86:1
وَٱلسَّمَآءِ
wal-samai
By the sky
وَٱلطَّارِقِ
wal-tariqi
and the night comer
١
By the sky and the night-comer––
Translation 1260
surah086
ﲪﲫﲮﲴ
86:2
وَمَآ
wama
And what
أَدۡرَىٰكَ
adraka
can make you know
مَا
ma
what
ٱلطَّارِقُ
al-tariqu
the night comer (is)
٢
What will explain to you what the night-comer is
Translation 1260
86:3
ٱلنَّجۡمُ
al-najmu
(It is) the star
ٱلثَّاقِبُ
al-thaqibu
the piercing
٣
The piercing star––

86:4
إِن
in
Not
كُلُّ
kullu
(is) every
نَفۡسٖ
nafsin
soul
لَّمَّا
lamma
but
عَلَيۡهَا
alayha
over it
حَافِظٞ
hafizun
(is) a protector
٤
there is a watcher over every soul

86:5
فَلۡيَنظُرِ
falyanzuri
So let see
ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ
al-insanu
man
مِمَّ
mimma
from what
خُلِقَ
khuliqa
he is created
٥
Man should reflect on what he was created from
Translation 1260
86:6
خُلِقَ
khuliqa
He is created
مِن
min
from
مَّآءٖ
main
a water
دَافِقٖ
dafiqin
ejected
٦
He is created from spurting fluid
Translation 1260
86:7
يَخۡرُجُ
yakhruju
Coming forth
مِنۢ
min
from
بَيۡنِ
bayni
between
ٱلصُّلۡبِ
al-sul'bi
the backbone
وَٱلتَّرَآئِبِ
wal-taraibi
and the ribs
٧
then he emerges from between the backbone and breastbone

86:8
إِنَّهُۥ
innahu
Indeed He
عَلَىٰ
ala
to
رَجۡعِهِۦ
raj'ihi
return him
لَقَادِرٞ
laqadirun
(is) Able
٨
God is certainly able to bring him back to life

86:9
يَوۡمَ
yawma
(The) Day
تُبۡلَى
tub'la
will be tested
ٱلسَّرَآئِرُ
al-sarairu
the secrets
٩
On the Day when secrets are laid bare
Translation 1260
86:10
فَمَا
fama
Then not
لَهُۥ
lahu
(is) for him
مِن
min
any
قُوَّةٖ
quwwatin
power
وَلَا
wala
and not
نَاصِرٖ
nasirin
any helper
١٠
he will have no power and no one to help him
Translation 1260
86:11
وَٱلسَّمَآءِ
wal-samai
By the sky
ذَاتِ
dhati
which
ٱلرَّجۡعِ
al-raj'i
returns
١١
By the sky and its recurring rain
Translation 1260
86:12
وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ
wal-ardi
And the earth
ذَاتِ
dhati
which
ٱلصَّدۡعِ
al-sad'i
cracks open
١٢
by the earth that cracks open
Translation 1260
86:13
إِنَّهُۥ
innahu
Indeed it
لَقَوۡلٞ
laqawlun
(is) surely a Word
فَصۡلٞ
faslun
decisive
١٣
This is truly a decisive statement
Translation 1260
86:14
وَمَا
wama
And not
هُوَ
huwa
it
بِٱلۡهَزۡلِ
bil-hazli
(is) for amusement
١٤
it is not something to be taken lightly

86:15
إِنَّهُمۡ
innahum
Indeed they
يَكِيدُونَ
yakiduna
are plotting
كَيۡدٗا
kaydan
a plot
١٥
They plot and scheme
Translation 1260
86:16
وَأَكِيدُ
wa-akidu
But I am planning
كَيۡدٗا
kaydan
a plan
١٦
but so do I
Translation 1260
86:17
فَمَهِّلِ
famahhili
So give respite
ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ
al-kafirina
(to) the disbelievers
أَمۡهِلۡهُمۡ
amhil'hum
Give respite to them
رُوَيۡدَۢا
ruwaydan
little
١٧
[Prophet], let the disbelievers be, let them be for a while

87:1
سَبِّحِ
sabbihi
Glorify
ٱسۡمَ
is'ma
(the) name
رَبِّكَ
rabbika
(of) your Lord
ٱلۡأَعۡلَى
al-a'la
the Most High
١
[Prophet], glorify the name of your Lord the Most High

87:2
ٱلَّذِي
alladhi
The One Who
خَلَقَ
khalaqa
created
فَسَوَّىٰ
fasawwa
then proportioned
٢
who created [all things] in due proportion

87:3
وَٱلَّذِي
wa-alladhi
And the One Who
قَدَّرَ
qaddara
measured
فَهَدَىٰ
fahada
then guided
٣
who determined their destinies and guided them
Translation 1260
87:4
وَٱلَّذِيٓ
wa-alladhi
And the One Who
أَخۡرَجَ
akhraja
brings forth
ٱلۡمَرۡعَىٰ
al-mar'a
the pasture
٤
who brought out the green pasture
Translation 1260
87:5
فَجَعَلَهُۥ
faja'alahu
And then makes it
غُثَآءً
ghuthaan
stubble
أَحۡوَىٰ
ahwa
dark
٥
then made it dark debris
Translation 1260
87:6
سَنُقۡرِئُكَ
sanuq'ri-uka
We will make you recite
فَلَا
fala
so not
تَنسَىٰٓ
tansa
you will forget
٦
[Prophet], We shall teach you [the Quran] and you will not forget––

87:7
إِلَّا
illa
Except
مَا
ma
what
شَآءَ
shaa
wills
ٱللَّهُۚ
al-lahu
Allah
إِنَّهُۥ
innahu
Indeed He
يَعۡلَمُ
ya'lamu
knows
ٱلۡجَهۡرَ
al-jahra
the manifest
وَمَا
wama
and what
يَخۡفَىٰ
yakhfa
is hidden
٧
unless God wishes; He knows both what is open and what is hidden––

87:8
وَنُيَسِّرُكَ
wanuyassiruka
And We will ease you
لِلۡيُسۡرَىٰ
lil'yus'ra
to the ease
٨
We shall show you the easy way
Translation 1260
87:9
فَذَكِّرۡ
fadhakkir
So remind
إِن
in
if
نَّفَعَتِ
nafa'ati
benefits
ٱلذِّكۡرَىٰ
al-dhik'ra
the reminder
٩
So remind, if reminding will help
Translation 1260
87:10
سَيَذَّكَّرُ
sayadhakkaru
He will pay heed
مَن
man
(one) who
يَخۡشَىٰ
yakhsha
fears (Allah)
١٠
Those who stand in awe of God will heed the reminder
Translation 1260
87:11
وَيَتَجَنَّبُهَا
wayatajannabuha
And will avoid it
ٱلۡأَشۡقَى
al-ashqa
the wretched one
١١
but it will be ignored by the most wicked
Translation 1260
87:12
ٱلَّذِي
alladhi
The one who
يَصۡلَى
yasla
will burn
ٱلنَّارَ
al-nara
(in) the Fire
ٱلۡكُبۡرَىٰ
al-kub'ra
[the] great
١٢
who will enter the Great Fire

87:13
ثُمَّ
thumma
Then
لَا
la
not
يَمُوتُ
yamutu
he will die
فِيهَا
fiha
therein
وَلَا
wala
and not
يَحۡيَىٰ
yahya
will live
١٣
where they will neither die nor live

87:14
قَدۡ
qad
Certainly
أَفۡلَحَ
aflaha
has succeeded
مَن
man
(one) who
تَزَكَّىٰ
tazakka
purifies (himself)
١٤
Prosperous are those who purify themselves
Translation 1260
87:15
وَذَكَرَ
wadhakara
And remembers
ٱسۡمَ
is'ma
(the) name
رَبِّهِۦ
rabbihi
(of) his Lord
فَصَلَّىٰ
fasalla
and prays
١٥
remember the name of their Lord, and pray
