And when
بَوَّأۡنَا

We assigned
لِإِبۡرَٰهِيمَ
liʹIbraaheema
to Ibrahim
مَكَانَ
Makaanal
(the) site
ٱلۡبَيۡتِ
Bayti
(of) the House
أَن
ʹal
That
لَّا
laa
(do) not
تُشۡرِكۡ
tushrik
associate
بِي
bee
with Me
شَيۡـٔٗا
shayʹañw
anything
وَطَهِّرۡ
waṭahhir
and purify
بَيۡتِيَ
Baytiya
My House
لِلطَّآئِفِينَ
liṭ-Ṭaaaʹifeena
for those who circumambulate
وَٱلۡقَآئِمِينَ
wal-Q̣aaaʹimeena
and those who stand
وَٱلرُّكَّعِ
war-Rukkaʻis
and those who bow
ٱلسُّجُودِ
Sujood.
(and) those who prostrate
٢٦
22:27
وَأَذِّن
Wa-ʹaẓẓin
And proclaim
فِي
fin
to
ٱلنَّاسِ
naasi
[the] mankind
بِٱلۡحَجِّ
bil-Ḥajji
[of] the Pilgrimage
يَأۡتُوكَ
yaʹtooka
they will come to you
رِجَالٗا
rijaalañw
(on) foot
وَعَلَىٰ
wa-ʻalaa
and on
كُلِّ
kulli
every
ضَامِرٖ
ḍaamiriñy
lean camel
يَأۡتِينَ
yaʹteena
they will come
مِن
miñ
from
كُلِّ
kulli
every
فَجٍّ
fajjin
mountain highway
عَمِيقٖ
ʻameeq̣;
distant
٢٧
22:28
لِّيَشۡهَدُواْ
Liyashhadoo
That they may witness
مَنَٰفِعَ
manaafiʻa
benefits
لَهُمۡ
lahum
for them
وَيَذۡكُرُواْ
wa-yaẓkurus
and mention
ٱسۡمَ
mal
(the) name
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
(of) Allah
فِيٓ
feee
on
أَيَّامٖ
ʹAyyaamim
days
مَّعۡلُومَٰتٍ
Maʻloomaatin
known
عَلَىٰ
ʻalaa
over
مَا
maa-
what
رَزَقَهُم
razaq̣ahum
He has provided them
مِّنۢ
mim
of
بَهِيمَةِ
baheematil
(the) beast
ٱلۡأَنۡعَٰمِۖ
ʹanʻaam:
(of) cattle
فَكُلُواْ
fakuloo
So eat
مِنۡهَا
minhaa
of them
وَأَطۡعِمُواْ
wa-ʹaṭʻimul
and feed
ٱلۡبَآئِسَ
baaaʹisal
the miserable
ٱلۡفَقِيرَ
faq̣eer.
the poor
٢٨
22:29
ثُمَّ
S̤ummal
Then
لۡيَقۡضُواْ
yaq̣ḍoo
let them end
تَفَثَهُمۡ
tafas̤ahum
their prescribed duties
وَلۡيُوفُواْ
wal-yoofoo
and fulfil
نُذُورَهُمۡ
nuẓoorahum
their vows
وَلۡيَطَّوَّفُواْ
wal-yaṭṭawwafoo
and circumambulate
بِٱلۡبَيۡتِ
bil-Baytil
the House
ٱلۡعَتِيقِ
ʻAteeq̣.
[the] Ancient
٢٩
22:30
ذَٰلِكَۖ
Ẓaalika
That
وَمَن
wa-mañy
and whoever
يُعَظِّمۡ
yuʻaz̤̣z̤̣im
honors
حُرُمَٰتِ
Ḥurumaatil
(the) sacred rites
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
(of) Allah
فَهُوَ
fahuwa
then it
خَيۡرٞ
khayrul
(is) best
لَّهُۥ
lahoo
for him
عِندَ
ʻiñda
near
رَبِّهِۦۗ
Rabbih.
his Lord
وَأُحِلَّتۡ
Wa-ʹuḥillat
And are made lawful
لَكُمُ
lakumul
to you
ٱلۡأَنۡعَٰمُ
ʹanʻaamu
the cattle
إِلَّا
ʹillaa
except
مَا
maa-
what
يُتۡلَىٰ
yutlaa
is recited
عَلَيۡكُمۡۖ
ʻalaykum
to you
فَٱجۡتَنِبُواْ
fajtanibur
So avoid
ٱلرِّجۡسَ
rijsa
the abomination
مِنَ
minal
of
ٱلۡأَوۡثَٰنِ
ʹaws̤aani
the idols
وَٱجۡتَنِبُواْ
wajtaniboo
and avoid
قَوۡلَ
q̣awlaz
(the) word
ٱلزُّورِ
zoor
false
٣٠

22:31
حُنَفَآءَ
Ḥunafaaaʹa
Being upright
لِلَّهِ
lillaahi
to Allah
غَيۡرَ
g̣ayra
not
مُشۡرِكِينَ
mushrikeena
associating partners
بِهِۦۚ
bih:
with Him
وَمَن
wa-mañy
And whoever
يُشۡرِكۡ
yushrik
associates partners
بِٱللَّهِ
billaahi
with Allah
فَكَأَنَّمَا
fakaʹannamaa
then (it is) as though
خَرَّ
kharra
he had fallen
مِنَ
minas
from
ٱلسَّمَآءِ
samaaaʹi
the sky
فَتَخۡطَفُهُ
fatakhṭafuhut
and (had) snatched him
ٱلطَّيۡرُ
ṭayru
the birds
أَوۡ
ʹaw
or
تَهۡوِي
tahwee
had blown
بِهِ
bihir
him
ٱلرِّيحُ
reeḥu
the wind
فِي
fee
to
مَكَانٖ
makaaniñ
a place
سَحِيقٖ
saḥeeq̣.
far off

22:32
ذَٰلِكَۖ
Ẓaalik:
That
وَمَن
wa-mañy
and whoever
يُعَظِّمۡ
yuʻaz̤̣z̤̣im
honors
شَعَٰٓئِرَ
shaʻaaaʹiral
(the) Symbols
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
(of) Allah
فَإِنَّهَا
faʹinnahaa
then indeed it
مِن
miñ
(is) from
تَقۡوَى
taq̣wal
(the) piety
ٱلۡقُلُوبِ
q̣uloob.
(of) the hearts
٣٢
22:33
لَكُمۡ
lakum
For you
فِيهَا
feehaa
therein
مَنَٰفِعُ
manaafiʻu
(are) benefits
إِلَىٰٓ
ʹilaaa
for
أَجَلٖ
ʹajalim
a term
مُّسَمّٗى
musammañ
appointed
ثُمَّ
s̤umma
then
مَحِلُّهَآ
maḥilluhaaa
their place of sacrifice
إِلَى
ʹilal
(is) at
ٱلۡبَيۡتِ
Baytil
the House
ٱلۡعَتِيقِ
ʻAteeq̣.
the Ancient
٣٣
22:34
وَلِكُلِّ
Wa-likulli
And for every
أُمَّةٖ
ʹummatiñ
nation
جَعَلۡنَا
jaʻalnaa
We have appointed
مَنسَكٗا
mañsakal
a rite
لِّيَذۡكُرُواْ
liyaẓkurus
that they may mention
ٱسۡمَ
mal
(the) name
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
(of) Allah
عَلَىٰ
ʻalaa
over
مَا
maa-
what
رَزَقَهُم
razaq̣ahum
He (has) provided them
مِّنۢ
mim
of
بَهِيمَةِ
baheematil
(the) beast
ٱلۡأَنۡعَٰمِۗ
ʹanʻaam.
(of) cattle
فَإِلَٰهُكُمۡ
FaʹIlaahukum
And your God
إِلَٰهٞ
ʹIlaahuñw
(is) God
وَٰحِدٞ
Waaḥiduñ
One
فَلَهُۥٓ
falahooo
so to Him
أَسۡلِمُواْۗ
ʹaslimoo:
submit
وَبَشِّرِ
wa-bashshiril
And give glad tidings
ٱلۡمُخۡبِتِينَ
Mukhbiteen,
(to) the humble ones
٣٤
22:35
ٱلَّذِينَ
ʹAllaẓeena
Those
إِذَا
ʹiẓaa
when
ذُكِرَ
ẓukiral
is mentioned
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah
وَجِلَتۡ
wajilat
fear
قُلُوبُهُمۡ
q̣uloobuhum
their hearts
وَٱلصَّٰبِرِينَ
waṣ-Ṣaabireena
and those who are patient
عَلَىٰ
ʻalaa
over
مَآ
maaa
whatever
أَصَابَهُمۡ
ʹaṣaabahum
has afflicted them
وَٱلۡمُقِيمِي
walmuq̣eemiṣ
and those who establish
ٱلصَّلَوٰةِ
Ṣalaati
the prayer
وَمِمَّا
wa-mimmaa
and out of what
رَزَقۡنَٰهُمۡ
razaq̣naahum
We have provided them
يُنفِقُونَ
yuñfiq̣oon.
they spend
٣٥
22:36
وَٱلۡبُدۡنَ
Walbudna
And the camels and cattle
جَعَلۡنَٰهَا
jaʻalnaahaa
We have made them
لَكُم
lakum
for you
مِّن
miñ
among
شَعَٰٓئِرِ
Shaʻaaaʹiril
(the) Symbols
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
(of) Allah
لَكُمۡ
lakum
for you
فِيهَا
feehaa
therein
خَيۡرٞۖ
khayr:
(is) good
فَٱذۡكُرُواْ
faẓkurus
So mention
ٱسۡمَ
mal
(the) name
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
(of) Allah
عَلَيۡهَا
ʻalayhaa
over them
صَوَآفَّۖ
ṣawaaaff:
(when) lined up
فَإِذَا
faʹiẓaa
and when
وَجَبَتۡ
wajabat
are down
جُنُوبُهَا
junoobuhaa
their sides
فَكُلُواْ
fakuloo
then eat
مِنۡهَا
minhaa
from them
وَأَطۡعِمُواْ
wa-ʹaṭʻimul
and feed
ٱلۡقَانِعَ
q̣aaniʻa
the needy who do not ask
وَٱلۡمُعۡتَرَّۚ
walmuʻtarr:
and the needy who ask
كَذَٰلِكَ
kaẓaalika
Thus
سَخَّرۡنَٰهَا
sakhkharnaahaa
We have subjected them
لَكُمۡ
lakum
to you
لَعَلَّكُمۡ
laʻallakum
so that you may
تَشۡكُرُونَ
tashkuroon.
be grateful
٣٦
22:37
لَن
Lañy
Will not
يَنَالَ
yanaalal
reach
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
لُحُومُهَا
luḥoomuhaa
their meat
وَلَا
wa-laa
and not
دِمَآؤُهَا
dimaaaʹuhaa
their blood
وَلَٰكِن
wa-laakiñy
but
يَنَالُهُ
yanaaluhut
reaches Him
ٱلتَّقۡوَىٰ
Taq̣waa
the piety
مِنكُمۡۚ
miñkum;
from you
كَذَٰلِكَ
kaẓaalika
Thus
سَخَّرَهَا
sakhkharahaa
He subjected them
لَكُمۡ
lakum
to you
لِتُكَبِّرُواْ
litukabbirul
so that you may magnify
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
عَلَىٰ
ʻalaa
for
مَا
maa-
what
هَدَىٰكُمۡۗ
hadaakum:
He has guided you
وَبَشِّرِ
wa-bashshiril
And give glad tidings
ٱلۡمُحۡسِنِينَ
Muḥsineen.
(to) the good-doers
٣٧
22:38
۞إِنَّ
ʹInnal
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
يُدَٰفِعُ
yudaafiʻu
defends
عَنِ
ʻanil
defends
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those who
ءَامَنُوٓاْۗ
ʹaamanoo:
believe
إِنَّ
ʹinnal
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
لَا
laa-
(does) not
يُحِبُّ
yuḥibbu
like
كُلَّ
kulla
every
خَوَّانٖ
khawwaaniñ
treacherous
كَفُورٍ
kafoor.
ungrateful
٣٨

22:39
أُذِنَ
ʹUẓina
Permission is given
لِلَّذِينَ
lillaẓeena
to those who
يُقَٰتَلُونَ
yuq̣aataloona
are being fought
بِأَنَّهُمۡ
biʹannahum
because they
ظُلِمُواْۚ
z̤̣ulimoo;
were wronged
وَإِنَّ
wa-ʹinnal
And indeed
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
عَلَىٰ
ʻalaa
for
نَصۡرِهِمۡ
naṣrihim
their victory
لَقَدِيرٌ
la-Q̣adeer;
(is) surely Able
٣٩
22:40
ٱلَّذِينَ
ʹAllaẓeena
Those who
أُخۡرِجُواْ
ʹukhrijoo
have been evicted
مِن
miñ
from
دِيَٰرِهِم
diyaarihim̃
their homes
بِغَيۡرِ
big̣ayri
without
حَقٍّ
ḥaq̣q̣in
right
إِلَّآ
ʹillaaa
except
أَن
ʹañy
that
يَقُولُواْ
yaq̣ooloo
they said
رَبُّنَا
Rabbunallaah.
Our Lord
ٱللَّهُۗ
Wa-law
(is) Allah
وَلَوۡلَا
laa-
And if not
دَفۡعُ
dafʻul
Allah checks
ٱللَّهِ
laahin
Allah checks
ٱلنَّاسَ
naasa
the people
بَعۡضَهُم
baʻḍahum̃
some of them
بِبَعۡضٖ
bibaʻḍil
by others
لَّهُدِّمَتۡ
lahuddimat
surely (would) have been demolished
صَوَٰمِعُ
ṣawaamiʹu
monasteries
وَبِيَعٞ
wa-biyaʻuñw
and churches
وَصَلَوَٰتٞ
waṣalawaatuñw
and synagogues
وَمَسَٰجِدُ
wamasaajidu
and masajid
يُذۡكَرُ
yuẓkaru
is mentioned
فِيهَا
feehas
in it
ٱسۡمُ
mul
(the) name of Allah
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
(the) name of Allah
كَثِيرٗاۗ
kas̤eeraa.
much
وَلَيَنصُرَنَّ
Wa-layañṣurannal
And surely Allah will help
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
And surely Allah will help
مَن
mañy
(those) who
يَنصُرُهُۥٓۚ
yañṣuruh;
help Him
إِنَّ
ʹinnal
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
لَقَوِيٌّ
la-Q̣awiyyun
(is) surely All-Strong
عَزِيزٌ
ʻAzeez.
All-Mighty
٤٠
22:41
ٱلَّذِينَ
ʹAllaẓeena
Those who
إِن
ʹim
if
مَّكَّنَّٰهُمۡ
makkannaahum
We establish them
فِي
fil
in
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ
ʹarḍi
the land
أَقَامُواْ
ʹaq̣aamuṣ
they establish
ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ
Ṣalaata
the prayer
وَءَاتَوُاْ
wa-ʹaatawuz
and they give
ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ
Zakaata
zakah
وَأَمَرُواْ
wa-ʹamaroo
and they enjoin
بِٱلۡمَعۡرُوفِ
bilmaʻroofi
the right
وَنَهَوۡاْ
wa-nahaw
and forbid
عَنِ
ʻanil
from
ٱلۡمُنكَرِۗ
muñkar:
the wrong
وَلِلَّهِ
wa-lillaahi
And for Allah
عَٰقِبَةُ
ʻaaq̣ibatul
(is the) end
ٱلۡأُمُورِ
ʹumoor.
(of) the matters
٤١
22:42
وَإِن
Wa-ʹiñy
And if
يُكَذِّبُوكَ
yukaẓẓibooka
they deny you
فَقَدۡ
faq̣ad
so verily
كَذَّبَتۡ
kaẓẓabat
denied
قَبۡلَهُمۡ
q̣ablahum
before them
قَوۡمُ
Q̣awmu
(the) people
نُوحٖ
Nooḥiñw
(of) Nuh
وَعَادٞ
waʻAaduñw
and Aad
وَثَمُودُ
wa-S̤amood;
and Thamud
٤٢
22:43
وَقَوۡمُ
Wa-Q̣awmu
And (the) people
إِبۡرَٰهِيمَ
ʹIbraaheema
(of) Ibrahim
وَقَوۡمُ
wa-Q̣awmu
and (the) people
لُوطٖ
Looṭ;
(of) Lut
٤٣
22:44
وَأَصۡحَٰبُ
Wa-ʹAṣḥaabu
And the inhabitants
مَدۡيَنَۖ
madyan;
(of) Madyan
وَكُذِّبَ
wa-kuẓẓiba
And Musa was denied
مُوسَىٰۖ
Moosaa
And Musa was denied
فَأَمۡلَيۡتُ
faʹamlaytu
so I granted respite
لِلۡكَٰفِرِينَ
lilkaafireena
to the disbelievers
ثُمَّ
s̤umma
then
أَخَذۡتُهُمۡۖ
ʹakhaẓtuhum:
I seized them
فَكَيۡفَ
fakayfa
and how
كَانَ
kaana
was
نَكِيرِ
nakeer!
My punishment
٤٤
22:45
فَكَأَيِّن
Fakaʹayyim
And how many
مِّن
miñ
of
قَرۡيَةٍ
q̣aryatin
a township
أَهۡلَكۡنَٰهَا
ʹahlaknaahaa
We have destroyed it
وَهِيَ
wa-hiya
while it
ظَالِمَةٞ
z̤̣aalimatuñ
was doing wrong
فَهِيَ
fahiya
so it
خَاوِيَةٌ
khaawiyatun
fell
عَلَىٰ
ʻalaa
on
عُرُوشِهَا
ʻurooshihaa
its roofs
وَبِئۡرٖ
wa-biʹrim
and well
مُّعَطَّلَةٖ
muʻaṭṭalatiñw
abandoned
وَقَصۡرٖ
waq̣aṣrim
and castle
مَّشِيدٍ
masheed?
lofty
٤٥
22:46
أَفَلَمۡ
ʹAfalam
So have not
يَسِيرُواْ
yaseeroo
they traveled
فِي
fil
in
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ
ʹarḍi
the land
فَتَكُونَ
fatakoona
and is
لَهُمۡ
lahum
for them
قُلُوبٞ
q̣uloobuñy
hearts
يَعۡقِلُونَ
yaʻq̣iloona
(to) reason
بِهَآ
bihaaa
with it
أَوۡ
ʹaw
or
ءَاذَانٞ
ʹaaẓaanuñy
ears
يَسۡمَعُونَ
yasmaʻoona
(to) hear
بِهَاۖ
bihaa?
with it
فَإِنَّهَا
Faʹinnahaa
For indeed [it]
لَا
laa-
not
تَعۡمَى
taʻmal
(are) blinded
ٱلۡأَبۡصَٰرُ
ʹabṣaaru
the eyes
وَلَٰكِن
wa-laakiñ
but
تَعۡمَى
taʻmal
(are) blinded
ٱلۡقُلُوبُ
q̣uloobul
the hearts
ٱلَّتِي
latee
which
فِي
fiṣ
(are) in
ٱلصُّدُورِ
ṣudoor.
the breasts
٤٦

22:47
وَيَسۡتَعۡجِلُونَكَ
Wa-yastaʻjiloonaka
And they ask you to hasten
بِٱلۡعَذَابِ
bilʻAẓaabi
the punishment
وَلَن
wa-lañy
But never will
يُخۡلِفَ
yukhlifal
fail/violate
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah
وَعۡدَهُۥۚ
waʻdaḥ
(in) His Promise
وَإِنَّ
Wa-ʹinna
And indeed
يَوۡمًا
yawman
a day
عِندَ
ʻiñda
with
رَبِّكَ
Rabbika
your Lord
كَأَلۡفِ
kaʹalfi
(is) like a thousand
سَنَةٖ
sanatim
year(s)
مِّمَّا
mimmaa
of what
تَعُدُّونَ
taʻuddoon.
you count
٤٧
22:48
وَكَأَيِّن
Wa-kaʹayyim
And how many
مِّن
miñ
of
قَرۡيَةٍ
q̣aryatin
a township
أَمۡلَيۡتُ
ʹamlaytu
I gave respite
لَهَا
lahaa
to it
وَهِيَ
wa-hiya
while it
ظَالِمَةٞ
z̤̣aalimatuñ
(was) doing wrong
ثُمَّ
s̤umma
Then
أَخَذۡتُهَا
ʹakhaẓtuhaa.
I seized it
وَإِلَيَّ
Wa-ʹilayyal
and to Me
ٱلۡمَصِيرُ
maṣeer.
(is) the destination
٤٨
22:49
قُلۡ
Q̣ul
Say
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
Yaaaʹayyuhan
O mankind
ٱلنَّاسُ
naasu
O mankind
إِنَّمَآ
ʹinnamaaa
Only
أَنَا۠
ʹana
I am
لَكُمۡ
lakum
to you
نَذِيرٞ
naẓeerum
a warner
مُّبِينٞ
mubeen.
clear
٤٩
22:50
فَٱلَّذِينَ
Fallaẓeena
So those who
ءَامَنُواْ
ʹaamanoo
believe
وَعَمِلُواْ
wa-ʻamiluṣ
and do
ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ
Ṣaaliḥaati
righteous deeds
لَهُم
lahum
for them
مَّغۡفِرَةٞ
mag̣hfiratuñw
(is) forgiveness
وَرِزۡقٞ
warizq̣uñ
and a provision
كَرِيمٞ
kareem.
