سُورَةٌ
suratun
A Surah
أَنزَلۡنَٰهَا
anzalnaha
We (have) sent it down
وَفَرَضۡنَٰهَا
wafaradnaha
and We (have) made it obligatory
وَأَنزَلۡنَا
wa-anzalna
and We (have) revealed
فِيهَآ
fiha
therein
ءَايَٰتِۭ
ayatin
Verses
بَيِّنَٰتٖ
bayyinatin
clear
لَّعَلَّكُمۡ
la'allakum
so that you may
تَذَكَّرُونَ
tadhakkaruna
take heed
١
24:2
ٱلزَّانِيَةُ
al-zaniyatu
The fornicatress
وَٱلزَّانِي
wal-zani
and the fornicator
فَٱجۡلِدُواْ
fa-ij'lidu
[then] flog
كُلَّ
kulla
each
وَٰحِدٖ
wahidin
one
مِّنۡهُمَا
min'huma
of them
مِاْئَةَ
mi-ata
(with) hundred
جَلۡدَةٖۖ
jaldatin
lash(es)
وَلَا
wala
And (let) not
تَأۡخُذۡكُم
takhudh'kum
withhold you
بِهِمَا
bihima
pity for them
رَأۡفَةٞ
rafatun
pity for them
فِي
fi
concerning
دِينِ
dini
(the) religion of Allah
ٱللَّهِ
al-lahi
(the) religion of Allah
إِن
in
if
كُنتُمۡ
kuntum
you
تُؤۡمِنُونَ
tu'minuna
believe
بِٱللَّهِ
bil-lahi
in Allah
وَٱلۡيَوۡمِ
wal-yawmi
and the Day
ٱلۡأٓخِرِۖ
al-akhiri
the Last
وَلۡيَشۡهَدۡ
walyashhad
And let witness
عَذَابَهُمَا
adhabahuma
their punishment
طَآئِفَةٞ
taifatun
a group
مِّنَ
mina
of
ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
al-mu'minina
the believers
٢
24:3
ٱلزَّانِي
al-zani
The fornicator
لَا
la
(will) not
يَنكِحُ
yankihu
marry
إِلَّا
illa
except
زَانِيَةً
zaniyatan
a fornicatress
أَوۡ
aw
or
مُشۡرِكَةٗ
mush'rikatan
a polytheist woman
وَٱلزَّانِيَةُ
wal-zaniyatu
and the fornicatress
لَا
la
(will) not
يَنكِحُهَآ
yankihuha
marry her
إِلَّا
illa
except
زَانٍ
zanin
a fornicator
أَوۡ
aw
or
مُشۡرِكٞۚ
mush'rikun
a polytheist man
وَحُرِّمَ
wahurrima
And is forbidden
ذَٰلِكَ
dhalika
that
عَلَى
ala
to
ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
al-mu'minina
the believers
٣
24:4
وَٱلَّذِينَ
wa-alladhina
And those who
يَرۡمُونَ
yarmuna
accuse
ٱلۡمُحۡصَنَٰتِ
al-muh'sanati
the chaste women
ثُمَّ
thumma
then
لَمۡ
lam
not
يَأۡتُواْ
yatu
they bring
بِأَرۡبَعَةِ
bi-arba'ati
four
شُهَدَآءَ
shuhadaa
witnesses
فَٱجۡلِدُوهُمۡ
fa-ij'liduhum
then flog them
ثَمَٰنِينَ
thamanina
(with) eighty
جَلۡدَةٗ
jaldatan
lashe(s)
وَلَا
wala
and (do) not
تَقۡبَلُواْ
taqbalu
accept
لَهُمۡ
lahum
their
شَهَٰدَةً
shahadatan
testimony
أَبَدٗاۚ
abadan
ever
وَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ
wa-ulaika
And those
هُمُ
humu
they
ٱلۡفَٰسِقُونَ
al-fasiquna
(are) the defiantly disobedient
٤
24:5
إِلَّا
illa
Except
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhina
those who
تَابُواْ
tabu
repent
مِنۢ
min
after
بَعۡدِ
ba'di
after
ذَٰلِكَ
dhalika
that
وَأَصۡلَحُواْ
wa-aslahu
and reform
فَإِنَّ
fa-inna
Then indeed
ٱللَّهَ
al-laha
Allah
غَفُورٞ
ghafurun
(is) Oft-Forgiving
رَّحِيمٞ
rahimun
Most Merciful
٥
24:6
وَٱلَّذِينَ
wa-alladhina
And those who
يَرۡمُونَ
yarmuna
accuse
أَزۡوَٰجَهُمۡ
azwajahum
their spouses
وَلَمۡ
walam
and not
يَكُن
yakun
have
لَّهُمۡ
lahum
for them
شُهَدَآءُ
shuhadau
witnesses
إِلَّآ
illa
except
أَنفُسُهُمۡ
anfusuhum
themselves
فَشَهَٰدَةُ
fashahadatu
then (the) testimony
أَحَدِهِمۡ
ahadihim
(of) one of them
أَرۡبَعُ
arba'u
(is) four
شَهَٰدَٰتِۭ
shahadatin
testimonies
بِٱللَّهِ
bil-lahi
by Allah
إِنَّهُۥ
innahu
that he
لَمِنَ
lamina
(is) surely of
ٱلصَّٰدِقِينَ
al-sadiqina
the truthful
٦
24:7
وَٱلۡخَٰمِسَةُ
wal-khamisatu
And the fifth
أَنَّ
anna
that
لَعۡنَتَ
la'nata
(the) curse of Allah
ٱللَّهِ
al-lahi
(the) curse of Allah
عَلَيۡهِ
alayhi
(be) upon him
إِن
in
if
كَانَ
kana
he is
مِنَ
mina
of
ٱلۡكَٰذِبِينَ
al-kadhibina
the liars
٧
24:8
وَيَدۡرَؤُاْ
wayadra-u
But it would prevent
عَنۡهَا
anha
from her
ٱلۡعَذَابَ
al-'adhaba
the punishment
أَن
an
that
تَشۡهَدَ
tashhada
she bears witness
أَرۡبَعَ
arba'a
four
شَهَٰدَٰتِۭ
shahadatin
testimonies
بِٱللَّهِ
bil-lahi
by Allah
إِنَّهُۥ
innahu
that he
لَمِنَ
lamina
(is) surely of
ٱلۡكَٰذِبِينَ
al-kadhibina
the liars
٨
24:9
وَٱلۡخَٰمِسَةَ
wal-khamisata
And the fifth
أَنَّ
anna
that
غَضَبَ
ghadaba
the wrath of Allah
ٱللَّهِ
al-lahi
the wrath of Allah
عَلَيۡهَآ
alayha
(be) upon her
إِن
in
if
كَانَ
kana
he is
مِنَ
mina
of
ٱلصَّٰدِقِينَ
al-sadiqina
the truthful
٩
24:10
وَلَوۡلَا
walawla
And if not
فَضۡلُ
fadlu
(for) the Grace of Allah
ٱللَّهِ
al-lahi
(for) the Grace of Allah
عَلَيۡكُمۡ
alaykum
upon you
وَرَحۡمَتُهُۥ
warahmatuhu
and His Mercy
وَأَنَّ
wa-anna
and that
ٱللَّهَ
al-laha
Allah
تَوَّابٌ
tawwabun
(is) Oft-Returning (to Mercy)
حَكِيمٌ
hakimun
All-Wise

إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhina
those who
جَآءُو
jau
brought
بِٱلۡإِفۡكِ
bil-if'ki
the lie
عُصۡبَةٞ
us'batun
(are) a group
مِّنكُمۡۚ
minkum
among you
لَا
la
(Do) not
تَحۡسَبُوهُ
tahsabuhu
think it
شَرّٗا
sharran
bad
لَّكُمۖ
lakum
for you
بَلۡ
bal
nay
هُوَ
huwa
it
خَيۡرٞ
khayrun
(is) good
لَّكُمۡۚ
lakum
for you
لِكُلِّ
likulli
For every
ٱمۡرِيٕٖ
im'ri-in
person
مِّنۡهُم
min'hum
among them
مَّا
ma
(is) what
ٱكۡتَسَبَ
ik'tasaba
he earned
مِنَ
mina
of
ٱلۡإِثۡمِۚ
al-ith'mi
the sin
وَٱلَّذِي
wa-alladhi
and the one who
تَوَلَّىٰ
tawalla
took upon himself a greater share of it
كِبۡرَهُۥ
kib'rahu
took upon himself a greater share of it
مِنۡهُمۡ
min'hum
among them
لَهُۥ
lahu
for him
عَذَابٌ
adhabun
(is) a punishment
عَظِيمٞ
azimun
great
١١
24:12
لَّوۡلَآ
lawla
Why not
إِذۡ
idh
when
سَمِعۡتُمُوهُ
sami'tumuhu
you heard it
ظَنَّ
zanna
think
ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنُونَ
al-mu'minuna
the believing men
وَٱلۡمُؤۡمِنَٰتُ
wal-mu'minatu
and the believing women
بِأَنفُسِهِمۡ
bi-anfusihim
good of themselves
خَيۡرٗا
khayran
good of themselves
وَقَالُواْ
waqalu
and say
هَٰذَآ
hadha
This
إِفۡكٞ
if'kun
(is) a lie
مُّبِينٞ
mubinun
clear
١٢
24:13
لَّوۡلَا
lawla
Why (did) not
جَآءُو
jau
they bring
عَلَيۡهِ
alayhi
for it
بِأَرۡبَعَةِ
bi-arba'ati
four
شُهَدَآءَۚ
shuhadaa
witnesses
فَإِذۡ
fa-idh
Then when
لَمۡ
lam
not
يَأۡتُواْ
yatu
they brought
بِٱلشُّهَدَآءِ
bil-shuhadai
the witnesses
فَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ
fa-ulaika
then those
عِندَ
inda
near Allah
ٱللَّهِ
al-lahi
near Allah
هُمُ
humu
they
ٱلۡكَٰذِبُونَ
al-kadhibuna
(are) the liars
١٣
24:14
وَلَوۡلَا
walawla
And if not
فَضۡلُ
fadlu
(for the) Grace
ٱللَّهِ
al-lahi
(of) Allah
عَلَيۡكُمۡ
alaykum
upon you
وَرَحۡمَتُهُۥ
warahmatuhu
and His Mercy
فِي
fi
in
ٱلدُّنۡيَا
al-dun'ya
the world
وَٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ
wal-akhirati
and the Hereafter
لَمَسَّكُمۡ
lamassakum
surely would have touched you
فِي
fi
in
مَآ
ma
what
أَفَضۡتُمۡ
afadtum
you had rushed glibly
فِيهِ
fihi
concerning it
عَذَابٌ
adhabun
a punishment
عَظِيمٌ
azimun
great
١٤
24:15
إِذۡ
idh
When
تَلَقَّوۡنَهُۥ
talaqqawnahu
you received it
بِأَلۡسِنَتِكُمۡ
bi-alsinatikum
with your tongues
وَتَقُولُونَ
wataquluna
and you said
بِأَفۡوَاهِكُم
bi-afwahikum
with your mouths
مَّا
ma
what
لَيۡسَ
laysa
not
لَكُم
lakum
for you
بِهِۦ
bihi
of it
عِلۡمٞ
il'mun
any knowledge
وَتَحۡسَبُونَهُۥ
watahsabunahu
and you thought it
هَيِّنٗا
hayyinan
(was) insignificant
وَهُوَ
wahuwa
while it
عِندَ
inda
(was) near Allah
ٱللَّهِ
al-lahi
(was) near Allah
عَظِيمٞ
azimun
great
١٥
24:16
وَلَوۡلَآ
walawla
And why not
إِذۡ
idh
when
سَمِعۡتُمُوهُ
sami'tumuhu
you heard it
قُلۡتُم
qul'tum
you said
مَّا
ma
Not
يَكُونُ
yakunu
it is
لَنَآ
lana
for us
أَن
an
that
نَّتَكَلَّمَ
natakallama
we speak
بِهَٰذَا
bihadha
of this
سُبۡحَٰنَكَ
sub'hanaka
Glory be to You
هَٰذَا
hadha
This
بُهۡتَٰنٌ
buh'tanun
(is) a slander
عَظِيمٞ
azimun
great
١٦
24:17
يَعِظُكُمُ
ya'izukumu
Allah warns you
ٱللَّهُ
al-lahu
Allah warns you
أَن
an
that
تَعُودُواْ
ta'udu
you return
لِمِثۡلِهِۦٓ
limith'lihi
(to the) like of it
أَبَدًا
abadan
ever
إِن
in
if
كُنتُم
kuntum
you are
مُّؤۡمِنِينَ
mu'minina
believers
١٧
24:18
وَيُبَيِّنُ
wayubayyinu
And Allah makes clear
ٱللَّهُ
al-lahu
And Allah makes clear
لَكُمُ
lakumu
to you
ٱلۡأٓيَٰتِۚ
al-ayati
the Verses
وَٱللَّهُ
wal-lahu
And Allah
عَلِيمٌ
alimun
(is) All-Knower
حَكِيمٌ
hakimun
All-Wise
١٨
24:19
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhina
those who
يُحِبُّونَ
yuhibbuna
like
أَن
an
that
تَشِيعَ
tashi'a
(should) spread
ٱلۡفَٰحِشَةُ
al-fahishatu
the immorality
فِي
fi
among
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhina
those who
ءَامَنُواْ
amanu
believe
لَهُمۡ
lahum
for them
عَذَابٌ
adhabun
(is) a punishment
أَلِيمٞ
alimun
painful
فِي
fi
in
ٱلدُّنۡيَا
al-dun'ya
the world
وَٱلۡأٓخِرَةِۚ
wal-akhirati
and the Hereafter
وَٱللَّهُ
wal-lahu
And Allah
يَعۡلَمُ
ya'lamu
knows
وَأَنتُمۡ
wa-antum
while you
لَا
la
(do) not
تَعۡلَمُونَ
ta'lamuna
know
١٩
24:20
وَلَوۡلَا
walawla
And if not
فَضۡلُ
fadlu
(for the) Grace of Allah
ٱللَّهِ
al-lahi
(for the) Grace of Allah
عَلَيۡكُمۡ
alaykum
upon you
وَرَحۡمَتُهُۥ
warahmatuhu
and His Mercy
وَأَنَّ
wa-anna
And that
ٱللَّهَ
al-laha
Allah
رَءُوفٞ
raufun
(is) Full of Kindness
رَّحِيمٞ
rahimun
Most Merciful

24:21
۞يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
yaayyuha
O you who believe
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhina
O you who believe
ءَامَنُواْ
amanu
O you who believe
لَا
la
(Do) not
تَتَّبِعُواْ
tattabi'u
follow
خُطُوَٰتِ
khutuwati
(the) footsteps
ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنِۚ
al-shaytani
(of) the Shaitaan
وَمَن
waman
and whoever
يَتَّبِعۡ
yattabi'
follows
خُطُوَٰتِ
khutuwati
(the) footsteps
ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنِ
al-shaytani
(of) the Shaitaan
فَإِنَّهُۥ
fa-innahu
then indeed he
يَأۡمُرُ
yamuru
commands
بِٱلۡفَحۡشَآءِ
bil-fahshai
the immorality
وَٱلۡمُنكَرِۚ
wal-munkari
and the evil
وَلَوۡلَا
walawla
And if not
فَضۡلُ
fadlu
(for the) Grace of Allah
ٱللَّهِ
al-lahi
(for the) Grace of Allah
عَلَيۡكُمۡ
alaykum
upon you
وَرَحۡمَتُهُۥ
warahmatuhu
and His Mercy
مَا
ma
not
زَكَىٰ
zaka
(would) have been pure
مِنكُم
minkum
among you
مِّنۡ
min
anyone
أَحَدٍ
ahadin
anyone
أَبَدٗا
abadan
ever
وَلَٰكِنَّ
walakinna
but
ٱللَّهَ
al-laha
Allah
يُزَكِّي
yuzakki
purifies
مَن
man
whom
يَشَآءُۗ
yashau
He wills
وَٱللَّهُ
wal-lahu
And Allah
سَمِيعٌ
sami'un
(is) All-Hearer
عَلِيمٞ
alimun
All-Knower
٢١
24:22
وَلَا
wala
And not
يَأۡتَلِ
yatali
let swear
أُوْلُواْ
ulu
those of virtue
ٱلۡفَضۡلِ
al-fadli
those of virtue
مِنكُمۡ
minkum
among you
وَٱلسَّعَةِ
wal-sa'ati
and the amplitude of means
أَن
an
that
يُؤۡتُوٓاْ
yu'tu
they give
أُوْلِي
uli
(to) the near of kin
ٱلۡقُرۡبَىٰ
al-qur'ba
(to) the near of kin
وَٱلۡمَسَٰكِينَ
wal-masakina
and the needy
وَٱلۡمُهَٰجِرِينَ
wal-muhajirina
and the emigrants
فِي
fi
in
سَبِيلِ
sabili
(the) way
ٱللَّهِۖ
al-lahi
(of) Allah
وَلۡيَعۡفُواْ
walya'fu
And let them pardon
وَلۡيَصۡفَحُوٓاْۗ
walyasfahu
and let them overlook
أَلَا
ala
(Do) not
تُحِبُّونَ
tuhibbuna
you like
أَن
an
that
يَغۡفِرَ
yaghfira
Allah should forgive
ٱللَّهُ
al-lahu
Allah should forgive
لَكُمۡۚ
lakum
you
وَٱللَّهُ
wal-lahu
And Allah
غَفُورٞ
ghafurun
(is) Oft-Forgiving
رَّحِيمٌ
rahimun
Most Merciful
٢٢
24:23
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhina
those who
يَرۡمُونَ
yarmuna
accuse
ٱلۡمُحۡصَنَٰتِ
al-muh'sanati
the chaste women
ٱلۡغَٰفِلَٰتِ
al-ghafilati
the unaware women
ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنَٰتِ
al-mu'minati
(and) the believing women
لُعِنُواْ
lu'inu
are cursed
فِي
fi
in
ٱلدُّنۡيَا
al-dun'ya
the world
وَٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ
wal-akhirati
and the Hereafter
وَلَهُمۡ
walahum
And for them
عَذَابٌ
adhabun
(is) a punishment
عَظِيمٞ
azimun
great
٢٣
24:24
يَوۡمَ
yawma
(On a) Day
تَشۡهَدُ
tashhadu
will bear witness
عَلَيۡهِمۡ
alayhim
against them
أَلۡسِنَتُهُمۡ
alsinatuhum
their tongues
وَأَيۡدِيهِمۡ
wa-aydihim
and their hands
وَأَرۡجُلُهُم
wa-arjuluhum
and their feet
بِمَا
bima
for what
كَانُواْ
kanu
they used
يَعۡمَلُونَ
ya'maluna
(to) do
٢٤
24:25
يَوۡمَئِذٖ
yawma-idhin
That Day
يُوَفِّيهِمُ
yuwaffihimu
Allah will pay them in full
ٱللَّهُ
al-lahu
Allah will pay them in full
دِينَهُمُ
dinahumu
their recompense
ٱلۡحَقَّ
al-haqa
the due
وَيَعۡلَمُونَ
waya'lamuna
and they will know
أَنَّ
anna
that
ٱللَّهَ
al-laha
Allah
هُوَ
huwa
He
ٱلۡحَقُّ
al-haqu
(is) the Truth
ٱلۡمُبِينُ
al-mubinu
the Manifest
٢٥
24:26
ٱلۡخَبِيثَٰتُ
al-khabithatu
Evil women
لِلۡخَبِيثِينَ
lil'khabithina
(are) for evil men
وَٱلۡخَبِيثُونَ
wal-khabithuna
and evil men
لِلۡخَبِيثَٰتِۖ
lil'khabithati
(are) for evil women
وَٱلطَّيِّبَٰتُ
wal-tayibatu
And good women
لِلطَّيِّبِينَ
lilttayyibina
(are) for good men
وَٱلطَّيِّبُونَ
wal-tayibuna
and good men
لِلطَّيِّبَٰتِۚ
lilttayyibati
(are) for good women
أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ
ulaika
Those
مُبَرَّءُونَ
mubarrauna
(are) innocent
مِمَّا
mimma
of what
يَقُولُونَۖ
yaquluna
they say
لَهُم
lahum
For them
مَّغۡفِرَةٞ
maghfiratun
(is) forgiveness
وَرِزۡقٞ
wariz'qun
and a provision
كَرِيمٞ
karimun
noble
٢٦
24:27
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
yaayyuha
O you
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhina
who
ءَامَنُواْ
amanu
believe
لَا
la
(Do) not
تَدۡخُلُواْ
tadkhulu
enter
بُيُوتًا
buyutan
houses
غَيۡرَ
ghayra
other (than)
بُيُوتِكُمۡ
buyutikum
your houses
حَتَّىٰ
hatta
until
تَسۡتَأۡنِسُواْ
tastanisu
you have asked permission
وَتُسَلِّمُواْ
watusallimu
and you have greeted
عَلَىٰٓ
ala
[on]
أَهۡلِهَاۚ
ahliha
its inhabitants
ذَٰلِكُمۡ
dhalikum
That
خَيۡرٞ
khayrun
(is) best
لَّكُمۡ
lakum
for you
لَعَلَّكُمۡ
la'allakum
so that you may
تَذَكَّرُونَ
tadhakkaruna
pay heed

24:28
فَإِن
fa-in
But if
لَّمۡ
lam
not
تَجِدُواْ
tajidu
you find
فِيهَآ
fiha
in it
أَحَدٗا
ahadan
anyone
فَلَا
fala
then (do) not
تَدۡخُلُوهَا
tadkhuluha
enter it
حَتَّىٰ
hatta
until
يُؤۡذَنَ
yu'dhana
permission has been given
لَكُمۡۖ
lakum
to you
وَإِن
wa-in
And if
قِيلَ
qila
it is said
لَكُمُ
lakumu
to you
ٱرۡجِعُواْ
ir'ji'u
Go back
فَٱرۡجِعُواْۖ
fa-ir'ji'u
then go back
هُوَ
huwa
it
أَزۡكَىٰ
azka
(is) purer
لَكُمۡۚ
lakum
for you
وَٱللَّهُ
wal-lahu
And Allah
بِمَا
bima
of what
تَعۡمَلُونَ
ta'maluna
you do
عَلِيمٞ
alimun
(is) All-Knower
٢٨
24:29
لَّيۡسَ
laysa
Not
عَلَيۡكُمۡ
alaykum
upon you
جُنَاحٌ
junahun
(is) any blame
أَن
an
that
تَدۡخُلُواْ
tadkhulu
you enter
بُيُوتًا
buyutan
houses
غَيۡرَ
ghayra
not
مَسۡكُونَةٖ
maskunatin
inhabited
فِيهَا
fiha
in it
مَتَٰعٞ
mata'un
(is) a provision
لَّكُمۡۚ
lakum
for you
وَٱللَّهُ
wal-lahu
And Allah
يَعۡلَمُ
ya'lamu
knows
مَا
ma
what
تُبۡدُونَ
tub'duna
you reveal
وَمَا
wama
and what
تَكۡتُمُونَ
taktumuna
you conceal
٢٩
24:30
قُل
qul
Say
لِّلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
lil'mu'minina
to the believing men
يَغُضُّواْ
yaghuddu
they should lower
مِنۡ
min
their gaze
أَبۡصَٰرِهِمۡ
absarihim
their gaze
وَيَحۡفَظُواْ
wayahfazu
and they should guard
فُرُوجَهُمۡۚ
furujahum
their chastity
ذَٰلِكَ
dhalika
That
أَزۡكَىٰ
azka
(is) purer
لَهُمۡۚ
lahum
for them
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
al-laha
Allah
خَبِيرُۢ
khabirun
(is) All-Aware
بِمَا
bima
of what
يَصۡنَعُونَ
yasna'una
they do
٣٠
24:31
وَقُل
waqul
And say
لِّلۡمُؤۡمِنَٰتِ
lil'mu'minati
to the believing women
يَغۡضُضۡنَ
yaghdud'na
(that) they should lower
مِنۡ
min
[of]
أَبۡصَٰرِهِنَّ
absarihinna
their gaze
وَيَحۡفَظۡنَ
wayahfazna
and they should guard
فُرُوجَهُنَّ
furujahunna
their chastity
وَلَا
wala
and not
يُبۡدِينَ
yub'dina
(to) display
زِينَتَهُنَّ
zinatahunna
their adornment
إِلَّا
illa
except
مَا
ma
what
ظَهَرَ
zahara
is apparent
مِنۡهَاۖ
min'ha
of it
وَلۡيَضۡرِبۡنَ
walyadrib'na
And let them draw
بِخُمُرِهِنَّ
bikhumurihinna
their head covers
عَلَىٰ
ala
over
جُيُوبِهِنَّۖ
juyubihinna
their bosoms
وَلَا
wala
and not
يُبۡدِينَ
yub'dina
(to) display
زِينَتَهُنَّ
zinatahunna
their adornment
إِلَّا
illa
except
لِبُعُولَتِهِنَّ
libu'ulatihinna
to their husbands
أَوۡ
aw
or
ءَابَآئِهِنَّ
abaihinna
their fathers
أَوۡ
aw
or
ءَابَآءِ
abai
fathers
بُعُولَتِهِنَّ
bu'ulatihinna
(of) their husbands
أَوۡ
aw
or
أَبۡنَآئِهِنَّ
abnaihinna
their sons
أَوۡ
aw
or
أَبۡنَآءِ
abnai
sons
بُعُولَتِهِنَّ
bu'ulatihinna
(of) their husbands
أَوۡ
aw
or
إِخۡوَٰنِهِنَّ
ikh'wanihinna
their brothers
أَوۡ
aw
or
بَنِيٓ
bani
sons
إِخۡوَٰنِهِنَّ
ikh'wanihinna
(of) their brothers
أَوۡ
aw
or
بَنِيٓ
bani
sons
أَخَوَٰتِهِنَّ
akhawatihinna
(of) their sisters
أَوۡ
aw
or
نِسَآئِهِنَّ
nisaihinna
their women
أَوۡ
aw
or
مَا
ma
what
مَلَكَتۡ
malakat
possess
أَيۡمَٰنُهُنَّ
aymanuhunna
their right hands
أَوِ
awi
or
ٱلتَّٰبِعِينَ
al-tabi'ina
the attendants
غَيۡرِ
ghayri
having no physical desire
أُوْلِي
uli
having no physical desire
ٱلۡإِرۡبَةِ
al-ir'bati
having no physical desire
مِنَ
mina
among
ٱلرِّجَالِ
al-rijali
[the] men
أَوِ
awi
or
ٱلطِّفۡلِ
al-tif'li
[the] children
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhina
who
لَمۡ
lam
(are) not
يَظۡهَرُواْ
yazharu
aware
عَلَىٰ
ala
of
عَوۡرَٰتِ
awrati
private aspects
ٱلنِّسَآءِۖ
al-nisai
(of) the women
وَلَا
wala
And not
يَضۡرِبۡنَ
yadrib'na
let them stamp
بِأَرۡجُلِهِنَّ
bi-arjulihinna
their feet
لِيُعۡلَمَ
liyu'lama
to make known
مَا
ma
what
يُخۡفِينَ
yukh'fina
they conceal
مِن
min
of
زِينَتِهِنَّۚ
zinatihinna
their adornment
وَتُوبُوٓاْ
watubu
And turn
إِلَى
ila
to
ٱللَّهِ
al-lahi
Allah
جَمِيعًا
jami'an
altogether
أَيُّهَ
ayyuha
O believers
ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنُونَ
al-mu'minuna
O believers
لَعَلَّكُمۡ
la'allakum
So that you may
تُفۡلِحُونَ
tuf'lihuna
succeed

وَأَنكِحُواْ
wa-ankihu
And marry
ٱلۡأَيَٰمَىٰ
al-ayama
the single
مِنكُمۡ
minkum
among you
وَٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ
wal-salihina
and the righteous
مِنۡ
min
among
عِبَادِكُمۡ
ibadikum
your male slaves
وَإِمَآئِكُمۡۚ
wa-imaikum
and your female slaves
إِن
in
If
يَكُونُواْ
yakunu
they are
فُقَرَآءَ
fuqaraa
poor
يُغۡنِهِمُ
yugh'nihimu
Allah will enrich them
ٱللَّهُ
al-lahu
Allah will enrich them
مِن
min
from
فَضۡلِهِۦۗ
fadlihi
His Bounty
وَٱللَّهُ
wal-lahu
And Allah
وَٰسِعٌ
wasi'un
(is) All-Encompassing
عَلِيمٞ
alimun
All-Knowing
٣٢
24:33
وَلۡيَسۡتَعۡفِفِ
walyasta'fifi
And let be chaste
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhina
those who
لَا
la
(do) not
يَجِدُونَ
yajiduna
find
نِكَاحًا
nikahan
(means for) marriage
حَتَّىٰ
hatta
until
يُغۡنِيَهُمُ
yugh'niyahumu
Allah enriches them
ٱللَّهُ
al-lahu
Allah enriches them
مِن
min
from
فَضۡلِهِۦۗ
fadlihi
His Bounty
وَٱلَّذِينَ
wa-alladhina
And those who
يَبۡتَغُونَ
yabtaghuna
seek
ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ
al-kitaba
the writing
مِمَّا
mimma
from (those) whom
مَلَكَتۡ
malakat
possess
أَيۡمَٰنُكُمۡ
aymanukum
your right hands
فَكَاتِبُوهُمۡ
fakatibuhum
then give them (the) writing
إِنۡ
in
if
عَلِمۡتُمۡ
alim'tum
you know
فِيهِمۡ
fihim
in them
خَيۡرٗاۖ
khayran
any good
وَءَاتُوهُم
waatuhum
and give them
مِّن
min
from
مَّالِ
mali
the wealth of Allah
ٱللَّهِ
al-lahi
the wealth of Allah
ٱلَّذِيٓ
alladhi
which
ءَاتَىٰكُمۡۚ
atakum
He has given you
وَلَا
wala
And (do) not
تُكۡرِهُواْ
tuk'rihu
compel
فَتَيَٰتِكُمۡ
fatayatikum
your slave girls
عَلَى
ala
to
ٱلۡبِغَآءِ
al-bighai
[the] prostitution
إِنۡ
in
if
أَرَدۡنَ
aradna
they desire
تَحَصُّنٗا
tahassunan
chastity
لِّتَبۡتَغُواْ
litabtaghu
that you may seek
عَرَضَ
arada
temporary gain
ٱلۡحَيَوٰةِ
al-hayati
(of) the life
ٱلدُّنۡيَاۚ
al-dun'ya
(of) the world
وَمَن
waman
And whoever
يُكۡرِههُّنَّ
yuk'rihhunna
compels them
فَإِنَّ
fa-inna
then indeed
ٱللَّهَ
al-laha
Allah
مِنۢ
min
after
بَعۡدِ
ba'di
after
إِكۡرَٰهِهِنَّ
ik'rahihinna
their compulsion
غَفُورٞ
ghafurun
(is) Oft-Forgiving
رَّحِيمٞ
rahimun
Most Merciful

24:34
وَلَقَدۡ
walaqad
And verily
أَنزَلۡنَآ
anzalna
We have sent down
إِلَيۡكُمۡ
ilaykum
to you
ءَايَٰتٖ
ayatin
Verses
مُّبَيِّنَٰتٖ
mubayyinatin
clear
وَمَثَلٗا
wamathalan
and an example
مِّنَ
mina
of
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhina
those who
خَلَوۡاْ
khalaw
passed away
مِن
min
before you
قَبۡلِكُمۡ
qablikum
before you
وَمَوۡعِظَةٗ
wamaw'izatan
and an admonition
لِّلۡمُتَّقِينَ
lil'muttaqina
for those who fear (Allah)

24:35
۞ٱللَّهُ
al-lahu
Allah
نُورُ
nuru
(is the) Light
ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ
al-samawati
(of) the heavens
وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ
wal-ardi
and the earth
مَثَلُ
mathalu
(The) example
نُورِهِۦ
nurihi
(of) His Light
كَمِشۡكَوٰةٖ
kamish'katin
(is) like a niche
فِيهَا
fiha
in it
مِصۡبَاحٌۖ
mis'bahun
(is) a lamp
ٱلۡمِصۡبَاحُ
al-mis'bahu
the lamp
فِي
fi
(is) in
زُجَاجَةٍۖ
zujajatin
a glass
ٱلزُّجَاجَةُ
al-zujajatu
the glass
كَأَنَّهَا
ka-annaha
as if it were
كَوۡكَبٞ
kawkabun
a star
دُرِّيّٞ
durriyyun
brilliant
يُوقَدُ
yuqadu
(which) is lit
مِن
min
from
شَجَرَةٖ
shajaratin
a tree
مُّبَٰرَكَةٖ
mubarakatin
blessed
زَيۡتُونَةٖ
zaytunatin
an olive
لَّا
la
not
شَرۡقِيَّةٖ
sharqiyyatin
(of the) east
وَلَا
wala
and not
غَرۡبِيَّةٖ
gharbiyyatin
(of the) west
يَكَادُ
yakadu
would almost
زَيۡتُهَا
zaytuha
its oil
يُضِيٓءُ
yudiu
glow
وَلَوۡ
walaw
even if
لَمۡ
lam
not
تَمۡسَسۡهُ
tamsashu
touched it
نَارٞۚ
narun
fire
نُّورٌ
nurun
Light
عَلَىٰ
ala
upon
نُورٖۚ
nurin
Light
يَهۡدِي
yahdi
Allah guides
ٱللَّهُ
al-lahu
Allah guides
لِنُورِهِۦ
linurihi
to His Light
مَن
man
whom
يَشَآءُۚ
yashau
He wills
وَيَضۡرِبُ
wayadribu
And Allah sets forth
ٱللَّهُ
al-lahu
And Allah sets forth
ٱلۡأَمۡثَٰلَ
al-amthala
the examples
لِلنَّاسِۗ
lilnnasi
for the mankind
وَٱللَّهُ
wal-lahu
And Allah
بِكُلِّ
bikulli
of every
شَيۡءٍ
shayin
thing
عَلِيمٞ
alimun
(is) All-Knower

24:36
فِي
fi
In
بُيُوتٍ
buyutin
houses
أَذِنَ
adhina
(which) Allah ordered
ٱللَّهُ
al-lahu
(which) Allah ordered
أَن
an
that
تُرۡفَعَ
tur'fa'a
they be raised
وَيُذۡكَرَ
wayudh'kara
and be mentioned
فِيهَا
fiha
in them
ٱسۡمُهُۥ
us'muhu
His name
يُسَبِّحُ
yusabbihu
Glorify
لَهُۥ
lahu
[to] Him
فِيهَا
fiha
in them
بِٱلۡغُدُوِّ
bil-ghuduwi
in the mornings
وَٱلۡأٓصَالِ
wal-asali
and (in) the evenings

رِجَالٞ
rijalun
Men
لَّا
la
not
تُلۡهِيهِمۡ
tul'hihim
distracts them
تِجَٰرَةٞ
tijaratun
trade
وَلَا
wala
and not
بَيۡعٌ
bay'un
sale
عَن
an
from
ذِكۡرِ
dhik'ri
(the) remembrance of Allah
ٱللَّهِ
al-lahi
(the) remembrance of Allah
وَإِقَامِ
wa-iqami
and (from) establishing
ٱلصَّلَوٰةِ
al-salati
the prayer
وَإِيتَآءِ
waitai
and giving
ٱلزَّكَوٰةِ
al-zakati
zakah
يَخَافُونَ
yakhafuna
They fear
يَوۡمٗا
yawman
a Day
تَتَقَلَّبُ
tataqallabu
will turn about
فِيهِ
fihi
therein
ٱلۡقُلُوبُ
al-qulubu
the hearts
وَٱلۡأَبۡصَٰرُ
wal-absaru
and the eyes
٣٧
24:38
لِيَجۡزِيَهُمُ
liyajziyahumu
That Allah may reward them
ٱللَّهُ
al-lahu
That Allah may reward them
أَحۡسَنَ
ahsana
(with the) best
مَا
ma
(of) what
عَمِلُواْ
amilu
they did
وَيَزِيدَهُم
wayazidahum
and increase them
مِّن
min
from
فَضۡلِهِۦۗ
fadlihi
His Bounty
وَٱللَّهُ
wal-lahu
And Allah
يَرۡزُقُ
yarzuqu
provides
مَن
man
whom
يَشَآءُ
yashau
He wills
بِغَيۡرِ
bighayri
without
حِسَابٖ
hisabin
measure
٣٨
24:39
وَٱلَّذِينَ
wa-alladhina
But those who
كَفَرُوٓاْ
kafaru
disbelieve
أَعۡمَٰلُهُمۡ
a'maluhum
their deeds
كَسَرَابِۭ
kasarabin
(are) like a mirage
بِقِيعَةٖ
biqi'atin
in a lowland
يَحۡسَبُهُ
yahsabuhu
thinks it
ٱلظَّمۡـَٔانُ
al-zamanu
the thirsty one
مَآءً
maan
(to be) water
حَتَّىٰٓ
hatta
until
إِذَا
idha
when
جَآءَهُۥ
jaahu
he comes to it
لَمۡ
lam
not
يَجِدۡهُ
yajid'hu
he finds it
شَيۡـٔٗا
shayan
(to be) anything
وَوَجَدَ
wawajada
but he finds
ٱللَّهَ
al-laha
Allah
عِندَهُۥ
indahu
before him
فَوَفَّىٰهُ
fawaffahu
He will pay him in full
حِسَابَهُۥۗ
hisabahu
his due
وَٱللَّهُ
wal-lahu
And Allah
سَرِيعُ
sari'u
(is) swift
ٱلۡحِسَابِ
al-hisabi
(in) the account
٣٩
24:40
أَوۡ
aw
Or
كَظُلُمَٰتٖ
kazulumatin
(is) like (the) darkness[es]
فِي
fi
in
بَحۡرٖ
bahrin
a sea
لُّجِّيّٖ
lujjiyyin
deep
يَغۡشَىٰهُ
yaghshahu
covers it
مَوۡجٞ
mawjun
a wave
مِّن
min
on it
فَوۡقِهِۦ
fawqihi
on it
مَوۡجٞ
mawjun
a wave
مِّن
min
on it
فَوۡقِهِۦ
fawqihi
on it
سَحَابٞۚ
sahabun
a cloud
ظُلُمَٰتُۢ
zulumatun
darkness[es]
بَعۡضُهَا
ba'duha
some of it
فَوۡقَ
fawqa
on
بَعۡضٍ
ba'din
others
إِذَآ
idha
When
أَخۡرَجَ
akhraja
he puts out
يَدَهُۥ
yadahu
his hand
لَمۡ
lam
hardly
يَكَدۡ
yakad
hardly
يَرَىٰهَاۗ
yaraha
he (can) see it
وَمَن
waman
And (for) whom
لَّمۡ
lam
not
يَجۡعَلِ
yaj'ali
Allah (has) made
ٱللَّهُ
al-lahu
Allah (has) made
لَهُۥ
lahu
for him
نُورٗا
nuran
a light
فَمَا
fama
then not
لَهُۥ
lahu
for him
مِن
min
(is) any
نُّورٍ
nurin
light
٤٠
24:41
أَلَمۡ
alam
Do not
تَرَ
tara
you see
أَنَّ
anna
that
ٱللَّهَ
al-laha
Allah
يُسَبِّحُ
yusabbihu
glorify
لَهُۥ
lahu
Him
مَن
man
whoever
فِي
fi
(is) in
ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ
al-samawati
the heavens
وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ
wal-ardi
and the earth
وَٱلطَّيۡرُ
wal-tayru
and the birds
صَٰٓفَّٰتٖۖ
saffatin
(with) wings outspread
كُلّٞ
kullun
Each one
قَدۡ
qad
verily
عَلِمَ
alima
knows
صَلَاتَهُۥ
salatahu
its prayer
وَتَسۡبِيحَهُۥۗ
watasbihahu
and its glorification
وَٱللَّهُ
wal-lahu
And Allah
عَلِيمُۢ
alimun
(is) All-Knower
بِمَا
bima
of what
يَفۡعَلُونَ
yaf 'aluna
they do
٤١
24:42
وَلِلَّهِ
walillahi
And to Allah (belongs)
مُلۡكُ
mul'ku
(the) dominion
ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ
al-samawati
(of) the heavens
وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۖ
wal-ardi
and the earth
وَإِلَى
wa-ila
And to
ٱللَّهِ
al-lahi
Allah
ٱلۡمَصِيرُ
al-masiru
(is) the destination
٤٢
24:43
أَلَمۡ
alam
Do not
تَرَ
tara
you see
أَنَّ
anna
that
ٱللَّهَ
al-laha
Allah
يُزۡجِي
yuz'ji
drives
سَحَابٗا
sahaban
clouds
ثُمَّ
thumma
then
يُؤَلِّفُ
yu-allifu
joins
بَيۡنَهُۥ
baynahu
between them
ثُمَّ
thumma
then
يَجۡعَلُهُۥ
yaj'aluhu
makes them
رُكَامٗا
rukaman
(into) a mass
فَتَرَى
fatara
then you see
ٱلۡوَدۡقَ
al-wadqa
the rain
يَخۡرُجُ
yakhruju
come forth
مِنۡ
min
from
خِلَٰلِهِۦ
khilalihi
their midst
وَيُنَزِّلُ
wayunazzilu
And He sends down
مِنَ
mina
from
ٱلسَّمَآءِ
al-samai
(the) sky
مِن
min
[from]
جِبَالٖ
jibalin
mountains
فِيهَا
fiha
within it
مِنۢ
min
[of]
بَرَدٖ
baradin
(is) hail
فَيُصِيبُ
fayusibu
and He strikes
بِهِۦ
bihi
with it
مَن
man
whom
يَشَآءُ
yashau
He wills
وَيَصۡرِفُهُۥ
wayasrifuhu
and averts it
عَن
an
from
مَّن
man
whom
يَشَآءُۖ
yashau
He wills
يَكَادُ
yakadu
Nearly
سَنَا
sana
(the) flash
بَرۡقِهِۦ
barqihi
(of) its lighting
يَذۡهَبُ
yadhhabu
takes away
بِٱلۡأَبۡصَٰرِ
bil-absari
the sight

يُقَلِّبُ
yuqallibu
Allah alternates
ٱللَّهُ
al-lahu
Allah alternates
ٱلَّيۡلَ
al-layla
the night
وَٱلنَّهَارَۚ
wal-nahara
and the day
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
فِي
fi
in
ذَٰلِكَ
dhalika
that
لَعِبۡرَةٗ
la'ib'ratan
surely is a lesson
لِّأُوْلِي
li-uli
for those who have vision
ٱلۡأَبۡصَٰرِ
al-absari
for those who have vision
٤٤
24:45
وَٱللَّهُ
wal-lahu
And Allah
خَلَقَ
khalaqa
created
كُلَّ
kulla
every
دَآبَّةٖ
dabbatin
moving creature
مِّن
min
from
مَّآءٖۖ
main
water
فَمِنۡهُم
famin'hum
Of them
مَّن
man
(is a kind) who
يَمۡشِي
yamshi
walks
عَلَىٰ
ala
on
بَطۡنِهِۦ
batnihi
its belly
وَمِنۡهُم
wamin'hum
and of them
مَّن
man
(is a kind) who
يَمۡشِي
yamshi
walks
عَلَىٰ
ala
on
رِجۡلَيۡنِ
rij'layni
two legs
وَمِنۡهُم
wamin'hum
and of them
مَّن
man
(is a kind) who
يَمۡشِي
yamshi
walks
عَلَىٰٓ
ala
on
أَرۡبَعٖۚ
arba'in
four
يَخۡلُقُ
yakhluqu
Allah creates
ٱللَّهُ
al-lahu
Allah creates
مَا
ma
what
يَشَآءُۚ
yashau
He wills
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
al-laha
Allah
عَلَىٰ
ala
on
كُلِّ
kulli
every
شَيۡءٖ
shayin
thing
قَدِيرٞ
qadirun
(is) All-Powerful
٤٥
24:46
لَّقَدۡ
laqad
Verily
أَنزَلۡنَآ
anzalna
We have sent down
ءَايَٰتٖ
ayatin
Verses
مُّبَيِّنَٰتٖۚ
mubayyinatin
clear
وَٱللَّهُ
wal-lahu
And Allah
يَهۡدِي
yahdi
guides
مَن
man
whom
يَشَآءُ
yashau
He wills
إِلَىٰ
ila
to
صِرَٰطٖ
siratin
a path
مُّسۡتَقِيمٖ
mus'taqimin
straight
٤٦
24:47
وَيَقُولُونَ
wayaquluna
And they say
ءَامَنَّا
amanna
We believe
بِٱللَّهِ
bil-lahi
in Allah
وَبِٱلرَّسُولِ
wabil-rasuli
and in the Messenger
وَأَطَعۡنَا
wa-ata'na
and we obey
ثُمَّ
thumma
Then
يَتَوَلَّىٰ
yatawalla
turns away
فَرِيقٞ
fariqun
a party
مِّنۡهُم
min'hum
of them
مِّنۢ
min
after
بَعۡدِ
ba'di
after
ذَٰلِكَۚ
dhalika
that
وَمَآ
wama
And not
أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ
ulaika
those
بِٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
bil-mu'minina
(are) believers
٤٧
24:48
وَإِذَا
wa-idha
And when
دُعُوٓاْ
du'u
they are called
إِلَى
ila
to
ٱللَّهِ
al-lahi
Allah
وَرَسُولِهِۦ
warasulihi
and His Messenger
لِيَحۡكُمَ
liyahkuma
to judge
بَيۡنَهُمۡ
baynahum
between them
إِذَا
idha
behold
فَرِيقٞ
fariqun
a party
مِّنۡهُم
min'hum
of them
مُّعۡرِضُونَ
mu'riduna
(is) averse
٤٨
24:49
وَإِن
wa-in
But if
يَكُن
yakun
is
لَّهُمُ
lahumu
with them
ٱلۡحَقُّ
al-haqu
the truth
يَأۡتُوٓاْ
yatu
they come
إِلَيۡهِ
ilayhi
to him
مُذۡعِنِينَ
mudh'inina
(as) promptly obedient
٤٩
24:50
أَفِي
afi
Is (there) in
قُلُوبِهِم
qulubihim
their hearts
مَّرَضٌ
maradun
a disease
أَمِ
ami
or
ٱرۡتَابُوٓاْ
ir'tabu
do they doubt
أَمۡ
am
or
يَخَافُونَ
yakhafuna
they fear
أَن
an
that
يَحِيفَ
yahifa
Allah will be unjust
ٱللَّهُ
al-lahu
Allah will be unjust
عَلَيۡهِمۡ
alayhim
to them
وَرَسُولُهُۥۚ
warasuluhu
and His Messenger
بَلۡ
bal
Nay
أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ
ulaika
those
هُمُ
humu
[they]
ٱلظَّٰلِمُونَ
al-zalimuna
(are) the wrongdoers
٥٠
