تِلۡكَ
Tilka
These
ءَايَٰتُ
ʹAayaatul
(are the) Verses
ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ
Kitaabil
(of) the Book
ٱلۡمُبِينِ
mubeen.

28:3
نَتۡلُواْ
Natloo
We recite
عَلَيۡكَ
ʻalayka
to you
مِن
min
from
نَّبَإِ
nabaʹi
(the) news
مُوسَىٰ
Moosaa
(of) Musa
وَفِرۡعَوۡنَ
wa-Firʻawna
and Firaun
بِٱلۡحَقِّ
bil-Ḥaq̣q̣i
in truth
لِقَوۡمٖ
liq̣awmiñy
for a people
يُؤۡمِنُونَ
yuʹminoon.
who believe
٣
28:4
إِنَّ
ʹInna
Indeed
فِرۡعَوۡنَ
firʻawna
Firaun
عَلَا
ʻalaa
exalted himself
فِي
fil
in
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ
ʹarḍi
the land
وَجَعَلَ
wa-jaʻala
and made
أَهۡلَهَا
ʹahlahaa
its people
شِيَعٗا
shiyaʻañy
(into) sects
يَسۡتَضۡعِفُ
yastaḍʻifu
oppressing
طَآئِفَةٗ
ṭaaaʹifatam
a group
مِّنۡهُمۡ
minhum
among them
يُذَبِّحُ
yuẓabbiḥu
slaughtering
أَبۡنَآءَهُمۡ
ʹabnaaaʹahum
their sons
وَيَسۡتَحۡيِۦ
wa-yastaḥyee
and letting live
نِسَآءَهُمۡۚ
nisaaaʹahum:
their women
إِنَّهُۥ
ʹinnahoo
Indeed he
كَانَ
kaana
was
مِنَ
minal
of
ٱلۡمُفۡسِدِينَ
mufsideen.
the corrupters
٤
28:5
وَنُرِيدُ
Wa-nureedu
And We wanted
أَن
ʹan
to
نَّمُنَّ
namunna
bestow a favor
عَلَى
ʻalal
upon
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeenas
those who
ٱسۡتُضۡعِفُواْ
tuḍʻifoo
were oppressed
فِي
fil
in
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ
ʹarḍi
the land
وَنَجۡعَلَهُمۡ
wa-najʻalahum
and make them
أَئِمَّةٗ
ʹaʹimmatañw
leaders
وَنَجۡعَلَهُمُ
Wanajʻalahumul
and make them
ٱلۡوَٰرِثِينَ
waaris̤een,
the inheritors

وَنُمَكِّنَ
Wa-numakkina
And [We] establish
لَهُمۡ
lahum
them
فِي
fil
in
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ
ʹarḍi
the land
وَنُرِيَ
wa-nuriya
and show
فِرۡعَوۡنَ
Firʻawna
Firaun
وَهَٰمَٰنَ
wa-Haamaana
and Haman
وَجُنُودَهُمَا
wa-junoodahumaa
and their hosts
مِنۡهُم
minhum
through them
مَّا
maa
what
كَانُواْ
kaanoo
they were
يَحۡذَرُونَ
yaḥẓaroon.
fearing
٦
28:7
وَأَوۡحَيۡنَآ
Wa-ʹawḥaynaaa
And We inspired
إِلَىٰٓ
ʹilaaa
[to]
أُمِّ
ʹummi
(the) mother
مُوسَىٰٓ
Moosaaa
(of) Musa
أَنۡ
ʹan
that
أَرۡضِعِيهِۖ
ʹarḍiʻeeh:
Suckle him
فَإِذَا
faʹiẓaa
but when
خِفۡتِ
khifti
you fear
عَلَيۡهِ
ʻalayhi
for him
فَأَلۡقِيهِ
faʹalq̣eehi
then cast him
فِي
fil
in(to)
ٱلۡيَمِّ
yammi
the river
وَلَا
wa-laa
and (do) not
تَخَافِي
takhaafee
fear
وَلَا
walaa
and (do) not
تَحۡزَنِيٓۖ
taḥzanee:
grieve
إِنَّا
ʹinnaa
Indeed We
رَآدُّوهُ
raaaddoohu
(will) restore him
إِلَيۡكِ
ʹilayki
to you
وَجَاعِلُوهُ
wa-jaaʻiloohu
and (will) make him
مِنَ
milnal
of
ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِينَ
mursaleen.
the Messengers
٧
28:8
فَٱلۡتَقَطَهُۥٓ
Faltaq̣aṭahooo
Then picked him up
ءَالُ
ʹaalu
(the) family
فِرۡعَوۡنَ
Firʻawna
(of) Firaun
لِيَكُونَ
liyakoona
so that he might become
لَهُمۡ
lahum
to them
عَدُوّٗا
ʻaduwwañw
an enemy
وَحَزَنًاۗ
Waḥazanaa:
and a grief
إِنَّ
ʹInna
Indeed
فِرۡعَوۡنَ
Firʻawna
Firaun
وَهَٰمَٰنَ
wa-Haamaana
and Haman
وَجُنُودَهُمَا
wa-junooda-humaa
and their hosts
كَانُواْ
kaanoo
were
خَٰطِـِٔينَ
khaaṭiʹeen.
sinners
٨
28:9
وَقَالَتِ
Wa-q̣aalatim
And said
ٱمۡرَأَتُ
raʹatu
(the) wife
فِرۡعَوۡنَ
Firʻawna
(of) Firaun
قُرَّتُ
q̣urratu
A comfort
عَيۡنٖ
ʻaynil
(of the) eye
لِّي
lee
for me
وَلَكَۖ
wa-lak:
and for you
لَا
laa-
(Do) not
تَقۡتُلُوهُ
taq̣tuloohu
kill him
عَسَىٰٓ
ʻasaaa
perhaps
أَن
ʹañy
(that)
يَنفَعَنَآ
yañfaʻanaaa
he may benefit us
أَوۡ
ʹaw
or
نَتَّخِذَهُۥ
nattakhiẓahoo
we may take him
وَلَدٗا
waladañw
(as) a son
وَهُمۡ
wahum
And they
لَا
laa-
(did) not
يَشۡعُرُونَ
yashʻuroon!
perceive
٩
28:10
وَأَصۡبَحَ
Wa-ʹaṣbaḥa
And became
فُؤَادُ
fuʹaadu
(the) heart
أُمِّ
ʹummi
(of the) mother
مُوسَىٰ
Moosaa
(of) Musa
فَٰرِغًاۖ
faarig̣aa:
empty
إِن
ʹiñ
That
كَادَتۡ
kaadat
she was near
لَتُبۡدِي
latubdee
(to) disclosing
بِهِۦ
bihee
about him
لَوۡلَآ
law
if not
أَن
laaa
that
رَّبَطۡنَا
ʹarrabaṭnaa
We strengthened
عَلَىٰ
ʻalaa
[over]
قَلۡبِهَا
q̣albihaa
her heart
لِتَكُونَ
litakoona
so that she would be
مِنَ
minal
of
ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
Muʹmineen.
the believers
١٠
28:11
وَقَالَتۡ
Wa-q̣aalat
And she said
لِأُخۡتِهِۦ
liʹukhtihee
to his sister
قُصِّيهِۖ
q̣uṣṣeeh.
Follow him
فَبَصُرَتۡ
Fabaṣurat
So she watched
بِهِۦ
bihee
him
عَن
ʻañ
from
جُنُبٖ
junubiñw
a distance
وَهُمۡ
wahum
while they
لَا
laa-
(did) not
يَشۡعُرُونَ
yashʻuroon.
perceive
١١
28:12
۞وَحَرَّمۡنَا
wa-ḥarramnaa
And We had forbidden
عَلَيۡهِ
ʻalayhil
for him
ٱلۡمَرَاضِعَ
maraaḍiʻa
the wet nurses
مِن
miñ
before
قَبۡلُ
q̣ablu
before
فَقَالَتۡ
faq̣aalat
so she said
هَلۡ
hal
Shall I
أَدُلُّكُمۡ
ʹadullukum
direct you
عَلَىٰٓ
ʻalaaa
to
أَهۡلِ
ʹahli
(the) people
بَيۡتٖ
baytiñy
(of) a house
يَكۡفُلُونَهُۥ
yakfuloonahoo
who will rear him
لَكُمۡ
lakum
for you
وَهُمۡ
wa-hum
while they
لَهُۥ
lahoo
to him
نَٰصِحُونَ
naaṣiḥoon?...
(will be) sincere
١٢
28:13
فَرَدَدۡنَٰهُ
Faradadnaahu
So We restored him
إِلَىٰٓ
ʹilaaa
to
أُمِّهِۦ
ʹummihee
his mother
كَيۡ
kay
that
تَقَرَّ
taq̣arra
might be comforted
عَيۡنُهَا
ʻaynuhaa
her eye
وَلَا
wa-laa
and not
تَحۡزَنَ
taḥzana
she may grieve
وَلِتَعۡلَمَ
wa-litaʻlama
and that she would know
أَنَّ
ʹanna
that
وَعۡدَ
waʻdal
the Promise of Allah
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
the Promise of Allah
حَقّٞ
ḥaq̣q̣uñw
(is) true
وَلَٰكِنَّ
walaakinna
But
أَكۡثَرَهُمۡ
ʹaks̤arahum
most of them
لَا
laa-
(do) not
يَعۡلَمُونَ
yaʻlamoon.
know

28:14
وَلَمَّا
Wa-lammaa
And when
بَلَغَ
balag̣a
he reached
أَشُدَّهُۥ
ʹashuddahoo
his full strength
وَٱسۡتَوَىٰٓ
wastawaaa
and became mature
ءَاتَيۡنَٰهُ
ʹaataynaahu
We bestowed upon him
حُكۡمٗا
ḥukmañw
wisdom
وَعِلۡمٗاۚ
waʻilmaa:
and knowledge
وَكَذَٰلِكَ
wa-kaẓaalika
And thus
نَجۡزِي
najzil
We reward
ٱلۡمُحۡسِنِينَ
Muḥsineen.
the good-doers
١٤
28:15
وَدَخَلَ
Wa-dakhalal
And he entered
ٱلۡمَدِينَةَ
Madeenata
the city
عَلَىٰ
ʻalaa
at
حِينِ
ḥeeni
a time
غَفۡلَةٖ
g̣aflatim
(of) inattention
مِّنۡ
min
of
أَهۡلِهَا
ʹahlihaa
its people
فَوَجَدَ
fawajada
and found
فِيهَا
feeha
therein
رَجُلَيۡنِ
rajulayni
two men
يَقۡتَتِلَانِ
yaq̣tatilaani
fighting each other
هَٰذَا
haaẓaa
this
مِن
miñ
of
شِيعَتِهِۦ
sheeʻatihee
his party
وَهَٰذَا
wa-haaẓaa
and this
مِنۡ
min
of
عَدُوِّهِۦۖ
ʻaduwwih.
his enemy
فَٱسۡتَغَٰثَهُ
Fastag̣aas̤ahul
And called him for help
ٱلَّذِي
laẓee
the one who
مِن
miñ
(was) from
شِيعَتِهِۦ
sheeʻatihee
his party
عَلَى
ʻalal
against
ٱلَّذِي
laẓee
the one who
مِنۡ
min
(was) from
عَدُوِّهِۦ
ʻaduwwihee
his enemy
فَوَكَزَهُۥ
fawakazahoo
so Musa struck him with his fist
مُوسَىٰ
Moosaa
so Musa struck him with his fist
فَقَضَىٰ
faq̣aḍaa
and killed him
عَلَيۡهِۖ
ʻalayh.
and killed him
قَالَ
Q̣aala
He said
هَٰذَا
haaẓaa
This (is)
مِنۡ
min
of
عَمَلِ
ʻamalish
(the) deed
ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنِۖ
shayṭaan:
(of) Shaitaan
إِنَّهُۥ
ʹinnahoo
Indeed he
عَدُوّٞ
ʻaduwwum
(is) an enemy
مُّضِلّٞ
muḍillum
one who misleads
مُّبِينٞ
mubeen!
clearly
١٥
28:16
قَالَ
Q̣aala
He said
رَبِّ
Rabbi
My Lord
إِنِّي
ʹinnee
Indeed I
ظَلَمۡتُ
z̤̣alamtu
[I] have wronged
نَفۡسِي
nafsee
my soul
فَٱغۡفِرۡ
fag̣fir
so forgive
لِي
lee
[for] me
فَغَفَرَ
fag̣afara
Then He forgave
لَهُۥٓۚ
lah:
[for] him
إِنَّهُۥ
innahoo
Indeed He
هُوَ
Huwal
He (is)
ٱلۡغَفُورُ
G̣afoorur
the Oft-Forgiving
ٱلرَّحِيمُ
Raḥeem.
the Most Merciful
١٦
28:17
قَالَ
Q̣aala
He said
رَبِّ
Rabbi
My Lord
بِمَآ
bimaaa
Because
أَنۡعَمۡتَ
ʹanʻamta
You have favored
عَلَيَّ
ʻalayya
[on] me
فَلَنۡ
falan
so not
أَكُونَ
ʹakoona
I will be
ظَهِيرٗا
z̤̣aheeral
a supporter
لِّلۡمُجۡرِمِينَ
lilmujrimeen.
(of) the criminals
١٧
28:18
فَأَصۡبَحَ
Faʹaṣbaḥa
In the morning he was
فِي
fil
in
ٱلۡمَدِينَةِ
Madeenati
the city
خَآئِفٗا
khaaaʹifañy
fearful
يَتَرَقَّبُ
yataraq̣q̣abu
(and) was vigilant
فَإِذَا
faʹiẓal
when behold
ٱلَّذِي
laẓis
The one who
ٱسۡتَنصَرَهُۥ
tañṣarahoo
sought his help
بِٱلۡأَمۡسِ
bil-ʹamsi
the previous day
يَسۡتَصۡرِخُهُۥۚ
yastaṣrikhuh.
cried out to him for help
قَالَ
Q̣aala
Said
لَهُۥ
lahoo
to him
مُوسَىٰٓ
Moosaaa
Musa
إِنَّكَ
ʹinnaka
Indeed you
لَغَوِيّٞ
lag̣awiyyum
(are) surely a deviator
مُّبِينٞ
mubeen!

28:19
فَلَمَّآ
Falammaaa
Then when
أَنۡ
ʹan
[that]
أَرَادَ
ʹaraada
he wanted
أَن
ʹañy
to
يَبۡطِشَ
yabṭisha
strike
بِٱلَّذِي
billaẓee
the one who
هُوَ
huwa
[he] (was)
عَدُوّٞ
ʻaduwwul
an enemy
لَّهُمَا
lahumaa
to both of them
قَالَ
q̣aala
he said
يَٰمُوسَىٰٓ
yaa-Moosaaa
O Musa
أَتُرِيدُ
ʹatureedu
Do you intend
أَن
ʹañ
to
تَقۡتُلَنِي
taq̣tulanee
kill me
كَمَا
kamaa
as
قَتَلۡتَ
q̣atalta
you killed
نَفۡسَۢا
nafsam
a person
بِٱلۡأَمۡسِۖ
bil-ʹams?
yesterday
إِن
ʹIñ
Not
تُرِيدُ
tureedu
you want
إِلَّآ
ʹillaaa
but
أَن
ʹañ
that
تَكُونَ
takoona
you become
جَبَّارٗا
jabbaarañ
a tyrant
فِي
fil
in
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ
ʹarḍi
the earth
وَمَا
wa-maa
and not
تُرِيدُ
tureedu
you want
أَن
ʹañ
that
تَكُونَ
takoona
you be
مِنَ
minal
of
ٱلۡمُصۡلِحِينَ
Muṣliḥeen!
the reformers
١٩
28:20
وَجَآءَ
Wa-jaaaʹa
And came
رَجُلٞ
rajulum
a man
مِّنۡ
min
from
أَقۡصَا
ʹaq̣ṣal
(the) farthest end
ٱلۡمَدِينَةِ
Madeenati
(of) the city
يَسۡعَىٰ
yasʻaa.
running
قَالَ
Q̣aala
He said
يَٰمُوسَىٰٓ
yaa-Moosaaa
O Musa
إِنَّ
ʹinnal
Indeed
ٱلۡمَلَأَ
malaʹa
the chiefs
يَأۡتَمِرُونَ
yaʹ-tamiroona
are taking counsel
بِكَ
bika
about you
لِيَقۡتُلُوكَ
liyaq̣tulooka
to kill you
فَٱخۡرُجۡ
fakhruj
so leave
إِنِّي
ʹinnee
indeed I am
لَكَ
laka
to you
مِنَ
minan
of
ٱلنَّٰصِحِينَ
naaṣiḥeen.
the sincere advisors
٢٠
28:21
فَخَرَجَ
Fakharaja
So he left
مِنۡهَا
minhaa
from it
خَآئِفٗا
khaaaʹifañy
fearing
يَتَرَقَّبُۖ
yataraq̣q̣ab:
(and) vigilant
قَالَ
Q̣aala
He said
رَبِّ
Rabbi
My Lord
نَجِّنِي
najjinee
Save me
مِنَ
minal
from
ٱلۡقَوۡمِ
q̣awmiz̤̣
the people
ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
z̤̣aalimeen.
the wrongdoers
٢١

28:22
وَلَمَّا
Wa-lammaa
And when
تَوَجَّهَ
tawajjaha
he turned his face
تِلۡقَآءَ
tilq̣aaaʹa
towards
مَدۡيَنَ
Madyana
Madyan
قَالَ
q̣aala
he said
عَسَىٰ
ʻasaa
Perhaps
رَبِّيٓ
Rabbeee
my Lord
أَن
ʹañy
[that]
يَهۡدِيَنِي
yahdiyanee
will guide me
سَوَآءَ
sawaaaʹas
(to the) sound
ٱلسَّبِيلِ
sabeel.

٢٢
28:23
وَلَمَّا
Wa-lammaa
And when
وَرَدَ
warada
he came
مَآءَ
maaaʹa
(to the) water
مَدۡيَنَ
Madyana
(of) Madyan
وَجَدَ
wajada
he found
عَلَيۡهِ
ʻalayhi
on it
أُمَّةٗ
ʹummatam
a group
مِّنَ
minan
of
ٱلنَّاسِ
naasi
men
يَسۡقُونَ
yasq̣oona
watering
وَوَجَدَ
wa-wajada
and he found
مِن
miñ
besides them
دُونِهِمُ
doonihimum
besides them
ٱمۡرَأَتَيۡنِ
raʹatayni
two women
تَذُودَانِۖ
taẓoodaan.
keeping back
قَالَ
Q̣aala
He said
مَا
maa-
What
خَطۡبُكُمَاۖ
khaṭbukumaa?
(is the) matter with both of you
قَالَتَا
Q̣aalataa
They said
لَا
laa-
We cannot water
نَسۡقِي
nasq̣ee
We cannot water
حَتَّىٰ
ḥattaa
until
يُصۡدِرَ
yuṣdirar
take away
ٱلرِّعَآءُۖ
riʻaaaʹu
the shepherds
وَأَبُونَا
wa-ʹaboonaa
and our father
شَيۡخٞ
shaykhuñ
(is) a very old man
كَبِيرٞ
kabeer.
(is) a very old man
٢٣
28:24
فَسَقَىٰ
Fasaq̣aa
So he watered
لَهُمَا
lahumaa
for them
ثُمَّ
s̤umma
Then
تَوَلَّىٰٓ
tawallaaa
he turned back
إِلَى
ʹilaz̤̣
to
ٱلظِّلِّ
z̤̣illi
the shade
فَقَالَ
faq̣aala
and said
رَبِّ
Rabbi
My Lord
إِنِّي
ʹinnee
Indeed I am
لِمَآ
limaaa
of whatever
أَنزَلۡتَ
añzalta
You send
إِلَيَّ
ʹilayya
to me
مِنۡ
min
of
خَيۡرٖ
khayriñ
good
فَقِيرٞ
faq̣eer!..
(in) need
٢٤
28:25
فَجَآءَتۡهُ
Fajaaaʹathu
Then came to him
إِحۡدَىٰهُمَا
ʹiḥdaahumaa
one of the two women
تَمۡشِي
tamshee
walking
عَلَى
ʻalas
with
ٱسۡتِحۡيَآءٖ
tiḥyaaaʹ,
shyness
قَالَتۡ
Q̣aalat
She said
إِنَّ
ʹinna
Indeed
أَبِي
ʹabee
my father
يَدۡعُوكَ
yadʻooka
calls you
لِيَجۡزِيَكَ
liyajziyaka
that he may reward you
أَجۡرَ
ʹajra
(the) reward
مَا
maa-
(for) what
سَقَيۡتَ
saq̣ayta
you watered
لَنَاۚ
lanaa.
for us
فَلَمَّا
Falammaa
So when
جَآءَهُۥ
jaaaʹahoo
he came to him
وَقَصَّ
wa-q̣aṣṣa
and narrated
عَلَيۡهِ
ʻalayhil
to him
ٱلۡقَصَصَ
q̣aṣaṣa
the story
قَالَ
q̣aala
he said
لَا
laa-
(Do) not
تَخَفۡۖ
takhaf:
fear
نَجَوۡتَ
najawta
You have escaped
مِنَ
minal
from
ٱلۡقَوۡمِ
q̣awmiz̤̣
the people
ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
z̤̣aalimeen.
the wrongdoers
٢٥
