۞وَقَالَ
Waq̣aalal
And Allah has said
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
And Allah has said
لَا
laa-
(Do) not
تَتَّخِذُوٓاْ
tattakhiẓooo
take
إِلَٰهَيۡنِ
ʹilaahaynis̤
[two] gods
ٱثۡنَيۡنِۖ
nayn:
two
إِنَّمَا
ʹinnamaa
only
هُوَ
Huwa
He
إِلَٰهٞ
ʹIlaahuñw
(is) God
وَٰحِدٞ
Waaḥid:
One
فَإِيَّٰيَ
faʹiyyaaya
so Me Alone
فَٱرۡهَبُونِ
farhaboon.
you fear [Me]
٥١
16:52
وَلَهُۥ
Walahoo
And to Him (belongs)
مَا
maa-
whatever
فِي
fis
(is) in
ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ
samaawaati
the heavens
وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ
wal-ʹarḍi
and the earth
وَلَهُ
wa-lahud
and to Him
ٱلدِّينُ
Deenu
(is due) the worship
وَاصِبًاۚ
waaṣibaa:
constantly
أَفَغَيۡرَ
ʹafag̣ayral
Then is it other (than)
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
Allah
تَتَّقُونَ
tattaq̣oon?
you fear
٥٢
16:53
وَمَا
Wa-maa
And whatever
بِكُم
bikum
you have
مِّن
min
of
نِّعۡمَةٖ
niʻmatiñ
favor
فَمِنَ
faminal
(is) from
ٱللَّهِۖ
laahi
Allah
ثُمَّ
s̤umma
Then
إِذَا
ʹiẓaa
when
مَسَّكُمُ
massakumuḍ
touches you
ٱلضُّرُّ
ḍurru
the adversity
فَإِلَيۡهِ
faʹilayhi
then to Him
تَجۡـَٔرُونَ
tajʹaroon;
you cry for help
٥٣
16:54
ثُمَّ
S̤umma
Then
إِذَا
ʹiẓaa
when
كَشَفَ
kashafaḍ
He removes
ٱلضُّرَّ
ḍurra
the adversity
عَنكُمۡ
ʻañkum
from you
إِذَا
ʹiẓaa
behold
فَرِيقٞ
fareeq̣um
A group
مِّنكُم
miñkum̃
of you
بِرَبِّهِمۡ
bi-Rabbihim
with their Lord
يُشۡرِكُونَ
yushrikoon.
associate others

16:55
لِيَكۡفُرُواْ
Liyakfuroo
So as to deny
بِمَآ
bimaaa
that which
ءَاتَيۡنَٰهُمۡۚ
ʹaataynaahum!
We have given them
فَتَمَتَّعُواْ
Fatamattaʻoo;
Then enjoy yourselves
فَسَوۡفَ
fasawfa
soon
تَعۡلَمُونَ
taʻlamoon!
you will know
٥٥
16:56
وَيَجۡعَلُونَ
Wa-yajʻaloona
And they assign
لِمَا
limaa
to what
لَا
laa-
not
يَعۡلَمُونَ
yaʻlamoona
they know
نَصِيبٗا
naṣeebam
a portion
مِّمَّا
mimmaa
of what
رَزَقۡنَٰهُمۡۗ
razaq̣naahum!
We have provided them
تَٱللَّهِ
Tallaahi
By Allah
لَتُسۡـَٔلُنَّ
latusʹalunna
surely you will be asked
عَمَّا
ʻammaa
about what
كُنتُمۡ
kuñtum
you used (to)
تَفۡتَرُونَ
taftaroon.
invent
٥٦
16:57
وَيَجۡعَلُونَ
Wa-yajʻaloona
And they assign
لِلَّهِ
lillaahil
to Allah
ٱلۡبَنَٰتِ
banaati
daughters
سُبۡحَٰنَهُۥ
Subḥaanahoo
Glory be to Him
وَلَهُم
wa-lahum
And for them
مَّا
maa
(is) what
يَشۡتَهُونَ
yashtahoon!
they desire
٥٧
16:58
وَإِذَا
Wa-ʹiẓaa
And when
بُشِّرَ
bushshira
is given good news
أَحَدُهُم
ʹaḥaduhum̃
(to) one of them
بِٱلۡأُنثَىٰ
bil-ʹuñs̤aa
of a female
ظَلَّ
z̤̣alla
turns
وَجۡهُهُۥ
wajhuhoo
his face
مُسۡوَدّٗا
muswaddañw
dark
وَهُوَ
wahuwa
and he
كَظِيمٞ
kaz̤̣eem!
suppresses grief
٥٨
16:59
يَتَوَٰرَىٰ
Yatawaaraa
He hides himself
مِنَ
minal
from
ٱلۡقَوۡمِ
q̣awmi
the people
مِن
miñ
(because) of
سُوٓءِ
soooʹi
the evil
مَا
maa-
of what
بُشِّرَ
bushshira
he has been given good news
بِهِۦٓۚ
bih!
about
أَيُمۡسِكُهُۥ
ʹA-yumsikuhoo
Should he keep it
عَلَىٰ
ʻalaa
in
هُونٍ
hoonin
humiliation
أَمۡ
ʹam
or
يَدُسُّهُۥ
yadussuhoo
bury it
فِي
fit
in
ٱلتُّرَابِۗ
turaab?
the dust
أَلَا
ʹAlaa
Unquestionably
سَآءَ
saaaʹa
evil
مَا
maa-
(is) what
يَحۡكُمُونَ
yaḥkumoon?
they decide
٥٩
16:60
لِلَّذِينَ
Lillaẓeena
For those who
لَا
laa-
(do) not
يُؤۡمِنُونَ
yuʹminoona
believe
بِٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ
bil-ʹAakhirati
in the Hereafter
مَثَلُ
mas̤alus
(is) a similitude
ٱلسَّوۡءِۖ
sawʹ:
(of) the evil
وَلِلَّهِ
wa-lillaahil
and for Allah
ٱلۡمَثَلُ
Mas̤alul
(is) the similitude
ٱلۡأَعۡلَىٰۚ
ʹAʻlaa:
the Highest
وَهُوَ
wa-Huwal
And He
ٱلۡعَزِيزُ
ʻAzeezul
(is) the All-Mighty
ٱلۡحَكِيمُ
Ḥakeem.
All-Wise
٦٠
16:61
وَلَوۡ
Wa-law
And if
يُؤَاخِذُ
yuʹaakhiẓul
Allah were to seize
ٱللَّهُ
laahun
Allah were to seize
ٱلنَّاسَ
naasa
the mankind
بِظُلۡمِهِم
biz̤̣ulmihim
for their wrongdoing
مَّا
maa
not
تَرَكَ
taraka
He (would) have left
عَلَيۡهَا
ʻalayhaa
upon it
مِن
miñ
any
دَآبَّةٖ
daaabbatiñw
moving creature
وَلَٰكِن
walaakiñy
but
يُؤَخِّرُهُمۡ
yuʹakhkhiruhum
He defers them
إِلَىٰٓ
ʹilaaa
for
أَجَلٖ
ʹajalim
a term
مُّسَمّٗىۖ
musammaa:
appointed
فَإِذَا
faʹiẓaa
Then when
جَآءَ
jaaaʹa
comes
أَجَلُهُمۡ
ʹajaluhum
their terms
لَا
laa-
not
يَسۡتَـٔۡخِرُونَ
yastaʹkhiroona
they (will) remain behind
سَاعَةٗ
saaʻatañw
an hour
وَلَا
walaa
and not
يَسۡتَقۡدِمُونَ
yastaq̣dimoon.
they can advance (it)
٦١
16:62
وَيَجۡعَلُونَ
Wa-yajʻaloona
And they assign
لِلَّهِ
lillaahi
to Allah
مَا
maa-
what
يَكۡرَهُونَۚ
yakrahoona
they dislike
وَتَصِفُ
wa-taṣifu
and assert
أَلۡسِنَتُهُمُ
ʹalsinatuhumul
their tongues
ٱلۡكَذِبَ
kaẓiba
the lie
أَنَّ
ʹanna
that
لَهُمُ
lahumul
for them
ٱلۡحُسۡنَىٰۚ
ḥusnaa:
(is) the best
لَا
laa-
No
جَرَمَ
jarama
doubt
أَنَّ
ʹanna
that
لَهُمُ
lahumun
for them
ٱلنَّارَ
Naara
(is) the Fire
وَأَنَّهُم
wa-ʹannahum
and that they
مُّفۡرَطُونَ
mufraṭoon!
(will) be abandoned
٦٢
16:63
تَٱللَّهِ
Tallaahi
By Allah
لَقَدۡ
laq̣ad
certainly
أَرۡسَلۡنَآ
ʹarsalnaaa
We have sent
إِلَىٰٓ
ʹilaaa
to
أُمَمٖ
ʹumamim
nations
مِّن
miñ
before you
قَبۡلِكَ
q̣ablika
before you
فَزَيَّنَ
fazayyana
but made fair-seeming
لَهُمُ
lahumush
to them
ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنُ
Shayṭaanu
the Shaitaan
أَعۡمَٰلَهُمۡ
ʹaʻmaalahum
their deeds
فَهُوَ
fahuwa
So he
وَلِيُّهُمُ
waliyyuhumul
(is) their ally
ٱلۡيَوۡمَ
yawma
today
وَلَهُمۡ
wa-lahum
and for them
عَذَابٌ
ʻaẓaabun
(is) a punishment
أَلِيمٞ
ʹaleem.
painful
٦٣
16:64
وَمَآ
Wa-maaa
And not
أَنزَلۡنَا
ʹañzalnaa
We revealed
عَلَيۡكَ
ʻalaykal
to you
ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ
Kitaaba
the Book
إِلَّا
ʹillaa
except
لِتُبَيِّنَ
litubayyina
that you make clear
لَهُمُ
lahumul
to them
ٱلَّذِي
laẓikh
that which
ٱخۡتَلَفُواْ
talafoo
they differed
فِيهِ
feehi
in it
وَهُدٗى
wa-hudañw
and (as) a guidance
وَرَحۡمَةٗ
waraḥmatal
and mercy
لِّقَوۡمٖ
liq̣awmiñy
for a people
يُؤۡمِنُونَ
yuʹminoon.
who believe
٦٤

16:65
وَٱللَّهُ
Wallaahu
And Allah
أَنزَلَ
ʹañzala
has sent down
مِنَ
minas
from
ٱلسَّمَآءِ
samaaaʹi
the sky
مَآءٗ
maaaʹañ
water
فَأَحۡيَا
faʹaḥyaa
then gives life
بِهِ
bihil
by it
ٱلۡأَرۡضَ
ʹarḍa
(to) the earth
بَعۡدَ
baʻda
after
مَوۡتِهَآۚ
mawtihaa:
its death
إِنَّ
ʹinna
Indeed
فِي
fee
in
ذَٰلِكَ
ẓaalika
that
لَأٓيَةٗ
laʹAayatal
(is) surely a Sign
لِّقَوۡمٖ
liq̣awmiñy
for a people
يَسۡمَعُونَ
yasmaʻoon.
who listen
٦٥
16:66
وَإِنَّ
Wa-ʹinna
And indeed
لَكُمۡ
lakum
for you
فِي
fil
in
ٱلۡأَنۡعَٰمِ
ʹanʻaami
the cattle
لَعِبۡرَةٗۖ
laʻIbrah.
(is) a lesson
نُّسۡقِيكُم
Nusq̣eekum
We give you to drink
مِّمَّا
mimmaa
from what
فِي
fee
(is) in
بُطُونِهِۦ
buṭoonihee
their bellies
مِنۢ
mim
from
بَيۡنِ
bayni
between
فَرۡثٖ
fars̤iñw
bowels
وَدَمٖ
wadamil
and blood
لَّبَنًا
labanan
milk
خَالِصٗا
khaaliṣañ
pure
سَآئِغٗا
saaaʹig̣allish
palatable
لِّلشَّٰرِبِينَ
shaaribeen.
to the drinkers
٦٦
16:67
وَمِن
Wa-miñ
And from
ثَمَرَٰتِ
s̤amaraatin
fruits
ٱلنَّخِيلِ
nakheeli
the date-palm
وَٱلۡأَعۡنَٰبِ
wal-ʹaʻnaabi
and the grapes
تَتَّخِذُونَ
tattakhiẓoona
you take
مِنۡهُ
minhu
from it
سَكَرٗا
sakarañw
intoxicant
وَرِزۡقًا
warizq̣an
and a provision
حَسَنًاۚ
ḥasanaa:
good
إِنَّ
ʹinna
Indeed
فِي
fee
in
ذَٰلِكَ
ẓaalika
that
لَأٓيَةٗ
laʹAayatal
(is) surely a Sign
لِّقَوۡمٖ
liq̣awmiñy
for a people
يَعۡقِلُونَ
yaʻq̣iloon.
who use reason
٦٧
16:68
وَأَوۡحَىٰ
Wa-ʹawḥaa
And inspired
رَبُّكَ
Rabbuka
your Lord
إِلَى
ʹilan
to
ٱلنَّحۡلِ
NAḤLI
the bee
أَنِ
ʹanit
[that]
ٱتَّخِذِي
takhiẓee
Take
مِنَ
minal
among
ٱلۡجِبَالِ
jibaali
the mountains
بُيُوتٗا
buyootañw
houses
وَمِنَ
waminash
and among
ٱلشَّجَرِ
shajari
the trees
وَمِمَّا
wa-mimmaa
and in what
يَعۡرِشُونَ
yaʻrishoon;
they construct
٦٨
16:69
ثُمَّ
S̤umma
Then
كُلِي
kulee
eat
مِن
miñ
from
كُلِّ
kullis̤
all
ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ
s̤amaraati
the fruits
فَٱسۡلُكِي
faslukee
and follow
سُبُلَ
subula
(the) ways
رَبِّكِ
Rabbiki
(of) your Lord
ذُلُلٗاۚ
ẓululaa.
made smooth
يَخۡرُجُ
Yakhruju
Comes forth
مِنۢ
mim
from
بُطُونِهَا
buṭoonihaa
their bellies
شَرَابٞ
sharaabum
a drink
مُّخۡتَلِفٌ
mukhtalifun
(of) varying
أَلۡوَٰنُهُۥ
ʹalwaanuhoo
colors
فِيهِ
feehi
in it
شِفَآءٞ
shifaaaʹul
(is) a healing
لِّلنَّاسِۚ
linnaas:
for the mankind
إِنَّ
ʹinna
Indeed
فِي
fee
in
ذَٰلِكَ
ẓaalika
that
لَأٓيَةٗ
laʹAayatal
(is) surely a Sign
لِّقَوۡمٖ
liq̣awmiñy
for a people
يَتَفَكَّرُونَ
yatafakkaroon.
who reflect
٦٩
16:70
وَٱللَّهُ
Wallaahu
And Allah
خَلَقَكُمۡ
khalaq̣akum
created you
ثُمَّ
s̤umma
then
يَتَوَفَّىٰكُمۡۚ
yatawaffaakum
will cause you to die
وَمِنكُم
wa-miñkum
And among you
مَّن
mañy
(is one) who
يُرَدُّ
yuraddu
is sent back
إِلَىٰٓ
ʹilaaa
to
أَرۡذَلِ
ʹarẓalil
the worst
ٱلۡعُمُرِ
ʻumuri
(of) the age
لِكَيۡ
likay
so that
لَا
laa-
not
يَعۡلَمَ
yaʻlama
he will know
بَعۡدَ
baʻda
after
عِلۡمٖ
ʻilmiñ
knowledge
شَيۡـًٔاۚ
shayʹaa:
a thing
إِنَّ
ʹinnal
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
عَلِيمٞ
ʻAleemuñ
(is) All-Knowing
قَدِيرٞ
Q̣adeer.
All-Powerful
٧٠
16:71
وَٱللَّهُ
Wallaahu
And Allah
فَضَّلَ
faḍḍala
has favored
بَعۡضَكُمۡ
baʻḍakum
some of you
عَلَىٰ
ʻalaa
over
بَعۡضٖ
baʻḍiñ
others
فِي
fir
in
ٱلرِّزۡقِۚ
rizq̣:
[the] provision
فَمَا
famal
But not
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those who
فُضِّلُواْ
fuḍḍiloo
were favored
بِرَآدِّي
biraaaddee
would hand over
رِزۡقِهِمۡ
rizq̣ihim
their provision
عَلَىٰ
ʻalaa
to
مَا
maa-
whom
مَلَكَتۡ
malakat
possess
أَيۡمَٰنُهُمۡ
ʹaymaanuhum
their right hands
فَهُمۡ
fahum
so (that) they
فِيهِ
feehi
(are) in it
سَوَآءٌۚ
sawaaaʹ.
equal
أَفَبِنِعۡمَةِ
ʹAfabiniʻmatil
Then is it the Favor
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
of Allah
يَجۡحَدُونَ
yajḥadoon?
they reject
٧١
16:72
وَٱللَّهُ
Wallaahu
And Allah
جَعَلَ
jaʻala
(has) made
لَكُم
lakum
for you
مِّنۡ
min
from
أَنفُسِكُمۡ
ʹañfusikum
yourselves
أَزۡوَٰجٗا
ʹazwaajañw
spouses
وَجَعَلَ
Wajaʻala
and has made
لَكُم
lakum
for you
مِّنۡ
min
from
أَزۡوَٰجِكُم
ʹazwaajikum
your spouses
بَنِينَ
baneena
sons
وَحَفَدَةٗ
waḥafadatañw
and grandsons
وَرَزَقَكُم
warazaq̣akum
and has provided for you
مِّنَ
minaṭ
from
ٱلطَّيِّبَٰتِۚ
ṭayyibaat:
the good things
أَفَبِٱلۡبَٰطِلِ
ʹafabilbaaṭili
Then in falsehood do
يُؤۡمِنُونَ
yuʹminoona
they believe
وَبِنِعۡمَتِ
wa-biniʻmatil
and the Favor
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
of Allah
هُمۡ
hum
they
يَكۡفُرُونَ
yakfuroon?―
disbelieve

16:73
وَيَعۡبُدُونَ
Wa-yaʻbudoona
And they worship
مِن
miñ
other than
دُونِ
doonil
other than
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
Allah
مَا
maa
which
لَا
laa-
not
يَمۡلِكُ
yamliku
possesses
لَهُمۡ
lahum
for them
رِزۡقٗا
rizq̣am
any provision
مِّنَ
minas
from
ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ
samaawaati
the heavens
وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ
wal-ʹarḍi
and the earth
شَيۡـٔٗا
shayʹañw
[anything]
وَلَا
walaa
and not
يَسۡتَطِيعُونَ
yastaṭeeʻoon?
they are able
٧٣
16:74
فَلَا
Falaa
So (do) not
تَضۡرِبُواْ
taḍriboo
put forth
لِلَّهِ
lillaahil
for Allah
ٱلۡأَمۡثَالَۚ
ʹams̤aal:
the similitude
إِنَّ
ʹinnal
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
يَعۡلَمُ
yaʻlamu
knows
وَأَنتُمۡ
waʹañtum
and you
لَا
laa-
(do) not
تَعۡلَمُونَ
taʻlamoon.
know
٧٤
16:75
۞ضَرَبَ
Ḍarabal
Allah sets forth
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah sets forth
مَثَلًا
Mas̤alan
the example
عَبۡدٗا
ʻabdam
(of) a slave
مَّمۡلُوكٗا
mamlookal
(who is) owned
لَّا
laa
not
يَقۡدِرُ
yaq̣diru
he has power
عَلَىٰ
ʻalaa
on
شَيۡءٖ
shayʹiñw
anything
وَمَن
wamar
and (one) whom
رَّزَقۡنَٰهُ
razaq̣naahu
We provided him
مِنَّا
minnaa
from Us
رِزۡقًا
rizq̣an
a provision
حَسَنٗا
ḥasanañ
good
فَهُوَ
fahuwa
so he
يُنفِقُ
yuñfiq̣u
spends
مِنۡهُ
minhu
from it
سِرّٗا
sirrañw
secretly
وَجَهۡرًاۖ
wajahraa:
and publicly
هَلۡ
hal
Can
يَسۡتَوُۥنَۚ
yastawoon?
they be equal
ٱلۡحَمۡدُ
ʹAl-Ḥamdu
All praise
لِلَّهِۚ
lillaah.
(is) for Allah
بَلۡ
Bal
Nay
أَكۡثَرُهُمۡ
ʹaks̤aruhum
but most of them
لَا
laa-
(do) not
يَعۡلَمُونَ
yaʻlamoon.
know
٧٥
