Faʹaẓaaq̣ahumul
So Allah made them
ٱللَّهُ

So Allah made them
ٱلۡخِزۡيَ

the disgrace
فِي

ٱلۡحَيَوٰةِ
ḥayaatid
the life
ٱلدُّنۡيَاۖ
dunyaa
(of) the world
وَلَعَذَابُ
wa-laʻAẓaabul
and certainly (the) punishment
ٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ
ʹAakhirati
(of) the Hereafter
أَكۡبَرُۚ
ʹakbar.
(is) greater
لَوۡ
Law
if
كَانُواْ
kaanoo
they
يَعۡلَمُونَ
yaʻlamoon!
knew
٢٦
39:27
وَلَقَدۡ
Wa-laq̣ad
And indeed
ضَرَبۡنَا
ḍarabnaa
We have set forth
لِلنَّاسِ
linnaasi
for people
فِي
fee
in
هَٰذَا
haaẓal
this
ٱلۡقُرۡءَانِ
Q̣ur-ʹaani
Quran
مِن
miñ
of
كُلِّ
kulli
every
مَثَلٖ
Mas̤alil
example
لَّعَلَّهُمۡ
laʻallahum
so that they may
يَتَذَكَّرُونَ
yataẓakkaroon.
take heed
٢٧
39:28
قُرۡءَانًا
Q̣ur-ʹaanan
A Quran
عَرَبِيًّا
ʻArabiyyan
(in) Arabic
غَيۡرَ
g̣ayra
without
ذِي
ẓee
any
عِوَجٖ
ʻiwajil
crookedness
لَّعَلَّهُمۡ
laʻallahum
so that they may
يَتَّقُونَ
yattaq̣oon.
(become) righteous
٢٨
39:29
ضَرَبَ
Ḍarabal
Allah sets forth
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah sets forth
مَثَلٗا
Mas̤alar
an example
رَّجُلٗا
rajulañ
a man
فِيهِ
feehi
about him
شُرَكَآءُ
shurakaaaʹu
partners
مُتَشَٰكِسُونَ
mutashaakisoona
quarreling
وَرَجُلٗا
wa-rajulañ
and a man
سَلَمٗا
salamal
(belonging) exclusively
لِّرَجُلٍ
lirajul:
to one man
هَلۡ
Hal
are
يَسۡتَوِيَانِ
yastawiyaani
they both equal
مَثَلًاۚ
mas̤alaa?
(in) comparison
ٱلۡحَمۡدُ
ʹAl-Ḥamdu
All praise
لِلَّهِۚ
lillaah!
(be) to Allah
بَلۡ
Bal
Nay
أَكۡثَرُهُمۡ
ʹaks̤aruhum
most of them
لَا
laa-
(do) not
يَعۡلَمُونَ
yaʻlamoon.
know
٢٩
39:30
إِنَّكَ
ʹInnaka
Indeed you
مَيِّتٞ
mayyituñw
will die
وَإِنَّهُم
waʹinnahum
and indeed they
مَّيِّتُونَ
mayyitoon.
(will also) die
٣٠
39:31
ثُمَّ
S̤umma
Then
إِنَّكُمۡ
ʹinnakum
indeed you
يَوۡمَ
Yawmal
(on the) Day
ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِ
Q̣iyaamati
(of) the Resurrection
عِندَ
ʻiñda
before
رَبِّكُمۡ
Rabbikum
your Lord
تَخۡتَصِمُونَ
takhtaṣimoon.
will dispute

39:32
۞فَمَنۡ
Faman
Then who
أَظۡلَمُ
ʹaz̤̣lamu
(is) more unjust
مِمَّن
mimmañ
than (one) who
كَذَبَ
kaẓaba
lies
عَلَى
ʻalal
against
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
Allah
وَكَذَّبَ
wa-kaẓẓaba
and denies
بِٱلصِّدۡقِ
biṣ-Ṣidq̣i
the truth
إِذۡ
ʹiẓ
when
جَآءَهُۥٓۚ
jaaaʹah?
it comes to him
أَلَيۡسَ
ʹAlaysa
Is (there) not
فِي
fee
in
جَهَنَّمَ
Jahannama
Hell
مَثۡوٗى
mas̤wal
an abode
لِّلۡكَٰفِرِينَ
lilkaafireen?
for the disbelievers
٣٢
39:33
وَٱلَّذِي
Wallaẓee
And the one who
جَآءَ
jaaaʹa
brought
بِٱلصِّدۡقِ
biṣ-Ṣidq̣i
the truth
وَصَدَّقَ
wa-ṣaddaq̣a
and believed
بِهِۦٓ
biheee
in it
أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ
ʹulaaaʹika
those
هُمُ
humul
[they]
ٱلۡمُتَّقُونَ
Muttaq̣oon.
(are) the righteous
٣٣
39:34
لَهُم
Lahum
For them
مَّا
maa
(is) what
يَشَآءُونَ
yashaaaʹoona
they wish
عِندَ
ʻiñda
with
رَبِّهِمۡۚ
Rabbihim:
their Lord
ذَٰلِكَ
ẓaalika
That
جَزَآءُ
jazaaaʹul
(is the) reward
ٱلۡمُحۡسِنِينَ
Muḥsineen,
(of) the good-doers
٣٤
39:35
لِيُكَفِّرَ
Liyukaffiral
That Allah will remove
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
That Allah will remove
عَنۡهُمۡ
ʻanhum
from them
أَسۡوَأَ
ʹaswa
(the) worst
ٱلَّذِي
ʹallaẓee
(of) what
عَمِلُواْ
ʻamiloo
they did
وَيَجۡزِيَهُمۡ
wa-yajziyahum
and reward them
أَجۡرَهُم
ʹajrahum̃
their due
بِأَحۡسَنِ
biʹaḥsanil
for (the) best
ٱلَّذِي
laẓee
(of) what
كَانُواْ
kaanoo
they used to
يَعۡمَلُونَ
yaʻmaloon.
do
٣٥
39:36
أَلَيۡسَ
ʹAlaysal
Is not
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah
بِكَافٍ
bi-Kaafin
sufficient
عَبۡدَهُۥۖ
ʻabdah?
(for) His slave
وَيُخَوِّفُونَكَ
Wa-yukhawwi-foonaka
And they threaten you
بِٱلَّذِينَ
billaẓeena
with those
مِن
miñ
besides Him
دُونِهِۦۚ
doonih!
besides Him
وَمَن
Wa-mañy
And whoever
يُضۡلِلِ
yuḍlilil
Allah lets go astray
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah lets go astray
فَمَا
famaa
then not
لَهُۥ
lahoo
for him
مِنۡ
min
any
هَادٖ
haad.
guide
٣٦
39:37
وَمَن
Wa-mañy
And whoever
يَهۡدِ
yahdil
Allah guides
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah guides
فَمَا
famaa
then not
لَهُۥ
lahoo
for him
مِن
mim
any
مُّضِلٍّۗ
muḍill.
misleader
أَلَيۡسَ
ʹAlaysal
Is not
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah
بِعَزِيزٖ
biʻAzeeziñ
All-Mighty
ذِي
Ẓiñ
All-Able of retribution
ٱنتِقَامٖ
tiq̣aam?
All-Able of retribution
٣٧
39:38
وَلَئِن
Wa-laʹiñ
And if
سَأَلۡتَهُم
saʹaltahum
you ask them
مَّنۡ
man
who
خَلَقَ
khalaq̣as
created
ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ
samaawaati
the heavens
وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ
wal-ʹarḍa
and the earth
لَيَقُولُنَّ
layaq̣oolunnal
Surely they will say
ٱللَّهُۚ
laah.
Allah
قُلۡ
Q̣ul
Say
أَفَرَءَيۡتُم
ʹafaraʹaytum
Then do you see
مَّا
maa
what
تَدۡعُونَ
tadʻoona
you invoke
مِن
miñ
besides
دُونِ
doonil
besides
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
Allah
إِنۡ
ʹin
if
أَرَادَنِيَ
ʹaraadaniyal
Allah intended for me
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah intended for me
بِضُرٍّ
biḍurrin
harm
هَلۡ
hal
are
هُنَّ
hunna
they
كَٰشِفَٰتُ
kaashifaatu
removers
ضُرِّهِۦٓ
ḍurriheee
(of) harm (from) Him
أَوۡ
ʹaw
or
أَرَادَنِي
ʹaraadanee
if He intended for me
بِرَحۡمَةٍ
bi-Raḥmatin
mercy
هَلۡ
hal
are
هُنَّ
hunna
they
مُمۡسِكَٰتُ
mumsikaatu
withholders
رَحۡمَتِهِۦۚ
Raḥmatih?
(of) His mercy
قُلۡ
Q̣ul
Say
حَسۡبِيَ
ḥasbiyal
Sufficient (is) Allah for me
ٱللَّهُۖ
laah!
Sufficient (is) Allah for me
عَلَيۡهِ
ʻAlayhi
upon Him
يَتَوَكَّلُ
yatawakkalul
put trust
ٱلۡمُتَوَكِّلُونَ
Mutawakkiloon.
those who trust
٣٨
39:39
قُلۡ
Q̣ul
Say
يَٰقَوۡمِ
yaa
O my people
ٱعۡمَلُواْ
q̣awmiʻmaloo
Work
عَلَىٰ
ʻalaa
(according) to
مَكَانَتِكُمۡ
makaanatikum
your position
إِنِّي
ʹinnee
indeed I am
عَٰمِلٞۖ
ʻaamil:
working
فَسَوۡفَ
fasawfa
then soon
تَعۡلَمُونَ
taʻlamoon.
you will know

39:40
مَن
Mañy
(Upon) whom
يَأۡتِيهِ
yaʹteehi
will come
عَذَابٞ
ʻaẓaabuñy
a punishment
يُخۡزِيهِ
yukhzeehi
disgracing him
وَيَحِلُّ
wa-yaḥillu
and descends
عَلَيۡهِ
ʻalayhi
on him
عَذَابٞ
ʻaẓaabum
a punishment
مُّقِيمٌ
muq̣eem.
everlasting

إِنَّآ
ʹInnaaa
Indeed We
أَنزَلۡنَا
ʹañzalnaa
We revealed
عَلَيۡكَ
ʻalaykal
to you
ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ
Kitaaba
the Book
لِلنَّاسِ
linnaasi
for [the] mankind
بِٱلۡحَقِّۖ
bil-Ḥaq̣q̣.
in truth
فَمَنِ
famanih
So whoever
ٱهۡتَدَىٰ
tadaa
accepts guidance
فَلِنَفۡسِهِۦۖ
falinafsih:
then (it is) for his soul
وَمَن
wa-mañ
and whoever
ضَلَّ
ḍalla
goes astray
فَإِنَّمَا
faʹinnamaa
then only
يَضِلُّ
yaḍillu
he strays
عَلَيۡهَاۖ
ʻalayhaa.
against his (soul)
وَمَآ
Wa-maaa
And not
أَنتَ
ʹañta
you
عَلَيۡهِم
ʻalayhim̃
(are) over them
بِوَكِيلٍ
biwakeel.
a manager
٤١
39:42
ٱللَّهُ
ʹAllaahu
Allah
يَتَوَفَّى
yatawaffal
takes
ٱلۡأَنفُسَ
ʹañfusa
the souls
حِينَ
ḥeena
(at the) time
مَوۡتِهَا
mawtihaa
(of) their death
وَٱلَّتِي
wallatee
and the one who
لَمۡ
lam
(does) not
تَمُتۡ
tamut
die
فِي
fee
in
مَنَامِهَاۖ
manaamihaa:
their sleep
فَيُمۡسِكُ
fayumsikul
Then He keeps
ٱلَّتِي
latee
the one whom
قَضَىٰ
q̣aḍaa
He has decreed
عَلَيۡهَا
ʻalayhal
for them
ٱلۡمَوۡتَ
mawta
the death
وَيُرۡسِلُ
wa-yursilul
and sends
ٱلۡأُخۡرَىٰٓ
ʹukhraaa
the others
إِلَىٰٓ
ʹilaaa
for
أَجَلٖ
ʹajalim
a term
مُّسَمًّىۚ
musammaa.
specified
إِنَّ
ʹInna
Indeed
فِي
fee
in
ذَٰلِكَ
ẓaalika
that
لَأٓيَٰتٖ
laʹAayaatil
surely (are) signs
لِّقَوۡمٖ
liq̣awmiñy
for a people
يَتَفَكَّرُونَ
yatafakkaroon.
who ponder
٤٢
39:43
أَمِ
ʹAmit
Or
ٱتَّخَذُواْ
takhaẓoo
have they taken
مِن
miñ
besides
دُونِ
doonil
besides
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
Allah
شُفَعَآءَۚ
shufaʻaaaʹ?
intercessors
قُلۡ
Q̣ul
Say
أَوَلَوۡ
ʹawalaw
Even though
كَانُواْ
kaanoo
they were
لَا
laa-
not
يَمۡلِكُونَ
yamlikoona
possessing
شَيۡـٔٗا
shayʹañw
anything
وَلَا
walaa
and not
يَعۡقِلُونَ
yaʻq̣iloon?
they understand
٤٣
39:44
قُل
Q̣ul
Say
لِّلَّهِ
lillaahish
To Allah (belongs)
ٱلشَّفَٰعَةُ
Shafaaʻatu
the intercession
جَمِيعٗاۖ
jameeʻaa:
all
لَّهُۥ
lahoo
For Him
مُلۡكُ
mulkus
(is the) dominion
ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ
samaawaati
(of) the heavens
وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۖ
wal-ʹarḍ:
and the earth
ثُمَّ
s̤umma
Then
إِلَيۡهِ
ʹilayhi
to Him
تُرۡجَعُونَ
turjaʻoon.
you will be returned
٤٤
39:45
وَإِذَا
Wa-ʹiẓaa
And when
ذُكِرَ
ẓukiral
Allah is mentioned
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah is mentioned
وَحۡدَهُ
Waḥdahush
Alone
ٱشۡمَأَزَّتۡ
maʹazzat
shrink with aversion
قُلُوبُ
q̣uloobul
(the) hearts
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
(of) those who
لَا
laa-
(do) not
يُؤۡمِنُونَ
yuʹminoona
believe
بِٱلۡأٓخِرَةِۖ
bil-ʹAakhirah;
in the Hereafter
وَإِذَا
wa-ʹiẓaa
and when
ذُكِرَ
ẓukiral
are mentioned
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those
مِن
miñ
besides Him
دُونِهِۦٓ
dooniheee
besides Him
إِذَا
ʹiẓaa
behold
هُمۡ
hum
They
يَسۡتَبۡشِرُونَ
yastabshiroon!
rejoice
٤٥
39:46
قُلِ
Q̣ulil
Say
ٱللَّهُمَّ
laahumma
O Allah
فَاطِرَ
Faaṭiras
Creator
ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ
samaawaati
(of) the heavens
وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ
wal-ʹarḍi
and the earth
عَٰلِمَ
ʻAalimal
Knower
ٱلۡغَيۡبِ
g̣aybi
(of) the unseen
وَٱلشَّهَٰدَةِ
washshahaadati
and the witnessed
أَنتَ
ʹAñta
You
تَحۡكُمُ
taḥkumu
will judge
بَيۡنَ
bayna
between
عِبَادِكَ
ʻibaadika
Your slaves
فِي
Fee
in
مَا
maa-
what
كَانُواْ
kaanoo
they used to
فِيهِ
feehi
therein
يَخۡتَلِفُونَ
yakhtalifoon.
differ
٤٦
39:47
وَلَوۡ
Wa-law
And if
أَنَّ
ʹanna
And if
لِلَّذِينَ
lillaẓeena
those who
ظَلَمُواْ
z̤̣alamoo
did wrong
مَا
maa-
(had) whatever
فِي
fil
(is) in
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ
ʹarḍi
the earth
جَمِيعٗا
jameeʻañw
all
وَمِثۡلَهُۥ
wamis̤lahoo
and (the) like of it
مَعَهُۥ
maʻahoo
with it
لَٱفۡتَدَوۡاْ
laftadaw
they would ransom
بِهِۦ
bihee
with it
مِن
miñ
from
سُوٓءِ
soooʹil
(the) evil
ٱلۡعَذَابِ
ʻaẓaabi
(of) the punishment
يَوۡمَ
Yawmal
(on the) Day
ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِۚ
Q̣iyaamah:
(of) the Resurrection
وَبَدَا
wa-badaa
And (will) appear
لَهُم
lahum
to them
مِّنَ
minal
from
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
Allah
مَا
maa-
what
لَمۡ
lam
not
يَكُونُواْ
yakoonoo
they had
يَحۡتَسِبُونَ
yaḥtasiboon!
taken into account
٤٧

وَبَدَا
Wa-badaa
And will become apparent
لَهُمۡ
lahum
to them
سَيِّـَٔاتُ
sayyiʹaatu
(the) evils
مَا
maa-
(of) what
كَسَبُواْ
kasaboo
they earned
وَحَاقَ
waḥaaq̣a
and will surround
بِهِم
bihim
them
مَّا
maa
what
كَانُواْ
kaanoo
they used to
بِهِۦ
bihee
[in it]
يَسۡتَهۡزِءُونَ
yastahziʹoon!
mock
٤٨
39:49
فَإِذَا
Faʹiẓaa
So when
مَسَّ
massal
touches
ٱلۡإِنسَٰنَ
ʹiñsaana
[the] man
ضُرّٞ
ḍurruñ
adversity
دَعَانَا
daʻaanaa:
he calls upon Us
ثُمَّ
s̤umma
then
إِذَا
ʹiẓaa
when
خَوَّلۡنَٰهُ
khawwalnaahu
We bestow (on) him
نِعۡمَةٗ
niʻmatam
a favor
مِّنَّا
minnaa
from Us
قَالَ
q̣aala
he says
إِنَّمَآ
ʹinnamaaa
Only
أُوتِيتُهُۥ
ʹooteetuhoo
I have been given it
عَلَىٰ
ʻalaa
for
عِلۡمِۭۚ
ʻilm!
knowledge
بَلۡ
Bal
Nay
هِيَ
hiya
it
فِتۡنَةٞ
fitnatuñw
(is) a trial
وَلَٰكِنَّ
walaakinna
but
أَكۡثَرَهُمۡ
ʹaks̤arahum
most of them
لَا
laa-
(do) not
يَعۡلَمُونَ
yaʻlamoon!
know
٤٩
39:50
قَدۡ
Q̣ad
Indeed
قَالَهَا
q̣aalahal
said it
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those
مِن
miñ
before them
قَبۡلِهِمۡ
q̣ablihim
before them
فَمَآ
famaaa
but (did) not
أَغۡنَىٰ
ʹag̣naa
avail
عَنۡهُم
ʻanhum
them
مَّا
maa
what
كَانُواْ
kaanoo
they used to
يَكۡسِبُونَ
yaksiboon.
earn
٥٠
