تَنكِيلٗا
tañkeelaa.
(in) punishment
٨٤
4:85
مَّن
Mañy
Whoever
يَشۡفَعۡ
yashfaʻ
intercedes
شَفَٰعَةً
shafaaʻatan
an intercession
حَسَنَةٗ
ḥasanatañy
good
يَكُن
yakul
will have
لَّهُۥ
lahoo
for him
نَصِيبٞ
naṣeebum
a share
مِّنۡهَاۖ
minhaa;
of it
وَمَن
wa-mañy
and whoever
يَشۡفَعۡ
yashfaʻ
intercedes
شَفَٰعَةٗ
shafaaʻatañ
an intercession
سَيِّئَةٗ
sayyiʹatañy
evil
يَكُن
yakul
will have
لَّهُۥ
lahoo
for him
كِفۡلٞ
kiflum
a portion
مِّنۡهَاۗ
minhaa:
of it
وَكَانَ
wa-kaanal
And is
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah
عَلَىٰ
ʻalaa
on
كُلِّ
kulli
every
شَيۡءٖ
shayʹim
thing
مُّقِيتٗا
Muq̣eetaa.
a Keeper
٨٥
4:86
وَإِذَا
Wa-ʹiẓaa
And when
حُيِّيتُم
ḥuyyeetum̃
you are greeted
بِتَحِيَّةٖ
bitaḥiyatiñ
with a greeting
فَحَيُّواْ
faḥayyoo
then greet
بِأَحۡسَنَ
biʹaḥsana
with better
مِنۡهَآ
minhaaa
than it
أَوۡ
ʹaw
or
رُدُّوهَآۗ
ruddoohaa.
return it
إِنَّ
ʹInnal
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
كَانَ
kaana
is
عَلَىٰ
ʻalaa
of
كُلِّ
kulli
every
شَيۡءٍ
shayʹin
thing
حَسِيبًا
Ḥas̤eebaa.
an Accountant
٨٦

4:87
ٱللَّهُ
ʹAllaahu
Allah
لَآ
laaa
(there is) no
إِلَٰهَ
ʹilaaha
god
إِلَّا
ʹillaa
except
هُوَۚ
huwa
Him
لَيَجۡمَعَنَّكُمۡ
layajmaʻannakum
surely He will gather you
إِلَىٰ
ʹilaa
to
يَوۡمِ
yawmil
(the) Day
ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِ
Q̣iyaamati
(of) Resurrection
لَا
laa-
no
رَيۡبَ
rayba
doubt
فِيهِۗ
feeh.
about it
وَمَنۡ
Wa-man
And who
أَصۡدَقُ
ʹaṣdaq̣u
(is) more truthful
مِنَ
minal
than
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
Allah
حَدِيثٗا
ḥadees̤aa?
(in) statement
٨٧
4:88
۞فَمَا
Famaa
So what
لَكُمۡ
lakum
(is the matter) with you
فِي
fil
concerning
ٱلۡمُنَٰفِقِينَ
Munaafiq̣eena
the hypocrites (that)
فِئَتَيۡنِ
fiʹatayni
(you have become) two parties
وَٱللَّهُ
wallaahu
While Allah
أَرۡكَسَهُم
ʹarkasahum̃
cast them back
بِمَا
bimaa
for what
كَسَبُوٓاْۚ
kasaboo?
they earned
أَتُرِيدُونَ
ʹAtureedoona
Do you wish
أَن
ʹañ
that
تَهۡدُواْ
tahdoo
you guide
مَنۡ
man
whom
أَضَلَّ
ʹaḍallal
is let astray
ٱللَّهُۖ
laah?
(by) Allah
وَمَن
Wa-mañy
And whoever
يُضۡلِلِ
yuḍlilil
is let astray
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
(by) Allah
فَلَن
falañ
then never
تَجِدَ
tajida
will you find
لَهُۥ
lahoo
for him
سَبِيلٗا
Sabeelaa.
a way
٨٨
4:89
وَدُّواْ
Waddoo
They wish
لَوۡ
law
if
تَكۡفُرُونَ
takfuroona
you disbelieve
كَمَا
kamaa
as
كَفَرُواْ
kafaroo
they disbelieved
فَتَكُونُونَ
fatakoonoona
and you would be
سَوَآءٗۖ
sawaaaʹa;
alike
فَلَا
falaa
So (do) not
تَتَّخِذُواْ
tattakhiẓoo
take
مِنۡهُمۡ
minhum
from them
أَوۡلِيَآءَ
ʹawliyaaaʹa
allies
حَتَّىٰ
ḥattaa
until
يُهَاجِرُواْ
yuhaajiroo
they emigrate
فِي
fee
in
سَبِيلِ
sabeelil
(the) way
ٱللَّهِۚ
laah;
(of) Allah
فَإِن
faʹiñ
But if
تَوَلَّوۡاْ
tawallaw
they turn back
فَخُذُوهُمۡ
fakhuẓoohum
seize them
وَٱقۡتُلُوهُمۡ
waq̣tuloohum
and kill them
حَيۡثُ
ḥays̤u
wherever
وَجَدتُّمُوهُمۡۖ
wajattumoohum;
you find them
وَلَا
wa-laa
And (do) not
تَتَّخِذُواْ
tattakhiẓoo
take
مِنۡهُمۡ
minhum
from them
وَلِيّٗا
waliyyañw
any ally
وَلَا
walaa
and not
نَصِيرًا
naṣeeraa:
any helper
٨٩
4:90
إِلَّا
ʹIllal
Except
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those who
يَصِلُونَ
yaṣiloona
join
إِلَىٰ
ʹilaa
[to]
قَوۡمِۭ
q̣awmim
a group
بَيۡنَكُمۡ
baynakum
between you
وَبَيۡنَهُم
wa-baynahum
and between them
مِّيثَٰقٌ
mees̤aaq̣un
(is) a treaty
أَوۡ
ʹaw
or
جَآءُوكُمۡ
jaaaʹookum
those who come to you
حَصِرَتۡ
ḥaṣirat
restraining
صُدُورُهُمۡ
ṣudooruhum
their hearts
أَن
ʹañy
that
يُقَٰتِلُوكُمۡ
yuq̣aatilookum
they fight you
أَوۡ
ʹaw
or
يُقَٰتِلُواْ
yuq̣aatiloo
they fight
قَوۡمَهُمۡۚ
q̣awmahum.
their people
وَلَوۡ
Wa-law
And if
شَآءَ
shaaaʹal
(had) willed
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah
لَسَلَّطَهُمۡ
lasallaṭahum
surely He (would have) given them power
عَلَيۡكُمۡ
ʹalaykum
over you
فَلَقَٰتَلُوكُمۡۚ
falaq̣aatalookum
and surely they (would have) fought you
فَإِنِ
Faʹiniʻ
So if
ٱعۡتَزَلُوكُمۡ
tazalookum
they withdraw from you
فَلَمۡ
falam
and (do) not
يُقَٰتِلُوكُمۡ
yuq̣aatilookum
fight against you
وَأَلۡقَوۡاْ
wa-ʹalq̣aw
and offer
إِلَيۡكُمُ
ʹilaykumus
to you
ٱلسَّلَمَ
salama
[the] peace
فَمَا
famaa
then not
جَعَلَ
jaʻalal
(has) made
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah
لَكُمۡ
lakum
for you
عَلَيۡهِمۡ
ʻalayhim
against them
سَبِيلٗا
sabeelaa.
a way
٩٠
4:91
سَتَجِدُونَ
Satajidoona
You will find
ءَاخَرِينَ
ʹaakhareena
others
يُرِيدُونَ
yureedoona
wishing
أَن
ʹañy
that
يَأۡمَنُوكُمۡ
yaʹmanookum
they be secure from you
وَيَأۡمَنُواْ
wa-yaʹmanoo
and they be secure from
قَوۡمَهُمۡ
q̣awmahum:
their people
كُلَّ
kulla
Everytime
مَا
maa-
that
رُدُّوٓاْ
ruddooo
they are returned
إِلَى
ʹilal
to
ٱلۡفِتۡنَةِ
fitnati
the temptation
أُرۡكِسُواْ
ʹurkisoo
they are plunged
فِيهَاۚ
feehaa:
into it
فَإِن
faʹil
So if
لَّمۡ
lam
not
يَعۡتَزِلُوكُمۡ
yaʻtazilookum
they withdraw from you
وَيُلۡقُوٓاْ
wa-yulq̣ooo
and offer
إِلَيۡكُمُ
ʹilaykumus
to you
ٱلسَّلَمَ
salama
[the] peace
وَيَكُفُّوٓاْ
wa-yakuffooo
and they restrain
أَيۡدِيَهُمۡ
ʹaydiyahum
their hands
فَخُذُوهُمۡ
fakhuẓoohum
then seize them
وَٱقۡتُلُوهُمۡ
waq̣tuloohum
and kill them
حَيۡثُ
ḥays̤u
wherever
ثَقِفۡتُمُوهُمۡۚ
s̤aq̣iftumoohum:
you find them
وَأُوْلَٰٓئِكُمۡ
wa-ʹulaaaʹikum
And those
جَعَلۡنَا
jaʻalnaa
We made
لَكُمۡ
lakum
for you
عَلَيۡهِمۡ
ʻalayhim
against them
سُلۡطَٰنٗا
sulṭaanam
an authority
مُّبِينٗا
mubeenaa.

وَمَا
Wa-maa
And not
كَانَ
kaana
is
لِمُؤۡمِنٍ
limuʹminin
for a believer
أَن
ʹañy
that
يَقۡتُلَ
yaq̣tula
he kills
مُؤۡمِنًا
Muʹminan
a believer
إِلَّا
ʹillaa
except
خَطَـٔٗاۚ
khaṭaʹaa.
(by) mistake
وَمَن
Wa-mañ
And whoever
قَتَلَ
q̣atala
killed
مُؤۡمِنًا
Muʹminan
a believer
خَطَـٔٗا
khaṭaʹañ
(by) mistake
فَتَحۡرِيرُ
fataḥreeru
then freeing
رَقَبَةٖ
raq̣abatim
(of) a slave
مُّؤۡمِنَةٖ
Muʹminatiñw
believing
وَدِيَةٞ
wadiyatum
and blood money
مُّسَلَّمَةٌ
musallamatun
(is to be) paid
إِلَىٰٓ
ʹilaaa
to
أَهۡلِهِۦٓ
ʹahliheee
his family
إِلَّآ
ʹillaaa
unless
أَن
ʹañy
that
يَصَّدَّقُواْۚ
yaṣṣaddaq̣oo.
they remit (as) charity
فَإِن
Faʹiñ
But if
كَانَ
kaana
(he) was
مِن
miñ
from
قَوۡمٍ
q̣awmin
a people
عَدُوّٖ
ʻaduwwil
hostile
لَّكُمۡ
lakum
to you
وَهُوَ
wa-huwa
and he was
مُؤۡمِنٞ
Muʹminuñ
a believer
فَتَحۡرِيرُ
fataḥreeru
then freeing
رَقَبَةٖ
raq̣abatim
(of) a believing slave
مُّؤۡمِنَةٖۖ
Muʹminah.
believing
وَإِن
Wa-ʹiñ
And if
كَانَ
kaana
(he) was
مِن
miñ
from
قَوۡمِۭ
q̣awmim
a people
بَيۡنَكُمۡ
baynakum
between you
وَبَيۡنَهُم
wa-baynahum
and between them
مِّيثَٰقٞ
mees̤aaq̣uñ
(is) a treaty
فَدِيَةٞ
fadiyatum
then blood money
مُّسَلَّمَةٌ
musallamatun
(is to be) paid
إِلَىٰٓ
ʹilaaa
to
أَهۡلِهِۦ
ʹahlihee
his family
وَتَحۡرِيرُ
wa-taḥreeru
and freeing
رَقَبَةٖ
raq̣abatim
(of) a slave
مُّؤۡمِنَةٖۖ
Muʹminah.
believing
فَمَن
Famal
And whoever
لَّمۡ
lam
(does) not
يَجِدۡ
yajid
find
فَصِيَامُ
fa-Ṣiyaamu
then fasting
شَهۡرَيۡنِ
Shahrayni
(for) two months
مُتَتَابِعَيۡنِ
mutataabiʻayn:
consecutively
تَوۡبَةٗ
tawbatam
(seeking) repentance
مِّنَ
minal
from

and is
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah
عَلِيمًا
ʻaleeman
All-Knowing
حَكِيمٗا
Ḥakeemaa.
All-Wise
٩٢
4:93
وَمَن
Wa-mañy
And whoever
يَقۡتُلۡ
yaq̣tul
kills
مُؤۡمِنٗا
Muʹminam
a believer
مُّتَعَمِّدٗا
mutaʻammidañ
intentionally
فَجَزَآؤُهُۥ
fajazaaaʹuhoo
then his recompense
جَهَنَّمُ
Jahannamu
(is) Hell
خَٰلِدٗا
khaalidañ
abiding forever
فِيهَا
feehaa
in it
وَغَضِبَ
wa-g̣aḍibal
and will fall the wrath
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
(of) Allah
عَلَيۡهِ
ʻalayhi
on him
وَلَعَنَهُۥ
wa-laʻanahoo
and He (will) curse him
وَأَعَدَّ
wa-ʹaʻadda
and He has prepared
لَهُۥ
lahoo
for him
عَذَابًا
ʻaẓaaban
a punishment
عَظِيمٗا
ʻa-Z̤̣eemaa.

4:94
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
Yaaaʹayyuhal
O you
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
who
ءَامَنُوٓاْ
ʹaamanooo
believe[d]
إِذَا
ʹiẓaa
When
ضَرَبۡتُمۡ
ḍarabtum
you go forth
فِي
fee
in
سَبِيلِ
Sabeelil
(the) way
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
(of) Allah
فَتَبَيَّنُواْ
fatabayyanoo
then investigate
وَلَا
wa-laa
and (do) not
تَقُولُواْ
taq̣ooloo
say
لِمَنۡ
liman
to (the one) who
أَلۡقَىٰٓ
ʹalq̣aaa
offers
إِلَيۡكُمُ
ʹilaykumus
to you
ٱلسَّلَٰمَ
salaama
(a greeting of) peace
لَسۡتَ
lasta
You are not
مُؤۡمِنٗا
Muʹminaa!
a believer
تَبۡتَغُونَ
tabtag̣oona
seeking
عَرَضَ
ʻaraḍal
transitory gains
ٱلۡحَيَوٰةِ
ḥayaatid
(of) the life
ٱلدُّنۡيَا
dunyaa:
(of) the world
فَعِندَ
faʻiñdal
for with
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
Allah
مَغَانِمُ
mag̣aanimu
(are) booties
كَثِيرَةٞۚ
kas̤eerah.
abundant
كَذَٰلِكَ
Kaẓaalika
Like that
كُنتُم
kuñtum
you were
مِّن
miñ
from
قَبۡلُ
q̣ablu
before
فَمَنَّ
famannal
then conferred favor
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah
عَلَيۡكُمۡ
ʻalaykum
upon you
فَتَبَيَّنُوٓاْۚ
fatabayyanoo.
so investigate
إِنَّ
ʹInnal
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
كَانَ
kaana
is
بِمَا
bimaa
of what
تَعۡمَلُونَ
taʻmaloona
you do
خَبِيرٗا
Khabeeraa.

لَّا
Laa-
Not
يَسۡتَوِي
yastawil
(are) equal
ٱلۡقَٰعِدُونَ
q̣aaʻidoona
the ones who sit
مِنَ
minal
among
ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
Muʹmineena
the believers
غَيۡرُ
g̣ayru
other than
أُوْلِي
ʹuliḍ
the ones (who are)
ٱلضَّرَرِ
ḍarari
[the] disabled
وَٱلۡمُجَٰهِدُونَ
wal-Mujaahidoona
and the ones who strive
فِي
fee
in
سَبِيلِ
Sabeelil
(the) way
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
(of) Allah
بِأَمۡوَٰلِهِمۡ
biʹamwaalihim
with their wealth
وَأَنفُسِهِمۡۚ
wa-ʹañfusihim.
and their lives
فَضَّلَ
Faḍḍalal
Preferred
ٱللَّهُ
laahul
(has) Allah
ٱلۡمُجَٰهِدِينَ
Mujaahideena
the ones who strive
بِأَمۡوَٰلِهِمۡ
biamwaalihim
with their wealth
وَأَنفُسِهِمۡ
wa-ʹañfusihim
and their lives
عَلَى
ʻalal
to
ٱلۡقَٰعِدِينَ
q̣aaʻideena
the ones who sit
دَرَجَةٗۚ
darajah
(in) rank
وَكُلّٗا
wa-kullañw
And (to) all
وَعَدَ
waʻdal
promised
ٱللَّهُ
laahul
(has) Allah
ٱلۡحُسۡنَىٰۚ
ḥusnaa:
the best
وَفَضَّلَ
wa-faḍḍalal
preferred
ٱللَّهُ
laahul
(has) Allah
ٱلۡمُجَٰهِدِينَ
Mujaahideena
the ones who strive
عَلَى
ʻalal
over
ٱلۡقَٰعِدِينَ
q̣aaʻideena
the ones who sit
أَجۡرًا
ʹajran
(with) a reward
عَظِيمٗا
ʻaz̤̣eemaa;―
great
٩٥
4:96
دَرَجَٰتٖ
Darajaatim
Ranks
مِّنۡهُ
minhu
from Him
وَمَغۡفِرَةٗ
wa-mag̣firatañw
and forgiveness
وَرَحۡمَةٗۚ
waraḥmah.
and mercy
وَكَانَ
Wa-kaanal
And is
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah
غَفُورٗا
G̣afoorar
Oft-Forgiving
رَّحِيمًا
Raḥeemaa.
Most Merciful
٩٦
4:97
إِنَّ
ʹInnal
Indeed
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those whom
تَوَفَّىٰهُمُ
tawaffaahumul
take them (in death)
ٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ
malaaaʹikatu
the Angels
ظَالِمِيٓ
z̤̣aalimeee
(while) they (were) wronging
أَنفُسِهِمۡ
ʹañfusihim
themselves
قَالُواْ
q̣aaloo
they say
فِيمَ
feema
In what (condition)
كُنتُمۡۖ
kuñtum:
were you
قَالُواْ
Q̣aaloo
They said
كُنَّا
kunnaa
We were
مُسۡتَضۡعَفِينَ
mustaḍʻafeena
oppressed
فِي
fil
in
ٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ
ʹarḍ.
the earth
قَالُوٓاْ
Q̣aalooo
They said
أَلَمۡ
ʹalam
Not
تَكُنۡ
takun
was
أَرۡضُ
ʹarḍul
(the) earth
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
(of) Allah
وَٰسِعَةٗ
waasiʻatañ
spacious (enough)
فَتُهَاجِرُواْ
fatuhaajiroo
so that you (could) emigrate
فِيهَاۚ
feehaa?
in it
فَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ
Faʹulaaaika
Then those
مَأۡوَىٰهُمۡ
maʹwaahum
(will have) their abode
جَهَنَّمُۖ
Jahannam,
(in) Hell
وَسَآءَتۡ
Wasaaaʹat
and it is an evil
مَصِيرًا
maṣeeraa:
destination
٩٧
4:98
إِلَّا
ʹIllal
Except
ٱلۡمُسۡتَضۡعَفِينَ
mustaḍʻafeena
the oppressed
مِنَ
minar
among
ٱلرِّجَالِ
rijaali
the men
وَٱلنِّسَآءِ
wannisaaaʹi
and the women
وَٱلۡوِلۡدَٰنِ
walwildaani
and the children
لَا
laa-
(who) not
يَسۡتَطِيعُونَ
yastaṭeeʻoona
are able to
حِيلَةٗ
ḥeelatañw
plan
وَلَا
walaa
and not
يَهۡتَدُونَ
yahtadoona
they are directed
سَبِيلٗا
sabeelaa.
(to) a way
٩٨
4:99
فَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ
Faʹulaaaʹika
Then those
عَسَى
ʻasal
may be
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah
أَن
ʹañy
will
يَعۡفُوَ
yaʻfuwa
pardon
عَنۡهُمۡۚ
ʻanhum:
[on] them
وَكَانَ
wa-kaanal
and is
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah
عَفُوًّا
ʻAfuwwan
Oft-Pardoning
غَفُورٗا
G̣afooraa.
Oft-Forgiving
٩٩
4:100
۞وَمَن
Wa-mañy
And whoever
يُهَاجِرۡ
yuhaajir
emigrates
فِي
fee
in
سَبِيلِ
Sabeelil
(the) way
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
(of) Allah
يَجِدۡ
yajid
will find
فِي
fil
in
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ
ʹarḍi
the earth
مُرَٰغَمٗا
muraag̣amañ
place(s) of refuge
كَثِيرٗا
kas̤eerañw
many
وَسَعَةٗۚ
wasaʻah.
and abundance
وَمَن
wa-mañy
And whoever
يَخۡرُجۡ
yakhruj
leaves
مِنۢ
mim
from
بَيۡتِهِۦ
baytihee
his home
مُهَاجِرًا
muhaajiran
(as) an emigrant
إِلَى
ʹilal
to
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
Allah
وَرَسُولِهِۦ
wa-Rasoolihee
and His Messenger
ثُمَّ
s̤umma
then
يُدۡرِكۡهُ
yudrikhul
overtakes him
ٱلۡمَوۡتُ
mawtu
[the] death
فَقَدۡ
faq̣ad
then certainly
وَقَعَ
waq̣aʻa
(became) incumbent
أَجۡرُهُۥ
ajruhoo
his reward
عَلَى
ʻalal
on
ٱللَّهِۗ
laah:
Allah
وَكَانَ
wa-kaanal
And is
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah
غَفُورٗا
G̣afoorar
Oft-Forgiving
رَّحِيمٗا
Raḥeemaa.
Most Merciful
