36:5تَنزِيلَtanzilaA revelationٱلۡعَزِيزِal-'azizi(of) the All-Mightyٱلرَّحِيمِal-rahimithe Most Merciful٥
36:6لِتُنذِرَlitundhiraThat you may warnقَوۡمٗاqawmana peopleمَّآmanotأُنذِرَundhirawere warnedءَابَآؤُهُمۡabauhumtheir forefathersفَهُمۡfahumso theyغَٰفِلُونَghafiluna(are) heedless٦
36:7لَقَدۡlaqadCertainlyحَقَّhaqqa(has) proved trueٱلۡقَوۡلُal-qawluthe wordعَلَىٰٓalauponأَكۡثَرِهِمۡaktharihimmost of themفَهُمۡfahumso theyلَاla(do) notيُؤۡمِنُونَyu'minunabelieve٧
36:8إِنَّاinnaIndeed Weجَعَلۡنَاja'alna[We] have placedفِيٓfionأَعۡنَٰقِهِمۡa'naqihimtheir necksأَغۡلَٰلٗاaghlalaniron collarsفَهِيَfahiyaand theyإِلَىila(are up) toٱلۡأَذۡقَانِal-adhqanithe chinsفَهُمfahumso theyمُّقۡمَحُونَmuq'mahuna(are with) heads raised up٨
36:9وَجَعَلۡنَاwaja'alnaAnd We have madeمِنۢminfromبَيۡنِbaynibefore/betweenأَيۡدِيهِمۡaydihimtheir hands/their frontسَدّٗاsaddana barrierوَمِنۡwaminand fromخَلۡفِهِمۡkhalfihimbehind themسَدّٗاsaddana barrierفَأَغۡشَيۡنَٰهُمۡfa-aghshaynahumand We covered themفَهُمۡfahumso theyلَاla(do) notيُبۡصِرُونَyub'sirunasee٩
36:10وَسَوَآءٌwasawaonAnd it (is) sameعَلَيۡهِمۡalayhimto themءَأَنذَرۡتَهُمۡa-andhartahumwhether you warn themأَمۡamorلَمۡlam(do) notتُنذِرۡهُمۡtundhir'humwarn themلَاlanotيُؤۡمِنُونَyu'minunathey will believe١٠
36:11إِنَّمَاinnamaOnlyتُنذِرُtundhiruyou (can) warnمَنِmani(him) whoٱتَّبَعَittaba'afollowsٱلذِّكۡرَal-dhik'rathe Reminderوَخَشِيَwakhashiyaand fearsٱلرَّحۡمَٰنَal-rahmanathe Most Graciousبِٱلۡغَيۡبِۖbil-ghaybiin the unseenفَبَشِّرۡهُfabashir'huSo give him glad tidingsبِمَغۡفِرَةٖbimaghfiratinof forgivenessوَأَجۡرٖwa-ajrinand a rewardكَرِيمٍkariminnoble١١
36:12إِنَّاinnaIndeed Weنَحۡنُnahnu[We]نُحۡيِnuh'yi[We] give lifeٱلۡمَوۡتَىٰal-mawta(to) the deadوَنَكۡتُبُwanaktubuand We recordمَاmawhatقَدَّمُواْqaddamuthey have sent beforeوَءَاثَٰرَهُمۡۚwaatharahumand their footprintsوَكُلَّwakullaand everyشَيۡءٍshayinthingأَحۡصَيۡنَٰهُahsaynahuWe have enumerated itفِيٓfiinإِمَامٖimamina Registerمُّبِينٖmubininclear١٢
36:13وَٱضۡرِبۡwa-id'ribAnd set forthلَهُمlahumto themمَّثَلًاmathalanan exampleأَصۡحَٰبَashaba(of the) companionsٱلۡقَرۡيَةِal-qaryati(of) the cityإِذۡidhwhenجَآءَهَاjaahacame to itٱلۡمُرۡسَلُونَal-mur'salunathe Messengers١٣
36:14إِذۡidhWhenأَرۡسَلۡنَآarsalnaWe sentإِلَيۡهِمُilayhimuto themٱثۡنَيۡنِith'naynitwo (Messengers)فَكَذَّبُوهُمَاfakadhabuhumabut they denied both of themفَعَزَّزۡنَاfa'azzaznaso We strengthened themبِثَالِثٖbithalithinwith a thirdفَقَالُوٓاْfaqaluand they saidإِنَّآinnaIndeed Weإِلَيۡكُمilaykumto youمُّرۡسَلُونَmur'saluna(are) Messengers١٤
36:15قَالُواْqaluThey saidمَآmaNotأَنتُمۡantumyouإِلَّاilla(are) butبَشَرٞbasharunhuman beingsمِّثۡلُنَاmith'lunalike usوَمَآwamaand notأَنزَلَanzalahas revealedٱلرَّحۡمَٰنُal-rahmanuthe Most GraciousمِنminanyشَيۡءٍshayinthingإِنۡinNotأَنتُمۡantumyouإِلَّاilla(are) butتَكۡذِبُونَtakdhibunalying١٥
36:16قَالُواْqaluThey saidرَبُّنَاrabbunaOur Lordيَعۡلَمُya'lamuknowsإِنَّآinnathat weإِلَيۡكُمۡilaykumto youلَمُرۡسَلُونَlamur'saluna(are) surely Messengers١٦
36:17وَمَاwamaAnd notعَلَيۡنَآalayna(is) on usإِلَّاillaexceptٱلۡبَلَٰغُal-balaghuthe conveyanceٱلۡمُبِينُal-mubinuclear١٧
36:18قَالُوٓاْqaluThey saidإِنَّاinnaIndeed weتَطَيَّرۡنَاtatayyarna[we] see an evil omenبِكُمۡۖbikumfrom youلَئِنla-inIfلَّمۡlamnotتَنتَهُواْtantahuyou desistلَنَرۡجُمَنَّكُمۡlanarjumannakumsurely we will stone youوَلَيَمَسَّنَّكُمwalayamassannakumand surely will touch youمِّنَّاminnafrom usعَذَابٌadhabuna punishmentأَلِيمٞalimunpainful١٨
36:19قَالُواْqaluThey saidطَٰٓئِرُكُمtairukumYour evil omenمَّعَكُمۡma'akum(be) with youأَئِنa-inIs it becauseذُكِّرۡتُمۚdhukkir'tumyou are admonishedبَلۡbalNayأَنتُمۡantumyouقَوۡمٞqawmun(are) a peopleمُّسۡرِفُونَmus'rifunatransgressing١٩
36:20وَجَآءَwajaaAnd cameمِنۡminfromأَقۡصَاaqsa(the) farthest endٱلۡمَدِينَةِal-madinati(of) the cityرَجُلٞrajuluna manيَسۡعَىٰyas'arunningقَالَqalaHe saidيَٰقَوۡمِyaqawmiO my Peopleٱتَّبِعُواْittabi'uFollowٱلۡمُرۡسَلِينَal-mur'salinathe Messengers٢٠
36:21ٱتَّبِعُواْittabi'uFollowمَنman(those) whoلَّاla(do) notيَسۡـَٔلُكُمۡyasalukumask (of) youأَجۡرٗاajranany paymentوَهُمwahumand theyمُّهۡتَدُونَmuh'taduna(are) rightly guided٢١
36:22وَمَاwamaAnd whatلِيَliya(is) for meلَآla(that) notأَعۡبُدُa'buduI worshipٱلَّذِيalladhithe One Whoفَطَرَنِيfataranicreated meوَإِلَيۡهِwa-ilayhiand to Whomتُرۡجَعُونَtur'ja'unayou will be returned٢٢
36:23ءَأَتَّخِذُa-attakhidhuShould I takeمِنminbesides Himدُونِهِۦٓdunihibesides HimءَالِهَةًalihatangodsإِنinIfيُرِدۡنِyurid'niintends for meٱلرَّحۡمَٰنُal-rahmanuthe Most Graciousبِضُرّٖbidurrinany harmلَّاlanotتُغۡنِtugh'niwill availعَنِّيanni[from] meشَفَٰعَتُهُمۡshafa'atuhumtheir intercessionشَيۡـٔٗاshayan(in) anythingوَلَاwalaand notيُنقِذُونِyunqidhunithey (can) save me٢٣
36:24إِنِّيٓinniIndeed Iإِذٗاidhanthenلَّفِيlafisurely would be inضَلَٰلٖdalalinan errorمُّبِينٍmubininclear٢٤
36:25إِنِّيٓinniIndeed Iءَامَنتُamantu[I] have believedبِرَبِّكُمۡbirabbikumin your Lordفَٱسۡمَعُونِfa-is'ma'uniso listen to me٢٥
