Narrated Sulaiman bin Surd: While I was sitting in the company of the Prophet, two men abused each other and the face of one of them became red with anger, and his jugular veins swelled (i.e. he became furious). On that the Prophet said, "I know a word, the saying of which will cause him to relax, if he does say it. If he says: 'I seek Refuge with Allah from Satan.' then all is anger will go away." Some body said to him, "The Prophet has said, 'Seek refuge with Allah from Satan."' The angry man said, "Am I mad?" [Bukhari: 3282]
From Surah Al-Qasas, this is a strong shield. Muslims ask Allah to protect from harm and keep us safe from wrongdoers. Musa used it when danger came.
Control your anger and you get Paradise. The Quran and hadith say this. Stay calm, don't hurt others. Many good things will come.
Ask Allah for help. Say a masnun dua. This stops anger fast. Also, pray, remember Allah, and be patient. These keep you calm.
Surah Al-Shurah verse 37 says hold back anger. Don't say mean things you regret later. Wait with patience in tough times. This is for Muslims.
The Prophet gave us advice. If angry while standing, sit down. Still angry? Lie down. Hadith about anger tells us this.
The dua for anger is A'udhu billahi min ash-shaytan ir-rajim. The Prophet taught this masnun dua. It asks Allah to keep us safe from shaitan when we're angry.
