And Allah sets forth
ٱللَّهُ

أَحَدُهُمَآ
ʹaḥaduhumaaa
one of them
أَبۡكَمُ
ʹabkamu
(is) dumb
لَا
laa-
not
يَقۡدِرُ
yaq̣diru
he has power
عَلَىٰ
ʻalaa
on
شَيۡءٖ
shayʹiñw
anything
وَهُوَ
wa huwa
while he
كَلٌّ
kallun
(is) a burden
عَلَىٰ
ʻalaa
on
مَوۡلَىٰهُ
mawlaahu
his master
أَيۡنَمَا
ʹaynamaa
Wherever
يُوَجِّههُّ
yuwajjihhu
he directs him
لَا
laa-
not
يَأۡتِ
yaʹti
he comes
بِخَيۡرٍ
bikhayr:
with any good
هَلۡ
hal
Is
يَسۡتَوِي
yastawee
equal
هُوَ
huwa
he
وَمَن
wa-mañy
and (the one) who
يَأۡمُرُ
yaʹmuru
commands
بِٱلۡعَدۡلِ
bilʻadli
[of] justice
وَهُوَ
wa-huwa
and he
عَلَىٰ
ʻalaa
(is) on
صِرَٰطٖ
Ṣiraaṭim
a path
مُّسۡتَقِيمٖ
Mustaq̣eem?
straight
٧٦
16:77
وَلِلَّهِ
Wa-lillaahi
And to Allah (belongs)
غَيۡبُ
g̣aybus
(the) unseen
ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ
samaawaati
(of) the heavens
وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ
wal-ʹarḍ.
and the earth
وَمَآ
Wa-maaa
And not
أَمۡرُ
ʹamrus
(is the) matter
ٱلسَّاعَةِ
Saaʻati
(of) the Hour
إِلَّا
ʹillaa
but
كَلَمۡحِ
kalamḥil
as a twinkling
ٱلۡبَصَرِ
baṣari
(of) the eye
أَوۡ
ʹaw
or
هُوَ
huwa
it
أَقۡرَبُۚ
ʹaq̣rab:
(is) nearer
إِنَّ
ʹinnal
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
عَلَىٰ
ʻalaa
on
كُلِّ
kulli
every
شَيۡءٖ
shayʹiñ
thing
قَدِيرٞ
Q̣adeer.
(is) All-Powerful
٧٧
16:78
وَٱللَّهُ
Wallaahu
And Allah
أَخۡرَجَكُم
ʹakhrajakum
brought you forth
مِّنۢ
mim
from
بُطُونِ
buṭooni
the wombs
أُمَّهَٰتِكُمۡ
ʹummahaatikum
(of) your mothers
لَا
laa-
not
تَعۡلَمُونَ
taʻlamoona
knowing
شَيۡـٔٗا
shayʹañw
anything
وَجَعَلَ
wajaʻala
and made
لَكُمُ
lakumus
for you
ٱلسَّمۡعَ
samʻa
the hearing
وَٱلۡأَبۡصَٰرَ
wal-ʹabṣaara
and the sight
وَٱلۡأَفۡـِٔدَةَ
wal-ʹafʹidata
and the hearts
لَعَلَّكُمۡ
laʻallakum
so that you may
تَشۡكُرُونَ
tashkuroon.
give thanks
٧٨
16:79
أَلَمۡ
ʹAlam
Do not
يَرَوۡاْ
yaraw
they see
إِلَى
ʹilaṭ
towards
ٱلطَّيۡرِ
ṭayri
the birds
مُسَخَّرَٰتٖ
musakhkharaatiñ
controlled
فِي
fee
in
جَوِّ
jawwis
the midst
ٱلسَّمَآءِ
samaaaʹ?
(of) the sky
مَا
Maa-
None
يُمۡسِكُهُنَّ
yumsikuhunna
holds them up
إِلَّا
ʹillal
except
ٱللَّهُۚ
laah.
Allah
إِنَّ
ʹInna
Indeed
فِي
fee
in
ذَٰلِكَ
ẓaalika
that
لَأٓيَٰتٖ
laʹAayaatil
(are) Signs
لِّقَوۡمٖ
liq̣awmiñy
for a people
يُؤۡمِنُونَ
yuʹminoon.
who believe
٧٩

16:80
وَٱللَّهُ
Wallaahu
And Allah
جَعَلَ
jaʻala
(has) made
لَكُم
lakum
for you
مِّنۢ
mim
[from]
بُيُوتِكُمۡ
buyootikum
your homes
سَكَنٗا
sakanañw
a resting place
وَجَعَلَ
wajaʻala
and made
لَكُم
lakum
for you
مِّن
miñ
from
جُلُودِ
juloodil
the hides
ٱلۡأَنۡعَٰمِ
ʹanʻaami
(of) the cattle
بُيُوتٗا
buyootañ
tents
تَسۡتَخِفُّونَهَا
tastakhiffoonahaa
which you find light
يَوۡمَ
yawma
(on) the day
ظَعۡنِكُمۡ
z̤̣aʻnikum
(of) your travel
وَيَوۡمَ
wa-yawma
and the day
إِقَامَتِكُمۡ
ʻiq̣aamatikum
(of) your encampment
وَمِنۡ
wa-min
and from
أَصۡوَافِهَا
aṣwaafihaa
their wool
وَأَوۡبَارِهَا
wa-ʹawbaarihaa
and their fur
وَأَشۡعَارِهَآ
wa-ʹashʻaarihaaa
and their hair
أَثَٰثٗا
ʹas̤aas̤añw
(is) furnishing
وَمَتَٰعًا
Wamataaʻan
and a provision
إِلَىٰ
ʹilaa
for
حِينٖ
ḥeen.
a time
٨٠
16:81
وَٱللَّهُ
Wallaahu
And Allah
جَعَلَ
jaʻala
(has) made
لَكُم
lakum
for you
مِّمَّا
mimmaa
from what
خَلَقَ
khalaq̣a
He created
ظِلَٰلٗا
z̤̣ilaalañw
shades
وَجَعَلَ
wajaʻala
and (has) made
لَكُم
lakum
for you
مِّنَ
minal
from
ٱلۡجِبَالِ
jibaali
the mountains
أَكۡنَٰنٗا
ʹaknaanañw
shelters
وَجَعَلَ
Wajaʻala
and (has) made
لَكُمۡ
lakum
for you
سَرَٰبِيلَ
saraabeela
garments
تَقِيكُمُ
taq̣eekumul
to protect you
ٱلۡحَرَّ
ḥarra
(from) the heat
وَسَرَٰبِيلَ
wa-saraabeela
and garments
تَقِيكُم
taq̣eekum̃
to protect you
بَأۡسَكُمۡۚ
baʹsakum.
from your (mutual) violence
كَذَٰلِكَ
Kaẓaalika
Thus
يُتِمُّ
yutimmu
He completes
نِعۡمَتَهُۥ
niʻmatahoo
His Favor
عَلَيۡكُمۡ
ʻalaykum
upon you
لَعَلَّكُمۡ
laʻallakum
so that you may
تُسۡلِمُونَ
tuslimoon.

16:82
فَإِن
Faʹiñ
Then if
تَوَلَّوۡاْ
tawallaw
they turn away
فَإِنَّمَا
faʹinnamaa
then only
عَلَيۡكَ
ʻalaykal
upon you
ٱلۡبَلَٰغُ
Balaag̣ul
(is) the conveyance
ٱلۡمُبِينُ
Mubeen.
the clear
٨٢
16:83
يَعۡرِفُونَ
Yaʻrifoona
They recognize
نِعۡمَتَ
niʻmatal
(the) Favor
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
(of) Allah
ثُمَّ
s̤umma
then
يُنكِرُونَهَا
yuñkiroonahaa
they deny it
وَأَكۡثَرُهُمُ
wa-ʹaksaruhumul
And most of them
ٱلۡكَٰفِرُونَ
kaafiroon.
(are) the disbelievers
٨٣
16:84
وَيَوۡمَ
Wa-yawma
And the Day
نَبۡعَثُ
nabʻas̤u
We will resurrect
مِن
miñ
from
كُلِّ
kulli
every
أُمَّةٖ
ʹummatiñ
nation
شَهِيدٗا
Shaheedañ
a witness
ثُمَّ
s̤umma
then
لَا
laa-
not
يُؤۡذَنُ
yuʹẓanu
will be permitted
لِلَّذِينَ
lillaẓeena
to those who
كَفَرُواْ
kafaroo
disbelieved
وَلَا
wa-laa
and not
هُمۡ
hum
they
يُسۡتَعۡتَبُونَ
yustaʻtaboon.
will be asked to make amends
٨٤
16:85
وَإِذَا
Wa-ʹiẓaa
And when
رَءَا
ra
(will) see
ٱلَّذِينَ
ʹallaẓeena
those who
ظَلَمُواْ
z̤̣alamul
wronged
ٱلۡعَذَابَ
ʻAẓaaba
the punishment
فَلَا
falaa
then not
يُخَفَّفُ
yukhaffafu
it will be lightened
عَنۡهُمۡ
ʻanhum
for them
وَلَا
wa-laa
and not
هُمۡ
hum
they
يُنظَرُونَ
yuñz̤̣aroon.
will be given respite
٨٥
16:86
وَإِذَا
Wa-ʹiẓaa
And when
رَءَا
ra
(will) see
ٱلَّذِينَ
ʹallaẓeena
those who
أَشۡرَكُواْ
ʹashrakoo
associated partners with Allah
شُرَكَآءَهُمۡ
shurakaaaʹahum
their partners
قَالُواْ
q̣aaloo
They will say
رَبَّنَا
Rabbanaa
Our Lord
هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ
haaaʹulaaaʹi
these
شُرَكَآؤُنَا
shurakaaaʹunal
(are) our partners
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those whom
كُنَّا
kunnaa
we used to
نَدۡعُواْ
nadʻoo
invoke
مِن
miñ
besides You
دُونِكَۖ
doonik.
besides You
فَأَلۡقَوۡاْ
Faʹalq̣aw
But they (will) throw back
إِلَيۡهِمُ
ʹilayhimul
at them
ٱلۡقَوۡلَ
q̣awla
(their) word
إِنَّكُمۡ
ʹinnakum
Indeed you
لَكَٰذِبُونَ
lakaaẓiboon!
(are) surely liars
٨٦
16:87
وَأَلۡقَوۡاْ
Wa-ʹalq̣aw
And they (will) offer
إِلَى
ʹilal
to
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
Allah
يَوۡمَئِذٍ
yawmaʹiẓinis
(on) that Day
ٱلسَّلَمَۖ
salama
the submission
وَضَلَّ
wa-ḍalla
and (is) lost
عَنۡهُم
ʻanhum
from them
مَّا
maa
what
كَانُواْ
kaanoo
they used (to)
يَفۡتَرُونَ
yaftaroon.
invent

16:88
ٱلَّذِينَ
ʹAllaẓeena
And those who
كَفَرُواْ
kafaroo
disbelieved
وَصَدُّواْ
waṣaddoo
and hindered
عَن
ʻañ
from
سَبِيلِ
Sabeelil
(the) way
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
(of) Allah
زِدۡنَٰهُمۡ
zidnaahum
We will increase them
عَذَابٗا
ʻAẓaabañ
(in) punishment
فَوۡقَ
fawq̣al
over
ٱلۡعَذَابِ
ʻaẓaabi
punishment
بِمَا
bimaa
because
كَانُواْ
kaanoo
they used (to)
يُفۡسِدُونَ
yufsidoon.
spread corruption
٨٨
16:89
وَيَوۡمَ
Wa-yawma
And the Day
نَبۡعَثُ
nabʻas̤u
We will resurrect
فِي
fee
among
كُلِّ
kulli
every
أُمَّةٖ
ʹummatiñ
nation
شَهِيدًا
shaheedan
a witness
عَلَيۡهِم
ʻalayhim
over them
مِّنۡ
min
from
أَنفُسِهِمۡۖ
ʹañfusihim
themselves
وَجِئۡنَا
wa-jiʹnaa
And We (will) bring
بِكَ
bika
you
شَهِيدًا
shaheedan
(as) a witness
عَلَىٰ
ʻalaa
over
هَٰٓؤُلَآءِۚ
haaaʹulaaaʹ.
these
وَنَزَّلۡنَا
Wa-nazzalnaa
And We sent down
عَلَيۡكَ
ʻalaykal
to you
ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ
Kitaaba
the Book
تِبۡيَٰنٗا
tibyaanal
(as) a clarification
لِّكُلِّ
likulli
of every
شَيۡءٖ
shayʹiñw
thing
وَهُدٗى
wa-Hudañw
and a guidance
وَرَحۡمَةٗ
wa-Raḥmatañw
and mercy
وَبُشۡرَىٰ
wa-Bushraa
and glad tidings
لِلۡمُسۡلِمِينَ
lil-Muslimeen.
for the Muslims
٨٩
16:90
۞إِنَّ
ʹInnal
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
يَأۡمُرُ
yaʹmuru
commands
بِٱلۡعَدۡلِ
bil-ʻadli
justice
وَٱلۡإِحۡسَٰنِ
wal-ʹiḥsaani
and the good
وَإِيتَآيِٕ
wa-ʹeetaaaʹi
and giving
ذِي
ẓil
(to) relatives
ٱلۡقُرۡبَىٰ
q̣urbaa
(to) relatives
وَيَنۡهَىٰ
wa-yanhaa
and forbids
عَنِ
ʻanil
[from]
ٱلۡفَحۡشَآءِ
faḥshaaaʹi
the immorality
وَٱلۡمُنكَرِ
wal-muñkari
and the bad
وَٱلۡبَغۡيِۚ
walbag̣yi:
and the oppression
يَعِظُكُمۡ
yaʻi-Z̤̣ukum
He admonishes you
لَعَلَّكُمۡ
laʻallakum
so that you may
تَذَكَّرُونَ
taẓakkaroon.
take heed
٩٠
16:91
وَأَوۡفُواْ
Wa-ʹawfoo
And fulfil
بِعَهۡدِ
biʻAhdil
the covenant
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
(of) Allah
إِذَا
ʹiẓaa
when
عَٰهَدتُّمۡ
ʻaahattum
you have taken a covenant
وَلَا
wa-laa
and (do) not
تَنقُضُواْ
tañq̣uḍul
break
ٱلۡأَيۡمَٰنَ
ʹaymaana
oaths
بَعۡدَ
baʻda
after
تَوۡكِيدِهَا
tawkeedihaa
their confirmation
وَقَدۡ
wa-q̣ad
while verily
جَعَلۡتُمُ
jaʻaltumul
you have made
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
عَلَيۡكُمۡ
ʻalaykum
over you
كَفِيلًاۚ
kafeelaa:
a surety
إِنَّ
ʹinnal
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
يَعۡلَمُ
yaʻlamu
knows
مَا
maa-
what
تَفۡعَلُونَ
tafʻaloon.
you do
٩١
16:92
وَلَا
Wa-laa
And (do) not
تَكُونُواْ
takoonoo
be
كَٱلَّتِي
kallatee
like her who
نَقَضَتۡ
naq̣aḍat
untwists
غَزۡلَهَا
g̣azlahaa
her spun yarn
مِنۢ
mim
after
بَعۡدِ
baʻdi
after
قُوَّةٍ
q̣uwwatin
strength
أَنكَٰثٗا
ʹañkaas̤aa.
(into) untwisted strands
تَتَّخِذُونَ
Tattakhiẓoona
you take
أَيۡمَٰنَكُمۡ
ʹaymaanakum
your oaths
دَخَلَۢا
dakhalam
(as) a deception
بَيۡنَكُمۡ
baynakum
between you
أَن
ʹañ
because
تَكُونَ
takoona
is
أُمَّةٌ
ʹummatun
a community
هِيَ
hiya
[it]
أَرۡبَىٰ
ʹarbaa
more numerous
مِنۡ
min
than
أُمَّةٍۚ
ʹummah;
(another) community
إِنَّمَا
ʹinnamaa
Only
يَبۡلُوكُمُ
yablookumul
Allah tests you
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah tests you
بِهِۦۚ
bih;
by it
وَلَيُبَيِّنَنَّ
wa-la-yubayyinanna
And He will make clear
لَكُمۡ
lakum
to you
يَوۡمَ
Yawmal
(on) the Day
ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِ
Q̣iyaamati
(of) the Resurrection
مَا
maa-
what
كُنتُمۡ
kuñtum
you used (to)
فِيهِ
feehi
in it
تَخۡتَلِفُونَ
takhtalifoon.
differ
٩٢
16:93
وَلَوۡ
Wa-law
And if
شَآءَ
shaaaʹal
Allah (had) willed
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah (had) willed
لَجَعَلَكُمۡ
lajaʻalakum
surely He (could) have made you
أُمَّةٗ
ʹummatañw
a nation
وَٰحِدَةٗ
waaḥidatañw
one
وَلَٰكِن
walaakiñy
but
يُضِلُّ
yuḍillu
He lets go astray
مَن
mañy
whom
يَشَآءُ
yashaaaʹu
He wills
وَيَهۡدِي
wa-yahdee
and guides
مَن
mañy
whom
يَشَآءُۚ
yashaaaʹ:
He wills
وَلَتُسۡـَٔلُنَّ
wa-latusʹalunna
And surely you will be questioned
عَمَّا
ʻammaa
about what
كُنتُمۡ
kuñtum
you used (to)
تَعۡمَلُونَ
taʻmaloon.
do
٩٣

16:94
وَلَا
Wa-laa
And (do) not
تَتَّخِذُوٓاْ
tattakhiẓooo
take
أَيۡمَٰنَكُمۡ
ʹaymaanakum
your oaths
دَخَلَۢا
dakhalam
(as) a deception
بَيۡنَكُمۡ
baynakum
between you
فَتَزِلَّ
fatazilla
lest should slip
قَدَمُۢ
q̣adamum
a foot
بَعۡدَ
baʻda
after
ثُبُوتِهَا
s̤ubootihaa
it is firmly planted
وَتَذُوقُواْ
wa-taẓooq̣us
and you would taste
ٱلسُّوٓءَ
soooʹa
the evil
بِمَا
bimaa
for what
صَدَدتُّمۡ
ṣadattum
you hindered
عَن
ʻañ
from
سَبِيلِ
Sabeelil
(the) way
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
(of) Allah
وَلَكُمۡ
walakum
and for you
عَذَابٌ
ʻaẓaabun
(is) a punishment
عَظِيمٞ
ʻaz̤̣eem.
great
٩٤
16:95
وَلَا
Wa-laa
And (do) not
تَشۡتَرُواْ
tashtaroo
exchange
بِعَهۡدِ
biʻAhdil
the covenant
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
(of) Allah
ثَمَنٗا
s̤amanañ
(for) a price
قَلِيلًاۚ
q̣aleelaa:
little
إِنَّمَا
ʹinnamaa
Indeed what
عِندَ
ʻiñdal
(is) with
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
Allah
هُوَ
huwa
it
خَيۡرٞ
khayrul
(is) better
لَّكُمۡ
lakum
for you
إِن
ʹiñ
if
كُنتُمۡ
kuñtum
you were (to)
تَعۡلَمُونَ
taʻlamoon.
know
٩٥
16:96
مَا
Maa-
Whatever
عِندَكُمۡ
ʻiñdakum
(is) with you
يَنفَدُ
yañfadu
will be exhausted
وَمَا
wa-maa
and whatever
عِندَ
ʻiñdal
(is) with
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
Allah
بَاقٖۗ
baaq̣.
(will) be remaining
وَلَنَجۡزِيَنَّ
Wa-lanajziyannal
And surely We will pay
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those who
صَبَرُوٓاْ
ṣabarooo
(are) patient
أَجۡرَهُم
ʹajrahum̃
their reward
بِأَحۡسَنِ
biʹaḥsani
to (the) best
مَا
maa-
(of) what
كَانُواْ
kaanoo
they used (to)
يَعۡمَلُونَ
yaʻmaloon.
do
٩٦
16:97
مَنۡ
Man
Whoever
عَمِلَ
ʻamila
does
صَٰلِحٗا
ṣaaliḥam
righteous deeds
مِّن
miñ
whether
ذَكَرٍ
ẓakarin
male
أَوۡ
ʹaw
or
أُنثَىٰ
ʹuñs̤aa
female
وَهُوَ
wa-huwa
while he
مُؤۡمِنٞ
Muʹminuñ
(is) a believer
فَلَنُحۡيِيَنَّهُۥ
falanuḥyiyannahoo
then surely We will give him life
حَيَوٰةٗ
Ḥayaatañ
a life
طَيِّبَةٗۖ
Ṭayyibah,
good
وَلَنَجۡزِيَنَّهُمۡ
wa-lanajzi-yannahum
and We will pay them
أَجۡرَهُم
ʹajrahum̃
their reward
بِأَحۡسَنِ
biʹaḥsani
to (the) best
مَا
maa-
of what
كَانُواْ
kaanoo
they used (to)
يَعۡمَلُونَ
yaʻmaloon.
do
٩٧
16:98
فَإِذَا
Faʹiẓaa
So when
قَرَأۡتَ
q̣araʹtal
you recite
ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ
Q̣urʹaana
the Quran
فَٱسۡتَعِذۡ
fastaʻiẓ
seek refuge
بِٱللَّهِ
billaahi
in Allah
مِنَ
minash
from
ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنِ
Shayṭaanir
the Shaitaan
ٱلرَّجِيمِ
Rajeem.
the accursed
٩٨
16:99
إِنَّهُۥ
ʹInnahoo
Indeed he
لَيۡسَ
laysa
not
لَهُۥ
lahoo
for him
سُلۡطَٰنٌ
sulṭaanun
(is) any authority
عَلَى
ʻalal
on
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those who
ءَامَنُواْ
ʹaamanoo
believe
وَعَلَىٰ
wa-ʻalaa
and upon
رَبِّهِمۡ
Rabbihim
their Lord
يَتَوَكَّلُونَ
yatawakkaloon.
they put their trust
٩٩
16:100
إِنَّمَا
ʹInnamaa
Only
سُلۡطَٰنُهُۥ
sulṭaanuhoo
his authority
عَلَى
ʻalal
(is) over
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those who
يَتَوَلَّوۡنَهُۥ
yatawallawnahoo
take him as an ally
وَٱلَّذِينَ
wallaẓeena
and those who
هُم
hum̃
[they]
بِهِۦ
bihee
with Him
مُشۡرِكُونَ
mushrikoon.
associate partners
