Translation

O Allah, I am Your slave and the son of Your male slave and the son of your female slave. My forehead is in Your Hand (i.e. you have control over me). Your Judgment upon me is assured and Your Decree concerning me is just. I ask You by every Name that You have named Yourself with, revealed in Your Book, taught any one of Your creation or kept unto Yourself in the knowledge of the unseen that is with You, to make the Qur'an the spring of my heart, and the light of my chest, the banisher of my sadness and the reliever of my distress. Note

Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (RA) tells us what the Prophet (ﷺ) said: When someone feels anxiety or worry, say this dua. Allah will take away the distress and replace it with happiness. The companions asked, Should we learn these words? The Prophet said, Yes! Anyone who hears them should learn them by heart. The chain of this hadith is good. [2] Note for women: Say it like this - Allaahumma inni amatuka, wa bintu 'abdika wa bintu amatika.... Meaning: Oh Allah! I am your slave girl, daughter of your slave and daughter of your slave girl.... Many hadiths tell us to make dua using Allah's greatest name. Asking Allah by this name helps your dua get accepted.
