وَكَيۡفَ
Wa-kayfa
And how (could)
تَكۡفُرُونَ
takfuroona
you disbelieve
وَأَنتُمۡ
wa-ʹañtum
while [you]
تُتۡلَىٰ
tutlaa
is recited
عَلَيۡكُمۡ
ʻalaykum
upon you
ءَايَٰتُ
ʹAayaatul
(the) Verses
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
(of) Allah
وَفِيكُمۡ
wa-feekum
and among you
رَسُولُهُۥۗ
Rasooluh?
(is) His Messenger
وَمَن
Wa-mañy
And whoever
يَعۡتَصِم
yaʻtaṣim̃
holds firmly
بِٱللَّهِ
bil-laahi
to Allah
فَقَدۡ
faq̣ad
then surely
هُدِيَ
hudiya
he is guided
إِلَىٰ
ʹilaa
to
صِرَٰطٖ
Ṣiraaṭim
a path
مُّسۡتَقِيمٖ
Mustaq̣eem.
straight
١٠١
3:102
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
Yaaaʹayyuhal
O you
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
who
ءَامَنُواْ
ʹaamanut
believe[d]
ٱتَّقُواْ
taq̣ul
Fear
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
حَقَّ
ḥaq̣q̣a
(as is His) right
تُقَاتِهِۦ
tuq̣aatihee
(that) He (should) be feared
وَلَا
wa-laa
and (do) not
تَمُوتُنَّ
tamootunna
die
إِلَّا
ʹillaa
except
وَأَنتُم
wa-ʹañtum
[while you]
مُّسۡلِمُونَ
Muslimoon.
(as) Muslims
١٠٢
3:103
وَٱعۡتَصِمُواْ
Waʻtaṣimoo
And hold firmly
بِحَبۡلِ
bi-Ḥablil
to (the) rope
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
(of) Allah
جَمِيعٗا
jameeʻañw
all together
وَلَا
walaa
and (do) not
تَفَرَّقُواْۚ
tafarraq̣oo.
be divided
وَٱذۡكُرُواْ
Waẓkuroo
And remember
نِعۡمَتَ
niʻmatal
(the) Favor
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
(of) Allah
عَلَيۡكُمۡ
ʻalaykum
on you
إِذۡ
ʹiẓ
when
كُنتُمۡ
kuñtum
you were
أَعۡدَآءٗ
ʹaʻdaaaʹañ
enemies
فَأَلَّفَ
faʹallafa
then He made friendship
بَيۡنَ
bayna
between
قُلُوبِكُمۡ
q̣uloobikum
your hearts
فَأَصۡبَحۡتُم
faʹaṣbaḥtum̃
then you became
بِنِعۡمَتِهِۦٓ
biniʻmatiheee
by His Favor
إِخۡوَٰنٗا
ʹikhwaanaa;
brothers
وَكُنتُمۡ
wa-kuñtum
And you were
عَلَىٰ
ʻalaa
on
شَفَا
shafaa
(the) brink
حُفۡرَةٖ
ḥufratim
(of) pit
مِّنَ
minan
of
ٱلنَّارِ
naari
the Fire
فَأَنقَذَكُم
faʹañq̣aẓakum
then He saved you
مِّنۡهَاۗ
minhaa.
from it
كَذَٰلِكَ
Kaẓaalika
Thus
يُبَيِّنُ
yubayyinul
makes clear
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah
لَكُمۡ
lakum
for you
ءَايَٰتِهِۦ
ʹAayaatihee
His Verses
لَعَلَّكُمۡ
laʻallakum
so that you may
تَهۡتَدُونَ
tahtadoon.
(be) guided
١٠٣
3:104
وَلۡتَكُن
Waltakum
And let there be
مِّنكُمۡ
miñkum
among you
أُمَّةٞ
ʹUmmatuñy
[a] people
يَدۡعُونَ
yadʻoona
inviting
إِلَى
ʹilal
to
ٱلۡخَيۡرِ
khayri
the good
وَيَأۡمُرُونَ
wa-yaʹmuroona
[and] enjoining
بِٱلۡمَعۡرُوفِ
bil-maʻroofi
the right
وَيَنۡهَوۡنَ
wa-yan-hawna
and forbidding
عَنِ
ʻanil
from
ٱلۡمُنكَرِۚ
muñkar:
the wrong
وَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ
wa-ʹulaaaʹika
and those
هُمُ
humul
they
ٱلۡمُفۡلِحُونَ
mufliḥoon.
(are) the successful ones
١٠٤
3:105
وَلَا
Wa-laa
And (do) not
تَكُونُواْ
takoonoo
be
كَٱلَّذِينَ
kallaẓeena
like those who
تَفَرَّقُواْ
tafarraq̣oo
became divided
وَٱخۡتَلَفُواْ
wakhtalafoo
and differed
مِنۢ
mim
from
بَعۡدِ
baʻdi
after
مَا
maa-
what
جَآءَهُمُ
jaaaʹahumul
came to them
ٱلۡبَيِّنَٰتُۚ
Bayyinaat:
the clear proofs
وَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ
wa-ʹulaaʹika
And those
لَهُمۡ
lahum
for them
عَذَابٌ
ʻa-Z̤̣aabun
(is) a punishment
عَظِيمٞ
ʻaz̤̣eem.
great
١٠٥
3:106
يَوۡمَ
Yawma
(On the) Day
تَبۡيَضُّ
tabyaḍḍu
would become white
وُجُوهٞ
wujoohuñw
(some) faces
وَتَسۡوَدُّ
wataswaddu
and would become black
وُجُوهٞۚ
wujooh:
(some) faces
فَأَمَّا
faʹammal
As for
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeenas
those whose
ٱسۡوَدَّتۡ
waddat
turn black
وُجُوهُهُمۡ
wujoohum:
[their] faces
أَكَفَرۡتُم
ʹakafartum̃
Did you disbelieve
بَعۡدَ
baʻda
after
إِيمَٰنِكُمۡ
ʹeemaanikum
your belief
فَذُوقُواْ
faẓooq̣ul
Then taste
ٱلۡعَذَابَ
ʻaẓaaba
the punishment
بِمَا
bimaa
for what
كُنتُمۡ
kuñtum
you used to
تَكۡفُرُونَ
takfuroon?
disbelieve
١٠٦
3:107
وَأَمَّا
Wa-ʹammal
But as for
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeenab
those whose
ٱبۡيَضَّتۡ
biyaḍḍat
turn white
وُجُوهُهُمۡ
wujoohuhum
[their] faces
فَفِي
fafee
then (they will be) in
رَحۡمَةِ
raḥmatil
(the) Mercy
ٱللَّهِۖ
laah:
(of) Allah
هُمۡ
hum
they
فِيهَا
feehaa
in it
خَٰلِدُونَ
khaalidoon.
(will) abide forever
١٠٧
3:108
تِلۡكَ
Tilka
These
ءَايَٰتُ
ʹAayaatul
(are the) Verses
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
(of) Allah
نَتۡلُوهَا
natloohaa
We recite them
عَلَيۡكَ
ʻalayka
to you
بِٱلۡحَقِّۗ
bil-Ḥaq̣q̣.
in truth
وَمَا
Wa-mal
And not
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah
يُرِيدُ
yureedu
wants
ظُلۡمٗا
z̤̣ulmal
injustice
لِّلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
lilʻaalameen.
to the worlds
١٠٨
Page 64
3:109
وَلِلَّهِ
Walillaahi
And to Allah (belongs)
مَا
maa-
whatever
فِي
fis
(is) in
ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ
samaawaati
the heavens
وَمَا
wa-maa
and whatever
فِي
fil
(is) in
ٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ
ʹarḍ:
the earth
وَإِلَى
wa-ʹilal
And to
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
Allah
تُرۡجَعُ
turjaʻul
will be returned
ٱلۡأُمُورُ
ʹumoor.
the matters
١٠٩
3:110
كُنتُمۡ
Kuñtum
You are
خَيۡرَ
khayra
(the) best
أُمَّةٍ
ʹummatin
(of) people
أُخۡرِجَتۡ
ʹukhrijat
raised
لِلنَّاسِ
linnaasi
for the mankind
تَأۡمُرُونَ
taʹmuroona
enjoining
بِٱلۡمَعۡرُوفِ
bilmaʻroofi
the right
وَتَنۡهَوۡنَ
wa-tanhawna
and forbidding
عَنِ
ʻanil
[from]
ٱلۡمُنكَرِ
muñkari
the wrong
وَتُؤۡمِنُونَ
wa-tuʹminoona
and believing
بِٱللَّهِۗ
billaah.
in Allah
وَلَوۡ
Wa-law
And if
ءَامَنَ
ʹaamana
believed
أَهۡلُ
ʹAhlul
(the) People
ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ
Kitaabi
(of) the Book
لَكَانَ
lakaana
surely would have been
خَيۡرٗا
khayral
good
لَّهُمۚ
lahum:
for them
مِّنۡهُمُ
minhumul
Among them
ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنُونَ
muʹminoona
(are) [the] believers
وَأَكۡثَرُهُمُ
wa-ʹaks̤aru-humul
but most of them
ٱلۡفَٰسِقُونَ
faasiq̣oon.
(are) defiantly disobedient
١١٠
3:111
لَن
Lañy
Never
يَضُرُّوكُمۡ
yaḍurrookum
will they harm you
إِلَّآ
ʹillaaa
except
أَذٗىۖ
ʹaẓaaa;
a hurt
وَإِن
wa-ʹiñy
And if
يُقَٰتِلُوكُمۡ
yuq̣aatilookum
they fight you
يُوَلُّوكُمُ
yuwal-lookumul
they will turn (towards) you
ٱلۡأَدۡبَارَ
ʹadbaar.
the backs
ثُمَّ
S̤umma
then
لَا
laa-
not
يُنصَرُونَ
yuñṣaroon.
they will be helped
١١١
3:112
ضُرِبَتۡ
Ḍuribat
Struck
عَلَيۡهِمُ
ʻalayhimuẓ
on them
ٱلذِّلَّةُ
ẓillatu
the humiliation
أَيۡنَ
ʹayna
wherever
مَا
maa-
that
ثُقِفُوٓاْ
s̤uq̣ifooo
they are found
إِلَّا
ʹillaa
except
بِحَبۡلٖ
bi-Ḥablim
with a rope
مِّنَ
minal
from
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
Allah
وَحَبۡلٖ
wa-Ḥablim
and a rope
مِّنَ
minan
from
ٱلنَّاسِ
naasi
the people
وَبَآءُو
wa-baaaʹoo
And they incurred
بِغَضَبٖ
big̣aḍabim
wrath
مِّنَ
minal
from
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
Allah
وَضُرِبَتۡ
wa-ḍuribat
and struck
عَلَيۡهِمُ
ʻalayhimul
on them
ٱلۡمَسۡكَنَةُۚ
maskanah.
the poverty
ذَٰلِكَ
Ẓaalika
That
بِأَنَّهُمۡ
biʹannahum
(is) because
كَانُواْ
kaanoo
they used to
يَكۡفُرُونَ
yakfuroona
disbelieve
بِـَٔايَٰتِ
biʹAayaatil
in (the) Verses
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
(of) Allah
وَيَقۡتُلُونَ
wa-yaq̣tuloonal
and they killed
ٱلۡأَنۢبِيَآءَ
ʹambiyaaaʹa
the Prophets
بِغَيۡرِ
big̣ayri
without
حَقّٖۚ
ḥaq̣q̣;
right
ذَٰلِكَ
ẓaalika
That
بِمَا
bimaa
(is) because
عَصَواْ
ʻaṣaw
they disobeyed
وَّكَانُواْ
Wakaanoo
and they used to
يَعۡتَدُونَ
yaʻtadoon.
transgress
١١٢
3:113
۞لَيۡسُواْ
Laysoo
They are not
سَوَآءٗۗ
sawaaaʹaa.
(the) same
مِّنۡ
Min
among
أَهۡلِ
ʹAhlil
(the) People
ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ
Kitaabi
(of) the Book
أُمَّةٞ
ʹummatuñ
(is) a community
قَآئِمَةٞ
q̣aaaʹimatuñy
standing
يَتۡلُونَ
yatloona
(and) reciting
ءَايَٰتِ
ʹAayaatil
(the) Verses
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
(of) Allah
ءَانَآءَ
ʹaanaaaʹal
(in the) hours
ٱلَّيۡلِ
layli
(of) the night
وَهُمۡ
wa-hum
and they
يَسۡجُدُونَ
yasjudoon.
prostrate
١١٣
3:114
يُؤۡمِنُونَ
Yuʹminoona
They believe
بِٱللَّهِ
billaahi
in Allah
وَٱلۡيَوۡمِ
wal-Yawmil
and the Day
ٱلۡأٓخِرِ
ʹAakhiri
the Last
وَيَأۡمُرُونَ
wa-yaʹmuroona
and they enjoin
بِٱلۡمَعۡرُوفِ
bilmaʻroofi
[with] the right
وَيَنۡهَوۡنَ
wa-yanhawna
and forbid
عَنِ
ʻanil
[from]
ٱلۡمُنكَرِ
muñkari
the wrong
وَيُسَٰرِعُونَ
wa-yusaariʻoona
and they hasten
فِي
fil
in
ٱلۡخَيۡرَٰتِۖ
khayrat:
the good deeds
وَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ
wa-ʹulaaaʹika
And those
مِنَ
minañ
(are) from
ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ
Ṣaaliḥeen.
the righteous
١١٤
3:115
وَمَا
Wa-maa
And whatever
يَفۡعَلُواْ
yafʻaloo
they do
مِنۡ
miñ
of
خَيۡرٖ
khayriñ
a good
فَلَن
falañy
then never
يُكۡفَرُوهُۗ
yukfarooh:
will they be denied it
وَٱللَّهُ
wal-laahu
And Allah
عَلِيمُۢ
ʻAleemum
(is) All-Knowing
بِٱلۡمُتَّقِينَ
bil-Muttaq̣een.
of the God-fearing
١١٥

3:116
إِنَّ
ʹInnal
Indeed
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those who
كَفَرُواْ
kafaroo
disbelieved
لَن
lañ
never
تُغۡنِيَ
tug̣niya
will avail
عَنۡهُمۡ
ʻanhum
[for] them
أَمۡوَٰلُهُمۡ
ʹamwaaluhum
their wealth
وَلَآ
wa-laaa
and not
أَوۡلَٰدُهُم
ʹawlaaduhum
their children
مِّنَ
minal
against
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
Allah
شَيۡـٔٗاۖ
shayʹaa:
anything
وَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ
waʹulaaaʹika
and those
أَصۡحَٰبُ
ʹAṣḥaabun
(are the) companions
ٱلنَّارِۖ
Naari
(of) the Fire
هُمۡ
hum
they
فِيهَا
feehaa
in it
خَٰلِدُونَ
khaalidoon.
(will) abide forever
١١٦
3:117
مَثَلُ
Mas̤alu
Example
مَا
maa-
(of) what
يُنفِقُونَ
yuñfiq̣oona
they spend
فِي
fee
in
هَٰذِهِ
haaẓihil
this
ٱلۡحَيَوٰةِ
ḥayaatid
[the] life
ٱلدُّنۡيَا
dunyaa
(of) the world
كَمَثَلِ
kamas̤ali
(is) like (the) example
رِيحٖ
reeḥiñ
(of) a wind
فِيهَا
feeha
in it
صِرٌّ
ṣirrun
(is) frost
أَصَابَتۡ
ʹaṣaabat
it struck
حَرۡثَ
ḥarsa
(the) harvest
قَوۡمٖ
q̣awmiñ
(of) a people
ظَلَمُوٓاْ
z̤̣alamooo
who wronged
أَنفُسَهُمۡ
ʹañfusahum
themselves
فَأَهۡلَكَتۡهُۚ
faʹahlakath.
then destroyed it
وَمَا
Wa-maa
And not
ظَلَمَهُمُ
z̤̣alamahumul
(has) wronged them
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah
وَلَٰكِنۡ
wa-laakin
[and] but
أَنفُسَهُمۡ
ʹañfusahum
themselves
يَظۡلِمُونَ
yaz̤̣limoon.
they wronged
١١٧
3:118
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
Yaaaʹayyuhal
O you
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
who
ءَامَنُواْ
ʹaamanoo
believe[d]
لَا
laa-
(Do) not
تَتَّخِذُواْ
tat-takhiẓoo
take
بِطَانَةٗ
biṭaanatam
(as) intimates
مِّن
miñ
from
دُونِكُمۡ
doonikum
other than yourselves
لَا
laa-
not
يَأۡلُونَكُمۡ
yaʹloonakum
they will spare you
خَبَالٗا
khabaalaa.
(any) ruin
وَدُّواْ
Waddu
They wish
مَا
maa-
what
عَنِتُّمۡ
ʻanittum.
distresses you
قَدۡ
Q̣ad
Indeed
بَدَتِ
badatil
(has become) apparent
ٱلۡبَغۡضَآءُ
bag̣ḍaaaʹu
the hatred
مِنۡ
min
from
أَفۡوَٰهِهِمۡ
ʹafwaahihim
their mouths
وَمَا
wa-maa
and what
تُخۡفِي
tukhfee
conceals
صُدُورُهُمۡ
ṣudooruhum
their breasts
أَكۡبَرُۚ
ʹakbar.
(is) greater
قَدۡ
Q̣ad
Certainly
بَيَّنَّا
bayyanna
We made clear
لَكُمُ
lakumul
for you
ٱلۡأٓيَٰتِۖ
ʹAayaati
the Verses
إِن
ʹiñ
if
كُنتُمۡ
kuñtum
you were
تَعۡقِلُونَ
taʻq̣iloon.
(to use) reason
١١٨
3:119
هَٰٓأَنتُمۡ
Haaaʹañtum
Lo! You are
أُوْلَآءِ
ʹulaaaʹi
those
تُحِبُّونَهُمۡ
tuḥibboonahum
you love them
وَلَا
wa-laa
but not
يُحِبُّونَكُمۡ
yuḥibboonakum
they love you
وَتُؤۡمِنُونَ
wa-tuʹminoona
and you believe
بِٱلۡكِتَٰبِ
bil-Kitaabi
in the Book
كُلِّهِۦ
kullih.
all of it
وَإِذَا
Waʹiẓaa
And when
لَقُوكُمۡ
laq̣ookum
they meet you
قَالُوٓاْ
q̣aalooo
they say
ءَامَنَّا
ʹaamannaa:
We believe
وَإِذَا
waʹiẓa
And when
خَلَوۡاْ
khalaw
they are alone
عَضُّواْ
ʻaḍḍoo
they bite
عَلَيۡكُمُ
ʻalaykumul
at you
ٱلۡأَنَامِلَ
ʹanaamila
the finger tips
مِنَ
minal
(out) of
ٱلۡغَيۡظِۚ
g̣ayz̤̣.
[the] rage
قُلۡ
Q̣ul
Say
مُوتُواْ
mootoo
Die
بِغَيۡظِكُمۡۗ
big̣ayz̤̣ikum:
in your rage
إِنَّ
ʹinnal
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
عَلِيمُۢ
ʻAleemum
(is) All-Knowing
بِذَاتِ
biẓaatiṣ
of what
ٱلصُّدُورِ
ṣudoor.
(is in) the breasts
١١٩
3:120
إِن
ʹIñ
If
تَمۡسَسۡكُمۡ
tamsaskum
touches you
حَسَنَةٞ
ḥasanatuñ
a good
تَسُؤۡهُمۡ
tasuʹhum
it grieves them
وَإِن
waʹiñ
and if
تُصِبۡكُمۡ
tuṣibkum
strikes you
سَيِّئَةٞ
sayyiʹatuñy
misfortune
يَفۡرَحُواْ
yafraḥoo
they rejoice
بِهَاۖ
bihaa.
at it
وَإِن
Waʹiñ
And if
تَصۡبِرُواْ
taṣbiroo
you are patient
وَتَتَّقُواْ
watattaq̣oo
and fear (Allah)
لَا
laa-
not
يَضُرُّكُمۡ
yaḍurrukum
will harm you
كَيۡدُهُمۡ
kayduhum
their plot
شَيۡـًٔاۗ
shayʹaa:
(in) anything
إِنَّ
ʹinnal
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
laah
Allah
بِمَا
bimaa
of what
يَعۡمَلُونَ
yaʻmaloona
they do
مُحِيطٞ
Muḥeeṭ.
(is) All-Encompassing
١٢٠
3:121
وَإِذۡ
Waʹiẓ
And when
غَدَوۡتَ
g̣adawta
you left early morning
مِنۡ
min
from
أَهۡلِكَ
ʹahlika
your household
تُبَوِّئُ
tubawwiʹul
to post
ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
Muʹmineena
the believers
مَقَٰعِدَ
maq̣aaʻida
(to take) positions
لِلۡقِتَالِۗ
lilq̣itaal:
for the battle
وَٱللَّهُ
wal-laahu
And Allah
سَمِيعٌ
Sameeʻun
(is) All-Hearing
عَلِيمٌ
ʻAleem:
All-Knowing

3:122
إِذۡ
ʹIẓ
When
هَمَّت
hammaṭ
inclined
طَّآئِفَتَانِ
ṭaaaʹifataani
two parties
مِنكُمۡ
miñkum
among you
أَن
ʹañ
that
تَفۡشَلَا
taf-shalaa
they lost heart
وَٱللَّهُ
wal-laahu
but Allah
وَلِيُّهُمَاۗ
Waliyyuhuma,
(was) their protector
وَعَلَى
waʻalal
And on
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
Allah
فَلۡيَتَوَكَّلِ
fal-yatawak-kalil
let put (their) trust
ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنُونَ
Muʹminoon.
the believers
١٢٢
3:123
وَلَقَدۡ
Wa-laq̣ad
And certainly
نَصَرَكُمُ
naṣarakumul
helped you
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah
بِبَدۡرٖ
bi-Badriñw
in Badr
وَأَنتُمۡ
waʹañtum
while you (were)
أَذِلَّةٞۖ
ʹaẓillah:
weak
فَٱتَّقُواْ
fattaq̣ul
So fear
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
لَعَلَّكُمۡ
laʻallakum
so that you may
تَشۡكُرُونَ
tashkuroon.
(be) grateful
١٢٣
3:124
إِذۡ
ʹIẓ
When
تَقُولُ
taq̣oolu
you said
لِلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
lil-Muʹmineena
to the believers
أَلَن
ʹalañy
Is it not
يَكۡفِيَكُمۡ
yakfiyakum
enough for you
أَن
ʹañy
that
يُمِدَّكُمۡ
yumiddaku
reinforces you
رَبُّكُم
Rabbukum̃
your Lord
بِثَلَٰثَةِ
bis̤alaas̤ati
with three
ءَالَٰفٖ
ʹaalaafim
thousand[s]
مِّنَ
minal
[of]
ٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ
malaaaʹikati
[the] Angels
مُنزَلِينَ
muñzaleen?
[the ones] sent down
١٢٤
3:125
بَلَىٰٓۚ
Balaaa
Yes
إِن
ʹiñ
if
تَصۡبِرُواْ
taṣbiroo
you are patient
وَتَتَّقُواْ
wa-tattaq̣oo
and fear (Allah)
وَيَأۡتُوكُم
wa-yaʹtookum
and they come upon you
مِّن
miñ
[of]
فَوۡرِهِمۡ
fawrihim
suddenly
هَٰذَا
haaẓaa
[this]
يُمۡدِدۡكُمۡ
yumdidkum
will reinforce you
رَبُّكُم
Rabbukum̃
your Lord
بِخَمۡسَةِ
bikhamsati
with five
ءَالَٰفٖ
ʹaalaafim
thousand[s]
مِّنَ
minal
[of]
ٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ
malaaaʹikati
[the] Angels
مُسَوِّمِينَ
musawwimeen.
[the ones] having marks
١٢٥
3:126
وَمَا
Wa-maa
And not
جَعَلَهُ
jaʻalahul
made it
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah
إِلَّا
ʹillaa
except
بُشۡرَىٰ
bushraa
(as) good news
لَكُمۡ
lakum
for you
وَلِتَطۡمَئِنَّ
wa-litaṭmaʹinna
and to reassure
قُلُوبُكُم
q̣uloobukum̃
your hearts
بِهِۦۗ
bih:
with it
وَمَا
wa-man
And (there is) no
ٱلنَّصۡرُ
naṣru
[the] victory
إِلَّا
ʹillaa
except
مِنۡ
min
from
عِندِ
ʻiñdi
[near]
ٱللَّهِ
laahil
Allah
ٱلۡعَزِيزِ
ʻAzeezil
the All-Mighty
ٱلۡحَكِيمِ
Ḥakeem:
the All-Wise
١٢٦
3:127
لِيَقۡطَعَ
Liyaq̣ṭaʻa
That He may cut off
طَرَفٗا
ṭarafam
a part
مِّنَ
minal
of
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those who
كَفَرُوٓاْ
kafarooo
disbelieved
أَوۡ
ʹaw
or
يَكۡبِتَهُمۡ
yakbitahum
suppress them
فَيَنقَلِبُواْ
fayañq̣aliboo
so (that) they turn back
خَآئِبِينَ
khaaaʹibeen.
disappointed
١٢٧
3:128
لَيۡسَ
Laysa
Not
لَكَ
laka
for you
مِنَ
minal
of
ٱلۡأَمۡرِ
ʹamri
the decision
شَيۡءٌ
shayʹun
(of) anything
أَوۡ
ʹaw
whether
يَتُوبَ
yatooba
He turns
عَلَيۡهِمۡ
ʻalayhim
to them
أَوۡ
ʹaw
or
يُعَذِّبَهُمۡ
yuʻaẓẓibahum
punishes them
فَإِنَّهُمۡ
faʹinnahum
for indeed they
ظَٰلِمُونَ
Z̤̣aalimoon.
(are) wrongdoers
١٢٨
3:129
وَلِلَّهِ
Walillaahi
And to Allah (belongs)
مَا
maa-
what
فِي
fis
(is) in
ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ
samaawaati
the heavens
وَمَا
wa-maa
and what
فِي
fil
(is) in
ٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ
ʹarḍ.
the earth
يَغۡفِرُ
Yag̣firu
He forgives
لِمَن
limañy
[for] whom
يَشَآءُ
yashaaaʹu
He wills
وَيُعَذِّبُ
wa-yuʻaẓẓibu
and punishes
مَن
mañy
whom
يَشَآءُۚ
yashaaaʹ:
He wills
وَٱللَّهُ
wallaahu
And Allah
غَفُورٞ
G̣afoorur
(is) Oft-Forgiving
رَّحِيمٞ
Raheem.
Most Merciful
١٢٩
3:130
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
Yaaaʹayyuhal
O you
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
who
ءَامَنُواْ
ʹaamanoo
believe
لَا
laa-
(Do) not
تَأۡكُلُواْ
taʹkulur
eat
ٱلرِّبَوٰٓاْ
Ribaaa
the usury
أَضۡعَٰفٗا
ʹaḍʻaafam
doubled
مُّضَٰعَفَةٗۖ
muḍaaʻafah ;
multiplied
وَٱتَّقُواْ
wattaq̣ul
And fear
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
لَعَلَّكُمۡ
laʻallakum
so that you may
تُفۡلِحُونَ
tufliḥoon.
(be) successful
١٣٠
3:131
وَٱتَّقُواْ
Wattaq̣un
And fear
ٱلنَّارَ
Naaral
the Fire
ٱلَّتِيٓ
lateee
which
أُعِدَّتۡ
ʹuʻiddat
is prepared
لِلۡكَٰفِرِينَ
lilkaafireen.
for the disbelievers
١٣١
3:132
وَأَطِيعُواْ
Wa-ʹaṭeeʻul
And obey
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
وَٱلرَّسُولَ
war-Rasoola
and the Messenger
لَعَلَّكُمۡ
laʻallakum
so that you may
تُرۡحَمُونَ
turḥamoon.
receive mercy

Page 67
3:133
۞وَسَارِعُوٓاْ
Wa-saariʻooo
And hasten
إِلَىٰ
ʹilaa
to
مَغۡفِرَةٖ
mag̣firatim
forgiveness
مِّن
mir
from
رَّبِّكُمۡ
Rabbikum
your Lord
وَجَنَّةٍ
wa-Jannatin
and a Garden
عَرۡضُهَا
ʻarḍuhas
its width
ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتُ
samaawaatu
(is like that of) the heavens
وَٱلۡأَرۡضُ
wal-ʹarḍu
and the earth
أُعِدَّتۡ
ʹuʻiddat
prepared
لِلۡمُتَّقِينَ
lil-Muttaq̣een
for the pious
١٣٣
3:134
ٱلَّذِينَ
ʹAllaẓeena
Those who
يُنفِقُونَ
yunfiq̣oona
spend
فِي
fis
in
ٱلسَّرَّآءِ
sarraaaʹi
[the] ease
وَٱلضَّرَّآءِ
waḍ-ḍarraaaʹi
and (in) the hardship
وَٱلۡكَٰظِمِينَ
wal-kaa-Z̤̣imeenal
and those who restrain
ٱلۡغَيۡظَ
g̣ayz̤̣a
the anger
وَٱلۡعَافِينَ
wal-ʻaafeena
and those who pardon
عَنِ
ʻanin
[from]
ٱلنَّاسِۗ
naas:
the people
وَٱللَّهُ
wal-laahu
and Allah
يُحِبُّ
yuḥibbul
loves
ٱلۡمُحۡسِنِينَ
Muḥsineen;
the good-doers
١٣٤
3:135
وَٱلَّذِينَ
Wal-laẓeena
And those
إِذَا
ʹiẓaa
when
فَعَلُواْ
faʻaloo
they did
فَٰحِشَةً
faa-ḥishatan
immorality
أَوۡ
ʹaw
or
ظَلَمُوٓاْ
z̤̣alamooo
wronged
أَنفُسَهُمۡ
ʹañfusahum
themselves
ذَكَرُواْ
ẓakarul
they remember
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
فَٱسۡتَغۡفَرُواْ
fastag̣faroo
then ask forgiveness
لِذُنُوبِهِمۡ
liẓunoobihim,
for their sins
وَمَن
Wa-mañy
and who
يَغۡفِرُ
yag̣firuẓ
(can) forgive
ٱلذُّنُوبَ
ẓunooba
the sins
إِلَّا
ʹillal
except
ٱللَّهُ
laah?
Allah
وَلَمۡ
wa-lam
And not
يُصِرُّواْ
yuṣirroo
they persist
عَلَىٰ
ʻalaa
on
مَا
maa-
what
فَعَلُواْ
faʻaloo
they did
وَهُمۡ
wa-hum
while they
يَعۡلَمُونَ
yaʻlamoon.
know
١٣٥
3:136
أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ
ʹUlaaaʹika
Those
جَزَآؤُهُم
Jazaaʹuhum
their reward
مَّغۡفِرَةٞ
mag̣firatum
(is) forgiveness
مِّن
mir
from
رَّبِّهِمۡ
Rabbihim
their Lord
وَجَنَّٰتٞ
wa-jannaatuñ
and Gardens
تَجۡرِي
tajree
flows
مِن
miñ
from
تَحۡتِهَا
tah-tihal
underneath it
ٱلۡأَنۡهَٰرُ
ʹanhaaru
the rivers
خَٰلِدِينَ
khaalideena
abiding forever
فِيهَاۚ
feehaa:
in it
وَنِعۡمَ
wa-niʻma
And an excellent
أَجۡرُ
ʹajrul
reward
ٱلۡعَٰمِلِينَ
ʻaamileen!
(for) the (righteous) workers
١٣٦
3:137
قَدۡ
Q̣ad
Verily
خَلَتۡ
khalat
passed
مِن
miñ
from
قَبۡلِكُمۡ
q̣ablikum
before you
سُنَنٞ
Sunanuñ
situations
فَسِيرُواْ
faseeroo
then travel
فِي
fil
in
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ
ʹarḍi
the earth
فَٱنظُرُواْ
fañz̤̣uroo
and see
كَيۡفَ
kayfa
how
كَانَ
kaana
was
عَٰقِبَةُ
ʻaaq̣ibatul
(the) end
ٱلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ
mukaẓẓibeen.
(of) the deniers
١٣٧
3:138
هَٰذَا
Haaẓaa
This
بَيَانٞ
bayaanul
(is) a declaration
لِّلنَّاسِ
linnasi
for the people
وَهُدٗى
wa-hudañw
and guidance
وَمَوۡعِظَةٞ
wamawʻiz̤̣atul
and admonition
لِّلۡمُتَّقِينَ
lil-muttaq̣een.
for the God-fearing
١٣٨
3:139
وَلَا
Wa-laa
And (do) not
تَهِنُواْ
tahinoo
weaken
وَلَا
wa-laa
and (do) not
تَحۡزَنُواْ
tahẓanoo
grieve
وَأَنتُمُ
wa-ʹañtumul
and you (will be)
ٱلۡأَعۡلَوۡنَ
ʹaʻlawna
[the] superior
إِن
ʹiñ
if
كُنتُم
kuñtum
you are
مُّؤۡمِنِينَ
Muʹmineen!
believers
١٣٩
3:140
إِن
ʹIñy
If
يَمۡسَسۡكُمۡ
yamsaskum
touched you
قَرۡحٞ
q̣arḥuñ
a wound
فَقَدۡ
faq̣ad
so certainly
مَسَّ
massal
(has) touched
ٱلۡقَوۡمَ
q̣awma
the people
قَرۡحٞ
q̣arḥum
wound
مِّثۡلُهُۥۚ
mis̤luh.
like it
وَتِلۡكَ
Wa-tilkal
And this
ٱلۡأَيَّامُ
ʹayyaamu
[the] days
نُدَاوِلُهَا
nudaawiluhaa
We alternate them
بَيۡنَ
baynan
among
ٱلنَّاسِ
naas:
the people
وَلِيَعۡلَمَ
wa-liyaʻlamal
[and] so that makes evident
ٱللَّهُ
laahul
Allah
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those who
ءَامَنُواْ
ʹaamanoo
believe[d]
وَيَتَّخِذَ
wa-yattakhiẓa
and take
مِنكُمۡ
miñkum
from you
شُهَدَآءَۗ
shuhadaaaʹ.
martyrs
وَٱللَّهُ
Wal-laahu
And Allah
لَا
laa-
(does) not
يُحِبُّ
yu-ḥibbuz̤̣
love
ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
Z̤̣aalimeen.
the wrongdoers
١٤٠
Page 68
3:141
وَلِيُمَحِّصَ
Wa-liyumaḥ-ḥiṣal
And so that may purify
ٱللَّهُ
laahul
Allah
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those who
ءَامَنُواْ
ʹaamanoo
believe
وَيَمۡحَقَ
wa-yamḥaq̣al
and destroy
ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ
kaafireen.
the disbelievers
١٤١
3:142
أَمۡ
ʹAm
Or
حَسِبۡتُمۡ
ḥasibtum
do you think
أَن
ʹañ
that
تَدۡخُلُواْ
tadkhulul
you will enter
ٱلۡجَنَّةَ
Jannata
Paradise
وَلَمَّا
wa-lamma
while has not yet
يَعۡلَمِ
yaʻlamil
made evident
ٱللَّهُ
laahul
Allah
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those who
جَٰهَدُواْ
jaahadoo
strove hard
مِنكُمۡ
miñkum
among you
وَيَعۡلَمَ
wa-yaʻlamaṣ
and made evident
ٱلصَّٰبِرِينَ
Ṣaabireen?
the steadfast
١٤٢
3:143
وَلَقَدۡ
Wa-laq̣ad
And certainly
كُنتُمۡ
kuñtum
you used to
تَمَنَّوۡنَ
tamannawnal
wish
ٱلۡمَوۡتَ
mawta
(for) death
مِن
miñ
from
قَبۡلِ
q̣abli
before
أَن
ʻañ
[that]
تَلۡقَوۡهُ
tal-q̣awh:
you met it
فَقَدۡ
faq̣ad
then indeed
رَأَيۡتُمُوهُ
raʹaytumoohu
you have seen it
وَأَنتُمۡ
wa-ʹañtum
while you (were)
تَنظُرُونَ
tañz̤̣uroon.
looking on
١٤٣
3:144
وَمَا
Wa-maa
And not
مُحَمَّدٌ
Muḥammadun
(is) Muhammad
إِلَّا
ʹillaa
except
رَسُولٞ
Rasool:
a Messenger
قَدۡ
q̣ad
certainly
خَلَتۡ
khalat
passed away
مِن
miñ
from
قَبۡلِهِ
q̣ablihir
before him
ٱلرُّسُلُۚ
rusul.
[the] (other) Messengers
أَفَإِيْن
ʹAfaʹim
So if
مَّاتَ
maata
he died
أَوۡ
ʹaw
or
قُتِلَ
q̣utilañ
is slain
ٱنقَلَبۡتُمۡ
q̣alabtum
will you turn back
عَلَىٰٓ
ʻalaaa
on
أَعۡقَٰبِكُمۡۚ
ʹaʻq̣aabikum?
your heels
وَمَن
Wa-many
And whoever
يَنقَلِبۡ
yañq̣alib
turns back
عَلَىٰ
ʻalaa
on
عَقِبَيۡهِ
ʻaq̣ibayhi
his heels
فَلَن
falañy
then never
يَضُرَّ
yaḍurral
will he harm
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
شَيۡـٔٗاۚ
shayʹaa;
(in) anything
وَسَيَجۡزِي
wa-sayajzil
And will reward
ٱللَّهُ
laahush
Allah
ٱلشَّٰكِرِينَ
Shaakireen.
the grateful ones
١٤٤
3:145
وَمَا
Wa-maa
And not
كَانَ
kaana
is
لِنَفۡسٍ
linafsin
for a soul
أَن
ʹañ
that
تَمُوتَ
tamoota
he dies
إِلَّا
illaa
except
بِإِذۡنِ
biʹiẓnil
by (the) permission
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
(of) Allah
كِتَٰبٗا
kitaabam
(at a) decree
مُّؤَجَّلٗاۗ
muʹajjalaa.
determined
وَمَن
Wa-mañy
And whoever
يُرِدۡ
yurid
desires
ثَوَابَ
s̤awaabad
reward
ٱلدُّنۡيَا
dunyaa
(of) the world
نُؤۡتِهِۦ
nuʹtihee
We will give him
مِنۡهَا
minhaa;
thereof
وَمَن
wa-mañy
and whoever
يُرِدۡ
yurid
desires
ثَوَابَ
s̤awaabal
reward
ٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ
ʹAakhirati
(of) the Hereafter
نُؤۡتِهِۦ
nuʹtihee
We will give him
مِنۡهَاۚ
minhaa
thereof
وَسَنَجۡزِي
Wa-sanaj-zish
And We will reward
ٱلشَّٰكِرِينَ
Shaakireen.
the grateful ones
١٤٥
3:146
وَكَأَيِّن
Wakaʹayyim
And how many
مِّن
min
from
نَّبِيّٖ
nabyyiñ
a Prophet
قَٰتَلَ
q̣aatala
fought
مَعَهُۥ
maʻahoo
with him
رِبِّيُّونَ
Ribbiyyoona
(were) religious scholars
كَثِيرٞ
kaseer?
many
فَمَا
Famaa
But not
وَهَنُواْ
wahanoo
they lost heart
لِمَآ
limaaa
for what
أَصَابَهُمۡ
ʹaṣaabahum
befell them
فِي
fee
in
سَبِيلِ
Sabeelil
(the) way
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
(of) Allah
وَمَا
wa-maa
and not
ضَعُفُواْ
ḍaʻufoo
they weakened
وَمَا
wa-mas
and not
ٱسۡتَكَانُواْۗ
takaanoo.
they gave in
وَٱللَّهُ
Wallaahu
And Allah
يُحِبُّ
yuḥibbuṣ
loves
ٱلصَّٰبِرِينَ
Ṣaabireen.
the patient ones
١٤٦
3:147
وَمَا
Wa-maa
And not
كَانَ
kaana
were
قَوۡلَهُمۡ
q̣awlahum
their words
إِلَّآ
ʹillaaa
except
أَن
ʹañ
that
قَالُواْ
q̣aaloo
they said
رَبَّنَا
Rabbanag̣
Our Lord
ٱغۡفِرۡ
fir
forgive
لَنَا
lanaa
for us
ذُنُوبَنَا
ẓunoobanaa
our sins
وَإِسۡرَافَنَا
wa-ʹisraafanaa
and our excesses
فِيٓ
feee
in
أَمۡرِنَا
ʹamrinaa
our affairs
وَثَبِّتۡ
was̤abbit
and make firm
أَقۡدَامَنَا
ʹaq̣daamanaa
our feet
وَٱنصُرۡنَا
wañṣurnaa
and give us victory
عَلَى
ʻalal
over
ٱلۡقَوۡمِ
q̣awmil
[the people]
ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ
kaafireen.
the disbelievers
١٤٧
3:148
فَـَٔاتَىٰهُمُ
Faʹaataahumul
So gave them
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah
ثَوَابَ
s̤awaabad
reward
ٱلدُّنۡيَا
dunyaa
(in) the world
وَحُسۡنَ
waḥusna
and good
ثَوَابِ
s̤awaabil
reward
ٱلۡأٓخِرَةِۗ
ʹAakhirah:
(in) the Hereafter
وَٱللَّهُ
Wal-laahu
And Allah
يُحِبُّ
yuḥibbul
loves
ٱلۡمُحۡسِنِينَ
Muhsineen.
the good-doers
١٤٨

3:149
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
Yaaaʹayyuhal
O you
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
who
ءَامَنُوٓاْ
ʹaamanoo
believe
إِن
ʹiñ
If
تُطِيعُواْ
tuṭeeʻul
you obey
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those who
كَفَرُواْ
kafaroo
disbelieve
يَرُدُّوكُمۡ
yaruddookum
they will turn you back
عَلَىٰٓ
ʻalaaa
on
أَعۡقَٰبِكُمۡ
ʹaʻq̣aaabikum
your heels
فَتَنقَلِبُواْ
fatañq̣aliboo
then you will turn back
خَٰسِرِينَ
khaasireen.
(as) losers
١٤٩
3:150
بَلِ
Balil
Nay
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah
مَوۡلَىٰكُمۡۖ
maw-laakum,
(is) your Protector
وَهُوَ
wa-Huwa
and He
خَيۡرُ
Khayrun
(is the) best
ٱلنَّٰصِرِينَ
naaṣireen.
(of) the Helpers
