Wa-ʹiz
And when
وَٰعَدۡنَا
waaʻadnaa
We appointed
مُوسَىٰٓ
Moosaaa
(for) Musa
أَرۡبَعِينَ
ʹarbaʻeena
forty
لَيۡلَةٗ
laylatañ
nights
ثُمَّ
s̤ummat
Then
ٱتَّخَذۡتُمُ
takhaẓtumul
you took
ٱلۡعِجۡلَ
ʻijla
the calf
مِنۢ
mim
from
بَعۡدِهِۦ
baʻdihee
after him
وَأَنتُمۡ
wa-añtum
and you
ظَٰلِمُونَ
z̤̣aalimoon.
(were) wrongdoers
٥١
2:52
ثُمَّ
S̤umma
Then
عَفَوۡنَا
ʻafawnaa
We forgave
عَنكُم
ʻañkum
you
مِّنۢ
mim
from
بَعۡدِ
baʻdi
after
ذَٰلِكَ
ẓaalika
that
لَعَلَّكُمۡ
laʻallakum
so that you may
تَشۡكُرُونَ
tashkuroon.
(be) grateful
٥٢
2:53
وَإِذۡ
Wa-ʹiẓ
And when
ءَاتَيۡنَا
ʹaataynaa
We gave
مُوسَى
Moosal
Musa
ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ
Kitaaba
the Book
وَٱلۡفُرۡقَانَ
wal-Furq̣uaana
and the Criterion
لَعَلَّكُمۡ
laʻallakum
perhaps you
تَهۡتَدُونَ
Tahtadoon.
(would be) guided
٥٣
2:54
وَإِذۡ
Wa-ʹiẓ
And when
قَالَ
q̣aala
said
مُوسَىٰ
Moosaa
Musa
لِقَوۡمِهِۦ
li-Q̣awmihee
to his people
يَٰقَوۡمِ
yaa-q̣awmi
O my people
إِنَّكُمۡ
ʹinnakum
Indeed you
ظَلَمۡتُمۡ
z̤̣alamtum
[you] have wronged
أَنفُسَكُم
ʹanfusakum̃
yourselves
بِٱتِّخَاذِكُمُ
bitti-khaa-ẓikumul
by your taking
ٱلۡعِجۡلَ
ʻijla
the calf
فَتُوبُوٓاْ
fatoobooo
So turn in repentance
إِلَىٰ
ʹilaa
to
بَارِئِكُمۡ
Baariʹikum
your Creator
فَٱقۡتُلُوٓاْ
faq̣tulooo
and kill
أَنفُسَكُمۡ
ʹañfusakum;
yourselves
ذَٰلِكُمۡ
ẓaalikum
That
خَيۡرٞ
khayrul
(is) better
لَّكُمۡ
lakum
for you
عِندَ
ʻiñda
with
بَارِئِكُمۡ
Baariʹikum.
your Creator
فَتَابَ
Fataaba
Then He turned
عَلَيۡكُمۡۚ
ʻalaykum:
towards you
إِنَّهُۥ
ʹinnahoo
Indeed He
هُوَ
Huwat
He
ٱلتَّوَّابُ
Tawwaabur
(is) the-returning
ٱلرَّحِيمُ
Raḥeem.
the Most Merciful
٥٤
2:55
وَإِذۡ
Wa-ʹIẓ
And when
قُلۡتُمۡ
q̣ultum
you said
يَٰمُوسَىٰ
yaa-Moosaa
O Musa
لَن
lan
Never
نُّؤۡمِنَ
nuʹmina
(will) we believe
لَكَ
laka
in you
حَتَّىٰ
ḥattaa
until
نَرَى
naral
we see
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
جَهۡرَةٗ
Jahratañ
manifestly
فَأَخَذَتۡكُمُ
faʹakhaẓat-kumuṣ
So seized you
ٱلصَّٰعِقَةُ
ṣaaʻiq̣atu
the thunderbolt
وَأَنتُمۡ
wa-ʹañtum
while you
تَنظُرُونَ
tañz̤̣uroon.
(were) looking
٥٥
2:56
ثُمَّ
S̤umma
Then
بَعَثۡنَٰكُم
baʻas̤naakum
We revived you
مِّنۢ
mim
from
بَعۡدِ
baʻdi
after
مَوۡتِكُمۡ
Mawtikum
your death
لَعَلَّكُمۡ
laʻallakum
so that you may
تَشۡكُرُونَ
tashkuroon.
(be) grateful
٥٦
2:57
وَظَلَّلۡنَا
Wa-Z̤̣allalnaa
And We shaded
عَلَيۡكُمُ
ʻalaykumul
[over] you
ٱلۡغَمَامَ
g̣amaama
(with) [the] clouds
وَأَنزَلۡنَا
wa-ʹañzalnaa
and We sent down
عَلَيۡكُمُ
ʻalaykumul
to you
ٱلۡمَنَّ
Manna
[the] manna
وَٱلسَّلۡوَىٰۖ
was-Salwaaa:
and [the] quails
كُلُواْ
Kuloo
Eat
مِن
miñ
from
طَيِّبَٰتِ
ṭayyibaati
(the) good things
مَا
maa
that
رَزَقۡنَٰكُمۡۚ
razaq̣naakum
We have provided you
وَمَا
wa-maa
And not
ظَلَمُونَا
z̤̣alamoonaa
they wronged Us
وَلَٰكِن
wa-laakiñ
but
كَانُوٓاْ
kaanooo
they were
أَنفُسَهُمۡ
ʹañfusahum
(to) themselves
يَظۡلِمُونَ
yaz̤̣limoon.

وَإِذۡ
Wa-ʹiẓ
And when
قُلۡنَا
q̣ulnad
We said
ٱدۡخُلُواْ
khuloo
Enter
هَٰذِهِ
haaẓihil
this
ٱلۡقَرۡيَةَ
q̣aryata
town
فَكُلُواْ
fakuloo
then eat
مِنۡهَا
minhaa
from
حَيۡثُ
ḥays̤u
wherever
شِئۡتُمۡ
shiʹtum
you wish[ed]
رَغَدٗا
rag̣adañw
abundantly
وَٱدۡخُلُواْ
wadkhulul
and enter
ٱلۡبَابَ
baaba
the gate
سُجَّدٗا
Sujjadañw
prostrating
وَقُولُواْ
wa-q̣ooloo
And say
حِطَّةٞ
ḥittatun
Repentance
نَّغۡفِرۡ
nag̣fir
We will forgive
لَكُمۡ
lakum
for you
خَطَٰيَٰكُمۡۚ
Khaṭaayaakum:
your sins
وَسَنَزِيدُ
wa-sanazeedul
And We will increase
ٱلۡمُحۡسِنِينَ
Muḥsineen.
the good-doers (in reward)
٥٨
2:59
فَبَدَّلَ
Fabaddalal
But changed
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those who
ظَلَمُواْ
z̤̣alamoo
wronged
قَوۡلًا
q̣awlan
(the) word
غَيۡرَ
g̣ayral
other (than)
ٱلَّذِي
laẓee
(that) which
قِيلَ
q̣eela
was said
لَهُمۡ
lahum
to them
فَأَنزَلۡنَا
faʹañzalnaa
so We sent down
عَلَى
ʻalal
upon
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those who
ظَلَمُواْ
z̤̣alamoo
wronged
رِجۡزٗا
rijzam
a punishment
مِّنَ
minas
from
ٱلسَّمَآءِ
samaaaʹi
the sky
بِمَا
bimaa
because
كَانُواْ
Kaanoo
they were
يَفۡسُقُونَ
yafsuq̣oon.
defiantly disobeying
٥٩
2:60
۞وَإِذِ
Wa-ʹiẓis
And when
ٱسۡتَسۡقَىٰ
tasq̣aa
asked (for) water
مُوسَىٰ
Moosaa
Musa
لِقَوۡمِهِۦ
liq̣awmihee
for his people
فَقُلۡنَا
faq̣ulnaḍ
[so] We said
ٱضۡرِب
rib
Strike
بِّعَصَاكَ
biʻAṣaakal
with your staff
ٱلۡحَجَرَۖ
ḥajar.
the stone
فَٱنفَجَرَتۡ
Fañfajarat
Then gushed forth
مِنۡهُ
minhus̤
from it
ٱثۡنَتَا
nataa
two
عَشۡرَةَ
ʻashrata
(and) ten [ie twelve]
عَيۡنٗاۖ
ʻaynaa.
springs
قَدۡ
Q̣ad
Indeed
عَلِمَ
ʻalima
knew
كُلُّ
Kullu
all
أُنَاسٖ
ʻunaasim
(the) people
مَّشۡرَبَهُمۡۖ
mashrabahum.
their drinking place
كُلُواْ
Kuloo
Eat
وَٱشۡرَبُواْ
washraboo
and drink
مِن
mir
from
رِّزۡقِ
rizq̣il
(the) provision (of)
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
Allah
وَلَا
walaa
and (do) not
تَعۡثَوۡاْ
taʻs̤aw
act wickedly
فِي
fil
in
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ
ʹarḍi
the earth
مُفۡسِدِينَ
mufsideen.
spreading corruption
٦٠
2:61
وَإِذۡ
Waʹiẓ
And when
قُلۡتُمۡ
q̣ultum
you said
يَٰمُوسَىٰ
yaa-Moosaa
O Musa
لَن
lan
Never (will)
نَّصۡبِرَ
naṣbira
we endure
عَلَىٰ
ʻalaa
[on]
طَعَامٖ
ṭaʻaamiñw
food
وَٰحِدٖ
waaḥidiñ
(of) one (kind)
فَٱدۡعُ
fadʻu
so pray
لَنَا
lanaa
for us
رَبَّكَ
Rabbaka
(to) your Lord
يُخۡرِجۡ
yukhrij
to bring forth
لَنَا
lanaa
for us
مِمَّا
mimmaa
out of what
تُنۢبِتُ
tumbitul
grows
ٱلۡأَرۡضُ
ʹarḍu
the earth
مِنۢ
mim
of
بَقۡلِهَا
baq̣lihaa
its herbs
وَقِثَّآئِهَا
Wa-q̣is̤s̤aaaʹihaa
[and] its cucumbers
وَفُومِهَا
Wa-foomihaa
[and] its garlic
وَعَدَسِهَا
wa-ʻadasihaa
[and] its lentils
وَبَصَلِهَاۖ
wa-baṣalihaa.
and its onions
قَالَ
Q̣aala
He said
أَتَسۡتَبۡدِلُونَ
ʹatastabdiloonal
Would you exchange
ٱلَّذِي
laẓee
that which
هُوَ
huwa
[it]
أَدۡنَىٰ
ʹadnaa
(is) inferior
بِٱلَّذِي
billaẓee
for that which
هُوَ
huwa
[it]
خَيۡرٌۚ
Khayr?
(is) better
ٱهۡبِطُواْ
ʹIhbiṭoo
Go down
مِصۡرٗا
miṣrañ
(to) a city
فَإِنَّ
faʹinna
so indeed
لَكُم
lakum
for you
مَّا
maa
(is) what
سَأَلۡتُمۡۗ
saʹaltum.
you have asked (for)
وَضُرِبَتۡ
Waḍuribat
And were struck
عَلَيۡهِمُ
ʻalayhimuẓ
on them
ٱلذِّلَّةُ
ẓillatu
the humiliation
وَٱلۡمَسۡكَنَةُ
walmaskanah;
and the misery
وَبَآءُو
wa-baaaʹoo
and they drew on themselves
بِغَضَبٖ
big̣aḍabim
wrath
مِّنَ
minal
of
ٱللَّهِۚ
laah.
Allah
ذَٰلِكَ
Ẓaalika
That (was)
بِأَنَّهُمۡ
biʹannahum
because they
كَانُواْ
kaanoo
used to
يَكۡفُرُونَ
yakfuroona
disbelieve
بِـَٔايَٰتِ
biʹaayaatil
in (the) Signs
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
(of) Allah
وَيَقۡتُلُونَ
wa-yaq̣tuloonan
and kill
ٱلنَّبِيِّـۧنَ
nabiyyeena
the Prophets
بِغَيۡرِ
big̣ayril
without (any)
ٱلۡحَقِّۚ
ḥaq̣q̣.
[the] right
ذَٰلِكَ
Ẓaalika
That
بِمَا
bimaa
(was) because
عَصَواْ
ʻaṣaw
they disobeyed
وَّكَانُواْ
Wa-kaanoo
and they were
يَعۡتَدُونَ
yaʻtadoon.
transgressing
٦١

2:62
إِنَّ
ʹInnal
Indeed
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those who
ءَامَنُواْ
ʹaamanoo
believed
وَٱلَّذِينَ
Wallaẓeena
and those who
هَادُواْ
haadoo
became Jews
وَٱلنَّصَٰرَىٰ
wan-Naṣaaraa
and the Christians
وَٱلصَّٰبِـِٔينَ
waṣ-Ṣaabiʹeena
and the Sabians
مَنۡ
man
who
ءَامَنَ
ʹaamana
believed
بِٱللَّهِ
billaahi
in Allah
وَٱلۡيَوۡمِ
wal-Yawmil
and the Day
ٱلۡأٓخِرِ
ʹAakhiri
[the] Last
وَعَمِلَ
waʻamila
and did
صَٰلِحٗا
ṣaaliḥañ
righteous deeds
فَلَهُمۡ
falahum
so for them
أَجۡرُهُمۡ
ʹajruhum
their reward
عِندَ
ʻiñda
(is) with
رَبِّهِمۡ
Rabbihim:
their Lord
وَلَا
Walaa
and no
خَوۡفٌ
khawfun
fear
عَلَيۡهِمۡ
ʻalayhim
on them
وَلَا
walaa
and not
هُمۡ
hum
they
يَحۡزَنُونَ
yaḥzanoon.
will grieve
٦٢
2:63
وَإِذۡ
Wa-ʹiẓ
And when
أَخَذۡنَا
ʹakhaẓnaa
We took
مِيثَٰقَكُمۡ
Mees̤aaq̣akum
your covenant
وَرَفَعۡنَا
Wa-rafaʻnaa
and We raised
فَوۡقَكُمُ
fawq̣akumuṭ
over you
ٱلطُّورَ
Ṭoor:
the mount
خُذُواْ
Khuẓoo
Hold
مَآ
maaa
what
ءَاتَيۡنَٰكُم
aataynaakum̃
We have given you
بِقُوَّةٖ
biq̣uwwatiñw
with strength
وَٱذۡكُرُواْ
waẓkuroo
and remember
مَا
maa
what
فِيهِ
feehi
(is) in it
لَعَلَّكُمۡ
laʻallakum
perhaps you
تَتَّقُونَ
tattaq̣oon.
(would become) righteous
٦٣
2:64
ثُمَّ
S̤umma
Then
تَوَلَّيۡتُم
tawallaytum
you turned away
مِّنۢ
mim̃
from
بَعۡدِ
baʻdi
after
ذَٰلِكَۖ
ẓaalik:
that
فَلَوۡلَا
Falawlaa
So if not
فَضۡلُ
faḍlul
(for the) Grace
ٱللَّهِ
lahi
(of) Allah
عَلَيۡكُمۡ
ʻalaykum
upon you
وَرَحۡمَتُهُۥ
wa-raḥmatuhoo
and His Mercy
لَكُنتُم
lakuñtum
surely you would have been
مِّنَ
minal
of
ٱلۡخَٰسِرِينَ
khaasireen.
the losers
٦٤
2:65
وَلَقَدۡ
Wa-laq̣ad
And indeed
عَلِمۡتُمُ
ʻalimtumul
you knew
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeenaʻ
those who
ٱعۡتَدَوۡاْ
tadaw
transgressed
مِنكُمۡ
miñkum
among you
فِي
fis
in
ٱلسَّبۡتِ
Sabti
the (matter of) Sabbath
فَقُلۡنَا
faq̣ulnaa
So We said
لَهُمۡ
lahum
to them
كُونُواْ
koonoo
Be
قِرَدَةً
q̣iradatan
apes
خَٰسِـِٔينَ
khaasiʹeen!
despised
٦٥
2:66
فَجَعَلۡنَٰهَا
Fajaʻalnaahaa
So We made it
نَكَٰلٗا
nakaalal
a deterrent punishment
لِّمَا
limaa
for those
بَيۡنَ
bayna
(in) front
يَدَيۡهَا
yadayhaa
(of) them
وَمَا
wa-maa
and those
خَلۡفَهَا
khalfahaa
after them
وَمَوۡعِظَةٗ
wa-mawʻiz̤̣atal
and an admonition
لِّلۡمُتَّقِينَ
lil-Muttaq̣een.
for those who fear (Allah)
٦٦
2:67
وَإِذۡ
Wa-ʹiẓ
And when
قَالَ
q̣aala
said
مُوسَىٰ
Moosaa
Musa
لِقَوۡمِهِۦٓ
liq̣awmiheee
to his people
إِنَّ
ʹinnal
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
يَأۡمُرُكُمۡ
yaʹmurukum
commands you
أَن
ʹañ
that
تَذۡبَحُواْ
taẓbaḥoo
you slaughter
بَقَرَةٗۖ
Baq̣arah.
a cow
قَالُوٓاْ
Q̣aalooo
They said
أَتَتَّخِذُنَا
ʹatattakhiẓunaa
Do you take us
هُزُوٗاۖ
huzuwaa?
(in) ridicule
قَالَ
Q̣aala
He said
أَعُوذُ
ʹaʻooẓu
I seek refuge
بِٱللَّهِ
billaahi
in Allah
أَنۡ
ʹan
that
أَكُونَ
ʹakoona
I be
مِنَ
minal
among
ٱلۡجَٰهِلِينَ
jaahileen!
the ignorant
٦٧
2:68
قَالُواْ
Q̣aalud
They said
ٱدۡعُ
ʻu
Pray
لَنَا
lanaa
for us
رَبَّكَ
Rabbaka
(to) your Lord
يُبَيِّن
yubayyil
to make clear
لَّنَا
lanaa
to us
مَا
maa-
what
هِيَۚ
hee!
it (is)
قَالَ
Q̣aala
He said
إِنَّهُۥ
ʹinnahoo
Indeed He
يَقُولُ
yaq̣oolu
says
إِنَّهَا
ʹinnahaa
[Indeed] it
بَقَرَةٞ
baq̣aratul
(is) a cow
لَّا
laa
not
فَارِضٞ
faariḍuñw
old
وَلَا
walaa
and not
بِكۡرٌ
bikr;
young
عَوَانُۢ
ʻawaanum
middle aged
بَيۡنَ
bayna
between
ذَٰلِكَۖ
ẓaalik:
that
فَٱفۡعَلُواْ
fafʻaloo
so do
مَا
maa-
what
تُؤۡمَرُونَ
tuʹmaroon.
you are commanded
٦٨
2:69
قَالُواْ
Q̣aalud
They said
ٱدۡعُ
ʻu
Pray
لَنَا
lanaa
for us
رَبَّكَ
Rabbaka
(to) your Lord
يُبَيِّن
yubayyil
to make clear
لَّنَا
lanaa
to us
مَا
maa-
what
لَوۡنُهَاۚ
lawnuhaa.
(is) its color
قَالَ
Q̣aala
He said
إِنَّهُۥ
ʹinnahoo
Indeed He
يَقُولُ
yaq̣oolu
says
إِنَّهَا
ʹinnahaa
[Indeed] it is
بَقَرَةٞ
baq̣aratuñ
a cow
صَفۡرَآءُ
ṣafraaaʹu
yellow
فَاقِعٞ
faaq̣iʻul
bright
لَّوۡنُهَا
lawnuhaa
(in) its color
تَسُرُّ
tasurrun
pleasing
ٱلنَّٰظِرِينَ
naaz̤̣ireen.
(to) those who see (it)
٦٩

قَالُواْ
Q̣aalud
They said
ٱدۡعُ
ʻu
Pray
لَنَا
lanaa
for us
رَبَّكَ
Rabbaka
(to) your Lord
يُبَيِّن
yubayyil
to make clear
لَّنَا
lanaa
to us
مَا
maa-
what
هِيَ
hiya
it (is)
إِنَّ
ʹinnal
Indeed
ٱلۡبَقَرَ
baq̣ara
[the] cows
تَشَٰبَهَ
tashaabaha
look alike
عَلَيۡنَا
ʻalaynaa:
to us
وَإِنَّآ
wa-ʹinnaaa
And indeed we
إِن
ʹiñ
if
شَآءَ
shaaaʹal
wills
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah
لَمُهۡتَدُونَ
lamuhtadoon.
(will) surely be those who are guided
٧٠
2:71
قَالَ
Q̣aala
He said
إِنَّهُۥ
ʹinnahoo
Indeed He
يَقُولُ
yaq̣oolu
says
إِنَّهَا
ʹinnahaa
[Indeed] it
بَقَرَةٞ
baq̣aratul
(is) a cow
لَّا
laa
not
ذَلُولٞ
ẓalooluñ
trained
تُثِيرُ
tus̤eerul
to plough
ٱلۡأَرۡضَ
ʹarḍa
the earth
وَلَا
wa-laa
and not
تَسۡقِي
tasq̣il
water
ٱلۡحَرۡثَ
hars̤;
the field
مُسَلَّمَةٞ
musallamatul
sound
لَّا
laa
no
شِيَةَ
shiyata
blemish
فِيهَاۚ
feehaa.
in it
قَالُواْ
Q̣aalul
They said
ٱلۡـَٰٔنَ
ʹaana
Now
جِئۡتَ
jiʹta
you have come
بِٱلۡحَقِّۚ
bilḥaq̣q̣.
with the truth
فَذَبَحُوهَا
Faẓabaḥoohaa
So they slaughtered it
وَمَا
wa-maa
and not
كَادُواْ
kaadoo
they were near
يَفۡعَلُونَ
yafʻaloon.
(to) doing (it)
٧١
2:72
وَإِذۡ
Wa-ʹiẓ
And when
قَتَلۡتُمۡ
q̣ataltum
you killed
نَفۡسٗا
nafsañ
a man
فَٱدَّٰرَٰءۡتُمۡ
faddaaraʹtum
then you disputed
فِيهَاۖ
feehaa:
concerning it
وَٱللَّهُ
wallaahu
but Allah
مُخۡرِجٞ
mukhrijum
(is) the One Who brought forth
مَّا
maa
what
كُنتُمۡ
kuñtum
you were
تَكۡتُمُونَ
taktumoon.
concealing
٧٢
2:73
فَقُلۡنَا
Faq̣ulnaḍ
So We said
ٱضۡرِبُوهُ
riboohu
Strike him
بِبَعۡضِهَاۚ
bibaʻḍihaa.
with a part of it
كَذَٰلِكَ
Kaẓaalika
Like this
يُحۡيِ
yuḥyil
revives
ٱللَّهُ
laa-hul
Allah
ٱلۡمَوۡتَىٰ
mawtaa
the dead
وَيُرِيكُمۡ
wa-yureekum
and shows you
ءَايَٰتِهِۦ
ʹAayaatihee
His Signs
لَعَلَّكُمۡ
laʻallakum
perhaps you may
تَعۡقِلُونَ
taʻq̣iloon.
use your intellect
٧٣
2:74
ثُمَّ
S̤umma
Then
قَسَتۡ
q̣asat
hardened
قُلُوبُكُم
q̣uloobukum
your hearts
مِّنۢ
mim
from
بَعۡدِ
baʻdi
after
ذَٰلِكَ
ẓaalika
that
فَهِيَ
fahiya
so they
كَٱلۡحِجَارَةِ
kalḥijaarati
(became) like [the] stones
أَوۡ
ʹaw
or
أَشَدُّ
ʹashaddu
stronger
قَسۡوَةٗۚ
q̣aswah.
(in) hardness
وَإِنَّ
Wa-ʹinna
And indeed
مِنَ
minal
from
ٱلۡحِجَارَةِ
ḥijaarati
the stones
لَمَا
lamaa
certainly (there are some) which
يَتَفَجَّرُ
yatafajjaru
gush forth
مِنۡهُ
minhul
from it
ٱلۡأَنۡهَٰرُۚ
ʹanhaar;
[the] rivers
وَإِنَّ
wa-ʹinna
and indeed
مِنۡهَا
minhaa
from them
لَمَا
lamaa
certainly (there are some) which
يَشَّقَّقُ

ٱلۡمَآءُۚ

[the] water
وَإِنَّ
Wa-ʹinna
and indeed
مِنۡهَا
minhaa
from them
لَمَا
lamaa
certainly (there are some) which
يَهۡبِطُ
yahbiṭu
fall down
مِنۡ
min
from
خَشۡيَةِ
khashyatil
fear
ٱللَّهِۗ
laah.
(of) Allah
وَمَا
Wa-mal
And not
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
(is) Allah
بِغَٰفِلٍ
big̣aafilin
unaware
عَمَّا
ʻammaa
of what
تَعۡمَلُونَ
taʻmaloon,
you do
٧٤
2:75
۞أَفَتَطۡمَعُونَ
ʹAfataṭmaʻoona
Do you hope
أَن
ʹañy
that
يُؤۡمِنُواْ
yuʹminoo
they will believe
لَكُمۡ
lakum
[for] you
وَقَدۡ
wa-q̣ad
while indeed
كَانَ
kaana
(there) has been
فَرِيقٞ
fareeq̣um
a party
مِّنۡهُمۡ
minhum
of them
يَسۡمَعُونَ
yasmaʻoona
(who used to) hear
كَلَٰمَ
Kalaamal
(the) words
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
(of) Allah
ثُمَّ
s̤umma
then
يُحَرِّفُونَهُۥ
yuḥarri-foonahoo
they distort it
مِنۢ
mim
from
بَعۡدِ
baʻdi
after
مَا
maa-
[what]
عَقَلُوهُ
ʻaq̣aloohu
they understood it
وَهُمۡ
wa-hum
while they
يَعۡلَمُونَ
yaʻlamoon?
know
٧٥
2:76
وَإِذَا
wa-ʹiẓaa
And when
لَقُواْ
laq̣ul
they meet
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those who
ءَامَنُواْ
ʹaamanoo
believe[d]
قَالُوٓاْ
q̣aalooo
they say
ءَامَنَّا
ʹaamannaa:
We have believed
وَإِذَا
wa-ʹiẓaa
But when
خَلَا
khalaa
meet in private
بَعۡضُهُمۡ
baʻḍuhum
some of them
إِلَىٰ
ʹilaa
with
بَعۡضٖ
baʻḍiñ
some (others)
قَالُوٓاْ
q̣aal ooo
they say
أَتُحَدِّثُونَهُم
ʹatuḥaddis̤oonahum
Do you tell them
بِمَا
bimaa
what
فَتَحَ
fataḥal
has
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah
عَلَيۡكُمۡ
ʻalaykum
to you
لِيُحَآجُّوكُم
liyuḥaaajjookum̃
so that they argue with you
بِهِۦ
bihee
therewith
عِندَ
ʻiñda
before
رَبِّكُمۡۚ
Rabbikum?
your Lord
أَفَلَا
ʹAfalaa
Then do (you) not
تَعۡقِلُونَ
taʻq̣iloon?
understand

أَوَلَا
ʹAwalaa
Do not
يَعۡلَمُونَ
yaʻlamoona
they know
أَنَّ
ʹannal
that
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
يَعۡلَمُ
yaʻlamu
knows
مَا
maa-
what
يُسِرُّونَ
yusirroona
they conceal
وَمَا
wa-maa
and what
يُعۡلِنُونَ
yuʻlinoon?
they declare
٧٧
2:78
وَمِنۡهُمۡ
Wa-minhum
And among them
أُمِّيُّونَ
ʹUmmiyyoona
(are) unlettered ones
لَا
laa-
(who) do not
يَعۡلَمُونَ
yaʻlamoonal
know
ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ
Kitaaba
the book
إِلَّآ
ʹillaaa
except
أَمَانِيَّ
ʹamaaniyya
wishful thinking
وَإِنۡ
wa-ʹin
and not
هُمۡ
hum
they
إِلَّا
ʹillaa
(do anything) except
يَظُنُّونَ
yaz̤̣unnoon.

2:79
فَوَيۡلٞ
Fawaylul
So woe
لِّلَّذِينَ
lillaẓeena
to those who
يَكۡتُبُونَ
yaktuboonal
write
ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ
Kitaaba
the book
بِأَيۡدِيهِمۡ
biʹaydeehim
with their (own) hands
ثُمَّ
s̤umma
then
يَقُولُونَ
yaq̣ooloona
they say
هَٰذَا
haaẓaa
This
مِنۡ
min
(is)
عِندِ
ʻiñdil
from
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
Allah
لِيَشۡتَرُواْ
liyashtaroo
to barter
بِهِۦ
bihee
with it
ثَمَنٗا
s̤amanañ
(for) a price
قَلِيلٗاۖ
q̣aleelaa!
little
فَوَيۡلٞ
Fawaylul
So woe
لَّهُم
lahum
to them
مِّمَّا
mimmaa
for what
كَتَبَتۡ
katabat
have written
أَيۡدِيهِمۡ
ʹaydeehim
their hands
وَوَيۡلٞ
wa-waylul
and woe
لَّهُم
lahum
to them
مِّمَّا
mimmaa
for what
يَكۡسِبُونَ
yaksiboon!
they earn
٧٩
2:80
وَقَالُواْ
Wa-q̣aaloo
And they say
لَن
lañ
Never
تَمَسَّنَا
tamassanan
will touch us
ٱلنَّارُ
Naaru
the Fire
إِلَّآ
ʹillaaa
except
أَيَّامٗا
ʹayyaamam
(for) days
مَّعۡدُودَةٗۚ
maʻdoodah.

Q̣ul
Say
أَتَّخَذۡتُمۡ
ʹattakhaẓtum
Have you taken
عِندَ
ʻiñdal
from
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
Allah
عَهۡدٗا
ʻahdañ
a covenant
فَلَن
falañy
so never
يُخۡلِفَ
yukhlifal
will break
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah
عَهۡدَهُۥٓۖ
ʻahdahooo
His Covenant
أَمۡ
ʹam
Or
تَقُولُونَ
taq̣ooloona
(do) you say
عَلَى
ʻalal
against
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
Allah
مَا
maa
what
لَا
laa-
not
تَعۡلَمُونَ
taʻlamoon?
you know
٨٠
2:81
بَلَىٰۚ
Balaa
Yes
مَن
mañ
whoever
كَسَبَ
kasaba
earned
سَيِّئَةٗ
sayyiʹatañw
evil
وَأَحَٰطَتۡ
waʹaḥaṭat
and surrounded him
بِهِۦ
bihee
with
خَطِيٓـَٔتُهُۥ
khaṭeeeʹatuhoo
his sins
فَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ
faʹulaaaʹika
[so] those
أَصۡحَٰبُ
ʹAṣḥaabun
(are the) companions
ٱلنَّارِۖ
Naar:
(of) the Fire
هُمۡ
hum
they
فِيهَا
feehaa
in it
خَٰلِدُونَ
khaalidoon.
(will) abide forever
٨١
2:82
وَٱلَّذِينَ
Wallaẓeena
And those who
ءَامَنُواْ
ʹaamanoo
believed
وَعَمِلُواْ
wa-ʻamiluṣ
and did
ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ
ṣaaliḥaati
righteous deeds
أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ
ʹulaaaʹika
those
أَصۡحَٰبُ
ʹAṣḥaabul
(are the) companions
ٱلۡجَنَّةِۖ
Jannah:
(of) Paradise
هُمۡ
hum
they
فِيهَا
feehaa
in it
خَٰلِدُونَ
khaalidoon.
(will) abide forever
٨٢
2:83
وَإِذۡ
Wa-ʹiẓ
And when
أَخَذۡنَا
ʹakhaẓnaa
We took
مِيثَٰقَ
Mees̤aaq̣a
(the) covenant
بَنِيٓ
Baneee
(from the) Children
إِسۡرَٰٓءِيلَ
ʹIsraaaʹeela
(of) Israel
لَا
laa-
Not
تَعۡبُدُونَ
taʻbudoona
you will worship
إِلَّا
ʹillal
except
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
وَبِٱلۡوَٰلِدَيۡنِ
wa-bilwaalidayni
and with [the] parents
إِحۡسَانٗا
ʹiḥsaanañw
(be) good
وَذِي
waẓil
and (with)
ٱلۡقُرۡبَىٰ
q̣urbaa
relatives
وَٱلۡيَتَٰمَىٰ
walyataamaa
and [the] orphans
وَٱلۡمَسَٰكِينِ
walmasaakeeni
and the needy
وَقُولُواْ
wa-q̣ooloo
and speak
لِلنَّاسِ
linnasi
to [the] people
حُسۡنٗا
ḥusnañw
good
وَأَقِيمُواْ
waʹaq̣eemuṣ
and establish
ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ
Ṣalaata
the prayer
وَءَاتُواْ
wa-ʹaatuz
and give
ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ
Zakaah.
the zakah
ثُمَّ
Ṣumma
Then
تَوَلَّيۡتُمۡ
tawallaytum
you turned away
إِلَّا
ʹillaa
except
قَلِيلٗا
q̣aleelam
a few
مِّنكُمۡ
miñkum
of you
وَأَنتُم
wa-ʹañtum
and you (were)
مُّعۡرِضُونَ
muʻriḍoon.
refusing

وَإِذۡ
Wa-ʹiẓ
And when
أَخَذۡنَا
ʹakhaẓnaa
We took
مِيثَٰقَكُمۡ
Mees̤aa-q̣akum
your covenant
لَا
laa-
Not
تَسۡفِكُونَ
tasfikoona
will you shed
دِمَآءَكُمۡ
dimaaaʹakum
your blood
وَلَا
wa-laa
and not
تُخۡرِجُونَ
tukhrijoona
(will) evict
أَنفُسَكُم
ʹañfusakum
yourselves
مِّن
miñ
from
دِيَٰرِكُمۡ
diyaarikum
your homes
ثُمَّ
s̤umma
then
أَقۡرَرۡتُمۡ
ʹaq̣rartum
you ratified
وَأَنتُمۡ
wa-ʹañtum
while you
تَشۡهَدُونَ
tashhadoon.
(were) witnessing
٨٤
2:85
ثُمَّ
S̤umma
Then
أَنتُمۡ
ʹañtum
you
هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ
haaaʹulaaaʹi
(are) those
تَقۡتُلُونَ
taq̣tuloona
(who) kill
أَنفُسَكُمۡ
ʹañfusakum
yourselves
وَتُخۡرِجُونَ
wa-tukhrijoona
and evict
فَرِيقٗا
fareeq̣am
a party
مِّنكُم
miñkum
of you
مِّن
miñ
from
دِيَٰرِهِمۡ
diyaarihim;
their homes
تَظَٰهَرُونَ
taz̤̣aaharoona
you support one another
عَلَيۡهِم
ʻalayhim̃
against them
بِٱلۡإِثۡمِ
bil-ʹis̤mi
in sin
وَٱلۡعُدۡوَٰنِ
walʻudwaan;
and [the] transgression
وَإِن
wa-ʹiñy
And if
يَأۡتُوكُمۡ
yaʹtookum
they come to you
أُسَٰرَىٰ
ʹusaaraa
(as) captives
تُفَٰدُوهُمۡ
tufaadoohum
you ransom them
وَهُوَ
wa-huwa
while it
مُحَرَّمٌ
muḥarramun
(was) forbidden
عَلَيۡكُمۡ
ʻalaykum
to you
إِخۡرَاجُهُمۡۚ
ʹikhraajuhum.
their eviction
أَفَتُؤۡمِنُونَ
ʹAfatuʹminoona
So do you believe
بِبَعۡضِ
bibaʻḍil
in part (of)
ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ
Kitaabi
the Book
وَتَكۡفُرُونَ
wa-takfuroona
and disbelieve
بِبَعۡضٖۚ
bibaʻḍ?
in part
فَمَا
Famaa
Then what
جَزَآءُ
jazaaaʹu
(should be the) recompense
مَن
mañy
(for the one) who
يَفۡعَلُ
yafʻalu
does
ذَٰلِكَ
ẓaalika
that
مِنكُمۡ
miñkum
among you
إِلَّا
ʹillaa
except
خِزۡيٞ
khizyuñ
disgrace
فِي
fil
in
ٱلۡحَيَوٰةِ
ḥayaatid
the life
ٱلدُّنۡيَاۖ
dunyaa?
(of) the world
وَيَوۡمَ
Wa-Yawmal
and (on the) Day
ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِ
Q̣iyaamati
of [the] Resurrection
يُرَدُّونَ
yuraddoona
they will be sent back
إِلَىٰٓ
ʹilaaa
to
أَشَدِّ
ʹashaddil
(the) most severe
ٱلۡعَذَابِۗ
ʻaẓaab.
punishment
وَمَا
Wa-mal
And not
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
(is) Allah
بِغَٰفِلٍ
big̣aafilin
unaware
عَمَّا
ʻammaa
of what
تَعۡمَلُونَ
taʻmaloon.
you do
٨٥
2:86
أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ
ʹUlaaaʹikal
Those
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeenash
(are) the ones who
ٱشۡتَرَوُاْ
tarawul
bought
ٱلۡحَيَوٰةَ
ḥayaatad
the life
ٱلدُّنۡيَا
Dunyaa
(of) the world
بِٱلۡأٓخِرَةِۖ
bil-ʹAakhirati
for the Hereafter
فَلَا
falaa
so not
يُخَفَّفُ
yukhaffafu
will be lightened
عَنۡهُمُ
ʻanhumul
for them
ٱلۡعَذَابُ
ʻaẓaabu
the punishment
وَلَا
wa-laa
and not
هُمۡ
hum
they
يُنصَرُونَ
yuñṣaroon.
will be helped
٨٦
2:87
وَلَقَدۡ
Wa-laq̣ad
And indeed
ءَاتَيۡنَا
ʹaataynaa
We gave
مُوسَى
Moosal
Musa
ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ
Kitaaba
the Book
وَقَفَّيۡنَا
wa-q̣affaynaa
and We followed up
مِنۢ
mim
from
بَعۡدِهِۦ
baʻdihee
after him
بِٱلرُّسُلِۖ
bir-rusuli
with [the] Messengers
وَءَاتَيۡنَا
wa-ʹaataynaa
And We gave
عِيسَى
ʻeesab
Isa
ٱبۡنَ
na
(the) son
مَرۡيَمَ
Maryamal
(of) Maryam
ٱلۡبَيِّنَٰتِ
Bayyinaati
[the] clear signs
وَأَيَّدۡنَٰهُ
wa-ʹayyadnaahu
and We supported him
بِرُوحِ
bi-rooḥil
(with)
ٱلۡقُدُسِۗ
q̣udus.
the Holy Spirit
أَفَكُلَّمَا
ʹAfakullamaa
Is it (not) so (that) whenever
جَآءَكُمۡ
jaaaʹakum
came to you
رَسُولُۢ
Rasoolum̃
a Messenger
بِمَا
bimaa
with what
لَا
laa-
(does) not
تَهۡوَىٰٓ
tahwaaa
desire
أَنفُسُكُمُ
ʹañfusukumus
yourselves
ٱسۡتَكۡبَرۡتُمۡ
takbartum?
you acted arrogantly
فَفَرِيقٗا
Fafareeq̣añ
So a party
كَذَّبۡتُمۡ
kaẓẓabtum
you denied
وَفَرِيقٗا
wa-fareeq̣añ
and a party
تَقۡتُلُونَ
taq̣tuloon?
you kill(ed)
٨٧
2:88
وَقَالُواْ
Wa-q̣aloo
And they said
قُلُوبُنَا
q̣uloobunaa
Our hearts
غُلۡفُۢۚ
g̣ulf;
(are) wrapped
بَل
bal
Nay
لَّعَنَهُمُ
laʻanahumul
has cursed them
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah
بِكُفۡرِهِمۡ
bikufrihim
for their disbelief
فَقَلِيلٗا
faq̣aleelam
so little
مَّا
maa
(is) what
يُؤۡمِنُونَ
yuʹminoon.
they believe
٨٨

وَلَمَّا
Wa-lammaa
And when
جَآءَهُمۡ
jaaaʹahum
came to them
كِتَٰبٞ
Kitaabum
a Book
مِّنۡ
min
of
عِندِ
ʻiñdil
from
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
Allah
مُصَدِّقٞ
muṣaddiq̣ul
confirming
لِّمَا
limaa
what (was)
مَعَهُمۡ
maʻahum
with them
وَكَانُواْ
wa-kaanoo
though they used to
مِن
miñ
from
قَبۡلُ
q̣ablu
before
يَسۡتَفۡتِحُونَ
yastaftiḥoona
(that) pray for victory
عَلَى
ʻalal
over
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those who
كَفَرُواْ
kafaroo,
disbelieved
فَلَمَّا
falammaa
then when
جَآءَهُم
jaaaʹahum
came to them
مَّا
maa
what
عَرَفُواْ
ʻarafoo
they recognized
كَفَرُواْ
kafaroo
they disbelieved
بِهِۦۚ
bihee
in it
فَلَعۡنَةُ
falaʻnatul
So (the) curse
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
(of) Allah
عَلَى
ʻalal
(is) on
ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ
Kaafireen.
the disbelievers
٨٩
2:90
بِئۡسَمَا
Biʹsamash
Evil (is) that
ٱشۡتَرَوۡاْ
taraw
(for) which they have sold
بِهِۦٓ
biheee
with
أَنفُسَهُمۡ
ʹañfusahum
themselves
أَن
ʹañy
that
يَكۡفُرُواْ
yakfuroo
they disbelieve
بِمَآ
bimaaa
in what
أَنزَلَ
ʹañzalal
has revealed
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah
بَغۡيًا
bag̣yan
grudging
أَن
ʹañy
that
يُنَزِّلَ
yunazzilal
sends down
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah
مِن
miñ
of
فَضۡلِهِۦ
faz̤̣lihee
His Grace
عَلَىٰ
ʻalaa
on
مَن
mañy
whom
يَشَآءُ
yashaaaʹu
He wills
مِنۡ
min
from
عِبَادِهِۦۖ
ʻibaadih.
His servants
فَبَآءُو
Fabaaaʹoo
So they have drawn (on themselves)
بِغَضَبٍ
big̣aḍabin
wrath
عَلَىٰ
ʻalaa
upon
غَضَبٖۚ
g̣aḍab.
wrath
وَلِلۡكَٰفِرِينَ
Wa-lil-Kaafireena
And for the disbelievers
عَذَابٞ
ʻaẓaabum
(is) a punishment
مُّهِينٞ
muheen.
humiliating
٩٠
2:91
وَإِذَا
Wa-ʹiẓaa
And when
قِيلَ
q̣eela
it is said
لَهُمۡ
lahum
to them
ءَامِنُواْ
ʹaaminoo
Believe
بِمَآ
bimaaa
in what
أَنزَلَ
ʹañzalal
has revealed
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah
قَالُواْ
q̣aaloo
they say
نُؤۡمِنُ
nuʹminu
We believe
بِمَآ
bimaaa
in what
أُنزِلَ
ʹuñzila
was revealed
عَلَيۡنَا
ʻalaynaa
to us
وَيَكۡفُرُونَ
wa-yakfuroona
And they disbelieve
بِمَا
bimaa
in what
وَرَآءَهُۥ
waraaaʹahoo
(is) besides it
وَهُوَ
wa-huwal
while it
ٱلۡحَقُّ
Ḥaq̣q̣u
(is) the truth
مُصَدِّقٗا
muṣaddiq̣al
confirming
لِّمَا
limaa
what
مَعَهُمۡۗ
maʻahum.
(is) with them
قُلۡ
Q̣ul
Say
فَلِمَ
falima
Then why
تَقۡتُلُونَ
taq̣tuloona
(did) you kill
أَنۢبِيَآءَ
ʹambiyaaaʹal
(the) Prophets
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
(of) Allah
مِن
miñ
from
قَبۡلُ
q̣ablu
before
إِن
ʹiñ
if
كُنتُم
kuñtum
you were
مُّؤۡمِنِينَ
muʹmineen?
believers
٩١
2:92
۞وَلَقَدۡ
Wa-laq̣ad
And indeed
جَآءَكُم
jaaaʹakum
came to you
مُّوسَىٰ
Moosaa
Musa
بِٱلۡبَيِّنَٰتِ
bil-Bayyinaati
with [the] clear signs
ثُمَّ
s̤ummat
then
ٱتَّخَذۡتُمُ
takhaẓtumul
you took
ٱلۡعِجۡلَ
ʻijla
the calf
مِنۢ
mim
from
بَعۡدِهِۦ
baʻdihee
after him
وَأَنتُمۡ
wa-ʹañtum
and you
ظَٰلِمُونَ
z̤̣aalimoon.
(were) wrongdoers
٩٢
2:93
وَإِذۡ
Wa-ʹiẓ
And when
أَخَذۡنَا
ʹakhaẓnaa
We took
مِيثَٰقَكُمۡ
Mees̤aaq̣akum
your covenant
وَرَفَعۡنَا
wa-rafaʻnaa
and We raised
فَوۡقَكُمُ
fawq̣akumuṭ
over you
ٱلطُّورَ
Ṭoor:
the mount
خُذُواْ
khuẓoo
Hold
مَآ
maaa
what
ءَاتَيۡنَٰكُم
ʹaataynaakum̃
We gave you
بِقُوَّةٖ
biq̣uwwatiñw
with firmness
وَٱسۡمَعُواْۖ
wasmaʻoo.
and listen
قَالُواْ
Q̣aaloo
They said
سَمِعۡنَا
samiʻnaa
We heard
وَعَصَيۡنَا
wa-ʻaṣaynaa:
and we disobeyed
وَأُشۡرِبُواْ
wa-ʹushriboo
And they were made to drink
فِي
fee
in
قُلُوبِهِمُ
q̣uloobihimul
their hearts
ٱلۡعِجۡلَ
ʻijla
(love of) the calf
بِكُفۡرِهِمۡۚ
bikufrihim.
because of their disbelief
قُلۡ
Q̣ul
Say
بِئۡسَمَا
biʹsamaa
Evil (is) that
يَأۡمُرُكُم
yaʹmurukum̃
orders you (to do) it
بِهِۦٓ
biheee
with
إِيمَٰنُكُمۡ
ʹeemaanukum
your faith
إِن
ʹiñ
if
كُنتُم
kuñtum
you are
مُّؤۡمِنِينَ
muʹmineen.
believers
٩٣

قُلۡ
Q̣ul
Say
إِن
ʹiñ
If
كَانَتۡ
kaanat
is
لَكُمُ
lakumud
for you
ٱلدَّارُ
Daarul
the home
ٱلۡأٓخِرَةُ
ʹAakhiratu
(of) the Hereafter
عِندَ
ʻiñdal
with
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
Allah
خَالِصَةٗ
khaaliṣatam
exclusively
مِّن
min
from
دُونِ
doonin
excluding
ٱلنَّاسِ
naasi
the mankind
فَتَمَنَّوُاْ
fatamannawul
then wish
ٱلۡمَوۡتَ
mawta
(for) [the] death
إِن
ʹiñ
if
كُنتُمۡ
kuñtum
you are
صَٰدِقِينَ
ṣaadiq̣een.
truthful
٩٤
2:95
وَلَن
Wa-lañy
And never (will)
يَتَمَنَّوۡهُ
yatamannawhu
they wish for it
أَبَدَۢا
ʹabadam
ever
بِمَا
bimaa
because
قَدَّمَتۡ
q̣addamat
(of what) sent ahead
أَيۡدِيهِمۡۚ
ʹaydeehim.
their hands
وَٱللَّهُ
Wallaahu
And Allah
عَلِيمُۢ
ʻAleemum̃
(is) All-Knower
بِٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
biz̤̣z̤̣aalimeen.
of the wrongdoers
٩٥
2:96
وَلَتَجِدَنَّهُمۡ
Wa-latajidannahum
And surely you will find them
أَحۡرَصَ
ʹaḥraṣan
(the) most greedy
ٱلنَّاسِ
naasi
(of) [the] mankind
عَلَىٰ
ʻalaa
for
حَيَوٰةٖ
ḥayaah.
life
وَمِنَ
Wa-minal
and (greedier) than
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those who
أَشۡرَكُواْۚ
ʹashrakoo
associate[d] partners (with Allah)
يَوَدُّ
yawaddu
Loves
أَحَدُهُمۡ
ʹaḥaduhum
(each) one of them
لَوۡ
law
if
يُعَمَّرُ
yuʻammaru
he could be granted a life
أَلۡفَ
ʹalfa
(of) a thousand
سَنَةٖ
sanah:
year(s)
وَمَا
wa-maa
But not
هُوَ
huwa
it
بِمُزَحۡزِحِهِۦ
bi-muzaḥziḥihee
(will) remove him
مِنَ
minal
from
ٱلۡعَذَابِ
ʻaẓaabi
the punishment
أَن
ʹañy
that
يُعَمَّرَۗ
yuʻammar.
he should be granted life
وَٱللَّهُ
Wallaahu
And Allah
بَصِيرُۢ
Baseerum
(is) All-Seer
بِمَا
bimaa
of what
يَعۡمَلُونَ
yaʻmaloon.
they do
٩٦
2:97
قُلۡ
Q̣ul
Say
مَن
mañ
Whoever
كَانَ
kaana
is
عَدُوّٗا
ʻaduwwal
an enemy
لِّـجِبۡرِيلَ
li-Jibreela
to Jibreel
فَإِنَّهُۥ
faʹinnahoo
then indeed he
نَزَّلَهُۥ
nazzalahoo
brought it down
عَلَىٰ
ʻalaa
on
قَلۡبِكَ
q̣albika
your heart
بِإِذۡنِ
biʹiẓnil
by (the) permission
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
(of) Allah
مُصَدِّقٗا
muṣaddiq̣al
confirming
لِّمَا
limaa
what
بَيۡنَ
bayna
(was)
يَدَيۡهِ
yadayhi
before it
وَهُدٗى
wa-hudañw
and a guidance
وَبُشۡرَىٰ
wa- bushraa
and glad tiding(s)
لِلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
lil-Muʹmineen,
for the believers
٩٧
2:98
مَن
Mañ
Whoever
كَانَ
kaana
is
عَدُوّٗا
ʻaduwwal
an enemy
لِّلَّهِ
lillaahi
(to) Allah
وَمَلَٰٓئِكَتِهِۦ
wa-malaaaʹikatihee
and His Angels
وَرُسُلِهِۦ
wa-rusulihi
and His Messengers
وَجِبۡرِيلَ
wa-Jibreela
and Jibreel
وَمِيكَىٰلَ
wa-Meekaala
and Meekael
فَإِنَّ
faʹinnal
then indeed
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
عَدُوّٞ
ʻaduwwul
(is) an enemy
لِّلۡكَٰفِرِينَ
lilkaafireen.
to the disbelievers
٩٨
2:99
وَلَقَدۡ
Wa-laq̣ad
And indeed
أَنزَلۡنَآ
ʹañzalnaaa
We revealed
إِلَيۡكَ
ʹilayka
to you
ءَايَٰتِۭ
ʹAayaatim
Verses
بَيِّنَٰتٖۖ
bayyinaat;
clear
وَمَا
wa-maa
and not
يَكۡفُرُ
yakfuru
disbelieves
بِهَآ
bihaaa
in them
إِلَّا
ʹillal
except
ٱلۡفَٰسِقُونَ
faasiq̣oon.
the defiantly disobedient
٩٩
2:100
أَوَكُلَّمَا
ʹAwa-kullamaa
And is (it not that) whenever
عَٰهَدُواْ
ʻaahadoo
they took
عَهۡدٗا
ʻahdan
a covenant
نَّبَذَهُۥ
nabaẓahoo
threw it away
فَرِيقٞ
fareeq̣um
a party
مِّنۡهُمۚ
minhum?
of them
بَلۡ
Bal
Nay
أَكۡثَرُهُمۡ
ʹaks̤aruhum
most of them
لَا
laa-
(do) not
يُؤۡمِنُونَ
yuʹminoon.
believe
