39:1تَنزِيلُtanzilu(The) revelationٱلۡكِتَٰبِal-kitabi(of) the Bookمِنَmina(is) fromٱللَّهِal-lahiAllahٱلۡعَزِيزِal-'azizithe All-Mightyٱلۡحَكِيمِal-hakimithe All-Wise١
39:2إِنَّآinnaIndeed Weأَنزَلۡنَآanzalna[We] have revealedإِلَيۡكَilaykato youٱلۡكِتَٰبَal-kitabathe Bookبِٱلۡحَقِّbil-haqiin truthفَٱعۡبُدِfa-u'budiso worshipٱللَّهَal-lahaAllahمُخۡلِصٗاmukh'lisan(being) sincereلَّهُlahuto Himٱلدِّينَal-dina(in) the religion٢
39:3أَلَاalaUnquestionablyلِلَّهِlillahifor Allahٱلدِّينُal-dinu(is) the religionٱلۡخَالِصُۚal-khalisuthe pureوَٱلَّذِينَwa-alladhinaAnd those whoٱتَّخَذُواْittakhadhutakeمِنminbesides Himدُونِهِۦٓdunihibesides HimأَوۡلِيَآءَawliyaaprotectorsمَاmaNotنَعۡبُدُهُمۡna'buduhumwe worship themإِلَّاillaexceptلِيُقَرِّبُونَآliyuqarribunathat they may bring us nearإِلَىilatoٱللَّهِal-lahiAllahزُلۡفَىٰٓzul'fa(in) nearnessإِنَّinnaIndeedٱللَّهَal-lahaAllahيَحۡكُمُyahkumuwill judgeبَيۡنَهُمۡbaynahumbetween themفِيfiinمَاmawhatهُمۡhumtheyفِيهِfihi[in it]يَخۡتَلِفُونَۗyakhtalifunadifferإِنَّinnaIndeedٱللَّهَal-lahaAllahلَاla(does) notيَهۡدِيyahdiguideمَنۡman(one) whoهُوَhuwa[he]كَٰذِبٞkadhibun(is) a liarكَفَّارٞkaffarunand a disbeliever٣
39:4لَّوۡlawIfأَرَادَaradaAllah (had) intendedٱللَّهُal-lahuAllah (had) intendedأَنantoيَتَّخِذَyattakhidhatakeوَلَدٗاwaladana sonلَّٱصۡطَفَىٰla-is'tafasurely He (could) have chosenمِمَّاmimmafrom whatيَخۡلُقُyakhluquHe createsمَاmawhateverيَشَآءُۚyashauHe willedسُبۡحَٰنَهُۥۖsub'hanahuGlory be to HimهُوَhuwaHeٱللَّهُal-lahu(is) Allahٱلۡوَٰحِدُal-wahiduthe Oneٱلۡقَهَّارُal-qaharuthe Irresistible٤
39:5خَلَقَkhalaqaHe createdٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِal-samawatithe heavensوَٱلۡأَرۡضَwal-ardaand the earthبِٱلۡحَقِّۖbil-haqiin [the] truthيُكَوِّرُyukawwiruHe wrapsٱلَّيۡلَal-laylathe nightعَلَىalaoverٱلنَّهَارِal-naharithe dayوَيُكَوِّرُwayukawwiruand wrapsٱلنَّهَارَal-naharathe dayعَلَىalaoverٱلَّيۡلِۖal-laylithe nightوَسَخَّرَwasakharaAnd He subjectedٱلشَّمۡسَal-shamsathe sunوَٱلۡقَمَرَۖwal-qamaraand the moonكُلّٞkulluneachيَجۡرِيyajrirunningلِأَجَلٖli-ajalinfor a termمُّسَمًّىۗmusammanspecifiedأَلَاalaUnquestionablyهُوَhuwaHeٱلۡعَزِيزُal-'azizu(is) the All-Mightyٱلۡغَفَّٰرُal-ghafaruthe Oft-Forgiving٥
39:6خَلَقَكُمkhalaqakumHe created youمِّنminfromنَّفۡسٖnafsina soulوَٰحِدَةٖwahidatinsingleثُمَّthummaThenجَعَلَja'alaHe madeمِنۡهَاmin'hafrom itزَوۡجَهَاzawjahaits mateوَأَنزَلَwa-anzalaAnd He sent downلَكُمlakumfor youمِّنَminaofٱلۡأَنۡعَٰمِal-an'amithe cattleثَمَٰنِيَةَthamaniyataeightأَزۡوَٰجٖۚazwajinkindsيَخۡلُقُكُمۡyakhluqukumHe creates youفِيfiinبُطُونِbutuni(the) wombsأُمَّهَٰتِكُمۡummahatikum(of) your mothersخَلۡقٗاkhalqancreationمِّنۢminafterبَعۡدِba'diafterخَلۡقٖkhalqincreationفِيfiinظُلُمَٰتٖzulumatindarkness[es]ثَلَٰثٖۚthalathinthreeذَٰلِكُمُdhalikumuThatٱللَّهُal-lahu(is) Allahرَبُّكُمۡrabbukumyour Lordلَهُlahufor Himٱلۡمُلۡكُۖal-mul'ku(is) the dominionلَآla(There is) noإِلَٰهَilahagodإِلَّاillaexceptهُوَۖhuwaHeفَأَنَّىٰfa-annaThen howتُصۡرَفُونَtus'rafunaare you turning away٦
39:7إِنinIfتَكۡفُرُواْtakfuruyou disbelieveفَإِنَّfa-innathen indeedٱللَّهَal-lahaAllahغَنِيٌّghaniyyun(is) free from needعَنكُمۡۖankumof youوَلَاwalaAnd notيَرۡضَىٰyardaHe likesلِعِبَادِهِli'ibadihiin His slavesٱلۡكُفۡرَۖal-kuf'raungratefulnessوَإِنwa-inAnd ifتَشۡكُرُواْtashkuruyou are gratefulيَرۡضَهُyardahuHe likes itلَكُمۡۗlakumin youوَلَاwalaAnd notتَزِرُtaziruwill bearوَازِرَةٞwaziratunbearer of burdensوِزۡرَwiz'ra(the) burdenأُخۡرَىٰۚukh'ra(of) anotherثُمَّthummaThenإِلَىٰilatoرَبِّكُمrabbikumyour Lordمَّرۡجِعُكُمۡmarji'ukum(is) your returnفَيُنَبِّئُكُمfayunabbi-ukumthen He will inform youبِمَاbimaabout whatكُنتُمۡkuntumyou used toتَعۡمَلُونَۚta'malunadoإِنَّهُۥinnahuIndeed Heعَلِيمُۢalimun(is) the All-Knowerبِذَاتِbidhatiof what (is) in the breastsٱلصُّدُورِal-suduriof what (is) in the breasts٧
39:8۞وَإِذَاwa-idhaAnd whenمَسَّmassatouchesٱلۡإِنسَٰنَal-insana[the] manضُرّٞdurrunadversityدَعَاda'ahe callsرَبَّهُۥrabbahuhis Lordمُنِيبًاmunibanturningإِلَيۡهِilayhito HimثُمَّthummathenإِذَاidhawhenخَوَّلَهُۥkhawwalahuHe bestows on himنِعۡمَةٗni'matana favorمِّنۡهُmin'hufrom Himselfنَسِيَnasiyahe forgetsمَاma(for) whatكَانَkanahe used to callيَدۡعُوٓاْyad'uhe used to callإِلَيۡهِilayhi[to] Himمِنminbeforeقَبۡلُqablubeforeوَجَعَلَwaja'alaand he sets upلِلَّهِlillahito Allahأَندَادٗاandadanrivalsلِّيُضِلَّliyudillato misleadعَنanfromسَبِيلِهِۦۚsabilihiHis PathقُلۡqulSayتَمَتَّعۡtamatta'Enjoyبِكُفۡرِكَbikuf'rikain your disbeliefقَلِيلًاqalilan(for) a littleإِنَّكَinnakaIndeed youمِنۡmin(are) ofأَصۡحَٰبِashabi(the) companionsٱلنَّارِal-nari(of) the Fire٨
39:9أَمَّنۡammanIs (one) whoهُوَhuwa[he]قَٰنِتٌqanitun(is) devoutly obedient ءَانَآءَanaa(during) hoursٱلَّيۡلِal-layli(of) the nightسَاجِدٗاsajidanprostratingوَقَآئِمٗاwaqaimanand standingيَحۡذَرُyahdharufearingٱلۡأٓخِرَةَal-akhiratathe Hereafterوَيَرۡجُواْwayarjuand hopingرَحۡمَةَrahmata(for the) Mercyرَبِّهِۦۗrabbihi(of) his LordقُلۡqulSayهَلۡhalAreيَسۡتَوِيyastawiequalٱلَّذِينَalladhinathose whoيَعۡلَمُونَya'lamunaknowوَٱلَّذِينَwa-alladhinaand those whoلَاla(do) notيَعۡلَمُونَۗya'lamunaknowإِنَّمَاinnamaOnlyيَتَذَكَّرُyatadhakkaruwill take heedأُوْلُواْuluthose of understandingٱلۡأَلۡبَٰبِal-albabithose of understanding٩
39:10قُلۡqulSayيَٰعِبَادِya'ibadiO My slavesٱلَّذِينَalladhina[those] whoءَامَنُواْamanubelieveٱتَّقُواْittaquFearرَبَّكُمۡۚrabbakumyour LordلِلَّذِينَlilladhinaFor those whoأَحۡسَنُواْahsanudo goodفِيfiinهَٰذِهِhadhihithisٱلدُّنۡيَاal-dun'yaworldحَسَنَةٞۗhasanatun(is) goodوَأَرۡضُwa-arduand the earthٱللَّهِal-lahi(of) Allahوَٰسِعَةٌۗwasi'atun(is) spaciousإِنَّمَاinnamaOnlyيُوَفَّىyuwaffawill be paid back in fullٱلصَّٰبِرُونَal-sabirunathe patient onesأَجۡرَهُمajrahumtheir rewardبِغَيۡرِbighayriwithoutحِسَابٖhisabinaccount١٠
39:11قُلۡqulSayإِنِّيٓinniIndeed Iأُمِرۡتُumir'tu[I] am commandedأَنۡanthatأَعۡبُدَa'budaI worshipٱللَّهَal-lahaAllahمُخۡلِصٗاmukh'lisan(being) sincereلَّهُlahuto Himٱلدِّينَal-dina(in) the religion١١
39:12وَأُمِرۡتُwa-umir'tuAnd I am commandedلِأَنۡli-anthatأَكُونَakunaI beأَوَّلَawwala(the) firstٱلۡمُسۡلِمِينَal-mus'limina(of) those who submit١٢
39:13قُلۡqulSayإِنِّيٓinniIndeed Iأَخَافُakhafu[I] fearإِنۡinifعَصَيۡتُasaytuI disobeyرَبِّيrabbimy Lordعَذَابَadhaba(the) punishmentيَوۡمٍyawmin(of) a Dayعَظِيمٖazimingreat١٣
39:14قُلِquliSayٱللَّهَal-lahaI worship Allahأَعۡبُدُa'buduI worship Allahمُخۡلِصٗاmukh'lisan(being) sincereلَّهُۥlahuto Himدِينِيdini(in) my religion١٤
39:15فَٱعۡبُدُواْfa-u'buduSo worshipمَاmawhatشِئۡتُمshi'tumyou willمِّنminbesides Himدُونِهِۦۗdunihibesides HimقُلۡqulSayإِنَّinnaIndeedٱلۡخَٰسِرِينَal-khasirinathe losersٱلَّذِينَalladhina(are) those whoخَسِرُوٓاْkhasiru(will) loseأَنفُسَهُمۡanfusahumthemselvesوَأَهۡلِيهِمۡwa-ahlihimand their familiesيَوۡمَyawma(on the) Dayٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِۗal-qiyamati(of) the ResurrectionأَلَاalaUnquestionablyذَٰلِكَdhalikathat هُوَhuwaitٱلۡخُسۡرَانُal-khus'ranu(is) the lossٱلۡمُبِينُal-mubinuthe clear١٥
39:16لَهُمlahumFor themمِّنminfromفَوۡقِهِمۡfawqihimabove themظُلَلٞzulaluncoveringsمِّنَminaofٱلنَّارِal-narithe Fireوَمِنwaminand fromتَحۡتِهِمۡtahtihimbelow themظُلَلٞۚzulaluncoveringsذَٰلِكَdhalika(With) thatيُخَوِّفُyukhawwifuthreatensٱللَّهُal-lahuAllahبِهِۦbihi[with it]عِبَادَهُۥۚibadahuHis slavesيَٰعِبَادِya'ibadiO My slavesفَٱتَّقُونِfa-ittaquniSo fear Me١٦
39:17وَٱلَّذِينَwa-alladhinaAnd those whoٱجۡتَنَبُواْij'tanabuavoidٱلطَّٰغُوتَal-taghutathe false godsأَنanlestيَعۡبُدُوهَاya'buduhathey worship themوَأَنَابُوٓاْwa-anabuand turnإِلَىilatoٱللَّهِal-lahiAllahلَهُمُlahumufor themٱلۡبُشۡرَىٰۚal-bush'ra(are) glad tidingsفَبَشِّرۡfabashirSo give glad tidingsعِبَادِibadi(to) My slaves١٧
39:18ٱلَّذِينَalladhinaThose whoيَسۡتَمِعُونَyastami'unathey listen (to)ٱلۡقَوۡلَal-qawlathe Wordفَيَتَّبِعُونَfayattabi'unathen followأَحۡسَنَهُۥٓۚahsanahuthe best thereofأُوْلَٰٓئِكَulaikathoseٱلَّذِينَalladhina(are) they whomهَدَىٰهُمُhadahumuAllah has guided themٱللَّهُۖal-lahuAllah has guided themوَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَwa-ulaikaand thoseهُمۡhumare [they]أُوْلُواْuluthe men of understandingٱلۡأَلۡبَٰبِal-albabithe men of understanding١٨
39:19أَفَمَنۡafamanThen is (one) whoحَقَّhaqqabecame dueعَلَيۡهِalayhion himكَلِمَةُkalimatuthe wordٱلۡعَذَابِal-'adhabi(of) the punishmentأَفَأَنتَafa-antaThen can youتُنقِذُtunqidhusaveمَنman(one) whoفِيfi(is) inٱلنَّارِal-narithe Fire١٩
39:20لَٰكِنِlakiniButٱلَّذِينَalladhinathose whoٱتَّقَوۡاْittaqawfearرَبَّهُمۡrabbahumtheir Lordلَهُمۡlahumfor themغُرَفٞghurafun(are) lofty mansionsمِّنminabove themفَوۡقِهَاfawqihaabove themغُرَفٞghurafunlofty mansionsمَّبۡنِيَّةٞmabniyyatunbuilt highتَجۡرِيtajriflowمِنminfromتَحۡتِهَاtahtihabeneath itٱلۡأَنۡهَٰرُۖal-anharuthe riversوَعۡدَwa'da(The) Promiseٱللَّهِal-lahi(of) AllahلَاlaNotيُخۡلِفُyukh'lifuAllah failsٱللَّهُal-lahuAllah failsٱلۡمِيعَادَal-mi'ada(in His) promise٢٠
39:21أَلَمۡalamDo notتَرَtarayou seeأَنَّannathatٱللَّهَal-lahaAllahأَنزَلَanzalasends downمِنَminafromٱلسَّمَآءِal-samaithe skyمَآءٗmaanwaterفَسَلَكَهُۥfasalakahuand He makes it flowيَنَٰبِيعَyanabi'a(as) springsفِيfiinٱلۡأَرۡضِal-ardithe earthثُمَّthummathenيُخۡرِجُyukh'rijuHe producesبِهِۦbihiwith itزَرۡعٗاzar'ancropsمُّخۡتَلِفًاmukh'talifan(of) differentأَلۡوَٰنُهُۥalwanuhucolorsثُمَّthummathenيَهِيجُyahijuthey witherفَتَرَىٰهُfatarahuand you see itمُصۡفَرّٗاmus'farranturn yellowثُمَّthummathenيَجۡعَلُهُۥyaj'aluhuHe makes themحُطَٰمًاۚhutamandebrisإِنَّinnaIndeedفِيfiinذَٰلِكَdhalikathatلَذِكۡرَىٰladhik'rasurely (is) a reminderلِأُوْلِيli-ulifor those of understandingٱلۡأَلۡبَٰبِal-albabifor those of understanding٢١
39:22أَفَمَنafamanSo is (one for) whomشَرَحَsharahaAllah has expandedٱللَّهُal-lahuAllah has expandedصَدۡرَهُۥsadrahuhis breastلِلۡإِسۡلَٰمِlil'is'lamifor Islamفَهُوَfahuwaso heعَلَىٰala(is) uponنُورٖnurina lightمِّنminfromرَّبِّهِۦۚrabbihihis LordفَوَيۡلٞfawaylunSo woeلِّلۡقَٰسِيَةِlil'qasiyatito (those are) hardenedقُلُوبُهُمqulubuhumtheir heartsمِّنminfromذِكۡرِdhik'ri(the) remembrance of Allahٱللَّهِۚal-lahi(the) remembrance of AllahأُوْلَٰٓئِكَulaikaThoseفِيfi(are) inضَلَٰلٖdalalinerrorمُّبِينٍmubininclear٢٢
39:23ٱللَّهُal-lahuAllahنَزَّلَnazzalahas revealedأَحۡسَنَahsana(the) bestٱلۡحَدِيثِal-hadithi(of) [the] statement كِتَٰبٗاkitabana Bookمُّتَشَٰبِهٗاmutashabihan(its parts) resembling each otherمَّثَانِيَmathaniyaoft-repeatedتَقۡشَعِرُّtaqsha'irruShiverمِنۡهُmin'hufrom itجُلُودُjuludu(the) skinsٱلَّذِينَalladhina(of) those whoيَخۡشَوۡنَyakhshawnafearرَبَّهُمۡrabbahumtheir Lordثُمَّthummathenتَلِينُtalinurelaxجُلُودُهُمۡjuluduhumtheir skinsوَقُلُوبُهُمۡwaqulubuhumand their heartsإِلَىٰilaatذِكۡرِdhik'ri(the) remembranceٱللَّهِۚal-lahi(of) AllahذَٰلِكَdhalikaThatهُدَىhuda(is the) guidanceٱللَّهِal-lahi(of) AllahيَهۡدِيyahdiHe guidesبِهِۦbihiwith itمَنmanwhomيَشَآءُۚyashauHe willsوَمَنwamanAnd whoeverيُضۡلِلِyud'liliAllah lets go astrayٱللَّهُal-lahuAllah lets go astrayفَمَاfamathen notلَهُۥlahufor himمِنۡminanyهَادٍhadinguide٢٣
39:24أَفَمَنafamanThen (is) he whoيَتَّقِيyattaqiwill shieldبِوَجۡهِهِۦbiwajhihiwith his faceسُوٓءَsua(the) worstٱلۡعَذَابِal-'adhabipunishmentيَوۡمَyawma(on the) Dayٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِۚal-qiyamati(of) the ResurrectionوَقِيلَwaqilaAnd it will be saidلِلظَّٰلِمِينَlilzzaliminato the wrongdoersذُوقُواْdhuquTasteمَاmawhatكُنتُمۡkuntumyou used toتَكۡسِبُونَtaksibunaearn٢٤
39:25كَذَّبَkadhabaDeniedٱلَّذِينَalladhinathose whoمِنmin(were) before themقَبۡلِهِمۡqablihim(were) before themفَأَتَىٰهُمُfa-atahumuso came upon themٱلۡعَذَابُal-'adhabuthe punishmentمِنۡminfromحَيۡثُhaythuwhereلَاlanotيَشۡعُرُونَyash'urunathey perceive٢٥
39:26فَأَذَاقَهُمُfa-adhaqahumuSo Allah made themٱللَّهُal-lahuSo Allah made themٱلۡخِزۡيَal-khiz'yathe disgraceفِيfiinٱلۡحَيَوٰةِal-hayatithe lifeٱلدُّنۡيَاۖal-dun'ya(of) the worldوَلَعَذَابُwala'adhabuand certainly (the) punishmentٱلۡأٓخِرَةِal-akhirati(of) the Hereafterأَكۡبَرُۚakbaru(is) greaterلَوۡlawifكَانُواْkanutheyيَعۡلَمُونَya'lamunaknew٢٦
39:27وَلَقَدۡwalaqadAnd indeedضَرَبۡنَاdarabnaWe have set forthلِلنَّاسِlilnnasifor peopleفِيfiinهَٰذَاhadhathisٱلۡقُرۡءَانِal-qur'aniQuranمِنminofكُلِّkullieveryمَثَلٖmathalinexampleلَّعَلَّهُمۡla'allahumso that they mayيَتَذَكَّرُونَyatadhakkarunatake heed٢٧
39:28قُرۡءَانًاqur'ananA Quranعَرَبِيًّاarabiyyan(in) Arabicغَيۡرَghayrawithoutذِيdhianyعِوَجٖiwajincrookednessلَّعَلَّهُمۡla'allahumso that they mayيَتَّقُونَyattaquna(become) righteous٢٨
39:29ضَرَبَdarabaAllah sets forthٱللَّهُal-lahuAllah sets forthمَثَلٗاmathalanan example رَّجُلٗاrajulana manفِيهِfihiabout himشُرَكَآءُshurakaupartnersمُتَشَٰكِسُونَmutashakisunaquarrelingوَرَجُلٗاwarajulanand a manسَلَمٗاsalaman(belonging) exclusivelyلِّرَجُلٍlirajulinto one man هَلۡhalareيَسۡتَوِيَانِyastawiyanithey both equalمَثَلًاۚmathalan(in) comparisonٱلۡحَمۡدُal-hamduAll praiseلِلَّهِۚlillahi(be) to AllahبَلۡbalNayأَكۡثَرُهُمۡaktharuhummost of themلَاla(do) notيَعۡلَمُونَya'lamunaknow٢٩
39:30إِنَّكَinnakaIndeed youمَيِّتٞmayyitunwill dieوَإِنَّهُمwa-innahumand indeed theyمَّيِّتُونَmayyituna(will also) die٣٠
39:31ثُمَّthummaThenإِنَّكُمۡinnakumindeed youيَوۡمَyawma(on the) Dayٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِal-qiyamati(of) the Resurrectionعِندَindabeforeرَبِّكُمۡrabbikumyour Lordتَخۡتَصِمُونَtakhtasimunawill dispute٣١
39:32۞فَمَنۡfamanThen whoأَظۡلَمُazlamu(is) more unjustمِمَّنmimmanthan (one) whoكَذَبَkadhabaliesعَلَىalaagainstٱللَّهِal-lahiAllahوَكَذَّبَwakadhabaand deniesبِٱلصِّدۡقِbil-sid'qithe truthإِذۡidhwhenجَآءَهُۥٓۚjaahuit comes to himأَلَيۡسَalaysaIs (there) notفِيfiinجَهَنَّمَjahannamaHellمَثۡوٗىmathwanan abodeلِّلۡكَٰفِرِينَlil'kafirinafor the disbelievers٣٢
39:33وَٱلَّذِيwa-alladhiAnd the one whoجَآءَjaabroughtبِٱلصِّدۡقِbil-sid'qithe truthوَصَدَّقَwasaddaqaand believedبِهِۦٓbihiin itأُوْلَٰٓئِكَulaikathoseهُمُhumu[they]ٱلۡمُتَّقُونَal-mutaquna(are) the righteous٣٣
39:34لَهُمlahumFor themمَّاma(is) whatيَشَآءُونَyashaunathey wishعِندَindawithرَبِّهِمۡۚrabbihimtheir LordذَٰلِكَdhalikaThatجَزَآءُjazau(is the) rewardٱلۡمُحۡسِنِينَal-muh'sinina(of) the good-doers٣٤
39:35لِيُكَفِّرَliyukaffiraThat Allah will removeٱللَّهُal-lahuThat Allah will removeعَنۡهُمۡanhumfrom themأَسۡوَأَaswa-a(the) worstٱلَّذِيalladhi(of) whatعَمِلُواْamiluthey didوَيَجۡزِيَهُمۡwayajziyahumand reward themأَجۡرَهُمajrahumtheir dueبِأَحۡسَنِbi-ahsanifor (the) bestٱلَّذِيalladhi(of) whatكَانُواْkanuthey used toيَعۡمَلُونَya'malunado٣٥
39:36أَلَيۡسَalaysaIs notٱللَّهُal-lahuAllahبِكَافٍbikafinsufficientعَبۡدَهُۥۖabdahu(for) His slaveوَيُخَوِّفُونَكَwayukhawwifunakaAnd they threaten youبِٱلَّذِينَbi-alladhinawith thoseمِنminbesides Himدُونِهِۦۚdunihibesides HimوَمَنwamanAnd whoeverيُضۡلِلِyud'liliAllah lets go astray ٱللَّهُal-lahuAllah lets go astray فَمَاfamathen notلَهُۥlahufor himمِنۡminanyهَادٖhadinguide٣٦
39:37وَمَنwamanAnd whoeverيَهۡدِyahdiAllah guidesٱللَّهُal-lahuAllah guidesفَمَاfamathen notلَهُۥlahufor himمِنminanyمُّضِلٍّۗmudillinmisleaderأَلَيۡسَalaysaIs notٱللَّهُal-lahuAllahبِعَزِيزٖbi'azizinAll-MightyذِيdhiAll-Able of retributionٱنتِقَامٖintiqaminAll-Able of retribution٣٧
39:38وَلَئِنwala-inAnd ifسَأَلۡتَهُمsa-altahumyou ask themمَّنۡmanwhoخَلَقَkhalaqacreatedٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِal-samawatithe heavensوَٱلۡأَرۡضَwal-ardaand the earthلَيَقُولُنَّlayaqulunnaSurely they will sayٱللَّهُۚal-lahuAllahقُلۡqulSayأَفَرَءَيۡتُمafara-aytumThen do you seeمَّاmawhatتَدۡعُونَtad'unayou invokeمِنminbesidesدُونِdunibesidesٱللَّهِal-lahiAllahإِنۡinifأَرَادَنِيَaradaniyaAllah intended for meٱللَّهُal-lahuAllah intended for meبِضُرٍّbidurrinharmهَلۡhalareهُنَّhunnatheyكَٰشِفَٰتُkashifaturemoversضُرِّهِۦٓdurrihi(of) harm (from) Himأَوۡaworأَرَادَنِيaradaniif He intended for meبِرَحۡمَةٍbirahmatinmercyهَلۡhalareهُنَّhunnatheyمُمۡسِكَٰتُmum'sikatuwithholdersرَحۡمَتِهِۦۚrahmatihi(of) His mercyقُلۡqulSayحَسۡبِيَhasbiyaSufficient (is) Allah for meٱللَّهُۖal-lahuSufficient (is) Allah for meعَلَيۡهِalayhiupon Himيَتَوَكَّلُyatawakkaluput trustٱلۡمُتَوَكِّلُونَal-mutawakilunathose who trust٣٨
39:39قُلۡqulSayيَٰقَوۡمِyaqawmiO my peopleٱعۡمَلُواْi'maluWorkعَلَىٰala(according) toمَكَانَتِكُمۡmakanatikumyour positionإِنِّيinniindeed I amعَٰمِلٞۖamilunworkingفَسَوۡفَfasawfathen soonتَعۡلَمُونَta'lamunayou will know٣٩
39:40مَنman(Upon) whomيَأۡتِيهِyatihiwill comeعَذَابٞadhabuna punishmentيُخۡزِيهِyukh'zihidisgracing himوَيَحِلُّwayahilluand descendsعَلَيۡهِalayhion himعَذَابٞadhabuna punishmentمُّقِيمٌmuqimuneverlasting٤٠
39:41إِنَّآinnaIndeed WeأَنزَلۡنَاanzalnaWe revealedعَلَيۡكَalaykato youٱلۡكِتَٰبَal-kitabathe Bookلِلنَّاسِlilnnasifor [the] mankindبِٱلۡحَقِّۖbil-haqiin truthفَمَنِfamaniSo whoeverٱهۡتَدَىٰih'tadaaccepts guidanceفَلِنَفۡسِهِۦۖfalinafsihithen (it is) for his soulوَمَنwamanand whoeverضَلَّdallagoes astrayفَإِنَّمَاfa-innamathen onlyيَضِلُّyadilluhe straysعَلَيۡهَاۖalayhaagainst his (soul)وَمَآwamaAnd notأَنتَantayouعَلَيۡهِمalayhim(are) over themبِوَكِيلٍbiwakilina manager٤١
39:42ٱللَّهُal-lahuAllahيَتَوَفَّىyatawaffatakesٱلۡأَنفُسَal-anfusathe soulsحِينَhina(at the) timeمَوۡتِهَاmawtiha(of) their deathوَٱلَّتِيwa-allatiand the one whoلَمۡlam(does) notتَمُتۡtamutdieفِيfiinمَنَامِهَاۖmanamihatheir sleepفَيُمۡسِكُfayum'sikuThen He keepsٱلَّتِيallatithe one whomقَضَىٰqadaHe has decreedعَلَيۡهَاalayhafor themٱلۡمَوۡتَal-mawtathe deathوَيُرۡسِلُwayur'siluand sendsٱلۡأُخۡرَىٰٓal-ukh'rathe othersإِلَىٰٓilaforأَجَلٖajalina termمُّسَمًّىۚmusammanspecifiedإِنَّinnaIndeedفِيfiinذَٰلِكَdhalikathatلَأٓيَٰتٖlaayatinsurely (are) signsلِّقَوۡمٖliqawminfor a peopleيَتَفَكَّرُونَyatafakkarunawho ponder٤٢
39:43أَمِamiOrٱتَّخَذُواْittakhadhuhave they takenمِنminbesidesدُونِdunibesidesٱللَّهِal-lahiAllahشُفَعَآءَۚshufa'aaintercessorsقُلۡqulSayأَوَلَوۡawalawEven thoughكَانُواْkanuthey wereلَاlanotيَمۡلِكُونَyamlikunapossessingشَيۡـٔٗاshayananythingوَلَاwalaand notيَعۡقِلُونَya'qilunathey understand٤٣
39:44قُلqulSayلِّلَّهِlillahiTo Allah (belongs)ٱلشَّفَٰعَةُal-shafa'atuthe intercessionجَمِيعٗاۖjami'anallلَّهُۥlahuFor Himمُلۡكُmul'ku(is the) dominionٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِal-samawati(of) the heavensوَٱلۡأَرۡضِۖwal-ardiand the earthثُمَّthummaThenإِلَيۡهِilayhito Himتُرۡجَعُونَtur'ja'unayou will be returned٤٤
39:45وَإِذَاwa-idhaAnd whenذُكِرَdhukiraAllah is mentionedٱللَّهُal-lahuAllah is mentionedوَحۡدَهُwahdahuAloneٱشۡمَأَزَّتۡish'ma-azzatshrink with aversionقُلُوبُqulubu(the) heartsٱلَّذِينَalladhina(of) those whoلَاla(do) notيُؤۡمِنُونَyu'minunabelieveبِٱلۡأٓخِرَةِۖbil-akhiratiin the Hereafterوَإِذَاwa-idhaand whenذُكِرَdhukiraare mentionedٱلَّذِينَalladhinathoseمِنminbesides Himدُونِهِۦٓdunihibesides HimإِذَاidhabeholdهُمۡhumTheyيَسۡتَبۡشِرُونَyastabshirunarejoice٤٥
39:46قُلِquliSayٱللَّهُمَّal-lahumaO AllahفَاطِرَfatiraCreatorٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِal-samawati(of) the heavensوَٱلۡأَرۡضِwal-ardiand the earthعَٰلِمَalimaKnowerٱلۡغَيۡبِal-ghaybi(of) the unseenوَٱلشَّهَٰدَةِwal-shahadatiand the witnessedأَنتَantaYouتَحۡكُمُtahkumuwill judgeبَيۡنَbaynabetweenعِبَادِكَibadikaYour slavesفِيfiinمَاmawhatكَانُواْkanuthey used toفِيهِfihithereinيَخۡتَلِفُونَyakhtalifunadiffer٤٦
39:47وَلَوۡwalawAnd ifأَنَّannaAnd ifلِلَّذِينَlilladhinathose whoظَلَمُواْzalamudid wrongمَاma(had) whateverفِيfi(is) inٱلۡأَرۡضِal-ardithe earthجَمِيعٗاjami'anallوَمِثۡلَهُۥwamith'lahuand (the) like of itمَعَهُۥma'ahuwith itلَٱفۡتَدَوۡاْla-if'tadawthey would ransomبِهِۦbihiwith itمِنminfromسُوٓءِsui(the) evilٱلۡعَذَابِal-'adhabi(of) the punishmentيَوۡمَyawma(on the) Dayٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِۚal-qiyamati(of) the ResurrectionوَبَدَاwabadaAnd (will) appearلَهُمlahumto themمِّنَminafromٱللَّهِal-lahiAllahمَاmawhatلَمۡlamnotيَكُونُواْyakunuthey hadيَحۡتَسِبُونَyahtasibunataken into account٤٧
39:48وَبَدَاwabadaAnd will become apparentلَهُمۡlahumto themسَيِّـَٔاتُsayyiatu(the) evilsمَاma(of) whatكَسَبُواْkasabuthey earnedوَحَاقَwahaqaand will surroundبِهِمbihimthemمَّاmawhatكَانُواْkanuthey used toبِهِۦbihi[in it]يَسۡتَهۡزِءُونَyastahziunamock٤٨
39:49فَإِذَاfa-idhaSo whenمَسَّmassatouchesٱلۡإِنسَٰنَal-insana[the] manضُرّٞdurrunadversityدَعَانَاda'anahe calls upon UsثُمَّthummathenإِذَاidhawhenخَوَّلۡنَٰهُkhawwalnahuWe bestow (on) himنِعۡمَةٗni'matana favorمِّنَّاminnafrom Usقَالَqalahe saysإِنَّمَآinnamaOnlyأُوتِيتُهُۥutituhuI have been given itعَلَىٰalaforعِلۡمِۭۚil'minknowledgeبَلۡbalNayهِيَhiyaitفِتۡنَةٞfit'natun(is) a trialوَلَٰكِنَّwalakinnabutأَكۡثَرَهُمۡaktharahummost of themلَاla(do) notيَعۡلَمُونَya'lamunaknow٤٩
39:50قَدۡqadIndeedقَالَهَاqalahasaid itٱلَّذِينَalladhinathoseمِنminbefore themقَبۡلِهِمۡqablihimbefore themفَمَآfamabut (did) notأَغۡنَىٰaghnaavailعَنۡهُمanhumthemمَّاmawhatكَانُواْkanuthey used toيَكۡسِبُونَyaksibunaearn٥٠
