20:51قَالَqalaHe saidفَمَاfamaThen whatبَالُbalu(is the) caseٱلۡقُرُونِal-quruni(of) the generationsٱلۡأُولَىٰal-ula(of) the former٥١
20:52قَالَqalaHe saidعِلۡمُهَاil'muhaIts knowledgeعِندَinda(is) withرَبِّيrabbimy Lordفِيfiinكِتَٰبٖۖkitabina RecordلَّاlaNotيَضِلُّyadilluerrsرَبِّيrabbimy Lordوَلَاwalaand notيَنسَىyansaforgets٥٢
20:53ٱلَّذِيalladhiThe One Whoجَعَلَja'alamadeلَكُمُlakumufor youٱلۡأَرۡضَal-ardathe earthمَهۡدٗاmahdan(as) a bedوَسَلَكَwasalakaand insertedلَكُمۡlakumfor youفِيهَاfihathereinسُبُلٗاsubulanwaysوَأَنزَلَwa-anzalaand sent downمِنَminafromٱلسَّمَآءِal-samaithe skyمَآءٗmaanwaterفَأَخۡرَجۡنَاfa-akhrajnathen We (have) brought forthبِهِۦٓbihiwith itأَزۡوَٰجٗاazwajanpairsمِّنminofنَّبَاتٖnabatinplantsشَتَّىٰshattadiverse٥٣
20:54كُلُواْkuluEatوَٱرۡعَوۡاْwa-ir'awand pastureأَنۡعَٰمَكُمۡۚan'amakumyour cattleإِنَّinnaIndeedفِيfiinذَٰلِكَdhalikathatلَأٓيَٰتٖlaayatinsurely (are) Signsلِّأُوْلِيli-ulifor possessorsٱلنُّهَىٰal-nuha(of) intelligence٥٤
20:55۞مِنۡهَاmin'haFrom itخَلَقۡنَٰكُمۡkhalaqnakumWe created youوَفِيهَاwafihaand in itنُعِيدُكُمۡnu'idukumWe will return youوَمِنۡهَاwamin'haand from itنُخۡرِجُكُمۡnukh'rijukumWe will bring you outتَارَةًtaratantimeأُخۡرَىٰukh'raanother٥٥
20:56وَلَقَدۡwalaqadAnd verilyأَرَيۡنَٰهُaraynahuWe showed himءَايَٰتِنَاayatinaOur Signsكُلَّهَاkullahaall of themفَكَذَّبَfakadhababut he deniedوَأَبَىٰwa-abaand refused٥٦
20:57قَالَqalaHe saidأَجِئۡتَنَاaji'tanaHave you come to usلِتُخۡرِجَنَاlitukh'rijanato drive us outمِنۡminofأَرۡضِنَاardinaour landبِسِحۡرِكَbisih'rikawith your magicيَٰمُوسَىٰyamusaO Musa٥٧
20:58فَلَنَأۡتِيَنَّكَfalanatiyannakaThen we will surely produce for youبِسِحۡرٖbisih'rinmagicمِّثۡلِهِۦmith'lihilike itفَٱجۡعَلۡfa-ij'alSo makeبَيۡنَنَاbaynanabetween usوَبَيۡنَكَwabaynakaand between youمَوۡعِدٗاmaw'idanan appointmentلَّاlanotنُخۡلِفُهُۥnukh'lifuhuwe will fail itنَحۡنُnahnu[we]وَلَآwalaand notأَنتَantayouمَكَانٗاmakanan(in) a placeسُوٗىsuwaneven٥٨
20:59قَالَqalaHe saidمَوۡعِدُكُمۡmaw'idukumYour appointmentيَوۡمُyawmu(is on the) dayٱلزِّينَةِal-zinati(of) the festivalوَأَنwa-anand thatيُحۡشَرَyuh'sharawill be assembledٱلنَّاسُal-nasuthe peopleضُحٗىduhan(at) forenoon٥٩
20:60فَتَوَلَّىٰfatawallaThen went awayفِرۡعَوۡنُfir'awnuFiraunفَجَمَعَfajama'aand put togetherكَيۡدَهُۥkaydahuhis planثُمَّthummathenأَتَىٰatacame٦٠
20:61قَالَqalaSaidلَهُمlahumto themمُّوسَىٰmusaMusaوَيۡلَكُمۡwaylakumWoe to youلَاla(Do) notتَفۡتَرُواْtaftaruinventعَلَىalaagainstٱللَّهِal-lahiAllahكَذِبٗاkadhibana lieفَيُسۡحِتَكُمfayus'hitakumlest He will destroy youبِعَذَابٖۖbi'adhabinwith a punishmentوَقَدۡwaqadAnd verilyخَابَkhabahe failedمَنِmaniwhoٱفۡتَرَىٰif'tarainvented٦١
20:62فَتَنَٰزَعُوٓاْfatanaza'uThen they disputedأَمۡرَهُمamrahum(in) their affairبَيۡنَهُمۡbaynahumamong themوَأَسَرُّواْwa-asarruand they kept secretٱلنَّجۡوَىٰal-najwathe private conversation٦٢
20:63قَالُوٓاْqaluThey saidإِنۡinIndeedهَٰذَٰنِhadhanithese twoلَسَٰحِرَٰنِlasahirani[two] magiciansيُرِيدَانِyuridanithey intendأَنanthatيُخۡرِجَاكُمyukh'rijakumthey drive you outمِّنۡminofأَرۡضِكُمardikumyour landبِسِحۡرِهِمَاbisih'rihimawith their magicوَيَذۡهَبَاwayadhhabaand do awayبِطَرِيقَتِكُمُbitariqatikumuwith your wayٱلۡمُثۡلَىٰal-muth'lathe exemplary٦٣
20:64فَأَجۡمِعُواْfa-ajmi'uSo put togetherكَيۡدَكُمۡkaydakumyour planثُمَّthummathenٱئۡتُواْi'tucomeصَفّٗاۚsaffan(in) a lineوَقَدۡwaqadAnd verilyأَفۡلَحَaflaha(will be) successfulٱلۡيَوۡمَal-yawmatodayمَنِmaniwhoٱسۡتَعۡلَىٰis'ta'laovercomes٦٤
20:65قَالُواْqaluThey saidيَٰمُوسَىٰٓyamusaO MusaإِمَّآimmaEitherأَنan[that]تُلۡقِيَtul'qiyayou throwوَإِمَّآwa-immaorأَنan[that]نَّكُونَnakunawe will beأَوَّلَawwalathe firstمَنۡmanwhoأَلۡقَىٰalqathrows٦٥
20:66قَالَqalaHe saidبَلۡbalNayأَلۡقُواْۖalquyou throwفَإِذَاfa-idhaThen beholdحِبَالُهُمۡhibaluhumTheir ropesوَعِصِيُّهُمۡwa'isiyyuhumand their staffsيُخَيَّلُyukhayyaluseemedإِلَيۡهِilayhito himمِنminbyسِحۡرِهِمۡsih'rihimtheir magicأَنَّهَاannahathat theyتَسۡعَىٰtas'a(were) moving٦٦
20:67فَأَوۡجَسَfa-awjasaSo sensedفِيfiinنَفۡسِهِۦnafsihihimselfخِيفَةٗkhifatana fearمُّوسَىٰmusaMusa٦٧
20:68قُلۡنَاqul'naWe saidلَاla(Do) notتَخَفۡtakhaffearإِنَّكَinnakaIndeed youأَنتَantayouٱلۡأَعۡلَىٰal-a'la(will be) superior٦٨
20:69وَأَلۡقِwa-alqiAnd throwمَاmawhatفِيfi(is) inيَمِينِكَyaminikayour right handتَلۡقَفۡtalqafit will swallow upمَاmawhatصَنَعُوٓاْۖsana'uthey have madeإِنَّمَاinnamaOnlyصَنَعُواْsana'uthey (have) madeكَيۡدُkaydua trickسَٰحِرٖۖsahirin(of) a magicianوَلَاwalaand notيُفۡلِحُyuf'lihuwill be successfulٱلسَّاحِرُal-sahiruthe magicianحَيۡثُhaythuwhereverأَتَىٰatahe comes٦٩
20:70فَأُلۡقِيَfa-ul'qiyaSo were thrown downٱلسَّحَرَةُal-saharatuthe magiciansسُجَّدٗاsujjadanprostratingقَالُوٓاْqaluThey saidءَامَنَّاamannaWe believeبِرَبِّbirabbiin (the) Lordهَٰرُونَharuna(of) Harunوَمُوسَىٰwamusaand Musa٧٠
20:71قَالَqalaHe saidءَامَنتُمۡamantumYou believeلَهُۥlahu[to] himقَبۡلَqablabeforeأَنۡan[that]ءَاذَنَadhanaI gave permissionلَكُمۡۖlakumto youإِنَّهُۥinnahuIndeed heلَكَبِيرُكُمُlakabirukumu(is) your chiefٱلَّذِيalladhithe one whoعَلَّمَكُمُallamakumutaught youٱلسِّحۡرَۖal-sih'rathe magicفَلَأُقَطِّعَنَّfala-uqatti'annaSo surely I will cut offأَيۡدِيَكُمۡaydiyakumyour handsوَأَرۡجُلَكُمwa-arjulakumand your feetمِّنۡminofخِلَٰفٖkhilafinopposite sidesوَلَأُصَلِّبَنَّكُمۡwala-usallibannakumand surely I will crucify youفِيfionجُذُوعِjudhu'i(the) trunksٱلنَّخۡلِal-nakhli(of) date-palmsوَلَتَعۡلَمُنَّwalata'lamunnaand surely you will knowأَيُّنَآayyunawhich of usأَشَدُّashaddu(is) more severeعَذَابٗاadhaban(in) punishmentوَأَبۡقَىٰwa-abqaand more lasting٧١
20:72قَالُواْqaluThey saidلَنlanNeverنُّؤۡثِرَكَnu'thirakawe will prefer youعَلَىٰalaoverمَاmawhatجَآءَنَاjaanahas come to usمِنَminaofٱلۡبَيِّنَٰتِal-bayinatithe clear proofsوَٱلَّذِيwa-alladhiand the One Whoفَطَرَنَاۖfataranacreated usفَٱقۡضِfa-iq'diSo decreeمَآmawhateverأَنتَantayouقَاضٍۖqadin(are) decreeingإِنَّمَاinnamaOnlyتَقۡضِيtaqdiyou can decreeهَٰذِهِhadhihi(for) thisٱلۡحَيَوٰةَal-hayatalifeٱلدُّنۡيَآal-dun'ya(of) the world٧٢
20:73إِنَّآinnaIndeed [we]ءَامَنَّاamannawe believeبِرَبِّنَاbirabbinain our Lordلِيَغۡفِرَliyaghfirathat He may forgiveلَنَاlanafor usخَطَٰيَٰنَاkhatayanaour sinsوَمَآwamaand whatأَكۡرَهۡتَنَاakrahtanayou compelled usعَلَيۡهِalayhion itمِنَminaofٱلسِّحۡرِۗal-sih'rithe magicوَٱللَّهُwal-lahuAnd Allahخَيۡرٞkhayrun(is) Bestوَأَبۡقَىٰٓwa-abqaand Ever Lasting٧٣
20:74إِنَّهُۥinnahuIndeed heمَنmanwhoيَأۡتِyaticomesرَبَّهُۥrabbahu(to) his Lordمُجۡرِمٗاmuj'riman(as) a criminalفَإِنَّfa-innathen indeedلَهُۥlahufor himجَهَنَّمَjahannama(is) HellلَاlaNotيَمُوتُyamutuhe will dieفِيهَاfihain itوَلَاwalaand notيَحۡيَىٰyahyalive٧٤
20:75وَمَنwamanBut whoeverيَأۡتِهِۦyatihicomes to Himمُؤۡمِنٗاmu'minan(as) a believerقَدۡqadverilyعَمِلَamilahe has doneٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِal-salihatithe righteous deedsفَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَfa-ulaikathen thoseلَهُمُlahumufor themٱلدَّرَجَٰتُal-darajatu(will be) the ranksٱلۡعُلَىٰal-'ula[the] high٧٥
20:76جَنَّٰتُjannatuGardensعَدۡنٖadnin(of) Edenتَجۡرِيtajriflowsمِنminfromتَحۡتِهَاtahtihaunderneath themٱلۡأَنۡهَٰرُal-anharuthe riversخَٰلِدِينَkhalidinaabiding foreverفِيهَاۚfihain itوَذَٰلِكَwadhalikaAnd thatجَزَآءُjazau(is) the rewardمَنman(for him) whoتَزَكَّىٰtazakkapurifies himself٧٦
20:77وَلَقَدۡwalaqadAnd verilyأَوۡحَيۡنَآawhaynaWe inspiredإِلَىٰilatoمُوسَىٰٓmusaMusaأَنۡanthatأَسۡرِasriTravel by nightبِعِبَادِيbi'ibadiwith My slavesفَٱضۡرِبۡfa-id'riband strikeلَهُمۡlahumfor themطَرِيقٗاtariqana pathفِيfiinٱلۡبَحۡرِal-bahrithe seaيَبَسٗاyabasandryلَّاlanotتَخَٰفُtakhafufearingدَرَكٗاdarakanto be overtakenوَلَاwalaand notتَخۡشَىٰtakhshabeing afraid٧٧
20:78فَأَتۡبَعَهُمۡfa-atba'ahumThen followed themفِرۡعَوۡنُfir'awnuFiraunبِجُنُودِهِۦbijunudihiwith his forcesفَغَشِيَهُمfaghashiyahumbut covered themمِّنَminafromٱلۡيَمِّal-yamithe seaمَاmawhatغَشِيَهُمۡghashiyahumcovered them٧٨
20:79وَأَضَلَّwa-adallaAnd led astrayفِرۡعَوۡنُfir'awnuFiraunقَوۡمَهُۥqawmahuhis peopleوَمَاwamaand (did) notهَدَىٰhadaguide them٧٩
20:80يَٰبَنِيٓyabaniO Children of Israelإِسۡرَٰٓءِيلَis'railaO Children of IsraelقَدۡqadVerilyأَنجَيۡنَٰكُمanjaynakumWe delivered youمِّنۡminfromعَدُوِّكُمۡaduwwikumyour enemyوَوَٰعَدۡنَٰكُمۡwawa'adnakumand We made a covenant with youجَانِبَjanibaon (the) sideٱلطُّورِal-turi(of) the Mountٱلۡأَيۡمَنَal-aymanathe rightوَنَزَّلۡنَاwanazzalnaand We sent downعَلَيۡكُمُalaykumuto youٱلۡمَنَّal-manathe Mannaوَٱلسَّلۡوَىٰwal-salwaand the quails٨٠
20:81كُلُواْkuluEatمِنminofطَيِّبَٰتِtayyibati(the) good thingsمَاmawhichرَزَقۡنَٰكُمۡrazaqnakumWe have provided youوَلَاwalaand (do) notتَطۡغَوۡاْtatghawtransgressفِيهِfihithereinفَيَحِلَّfayahillalest should descendعَلَيۡكُمۡalaykumupon youغَضَبِيۖghadabiMy AngerوَمَنwamanAnd whoeverيَحۡلِلۡyahlilon whom descendsعَلَيۡهِalayhion whom descendsغَضَبِيghadabiMy Angerفَقَدۡfaqadindeedهَوَىٰhawahe (has) perished٨١
20:82وَإِنِّيwa-inniBut indeed I Amلَغَفَّارٞlaghaffarunthe Perpetual Forgiverلِّمَنlimanof whoeverتَابَtabarepentsوَءَامَنَwaamanaand believesوَعَمِلَwa'amilaand doesصَٰلِحٗاsalihanrighteous (deeds)ثُمَّthummathenٱهۡتَدَىٰih'tadaremains guided٨٢
20:83۞وَمَآwamaAnd whatأَعۡجَلَكَa'jalakamade you hastenعَنanfromقَوۡمِكَqawmikayour peopleيَٰمُوسَىٰyamusaO Musa٨٣
20:84قَالَqalaHe saidهُمۡhumTheyأُوْلَآءِulai(are) closeعَلَىٰٓalauponأَثَرِيatharimy tracksوَعَجِلۡتُwa'ajil'tuand I hastenedإِلَيۡكَilaykato youرَبِّrabbimy Lordلِتَرۡضَىٰlitardathat You be pleased٨٤
20:85قَالَqalaHe saidفَإِنَّاfa-innaBut indeed Weقَدۡqad[verily]فَتَنَّاfatannaWe (have) triedقَوۡمَكَqawmakayour peopleمِنۢminafter youبَعۡدِكَba'dikaafter youوَأَضَلَّهُمُwa-adallahumuand has led them astrayٱلسَّامِرِيُّal-samiriyuthe Samiri٨٥
20:86فَرَجَعَfaraja'aThen Musa returnedمُوسَىٰٓmusaThen Musa returnedإِلَىٰilatoقَوۡمِهِۦqawmihihis peopleغَضۡبَٰنَghadbanaangryأَسِفٗاۚasifan(and) sorrowfulقَالَqalaHe saidيَٰقَوۡمِyaqawmiO my peopleأَلَمۡalamDid notيَعِدۡكُمۡya'id'kumpromise youرَبُّكُمۡrabbukumyour Lordوَعۡدًاwa'dana promiseحَسَنًاۚhasanangoodأَفَطَالَafatalaThen did seem longعَلَيۡكُمُalaykumuto youٱلۡعَهۡدُal-'ahduthe promiseأَمۡamorأَرَدتُّمۡaradttumdid you desireأَنanthatيَحِلَّyahilladescendعَلَيۡكُمۡalaykumupon youغَضَبٞghadabun(the) Angerمِّنminofرَّبِّكُمۡrabbikumyour Lordفَأَخۡلَفۡتُمfa-akhlaftumso you brokeمَّوۡعِدِيmaw'idi(the) promise to me٨٦
20:87قَالُواْqaluThey saidمَآmaNotأَخۡلَفۡنَاakhlafnawe brokeمَوۡعِدَكَmaw'idakapromise to youبِمَلۡكِنَاbimalkinaby our willوَلَٰكِنَّاwalakinnabut weحُمِّلۡنَآhummil'na[we] were made to carryأَوۡزَارٗاawzaranburdensمِّنminfromزِينَةِzinatiornamentsٱلۡقَوۡمِal-qawmi(of) the peopleفَقَذَفۡنَٰهَاfaqadhafnahaso we threw themفَكَذَٰلِكَfakadhalikaand thusأَلۡقَىalqathrewٱلسَّامِرِيُّal-samiriyuthe Samiri٨٧
20:88فَأَخۡرَجَfa-akhrajaThen he brought forthلَهُمۡlahumfor themعِجۡلٗاij'lana calf'sجَسَدٗاjasadanbodyلَّهُۥlahuit hadخُوَارٞkhuwaruna lowing soundفَقَالُواْfaqaluand they saidهَٰذَآhadhaThisإِلَٰهُكُمۡilahukum(is) your godوَإِلَٰهُwa-ilahuand the godمُوسَىٰmusa(of) Musaفَنَسِيَfanasiyabut he forgot٨٨
20:89أَفَلَاafalaThen did notيَرَوۡنَyarawnathey seeأَلَّاallathat notيَرۡجِعُyarji'uit (could) returnإِلَيۡهِمۡilayhimto themقَوۡلٗاqawlana wordوَلَاwalaand notيَمۡلِكُyamlikupossessلَهُمۡlahumfor themضَرّٗاdarranany harmوَلَاwalaand notنَفۡعٗاnaf 'anany benefit٨٩
20:90وَلَقَدۡwalaqadAnd verilyقَالَqala(had) saidلَهُمۡlahumto themهَٰرُونُharunuHarunمِنminbeforeقَبۡلُqablubeforeيَٰقَوۡمِyaqawmiO my peopleإِنَّمَاinnamaOnlyفُتِنتُمfutintumyou are being testedبِهِۦۖbihiby itوَإِنَّwa-innaand indeedرَبَّكُمُrabbakumuyour Lordٱلرَّحۡمَٰنُal-rahmanu(is) the Most Graciousفَٱتَّبِعُونِيfa-ittabi'uniso follow meوَأَطِيعُوٓاْwa-ati'uand obeyأَمۡرِيamrimy order٩٠
20:91قَالُواْqaluThey saidلَنlanNeverنَّبۡرَحَnabrahawe will ceaseعَلَيۡهِalayhibeing devoted to itعَٰكِفِينَakifinabeing devoted to itحَتَّىٰhattauntilيَرۡجِعَyarji'areturnsإِلَيۡنَاilaynato usمُوسَىٰmusaMusa٩١
20:92قَالَqalaHe saidيَٰهَٰرُونُyaharunuO HarunمَاmaWhatمَنَعَكَmana'akaprevented youإِذۡidhwhenرَأَيۡتَهُمۡra-aytahumyou saw themضَلُّوٓاْdallugoing astray٩٢
20:93أَلَّاallaThat notتَتَّبِعَنِۖtattabi'aniyou follow meأَفَعَصَيۡتَafa'asaytaThen have you disobeyedأَمۡرِيamrimy order٩٣
20:94قَالَqalaHe saidيَبۡنَؤُمَّyabna-ummaO son of my motherلَاla(Do) notتَأۡخُذۡtakhudhseize (me)بِلِحۡيَتِيbilih'yatiby my beardوَلَاwalaand notبِرَأۡسِيٓۖbirasiby my headإِنِّيinniIndeed Iخَشِيتُkhashitu[I] fearedأَنanthatتَقُولَtaqulayou would sayفَرَّقۡتَfarraqtaYou caused divisionبَيۡنَbaynabetweenبَنِيٓbani(the) Children of Israelإِسۡرَٰٓءِيلَis'raila(the) Children of Israelوَلَمۡwalamand notتَرۡقُبۡtarqubyou respectقَوۡلِيqawlimy word٩٤
20:95قَالَqalaHe saidفَمَاfamaThen whatخَطۡبُكَkhatbuka(is) your caseيَٰسَٰمِرِيُّyasamiriyyuO Samiri٩٥
20:96قَالَqalaHe saidبَصُرۡتُbasur'tuI perceivedبِمَاbimawhatلَمۡlamnotيَبۡصُرُواْyabsuruthey perceiveبِهِۦbihiin itفَقَبَضۡتُfaqabadtuso I tookقَبۡضَةٗqabdatana handfulمِّنۡminfromأَثَرِathari(the) trackٱلرَّسُولِal-rasuli(of) the Messengerفَنَبَذۡتُهَاfanabadhtuhathen threw itوَكَذَٰلِكَwakadhalikaand thusسَوَّلَتۡsawwalatsuggestedلِيlito meنَفۡسِيnafsimy soul٩٦
20:97قَالَqalaHe saidفَٱذۡهَبۡfa-idh'habThen goفَإِنَّfa-innaAnd indeedلَكَlakafor youفِيfiinٱلۡحَيَوٰةِal-hayatithe lifeأَنanthatتَقُولَtaqulayou will sayلَاla(Do) notمِسَاسَۖmisasatouchوَإِنَّwa-innaAnd indeedلَكَlakafor youمَوۡعِدٗاmaw'idan(is) an appointmentلَّنlanneverتُخۡلَفَهُۥۖtukh'lafahuyou will fail to (keep) itوَٱنظُرۡwa-unzurAnd lookإِلَىٰٓilaatإِلَٰهِكَilahikayour godٱلَّذِيalladhithat whichظَلۡتَzaltayou have remainedعَلَيۡهِalayhito itعَاكِفٗاۖakifandevotedلَّنُحَرِّقَنَّهُۥlanuharriqannahuSurely we will burn itثُمَّthummathenلَنَنسِفَنَّهُۥlanansifannahucertainly we will scatter itفِيfiinٱلۡيَمِّal-yamithe seaنَسۡفًاnasfan(in) particles٩٧
20:98إِنَّمَآinnamaOnlyإِلَٰهُكُمُilahukumuyour Godٱللَّهُal-lahu(is) Allahٱلَّذِيalladhithe Oneلَآla(there is) noإِلَٰهَilahagodإِلَّاillabutهُوَۚhuwaHeوَسِعَwasi'aHe has encompassedكُلَّkullaallشَيۡءٍshayinthingsعِلۡمٗاil'man(in) knowledge٩٨
20:99كَذَٰلِكَkadhalikaThusنَقُصُّnaqussuWe relateعَلَيۡكَalaykato youمِنۡminfromأَنۢبَآءِanbai(the) newsمَاma(of) whatقَدۡqadhas precededسَبَقَۚsabaqahas precededوَقَدۡwaqadAnd certainlyءَاتَيۡنَٰكَataynakaWe have given youمِنminfromلَّدُنَّاladunnaUsذِكۡرٗاdhik'rana Reminder٩٩
