and the earth
أَبۡصِرۡ
ʹabṣir
How clearly He sees
بِهِۦ
bihee
[of it]
وَأَسۡمِعۡۚ
waʹasmiʻ!
And how clearly He hears
مَا
Maa-
Not
لَهُم
lahum
for them
مِّن
miñ
besides Him
دُونِهِۦ
doonihee
besides Him
مِن
miñw
any
وَلِيّٖ
waliyy;
protector
وَلَا
wa-laa
and not
يُشۡرِكُ
yushriku
He shares
فِي
fee
[in]
حُكۡمِهِۦٓ
Ḥukmiheee
His Commands
أَحَدٗا
ʹaḥadaa.
(with) anyone

18:27
وَٱتۡلُ
Watlu
And recite
مَآ
maaa
what
أُوحِيَ
ʹooḥiya
has been revealed
إِلَيۡكَ
ʹilayka
to you
مِن
miñ
of
كِتَابِ
Kitaabi
the Book
رَبِّكَۖ
Rabbik:
(of) your Lord
لَا
laa-
None
مُبَدِّلَ
mubaddila
can change
لِكَلِمَٰتِهِۦ
li-Kalimaatih:
His Words
وَلَن
wa-lañ
and never
تَجِدَ
tajida
you will find
مِن
miñ
besides Him
دُونِهِۦ
doonihee
besides Him
مُلۡتَحَدٗا
multaḥadaa.
a refuge

وَٱصۡبِرۡ
Waṣbir
And be patient
نَفۡسَكَ
nafsaka
yourself
مَعَ
maʻal
with
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those who
يَدۡعُونَ
yadʻoona
call
رَبَّهُم
Rabbahum̃
their Lord
بِٱلۡغَدَوٰةِ
bilg̣adaati
in the morning
وَٱلۡعَشِيِّ
walʻashiyyi
and the evening
يُرِيدُونَ
yureedoona
desiring
وَجۡهَهُۥۖ
Wajhahoo
His Face
وَلَا
wa-laa
And (let) not
تَعۡدُ
taʻdu
pass beyond
عَيۡنَاكَ
ʻaynaaka
your eyes
عَنۡهُمۡ
ʻanhum:
over them
تُرِيدُ
tureedu
desiring
زِينَةَ
zeenatal
adornment
ٱلۡحَيَوٰةِ
Ḥayaatid
(of) the life
ٱلدُّنۡيَاۖ
dunyaa;
(of) the world
وَلَا
wa-laa
and (do) not
تُطِعۡ
tuṭiʻ
obey
مَنۡ
man
whom
أَغۡفَلۡنَا
ʹag̣falnaa
We have made heedless
قَلۡبَهُۥ
q̣albahoo
his heart
عَن
ʻañ
of
ذِكۡرِنَا
ẓikrinaa
Our remembrance
وَٱتَّبَعَ
wattabaʻa
and follows
هَوَىٰهُ
hawaahu
his desires
وَكَانَ
wa-kaana
and is
أَمۡرُهُۥ
ʹamruhoo
his affair
فُرُطٗا
furuṭaa.
(in) excess
٢٨
18:29
وَقُلِ
Wa-q̣ulil
And say
ٱلۡحَقُّ
Ḥaq̣q̣u
The truth
مِن
mir
(is) from
رَّبِّكُمۡۖ
Rabbikum:
your Lord
فَمَن
famañ
so whoever
شَآءَ
shaaaʹa
wills
فَلۡيُؤۡمِن
falyuʹmiñw
let him believe
وَمَن
wamañ
and whoever
شَآءَ
shaaaʹa
wills
فَلۡيَكۡفُرۡۚ
falyakfur:
let him disbelieve
إِنَّآ
ʹinnaaa
Indeed We
أَعۡتَدۡنَا
ʹaʻtadnaa
have prepared
لِلظَّٰلِمِينَ
liz̤̣z̤̣aalimeena
for the wrongdoers
نَارًا
Naaran
a Fire
أَحَاطَ
ʹaḥaaṭa
will surround
بِهِمۡ
bihim
them
سُرَادِقُهَاۚ
suraadiq̣uhaa:
its walls
وَإِن
wa-ʹiñy
And if
يَسۡتَغِيثُواْ
yastag̣ees̤oo
they call for relief
يُغَاثُواْ
yug̣aas̤oo
they will be relieved
بِمَآءٖ
bimaaaʹiñ
with water
كَٱلۡمُهۡلِ
kalmuhli
like molten brass
يَشۡوِي
yashwil
(which) scalds
ٱلۡوُجُوهَۚ
wujooh.
the faces
بِئۡسَ
Biʹsash
Wretched
ٱلشَّرَابُ
sharaab!
(is) the drink
وَسَآءَتۡ
wa-saaaʹat
and evil
مُرۡتَفَقًا
murtafaq̣aa!
(is) the resting place
٢٩
18:30
إِنَّ
ʹInnal
Indeed
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those who
ءَامَنُواْ
ʹaamanoo
believed
وَعَمِلُواْ
wa-ʻamiluṣ
and did
ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ
ṣaaliḥaati
the good deeds
إِنَّا
ʹinnaa
indeed We
لَا
laa-
will not let go waste
نُضِيعُ
nuḍeeʻu
will not let go waste
أَجۡرَ
ʹajra
(the) reward
مَنۡ
man
(of one) who
أَحۡسَنَ
ʹaḥsana
does good
عَمَلًا
ʻamalaa.
deeds
٣٠
18:31
أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ
ʹUlaaaʹika
Those
لَهُمۡ
lahum
for them
جَنَّٰتُ
Jannaatu
(are) Gardens
عَدۡنٖ
ʻAdniñ
of Eden
تَجۡرِي
tajree
flows
مِن
miñ
from
تَحۡتِهِمُ
taḥtihimul
underneath them
ٱلۡأَنۡهَٰرُ
ʹanhaaru
the rivers
يُحَلَّوۡنَ
yuḥallawna
They will be adorned
فِيهَا
feehaa
therein
مِنۡ
min
[of] (with)
أَسَاوِرَ
ʹasaawira
bracelets
مِن
miñ
of
ذَهَبٖ
ẓahabiñw
gold
وَيَلۡبَسُونَ
wayalbasoona
and will wear
ثِيَابًا
s̤iyaaban
garments
خُضۡرٗا
khuḍram
green
مِّن
miñ
of
سُندُسٖ
suñdusiñw
fine silk
وَإِسۡتَبۡرَقٖ
waʹistabraq̣im
and heavy brocade
مُّتَّكِـِٔينَ
muttakiʹeena
reclining
فِيهَا
feehaa
therein
عَلَى
ʻalal
on
ٱلۡأَرَآئِكِۚ
ʹaraaaʹik.
adorned couches
نِعۡمَ
Niʻmas̤
Excellent
ٱلثَّوَابُ
s̤awaab!
(is) the reward
وَحَسُنَتۡ
Waḥasunat
and good
مُرۡتَفَقٗا
murtafaq̣aa!
(is) the resting place
٣١
18:32
۞وَٱضۡرِبۡ
Waḍrib
And set forth
لَهُم
lahum
to them
مَّثَلٗا
mas̤alar
the example
رَّجُلَيۡنِ
rajulayni
of two men:
جَعَلۡنَا
jaʻalnaa
We provided
لِأَحَدِهِمَا
liʹaḥadihimaa
for one of them
جَنَّتَيۡنِ
jannatayni
two gardens
مِنۡ
min
of
أَعۡنَٰبٖ
ʹaʻnaabiñw
grapes
وَحَفَفۡنَٰهُمَا
Waḥafafnaahumaa
and We bordered them
بِنَخۡلٖ
binakhliñw
with date-palms
وَجَعَلۡنَا
wajaʻalnaa
and We placed
بَيۡنَهُمَا
baynahumaa
between both of them
زَرۡعٗا
zarʻaa.
crops

18:33
كِلۡتَا
Kiltal
Each
ٱلۡجَنَّتَيۡنِ
jannatayni
(of) the two gardens
ءَاتَتۡ
ʹaatat
brought forth
أُكُلَهَا
ʹukulahaa
its produce
وَلَمۡ
wa-lam
and not
تَظۡلِم
taz̤̣lim
did wrong
مِّنۡهُ
minhu
of it
شَيۡـٔٗاۚ
shayʹañw
anything
وَفَجَّرۡنَا
wafajjarnaa
And We caused to gush forth
خِلَٰلَهُمَا
khi-laalahumaa
within them
نَهَرٗا
naharaa,
a river
٣٣
18:34
وَكَانَ
Wa-kaana
And was
لَهُۥ
lahoo
for him
ثَمَرٞ
s̤amar:
fruit
فَقَالَ
faq̣aala
so he said
لِصَٰحِبِهِۦ
liṣaaḥibihee
to his companion
وَهُوَ
wa-huwa
while he
يُحَاوِرُهُۥٓ
yuḥaawiruhooo
(was) talking with him
أَنَا۠
ʹana
I am
أَكۡثَرُ
ʹaks̤aru
greater
مِنكَ
miñka
than you
مَالٗا
maalañw
(in) wealth
وَأَعَزُّ
waʹaʻazzu
and stronger
نَفَرٗا
nafaraa.
(in) men

وَدَخَلَ
Wa-dakhala
And he entered
جَنَّتَهُۥ
jannatahoo
his garden
وَهُوَ
wa-huwa
while he
ظَالِمٞ
z̤̣aalimul
(was) unjust
لِّنَفۡسِهِۦ
linafsih:
to himself
قَالَ
q̣aala
He said
مَآ
maaa
Not
أَظُنُّ
ʹaz̤̣unnu
I think
أَن
ʹañ
that
تَبِيدَ
tabeeda
will perish
هَٰذِهِۦٓ
haaẓiheee
this
أَبَدٗا
ʹabadaa.
ever
٣٥
18:36
وَمَآ
Wa-maaa
And not
أَظُنُّ
ʹaz̤̣unnus
I think
ٱلسَّاعَةَ
saaʻata
the Hour
قَآئِمَةٗ
q̣aaaʹimatañw
will occur
وَلَئِن
walaʹir
And if
رُّدِدتُّ
rudittu
I am brought back
إِلَىٰ
ʹilaa
to
رَبِّي
Rabbee
my Lord
لَأَجِدَنَّ
laʹajidanna
I will surely find
خَيۡرٗا
khayram
better
مِّنۡهَا
minhaa
than this
مُنقَلَبٗا
muñq̣alabaa.
(as) a return
٣٦
18:37
قَالَ
Q̣aala
Said
لَهُۥ
lahoo
to him
صَاحِبُهُۥ
ṣaaḥibuhoo
his companion
وَهُوَ
wa-huwa
while he
يُحَاوِرُهُۥٓ
yuḥaawiruhooo
was talking to him
أَكَفَرۡتَ
ʹakafarta
Do you disbelieve
بِٱلَّذِي
billaẓee
in One Who
خَلَقَكَ
khalaq̣aka
created you
مِن
miñ
from
تُرَابٖ
turaabiñ
dust
ثُمَّ
s̤umma
then
مِن
min
from
نُّطۡفَةٖ
nuṭfatiñ
a minute quantity of semen
ثُمَّ
s̤umma
then
سَوَّىٰكَ
sawwaaka
fashioned you
رَجُلٗا
rajulaa?
(into) a man
٣٧
18:38
لَّٰكِنَّا۠
Laakinna
But as for me
هُوَ
Huwal
He
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
(is) Allah
رَبِّي
Rabbee
my Lord
وَلَآ
wa-laaa
and not
أُشۡرِكُ
ʹushriku
I associate
بِرَبِّيٓ
bi-Rabbeee
with my Lord
أَحَدٗا
ʹaḥadaa.
anyone
٣٨
18:39
وَلَوۡلَآ
Wa-lawlaaa
And why (did you) not
إِذۡ
ʹiẓ
when
دَخَلۡتَ
dakhalta
you entered
جَنَّتَكَ
jannataka
your garden
قُلۡتَ
q̣ulta
say
مَا
maa-
What
شَآءَ
shaaaʹal
wills
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah
لَا
Laa-
(there is) no
قُوَّةَ
q̣uwwata
power
إِلَّا
ʹillaa
except
بِٱللَّهِۚ
billaah!
with Allah
إِن
ʹIñ
If
تَرَنِ
tarani
you see me
أَنَا۠
ʹana
(me)
أَقَلَّ
ʹaq̣alla
lesser
مِنكَ
miñka
than you
مَالٗا
maalañw
(in) wealth
وَوَلَدٗا
wawaladaa.
and children
٣٩
18:40
فَعَسَىٰ
Faʻasaa
It may be
رَبِّيٓ
Rabbeee
that my Lord
أَن
ʹañy
that my Lord
يُؤۡتِيَنِ
yuʹtiyani
will give me
خَيۡرٗا
khayram
better
مِّن
miñ
than
جَنَّتِكَ
jannatika
your garden
وَيُرۡسِلَ
wa-yursila
and will send
عَلَيۡهَا
ʻalayhaa
upon it
حُسۡبَانٗا
ḥusbaanam
a calamity
مِّنَ
minas
from
ٱلسَّمَآءِ
samaaaʹi
the sky
فَتُصۡبِحَ
fatuṣbiḥa
then it will become
صَعِيدٗا
ṣaʻeedañ
ground
زَلَقًا
zalaq̣aa!―
slippery
٤٠
18:41
أَوۡ
ʹAw
Or
يُصۡبِحَ
yuṣbiḥa
will become
مَآؤُهَا
maaaʹuhaa
its water
غَوۡرٗا
g̣awrañ
sunken
فَلَن
falañ
so never
تَسۡتَطِيعَ
tastaṭeeʻa
you will be able
لَهُۥ
lahoo
to find it
طَلَبٗا
ṭalabaa.
to find it
٤١
18:42
وَأُحِيطَ
Wa-ʹuḥeeṭa
And were surrounded
بِثَمَرِهِۦ
bis̤amarihee
his fruits
فَأَصۡبَحَ
faʹaṣbaḥa
so he began
يُقَلِّبُ
yuq̣allibu
twisting
كَفَّيۡهِ
kaffayhi
his hands
عَلَىٰ
ʻalaa
over
مَآ
maaa
what
أَنفَقَ
ʹañfaq̣a
he (had) spent
فِيهَا
feehaa
on it
وَهِيَ
wa-hiya
while it (had)
خَاوِيَةٌ
khaawiyatun
collapsed
عَلَىٰ
ʻalaa
on
عُرُوشِهَا
ʻurooshihaa
its trellises
وَيَقُولُ
wa-yaq̣oolu
and he said
يَٰلَيۡتَنِي
yaalaytanee
Oh! I wish
لَمۡ
lam
I had not associated
أُشۡرِكۡ
ʹushrik
I had not associated
بِرَبِّيٓ
bi-Rabbeee
with my Lord
أَحَدٗا
ʹaḥadaa!
anyone
٤٢
18:43
وَلَمۡ
Wa-lam
And not
تَكُن
takul
was
لَّهُۥ
lahoo
for him
فِئَةٞ
fiʹatuñy
a group
يَنصُرُونَهُۥ
yañṣuroonahoo
(to) help him
مِن
miñ
other than
دُونِ
doonil
other than
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
Allah
وَمَا
wa-maa
and not
كَانَ
kaana
was
مُنتَصِرًا
muñtaṣiraa.
(he) supported
٤٣
18:44
هُنَالِكَ
Hunaalikal
There
ٱلۡوَلَٰيَةُ
walaayatu
the protection
لِلَّهِ
lillaahil
(is) from Allah
ٱلۡحَقِّۚ
Ḥaq̣q̣.
the True
هُوَ
Huwa
He
خَيۡرٞ
Khayrun
(is the) best
ثَوَابٗا
s̤awaabañw
(to) reward
وَخَيۡرٌ
wa-Khayruñ
and (the) best
عُقۡبٗا
ʻuq̣baa.
(for) the final end
٤٤
18:45
وَٱضۡرِبۡ
Waḍrib
And present
لَهُم
lahum
to them
مَّثَلَ
mas̤alal
the example
ٱلۡحَيَوٰةِ
ḥayaatid
(of) the life
ٱلدُّنۡيَا
dunyaa
(of) the world
كَمَآءٍ
kamaaaʹin
like water
أَنزَلۡنَٰهُ
ʹañzalnaahu
which We send down
مِنَ
minas
from
ٱلسَّمَآءِ
samaaaʹi
the sky
فَٱخۡتَلَطَ
fakhtalaṭa
then mingles
بِهِۦ
bihee
with it
نَبَاتُ
nabaatul
(the) vegetation
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ
ʹarḍi
(of) the earth
فَأَصۡبَحَ
faʹaṣbaḥa
then becomes
هَشِيمٗا
hasheemañ
dry stalks
تَذۡرُوهُ
taẓroohur
it (is) scattered
ٱلرِّيَٰحُۗ
riyaaḥ:
(by) the winds
وَكَانَ
wa-kaanal
And Allah
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
And Allah
عَلَىٰ
ʻalaa
over
كُلِّ
kulli
every
شَيۡءٖ
shayʹim
thing
مُّقۡتَدِرًا
Muq̣tadiraa.
(is) All Able
٤٥

ٱلۡمَالُ
ʹAlmaalu
The wealth
وَٱلۡبَنُونَ
walbanoona
and children
زِينَةُ
zeenatul
(are) adornment
ٱلۡحَيَوٰةِ
ḥayaatid
(of) the life
ٱلدُّنۡيَاۖ
dunyaa:
(of) the world
وَٱلۡبَٰقِيَٰتُ
wal-baaq̣iyaatuṣ
But the enduring
ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتُ
ṣaaliḥaatu
good deeds
خَيۡرٌ
khayrun
(are) better
عِندَ
ʻiñda
near
رَبِّكَ
Rabbika
your Lord
ثَوَابٗا
s̤awaabañw
(for) reward
وَخَيۡرٌ
wakhayrun
and better
أَمَلٗا
ʹamalaa.
(for) hope
٤٦
18:47
وَيَوۡمَ
Wa-yawma
And the Day
نُسَيِّرُ
nusayyirul
We will cause (to) move
ٱلۡجِبَالَ
jibaala
the mountains
وَتَرَى
wa-taral
and you will see
ٱلۡأَرۡضَ
ʹarḍa
the earth
بَارِزَةٗ
baarizatañw
(as) a leveled plain
وَحَشَرۡنَٰهُمۡ
waḥasharnaahum
and We will gather them
فَلَمۡ
falam
and not
نُغَادِرۡ
nug̣aadir
We will leave behind
مِنۡهُمۡ
minhum
from them
أَحَدٗا
ʹaḥadaa.
anyone
٤٧
18:48
وَعُرِضُواْ
Wa-ʻuriḍoo
And they will be presented
عَلَىٰ
ʻalaa
before
رَبِّكَ
Rabbika
your Lord
صَفّٗا
ṣaffaa.
(in) rows
لَّقَدۡ
Laq̣ad
Certainly
جِئۡتُمُونَا
jiʹtumoonaa
you have come to Us
كَمَا
kamaa
as
خَلَقۡنَٰكُمۡ
khalaq̣naakum
We created you
أَوَّلَ
ʹawwala
the first
مَرَّةِۭۚ
marratim
time
بَلۡ
bal
Nay
زَعَمۡتُمۡ
zaʻamtum
you claimed
أَلَّن
ʹallan
that not
نَّجۡعَلَ
najʻala
We made
لَكُم
lakum
for you
مَّوۡعِدٗا
mawʻidaa:
an appointment
٤٨
18:49
وَوُضِعَ
Wa-wuḍiʻal
And (will) be placed
ٱلۡكِتَٰبُ
Kitaabu
the Book
فَتَرَى
fataral
and you will see
ٱلۡمُجۡرِمِينَ
mujrimeena
the criminals
مُشۡفِقِينَ
mushfiq̣eena
fearful
مِمَّا
mimmaa
of what
فِيهِ
feehi
(is) in it
وَيَقُولُونَ
wa-yaq̣ooloona
and they will say
يَٰوَيۡلَتَنَا
yaa-waylatanaa
Oh woe to us
مَالِ
maa
What (is) for
هَٰذَا
lihaaẓal
this
ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ
kitaabi
[the] Book
لَا
laa-
not
يُغَادِرُ
yug̣aadiru
leaves
صَغِيرَةٗ
ṣag̣eeratañw
a small
وَلَا
walaa
and not
كَبِيرَةً
kabeeratan
a great
إِلَّآ
ʹillaaa
except
أَحۡصَىٰهَاۚ
ʹaḥṣaahaa!
has enumerated it
وَوَجَدُواْ
Wawajadoo
And they will find
مَا
maa-
what
عَمِلُواْ
ʻamiloo
they did
حَاضِرٗاۗ
ḥaaḍiraa:
presented
وَلَا
walaa
And not
يَظۡلِمُ
yaz̤̣limu
deals unjustly
رَبُّكَ
Rabbuka
your Lord
أَحَدٗا
ʹaḥadaa.
(with) anyone
٤٩
18:50
وَإِذۡ
Wa-ʹiẓ
And when
قُلۡنَا
q̣ulnaa
We said
لِلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ
lil-malaaaʹikatis
to the Angels
ٱسۡجُدُواْ
judoo
Prostrate
لِأٓدَمَ
liʹAadama
to Adam
فَسَجَدُوٓاْ
fasajadooo
so they prostrated
إِلَّآ
ʹillaaa
except
إِبۡلِيسَ
ʹIblees.
Iblis
كَانَ
Kaana
(He) was
مِنَ
minal
of
ٱلۡجِنِّ
Jinni
the jinn
فَفَسَقَ
fafasaq̣a
and he rebelled
عَنۡ
ʻan
against
أَمۡرِ
ʹAmri
the Command
رَبِّهِۦٓۗ
Rabbih.
(of) his Lord
أَفَتَتَّخِذُونَهُۥ
ʹAfatattakhiẓoonahoo
Will you then take him
وَذُرِّيَّتَهُۥٓ
waẓurriyyatahooo
and his offspring
أَوۡلِيَآءَ
ʹawliyaaaʹa
(as) protectors
مِن
miñ
other than Me
دُونِي
doonee
other than Me
وَهُمۡ
wa-hum
while they
لَكُمۡ
lakum
(are) to you
عَدُوُّۢۚ
ʻaduww!
enemies
بِئۡسَ
Biʹsa
Wretched
لِلظَّٰلِمِينَ
liz̤̣z̤̣aalimeena
for the wrongdoers
بَدَلٗا
badalaa!
(is) the exchange
٥٠
