3:2ٱللَّهُʹAllaahuAllah لَآlaaa(there is) noإِلَٰهَʹilaahaGodإِلَّاʹillaexceptهُوَHuwalHimٱلۡحَيُّḤayyulthe Ever-LivingٱلۡقَيُّومُQ̣ayyoom.the Sustainer of all that exists٢
3:3نَزَّلَNazzalaHe revealedعَلَيۡكَʻalaykalto youٱلۡكِتَٰبَKitaabathe Bookبِٱلۡحَقِّbil-Ḥaq̣q̣iin [the] truthمُصَدِّقٗاmuṣaddiq̣alconfirmingلِّمَاlimaathat whichبَيۡنَbayna(was)يَدَيۡهِyadayhibefore itوَأَنزَلَwa-ʹañzalatand He revealedٱلتَّوۡرَىٰةَTawraatathe Tauratوَٱلۡإِنجِيلَwal-ʹIñjeel.and the Injeel٣
3:4مِنMiñFromقَبۡلُq̣ablubefore (this)هُدٗىHudal(as) guidanceلِّلنَّاسِlinnaasifor the mankindوَأَنزَلَwa-ʹañzalalAnd (He) revealedٱلۡفُرۡقَانَۗFurq̣aan.the CriterionإِنَّʹInnalVerilyٱلَّذِينَlaẓeenathose whoكَفَرُواْkafaroodisbelieve[d]بِـَٔايَٰتِbiʹaayaatilin (the) Versesٱللَّهِlaahi(of) Allahلَهُمۡlahumfor themعَذَابٞʻaẓaabuñ(is) a punishmentشَدِيدٞۗshadeed:severeوَٱللَّهُwallaahuAnd AllahعَزِيزٞʻAzeezuñ(is) All-MightyذُوẒuñAll-Ableٱنتِقَامٍtiq̣aam.(of) retribution٤
3:5إِنَّʹInnalIndeedٱللَّهَlaahaAllah لَاlaa-notيَخۡفَىٰyakhfaais hiddenعَلَيۡهِʻalayhifrom Himشَيۡءٞshayʹuñanythingفِيfilinٱلۡأَرۡضِʹarḍithe earthوَلَاwa-laaand notفِيfisinٱلسَّمَآءِsamaaa;the heaven٥
3:6هُوَHuwalHeٱلَّذِيlaẓeee(is) the One Whoيُصَوِّرُكُمۡyuṣawwirukumshapes youفِيfilinٱلۡأَرۡحَامِʹarḥaamithe wombsكَيۡفَkayfahow(ever)يَشَآءُۚyashaaaʹ.He willsلَآLaaa(There is) noإِلَٰهَʹilaahagodإِلَّاʹillaaexceptهُوَHuwalHimٱلۡعَزِيزُʻAzeezulthe All-MightyٱلۡحَكِيمُḤakeem.the All-Wise٦
3:7هُوَHuwalHeٱلَّذِيٓlaẓeeeʹ(is) the One Whoأَنزَلَañzalarevealedعَلَيۡكَʻalaykalto youٱلۡكِتَٰبَKitaabathe Bookمِنۡهُminhuof itءَايَٰتٞʹaayaatum(are) VersesمُّحۡكَمَٰتٌMuḥ-kamaatunabsolutely clear هُنَّhunnathey (are)أُمُّʹUmmulthe foundationٱلۡكِتَٰبِKitaabi(of) the Bookوَأُخَرُwa-ʹukharuand othersمُتَشَٰبِهَٰتٞۖMutashaabihaat.(are) allegoricalفَأَمَّاFaʹammalThen as forٱلَّذِينَlaẓeenathoseفِيfeeinقُلُوبِهِمۡq̣uloobihimtheir heartsزَيۡغٞzayg̣uñ(is) perversity فَيَتَّبِعُونَfayattabiʻoona[so] they followمَاmaa-whatتَشَٰبَهَtashaabaha(is) allegoricalمِنۡهُminhubof itٱبۡتِغَآءَtig̣aaaseekingٱلۡفِتۡنَةِʹalfitnati[the] discordوَٱبۡتِغَآءَwabtig̣aaaʹaand seekingتَأۡوِيلِهِۦۖtaʹweelih.its interpretationوَمَاWa-maaAnd notيَعۡلَمُyaʻlamuknowsتَأۡوِيلَهُۥٓtaʹweelahoooits interpretationإِلَّاʹillalexceptٱللَّهُۗlah.AllahوَٱلرَّٰسِخُونَWar-Raasi-khoonaAnd those firmفِيfilinٱلۡعِلۡمِʻilmi[the] knowledgeيَقُولُونَyaq̣ooloonathey sayءَامَنَّاʹaamannaaWe believeبِهِۦbiheein itكُلّٞkullumAllمِّنۡmin(is)عِندِʻiñdifromرَبِّنَاۗRabbinaa:our Lordوَمَاwa-maaAnd notيَذَّكَّرُyaẓẓakkaruwill take heedإِلَّآʹillaaaexceptأُوْلُواْʹululmenٱلۡأَلۡبَٰبِʹalbaab.(of) understanding٧
3:8رَبَّنَاRabbanaaOur Lordلَاlaa-(Do) notتُزِغۡtuzig̣deviateقُلُوبَنَاq̣uloobabanaour heartsبَعۡدَbaʻdaafterإِذۡʹiẓ[when]هَدَيۡتَنَاhadaytanaaYou (have) guided usوَهَبۡwa-haband grantلَنَاlanaa(for) usمِنmilfromلَّدُنكَladuñkaYourselfرَحۡمَةًۚraḥmah:mercyإِنَّكَʹinnakaIndeed YouأَنتَʹAñtalYouٱلۡوَهَّابُWahhaab.(are) the Bestower٨
3:9رَبَّنَآRabbanaaaOur LordإِنَّكَʹinnakaIndeed Youجَامِعُjaamiʻunwill gatherٱلنَّاسِnaasi[the] mankindلِيَوۡمٖli-Yawmilon a Dayلَّاlaa(there is) noرَيۡبَraybadoubtفِيهِۚfeeh:in itإِنَّʹinnalIndeedٱللَّهَLaahaAllahلَاlaa-(does) notيُخۡلِفُyukhlifulbreakٱلۡمِيعَادَmeeʻaad.the Promise٩
3:10إِنَّʹInnalIndeedٱلَّذِينَlaẓeenathose whoكَفَرُواْkafaroodisbelieve[d]لَنlañneverتُغۡنِيَtug̣niyawill availعَنۡهُمۡʻanhum[for] themأَمۡوَٰلُهُمۡʹamwaaluhumtheir wealthوَلَآwa-laaaand notأَوۡلَٰدُهُمʹawlaaduhumtheir childrenمِّنَminalagainstٱللَّهِlaahiAllahشَيۡـٔٗاۖshayʹaa:anythingوَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَwa-ʹulaaaʹikaand those هُمۡhumthey (are)وَقُودُwaq̣oodun(the) fuelٱلنَّارِNaar.(for) the Fire١٠
3:11كَدَأۡبِKadaʹabiLike behaviorءَالِʹaali(of the) peopleفِرۡعَوۡنَFirʻawna(of) Firaunوَٱلَّذِينَwallaẓeenaand those whoمِنmiñ(were) fromقَبۡلِهِمۡۚq̣ablihim.before themكَذَّبُواْKaẓẓabooThey deniedبِـَٔايَٰتِنَاbiʹaayaatinaa,Our Signsفَأَخَذَهُمُfaʹakhaẓahumulso seized themٱللَّهُlahuAllahبِذُنُوبِهِمۡۗbiẓunoobihim:for their sinsوَٱللَّهُwallaahuAnd AllahشَدِيدُShadeedul(is) severeٱلۡعِقَابِʻiq̣aab.(in) [the] punishment١١
3:12قُلQ̣ulSayلِّلَّذِينَlillaẓeenato those whoكَفَرُواْkafaroodisbelieve[d]سَتُغۡلَبُونَsatug̣laboonaYou will be overcomeوَتُحۡشَرُونَwa-tuḥsharoonaand you will be gatheredإِلَىٰʹilaatoجَهَنَّمَۖJahannam:Hellوَبِئۡسَwa-biʹsal[and] an evilٱلۡمِهَادُmihaad![the] resting place١٢
3:13قَدۡQ̣adSurelyكَانَkaanait wasلَكُمۡlakumfor youءَايَةٞʹAyatuña signفِيfeeinفِئَتَيۡنِfiʹataynil(the) two hostsٱلۡتَقَتَاۖtaq̣ataa:which met فِئَةٞfiʹatuñone groupتُقَٰتِلُtuq̣aatilufightingفِيfeeinسَبِيلِSabeelil(the) wayٱللَّهِlaahi(of) Allahوَأُخۡرَىٰwa-ʹukhraaand anotherكَافِرَةٞkaafiratuñydisbelieversيَرَوۡنَهُمyarawnahumThey were seeing themمِّثۡلَيۡهِمۡmis̤layhimtwice of themرَأۡيَraʹyalwith the sightٱلۡعَيۡنِۚʻayn.(of) their eyesوَٱللَّهُWallaahuAnd Allahيُؤَيِّدُyuʹayyidusupportsبِنَصۡرِهِۦbinaṣriheewith His helpمَنmañywhomيَشَآءُۚyashaaaʹ.He willsإِنَّʹInnaIndeedفِيfeeinذَٰلِكَẓaalikathatلَعِبۡرَةٗlaʻibratalsurely (is) a lessonلِّأُوْلِيliʹulilfor the ownersٱلۡأَبۡصَٰرِʹabṣaar.(of) vision١٣
3:14زُيِّنَZuyyinaBeautifiedلِلنَّاسِlinnaasifor mankindحُبُّḥubbush(is) loveٱلشَّهَوَٰتِshahawaati(of) the (things they) desire مِنَminanofٱلنِّسَآءِnisaaʹi[the] womenوَٱلۡبَنِينَwal-baneenaand [the] sonsوَٱلۡقَنَٰطِيرِwal-q̣anaa-ṭeeriland [the] heapsٱلۡمُقَنطَرَةِmuq̣añṭarati[the] stored upمِنَminaẓofٱلذَّهَبِẓahabi[the] goldوَٱلۡفِضَّةِwal-fiḍḍatiand [the] silverوَٱلۡخَيۡلِwal-khayliland [the] horsesٱلۡمُسَوَّمَةِmusawwamati[the] brandedوَٱلۡأَنۡعَٰمِwal-ʹanʻaamiand [the] cattleوَٱلۡحَرۡثِۗwalḥars̤.and [the] tilled landذَٰلِكَẒaalikaThatمَتَٰعُmataaʻul(is) provisionٱلۡحَيَوٰةِḥayaatid(of) lifeٱلدُّنۡيَاۖdunyaa;(of) the worldوَٱللَّهُwallaahubut Allah عِندَهُۥʻiñdahoowith Himحُسۡنُḥusnul(is an) excellentٱلۡمَـَٔابِmaʹaab.[the] abode to return١٤
3:15۞قُلۡQ̣ulSayأَؤُنَبِّئُكُمʹaʹunabbiʹukum̃Shall I inform youبِخَيۡرٖbikhayrimof betterمِّنmiñthanذَٰلِكُمۡۖẓaalikum?thatلِلَّذِينَLil-laẓeenatFor those whoٱتَّقَوۡاْtaq̣awfear[ed]عِندَʻiñdawithرَبِّهِمۡRabbihimtheir LordجَنَّٰتٞJannaatuñ(are) Gardensتَجۡرِيtajreeflowsمِنmiñfromتَحۡتِهَاtah-tihalunderneath themٱلۡأَنۡهَٰرُʹanhaaru[the] rivers خَٰلِدِينَkhaalideenaabiding foreverفِيهَاfeehaain itوَأَزۡوَٰجٞwa-ʹazwaajumand spousesمُّطَهَّرَةٞmuṭahharatuñwpureوَرِضۡوَٰنٞwariḍwaanumand approvalمِّنَminalfromٱللَّهِۗlaah.AllahوَٱللَّهُWallaahuAnd AllahبَصِيرُۢBaṣeerum(is) All-Seerبِٱلۡعِبَادِbilʻibaad,of (His) slaves١٥
3:16ٱلَّذِينَʹAllaẓeenaThose whoيَقُولُونَyaq̣ooloonasayرَبَّنَآRabbanaaaOur LordإِنَّنَآʹinnanaaaIndeed weءَامَنَّاʹaamannaa(have) believedفَٱغۡفِرۡfag̣hfirso forgiveلَنَاlanaafor usذُنُوبَنَاẓunoobanaaour sinsوَقِنَاwaq̣inaaand save usعَذَابَʻaẓaaban(from) punishmentٱلنَّارِNaar;(of) the Fire١٦
3:17ٱلصَّٰبِرِينَʹAṣ-ṢaabireenaThe patientوَٱلصَّٰدِقِينَwaṣ-Ṣaadiq̣eenaand the truthfulوَٱلۡقَٰنِتِينَwal-Q̣aaniteenaand the obedientوَٱلۡمُنفِقِينَwal-Muñfiq̣eenaand those who spendوَٱلۡمُسۡتَغۡفِرِينَwal-Mustag̣fireenaand those who seek forgivenessبِٱلۡأَسۡحَارِbil-ʹas-ḥaar.[in the] before dawn١٧
3:18شَهِدَShahidalBears witnessٱللَّهُlaahuAllahأَنَّهُۥʹanna-Hoothat [He]لَآlaaa(there is) noإِلَٰهَʹilaahagodإِلَّاʹillaaexceptهُوَHuwaHimوَٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةُwal-malaaaʹikatuand (so do) the Angelsوَأُوْلُواْwa-ʹululand ownersٱلۡعِلۡمِʻilmi(of) [the] knowledge قَآئِمَۢاq̣aaaʹimamstandingبِٱلۡقِسۡطِۚbilq̣isṭ.in justiceلَآLaaa(There is) noإِلَٰهَʹilaahagodإِلَّاʹillaaexceptهُوَHuwalHimٱلۡعَزِيزُʻAzeezulthe All-MightyٱلۡحَكِيمُḤakeem.the All-Wise١٨
3:19إِنَّʹInnadIndeedٱلدِّينَDeenathe religionعِندَʻiñdalnearٱللَّهِlaahilAllahٱلۡإِسۡلَٰمُۗʹIslaam.(is) IslamوَمَاWa-makhAnd notٱخۡتَلَفَtalafaldifferedٱلَّذِينَlaẓeenathose whoأُوتُواْʹootulwere givenٱلۡكِتَٰبَKitaabathe Bookإِلَّاʹillaaexceptمِنۢmimfromبَعۡدِbaʻdiafterمَاmaa-[what]جَآءَهُمُjaaaʹahumulcame to themٱلۡعِلۡمُʻilmu[the] knowledgeبَغۡيَۢاbag̣hyamout of envyبَيۡنَهُمۡۗbaynahum.among themوَمَنWa-mañyAnd whoeverيَكۡفُرۡyakfurdisbelievesبِـَٔايَٰتِbiʹAayaatilin (the) Versesٱللَّهِlahi(of) Allahفَإِنَّfaʹinnalthen indeedٱللَّهَlaahaAllahسَرِيعُSareeʻul(is) swiftٱلۡحِسَابِḥisaab.(in taking) account١٩
3:20فَإِنۡFaʹinThen ifحَآجُّوكَḥaajjookathey argue with youفَقُلۡfaq̣ulthen sayأَسۡلَمۡتُʹaslamtuI have submittedوَجۡهِيَwajhiyamyselfلِلَّهِlillaahito Allahوَمَنِwa-manitand (those) whoٱتَّبَعَنِۗtabaʻan.follow meوَقُلWa-q̣ulAnd sayلِّلَّذِينَlillaẓeenato those whoأُوتُواْʹootulwere givenٱلۡكِتَٰبَKitaabathe Bookوَٱلۡأُمِّيِّـۧنَwal-ʹummiyyeenaand the unlettered peopleءَأَسۡلَمۡتُمۡۚʹaʹaslamtum?Have you submitted yourselvesفَإِنۡFaʹinThen ifأَسۡلَمُواْʹaslamoothey submitفَقَدِfaq̣adihthen surelyٱهۡتَدَواْۖtadaw.they are guidedوَّإِنWa-ʹiñBut ifتَوَلَّوۡاْtawallawthey turn backفَإِنَّمَاfaʹinnamaathen onlyعَلَيۡكَʻalaykalon youٱلۡبَلَٰغُۗbalaag̣:(is) to [the] conveyوَٱللَّهُwallaahuAnd AllahبَصِيرُۢBaṣeerum(is) All-Seerبِٱلۡعِبَادِbil-ʻibaad.of [His] slaves٢٠
3:21إِنَّʹInnalIndeedٱلَّذِينَlaẓeenathose whoيَكۡفُرُونَyakfuroonadisbelieveبِـَٔايَٰتِbiʹAayaaatilin (the) Signs (of)ٱللَّهِlaahiAllahوَيَقۡتُلُونَwa-yaq̣tuloonanand they killٱلنَّبِيِّـۧنَnabiyyeenathe Prophetsبِغَيۡرِbig̣ayriwithoutحَقّٖḥaq̣q̣iñwrightوَيَقۡتُلُونَwayaq̣tuloonaland they killٱلَّذِينَlaẓeenathose whoيَأۡمُرُونَyaʹmuroonaorderبِٱلۡقِسۡطِbilq̣isṭi[with] justiceمِنَminanamongٱلنَّاسِnaasithe peopleفَبَشِّرۡهُمfabashshirhum̃then give them tidingsبِعَذَابٍbiʻaẓaabinof a punishmentأَلِيمٍʹaleem.painful٢١
3:22أُوْلَٰٓئِكَʹUlaaaʹikalThoseٱلَّذِينَlaẓeena(are) the ones who حَبِطَتۡḥabiṭatbecame worthlessأَعۡمَٰلُهُمۡʹaʻmaaluhumtheir deedsفِيfidinٱلدُّنۡيَاdunyaathe worldوَٱلۡأٓخِرَةِwal-ʹaakhiratiand (in) the Hereafterوَمَاwa-maaAnd notلَهُمlahum(will be) for themمِّنminanyنَّٰصِرِينَnaṣireen.helpers٢٢
3:23أَلَمۡʹAlamHave notتَرَtarayou seenإِلَىʹilal[to]ٱلَّذِينَlaẓeenathose whoأُوتُواْʹootoowere givenنَصِيبٗاnaṣeeban a portionمِّنَminalofٱلۡكِتَٰبِKitaabithe ScriptureيُدۡعَوۡنَyudʻawnaThey are invitedإِلَىٰʹilaatoكِتَٰبِKitaabil(the) Bookٱللَّهِlaahi(of) Allahلِيَحۡكُمَliyaḥkumathat (it should) arbitrateبَيۡنَهُمۡbay-nahumbetween themثُمَّs̤ummathenيَتَوَلَّىٰyatawallaaturns awayفَرِيقٞfareeq̣uma partyمِّنۡهُمۡminhumof themوَهُمwahumand they (are)مُّعۡرِضُونَmuʻriḍoon.those who are averse٢٣
3:24ذَٰلِكَẒaalikaThatبِأَنَّهُمۡbiʹannahum(is) because theyقَالُواْq̣aaloosayلَنlañNeverتَمَسَّنَاtamassananwill touch usٱلنَّارُNaaruthe Fireإِلَّآʹillaaaexceptأَيَّامٗاʹayyaaman(for) daysمَّعۡدُودَٰتٖۖmaʻdoodaat:numberedوَغَرَّهُمۡwa-g̣arrahumAnd deceived themفِيfeeinدِينِهِمdeenihimtheir religionمَّاmaawhatكَانُواْkaanoothey wereيَفۡتَرُونَyaftaroon.inventing٢٤
3:25فَكَيۡفَFakayfaThen how (will it be)إِذَاʹiẓaawhenجَمَعۡنَٰهُمۡjamaʻnaahumWe will gather themلِيَوۡمٖliyawmilon a Day لَّاlaanoرَيۡبَraybadoubtفِيهِfeeh,in itوَوُفِّيَتۡwa-wuffiyatAnd will be paid in fullكُلُّkullueveryنَفۡسٖnafsimsoulمَّاmaawhatكَسَبَتۡkasabatit earnedوَهُمۡwahumand theyلَاlaa-(will) notيُظۡلَمُونَyuz̤̣lamoon?be wronged٢٥
