فَهَزَمُوهُم
Fahazamoohum̃
So they defeated them
بِإِذۡنِ
biʹiẓnil
by (the) permission
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
(of) Allah
وَقَتَلَ
wa-q̣atala
and killed
دَاوُۥدُ
Daawoodu
Dawood
جَالُوتَ
Jaaloota
Jalut
وَءَاتَىٰهُ
wa-ʹaataahul
and gave him
ٱللَّهُ
laahul
Allah
ٱلۡمُلۡكَ
Mulka
the kingdom
وَٱلۡحِكۡمَةَ
wal-Ḥikmata
and the wisdom
وَعَلَّمَهُۥ
wa-ʻallamahoo
and taught him
مِمَّا
mimmaa
that which
يَشَآءُۗ
yashaaaʹ.
He willed
وَلَوۡلَا
Wa-law-laa
And if not
دَفۡعُ
dafʻul
(for the) repelling
ٱللَّهِ
laahin
(by) Allah
ٱلنَّاسَ
naasa
[the] people
بَعۡضَهُم
baʻḍahum̃
some of them
بِبَعۡضٖ
bibaʻḍil
with others
لَّفَسَدَتِ
lafasadatil
certainly (would have) corrupted
ٱلۡأَرۡضُ
ʹarḍu
the Earth
وَلَٰكِنَّ
wa-laakinnal
[and] but
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
ذُو
Ẓoo
(is) Possessor
فَضۡلٍ
Faḍlin
(of) bounty
عَلَى
ʻalal
to
ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
ʻaalameen.
the worlds
٢٥١
2:252
تِلۡكَ
Tilka
These
ءَايَٰتُ
ʹAayaatul
(are the) Verses
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
(of) Allah
نَتۡلُوهَا
natloohaa
We recite them
عَلَيۡكَ
ʻalayka
to you
بِٱلۡحَقِّۚ
bilḥaq̣q̣;
in [the] truth
وَإِنَّكَ
wa-ʹinnaka
And indeed you
لَمِنَ
laminal
(are) surely of
ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِينَ
Mursaleen.

۞تِلۡكَ
Tilkar
These
ٱلرُّسُلُ
rusulu
(are) the Messengers
فَضَّلۡنَا
faḍḍalnaa
We (have) preferred
بَعۡضَهُمۡ
baʻḍahum
some of them
عَلَىٰ
ʻalaa
over
بَعۡضٖۘ
baʻḍ.
others
مِّنۡهُم
Minhum
Among them
مَّن
mañ
(were those with) whom
كَلَّمَ
kallamal
spoke
ٱللَّهُۖ
laahu
Allah
وَرَفَعَ
wa-rafaʻa
and He raised
بَعۡضَهُمۡ
baʻḍahum
some of them
دَرَجَٰتٖۚ
darajaat.
(in) degrees
وَءَاتَيۡنَا
Wa-ʹaataynaa
And We gave
عِيسَى
ʻEesab
Isa
ٱبۡنَ
na
son
مَرۡيَمَ
Maryamal
(of) Maryam
ٱلۡبَيِّنَٰتِ
Bayyinaati
the clear proofs
وَأَيَّدۡنَٰهُ
wa-ʹayyadnaahu
and We supported him
بِرُوحِ
birooḥil
with Spirit
ٱلۡقُدُسِۗ
q̣udus.
[the] Holy
وَلَوۡ
Wa-law
And if
شَآءَ
shaaaʹal
(had) willed
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah
مَا
maq̣
not
ٱقۡتَتَلَ
tatalal
(would have) fought each other
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those who
مِنۢ
mim
(came) from
بَعۡدِهِم
baʻdihim
after them
مِّنۢ
mim
from
بَعۡدِ
baʻdi
after
مَا
maa-
[what]
جَآءَتۡهُمُ
jaaaʹathumul
came to them
ٱلۡبَيِّنَٰتُ
Bayyinaatu
the clear proofs
وَلَٰكِنِ
wa-laakinikh
[And] but
ٱخۡتَلَفُواْ
talafoo
they differed
فَمِنۡهُم
faminhum
[so] of them
مَّنۡ
man
(are some) who
ءَامَنَ
ʹaamana
believed
وَمِنۡهُم
wa-minhum
and of them
مَّن
mañ
(are some) who
كَفَرَۚ
kafar.
denied
وَلَوۡ
Wa-law
And if
شَآءَ
shaaaʹal
(had) willed
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah
مَا
maq̣
not
ٱقۡتَتَلُواْ
tataloo;
they (would have) fought each other
وَلَٰكِنَّ
wa-laakinnal
[and] but
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
يَفۡعَلُ
yafʻalu
does
مَا
maa-
what
يُرِيدُ
yureed.
He intends
٢٥٣
2:254
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
Yaaa-ʹayyuhal
O you
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
who
ءَامَنُوٓاْ
ʹaamanooo
believe[d]
أَنفِقُواْ
ʹañfiq̣oo
Spend
مِمَّا
mimmaa
of what
رَزَقۡنَٰكُم
razaq̣naakum
We (have) provided you
مِّن
miñ
from
قَبۡلِ
q̣abli
before
أَن
ʹañy
that
يَأۡتِيَ
yaʹtiya
comes
يَوۡمٞ
Yawmul
a Day
لَّا
laa
no
بَيۡعٞ
bayʻuñ
bargaining
فِيهِ
feehi
in it
وَلَا
walaa
and no
خُلَّةٞ
khullatuñw
friendship
وَلَا
walaa
and no
شَفَٰعَةٞۗ
shafaaʻah .
intercession
وَٱلۡكَٰفِرُونَ
Wal-kaafiroona
And the deniers
هُمُ
humuz̤̣
they
ٱلظَّٰلِمُونَ
z̤̣aalimoon.
(are) the wrongdoers
٢٥٤
2:255
ٱللَّهُ
ʹAllaahu
Allah
لَآ
laaa
(there is) no
إِلَٰهَ
ʹilaaha
God
إِلَّا
ʹillaa
except
هُوَ
HooʹAl
Him
ٱلۡحَيُّ
Ḥayyul
the Ever-Living
ٱلۡقَيُّومُۚ
Q̣ayyoom.
the Sustainer of all that exists
لَا
Laa-
Not
تَأۡخُذُهُۥ
taʹkhuẓuhoo
overtakes Him
سِنَةٞ
sinatuñw
slumber
وَلَا
walaa
[and] not
نَوۡمٞۚ
nawm.
sleep
لَّهُۥ
Lahoo
To Him (belongs)
مَا
Maa-
what(ever)
فِي
fis
(is) in
ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ
samaawaati
the heavens
وَمَا
wa-maa
and what(ever)
فِي
fil
(is) in
ٱلۡأَرۡضِۗ
ʹarḍ.
the earth
مَن
Mañ
Who
ذَا
ẓal
(is) the one
ٱلَّذِي
laẓee
who
يَشۡفَعُ
yashfaʻu
can intercede
عِندَهُۥٓ
ʻiñdahooo
with Him
إِلَّا
ʹillaa
except
بِإِذۡنِهِۦۚ
biʹiẓnih?
by His permission
يَعۡلَمُ
Yaʻlamu
He knows
مَا
Maa-
what
بَيۡنَ
bayna
(is)
أَيۡدِيهِمۡ
ʹaydeehim
before them
وَمَا
wa-maa
and what
خَلۡفَهُمۡۖ
khalfahum.
(is) behind them
وَلَا
Wa-laa
And not
يُحِيطُونَ
yuḥeeṭoona
they encompass
بِشَيۡءٖ
bishayʹim
anything
مِّنۡ
min
of
عِلۡمِهِۦٓ
ʻilmiheee
His Knowledge
إِلَّا
ʹillaa
except
بِمَا
bimaa
[of] what
شَآءَۚ
shaaaʹ.
He willed
وَسِعَ
Wasiʻa
Extends
كُرۡسِيُّهُ
Kursiyyuhus
His Seat
ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ
Samaawaati
(to) the heavens
وَٱلۡأَرۡضَۖ
wal-ʹarḍ;
and the earth
وَلَا
wa-laa
And not
يَـُٔودُهُۥ
yaʹooduhoo
tires Him
حِفۡظُهُمَاۚ
ḥifz̤̣uhumaa
(the) guarding of both of them
وَهُوَ
wa-Huwal
And He
ٱلۡعَلِيُّ
ʻAliyyul
(is) the Most High
ٱلۡعَظِيمُ
ʻAz̤̣eem.
the Most Great
٢٥٥
2:256
لَآ
Laaa
(There is) no
إِكۡرَاهَ
ʹikraaha
compulsion
فِي
fid
in
ٱلدِّينِۖ
deen.
the religion
قَد
Q̣at
Surely
تَّبَيَّنَ
tabayyanar
has become distinct
ٱلرُّشۡدُ
Rushdu
the right (path)
مِنَ
minal
from
ٱلۡغَيِّۚ
G̣ayy.
the wrong
فَمَن
Famañy
Then whoever
يَكۡفُرۡ
yakfur
disbelieves
بِٱلطَّٰغُوتِ
biṭ-Ṭaag̣ooti
in false deities
وَيُؤۡمِنۢ
wa-yuʹmim
and believes
بِٱللَّهِ
billaahi
in Allah
فَقَدِ
faq̣adis
then surely
ٱسۡتَمۡسَكَ
tamsaka
he grasped
بِٱلۡعُرۡوَةِ
bilʻurwatil
the handhold
ٱلۡوُثۡقَىٰ
wus̤q̣aa,
[the] firm
لَا
lañ
(which) not
ٱنفِصَامَ
fiṣaama
(will) break
لَهَاۗ
lahaa.
[for it]
وَٱللَّهُ
Wallaahu
And Allah
سَمِيعٌ
Sameeʻun
(is) All-Hearing
عَلِيمٌ
ʻAleem.
All-Knowing

2:257
ٱللَّهُ
ʹAllaahu
Allah
وَلِيُّ
Waliyyul
(is the) Protecting Guardian
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
(of) those who
ءَامَنُواْ
ʹaamanoo
believe[d]
يُخۡرِجُهُم
yukhrijuhum
He brings them out
مِّنَ
minaz̤̣
from
ٱلظُّلُمَٰتِ
z̤̣ulumaati
[the] darkness
إِلَى
ʹilan
towards
ٱلنُّورِۖ
noor.
[the] light
وَٱلَّذِينَ
Wallaẓeena
And those who
كَفَرُوٓاْ
kafarooo
disbelieve(d)
أَوۡلِيَآؤُهُمُ
ʹawliyaaaʹuhumuṭ
their guardians
ٱلطَّٰغُوتُ
Ṭaag̣ootu
(are) the evil ones
يُخۡرِجُونَهُم
yukhrijoonahum
they bring them out
مِّنَ
minan
from
ٱلنُّورِ
Noori
the light
إِلَى
ʹilaz̤̣
towards
ٱلظُّلُمَٰتِۗ
z̤̣ulumaat.
[the] darkness
أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ
ʹUlaaaʹika
Those
أَصۡحَٰبُ
ʹAṣḥaabun
(are the) companions
ٱلنَّارِۖ
Naari
(of) the Fire
هُمۡ
hum
they
فِيهَا
feehaa
in it
خَٰلِدُونَ
khaalidoon.
will abide forever
٢٥٧
2:258
أَلَمۡ
ʹAlam
Did not
تَرَ
tara
you see
إِلَى
ʹilal
[towards]
ٱلَّذِي
laẓee
the one who
حَآجَّ
ḥaaajja
argued
إِبۡرَٰهِـۧمَ
ʹIbraaheema
(with) Ibrahim
فِي
fee
concerning
رَبِّهِۦٓ
Rabbiheee
his Lord
أَنۡ
ʹan
because
ءَاتَىٰهُ
ʹaataahul
gave him
ٱللَّهُ
laahul
Allah
ٱلۡمُلۡكَ
mulk?
the kingdom
إِذۡ
ʹIẓ
When
قَالَ
q̣aala
Said
إِبۡرَٰهِـۧمُ
ʹIbraaheemu
Ibrahim
رَبِّيَ
Rabbiyal
My Lord
ٱلَّذِي
laẓee
(is) the One Who
يُحۡيِۦ
yuḥyee
grants life
وَيُمِيتُ
wa-yumeetu
and causes death
قَالَ
q̣aala
He said
أَنَا۠
ʹana
I
أُحۡيِۦ
ʹuḥyee
give life
وَأُمِيتُۖ
wa-ʹumeet.
and cause death
قَالَ
Q̣aala
Said
إِبۡرَٰهِـۧمُ
ʹIbraaheemu
Ibrahim
فَإِنَّ
faʹinnal
[Then] indeed
ٱللَّهَ
laha
Allah
يَأۡتِي
yaʹtee
brings up
بِٱلشَّمۡسِ
bish-Shamsi
the sun
مِنَ
minal
from
ٱلۡمَشۡرِقِ
Mashriq̣i
the east
فَأۡتِ
faʹti
so you bring
بِهَا
bihaa
it
مِنَ
minal
from
ٱلۡمَغۡرِبِ
Mag̣ribi
the west
فَبُهِتَ
Fabuhital
So became dumbfounded
ٱلَّذِي
laẓee
the one who
كَفَرَۗ
kafar.
disbelieved
وَٱللَّهُ
Wallaahu
and Allah
لَا
laa-
(does) not
يَهۡدِي
yahdil
guide
ٱلۡقَوۡمَ
q̣awmaz̤̣
the people
ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
z̤̣aalimeen.
(who are) [the] wrongdoers
٢٥٨
2:259
أَوۡ
ʹAw
Or
كَٱلَّذِي
kallaẓee
like the one who
مَرَّ
marra
passed
عَلَىٰ
ʻalaa
by
قَرۡيَةٖ
q̣aryatiñw
a township
وَهِيَ
wa hiya
and it
خَاوِيَةٌ
khaawiyatun
(had) overturned
عَلَىٰ
ʻalaa
on
عُرُوشِهَا
ʻurooshihaa.
its roofs
قَالَ
Q̣aala
He said
أَنَّىٰ
ʹannaa
How
يُحۡيِۦ
yuḥyee
(will) bring to life
هَٰذِهِ
haaẓihil
this (town)
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah
بَعۡدَ
baʻda
after
مَوۡتِهَاۖ
mawtihaa?
its death
فَأَمَاتَهُ
Faʹamaatahul
Then he was made to die
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
(by) Allah
مِاْئَةَ
miʹata
(for) a hundred
عَامٖ
ʻaamiñ
year(s)
ثُمَّ
s̤umma
then
بَعَثَهُۥۖ
baʻas̤ah.
He raised him
قَالَ
Q̣aala
He said
كَمۡ
kam
How long
لَبِثۡتَۖ
labis̤t?
(have) you remained
قَالَ
Q̣aala
He said
لَبِثۡتُ
Labis̤tu
I remained
يَوۡمًا
yawman
(for) a day
أَوۡ
ʹaw
or
بَعۡضَ
baʻḍa
a part
يَوۡمٖۖ
yawm.
(of) a day
قَالَ
Q̣aala
He said
بَل
bal
Nay
لَّبِثۡتَ
labis̤ta
you (have) remained
مِاْئَةَ
miʹata
one hundred
عَامٖ
ʻaamiñ
year(s)
فَٱنظُرۡ
fañz̤̣ur
Then look
إِلَىٰ
ʹilaa
at
طَعَامِكَ
ṭaʻaamika
your food
وَشَرَابِكَ
wa-sharaabika
and your drink
لَمۡ
lam
(they did) not
يَتَسَنَّهۡۖ
yatasannah.
change with time
وَٱنظُرۡ
Wañz̤̣ur
and look
إِلَىٰ
ʹilaa
at
حِمَارِكَ
ḥimaarik!
your donkey
وَلِنَجۡعَلَكَ
wa-linajʻalaka
and We will make you
ءَايَةٗ
ʹaayatal
a sign
لِّلنَّاسِۖ
linnaasi
for the people
وَٱنظُرۡ
wañz̤̣ur
And look
إِلَى
ʹilal
at
ٱلۡعِظَامِ
ʻiz̤̣aami
the bones
كَيۡفَ
kayfa
how
نُنشِزُهَا
nuñshizuhaa
We raise them
ثُمَّ
s̤umma
then
نَكۡسُوهَا
naksoohaa
We cover them
لَحۡمٗاۚ
laḥmaa.
(with) flesh
فَلَمَّا
Falammaa
Then when
تَبَيَّنَ
tabyyana
became clear
لَهُۥ
lahoo
to him
قَالَ
q̣aala
he said
أَعۡلَمُ
ʹaʻlamu
I know
أَنَّ
ʹannal
that
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
عَلَىٰ
ʻalaa
(is) on
كُلِّ
kulli
every
شَيۡءٖ
shayʹiñ
thing
قَدِيرٞ
Q̣adeer.
All-Powerful
٢٥٩

2:260
وَإِذۡ
Wa-ʹiẓ
And when
قَالَ
q̣aala
said
إِبۡرَٰهِـۧمُ
ʹIbraaheemu
Ibrahim
رَبِّ
Rabbi
My Lord
أَرِنِي
ʹarinee
show me
كَيۡفَ
kayfa
how
تُحۡيِ
tuḥyil
You give life
ٱلۡمَوۡتَىٰۖ
mawtaa.
(to) the dead
قَالَ
Q̣aala
He said
أَوَلَمۡ
ʹa-wa-lam
Have not
تُؤۡمِنۖ
tuʹmin?
you believed
قَالَ
Q̣aala
He said
بَلَىٰ
balaa
Yes
وَلَٰكِن
wa-laakil
[and] but
لِّيَطۡمَئِنَّ
liyaṭmaʹinna
to satisfy
قَلۡبِيۖ
q̣albee.
my heart
قَالَ
Q̣aala
He said
فَخُذۡ
fakhuẓ
Then take
أَرۡبَعَةٗ
ʹarbaʻatam
four
مِّنَ
minaṭ
of
ٱلطَّيۡرِ
ṭayri
the birds
فَصُرۡهُنَّ
fas̤urhunna
and incline them
إِلَيۡكَ
ʹilayka
towards you
ثُمَّ
s̤ummaj
then
ٱجۡعَلۡ
ʻal
put
عَلَىٰ
ʻalaaa
on
كُلِّ
kulli
each
جَبَلٖ
jabalim
hill
مِّنۡهُنَّ
minhunna
of them
جُزۡءٗا
juzʹañ
a portion
ثُمَّ
s̤ummad
then
ٱدۡعُهُنَّ
ʻuhunna
call them
يَأۡتِينَكَ
yaʹteenaka
they will come to you
سَعۡيٗاۚ
saʻyaa.
(in) haste
وَٱعۡلَمۡ
Waʻlam
And know
أَنَّ
ʹannal
that
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
عَزِيزٌ
ʻAzeezun
(is) All-Mighty
حَكِيمٞ
Ḥakeem.
All-Wise
٢٦٠
2:261
مَّثَلُ
Mas̤alul
Example
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
(of) those who
يُنفِقُونَ
yunñfiq̣oona
spend
أَمۡوَٰلَهُمۡ
ʹamwaalahum
their wealth
فِي
fee
in
سَبِيلِ
Sabeelil
(the) way
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
(of) Allah
كَمَثَلِ
kamas̤ali
(is) like
حَبَّةٍ
ḥabbatin
a grain
أَنۢبَتَتۡ
ʹambatat
which grows
سَبۡعَ
sabʻa
seven
سَنَابِلَ
sanaabila
ears
فِي
fee
in
كُلِّ
kulli
each
سُنۢبُلَةٖ
sumbulatim
ear
مِّاْئَةُ
miʹatu
hundred
حَبَّةٖۗ
ḥabbah.
grain(s)
وَٱللَّهُ
Wallaahu
And Allah
يُضَٰعِفُ
yuḍaaʻifu
gives manifold
لِمَن
limany
to whom
يَشَآءُۚ
yashaaaʹ.
He wills
وَٱللَّهُ
Wallaahu
And Allah
وَٰسِعٌ
Waasiʻun
(is) All-Encompassing
عَلِيمٌ
ʻAleem.
All-Knowing
٢٦١
2:262
ٱلَّذِينَ
ʹAllaẓeena
Those who
يُنفِقُونَ
yuñfiq̣oona
spend
أَمۡوَٰلَهُمۡ
ʹamwaalahum
their wealth
فِي
fee
in
سَبِيلِ
Sabeelil
(the) way
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
(of) Allah
ثُمَّ
s̤umma
then
لَا
laa-
not
يُتۡبِعُونَ
yutbiʻoona
they follow
مَآ
maaa
what
أَنفَقُواْ
ʹañfaq̣oo
they spend
مَنّٗا
mannañw
(with) reminders of generosity
وَلَآ
walaaa
and not
أَذٗى
ʹaẓal
hurt
لَّهُمۡ
lahum
for them
أَجۡرُهُمۡ
ʹajruhum
their reward
عِندَ
ʻiñda
(is) with
رَبِّهِمۡ
Rabbihim;
their Lord
وَلَا
wa-laa
and (there will be) no
خَوۡفٌ
khawfun
fear
عَلَيۡهِمۡ
ʻalayhim
on them
وَلَا
wa-laa
and not
هُمۡ
hum
they
يَحۡزَنُونَ
yaḥzanoon.
will grieve
٢٦٢
2:263
۞قَوۡلٞ
Q̣awlum
A word
مَّعۡرُوفٞ
maʻroofuñw
kind
وَمَغۡفِرَةٌ
wamag̣firatun
and (seeking) forgiveness
خَيۡرٞ
khayrum
(are) better
مِّن
miñ
than
صَدَقَةٖ
ṣadaq̣atiñ
a charity
يَتۡبَعُهَآ
yatbaʻuhaaa
followed [it]
أَذٗىۗ
ʹaẓaa.
(by) hurt
وَٱللَّهُ
Wallaahu
And Allah
غَنِيٌّ
G̣aniyyun
(is) All-Sufficient
حَلِيمٞ
Ḥaleem.
All-Forbearing
٢٦٣
2:264
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
Yaaaʹayyuhal
O you
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
who
ءَامَنُواْ
aamanoo
believe[d]
لَا
laa-
(Do) not
تُبۡطِلُواْ
tubṭiloo
render in vain
صَدَقَٰتِكُم
ṣadaq̣aatikum̃
your charities
بِٱلۡمَنِّ
bilmanni
with reminders (of it)
وَٱلۡأَذَىٰ
wal-ʹaẓaa
or [the] hurt
كَٱلَّذِي
kallaẓee
like the one who
يُنفِقُ
yuñfiq̣u
spends
مَالَهُۥ
maa-lahoo
his wealth
رِئَآءَ
riʹaaaʹan
(to) be seen
ٱلنَّاسِ
naasi
(by) the people
وَلَا
wa-laa
and (does) not
يُؤۡمِنُ
yuʹminu
believe
بِٱللَّهِ
billaahi
in Allah
وَٱلۡيَوۡمِ
wal-Yawmil
and the Day
ٱلۡأٓخِرِۖ
ʹAakhir.
[the] Last
فَمَثَلُهُۥ
Famas̤aluhoo
Then his example
كَمَثَلِ
kamas̤ali
(is) like
صَفۡوَانٍ
ṣafwaanin
(that of a) smooth rock
عَلَيۡهِ
ʻalayhi
upon it
تُرَابٞ
turaabuñ
(is) dust
فَأَصَابَهُۥ
faʹaṣaabahoo
then fell on it
وَابِلٞ
waabiluñ
heavy rain
فَتَرَكَهُۥ
fatarakahoo
then left it
صَلۡدٗاۖ
ṣaldaa.
bare
لَّا
Laa-
Not
يَقۡدِرُونَ
yaq̣diroona
they have control
عَلَىٰ
ʻalaa
on
شَيۡءٖ
shayʹim
anything
مِّمَّا
mimmaa
of what
كَسَبُواْۗ

ٱلۡقَوۡمَ

the people
ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ
kaafireen.

2:265
وَمَثَلُ
Wa-mas̤alul
And (the) example
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
(of) those who
يُنفِقُونَ
yuñfiq̣oonaʹ
spend
أَمۡوَٰلَهُمُ
amwaalahu
their wealth
ٱبۡتِغَآءَ
mubtig̣aaaʹa
seeking
مَرۡضَاتِ
marḍaatil
(the) pleasure
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
(of) Allah
وَتَثۡبِيتٗا
wa-tas̤beetam
and certainty
مِّنۡ
min
from
أَنفُسِهِمۡ
ʹañfusihim
their (inner) souls
كَمَثَلِ
kamas̤ali
(is) like
جَنَّةِۭ
jannatim
a garden
بِرَبۡوَةٍ
birabwatin
on a height
أَصَابَهَا
ʹaṣaabahaa
fell on it
وَابِلٞ
waabiluñ
heavy rain
فَـَٔاتَتۡ
faʹaatat
so it yielded
أُكُلَهَا
ʹukulahaa
its harvest
ضِعۡفَيۡنِ
ḍiʻfayn.
double
فَإِن
Faʹil
Then if
لَّمۡ
lam
(does) not
يُصِبۡهَا
yuṣibhaa
fall (on) it
وَابِلٞ
waabiluñ
heavy rain
فَطَلّٞۗ
faṭall .
then a drizzle
وَٱللَّهُ
Wallaahu
And Allah
بِمَا
bimaa
of what
تَعۡمَلُونَ
taʻmaloona
you do
بَصِيرٌ
Baṣeer.
(is) All-Seer
٢٦٥
2:266
أَيَوَدُّ
ʹAyawaddu
Would like
أَحَدُكُمۡ
ʹaḥadukum
any of you
أَن
ʹañ
that
تَكُونَ
takoona
it be
لَهُۥ
lahoo
for him
جَنَّةٞ
jannatum
a garden
مِّن
min
of
نَّخِيلٖ
nakheeliñw
date-palms
وَأَعۡنَابٖ
waʹaʻnaabiñ
and grapevines
تَجۡرِي
tajree
flowing
مِن
miñ
[from]
تَحۡتِهَا
taḥtihal
underneath it
ٱلۡأَنۡهَٰرُ
ʹanhaaru
the rivers
لَهُۥ
lahoo
for him
فِيهَا
feehaa
in it
مِن
miñ
of
كُلِّ
kullis̤
all (kinds)
ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ
s̤amaraati
(of) [the] fruits
وَأَصَابَهُ
wa-ʹaṣaa-bahul
and strikes him
ٱلۡكِبَرُ
kibaru
[the] old age
وَلَهُۥ
wa-lahoo
and [for] his
ذُرِّيَّةٞ
ẓurriyyatuñ
children
ضُعَفَآءُ
ḍuʻafaaaʹu
(are) weak
فَأَصَابَهَآ
faʹaṣaabahaaa
then falls on it
إِعۡصَارٞ
ʹiʻṣaaruñ
whirlwind
فِيهِ
feehi
in it
نَارٞ
naaruñ
(is) fire
فَٱحۡتَرَقَتۡۗ
faḥtaraq̣at?
then it is burnt
كَذَٰلِكَ
Kaẓaalika
Thus
يُبَيِّنُ
yubayyinul
makes clear
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah
لَكُمُ
lakumul
for you
ٱلۡأٓيَٰتِ
ʹaayaati
(His) Signs
لَعَلَّكُمۡ
laʻallakum
so that you may
تَتَفَكَّرُونَ
tatafakkaroon.

2:267
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
Yaaaʹayyuhal
O you
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
who
ءَامَنُوٓاْ
ʹaamanooo
believe[d]
أَنفِقُواْ
ʹañfiq̣oo
Spend
مِن
miñ
from
طَيِّبَٰتِ
ṭayyibaati
(the) good things
مَا
maa-
that
كَسَبۡتُمۡ
kasabtum
you have earned
وَمِمَّآ
wa-mimmaaa
and whatever
أَخۡرَجۡنَا
ʹakhrajnaa
We brought forth
لَكُم
lakum
for you
مِّنَ
minal
from
ٱلۡأَرۡضِۖ
ʹarḍ.
the earth
وَلَا
Wa-laa
And (do) not
تَيَمَّمُواْ
tayammamul
aim (at)
ٱلۡخَبِيثَ
khabees̤a
the bad
مِنۡهُ
minhu
of it
تُنفِقُونَ
tuñfiq̣oona
you spend
وَلَسۡتُم
wa-lastum̃
while you (would) not
بِـَٔاخِذِيهِ
biʹaakhiẓeehi
take it
إِلَّآ
ʹillaaa
except
أَن
ʹañ
[that]
تُغۡمِضُواْ
tug̣miḍoo
(with) close(d) eyes
فِيهِۚ
feeh.
[in it]
وَٱعۡلَمُوٓاْ
Waʻlamooo
and know
أَنَّ
ʹannal
that
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
غَنِيٌّ
G̣aniyyun
(is) Self-Sufficient
حَمِيدٌ
Ḥameed.
Praiseworthy
٢٦٧
2:268
ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنُ
ʹAsh-Shayṭaanu
The Shaitaan
يَعِدُكُمُ
yaʻidukumul
promises you
ٱلۡفَقۡرَ
faq̣ra
[the] poverty
وَيَأۡمُرُكُم
wa-yaʹmurukum̃
and orders you
بِٱلۡفَحۡشَآءِۖ
bil-faḥshaaaʹ.
to immorality
وَٱللَّهُ
Wallaahu
while Allah
يَعِدُكُم
yaʻidukum
promises you
مَّغۡفِرَةٗ
mag̣firatam
forgiveness
مِّنۡهُ
minhu
from Him
وَفَضۡلٗاۗ
wa-faḍlaa.
and bounty
وَٱللَّهُ
Wallaahu
And Allah
وَٰسِعٌ
Waasiʻun
(is) All-Encompassing
عَلِيمٞ
ʻAleem.
All-Knowing
٢٦٨
2:269
يُؤۡتِي
Yuʻtil
He grants
ٱلۡحِكۡمَةَ
Ḥikmata
[the] wisdom
مَن
mañy
(to) whom
يَشَآءُۚ
yashaaaʹ:
He wills
وَمَن
Wa-mañy
and whoever
يُؤۡتَ
yuʹtal
is granted
ٱلۡحِكۡمَةَ
Ḥikmata
[the] wisdom
فَقَدۡ
faq̣ad
then certainly
أُوتِيَ
ʹootiya
he is granted
خَيۡرٗا
khayrañ
good
كَثِيرٗاۗ
kas̤eeraa.
abundant
وَمَا
Wa-maa
And none
يَذَّكَّرُ
yaẓẓakkaru
remembers
إِلَّآ
ʹillaaa
except
أُوْلُواْ
ʹulul
those
ٱلۡأَلۡبَٰبِ
ʹalbaab.
(of) understanding
٢٦٩

2:270
وَمَآ
Wa-maaa
And whatever
أَنفَقۡتُم
ʹañfaq̣tum
you spend
مِّن
min
(out) of
نَّفَقَةٍ
nafaq̣atin
(your) expenditures
أَوۡ
ʹaw
or
نَذَرۡتُم
naẓartum
you vow
مِّن
min
of
نَّذۡرٖ
naẓriñ
vow(s)
فَإِنَّ
faʹinnal
then indeed
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
يَعۡلَمُهُۥۗ
yaʻlamuh.
knows it
وَمَا
Wa-maa
and not
لِلظَّٰلِمِينَ
liz̤̣z̤̣aalimeena
for the wrongdoers
مِنۡ
min
any
أَنصَارٍ
ʹañṣaar.
helpers
٢٧٠
2:271
إِن
ʹIñ
If
تُبۡدُواْ
tubduṣ
you disclose
ٱلصَّدَقَٰتِ
Ṣadaq̣aati
the charities
فَنِعِمَّا
faniʻimmaa
then good
هِيَۖ
hee;
it (is)
وَإِن
Wa-ʹiñ
But if
تُخۡفُوهَا
tukhfoohaa
you keep it secret
وَتُؤۡتُوهَا
wa-tuʹtoohal
and give it
ٱلۡفُقَرَآءَ
fuq̣araaaʹa
(to) the poor
فَهُوَ
fahuwa
then it
خَيۡرٞ
khayrul
(is) better
لَّكُمۡۚ
lakum:
for you
وَيُكَفِّرُ
wa-yukaffiru
And He will remove
عَنكُم
ʻankum
from you
مِّن
miñ
[of]
سَيِّـَٔاتِكُمۡۗ
sayyiʹaatikum.
your evil deeds
وَٱللَّهُ
Wallaahu
And Allah
بِمَا
bimaa
with what
تَعۡمَلُونَ
taʻmaloona
you do
خَبِيرٞ
Khabeer.
(is) All-Aware
٢٧١
2:272
۞لَّيۡسَ
Laysa
Not
عَلَيۡكَ
ʻalayka
on you
هُدَىٰهُمۡ
hudaahum
(is) their guidance
وَلَٰكِنَّ
wa-laakinnal
[and] but
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
يَهۡدِي
yahdee
guides
مَن
mañy
whom
يَشَآءُۗ
yashaaaʹ.
He wills
وَمَا
Wa-maa
And whatever
تُنفِقُواْ
tuñfiq̣oo
you spend
مِنۡ
min
of
خَيۡرٖ
khayriñ
good
فَلِأَنفُسِكُمۡۚ
faliʹañfusikum:
then it is for yourself
وَمَا
wa-maa
and not
تُنفِقُونَ
tuñfiq̣oona
you spend
إِلَّا
ʹillab
except
ٱبۡتِغَآءَ
tig̣aaaʹa
seeking
وَجۡهِ
Wajhil
(the) face
ٱللَّهِۚ
laah.
(of) Allah
وَمَا
Wa-maa
And whatever
تُنفِقُواْ
tuñfiq̣oo
you spend
مِنۡ
min
of
خَيۡرٖ
khayriñy
good
يُوَفَّ
yuwaffa
will be repaid in full
إِلَيۡكُمۡ
ʹilaykum
to you
وَأَنتُمۡ
waʹañtum
and you
لَا
laa-
(will) not
تُظۡلَمُونَ
tuz̤̣lamoon.
be wronged
٢٧٢
2:273
لِلۡفُقَرَآءِ
Lil-fuq̣araaaʹil
For the poor
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those who
أُحۡصِرُواْ
ʹuḥṣiroo
are wrapped up
فِي
fee
in
سَبِيلِ
Sabeeli
(the) way
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
(of) Allah
لَا
laa-
not
يَسۡتَطِيعُونَ
yastaṭeeʻoona
they are able
ضَرۡبٗا
ḍarbañ
(to) move about
فِي
fil
in
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ
ʹarḍiyaḥ
the earth
يَحۡسَبُهُمُ
sabuhumul
Think (about) them
ٱلۡجَاهِلُ
jaahilu
the ignorant one
أَغۡنِيَآءَ
ʹag̣niyaaaʹa
(that they are) self-sufficient
مِنَ
minat
(because) of
ٱلتَّعَفُّفِ
taʻaffuf.
(their) restraint
تَعۡرِفُهُم
Taʻrifuhum̃
you recognize them
بِسِيمَٰهُمۡ
biseemaahum
by their mark
لَا
laa-
Not
يَسۡـَٔلُونَ
yasʹaloonan
(do) they ask
ٱلنَّاسَ
naasa
the people
إِلۡحَافٗاۗ
ʹilḥaafaa.
with importunity
وَمَا
Wa-maa
And whatever
تُنفِقُواْ
tuñfiq̣oo
you spend
مِنۡ
min
of
خَيۡرٖ
khayriñ
good
فَإِنَّ
faʹinnal
then indeed
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
بِهِۦ
bihee
of it
عَلِيمٌ
ʻAleem.
(is) All-Knower
٢٧٣
2:274
ٱلَّذِينَ
ʹAllaẓeena
Those who
يُنفِقُونَ
yuñfiq̣oona
spend
أَمۡوَٰلَهُم
ʹamwaalahum̃
their wealth
بِٱلَّيۡلِ
billayli
by night
وَٱلنَّهَارِ
wan-nahaari
and day
سِرّٗا
sirrañw
secretly
وَعَلَانِيَةٗ
waʻalaaniyatañ
and openly
فَلَهُمۡ
falahum
then for them
أَجۡرُهُمۡ
ʹajruhum
(is) their reward
عِندَ
ʻiñda
with
رَبِّهِمۡ
Rabbihim:
their Lord
وَلَا
wa-laa
and no
خَوۡفٌ
khawfun
fear
عَلَيۡهِمۡ
ʻalayhim
on them
وَلَا
wa-laa
and not
هُمۡ
hum
they
يَحۡزَنُونَ
yaḥzanoon.
will grieve

ٱلَّذِينَ
ʹAllaẓeena
Those who
يَأۡكُلُونَ
yaʹkuloonar
consume
ٱلرِّبَوٰاْ
Ribaa
[the] usury
لَا
laa-
not
يَقُومُونَ
yaq̣oomoona
they can stand
إِلَّا
ʹillaa
except
كَمَا
kamaa
like
يَقُومُ
yaq̣oomul
stands
ٱلَّذِي
laẓee
the one who
يَتَخَبَّطُهُ
yatakhabbaṭuhush
confounds him
ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنُ
Shayṭanu
the Shaitaan
مِنَ
minal
with
ٱلۡمَسِّۚ
mass.
(his) touch
ذَٰلِكَ
Ẓaalika
That
بِأَنَّهُمۡ
biʹannahum
(is) because they
قَالُوٓاْ
q̣alooo
say
إِنَّمَا
ʹinnamal
Only
ٱلۡبَيۡعُ
Bayʻu
the trade
مِثۡلُ
mis̤lur
(is) like
ٱلرِّبَوٰاْۗ
Riba.
[the] usury
وَأَحَلَّ
Wa-ʹaḥallal
While has permitted
ٱللَّهُ
laahul
Allah
ٱلۡبَيۡعَ
Bayʻa
[the] trade
وَحَرَّمَ
waḥarramar
but (has) forbidden
ٱلرِّبَوٰاْۚ
Riba.
[the] usury
فَمَن
Famañ
Then whoever
جَآءَهُۥ
jaaaʹahoo
comes to him
مَوۡعِظَةٞ
mawʻiz̤̣atum
(the) admonition
مِّن
mir
from
رَّبِّهِۦ
Rabbihee
His Lord
فَٱنتَهَىٰ
fañtahaa
and he refrained
فَلَهُۥ
falahoo
then for him
مَا
maa-
what
سَلَفَ
salaf:
(has) passed
وَأَمۡرُهُۥٓ
wa-ʹamruhooo
and his case
إِلَى
ʹilal
(is) with
ٱللَّهِۖ
laah.
Allah
وَمَنۡ
Wa-man
and whoever
عَادَ
ʻaada
repeated
فَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ
faʹulaaaʹika
then those
أَصۡحَٰبُ
ʹAṣḥaabun
(are the) companions
ٱلنَّارِۖ
Naar:
(of) the Fire
هُمۡ
hum
they
فِيهَا
feehaa
in it
خَٰلِدُونَ
khaalidoon.
will abide forever
