وَتَبَّ

and perish he

May the hands of Abu Lahab be ruined! May he be ruined too

Neither his wealth nor his gains will help him

He will be burnt
نَارٗا

(in) a Fire
ذَاتَ

لَهَبٖ

Blazing Flames
٣
he will burn in the Flaming Fire––

وَٱمۡرَأَتُهُۥ
wa-im'ra-atuhu
And his wife
حَمَّالَةَ
hammalata
(the) carrier
ٱلۡحَطَبِ
al-hatabi
(of) firewood
٤
and so will his wife, the firewood-carrier

her neck
حَبۡلٞ

(will be) a rope
مِّن

palm-fiber

with a palm-fibre rope around her neck
