Say
ٱلَّذِي
laẓee
He Who
فَطَرَكُمۡ
faṭarakum
created you
أَوَّلَ
ʹawwala
(the) first
مَرَّةٖۚ
marrah!
time
فَسَيُنۡغِضُونَ
Fasayung̣iḍoona
Then they will shake
إِلَيۡكَ
ʹilayka
at you
رُءُوسَهُمۡ
ruʹoosahum
their heads
وَيَقُولُونَ
wa-yaq̣ooloona
and they say
مَتَىٰ
mataa
When (will)
هُوَۖ
hu?
it (be)
قُلۡ
Q̣ul
Say
عَسَىٰٓ
ʻasaaa
Perhaps
أَن
ʹañy
that
يَكُونَ
yakoona
(it) will be
قَرِيبٗا
q̣areebaa!
soon
٥١
17:52
يَوۡمَ
Yawma
(On) the Day
يَدۡعُوكُمۡ
yadʻookum
He will call you
فَتَسۡتَجِيبُونَ
fatastajeeboona
and you will respond
بِحَمۡدِهِۦ
bi-Ḥamdihee
with His Praise
وَتَظُنُّونَ
wa-taunnoona
and you will think
إِن
ʹil
not
لَّبِثۡتُمۡ
labis̤tum
you had remained
إِلَّا
ʹillaa
except
قَلِيلٗا
q̣aleelaa!
a little (while)
٥٢
17:53
وَقُل
Wa-q̣ul
And say
لِّعِبَادِي
liʻibaadee
to My slaves
يَقُولُواْ
yaq̣oolul
(to) say
ٱلَّتِي
latee
that
هِيَ
hiya
which
أَحۡسَنُۚ
ʹaḥsan:
(is) best
إِنَّ
ʹinnash
Indeed
ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنَ
shayṭaana
the Shaitaan
يَنزَغُ
yañzag̣u
sows discord
بَيۡنَهُمۡۚ
baynahum:
between them
إِنَّ
ʹinnash
Indeed
ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنَ
Shayṭaana
the Shaitaan
كَانَ
kaana
is
لِلۡإِنسَٰنِ
lil-ʹiñsaani
to the man
عَدُوّٗا
ʻaduwwam
an enemy
مُّبِينٗا
mubeenaa.

17:54
رَّبُّكُمۡ
Rabbukum
Your Lord
أَعۡلَمُ
ʹaʻlamu
(is) most knowing
بِكُمۡۖ
bikum:
of you
إِن
ʹiñy
If
يَشَأۡ
yashaʹ
He wills
يَرۡحَمۡكُمۡ
yarḥamkum
He will have mercy on you
أَوۡ
ʹaw
or
إِن
ʹiñy
if
يَشَأۡ
yashaʹ
He wills
يُعَذِّبۡكُمۡۚ
yuʻaẓẓibkum:
He will punish you
وَمَآ
wa-maaa
And not
أَرۡسَلۡنَٰكَ
ʹarsalnaaka
We have sent you
عَلَيۡهِمۡ
ʻalayhim
over them
وَكِيلٗا
wakeelaa.
(as) a guardian
٥٤
17:55
وَرَبُّكَ
Wa-Rabbuka
And your Lord
أَعۡلَمُ
ʹaʻlamu
(is) most knowing
بِمَن
bimañ
of whoever
فِي
fis
(is) in
ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ
samaawaati
the heavens
وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۗ
wal-ʹarḍ:
and the earth
وَلَقَدۡ
wa-laq̣ad
And verily
فَضَّلۡنَا
faḍḍalnaa
We have preferred
بَعۡضَ
baʻḍan
some
ٱلنَّبِيِّـۧنَ
nabiyyeena
(of) the Prophets
عَلَىٰ
ʻalaa
to
بَعۡضٖۖ
baʻḍiñw
others
وَءَاتَيۡنَا
waʹaataynaa
And We gave
دَاوُۥدَ
Daawooda
Dawood
زَبُورٗا
Zabooraa.
Zaboor
٥٥
17:56
قُلِ
Q̣ulid
Say
ٱدۡعُواْ
ʻul
Call
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those whom
زَعَمۡتُم
zaʻamtum
you claimed
مِّن
miñ
besides Him
دُونِهِۦ
doonihee
besides Him
فَلَا
falaa
[then] not
يَمۡلِكُونَ
yamlikoona
they have power
كَشۡفَ
kashfaḍ
(to) remove
ٱلضُّرِّ
ḍurri
the misfortunes
عَنكُمۡ
ʻañkum
from you
وَلَا
wa-laa
and not
تَحۡوِيلًا
taḥweelaa.
(to) transfer (it)
٥٦
17:57
أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ
ʹUlaaaʹikal
Those
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
whom
يَدۡعُونَ
yadʻoona
they call
يَبۡتَغُونَ
yabtag̣oona
seek
إِلَىٰ
ʹilaa
to
رَبِّهِمُ
Rabbihimul
their Lord
ٱلۡوَسِيلَةَ
Waseelata
the means of access
أَيُّهُمۡ
ʹayyuhum
which of them
أَقۡرَبُ
ʹaq̣rabu
(is) nearest
وَيَرۡجُونَ
wa-yarjoona
and they hope
رَحۡمَتَهُۥ
Raḥmatahoo
(for) His mercy
وَيَخَافُونَ
wa-yakhafoona
and fear
عَذَابَهُۥٓۚ
ʻAẓaabah:
His punishment
إِنَّ
ʹinna
Indeed
عَذَابَ
ʻAẓaaba
(the) punishment
رَبِّكَ
Rabbika
(of) your Lord
كَانَ
kaana
is
مَحۡذُورٗا
maḥẓooraa.
(ever) feared
٥٧
17:58
وَإِن
Wa-ʹim
And not
مِّن
miñ
(is) any
قَرۡيَةٍ
q̣aryatin
town
إِلَّا
ʹillaa
but
نَحۡنُ
Naḥnu
We
مُهۡلِكُوهَا
muhlikoohaa
(will) destroy it
قَبۡلَ
q̣abla
before
يَوۡمِ
yawmil
(the) Day
ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِ
Q̣iyaamati
(of) the Resurrection
أَوۡ
ʹaw
or
مُعَذِّبُوهَا
muʻaẓẓiboohaa
punish it
عَذَابٗا
ʻaẓaabañ
with a punishment
شَدِيدٗاۚ
shadeedaa:
severe
كَانَ
kaana
That is
ذَٰلِكَ
ẓaalika
That is
فِي
fil
in
ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ
Kitaabi
the Book
مَسۡطُورٗا
masṭooraa.

17:59
وَمَا
Wa-maa
And not
مَنَعَنَآ
manaʻanaaa
stopped Us
أَن
ʹañ
that
نُّرۡسِلَ
nursila
We send
بِٱلۡأٓيَٰتِ
bil-ʹaayaati
the Signs
إِلَّآ
ʹillaaa
except
أَن
ʹañ
that
كَذَّبَ
kaẓẓaba
denied
بِهَا
bihal
them
ٱلۡأَوَّلُونَۚ
ʹawwaloon:
the former (people)
وَءَاتَيۡنَا
wa-ʹaataynaa
And We gave
ثَمُودَ
S̤amoodan
Thamud
ٱلنَّاقَةَ
Naaq̣ata
the she-camel
مُبۡصِرَةٗ
mubṣiratañ
(as) a visible sign
فَظَلَمُواْ
faalamoo
but they wronged
بِهَاۚ
bihaa:
her
وَمَا
wa-maa
And not
نُرۡسِلُ
nursilu
We send
بِٱلۡأٓيَٰتِ
bil-ʹAayaati
the Signs
إِلَّا
ʹillaa
except
تَخۡوِيفٗا
takhweefaa.
(as) a warning
٥٩
17:60
وَإِذۡ
Wa-ʹiẓ
And when
قُلۡنَا
q̣ulnaa
We said
لَكَ
laka
to you
إِنَّ
ʹinna
Indeed
رَبَّكَ
Rabbaka
your Lord
أَحَاطَ
ʹaḥaaṭa
has encompassed
بِٱلنَّاسِۚ
binnaas:
the mankind
وَمَا
wa-maa
And not
جَعَلۡنَا
jaʻalnar
We made
ٱلرُّءۡيَا
ruʹyal
the vision
ٱلَّتِيٓ
lateee
which
أَرَيۡنَٰكَ
ʹaraynaaka
We showed you
إِلَّا
ʹillaa
except
فِتۡنَةٗ
fitnatal
(as) a trial
لِّلنَّاسِ
linnaasi
for mankind
وَٱلشَّجَرَةَ
wash-Shajaratal
and the tree
ٱلۡمَلۡعُونَةَ
Malʻoonata
the accursed
فِي
fil
in
ٱلۡقُرۡءَانِۚ
Q̣urʹaan:
the Quran
وَنُخَوِّفُهُمۡ
wa-nukhaw-wifuhum
And We threaten them
فَمَا
famaa
but not
يَزِيدُهُمۡ
yazeeduhum
it increases them
إِلَّا
ʹillaa
except
طُغۡيَٰنٗا
ṭug̣yaanañ
(in) transgression
كَبِيرٗا
kabeeraa.
great
٦٠
17:61
وَإِذۡ
Wa-ʹiẓ
And when
قُلۡنَا
q̣ulnaa
We said
لِلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ
lil-malaaaʹikatis
to the Angels
ٱسۡجُدُواْ
judoo
Prostrate
لِأٓدَمَ
liʹAadama
to Adam
فَسَجَدُوٓاْ
fasajadooo
So they prostrated
إِلَّآ
ʹillaaa
except
إِبۡلِيسَ
ʹIblees:
Iblis
قَالَ
q̣aala
He said
ءَأَسۡجُدُ
ʹaʹasjudu
Shall I prostrate
لِمَنۡ
liman
to (one) whom
خَلَقۡتَ
khalaq̣ta
You created
طِينٗا
ṭeenaa?
(from) clay
٦١
17:62
قَالَ
Q̣aala
He said
أَرَءَيۡتَكَ
ʹaraʹaytaka
Do You see
هَٰذَا
haaẓal
this
ٱلَّذِي
laẓee
whom
كَرَّمۡتَ
karramta
You have honored
عَلَيَّ
ʻalayy!
above me
لَئِنۡ
Laʹin
If
أَخَّرۡتَنِ
ʹakhkhartani
You give me respite
إِلَىٰ
ʹilaa
till
يَوۡمِ
Yawmil
(the) Day
ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِ
Q̣iyaamati
(of) the Resurrection
لَأَحۡتَنِكَنَّ
laʹaḥtanikanna
I will surely destroy
ذُرِّيَّتَهُۥٓ
ẓurriyyatahooo
his offspring
إِلَّا
ʹillaa
except
قَلِيلٗا
q̣aleelaa!
a few
٦٢
17:63
قَالَ
Q̣aalaẓ
He said
ٱذۡهَبۡ
hab
Go
فَمَن
famañ
and whoever
تَبِعَكَ
tabiʻaka
follows you
مِنۡهُمۡ
minhum
among them
فَإِنَّ
faʹinna
then indeed
جَهَنَّمَ
Jahannama
Hell
جَزَآؤُكُمۡ
jazaaaʹukum
(is) your recompense
جَزَآءٗ
jazaaaʹam
a recompense
مَّوۡفُورٗا
mawfooraa.
ample
٦٣
17:64
وَٱسۡتَفۡزِزۡ
Wastafziz
And incite
مَنِ
manis
whoever
ٱسۡتَطَعۡتَ
taṭaʻta
you can
مِنۡهُم
minhum̃
among them
بِصَوۡتِكَ
biṣawtika
with your voice
وَأَجۡلِبۡ
wa-ʹajlib
and assault
عَلَيۡهِم
ʻalayhim̃
[on] them
بِخَيۡلِكَ
bikhaylika
with your cavalry
وَرَجِلِكَ
wa-rajilika
and infantry
وَشَارِكۡهُمۡ
wa-shaarik-hum
and be a partner
فِي
fil
in
ٱلۡأَمۡوَٰلِ
ʹamwaali
the wealth
وَٱلۡأَوۡلَٰدِ
wal-ʹawlaadi
and the children
وَعِدۡهُمۡۚ
wa-ʻidhum.
and promise them
وَمَا
Wa-maa
And not
يَعِدُهُمُ
yaʻiduhumush
promises them
ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنُ
Shayṭaanu
the Shaitaan
إِلَّا
ʹillaa
except
غُرُورًا
g̣urooraa.
delusion
٦٤
17:65
إِنَّ
ʹInna
Indeed
عِبَادِي
ʻibaadi
My slaves
لَيۡسَ
laysa
not
لَكَ
laka
for you
عَلَيۡهِمۡ
ʻalayhim
over them
سُلۡطَٰنٞۚ
sulṭaan:
any authority
وَكَفَىٰ
wa-kafaa
And sufficient
بِرَبِّكَ
bi-Rabbika
(is) your Lord
وَكِيلٗا
Wakeelaa.
(as) a Guardian
٦٥
17:66
رَّبُّكُمُ
Rabbukumul
Your Lord
ٱلَّذِي
laẓee
(is) the One Who
يُزۡجِي
yuzjee
drives
لَكُمُ
lakumul
for you
ٱلۡفُلۡكَ
Fulka
the ship
فِي
fil
in
ٱلۡبَحۡرِ
baḥri
the sea
لِتَبۡتَغُواْ
litabtag̣oo
that you may seek
مِن
miñ
of
فَضۡلِهِۦٓۚ
faḍlih
His Bounty
إِنَّهُۥ
ʹInnahoo
Indeed He
كَانَ
kaana
is
بِكُمۡ
bikum
to you
رَحِيمٗا
Raḥeemaa.
Ever Merciful
٦٦

17:67
وَإِذَا
Wa-ʹiẓaa
And when
مَسَّكُمُ
massakumuḍ
touches you
ٱلضُّرُّ
ḍurru
the hardship
فِي
fil
in
ٱلۡبَحۡرِ
baḥri
the sea
ضَلَّ
ḍalla
lost
مَن
mañ
(are) who
تَدۡعُونَ
tadʻoona
you call
إِلَّآ
ʹillaaa
except
إِيَّاهُۖ
ʹiyyaah!
Him Alone
فَلَمَّا
Falammaa
But when
نَجَّىٰكُمۡ
najjaakum
He delivers you
إِلَى
ʹilal
to
ٱلۡبَرِّ
barri
the land
أَعۡرَضۡتُمۡۚ
ʹaʻraḍtum.
you turn away
وَكَانَ
Wa-kaanal
And is
ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ
ʹiñsaanu
man
كَفُورًا
kafooraa!
ungrateful
٦٧
17:68
أَفَأَمِنتُمۡ
ʹA-faʹamiñtum
Do you then feel secure
أَن
ʹañy
that (not)
يَخۡسِفَ
yakhsifa
He will cause to swallow
بِكُمۡ
bikum
you
جَانِبَ
jaanibal
side
ٱلۡبَرِّ
barri
(of) the land
أَوۡ
ʹaw
or
يُرۡسِلَ
yursila
send
عَلَيۡكُمۡ
ʻalaykum
against you
حَاصِبٗا
ḥaasibañ
a storm of stones
ثُمَّ
s̤umma
Then
لَا
laa-
not
تَجِدُواْ
tajidoo
you will find
لَكُمۡ
lakum
for you
وَكِيلًا
wakeelaa?
a guardian
٦٨
17:69
أَمۡ
ʹAm
Or
أَمِنتُمۡ
ʹamiñtum
do you feel secure
أَن
ʹañy
that (not)
يُعِيدَكُمۡ
yuʻeedakum
He will send you back
فِيهِ
feehi
into it
تَارَةً
taaratan
another time
أُخۡرَىٰ
ʹukhraa
another time
فَيُرۡسِلَ
fayursila
and send
عَلَيۡكُمۡ
ʻalaykum
upon you
قَاصِفٗا
q̣aaṣifam
a hurricane
مِّنَ
minar
of
ٱلرِّيحِ
reeḥi
the wind
فَيُغۡرِقَكُم
fayug̣riq̣akum̃
and drown you
بِمَا
bimaa
because
كَفَرۡتُمۡ
kafartum
you disbelieved
ثُمَّ
s̤umma
Then
لَا
laa-
not
تَجِدُواْ
tajidoo
you will find
لَكُمۡ
lakum
for you
عَلَيۡنَا
ʻalaynaa
against Us
بِهِۦ
bihee
therein
تَبِيعٗا
tabeeʻaa?
an avenger
٦٩
17:70
۞وَلَقَدۡ
Wa-laq̣ad
And certainly
كَرَّمۡنَا
karramnaa
We have honored
بَنِيٓ
Baneee
(the) children of Adam
ءَادَمَ
ʹAadama
(the) children of Adam
وَحَمَلۡنَٰهُمۡ
waḥamalnaahum
and We carried them
فِي
fil
on
ٱلۡبَرِّ
barri
the land
وَٱلۡبَحۡرِ
walbaḥri
and the sea
وَرَزَقۡنَٰهُم
wa-razaq̣naahum
and We have provided them
مِّنَ
minaṭ
of
ٱلطَّيِّبَٰتِ
ṭayyibaati
the good things
وَفَضَّلۡنَٰهُمۡ
wa-faḍḍalnaahum
and We preferred them
عَلَىٰ
ʻalaa
over
كَثِيرٖ
kas̤eerim
many
مِّمَّنۡ
mimman
of those whom
خَلَقۡنَا
khalaq̣naa
We have created
تَفۡضِيلٗا
tafḍeelaa.
(with) preference
٧٠
17:71
يَوۡمَ
Yawma
(The) Day
نَدۡعُواْ
nadʻoo
We will call
كُلَّ
kulla
all
أُنَاسِۭ
ʹunaasim
human beings
بِإِمَٰمِهِمۡۖ
biʹImaamihim:
with their record
فَمَنۡ
faman
then whoever
أُوتِيَ
ʹootiya
is given
كِتَٰبَهُۥ
kitaabahoo
his record
بِيَمِينِهِۦ
biyameenihee
in his right hand
فَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ
faʹulaaaʹika
then those
يَقۡرَءُونَ
yaq̣raʹoona
will read
كِتَٰبَهُمۡ
kitaabahum
their records
وَلَا
wa-laa
and not
يُظۡلَمُونَ
yuz̤̣lamoona
they will be wronged
فَتِيلٗا
fateelaa.
(even as much as) a hair on a date seed
٧١
17:72
وَمَن
Wa-mañ
And whoever
كَانَ
kaana
is
فِي
fee
in
هَٰذِهِۦٓ
haaẓiheee
this (world)
أَعۡمَىٰ
ʹaʻmaa
blind
فَهُوَ
fahuwa
then he
فِي
fil
in
ٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ
ʹAakhirati
the Hereafter
أَعۡمَىٰ
ʹaʻmaa
(will be) blind
وَأَضَلُّ
wa-ʹaḍallu
and more astray
سَبِيلٗا
Sabeelaa.
(from the) path
٧٢
17:73
وَإِن
Wa-ʹiñ
And indeed
كَادُواْ
kaadoo
they were about (to)
لَيَفۡتِنُونَكَ
layaftinoonaka
tempt you away
عَنِ
ʻanil
from
ٱلَّذِيٓ
laẓeee
that which
أَوۡحَيۡنَآ
ʹawḥaynaaa
We revealed
إِلَيۡكَ
ʹilayka
to you
لِتَفۡتَرِيَ
litaftariya
that you invent
عَلَيۡنَا
ʻalaynaa
about Us
غَيۡرَهُۥۖ
g̣ayrah:
other (than) it
وَإِذٗا
wa-ʹiẓallat
And then
لَّٱتَّخَذُوكَ
takhaẓooka
surely they would take you
خَلِيلٗا
khaleelaa!
(as) a friend
٧٣
17:74
وَلَوۡلَآ
Wa-lawlaaa
And if not
أَن
ʹañ
[that]
ثَبَّتۡنَٰكَ
s̤abbatnaaka
We (had) strengthened you
لَقَدۡ
laq̣ad
certainly
كِدتَّ
kitta
you almost
تَرۡكَنُ
tarkanu
(would) have inclined
إِلَيۡهِمۡ
ʹilayhim
to them
شَيۡـٔٗا
shayʹañ
(in) something
قَلِيلًا
q̣aleelaa.
a little
٧٤
17:75
إِذٗا
ʹIẓal
Then
لَّأَذَقۡنَٰكَ
laʹaẓaq̣naaka
We (would) have made you taste
ضِعۡفَ
ḍiʻfal
double
ٱلۡحَيَوٰةِ
ḥayaati
(in) the life
وَضِعۡفَ
waḍiʻfal
and double
ٱلۡمَمَاتِ
mamaati
(after) the death
ثُمَّ
s̤umma
Then
لَا
laa-
not
تَجِدُ
tajidu
you (would) have found
لَكَ
laka
for you
عَلَيۡنَا
ʻalaynaa
against Us
نَصِيرٗا
naṣeeraa!
any helper
٧٥
