29:2أَحَسِبَahasibaDo thinkٱلنَّاسُal-nasuthe peopleأَنanthatيُتۡرَكُوٓاْyut'rakuthey will be leftأَنanbecauseيَقُولُوٓاْyaquluthey sayءَامَنَّاamannaWe believeوَهُمۡwahumand theyلَاlawill not be testedيُفۡتَنُونَyuf'tanunawill not be tested٢
29:3وَلَقَدۡwalaqadAnd indeedفَتَنَّاfatannaWe testedٱلَّذِينَalladhinathose whoمِنmin(were) before themقَبۡلِهِمۡۖqablihim(were) before themفَلَيَعۡلَمَنَّfalaya'lamannaAnd Allah will surely make evidentٱللَّهُal-lahuAnd Allah will surely make evidentٱلَّذِينَalladhinathose whoصَدَقُواْsadaqu(are) truthfulوَلَيَعۡلَمَنَّwalaya'lamannaand He will surely make evidentٱلۡكَٰذِبِينَal-kadhibinathe liars٣
29:4أَمۡamOrحَسِبَhasibathinkٱلَّذِينَalladhinathose whoيَعۡمَلُونَya'malunadoٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِal-sayiatievil deedsأَنanthatيَسۡبِقُونَاۚyasbiqunathey can outrun UsسَآءَsaaEvil isمَاmawhatيَحۡكُمُونَyahkumunathey judge٤
29:5مَنmanWhoeverكَانَkana[is]يَرۡجُواْyarjuhopesلِقَآءَliqaa(for the) meetingٱللَّهِal-lahi(with) Allahفَإِنَّfa-innathen indeedأَجَلَajala(the) Termٱللَّهِal-lahi(of) Allahلَأٓتٖۚlaatin(is) surely comingوَهُوَwahuwaAnd Heٱلسَّمِيعُal-sami'u(is) the All-Hearerٱلۡعَلِيمُal-'alimuthe All-Knower٥
29:6وَمَنwamanAnd whoeverجَٰهَدَjahadastrivesفَإِنَّمَاfa-innamathen onlyيُجَٰهِدُyujahiduhe strivesلِنَفۡسِهِۦٓۚlinafsihifor himselfإِنَّinnaIndeedٱللَّهَal-lahaAllahلَغَنِيٌّlaghaniyyun(is) Free from needعَنِaniofٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَal-'alaminathe worlds٦
29:7وَٱلَّذِينَwa-alladhinaAnd those whoءَامَنُواْamanubelieveوَعَمِلُواْwa'amiluand doٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِal-salihatirighteous (deeds)لَنُكَفِّرَنَّlanukaffirannasurely We will removeعَنۡهُمۡanhumfrom themسَيِّـَٔاتِهِمۡsayyiatihimtheir evil deedsوَلَنَجۡزِيَنَّهُمۡwalanajziyannahumand We will surely reward themأَحۡسَنَahsana(the) bestٱلَّذِيalladhi(of) whatكَانُواْkanuthey usedيَعۡمَلُونَya'maluna(to) do٧
29:8وَوَصَّيۡنَاwawassaynaAnd We have enjoinedٱلۡإِنسَٰنَal-insana(on) manبِوَٰلِدَيۡهِbiwalidayhigoodness to his parentsحُسۡنٗاۖhus'nangoodness to his parentsوَإِنwa-inbut ifجَٰهَدَاكَjahadakathey both strive against youلِتُشۡرِكَlitush'rikato make you associateبِيbiwith Meمَاmawhatلَيۡسَlaysanotلَكَlakayou haveبِهِۦbihiof itعِلۡمٞil'munany knowledgeفَلَاfalathen (do) notتُطِعۡهُمَآۚtuti'humaobey both of themإِلَيَّilayyaTo Meمَرۡجِعُكُمۡmarji'ukum(is) your returnفَأُنَبِّئُكُمfa-unabbi-ukumand I will inform youبِمَاbimaabout whatكُنتُمۡkuntumyou usedتَعۡمَلُونَta'maluna(to) do٨
29:9وَٱلَّذِينَwa-alladhinaAnd those whoءَامَنُواْamanubelieveوَعَمِلُواْwa'amiluand doٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِal-salihatirighteous deedsلَنُدۡخِلَنَّهُمۡlanud'khilannahumWe will surely admit themفِيfiamongٱلصَّٰلِحِينَal-salihinathe righteous٩
29:10وَمِنَwaminaAnd ofٱلنَّاسِal-nasithe peopleمَنman(is he) whoيَقُولُyaqulusaysءَامَنَّاamannaWe believeبِٱللَّهِbil-lahiin Allahفَإِذَآfa-idhaBut whenأُوذِيَudhiyahe is harmedفِيfiinٱللَّهِal-lahi(the Way of) Allahجَعَلَja'alahe considersفِتۡنَةَfit'nata(the) trialٱلنَّاسِal-nasi(of) the peopleكَعَذَابِka'adhabias (the) punishmentٱللَّهِۖal-lahi(of) Allahوَلَئِنwala-inBut ifجَآءَjaacomesنَصۡرٞnasrunvictoryمِّنminfromرَّبِّكَrabbikayour Lordلَيَقُولُنَّlayaqulunnasurely they sayإِنَّاinnaIndeed weكُنَّاkunnawereمَعَكُمۡۚma'akumwith youأَوَلَيۡسَawalaysaIs notٱللَّهُal-lahuAllahبِأَعۡلَمَbi-a'lamamost knowingبِمَاbimaof whatفِيfi(is) inصُدُورِsuduri(the) breastsٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَal-'alamina(of) the worlds١٠
29:11وَلَيَعۡلَمَنَّwalaya'lamannaAnd Allah will surely make evidentٱللَّهُal-lahuAnd Allah will surely make evidentٱلَّذِينَalladhinathose whoءَامَنُواْamanubelieveوَلَيَعۡلَمَنَّwalaya'lamannaAnd He will surely make evidentٱلۡمُنَٰفِقِينَal-munafiqinathe hypocrites١١
29:12وَقَالَwaqalaAnd saidٱلَّذِينَalladhinathose whoكَفَرُواْkafarudisbelieveلِلَّذِينَlilladhinato those whoءَامَنُواْamanubelieveٱتَّبِعُواْittabi'uFollowسَبِيلَنَاsabilanaour wayوَلۡنَحۡمِلۡwalnahmiland we will carryخَطَٰيَٰكُمۡkhatayakumyour sinsوَمَاwamaBut notهُمhumtheyبِحَٰمِلِينَbihamilina(are) going to carryمِنۡminofخَطَٰيَٰهُمkhatayahumtheir sinsمِّنminanyشَيۡءٍۖshayinthingإِنَّهُمۡinnahumIndeed theyلَكَٰذِبُونَlakadhibuna(are) surely liars١٢
29:13وَلَيَحۡمِلُنَّwalayahmilunnaBut surely they will carryأَثۡقَالَهُمۡathqalahumtheir burdensوَأَثۡقَالٗاwa-athqalanand burdensمَّعَma'awithأَثۡقَالِهِمۡۖathqalihimtheir burdensوَلَيُسۡـَٔلُنَّwalayus'alunnaand surely they will be questionedيَوۡمَyawma(on the) Dayٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِal-qiyamati(of) the Resurrectionعَمَّاammaabout whatكَانُواْkanuthey usedيَفۡتَرُونَyaftaruna(to) invent١٣
29:14وَلَقَدۡwalaqadAnd verilyأَرۡسَلۡنَاarsalnaWe sentنُوحًاnuhanNuhإِلَىٰilatoقَوۡمِهِۦqawmihihis peopleفَلَبِثَfalabithaand he remainedفِيهِمۡfihimamong themأَلۡفَalfaa thousandسَنَةٍsanatinyear(s)إِلَّاillasaveخَمۡسِينَkhamsinafiftyعَامٗاamanyear(s)فَأَخَذَهُمُfa-akhadhahumuthen seized themٱلطُّوفَانُal-tufanuthe floodوَهُمۡwahumwhile theyظَٰلِمُونَzalimuna(were) wrongdoers١٤
29:15فَأَنجَيۡنَٰهُfa-anjaynahuBut We saved himوَأَصۡحَٰبَwa-ashabaand (the) peopleٱلسَّفِينَةِal-safinati(of) the shipوَجَعَلۡنَٰهَآwaja'alnahaand We made itءَايَةٗayatana Signلِّلۡعَٰلَمِينَlil'alaminafor the worlds١٥
29:16وَإِبۡرَٰهِيمَwa-ib'rahimaAnd Ibrahim إِذۡidhwhenقَالَqalahe saidلِقَوۡمِهِliqawmihito his peopleٱعۡبُدُواْu'buduWorshipٱللَّهَal-lahaAllahوَٱتَّقُوهُۖwa-ittaquhuand fear HimذَٰلِكُمۡdhalikumThatخَيۡرٞkhayrun(is) betterلَّكُمۡlakumfor youإِنinifكُنتُمۡkuntumyouتَعۡلَمُونَta'lamunaknow١٦
29:17إِنَّمَاinnamaOnlyتَعۡبُدُونَta'budunayou worshipمِنminbesidesدُونِdunibesidesٱللَّهِal-lahiAllahأَوۡثَٰنٗاawthananidolsوَتَخۡلُقُونَwatakhluqunaand you createإِفۡكًاۚif'kanfalsehoodإِنَّinnaIndeedٱلَّذِينَalladhinathose whomتَعۡبُدُونَta'budunayou worshipمِنminbesidesدُونِdunibesidesٱللَّهِal-lahiAllahلَاla(do) notيَمۡلِكُونَyamlikunapossessلَكُمۡlakumfor youرِزۡقٗاriz'qanany provisionفَٱبۡتَغُواْfa-ib'taghuSo seekعِندَindafromٱللَّهِal-lahiAllahٱلرِّزۡقَal-riz'qathe provisionوَٱعۡبُدُوهُwa-u'buduhuand worship Himوَٱشۡكُرُواْwa-ush'kuruand be gratefulلَهُۥٓۖlahuto HimإِلَيۡهِilayhiTo Himتُرۡجَعُونَtur'ja'unayou will be returned١٧
29:18وَإِنwa-inAnd ifتُكَذِّبُواْtukadhibuyou denyفَقَدۡfaqadthen verilyكَذَّبَkadhabadeniedأُمَمٞumamun(the) nationsمِّنminbefore youقَبۡلِكُمۡۖqablikumbefore youوَمَاwamaAnd notعَلَىala(is) onٱلرَّسُولِal-rasulithe Messengerإِلَّاillaexceptٱلۡبَلَٰغُal-balaghuthe conveyanceٱلۡمُبِينُal-mubinuclear١٨
29:19أَوَلَمۡawalamDo notيَرَوۡاْyarawthey seeكَيۡفَkayfahowيُبۡدِئُyub'di-uAllah originatesٱللَّهُal-lahuAllah originatesٱلۡخَلۡقَal-khalqathe creationثُمَّthummathenيُعِيدُهُۥٓۚyu'iduhurepeats itإِنَّinnaIndeedذَٰلِكَdhalikathatعَلَىalaforٱللَّهِal-lahiAllahيَسِيرٞyasirun(is) easy١٩
29:20قُلۡqulSayسِيرُواْsiruTravelفِيfiinٱلۡأَرۡضِal-ardithe earthفَٱنظُرُواْfa-unzuruand seeكَيۡفَkayfahowبَدَأَbada-aHe originatedٱلۡخَلۡقَۚal-khalqathe creationثُمَّthummaThenٱللَّهُal-lahuAllahيُنشِئُyunshi-uwill produceٱلنَّشۡأَةَal-nashatathe creationٱلۡأٓخِرَةَۚal-akhiratathe lastإِنَّinnaIndeedٱللَّهَal-lahaAllahعَلَىٰalaonكُلِّkullieveryشَيۡءٖshayinthingقَدِيرٞqadirun(is) All-Powerful٢٠
29:21يُعَذِّبُyu'adhibuHe punishesمَنmanwhomيَشَآءُyashauHe willsوَيَرۡحَمُwayarhamuand has mercyمَنman(on) whomيَشَآءُۖyashauHe willsوَإِلَيۡهِwa-ilayhiand to Himتُقۡلَبُونَtuq'labunayou will be returned٢١
29:22وَمَآwamaAnd notأَنتُمantumyouبِمُعۡجِزِينَbimu'jizinacan escapeفِيfiinٱلۡأَرۡضِal-ardithe earthوَلَاwalaand notفِيfiinٱلسَّمَآءِۖal-samaithe heavenوَمَاwamaAnd notلَكُمlakumfor youمِّنminbesidesدُونِdunibesidesٱللَّهِal-lahiAllahمِنminanyوَلِيّٖwaliyyinprotectorوَلَاwalaand notنَصِيرٖnasirina helper٢٢
29:23وَٱلَّذِينَwa-alladhinaAnd those whoكَفَرُواْkafarudisbelieveبِـَٔايَٰتِbiayatiin (the) Signsٱللَّهِal-lahi(of) Allahوَلِقَآئِهِۦٓwaliqaihiand (the) meeting (with) Himأُوْلَٰٓئِكَulaikathoseيَئِسُواْya-isu(have) despairedمِنminofرَّحۡمَتِيrahmatiMy Mercyوَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَwa-ulaikaAnd thoseلَهُمۡlahumfor themعَذَابٌadhabun(is) a punishmentأَلِيمٞalimunpainful٢٣
29:24فَمَاfamaAnd notكَانَkanawasجَوَابَjawaba(the) answerقَوۡمِهِۦٓqawmihi(of) his peopleإِلَّآillaexceptأَنanthatقَالُواْqaluthey saidٱقۡتُلُوهُuq'tuluhuKill himأَوۡaworحَرِّقُوهُharriquhuburn himفَأَنجَىٰهُfa-anjahuBut Allah saved himٱللَّهُal-lahuBut Allah saved himمِنَminafromٱلنَّارِۚal-narithe fireإِنَّinnaIndeedفِيfiinذَٰلِكَdhalikathatلَأٓيَٰتٖlaayatinsurely (are) Signsلِّقَوۡمٖliqawminfor a peopleيُؤۡمِنُونَyu'minunawho believe٢٤
29:25وَقَالَwaqalaAnd he saidإِنَّمَاinnamaOnlyٱتَّخَذۡتُمittakhadhtumyou have takenمِّنminbesidesدُونِdunibesidesٱللَّهِal-lahiAllahأَوۡثَٰنٗاawthananidolsمَّوَدَّةَmawaddata(out of) loveبَيۡنِكُمۡbaynikumamong youفِيfiinٱلۡحَيَوٰةِal-hayatithe lifeٱلدُّنۡيَاۖal-dun'ya(of) the worldثُمَّthummaThenيَوۡمَyawma(on the) Dayٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِal-qiyamati(of) the Resurrectionيَكۡفُرُyakfuruyou will denyبَعۡضُكُمba'dukumone anotherبِبَعۡضٖbiba'dinone anotherوَيَلۡعَنُwayal'anuand curseبَعۡضُكُمba'dukumone anotherبَعۡضٗاba'danone anotherوَمَأۡوَىٰكُمُwamawakumuand your abodeٱلنَّارُal-naru(will be) the Fireوَمَاwamaand notلَكُمlakumfor youمِّنminanyنَّٰصِرِينَnasirinahelpers٢٥
29:26۞فَـَٔامَنَfaamanaAnd believedلَهُۥlahu[in] himلُوطٞۘlutunLutوَقَالَwaqalaand he saidإِنِّيinniIndeed I (am)مُهَاجِرٌmuhajirunemigratingإِلَىٰilatoرَبِّيٓۖrabbimy LordإِنَّهُۥinnahuIndeed Heهُوَhuwa[He] (is)ٱلۡعَزِيزُal-'azizuthe All-Mightyٱلۡحَكِيمُal-hakimuthe All-Wise٢٦
29:27وَوَهَبۡنَاwawahabnaAnd We grantedلَهُۥٓlahuto himإِسۡحَٰقَis'haqaIsaacوَيَعۡقُوبَwaya'qubaand Yaqubوَجَعَلۡنَاwaja'alnaand We placedفِيfiinذُرِّيَّتِهِdhurriyyatihihis offspringsٱلنُّبُوَّةَal-nubuwatathe Prophethoodوَٱلۡكِتَٰبَwal-kitabaand the BookوَءَاتَيۡنَٰهُwaataynahuAnd We gave himأَجۡرَهُۥajrahuhis rewardفِيfiinٱلدُّنۡيَاۖal-dun'yathe worldوَإِنَّهُۥwa-innahuAnd indeed heفِيfiinٱلۡأٓخِرَةِal-akhiratithe Hereafterلَمِنَlamina(is) surely amongٱلصَّٰلِحِينَal-salihinathe righteous٢٧
29:28وَلُوطًاwalutanAnd Lutإِذۡidhwhenقَالَqalahe saidلِقَوۡمِهِۦٓliqawmihito his peopleإِنَّكُمۡinnakumIndeed youلَتَأۡتُونَlatatunacommitٱلۡفَٰحِشَةَal-fahishatathe immoralityمَاmanotسَبَقَكُمsabaqakumhas preceded youبِهَاbihawith itمِنۡminanyأَحَدٖahadinoneمِّنَminafromٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَal-'alaminathe worlds٢٨
29:29أَئِنَّكُمۡa-innakumIndeed youلَتَأۡتُونَlatatunaapproachٱلرِّجَالَal-rijalathe menوَتَقۡطَعُونَwataqta'unaand you cut offٱلسَّبِيلَal-sabilathe roadوَتَأۡتُونَwatatunaand commitفِيfiinنَادِيكُمُnadikumuyour meetingsٱلۡمُنكَرَۖal-munkaraevilفَمَاfamaAnd notكَانَkanawasجَوَابَjawaba(the) answerقَوۡمِهِۦٓqawmihi(of) his peopleإِلَّآillaexceptأَنanthatقَالُواْqaluthey saidٱئۡتِنَاi'tinaBring upon usبِعَذَابِbi'adhabi(the) punishmentٱللَّهِal-lahi(of) Allahإِنinifكُنتَkuntayou areمِنَminaofٱلصَّٰدِقِينَal-sadiqinathe truthful٢٩
29:30قَالَqalaHe saidرَبِّrabbiMy Lordٱنصُرۡنِيunsur'niHelp meعَلَىalaagainstٱلۡقَوۡمِal-qawmithe peopleٱلۡمُفۡسِدِينَal-muf'sidinathe corrupters٣٠
29:31وَلَمَّاwalammaAnd whenجَآءَتۡjaatcameرُسُلُنَآrusulunaOur messengersإِبۡرَٰهِيمَib'rahima(to) Ibrahimبِٱلۡبُشۡرَىٰbil-bush'rawith the glad tidingsقَالُوٓاْqaluthey saidإِنَّاinnaIndeed weمُهۡلِكُوٓاْmuh'liku(are) going to destroyأَهۡلِahli(the) peopleهَٰذِهِhadhihi(of) thisٱلۡقَرۡيَةِۖal-qaryatitownإِنَّinnaIndeedأَهۡلَهَاahlahaits peopleكَانُواْkanuareظَٰلِمِينَzaliminawrongdoers٣١
29:32قَالَqalaHe saidإِنَّinnaIndeedفِيهَاfihain itلُوطٗاۚlutan(is) LutقَالُواْqaluThey saidنَحۡنُnahnuWeأَعۡلَمُa'lamuknow betterبِمَنbimanwhoفِيهَاۖfiha(is) in itلَنُنَجِّيَنَّهُۥlanunajjiyannahuWe will surely save himوَأَهۡلَهُۥٓwa-ahlahuand his familyإِلَّاillaexceptٱمۡرَأَتَهُۥim'ra-atahuhis wifeكَانَتۡkanatSheمِنَmina(is) ofٱلۡغَٰبِرِينَal-ghabirinathose who remain behind٣٢
29:33وَلَمَّآwalammaAnd whenأَنan[that]جَآءَتۡjaatcameرُسُلُنَاrusulunaOur messengersلُوطٗاlutan(to) Lutسِيٓءَsiahe was distressedبِهِمۡbihimfor themوَضَاقَwadaqaand felt straitenedبِهِمۡbihimfor themذَرۡعٗاۖdhar'an(and) uneasyوَقَالُواْwaqaluAnd they saidلَاla(Do) notتَخَفۡtakhaffearوَلَاwalaand (do) notتَحۡزَنۡtahzangrieveإِنَّاinnaIndeed weمُنَجُّوكَmunajjuka(will) save youوَأَهۡلَكَwa-ahlakaand your familyإِلَّاillaexceptٱمۡرَأَتَكَim'ra-atakayour wifeكَانَتۡkanatSheمِنَmina(is) ofٱلۡغَٰبِرِينَal-ghabirinathose who remain behind٣٣
29:34إِنَّاinnaIndeed weمُنزِلُونَmunziluna(will) bring downعَلَىٰٓalaonأَهۡلِahli(the) peopleهَٰذِهِhadhihi(of) thisٱلۡقَرۡيَةِal-qaryatitownرِجۡزٗاrij'zana punishmentمِّنَminafromٱلسَّمَآءِal-samai(the) skyبِمَاbimabecauseكَانُواْkanuthey have beenيَفۡسُقُونَyafsuqunadefiantly disobedient٣٤
29:35وَلَقَدwalaqadAnd verilyتَّرَكۡنَاtaraknaWe have leftمِنۡهَآmin'haabout itءَايَةَۢayatana signبَيِّنَةٗbayyinatan(as) evidenceلِّقَوۡمٖliqawminfor a peopleيَعۡقِلُونَya'qilunawho use reason٣٥
29:36وَإِلَىٰwa-ilaAnd toمَدۡيَنَmadyanaMadyanأَخَاهُمۡakhahumtheir brotherشُعَيۡبٗاshu'aybanShuaibفَقَالَfaqalaAnd he saidيَٰقَوۡمِyaqawmiO my peopleٱعۡبُدُواْu'buduWorshipٱللَّهَal-lahaAllahوَٱرۡجُواْwa-ir'juand expectٱلۡيَوۡمَal-yawmathe Dayٱلۡأٓخِرَal-akhirathe Lastوَلَاwalaand (do) notتَعۡثَوۡاْta'thawcommit evilفِيfiinٱلۡأَرۡضِal-ardithe earthمُفۡسِدِينَmuf'sidina(as) corrupters٣٦
29:37فَكَذَّبُوهُfakadhabuhuBut they denied himفَأَخَذَتۡهُمُfa-akhadhathumuso seized themٱلرَّجۡفَةُal-rajfatuthe earthquakeفَأَصۡبَحُواْfa-asbahuand they becameفِيfiinدَارِهِمۡdarihimtheir homeجَٰثِمِينَjathiminafallen prone٣٧
29:38وَعَادٗاwa'adanAnd Aadوَثَمُودَاْwathamudaand Thamudوَقَدwaqadand verilyتَّبَيَّنَtabayyana(has) become clearلَكُمlakumto youمِّنminfromمَّسَٰكِنِهِمۡۖmasakinihimtheir dwellingsوَزَيَّنَwazayyanaAnd made fair-seemingلَهُمُlahumuto themٱلشَّيۡطَٰنُal-shaytanuthe Shaitaanأَعۡمَٰلَهُمۡa'malahumtheir deedsفَصَدَّهُمۡfasaddahumand averted themعَنِanifromٱلسَّبِيلِal-sabilithe Wayوَكَانُواْwakanuthough they wereمُسۡتَبۡصِرِينَmus'tabsirinaendowed with insight٣٨
29:39وَقَٰرُونَwaqarunaAnd Qarunوَفِرۡعَوۡنَwafir'awnaand Firaunوَهَٰمَٰنَۖwahamanaand HamanوَلَقَدۡwalaqadAnd certainlyجَآءَهُمjaahumcame to themمُّوسَىٰmusaMusaبِٱلۡبَيِّنَٰتِbil-bayinatiwith clear evidencesفَٱسۡتَكۡبَرُواْfa-is'takbarubut they were arrogantفِيfiinٱلۡأَرۡضِal-ardithe earthوَمَاwamaand notكَانُواْkanuthey couldسَٰبِقِينَsabiqinaoutstrip Us٣٩
29:40فَكُلًّاfakullanSo eachأَخَذۡنَاakhadhnaWe seizedبِذَنۢبِهِۦۖbidhanbihifor his sinفَمِنۡهُمfamin'humThen of themمَّنۡman(was he) whoأَرۡسَلۡنَاarsalnaWe sentعَلَيۡهِalayhion himحَاصِبٗاhasibana violent stormوَمِنۡهُمwamin'humand of themمَّنۡman(was he) whoأَخَذَتۡهُakhadhathuseized himٱلصَّيۡحَةُal-sayhatuthe awful cryوَمِنۡهُمwamin'humand of themمَّنۡman(was he) whoخَسَفۡنَاkhasafnaWe caused to swallowبِهِbihihimٱلۡأَرۡضَal-ardathe earthوَمِنۡهُمwamin'humand of themمَّنۡman(was he) whoأَغۡرَقۡنَاۚaghraqnaWe drownedوَمَاwamaAnd notكَانَkanawasٱللَّهُal-lahuAllahلِيَظۡلِمَهُمۡliyazlimahumto wrong themوَلَٰكِنwalakinbutكَانُوٓاْkanuthey wereأَنفُسَهُمۡanfusahumthemselvesيَظۡلِمُونَyazlimunadoing wrong٤٠
29:41مَثَلُmathalu(The) exampleٱلَّذِينَalladhina(of) those whoٱتَّخَذُواْittakhadhutakeمِنminbesidesدُونِdunibesidesٱللَّهِal-lahiAllahأَوۡلِيَآءَawliyaaprotectorsكَمَثَلِkamathali(is) likeٱلۡعَنكَبُوتِal-'ankabutithe spiderٱتَّخَذَتۡittakhadhatwho takesبَيۡتٗاۖbaytana houseوَإِنَّwa-innaAnd indeedأَوۡهَنَawhanathe weakestٱلۡبُيُوتِal-buyuti(of) housesلَبَيۡتُlabaytu(is) surely (the) houseٱلۡعَنكَبُوتِۚal-'ankabuti(of) the spiderلَوۡlawif (only)كَانُواْkanutheyيَعۡلَمُونَya'lamunaknow٤١
29:42إِنَّinnaIndeedٱللَّهَal-lahaAllahيَعۡلَمُya'lamuknowsمَاmawhatيَدۡعُونَyad'unathey invokeمِنminbesides Himدُونِهِۦdunihibesides HimمِنminanyشَيۡءٖۚshayinthingوَهُوَwahuwaAnd Heٱلۡعَزِيزُal-'azizu(is) the All-Mightyٱلۡحَكِيمُal-hakimuthe All-Wise٤٢
29:43وَتِلۡكَwatil'kaAnd theseٱلۡأَمۡثَٰلُal-amthaluexamplesنَضۡرِبُهَاnadribuhaWe set forthلِلنَّاسِۖlilnnasito mankindوَمَاwamabut notيَعۡقِلُهَآya'qiluhawill understand themإِلَّاillaexceptٱلۡعَٰلِمُونَal-'alimunathose of knowledge٤٣
29:44خَلَقَkhalaqaAllah createdٱللَّهُal-lahuAllah createdٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِal-samawatithe heavensوَٱلۡأَرۡضَwal-ardaand the earthبِٱلۡحَقِّۚbil-haqiin truthإِنَّinnaIndeedفِيfiinذَٰلِكَdhalikathatلَأٓيَةٗlaayatan(is) surely a Signلِّلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَlil'mu'mininafor the believers٤٤
29:45ٱتۡلُut'luReciteمَآmawhatأُوحِيَuhiyahas been revealedإِلَيۡكَilaykato youمِنَminaofٱلۡكِتَٰبِal-kitabithe Bookوَأَقِمِwa-aqimiand establishٱلصَّلَوٰةَۖal-salatathe prayerإِنَّinnaIndeedٱلصَّلَوٰةَal-salatathe prayerتَنۡهَىٰtanhapreventsعَنِanifromٱلۡفَحۡشَآءِal-fahshaithe immoralityوَٱلۡمُنكَرِۗwal-munkariand evil deedsوَلَذِكۡرُwaladhik'ruand surely (the) remembranceٱللَّهِal-lahi(of) Allahأَكۡبَرُۗakbaru(is) greatestوَٱللَّهُwal-lahuAnd Allahيَعۡلَمُya'lamuknowsمَاmawhatتَصۡنَعُونَtasna'unayou do٤٥
29:46۞وَلَاwalaAnd (do) notتُجَٰدِلُوٓاْtujadiluargueأَهۡلَahla(with the) People of the Bookٱلۡكِتَٰبِal-kitabi(with the) People of the Bookإِلَّاillaexceptبِٱلَّتِيbi-allatiby whichهِيَhiya[it]أَحۡسَنُahsanu(is) bestإِلَّاillaexceptٱلَّذِينَalladhinathose whoظَلَمُواْzalamu(do) wrongمِنۡهُمۡۖmin'humamong themوَقُولُوٓاْwaquluand sayءَامَنَّاamannaWe believeبِٱلَّذِيٓbi-alladhiin that (which)أُنزِلَunzilahas been revealedإِلَيۡنَاilaynato usوَأُنزِلَwa-unzilaand was revealedإِلَيۡكُمۡilaykumto youوَإِلَٰهُنَاwa-ilahunaAnd our Godوَإِلَٰهُكُمۡwa-ilahukumand your Godوَٰحِدٞwahidun(is) Oneوَنَحۡنُwanahnuand weلَهُۥlahuto Himمُسۡلِمُونَmus'limunasubmit٤٦
29:47وَكَذَٰلِكَwakadhalikaAnd thusأَنزَلۡنَآanzalnaWe (have) revealedإِلَيۡكَilaykato youٱلۡكِتَٰبَۚal-kitabathe Bookفَٱلَّذِينَfa-alladhinaSo thoseءَاتَيۡنَٰهُمُataynahumuWe gave [them]ٱلۡكِتَٰبَal-kitabathe Bookيُؤۡمِنُونَyu'minunabelieveبِهِۦۖbihithereinوَمِنۡwaminAnd amongهَٰٓؤُلَآءِhaulaitheseمَنman(are some) whoيُؤۡمِنُyu'minubelieveبِهِۦۚbihithereinوَمَاwamaAnd noneيَجۡحَدُyajhadurejectبِـَٔايَٰتِنَآbiayatinaOur Versesإِلَّاillaexceptٱلۡكَٰفِرُونَal-kafirunathe disbelievers٤٧
29:48وَمَاwamaAnd notكُنتَkunta(did) youتَتۡلُواْtatlureciteمِنminbefore itقَبۡلِهِۦqablihibefore itمِنminanyكِتَٰبٖkitabinBookوَلَاwalaand notتَخُطُّهُۥtakhuttuhu(did) you write itبِيَمِينِكَۖbiyaminikawith your right handإِذٗاidhanin that caseلَّٱرۡتَابَla-ir'tabasurely (would) have doubtedٱلۡمُبۡطِلُونَal-mub'tilunathe falsifiers٤٨
29:49بَلۡbalNayهُوَhuwaitءَايَٰتُۢayatun(is) Versesبَيِّنَٰتٞbayyinatunclearفِيfiinصُدُورِsuduri(the) breastsٱلَّذِينَalladhina(of) those whoأُوتُواْutuare givenٱلۡعِلۡمَۚal-'il'mathe knowledgeوَمَاwamaAnd notيَجۡحَدُyajhadurejectبِـَٔايَٰتِنَآbiayatinaOur Versesإِلَّاillaexceptٱلظَّٰلِمُونَal-zalimunathe wrongdoers٤٩
29:50وَقَالُواْwaqaluAnd they sayلَوۡلَآlawlaWhy notأُنزِلَunzilaare sent downعَلَيۡهِalayhito himءَايَٰتٞayatun(the) Signsمِّنminfromرَّبِّهِۦۚrabbihihis LordقُلۡqulSayإِنَّمَاinnamaOnlyٱلۡأٓيَٰتُal-ayatuthe Signsعِندَinda(are) withٱللَّهِal-lahiAllahوَإِنَّمَآwa-innamaand onlyأَنَا۠anaI (am)نَذِيرٞnadhiruna warnerمُّبِينٌmubinunclear٥٠
