20:126
قَالَ
Q̣aala
He will say
كَذَٰلِكَ
kaẓaalika
Thus
أَتَتۡكَ
ʹatatka
came to you
ءَايَٰتُنَا
ʹAayaatunaa
Our Signs
فَنَسِيتَهَاۖ
fanaseetahaa:
but you forgot them
وَكَذَٰلِكَ
wa-kaẓaalikal
and thus
ٱلۡيَوۡمَ
yawma
today
تُنسَىٰ
tuñsaa.
you will be forgotten
١٢٦
20:127
وَكَذَٰلِكَ
Wa-kaẓaalika
And thus
نَجۡزِي
najzee
We recompense
مَنۡ
man
(he) who
أَسۡرَفَ
ʹasrafa
transgresses
وَلَمۡ
wa-lam
and not
يُؤۡمِنۢ
yuʹmim
believes
بِـَٔايَٰتِ
biʹAayaati
in (the) Signs
رَبِّهِۦۚ
Rabbih:
(of) his Lord
وَلَعَذَابُ
wa-laʻaẓaabul
And surely (the) punishment
ٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ
ʹAakhirati
(of) the Hereafter
أَشَدُّ
ʹashaddu
(is) more severe
وَأَبۡقَىٰٓ
wa-ʹabq̣aa.
and more lasting
١٢٧
20:128
أَفَلَمۡ
ʹAfalam
Then has not
يَهۡدِ
yahdi
it guided
لَهُمۡ
lahum
[for] them
كَمۡ
kam
how many
أَهۡلَكۡنَا
ʹahlaknaa
We (have) destroyed
قَبۡلَهُم
q̣ablahum
before them
مِّنَ
minal
of
ٱلۡقُرُونِ
q̣urooni
the generations
يَمۡشُونَ
yamshoona
(as) they walk
فِي
fee
in
مَسَٰكِنِهِمۡۚ
masaakinihim?
their dwellings
إِنَّ
ʹInna
Indeed
فِي
fee
in
ذَٰلِكَ
ẓaalika
that
لَأٓيَٰتٖ
laʹAayaatil
surely (are) Signs
لِّأُوْلِي
liʹulin
for possessors
ٱلنُّهَىٰ
nuhaa.
(of) intelligence
١٢٨
20:129
وَلَوۡلَا
Wa-lawlaa
And if not
كَلِمَةٞ
Kalimatuñ
(for) a Word
سَبَقَتۡ
sabaq̣at
(that) preceded
مِن
mir
from
رَّبِّكَ
Rabbika
your Lord
لَكَانَ
lakaana
surely (would) have been
لِزَامٗا
lizaamañw
an obligation
وَأَجَلٞ
waʹajalum
and a term
مُّسَمّٗى
musammaa.
determined
١٢٩
20:130
فَٱصۡبِرۡ
Faṣbir
So be patient
عَلَىٰ
ʻalaa
over
مَا
maa-
what
يَقُولُونَ
yaq̣ooloona
they say
وَسَبِّحۡ
wa-sabbiḥ
and glorify
بِحَمۡدِ
bi-Ḥamdi
with praise
رَبِّكَ
Rabbika
(of) your Lord
قَبۡلَ
q̣abla
before
طُلُوعِ
ṭulooʻish
(the) rising
ٱلشَّمۡسِ
shamsi
(of) the sun
وَقَبۡلَ
wa-q̣abla
and before
غُرُوبِهَاۖ
g̣uroobihaa;
its setting
وَمِنۡ
wa-min
and from
ءَانَآيِٕ
ʹaanaaaʹil
(the) hours
ٱلَّيۡلِ
layli
(of) the night
فَسَبِّحۡ
fasabbiḥ
and glorify
وَأَطۡرَافَ
wa-ʹaṭraafan
(at the) ends
ٱلنَّهَارِ
nahaari
(of) the day
لَعَلَّكَ
laʻallaka
so that you may
تَرۡضَىٰ
tarḍaa.
be satisfied
١٣٠
20:131
وَلَا
Wa-laa
And (do) not
تَمُدَّنَّ
tamuddanna
extend
عَيۡنَيۡكَ
ʹaynayka
your eyes
إِلَىٰ
ʹilaa
towards
مَا
maa-
what
مَتَّعۡنَا
mattaʻnaa
We have given for enjoyment
بِهِۦٓ
biheee
[with it]
أَزۡوَٰجٗا
ʹazwaajam
pairs
مِّنۡهُمۡ
minhum
of them
زَهۡرَةَ
zahratal
(the) splendor
ٱلۡحَيَوٰةِ
ḥayaatid
(of) the life
ٱلدُّنۡيَا
dunyaa,
(of) the world
لِنَفۡتِنَهُمۡ
linaftinahum
that We may test them
فِيهِۚ
feeh:
in it
وَرِزۡقُ
wa-rizq̣u
And (the) provision
رَبِّكَ
Rabbika
(of) your Lord
خَيۡرٞ
khayruñw
(is) better
وَأَبۡقَىٰ
waʹabq̣aa.
and more lasting
١٣١
20:132
وَأۡمُرۡ
Waʹmur
And enjoin
أَهۡلَكَ
ʹahlaka
(on) your family
بِٱلصَّلَوٰةِ
biṣ-Ṣalaati
the prayer
وَٱصۡطَبِرۡ
waṣṭabir
and be steadfast
عَلَيۡهَاۖ
ʻalayhaa.
therein
لَا
Laa-
Not
نَسۡـَٔلُكَ
nasʹaluka
We ask you
رِزۡقٗاۖ
rizq̣aa:
(for) provision
نَّحۡنُ
Naḥnu
We
نَرۡزُقُكَۗ
narzuq̣uk.
provide (for) you
وَٱلۡعَٰقِبَةُ
Wal-ʻAaq̣ibatu
and the outcome
لِلتَّقۡوَىٰ
lit-Taq̣waa.
(is) for the righteous[ness]
١٣٢
20:133
وَقَالُواْ
Wa-q̣aaloo
And they say
لَوۡلَا
Law-laa
Why not
يَأۡتِينَا
yaʹteenaa
he brings us
بِـَٔايَةٖ
biʹAayatim
a sign
مِّن
mir
from
رَّبِّهِۦٓۚ
Rabbih?
his Lord
أَوَلَمۡ
ʹA-walam
Has not
تَأۡتِهِم
taʹtihim̃
come to them
بَيِّنَةُ
Bayyinatu
evidence
مَا
maa-
(of) what
فِي
fiṣ
(was) in
ٱلصُّحُفِ
Ṣuḥufil
the Scriptures
ٱلۡأُولَىٰ
ʹoolaa?
the former
١٣٣
20:134
وَلَوۡ
Wa-law
And if
أَنَّآ
ʹannaaa
We
أَهۡلَكۡنَٰهُم
ʹahlaknaahum̃
(had) destroyed them
بِعَذَابٖ
biʻaẓaabim
with a punishment
مِّن
miñ
before him
قَبۡلِهِۦ
q̣ablihee
before him
لَقَالُواْ
laq̣aaloo
surely they (would) have said
رَبَّنَا
Rabbanaa
Our Lord
لَوۡلَآ
Law-laaa
why not
أَرۡسَلۡتَ
ʹarsalta
You sent
إِلَيۡنَا
ʹilaynaa
to us
رَسُولٗا
Rasoolañ
a Messenger
فَنَتَّبِعَ
fanattabiʻa
so we (could) have followed
ءَايَٰتِكَ
ʹAayaatika
Your signs
مِن
Miñ
before
قَبۡلِ
q̣abli
before
أَن
ʹan
[that]
نَّذِلَّ
naẓilla
we were humiliated
وَنَخۡزَىٰ
wa-nakhzaa.
and disgraced
١٣٤
20:135
قُلۡ
Q̣ul
Say
كُلّٞ
kullum
Each
مُّتَرَبِّصٞ
mutarabbiṣuñ
(is) waiting
فَتَرَبَّصُواْۖ
fatarabbaṣoo:
so await
فَسَتَعۡلَمُونَ
fasataʻlamoona
Then you will know
مَنۡ
man
who
أَصۡحَٰبُ
ʹAṣḥaabuṣ
(are the) companions
ٱلصِّرَٰطِ
Ṣiraaṭis
(of) the way
ٱلسَّوِيِّ
sawiyyi
[the] even
وَمَنِ
wa-manih
and who
ٱهۡتَدَىٰ
tadaa.
is guided
١٣٥
