Wa-maa
And not
جَعَلَهُ
jaʻalahul
made it
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah
إِلَّا
ʹillaa
except
بُشۡرَىٰ
bushraa
(as) good news
لَكُمۡ
lakum
for you
وَلِتَطۡمَئِنَّ
wa-litaṭmaʹinna
and to reassure
قُلُوبُكُم
q̣uloobukum̃
your hearts
بِهِۦۗ
bih:
with it
وَمَا
wa-man
And (there is) no
ٱلنَّصۡرُ
naṣru
[the] victory
إِلَّا
ʹillaa
except
مِنۡ
min
from
عِندِ
ʻiñdi
[near]
ٱللَّهِ
laahil
Allah
ٱلۡعَزِيزِ
ʻAzeezil
the All-Mighty
ٱلۡحَكِيمِ
Ḥakeem:
the All-Wise
١٢٦
3:127
لِيَقۡطَعَ
Liyaq̣ṭaʻa
That He may cut off
طَرَفٗا
ṭarafam
a part
مِّنَ
minal
of
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those who
كَفَرُوٓاْ
kafarooo
disbelieved
أَوۡ
ʹaw
or
يَكۡبِتَهُمۡ
yakbitahum
suppress them
فَيَنقَلِبُواْ
fayañq̣aliboo
so (that) they turn back
خَآئِبِينَ
khaaaʹibeen.
disappointed
١٢٧
3:128
لَيۡسَ
Laysa
Not
لَكَ
laka
for you
مِنَ
minal
of
ٱلۡأَمۡرِ
ʹamri
the decision
شَيۡءٌ
shayʹun
(of) anything
أَوۡ
ʹaw
whether
يَتُوبَ
yatooba
He turns
عَلَيۡهِمۡ
ʻalayhim
to them
أَوۡ
ʹaw
or
يُعَذِّبَهُمۡ
yuʻaẓẓibahum
punishes them
فَإِنَّهُمۡ
faʹinnahum
for indeed they
ظَٰلِمُونَ
Z̤̣aalimoon.
(are) wrongdoers
١٢٨
3:129
وَلِلَّهِ
Walillaahi
And to Allah (belongs)
مَا
maa-
what
فِي
fis
(is) in
ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ
samaawaati
the heavens
وَمَا
wa-maa
and what
فِي
fil
(is) in
ٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ
ʹarḍ.
the earth
يَغۡفِرُ
Yag̣firu
He forgives
لِمَن
limañy
[for] whom
يَشَآءُ
yashaaaʹu
He wills
وَيُعَذِّبُ
wa-yuʻaẓẓibu
and punishes
مَن
mañy
whom
يَشَآءُۚ
yashaaaʹ:
He wills
وَٱللَّهُ
wallaahu
And Allah
غَفُورٞ
G̣afoorur
(is) Oft-Forgiving
رَّحِيمٞ
Raheem.
Most Merciful
١٢٩
3:130
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
Yaaaʹayyuhal
O you
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
who
ءَامَنُواْ
ʹaamanoo
believe
لَا
laa-
(Do) not
تَأۡكُلُواْ
taʹkulur
eat
ٱلرِّبَوٰٓاْ
Ribaaa
the usury
أَضۡعَٰفٗا
ʹaḍʻaafam
doubled
مُّضَٰعَفَةٗۖ
muḍaaʻafah ;
multiplied
وَٱتَّقُواْ
wattaq̣ul
And fear
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
لَعَلَّكُمۡ
laʻallakum
so that you may
تُفۡلِحُونَ
tufliḥoon.
(be) successful
١٣٠
3:131
وَٱتَّقُواْ
Wattaq̣un
And fear
ٱلنَّارَ
Naaral
the Fire
ٱلَّتِيٓ
lateee
which
أُعِدَّتۡ
ʹuʻiddat
is prepared
لِلۡكَٰفِرِينَ
lilkaafireen.
for the disbelievers
١٣١
3:132
وَأَطِيعُواْ
Wa-ʹaṭeeʻul
And obey
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
وَٱلرَّسُولَ
war-Rasoola
and the Messenger
لَعَلَّكُمۡ
laʻallakum
so that you may
تُرۡحَمُونَ
turḥamoon.
receive mercy
١٣٢
Page 67
3:133
۞وَسَارِعُوٓاْ
Wa-saariʻooo
And hasten
إِلَىٰ
ʹilaa
to
مَغۡفِرَةٖ
mag̣firatim
forgiveness
مِّن
mir
from
رَّبِّكُمۡ
Rabbikum
your Lord
وَجَنَّةٍ
wa-Jannatin
and a Garden
عَرۡضُهَا
ʻarḍuhas
its width
ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتُ
samaawaatu
(is like that of) the heavens
وَٱلۡأَرۡضُ
wal-ʹarḍu
and the earth
أُعِدَّتۡ
ʹuʻiddat
prepared
لِلۡمُتَّقِينَ
lil-Muttaq̣een
for the pious
١٣٣
3:134
ٱلَّذِينَ
ʹAllaẓeena
Those who
يُنفِقُونَ
yunfiq̣oona
spend
فِي
fis
in
ٱلسَّرَّآءِ
sarraaaʹi
[the] ease
وَٱلضَّرَّآءِ
waḍ-ḍarraaaʹi
and (in) the hardship
وَٱلۡكَٰظِمِينَ
wal-kaa-Z̤̣imeenal
and those who restrain
ٱلۡغَيۡظَ
g̣ayz̤̣a
the anger
وَٱلۡعَافِينَ
wal-ʻaafeena
and those who pardon
عَنِ
ʻanin
[from]
ٱلنَّاسِۗ
naas:
the people
وَٱللَّهُ
wal-laahu
and Allah
يُحِبُّ
yuḥibbul
loves
ٱلۡمُحۡسِنِينَ
Muḥsineen;
the good-doers
١٣٤
3:135
وَٱلَّذِينَ
Wal-laẓeena
And those
إِذَا
ʹiẓaa
when
فَعَلُواْ
faʻaloo
they did
فَٰحِشَةً
faa-ḥishatan
immorality
أَوۡ
ʹaw
or
ظَلَمُوٓاْ
z̤̣alamooo
wronged
أَنفُسَهُمۡ
ʹañfusahum
themselves
ذَكَرُواْ
ẓakarul
they remember
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
فَٱسۡتَغۡفَرُواْ
fastag̣faroo
then ask forgiveness
لِذُنُوبِهِمۡ
liẓunoobihim,
for their sins
وَمَن
Wa-mañy
and who
يَغۡفِرُ
yag̣firuẓ
(can) forgive
ٱلذُّنُوبَ
ẓunooba
the sins
إِلَّا
ʹillal
except
ٱللَّهُ
laah?
Allah
وَلَمۡ
wa-lam
And not
يُصِرُّواْ
yuṣirroo
they persist
عَلَىٰ
ʻalaa
on
مَا
maa-
what
فَعَلُواْ
faʻaloo
they did
وَهُمۡ
wa-hum
while they
يَعۡلَمُونَ
yaʻlamoon.
know
١٣٥
3:136
أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ
ʹUlaaaʹika
Those
جَزَآؤُهُم
Jazaaʹuhum
their reward
مَّغۡفِرَةٞ
mag̣firatum
(is) forgiveness
مِّن
mir
from
رَّبِّهِمۡ
Rabbihim
their Lord
وَجَنَّٰتٞ
wa-jannaatuñ
and Gardens
تَجۡرِي
tajree
flows
مِن
miñ
from
تَحۡتِهَا
tah-tihal
underneath it
ٱلۡأَنۡهَٰرُ
ʹanhaaru
the rivers
خَٰلِدِينَ
khaalideena
abiding forever
فِيهَاۚ
feehaa:
in it
وَنِعۡمَ
wa-niʻma
And an excellent
أَجۡرُ
ʹajrul
reward
ٱلۡعَٰمِلِينَ
ʻaamileen!
(for) the (righteous) workers
١٣٦
3:137
قَدۡ
Q̣ad
Verily
خَلَتۡ
khalat
passed
مِن
miñ
from
قَبۡلِكُمۡ
q̣ablikum
before you
سُنَنٞ
Sunanuñ
situations
فَسِيرُواْ
faseeroo
then travel
فِي
fil
in
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ
ʹarḍi
the earth
فَٱنظُرُواْ
fañz̤̣uroo
and see
كَيۡفَ
kayfa
how
كَانَ
kaana
was
عَٰقِبَةُ
ʻaaq̣ibatul
(the) end
ٱلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ
mukaẓẓibeen.
(of) the deniers
١٣٧
3:138
هَٰذَا
Haaẓaa
This
بَيَانٞ
bayaanul
(is) a declaration
لِّلنَّاسِ
linnasi
for the people
وَهُدٗى
wa-hudañw
and guidance
وَمَوۡعِظَةٞ
wamawʻiz̤̣atul
and admonition
لِّلۡمُتَّقِينَ
lil-muttaq̣een.
for the God-fearing
١٣٨
3:139
وَلَا
Wa-laa
And (do) not
تَهِنُواْ
tahinoo
weaken
وَلَا
wa-laa
and (do) not
تَحۡزَنُواْ
tahẓanoo
grieve
وَأَنتُمُ
wa-ʹañtumul
and you (will be)
ٱلۡأَعۡلَوۡنَ
ʹaʻlawna
[the] superior
إِن
ʹiñ
if
كُنتُم
kuñtum
you are
مُّؤۡمِنِينَ
Muʹmineen!
believers
١٣٩
3:140
إِن
ʹIñy
If
يَمۡسَسۡكُمۡ
yamsaskum
touched you
قَرۡحٞ
q̣arḥuñ
a wound
فَقَدۡ
faq̣ad
so certainly
مَسَّ
massal
(has) touched
ٱلۡقَوۡمَ
q̣awma
the people
قَرۡحٞ
q̣arḥum
wound
مِّثۡلُهُۥۚ
mis̤luh.
like it
وَتِلۡكَ
Wa-tilkal
And this
ٱلۡأَيَّامُ
ʹayyaamu
[the] days
نُدَاوِلُهَا
nudaawiluhaa
We alternate them
بَيۡنَ
baynan
among
ٱلنَّاسِ
naas:
the people
وَلِيَعۡلَمَ
wa-liyaʻlamal
[and] so that makes evident
ٱللَّهُ
laahul
Allah
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those who
ءَامَنُواْ
ʹaamanoo
believe[d]
وَيَتَّخِذَ
wa-yattakhiẓa
and take
مِنكُمۡ
miñkum
from you
شُهَدَآءَۗ
shuhadaaaʹ.
martyrs
وَٱللَّهُ
Wal-laahu
And Allah
لَا
laa-
(does) not
يُحِبُّ
yu-ḥibbuz̤̣
love
ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
Z̤̣aalimeen.
the wrongdoers
١٤٠
Page 68
3:141
وَلِيُمَحِّصَ
Wa-liyumaḥ-ḥiṣal
And so that may purify
ٱللَّهُ
laahul
Allah
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those who
ءَامَنُواْ
ʹaamanoo
believe
وَيَمۡحَقَ
wa-yamḥaq̣al
and destroy
ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ
kaafireen.
the disbelievers
١٤١
3:142
أَمۡ
ʹAm
Or
حَسِبۡتُمۡ
ḥasibtum
do you think
أَن
ʹañ
that
تَدۡخُلُواْ
tadkhulul
you will enter
ٱلۡجَنَّةَ
Jannata
Paradise
وَلَمَّا
wa-lamma
while has not yet
يَعۡلَمِ
yaʻlamil
made evident
ٱللَّهُ
laahul
Allah
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those who
جَٰهَدُواْ
jaahadoo
strove hard
مِنكُمۡ
miñkum
among you
وَيَعۡلَمَ
wa-yaʻlamaṣ
and made evident
ٱلصَّٰبِرِينَ
Ṣaabireen?
the steadfast
١٤٢
3:143
وَلَقَدۡ
Wa-laq̣ad
And certainly
كُنتُمۡ
kuñtum
you used to
تَمَنَّوۡنَ
tamannawnal
wish
ٱلۡمَوۡتَ
mawta
(for) death
مِن
miñ
from
قَبۡلِ
q̣abli
before
أَن
ʻañ
[that]
تَلۡقَوۡهُ
tal-q̣awh:
you met it
فَقَدۡ
faq̣ad
then indeed
رَأَيۡتُمُوهُ
raʹaytumoohu
you have seen it
وَأَنتُمۡ
wa-ʹañtum
while you (were)
تَنظُرُونَ
tañz̤̣uroon.
looking on
١٤٣
3:144
وَمَا
Wa-maa
And not
مُحَمَّدٌ
Muḥammadun
(is) Muhammad
إِلَّا
ʹillaa
except
رَسُولٞ
Rasool:
a Messenger
قَدۡ
q̣ad
certainly
خَلَتۡ
khalat
passed away
مِن
miñ
from
قَبۡلِهِ
q̣ablihir
before him
ٱلرُّسُلُۚ
rusul.
[the] (other) Messengers
أَفَإِيْن
ʹAfaʹim
So if
مَّاتَ
maata
he died
أَوۡ
ʹaw
or
قُتِلَ
q̣utilañ
is slain
ٱنقَلَبۡتُمۡ
q̣alabtum
will you turn back
عَلَىٰٓ
ʻalaaa
on
أَعۡقَٰبِكُمۡۚ
ʹaʻq̣aabikum?
your heels
وَمَن
Wa-many
And whoever
يَنقَلِبۡ
yañq̣alib
turns back
عَلَىٰ
ʻalaa
on
عَقِبَيۡهِ
ʻaq̣ibayhi
his heels
فَلَن
falañy
then never
يَضُرَّ
yaḍurral
will he harm
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
شَيۡـٔٗاۚ
shayʹaa;
(in) anything
وَسَيَجۡزِي
wa-sayajzil
And will reward
ٱللَّهُ
laahush
Allah
ٱلشَّٰكِرِينَ
Shaakireen.
the grateful ones
١٤٤
3:145
وَمَا
Wa-maa
And not
كَانَ
kaana
is
لِنَفۡسٍ
linafsin
for a soul
أَن
ʹañ
that
تَمُوتَ
tamoota
he dies
إِلَّا
illaa
except
بِإِذۡنِ
biʹiẓnil
by (the) permission
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
(of) Allah
كِتَٰبٗا
kitaabam
(at a) decree
مُّؤَجَّلٗاۗ
muʹajjalaa.
determined
وَمَن
Wa-mañy
And whoever
يُرِدۡ
yurid
desires
ثَوَابَ
s̤awaabad
reward
ٱلدُّنۡيَا
dunyaa
(of) the world
نُؤۡتِهِۦ
nuʹtihee
We will give him
مِنۡهَا
minhaa;
thereof
وَمَن
wa-mañy
and whoever
يُرِدۡ
yurid
desires
ثَوَابَ
s̤awaabal
reward
ٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ
ʹAakhirati
(of) the Hereafter
نُؤۡتِهِۦ
nuʹtihee
We will give him
مِنۡهَاۚ
minhaa
thereof
وَسَنَجۡزِي
Wa-sanaj-zish
And We will reward
ٱلشَّٰكِرِينَ
Shaakireen.
the grateful ones
١٤٥
3:146
وَكَأَيِّن
Wakaʹayyim
And how many
مِّن
min
from
نَّبِيّٖ
nabyyiñ
a Prophet
قَٰتَلَ
q̣aatala
fought
مَعَهُۥ
maʻahoo
with him
رِبِّيُّونَ
Ribbiyyoona
(were) religious scholars
كَثِيرٞ
kaseer?
many
فَمَا
Famaa
But not
وَهَنُواْ
wahanoo
they lost heart
لِمَآ
limaaa
for what
أَصَابَهُمۡ
ʹaṣaabahum
befell them
فِي
fee
in
سَبِيلِ
Sabeelil
(the) way
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
(of) Allah
وَمَا
wa-maa
and not
ضَعُفُواْ
ḍaʻufoo
they weakened
وَمَا
wa-mas
and not
ٱسۡتَكَانُواْۗ
takaanoo.
they gave in
وَٱللَّهُ
Wallaahu
And Allah
يُحِبُّ
yuḥibbuṣ
loves
ٱلصَّٰبِرِينَ
Ṣaabireen.
the patient ones
١٤٦
3:147
وَمَا
Wa-maa
And not
كَانَ
kaana
were
قَوۡلَهُمۡ
q̣awlahum
their words
إِلَّآ
ʹillaaa
except
أَن
ʹañ
that
قَالُواْ
q̣aaloo
they said
رَبَّنَا
Rabbanag̣
Our Lord
ٱغۡفِرۡ
fir
forgive
لَنَا
lanaa
for us
ذُنُوبَنَا
ẓunoobanaa
our sins
وَإِسۡرَافَنَا
wa-ʹisraafanaa
and our excesses
فِيٓ
feee
in
أَمۡرِنَا
ʹamrinaa
our affairs
وَثَبِّتۡ
was̤abbit
and make firm
أَقۡدَامَنَا
ʹaq̣daamanaa
our feet
وَٱنصُرۡنَا
wañṣurnaa
and give us victory
عَلَى
ʻalal
over
ٱلۡقَوۡمِ
q̣awmil
[the people]
ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ
kaafireen.
the disbelievers
١٤٧
3:148
فَـَٔاتَىٰهُمُ
Faʹaataahumul
So gave them
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah
ثَوَابَ
s̤awaabad
reward
ٱلدُّنۡيَا
dunyaa
(in) the world
وَحُسۡنَ
waḥusna
and good
ثَوَابِ
s̤awaabil
reward
ٱلۡأٓخِرَةِۗ
ʹAakhirah:
(in) the Hereafter
وَٱللَّهُ
Wal-laahu
And Allah
يُحِبُّ
yuḥibbul
loves
ٱلۡمُحۡسِنِينَ
Muhsineen.
the good-doers
١٤٨

3:149
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
Yaaaʹayyuhal
O you
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
who
ءَامَنُوٓاْ
ʹaamanoo
believe
إِن
ʹiñ
If
تُطِيعُواْ
tuṭeeʻul
you obey
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those who
كَفَرُواْ
kafaroo
disbelieve
يَرُدُّوكُمۡ
yaruddookum
they will turn you back
عَلَىٰٓ
ʻalaaa
on
أَعۡقَٰبِكُمۡ
ʹaʻq̣aaabikum
your heels
فَتَنقَلِبُواْ
fatañq̣aliboo
then you will turn back
خَٰسِرِينَ
khaasireen.
(as) losers
١٤٩
3:150
بَلِ
Balil
Nay
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah
مَوۡلَىٰكُمۡۖ
maw-laakum,
(is) your Protector
وَهُوَ
wa-Huwa
and He
خَيۡرُ
Khayrun
(is the) best
ٱلنَّٰصِرِينَ
naaṣireen.
(of) the Helpers
